Mavericks of Change [Update]

UPDATE from SusanUnPC: Fox News’s Carl Cameron came up with a fascinating description of this first joint McCain/Palin TV ad, which I typed as he spoke:

It’s a great piece of political judo wherein you take the mantra, the message, the strength of your opponent and claim it as your own. Barack Obama has been on the campaign trail now for two years calling himself the agent of change, saying that he’s the person who can really effect serious reform in Washington.

Now you’ve got John McCain and Sarah Palin saying that they are the candidates of change, pointing to their experience and their resume — their actual work in government — as evidence of their ability to effect the change that Barack Obama says he hopes to bring. Pretty tough row to hoe when Barack Obama has spent so many hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising and campaign efforts calling himself the agent of change, but McCain and Palin believe they can wrestle it away from him in just these last 58 days.

………………………………………………………….

McCain and Palin are out with a new video this morning that keeps up with their string of great, to-the-point ads that leave Obama sputtering:

Picture from http://www.onlinediscountmart.com/seenoevil-hearnoevil-speaknoevil.htmlI wonder what might be Obama’s response:

  • Uh, I was a community organizer
  • I, uh, thought about joining the military
  • Oh, yeah, throughout 20 years with terrorists, felons, and hate-filled racists I kept my eyes shut, ears closed, and mouth sealed.

Yep, that’s it!

  • sowsear

    Community Organizer=rabblerouser.

    • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

I’ve always gelt that Community Organizer schtick was rather weak ‘fill’ in an already empty, pathetic resume’. I’m glad that the Repubs are giving it play.

      • Tuppence 411

But But But…according to Donna Brazilenut, Jesus was a community organizer.

        • No Obamislamists

community organizer=keeping the homeless in a single file line at the methadone clinic.

          • Duras

*** snicker *** Good one. Made me laugh. :-)

For all of those who want to be able to watch Sarah Palin events live, round the clock, Team McCain has put up a new site called ‘McCain 2008 Live:’

              http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mccain-2008-live

All McCain and Palin, all the time, including all live events.

Please pass this around. There are a lot of people who want to be able to see Palin and McCain more as they attend various rallies. This is their way to do so, via the internet.

              • http://www.youtube.com/user/PaulFVillarreal Paul F. Villarreal

Is Oprah Winfrey, Obama supporter and the woman who just denied an interview to VP candidate Sarah Palin, guilty of using racially insensitive language and/or harboring what some might characterize as ‘racist’ viewpoints?

                See for yourself:

                http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ic2oXjbUYE

                • Retired

Racism is OK if you’re black, you’re entitled. One wonders when Oprah and others like her look back on this life whether they will be saying, “I looked after my black community” or simply “I looked after my community.” If one said “I looked after my white community,” they would absolutely be branded as a racist.

And they wonder why Barack isn’t playing well.

          • Perry Logan

But that would be real work…

        • joe

Have you seen the t-shirts the DNC and Obama are making up? A black shirt with white letters which read:

“Jesus was a community organizer. Puntius Pilate was a Governor.”

Are they serious?!?!? WTF are they doing tying BHO to Jesus? And Palin to the man who killed Christ? The campaign is imploding before our very eyes, and it is oh so enjoyable to watch.

          • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

By their line of reasoning, Governor Ed Rendell is also a Pontius Pilate.

As well as all the other Dem governors.

This truly is a sign of desperation and imminent abandoning of ship by scurrying DNC rats.

            • Ferd McBerfle

And Jesus was no community organizer. This has been pointed out so many times. Oblahblah can add blasphemer to his resume.

          • Bamboozled

And the shirts are black? Isn’t that racist? I’ve heard so many things referred to as racist this past year that I’m not sure what actually is racist anymore.

          • Postmaster

I hope they do, Sean Hannity will have a fit!~

          • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

Apparently the cornerstone lie of the Obama-haters is to blame anything that any freelance leftist says or does to the Obama campaign or the DNC.

And such is the case with joe. Don’t believe his lies. DNC and Obama have nothing to do with these T-shirts.

Unless you also believe that the No Quarter blog is a creation of the RNC.

            • Ferd McBerfle

And such is the case with joe. Don’t believe his lies. DNC and Obama have nothing to do with these T-shirts.
Unless you also believe that the No Quarter blog is a creation of the RNC.

Fallacy of the false dilemma. Your arguments are tiresome and fail Logic 101. Go back to the street-corner preaching.

            • WMCB

Well, considering that the “Jesus was an organizer, Pilate was a governor” statement was made by none other than the DNC’s Donna Brazile, on national TV, I think the blame is pretty appropriate.

Is Donna Brazile a “freelance leftist”?

              • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

Nice try, WMCB… you insidious misleader. Donna Brazile was quoting the Internet meme!

Here is her full quote: “There’s some on the Internet now that ‘Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a governor.’ ”

So stop with the lies that it’s a DNC/Obama creation.

It’s worth it to support Obama merely to thwart all you unscrupulous mudfighters.

                • Karen

‘Some say’ is the cheap tactic of a weak debater. It is a simplistic way of presenting an argument/opinion that they want into a conversation under the guise of pretending to reject them. If she didn’t want those comments in the public discourse, why doesn’t she keep her mouth shut? Some on the internet say you are stupid.

            • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

The Obots are doing as they’re programmed to do. And just on queue, Obama claims no connection.

It’s getting pretty damn tiresome and totally transparent, this little Obama/Obot dance.

          • artemis

all governors under the bus now too, that includes Patrick of MA and Paterson of NY. oh yea, and that annoying guy over there who’s wife is probably the only one who can save me now, you know that ex-governor from AK.

        • chitownmom

Yes, but Jesus never ran for office….

          • McHope

            They will never get it.
The country does not need a religious movement or a messiah for President. We need a leader for America, not a orator to lead us in prayers for the world. He can do that on his own time.
            and
Did they not feel enough embarrassment after everyone at the RNC pointed out how laughable Obama’s ‘community organizing’ was as a presidential qualification?

        • Chimpo-bites

So Caribou Barbie is ready to step in and answer that 3 AM phone call is she?
The problem with rightwing propaganda is that when it is examined with common sense the real fear the wingnuts should be experiencing is that McOld will die in office and we will have a lying unqualified whacko as president… EXCEPT she won’t have Cheney there to make sure she doesn’t screw the pooch…

To give moose gutting mama a free pass when the national security of this country is at stake is not only stupid and unamerican … its downright dangerous to the the nation..

          • Jackie

I don’t know about you but Obama is having trouble measuring up to Governor Palin’s qualifications.
He is unqualified for a security clearance.

I am far more comfortable with her answering the call than giving the nuclear secrets to Obama.

      • sowsear

Have you read Dave Barry’s columns on the conventions?
Here’s one on the DNC, http://www.miamiherald.com/living/columnists/dave-barry/story/655722.html

I also found a column in our newspaper also by Barry on Palin being the vp. I can’t find a link, but it’s called, “‘Minnesota nice’ comes to end, the presidential campaign begins”. Best lines:”The Republicans are leaving here with energy of their own, thanks to …a small-town Alaska hockey-mom…who can kill and field-butcher a mature grizzly bear using only a nail file and her teeth.”

      • nancysabet

        Fabulous, absolutely great ad!

I am voting for the real change.

      • Denise

If we just sat back and voted for Obama isn’t that the same as allowing him to steal our votes?

IMO if Mr. Zero No wins then he stole my vote and so did the democratic party.

        • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

Oh, but Denise, you MUST vote for Obama – or Roe V Wade will be gone! Or the war will go on.

Geez, I’m so sick of these fear-mongering threats from the left. I can’t believe I was once part of them.

To not vote for Obama is one vote he’s lost. To vote for McCain is two votes against Obama.

      • http://MaqisBHOTroll mary

Let’s from now on refer to the party as:

The ex-Democratic Party! Or The Misogyny Party!

For Obama, considering it the groups he’s formed and worked with–Public Allies and ACORN–it is terrorism without the bombs.

      • I am Backtrack Oblahblah and approved this message

I wonder what might be Obama’s response:

        * Uh, I was a community organizer

        * Oh, yeah, throughout 20 years with terrorists, felons, and hate-filled racists I kept my eyes shut, ears closed, and mouth sealed.

        LMAO!

    • Urban Hillbilly

Most people I know are the “rabble”. I’m don’t get your point?

      • Hope Floats

Rabble-rousing like this (from the NQ entry Obama’s ACORN by NancyA):

Some recent reports about their activities include the following things. They have disrupted and blocked activities within the Chicago City Council during living wage discussions. In Baltimore, MD, they burst into the scene of a private law dinner. They bussed four loads of protesters to the site of a mayor’s house, where they spewed profanities at the mayor and his family.

In the past they have been tied to illegal voter registration in at least three states: Washington, Missouri and North Carolina.

They were fined $25,000 and promised to instruct their paid canvassers on the state election requirements. In 2005, according to the complaint filed with Mecklenberg County, North Carolina, the voter fraud involved the registration of homeless people. ACORN agrees they break the law but said “no one told us”. In 2006, in Kansas City, MO, five low-level operatives were charged with voter fraud. Four pleaded guilty, with the fifth person released because it came out that an ACORN worker had stolen her identity.

ACORN drives companies like Costco from urban areas that actually need jobs. Their opposition to welfare reform tends to keep the people in poverty in these areas, while causing family breakdown. The worst of their tactics is the regulation of banks. They protest “predatory lending,” putting pressure on banks to make large donations to them to finance their “non-partisan motor voter drives.” Stern says that these tactics tend to be “undisguised authoritarian socialism.”

So, to recap: voter fraud, bussing in “homeless people” to vote, organized demonstrations, vandalism, identity theft, etc.

        • Urban Hillbilly

“Rabble” was a term used by the elite in ancient Rome to describe common people. Frankly, I find it’s usage offensive toward poor people.

In terms of voter registration, ACORN put a massive effort into it in 2004, at least here in KCMO, with poorly trained workers. And, a lot of people they “registered” were already registered, but didn’t know that they were. Thus, causing a lot of legwork for ACORN workers without a reward. Plus, this opened ACORN up to more charges of voter fraud. I worked with (not for) ACORN in 2004.

          • Hope Floats

Obama supporters have a lot of colorful terms for poor people who live in rural areas, and they spared none of those terms during the PA, WV and KY primaries. ?By supporters, I mean paid bloggers, nutrooters and media correspondents and journalists shamelessly in the tank for him, oh and let’s not forget surrogates and campaign spokesmen.

But an acceptable definition of “rabble”" would be a disorderly mob, as well as the lower classes. I have no problem with poverty except when it is used to justify throwing bricks through windows and harassment.

As for voter fraud in Kansas City, MO involving ACORN, there were four indictments in 2006 after numerous complaints. The Kansas City Election Board reported that they found suspicious forms, such as seven applications from one person and an application for a dead man.

“There is some motive behind it — this is not accidental,” said Ray James with the Kansas City Election Board.

Election officials said some of the application cards had false addresses, signatures and phone numbers.

            • PewL

I think all states should have identification for this election.Sounds like too much corruption, and fraud, could take place…Didn’t Indiana start with idents..Probable someone should suggest this way before the election,so everyone is counted for..

    • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Hey! What’s wrong with being a Rabble Rouser?!?! ;-)

I agree, though, that 3 yrs of an unsuccessful term at Community Organizing does not provide enough training to be POTUS.

And I think Jesus was just a tad bit better at it than Obama, Donna Brazile. For starters, he was a whole helluva lot more HUMBLE, and he treated women better!!

      Just sayin’.

      • wry

Jesus was a carpenter. Then he took a sabbatical.

    • Tuppence 411

Important point- Obots are trying to muddy the waters between “Community Organizer”, which is political activism and “Community Service Worker” which is charitiable or goverment outreach to those in need. They are trying to make it sound like Obambi was the Mother Teresa of the Southside of Chicago when he reality he was working voter registrations.

      • wodiej

        cripes…they’re really stretching now!

      • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

They are trying to make it sound like Obambi was the Mother Teresa of the Southside of Chicago when he reality he was working voter registrations.

Interesting…from my time living in the urban jungle I can attest to the fact that most of the community service efforts were initiated and driven by faith-based organizations. I never saw ACORN run a soup kitchen.

The one neighborhood association that had a lot of clout showed up at all the city council meetings and made sure the trash was picked up, etc. Many quality of life issues, nothing to do with voter registrations.

        • Urban Hillbilly

Neighborhood associations advocate for their neighborhood (ie zoning issues).

Community Service Organizations provide services to the community (ie food pantry).

Still lost as to what a “community organizer” does?

          • Hope Floats

They register dead people to vote and lead activist demonstrations. Got it.

      • sproutingly

Good point to bring up. Obama wasn’t getting his hands dirty in soup kitchens. His job entailed lobbying the ward captains to get their people to vote for him through pay for play inducements.

      • tzada

What they also don’t point out is thei. He was HIRED he was a PAID worker.

“Obama was working for a group of churches that were concerned about their parishioners, many of whom had been laid off when the steel mills closed on the south side of Chicago. They hired Obama to help those stunned people recover and get the services they needed–job training, help with housing and so forth–from the local government. It was, dare I say it, the Lord’s work–the sort of mission Jesus preached.”
        TIME

        • Tuppence 411

See! I told you. They are mudding the water, trying to smear the ridicule over the self-imposed title of “Community Organizer”. He is comparing his outreach work for a subcontractor of Catholic Charities with his political activism work for Project Vote and PIRG. While his work for Catholic Charities was community service, does it make him qualifed to be PRESIDENT? I will give him that his work with Project Vote and PIRG gave him experience to run a dang CAMPAIGN.

    • Maverick

Community Organizer = Registering Pets and Dead Voters for Acorn.

      • Hope Floats

But hey, Jesus probably got his friend Lazarus resurrected in time to vote in 36 AD.

    • Hope Floats

Red State had a good take on why the “community organizer” protest is a weak strategy that is “mind-bendingly stupid on a number of levels.”

      http://www.redstate.com/diaries/redstate/2008/sep/08/the-organizer-based-community/

      EXAMPLE

Every time Obama is compared to John McCain’s running mate instead of to McCain himself, that’s a win for the GOP. Every. Single. Time. It just emphasizes that he should be running, at most, for Vice President.

Pilate is best known to history as the man who decided that a crucial life and death decision was above his pay grade to make. Not really the image Obama wants to conjure up.

The hubris never stops – as my older brother put it, “just what the Obama campaign needs: more comparisons to Jesus.” Most Americans have a pretty good idea what Jesus was about and are not easily persuaded to adjust that idea to make Him more like Barack Obama.

    • http://MaqisBHOTroll mary

      Great ad!

With a bonus: Leg-thrilling moron Chris Matthews and histrionic take-her-to-the-shed Olberman are FIRED from MSNBC’s anchor jobs!

Sexism doesn’t sell anymore on Cable! Yet not a word uttered about the horribly misogynist treatment of Palin and her family or the year-long Hillary-bashing that cost her the nomination!

Write letters to MSNBC and demand they remove both Chris and Olbermann from their “demotion”. They deserve same treatment as Imus! Dismissal 100%!

CNN should fire JACK McCAFFERTY who called Hillary a “scolding mother”, among more vitriolic names, thinking it’s an insult! Palin should take note!

Vote for the Party that will end Sexism! Our vote COUNTS!

        • Indy

It goes beyond disgusting, but it sure speaks to the nature of the so-called “liberal elite”. They are not for equal rights, they are not for “the people” or “working families” (btw, what the hell does that mean, anyways?). As we have seen and heard, in living color, is that they despise and look down on most of the people in this country. They are they breathing example of out of touch. Do they really believe that piling on a pregnant teen and a Downs Syndrome baby is going to win the election and sway independents?

They make me sick, from the trolls like “Bristol” to the media columnists and pundits who have reflected “Bristol’s” ideas using slightly prettier rhetoric.

          • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

It just shows the real ‘values’ of the Obots. They’re a bunch of thugs and low-lifes who are mistakenly under the impression that Obama gives a flying fuck about them. Hardly. A narcissist such as Obama doesn’t give a damn about anyone but himself. But he’s not above using all these idiots for his own advancement, even though he actually has total contempt for them.

Sad really. They’re that delusional that they don’t realize the contempt their messiah has for them.

boy, those Obama supporters really know how to attract people to their candidate, don’t they?

    • Fenelon spoke

The Obama response will be that McCain=Bush. However, McCain and Palin are reformers and have bucked people in their party. Meanwhile, OBamabots and media people in the Obama tank continue to use sexist and demaning slurs and insults (I have heard numerous references to Palin’s boobs and a casting couch getting her the job) and post drivel like the “retarted baby” line. This kind of thing repells people. They are cluless and don’t get that this is not the way to attract voters. Obama camp created a monster which they cannot control.

        • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

Got this in an email today. It’s long and I hope you don’t mind my putting it here. But it truly addresses the pathetic nature of Obama and his perception of actual ‘work’ and ‘experience’.

          143 days of experience.

          Can you believe this????

You couldn’t get a job at McDonald’s and become District Manager after 143
          days of experience.

You couldn’t become Chief of Surgery after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t get a job as a teacher and be the Superintendent after 143
          days of experience.

You couldn’t join the military and become a General after 143 days of
          experience.

You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the Nightly News Anchor
          after 143 days of experience……
          BUT….

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the
time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he
logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That’s how many days the
Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work
experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of
the Free World …. 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143
days, that’s all it is – a start, and strangely, a large sector of the
American public is OK with this and campaigning for him.

We wouldn’t accept this in our own line of work, yet many are OK with this
for the President of the United States of America?

Come on folks, we’re not voting for the next American Idol!

Please forward this…a lot of folks need to do some serious thinking!

          • Elle

They’ve been doing so since the beginning, and haven’t stopped. Hillary isn’t even the race anymore and some still have to spew their vile comments. Well…right now they love her because they think she’s going to be the attack dog for Obama against Palin. Too bad she’s already said she will do no such thing. By next week they’ll be back to spewing the vile against her again. Hillary knows that, she’s no fool.

Yes. Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton was, is and will never be anyone’s fool!
She’s also a woman of class and substance. She categorically stated yesterday that she will be only addressing the issues re McCain and his V-P!

Hillary was so distressed at the funeral of her good friend Stephanie Tubbs Jones last week. And what did the medi misogynist creeps do? They made fun of her turning to her side, avoiding Bill Clinton, to kiss Obama. She looked teary and upset. Yet the media morons deemed it fit to make fun. Never did they mention this was occurring in a Church!

Jack McCafferty of CNN should be fired, too! He’s their most venomous sexist neanderthal!

I love this ad–thanks for putting it up here!

I remember hearing Republicans say their party had left them regarding BUsh and and the neocons; now I know exactly how they feel–I don’t recognize the vitriol about Palin from people I used to agree with –Steinem, Jong, Chopra, etc

Reform in Washington is what we need if we can get rid of the influence of big money. I seriously think McCain/Palin will try. Which is why many people are going to fight against them. Big $$ have been behind Barry from the beginning.

There’s an article on Alternet this morning slamming Palin’s church and making her look nuts. The comments are vicious about her. I left a comment that her church has never seemed to influence her actions in government; one example being her veto of the law banning rights for gays and lesbians.

I say if they want to talk about her church can we FINALLY expose the anti-American, anti-white, anti-Semitic church Bambi sat in for 20 years (and Oprah for 11)?

    • Tuppence 411

First we heard- “Not that woman!” about Hillary.
Now we hear- “Why this woman?” about Palin.
It’s not about this woman or that woman. It’s about any WOMAN. And I agree with you, even more disgusting coming from people I once respected. It’s time to break the glass ceiling.

    • Morgan

The best way to get rid of the money in Washington is to get rid of the power in Washington. If someone can do you a favor, of course you are going to seek to influence them. I’d like it better if we just limited DC’s ability to choose winners and losers.

That being said, I think the reform direction is something we can all really join up on. I’m a Republican, but I don’t care about any ‘agenda’ items– if McCain just worked on reforming pork, corruption, etc. I’d be ecstatic, and I think our alliance could end up being very productive.

I don’t give a rip about social policy getting done, let’s take what we’re all enthused about together and run with it. I think it’d be pretty sweet, and there is more than enough work in the reform area to be done.

Anyway, I’m hoping we all stick together, this is really a historic opportunity to make some serious waves in Washington. It would be fun to watch.

      • Maverick

It HAS TO begin with cleaning up the deep and endless corruption. Nothing else will get done without it. It’ll be more of the same just different faces.

      • Joy

Morgan, I agree but it will be hard for McCain to clean up DC with the same crowd around him. Phil Gramm gives me no warm fuzzy about McCain’s change line. And McCain’s pick of Palin was more about the Republcan base and demographics than reform.

As long as she does go about supporting legislation that reflects her personal social views, I’d say we are ok–and she hasn’t seemed to yet, in fact, it seems she’s abided by the law and been very fair-minded as governor of Alaska.

      • Maverick

Palin is the best thing that has come along since Apple Pie. She is strictly a reformer of corruption and a link to the furture of cheap, alternative energy. That’s why she is in politics. No other reason needed.
Buh Bye T-Boones, aka Nancy’s Betch. You two were plannning on bamboozling the people in the name of giving us something but your true motive is to fill your pockets. DO NOT NEED OR WANT YOU to rip off the general public masked by alternative energy offerings.

Sarah Palin apparently, as Mayor of Wassila, blocked a bill that would have made abortion illegal. She left it up to a woman’s individual choice, saying it’s not her personal preference, but the Constitution was supreme!

As Governor, Palin vetoed legislation that would not allow same-sex benefits to gays. She said she did not personally believe this, but she had to follow the Constitution and the letter of the law is supreme!

Palin doesn’t sound like a fanatic extreme right-winger to me! She sounds reasonable, moderate and balanced!

And I bet she wouldn’t agree with Obama and Bush casting the vote for FISA! She’d vote same as McCain and Hillary to protect the Constitutional rights of citizens!

        Could Sarah be a crypto-Puma?!

Why don’t these tapes showing Uncle Jeremiah degrade Pres. Bill Clinton and gyrating on the pulpit, clearly simulating a sex act, on the pulpit ever get aired so people can see what UNFIT PARENTS BARACK AND MICHELE OBAMA really are.

To allow their 2 young impressionable daughters to witness such lewd gyrations on the pulpit, let alone the racism, was criminal. Why did Obama not remove his children from such CHURCH PORN-ON-THE- PULPIT!?

Actually Down Syndrome is, by definition, mentally retarded. it is only because cruel people picked up the term “retard” or “retarded” that disability advocates have moved away from using the term. In the same way, moron and imbecile used to be scientific designations.

I have seen MANY people on “progressive” blogs use the word retarded to shoot down someone else’s opinion.
My son has Autism, and at one point he was classified in the borderline mentally retarded range, although with language he has improved.

Gallup Daily: McCain’s Bounce Gives Him 5-Point Lead

The net effect of the GOP convention bounce is that McCain has moved from a trailing position as the convention was getting underway (49% Obama, 43% McCain) to a leading position (49% McCain, 44% Obama).

McCain’s current 49% share of the vote is his best performance in Gallup tracking to date.

Nah, let it stay to give newcomers a nice insight into the grandeur of the Obama supporter.

The first hint I got that all was not well in Obamaland was the thuggish behavior of his supporters online. When the thuggery and intimidation at caucuses began I was disgusted but not shocked. It was just a continuation of what I had seen over and over again online.

Over at Althouse’s blog today there’s an Obamabot calling everybody racists if they don’t vote for The One. How long have they been doing that? At least a year, right?

Attacking the “community organizer” element of the resume is smart and highlights a cultural divide and may have racial overtones. To a “lefty”, being a community organizer is a good thing – it gives you street cred and shows that you can mobilize people to affect political change. I’m sure it helped make Obama appear authentic during the primary season.

To most other people, community organizing is just hippie BS. Some kid running around with a clipboard that says we need to save the Whales. It’s not considered worthy of respect because its not a real job. And a black guy in a black neighborhood doing community organizing is seen pretty much as an Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson – some guy trying to shake down the government.

The truth is that community organizing is pretty useful if you aren’t being served by your government and the issue is clear cut and immediate. Like if there’s environmental problems in your neighborhood or you want the cops to take care of the crackhouse that’s been there for a year. If you’re middle or upper class and things are going okay then you don’t need community organizing.

However, the truth is also that Obama is not a community organizer – maybe he was a two decades ago for a couple years, but it was just something he did for a couple years and wasn’t all that successful. It’s not like he turned South Side of Chicago into a paradise. It’s something fairly low on his resume. However, he opened the door to have the lower half of his resume attacked when he criticized the size of Palin’s small town.

    • Mike J.

Another problem with Obama resume is that it’s merely a list of positions he’s held, but never of things he actually did. Great, he was an organizer (whatever that means–I work on GOTV drives and in my local community association, so when do I get to be president), but what did he ever organize, except that nice mansion for himself and lucrative contracts for crooks like Rezko? His constituents don’t seem to be any better for it.

    • cdo

hmmm. I’m a liberal democrat and putting community organizer on his resume didn’t carry any weight with me what so ever.
It told me his resume was so thin he had to pad it with a job that any high school student can get…and many do.
If it was simply meant to be anecdotal…like, I had a paper route as a kid, then that is one thing.
But Obama seriously had this on his list of accomplishments, as in a reason to qualify him for the Presidency of the United States.
      uhm, sorry no dice.

People who knock his listing it are not knocking the value of the job. They are knocking the weight he gives it in his body of work.

    • Urban Hillbilly

Stop with the race card and the cultural divide BS.

“Community organizers” do not have a record of achievement. Obama has played it as a strength, but McCain used it against him.

Now everyone can question what does a “community organizer” do? Since many of them spend all day long “shooting the breeze” with their buddies– it’s a clear score for McCain.

Sorry, that was the wrong post: (sorry I don’t have a link)

SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER IN THIS HISTORIC ELECTION YEAR
As we head toward the general election, I am reaching out to members of my community regarding profound issues of concern that I hope you will take a moment to consider. I am not a Republican. I am a Democrat and have been one my entire life. In fact, I’m a rather left-leaning Democrat. However, this year history has unfolded in an extraordinary way, and that includes some things you may not be aware of. Note that all of what is stated here is established and corroborated and not the product of internet rumor or any other sort of distortion of the facts.
After winning his U.S. Senate seat, Obama stated that he would not run for President, citing lack of experience and the need to begin running the moment he had just become a Senator. What has changed between when he made that comment in 2004 and now?
Obama has scant experience for this most awesome job of President of the United States. Since when do we elect neophytes for President?
Obama has never remained in any single job or position for any length of time to actually make a contribution. Where do his convictions lie: With those he is slated to serve, or with his own personal ambitions?
Obama has no history of being a so-called “uniter”. Quite the opposite. His voting record as a state senator and in Congress reveals a pattern of digging in or not voting. He does not find common ground in order to gain consensus, unify, and get legislation passed. With no track record of doing so, how does he plan to unite this great country and a highly polarized Washington?
Obama has not sponsored a single piece of legislation during his term as a U.S. Senator. Why should this man be President if he hasn’t even made a mark as a U.S. Senator?
Obama has changed his position on numerous serious issues, including abortion, gun control, Iraq troop withdrawal, campaign financing, and FISA. In addition, this candidate of change has embraced Bush’s faith based initiatives, promising to expand them. Why should anyone trust what he says if he changes his mind so often on substantive issues?
In addition, Obama was the only Senator to vote in favor of a bill that would allow infanticide by allowing babies born alive due to failed abortions to be left to die. He was the only Senator who voted this way, and he did so three times (state and federal votes combined). Even passionately pro-choice Senators voted “no” on this bill. I am pro-choice, but wonder why would anyone in their right mind vote to allow such barbaric behavior as allowing babies born alive to be left to die?
Obama’s word cannot be trust. In addition to his flip-flopping on issues, he has a proven propensity to go back on his word or blatantly lie. In 1996 he went back on his word to Alice Palmer. In 2004 he went back on his word by telling the press and the American people he would not run for President, and then proceeded to run for President. If someone proves through countless actions that they are willing to go back on their word, how can you feel you can trust them regarding anything they say, particularly since there is so little evidence of achievement that all we have to go on is words?
Obama also has a history of affiliating himself with questionable characters, including convicted felons and terrorists. Once exposed, he either claims innocence or minimizes these relationships. He publicly stated that he was unaware of Wright making the kinds of comments and rants that we all came to be aware of, despite having sat in the pews of his church for 20 years and embracing Wright as a mentor and father figure. In addition, early on in the campaign when trying to prove to the American public that he was Christian (a point which is neither here nor there), he stated his weekly devotion to attend Sunday church services. Once Wright became a controversial issue for his campaign, Obama started to back peddle, stating that once his children were born it was hard to go to church regularly. So which is it? Every week or rarely? And what do you make of someone who takes on as a mentor and father figure the leader of a church that elevates the likes of Farrakhan to great heights by honoring him with a Lifetime Achievement Award? Surely there are countless great men and women in the black community worthy of such an honor. Is not the selection of Farrakhan a telling and important piece of information?
When asked about his relationship with Rashid Khalidi, Obama brushed it off as one simply based on the coincidence of them both teaching at Columbia and having children who attend the same school, when in truth, he and Khalidi have scratched each others backs in mutually beneficial ways over the years. How can you trust someone who consciously minimizes a relationship with a former terrorist who was affiliated with the PLO and what do you make of someone having such associations?
Obama claimed innocence about Tony Rezko while receiving large sums of money to support his campaigns and became entangled with him personally over his home and land purchase. Why should you put stock in Obama’s claims to care about Americans when he ignored so many impoverished families living in sub-standard housing in his Illinois congressional district and, to add insult to injury, was in the pocket of the slumlord of those building?
Obama has a history of developing relationships with individuals who express through their words and actions profoundly anti-American sentiments, including Bill Ayers, a terrorist who built bombs that killed fellow Americans and who, to this day, remains unrepentant. Why should anyone have a shot at becoming the President who has someone like Bill Ayers as part of their history?
Obama routinely expresses a confused understanding of history, including his own personal history, noting that he is the product of the march on Selma, despite the fact that he was born four years prior to the march. Why would you accept a candidate who is so willing to distort facts and manipulate public perception in this way?
Obama appears to feel he is above the fray and undeserving of scrutiny, despite applying for the job of the highest office in the country. He routinely scolds the press when they asked him a question or scolds his opponent if he feels at all attacked. How in the world will this man handle the very real and dangerous threats that exist in the world if he appears to lack the fortitude to withstand media scrutiny and attacks made by his opponent in the campaign?
Obama is willing to sit down with leaders of enemy nations. In these dangerous times, can we afford to have an inexperienced President with no international experience and with a stated willingness to sit down with our enemies without precondition? Do you grasp the implications of what could happen with just one misstep, one misjudgment, one naïve, boneheaded choice?
There is mounting evidence of enormous voter fraud and intimidation in all caucus states during the primaries. The evidence shows that this behavior worked in favor of Obama’s campaign. For those interested in learning about this, I invite you to visit http://clintondems.com/ to see video taped testimony (the 3rd video is particularly) and http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/ for written documentary and summary broken down by state. Is it acceptable to you that we elect to the office of President of the United States a man who quite likely stole the election within his own, co-opting party?

      • Tristan

“In 1978, Lois Gibbs, a local mother and president of the Love Canal Homeowners’ Association, began to wonder if her children’s recurring epilepsy, asthma, and urinary tract infections were connected to their exposure to leaking chemical waste. Gibbs later discovered that her neighborhood sat on top of 21,000 tons of buried chemical waste.”

Like I said, community organizing is a good thing when the issue is critical and immediate and is being ignored by the government. Where it backfires for Obama is that he’s a 20-something back kid from Harvard who comes into poor black neighborhoods in Chicago and thinks he can change the world. Twenty years later he’s running for President, and his old Chicago neighborhood’s just as poor.

Here’s an editorial from the Washington Post saying Palin did a great job on Alaska’s pipeline project, a project that will benefit all Americans. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/07/AR2008090701984_pf.html

Ms. Palin’s outflanking of the oil companies injected some competition and urgency into a process that was previously stalled. Perhaps her Democratic opponent for the governorship in 2006, who campaigned on similar ideas, would have achieved these results. Nevertheless, Ms. Palin actually did.

    • ziggy

How can you believe Palin and McCain are really placing public interest ahead of the interests of Big Oil when they’re actually proposing to give Big Oil exactly what they want? Big Oil has been trying to expand offshore drilling and get their greedy mits on the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge for years. Their lobbying efforts have pumped millions into the campain warchests of sympathetic republicans–most recently, over a million into the warchest of John McCain–mostly during the couple of weeks immediately following his change of position on offshore drilling. They’ve capitalized on a largely unexplained and under-investigated spike in global oil prices to sell the scam–despite the fact that our domestic reserves are small and too precious to squander for quick profits, and despite expert testimony that development won’t much affect domestic supply or pump prices.

McCain is casting himself as a reformer, while McCain himself has the single biggest collection of lobbyists of any of the 2008 presidential contenders. His entire advisory staff consists of current or former lobbyists.

We need to separate McCain’s constructed image from the underlying reality.

His $4 million contract was renewed. That’s not good enough for me. In that spirit, it will take me years to trust the NYT and Wa Po again, NBC maybe never.

  • Mike J.

Yeah, I wonder which brain trust came up with the idea of linking McCain to Bush thus, in effect, deciding to run against Bush and not McCain. Because that was a very easy strategy for McCain to defeat. All he had to do is demonstrate that…he’s not like Bush! And that’s not that hard to do. Bush was not asked to be Kerry’s VP in 2004, Bush was not a POW, Bush did not savage Bush in the 2000 GOP primaries.

And, just to to it off, Palin looks and sounds nothing like Cheney. Her choice also greatly weakens the McBush strategy.

    • Indy

I thought that line of attack was lame from the beginning. When McCain sewed it up in the primaries, I believed it was a strong message from the majority (moderate) republicans – they were taking back their party. They knew McCain was the anti-Bush and that is what they wanted.

And thank goodness for them, they chose the only candidate who could beat Obama in the general.

      • ziggy

You can compare McCain policy with Bush policy and a find a point-by-point correspondence, right down the entire list.

McCain isn’t opposing Bush policy. He’s only contrasting his contrived public image with Bush’s public image.

A new package, but the same content. It’s not the box that matters. It’s what’s inside the box. I suggest you might want to study the list of ingredients and see if they differ at all from what came in the Bush box.

        • Keep It Up

          What’s inside Obama’s box?

.. besides saccharin, fructose and ground up unicorn horns?

          • ziggy

That’s not a valid argument, you know. It’s not even an argument. It’s just an evasion.

On all important points, McCain policy is identical to Bush policy. We can therefore assume that McCain policy will produce much the same results.

Ummm… the ‘Multitaska from Alaska’ did not “stop the Bridge to Nowhere.” Indeed, she was for it before she was against it.

    • Patrick

Actually, the publicly known timeline is as such:

      1) She was for it in its infancy because the project was hypothetical when it was originally put forth.

      2) Like any good executive, she investigated the project and weighed the net benefit vs. the overarching cost combined with average inflation costs over the course of the project in years.

      3) She decided that it was a boondoggle and quickly pulled her support, as any right-thinking executive should do.

      4) The initial seed money for the project was already awarded to the state of Alaska in the federal budget. She took that money and used it on more essential public infrastructure projects that benefited hundreds of thousands of Alaskans rather than just 51.

So explain to me why this is flawed?

      Take care,
      Patrick

      • Lark

        Thanks, I needed that.

      • I am Backtrack Oblahblah and approved this message

So explain to me why this is flawed?

Trolls run for cover when you expose their spin and lies.

      • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

        ^ The flaw explained:

“The project was canceled in 2007 by bridge supporter Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who changed her view after national public opinion turned against the bridge for being wasteful spending:

“ ‘Ketchikan desires a better way to reach the airport, but the $398 million bridge is not the answer. Despite the work of our congressional delegation, we are about $329 million short of full funding for the bridge project, and it’s clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island. …’ ” (Gov. Palin)

Therefore, she scuttled the bridge not out of reformist principle… but because Congress wasn’t gonna follow through on the money, because the rest of the country decided that it was a boondoggle while Palin was still supporting it.

Are we supposed to believe you actually care about this when this is the environment that Obama thrived in and did not challenge.

At no point did Obama, the would-be saviour of US politics, challenge this corruption, except for face-saving gestures as a legislator. He was, in his own Harvard law way, a product of it.

Why, you may ask, did the operators of Chicago’s political machine support Obama? Part of the answer was given long ago by the then boss of Chicago, Jake Arvey.

When asked why he made Adlai Stevenson – a man, as with Obama, more famous for speeches than for accomplishments – his party’s gubernatorial candidate in 1948, Arvey is said to have replied that he needed to “perfume the ticket”.

Obama first played a perfuming role as a state senator. His mentor, Emil Jones, the machine-made president of the Senate, allowed him to sponsor a minor ethics bill. In return, Obama made sure to send plenty of pork to Jones’s district. When asked about pork-barrel spending, Jones famously replied: “Some call it pork; I call it steak.”

Obama repaid the generosity. When he had a chance to back clean Democratic candidates for president of the Cook County board of supervisors and Illinois governor, he stayed with the allies of the Outfit. The gubernatorial candidate he backed, Rod Blagojevich, is under federal investigation, in part because of his relationship with Tony Rezko, the man who helped Obama buy his house.

It’s just frustrating when people don’t do any REAL research.

It’s simple. She thought the bridge would be a good idea if it was economically feasible. It became obvious it wasn’t and she used the initial money that the government had already allotted for Alaska in the budget for better projects to better serve Alaskans who, the last time I checked, are also American citizens who deserve some federal money.

          Take care,
          Patrick

          • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

Damn your despicable lies! She thought the bridge would be a good idea… if the American people paid the bills!

Thank God for senators of integrity such as John McCain, who spoke out against such pork-barrelling!

            Oh… wait…

            • Patrick

No, she thought the bridge was a good idea if it was Economically Viable.

I can Wikipedia both ‘Economically’ and ‘Viable’ for you if need be.

And given the fact that every SINGLE state in the union receives substantial amounts of their respective road/infrastructure budgets directly from the federal government (can you say gas tax?), I’d say that everyone posting on this site has had the benefit of the good auspices of the American People’s monies.

The important point is that she became an opponent of the project once she became aware that in order to get the job done, either the Alaskans (who ARE American people, aren’t they?…I’ll check wiki really quick…yes..yes they ARE!!) or the federal government way too much money given the net gain of the project in general and told congress to halt the project.

              Damn your despicable inconsistencies!

              With respect,
              Patrick

            • Dr. Kate

yes, and Barky and Biden voted for the project twice. McCain opposed.

              what exactly is your problem?

              • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

My problem is Sarah “Moose Killah” Palin is a sham.

          • Zeke

            So right Patrick,
My old, broken up Airborne knees can’t take the cold or I believe I’d live there gladly. There is still that attitude there that waiting for someone to do it for you takes too long. It is the nature of the American Frontiersman to gladly step into the unknown, to explore and settle new places. (Damn, sounds almost like the start of Star Trek) There is a thrill to seeing something for the first time which can’t really be found often down here in the Smaller 48, but is still commonplace even among those who live there.
The ancestry I come from, (First Degree Mutt) did the whole, “Settle America” thing, following the Louis L’Amour handbook if you will, and there is something about Alaskans which obviously strums that common chord.
There’s alot of Andy Jackson in those folks. Its something I like and deeply admire.
This country of ours could use a little more of the backbone so readily found in the Great Out There.
Its amazing how others view you when you proudly stand up straight.
            regards

Right… Only if there is a “September surprise”… Naturally, the Republican counter-attack will be mighty, mighty…

          • http://deleted Buzz Latte

The September Surprises all seem to be against Barky.

            Let’s count shall we:

            1) Barky, the DNC, FEC all get served regarding the Berg vs Obama, DNC, FEC lawsuit that has already seen review by a federal judge over Obama’s actual citizenship status.

            2) REZKO is spotted several times going in and out of the federal courthouse – most likely singing to the feds with more details re: the corruption involving Obama and Blagojevich in exchange for a lighter sentence.

            3) SARAH PALIN proves to have more star power and more experience than Barky. And she’s running for VP! She out classes him!

            4) McCAIN and PALIN take the lead in leading polls after the convention after coming behind by at least ten points to now have a statistically significant lead of five points.

            5) McCAIN and PALIN speeches exceed Barky and Biden by large numbers of TV viewers and on less stations!

            6) Attack dog OLBERMANN and tingle thighs MATTHEWS are taken out of the debate line-ups for their drama queen exchanges and blatant adoration of Barky.

            7) Annenberg Papers are reviewed and it is found that Obama and unrepentant terrorist Ayers are more than what Barky stated they are. Obama caught in another lie.

Sheesh, that’s all I can do off the top of my head…and it’s only September 8th. One a day, Barky. What will it be tomorrow?

            BWAAAHAAAA!!

Which shows us since she wasn’t on the “IN” when it all began…that once she was, she realized it was not feasible for the voters of Alaska. That instead of just continuing on with it and costing her constituents how much money? She stood up and did the right thing. Thank you for pointing that out to us, yet another reason TO vote for her.

    • oy

Whatever, man… She did not speak up vocally against it as a candidate (and she could not know all its details as a mere candidate), but when she had the power and the technical information to do so, as Governor, she derailed the whole project, and used the federal dollars for a vast array of projects which truly mattered to the people of her state.

Now, that’s change we can believe in!

    • cdo

she was against it when it counted.
and yes, she helped stop it.

hint–Palin is a republican…it should not be so hard for you to find a legitimate political difference with her.

Obama voted to fund the bridge to nowhere — not once, but TWICE.

UMB won’t tell you that. His talking points need to be updated.

  • Urban Hillbilly

    This is a great ad.

Community Organizers – My Dad, both sisters and myself have all worked with “community organizers” at not-for-profits. We have, for the first time, share the best conversations (funny) about them during this election.

One of my sisters has the best line – “After they leave their jobs, when you clean out their desks, you figure out they didn’t do any work.” She excludes some women she has worked with as COs.

My experiences have been they organize candle light vigils and are interviewed by the TV stations.

It’s a terrific joke and McCain didn’t lose one vote in going after the “community organizers”.

Effective b/c Obama does not have a record of achievement.

  • Felizarte

More trouble for the Obama campaign: OJ Simpson trial begins in Nevada and many voters will be reminded of the Nicole Simpson murders and subsequent controversial verdict. In a toss-up state like Nevada, this could have negative impact on Obama and will throw Nevada definitely into the McCain corner. When it rains, it pours. Not even Hillary and Bill Clinton can help Obama now.

    • lusitania

I don’t see why this trial has any relevance to the election of Barack Obama. To talk about these two situations in the same sentence sounds racist to me. Let’s hope that we have moved past the point where there could be something such as an OJ Factor determining who we elect as President.

There are too many other factors out there that will work against Barack Pbama with real merit to be discussing out there with real merit to be discussing. The TERRORIST FACTOR being one. The ARROGANCE FACTOR being another.

      • gregoryp

Really? You don’t see the connection. Black people lined up all over the streets celebrating a black person getting away with the murder of 2 white people. You honestly don’t see how white law abiding middle-American’s were totally disgusted by that and sickened by it and now we have a candidate who is a pathological liar and con-man being propped up by the lock-step unity of AA’s? You don’t see how that could be a problem? How every day Joes could see an Obama presidency as just another attempt to stick it to “whitey”? I hope it doesn’t have any effect but come on there are consequences for everything. A presidential election is not an island. It is related to everything else.

      • Zeke

I do not believe that pointing out that people with racial fears may lean more toward McCain as the new OJ Trial starts, counts as racism. Their concerns aren’t racist on their part. They have legitimate fears that, since an obvious decision of guilt was intentionally overthrown in the OJ murder case, that their safety and freedom may be at risk if this “Reverse Discrimination” goes further into mainstream politics.
Since one of Obama’s main plans, if elected, is to establish a scenario which promotes Black Reparations, an obvious case of racial discrimination just by its title, is it unfair to state that people in Nevada may be swayed by a reminder that bigotry is a two way street?

        * Divided old from young
        * Divided the well-off from the less well-off
        * Divided the educated from the less educated
        * Divided country from city

UBM, you’re insane. You keep coming back here day after day posting your same irrelevant arguments to an audience that couldn’t care less what goes on in that microcephalic brain of yours and yet you still think you’re going to change people’s minds. It isn’t going to happen so you’re just wasting your false idol’s cash by taking money for it. You need to find a more appropriate line of work, like preaching on a street corner. After a while, you might get good at it.

          • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

Insane? Uppity maybe… but not insane.

Besides… $7 here, $7 there, it adds up after a while.

            • Ferd McBerfle

              M. doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is insanity

              m. You do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result

              ergo: You are insane.

The result I expect is for you to respond.

And it works like a charm.

Exposed Hillary’s weakness as a national candidate?

Is THAT why HILLARY won all major primaries at the END (E.N.D.) of the campaign?

          You’re a fool.

  • Spring

I just read on Savage Politics that someone is advertising on Ebay, Sarah’s child as a “used prop.” Has anyone else heard/seen this????? I am completely disgusted.

  • Steve-O

Maybe he should ask “The Mavericks” if he could use their “Here comes the Rain” from their “Music for all occasions” cd and retext it to “Here comes McCain”…

I don’t know about 58 days. Seems like they easily captured the reform mantra within 1 weekend. Obama never reformed anything in his life while both McCain and Palin have endeavored to change things since day 1 of their political careers. Obama’s whole campaign is literally a joke now. McCain has taken everything from him because Obama had nothing to start with except race baiting and sexism. All Obama can hope for now is that he can continue to trick and deceive his followers and at the same time something catastrophic happens to his opponents campaign. His Muslim gaffe isn’t going to help him one bit either. Really the only out for the demcratic party at this juncture is for legal proceedings to begin against Obama and soon but I think either way the whole party is going to crash and burn.

  • mrduffin

Kinda off of the subject but I thought I would let everyonr know that Ed Schultz of the Ed Schultz show is hosting a lynching of Sarah Pain next Saturday in Anchorage Alaska. He says everyone is invited fully knowing that the only people who show up will be bringing their own rope. Let him know we think this kind of sexist tactic is wrong. Can you imagine what would be said if a radio talk show host did this type thing to BO!! There would be hell to pay you can bet on it!

    http://www.bigeddieradio.com/index.asp

    • cdo

he is going to do this IN Alaska?
      brave man.
he runs the real risk of getting his ass kicked.
at the very least he may be pelted with moose poo.

      • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

Sarah is popular but not with the Democrats…there are a few Left wingers up there and (I have an estranged friend as a result) and they are filled with vitriol and hatred of her. Just your standard Barry talking points but he may attract some of them. I hope though that the majority turn out to be Sarah supporters and send his sorry behind back to wherever. He’s going to Anchorage no doubt seeking whatever liberals may be around to get on the air.

In my last email to my friend, I asked if there was anything she has done that is good for the state? No answer, of course.

    • fluffy bunny

I’ve never heard of this buffoon. Is he supposedly a liberal, conservative, or just pure idiot?

You know, Imus got fired for making a stupid joke…..this guy sounds like he really needs to go.

    • Zeke

Ed Schultz has just committed a “Hate Crime” under federal statutes. What if this were an Obama lynching at the University of Mississippi?
We’d be watching the Feds in riot gear beating the hell out of everybody and taking them off to jail. I hope the Feebs are waiting for that asshat.

    • fluffy bunny

      Oh. “Liberal” I guess.

      gross

    • fluffy bunny

Could you send your concern to the US Secret Service? Mrs. Palin is a candidate for VPOTUS. The USSS ain’t gonna like crap like that.

    • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

Are you describing a metaphorical lynching? I didn’t see anything on the site about rope.

If he put it on his radio show then he needs to be slapped down.

Schultz and the other local liberal talk show hosts carried in Monterey have all been vicious toward Hillary. I stopped listening to our local station early on after requests for fair coverage were to no avail. Tomm Hartman, I understand, even perpetuated the slurs about Sarah and her baby. Used to be mostly about economy, labor and unions but now has joined the dog pack. Too bad. Never again for me.

  • avwrobel

Did everyone hear about Matthews and Olbermann being pulled off election coverage at MSNBC? But its too late, the damage has been done! The only thing that can save this election and right (at least somewhat) the tremendous wrongs done is Obambi withdrawing from the election and Hillary getting the nomination. I still hold out hope that that can happen.

    • Lark

Oblahblah can put an ad now on his accomplishments.

Ruined Hillary. (here comes the backlash)
Ruined Oprah. (trailer on the making)
      Ruined Olbermann.
      Ruined Mathews.
      Will ruin Biden.
      Ruined the Dem Party.

Oblahblah, agent of change for the worse.

  • Artemis

“Political judo” – I like that, Matthew. McCain and Palin, by just being who they are, steal the mantle of change because THEY ARE CHANGE AGENTS not changelings, i.e. shape-shifters, like Obama. Obama vacillates between positions so quickly it makes those who listen to him dizzy, which could explain why his supporters sound so silly.

    • I am Backtrack ‘my Muslim faith’ Oblahblah and approved this message

      Sounds like a logical explanation.

  • TimeWillTell
  • cdo

Does anyone know if the Obots are holding their own candidate accountable for the state of his campaign?
He has changed positions on the Iraq surge, on taxes, oil drilling…anyone know if his supporters are at all troubled by these things?
After Saddleback and the O’Reily interview? Any in-house criticism?
Or do they just blindly follow and think he is just dandy in whatever he does?

    • Lark

Doesn’t he say that his experience matches Palin’s because he manages the millions in his campaign and has 2500 people under his watch?

Manager = I was for it before I was against it. Run that way, no run the other way.

The Dem leadership by now pose as the most ridiculous ever. So much for the rise of the Dem Party. Rose to unending flip flopping.

      • schmog

        Yes, Obama’s logic is this:

I am running a Presidential campaign, therefore I am qualified to be President.

He doesn’t even see the idiocy of that.

        • Firefly

And, just as important, the media refuse to see the idiocy of that – in fact, they (with straight faces, no less) push it as his qualification.

        • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

Not idiotic in the least. Running a presidential campaign is a great test of leadership, managerial competence and judgement. The skill with which the Obama campaign has been run leads one to presume that Obama attracts good people, he knows how to build an effective team.

To me, the best thing Obama has going for him is his competence at running this campaign. I think he would have a smooth-running Administration… not a chaotic one.

Hillary, on the other hand, attracted warring factions of back-biters and leakers to her “team”… and she failed to lead them. We can also make assumptions about the kind of White House she would’ve run, had she won. Chaotic!

          • beebop

I have two words for you and his “judgment:” Chicago MOB.

          • Ferd McBerfle

            sigh…

It’s called manipulation, UBM. and that is no virtue. That’s all he is good at and it goes hand-in-hand with his lying, narcissism, and inflated ego. You’re getting nowhere and should find another line of work.

          • McKatmoon

She didn’t attract those types, those types are similar to what you are by your very name, it isn’t beyond comprehension to think a candidate who is a virtual unknown when have an effort to place their supporters in roles to undermine the oppositions campaign. Again, similar to what the o supporters are doing under the veil of volunteerism, going out to register voters, then blogging about wanting to hit people who don’t agree, or making fun of them, or sign up people who are not entitled to vote in this election. You are only too obvious.

Give Obama credit — as the rest of the political world does — for running a smart, disciplined primary campaign.

As he recently mentioned, he’s been eating restaurant food and suffering jet lag for 18 months (to paraphrase) so yes, he is qualified to be President.

    • Urban Hillbilly

good question. I’d like to know, too.

Seems like they are obsessed with Sarah Palin and her daughters on one hand and bedeviled by small town America on the other!

Maybe Obama’s supporters are just using SP and small town America to distract themselves from Obama’s flip-flops and campaign miscues.

Do you think they realize what a big mistake it was for Obama to snub Hillary and her supporters?

      • wodiej

that is exactly what they are doing w SP…..and yes, they realize the mistake but some people absolutely will not admit mistakes…it’s called accountability and they don’t have it-no one on OBama’s side does.

    • Ferd McBerfle

They represent a cult. There is no dissension in the ranks tolerated.

      • Urban Hillbilly

        yeah, and then, there’s that!
        :)

    • Lin

I ran into a couple this weekend that are Obama supporters. I knew them from a previous project we worked on together. They are much older than myself – somewhere in their late-50s – and part of what I call the *clueless hipsters* who live in my hometown of Austin, Texas.

ANY valid argument I had against Obama that was related to FISA, Reverend Wright, etc., I swear their eyes just glazed over as if they had to go to their *happy place* rather than deal with the facts. Also, they did not feel that Palin’s infant or minor daughter should be off limits to the press. It’s shocking and disgusting, what they have become.

Because I am a Democrat and considered liberal, they just EXPECTED that I would be voting for Obama. They were seething that I was not voting for him and when I politely told them that I had done my research and would NOT be changing my mind, the looks on their faces was a bit frightening; I half expected the *brown-shirts* to swoop down and hustle me away…

The ad above is great. Thanks for posting it. Also, thanks for the post on the Nigerian connection. What is bothersome is that if fraud is being committed and members of the DNC and Democrats in Congress know about it and know that laws are being broken why are they not investigating it. If they do not can they be held liable for being complicit through inaction?

Hillary’s original mantra was that after every Bush America needed a Clinton to clean up.

Suggestion to book writers, Why did her campaign handlers let that fizzle away.

With the economy as it is, it would have left McCain speechless.

You just can’t ever satisfy some people.

      • ziggy

        Here’s another picture:

After 8 years of republican economic policy, the national debt has doubled, the 2008 deficit will be the highest in history, the 2009 budget will push it higher still, the value of the dollar has dropped by 41%, the rate of home foreclosures is the highest it’s been since the Great Depression, the two largest home mortgage lenders in the nation have just went belly-up, and the unemployment rate just jumped more quickly than it has in over 5 years.

McCain is proposing no change in any Bush economic policy. None. Zero. Zip.

So, project all of the current economic trends ahead for another 4 years.

What is your own personal situation likely to be?

It hasn’t been Barack Obama who’s been driving the bus.

        • Patrick

Actually, the difference between McCain and Bush on the economy is stunningly drastic.

Here is a non-wiki link (but yes, it is from the McCain web page, but from the closest we can tell, HIS webpages have not been scrubbed clean of anything).

          http://www.johnmccain.com/Issues/jobsforamerica/

          Take care,
          Patrick

          • ziggy

I’ve studied John’s webpages. I’ve seen no plan or policy changes. All I’ve seen are assertions about rosy results. For instance:

“John McCain believes we should send a strong message to world markets. Under his plan, the United States will be telling oil producing countries and oil speculators that our dependence on foreign oil will come to an end – and the impact will be lower prices at the pump.”

Say what? This happens how? It’s not happening by way of offshore or ANWR drilling. And his energy plan revolves around 35 new nuclear plants and the expanded use of conventional greenhouse gas producing energy sources: coal, natural gas, and oil. You know, the stuff those old traditional industries made record profits on while simultaneously getting enormous tax breaks. Solar and wind power, the actual permanent solutions, are way down on his list. They’re “promising”.

What about that summer gas tax holiday? Where will highway funds come from? Our vital infrastructure is falling apart. Bridges are falling down, remember?

This is totally bogus, top to bottom, side to side. No plan, just rosy promises about results. It’s just like their campain slogan: “Country First–Reform, Prosperity, Peace”.

Country is what republicans haven’t placed first. Reform, Properity, and Peace is a short list of exactly what they haven’t given us.

            • http://home.comcast.net/~vincep312 Vince P

ziggy is calling for us to embrace the Marxist revolution.

              • ziggy

I’d settle for policy demonstrating a modicum of logic and common sense, and a government a little more attentive to the well-being and aspirations of the majority of Americans. I’m not impressed that they make a big display of showing that interest once every four years, while kowtowing to wealth and privilage the rest of the time.

                • Dr. Kate

and you think Backtrack can change this? OR will even know?

                  hahahahhahahahha.

you were way better in a cartoon, ziggy. Did they fire you?

                  • ziggy

At least Obama wants to change things.

If he loses the election, I’ll have to be content with the thought that the republicans will have privilage of watching the sh-t hit the proverbial fan on their watch. It would be a good follow-up to the Bush years.

                • Ferd McBerfle

while kowtowing to wealth and privilage the rest of the time.

You mean like kowtowing to the telecoms (FISA vote)

Better police up that broken glass, zippy.

        • Lin

I am better off now than I was four years ago.

A couple of reasons might be: I didn’t take out a loan on a house that I knew I could not afford and I have not been living above my means on credit cards (a HUGE reason for the financial problems in this country is personal debt).

Whatever happened to personal accountability? You can’t blame it all on government.

          • ziggy

Actually, I’ve lived the same way. I live within my means and try to save so I can take care of myself.

The problem is, I’ve watched the value of my savings drop with the 41% decline in the dollar. My personal financial responsibility has been disempowered by a financially irresponsible government. Remember after 9/11 when Bush suggested the patriotic thing to do was take out a loan and buy a car to keep the economy strong? They’ve also forced interest rates down to the lowest levels in history to encourage personal spending irresponsibility, in order to generate corporate profits. The responsible savers’ bank interest rate went down along with them. The response to complaints is that you’re stupid for not putting your money into the stock market.

I do blame the government, and for most of it. One of their basic responsibilites is to maintain the value of our currency by behaving in a rational manner.

            • sproutingly

True, if your money is in cash, you are in the negative. And look at most of the mutual funds- in the red.

Many people got into loans they didn’t understand. Maybe that is their fault, maybe not. Many people thought their income flow would remain steady. Then they got laid off, sick, etc.

I have learned to be very conservative with my money and enjoy not being in trouble financially. I know that nobody is going to take care of me if bad stuff happens. But I guess it just isn’t in me to blame people for lack of responsibility. Things happen in life, and maybe a downturn in my business or a life threatening illness would shift my financial picture, too.

          • Zeke

            Lin,
You bring up a very interesting point. I think it may be the greatest philosophical difference between to the “two” sides in this. Or should I say, its the degree of this difference which is the biggest issue. (Please, for a moment set aside the obvious reason we are together here, and let’s see what is what.)
Is it fair to say that mainly, in their ideals, not practices, the differences between the philosophies of Dem’s and Rep’s is that Rep’s wish to see an even playing field and winner wins, loser loses: a survival of the fittest scenario where you make it or don’t based on your merits and effectiveness.
Dem’s see that there really is an unevenness on the field and want someone to fill in the low spots. That would mean the ones who were winning. Social safety nets are obviously essential for both sides.

What occurs from this are the varying degrees of commitment to each of those poles which we, as individuals subscribe to. One pole attracts the ultra right kooks and the other attracts the equally radical left. (We’ll use this analogy instead of the hula-hoop this time)
What usually happens here in America is that we elect the candidate who is able to garner the majority of folks in the middle and thus, steering us along the course set by the Declaration and the Constitution.
What has happened this time, even disregarding the illegalities, is that one side in this election promotes ideas which are so far to one pole that, if successful, will force things to remain that way.
Since the massive bunch of us who sit somewhere in the middle are much smarter than we’ve been given credit by the elite, educated-way-too-fucking-much, snooty, know it all, cocktail Marxist fops, we will not fall for their false embrasures of our pet positions.
We know them for what they are, a group of spoiled, Marx quoting sonsofbitches who want to take control and never let go.
Roe v. Wade at worst, under Rep’s, goes under state control. (As our sisters here have said, what have young women fought for recently? Designer cell phones? If they won’t get off their asses to defend their rights, etc,) I am a father of three wonderful women. Each makes her own choice which I respect.
The Economy is the fault of Congress, not Presidents… so they can peddle that seatless unicycle someplace else. Add in that Sarah Barracuda is already thinking up ways to save money for us and my hopes for the economy rise exponentially.
So what does it come down to? What you asked at the end of your message. Personal Accountability.
Whatever happens in this election, we, the people in the middle, will be personally accountable.
            regards

            • ziggy

The Economy is the fault of Congress, not Presidents…

How long were the republicans in control of Congress? How long have the democrats had a majority back? And to what extent have they been stymied by a republican president who subscribes to unitary executive theory?

Are Obama/Biden any farther to the left than McCain/Palin are to the right?

              • Zeke

The Republicans were in control of congress while Bill was president and he took all the credit for that economic success…
And Hell Yes, Obama is much more to the left than McCain is to the right. Obama was raised by a communist, influenced by “Uncle Frank,” the pervert communist, started his career as a politician in the house of a fucking Marxist terrorist and you ask that stupid question? Where the hell you been for the last eight months, in a mason jar?
And was it full to the lid with Koolaid?

        • cdo

since Obama has adopted McCain’s tax ideas…uhm, what was your point?

        • http://home.comcast.net/~vincep312 Vince P

Oh please. like the Democrats would have spent less? Nonsense.

          • ziggy

The fiscal situation sure was a whole lot better during the Clinton years. We were headed toward an actually budget surplus, remember?

Republicans love to rant about “tax-and-spend democrats”. But look at the administrations that have had the biggest deficits and piled on the most debt: Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush. Each worse than the one that came before. George W. Bush has added more to the national debt than all previous presidential administrations combined.

Yeah, the democrats probably would have done a lot better. As usual.

            • sproutingly

At this point I don’t know if anybody, Dem or Repub, can fix this mess. I remember the story of Bill Clinton’s first days in office when they revealed the budget to him and as the story goes he fairly freaked out over the size of the deficit that had been withheld from the public. He realized then that he was going to have to spend his first term focused on the economy, and not do the other things he had planned. He presided over boom times, to be sure, but he didn’t spend more than we had, at least that was reflective of the accounting at the time. Now? We are in much worse shape than we were when Clinton took office in 1992. Whoever is president is going to be blamed for what comes next. So who knows.

            • Zeke

All Democratic congresses, asshat. Learn how government works before trying to pin a tail on the Elephant that belong on the Donkey. Economies run by Congressional vote, not presidential edict.
Congress writes the checks and fills out the data on how much and who to. Sometimes the president veto’s bills, sometimes not.
McCain isn’t a neo-con which is just the other side of the liberal tax and spend coin. He is fiscally conservative meaning that he only wants to spend when the money is there. Gov. Palin is the same way.
You are too ignorant of this country’s inner workings…
Might you be another one of those teenage doofs sitting in a sweaty little Gaza room?

              • ziggy

                Asshat?

You, Sir, are the other end of the elephant. You’re either incapable of or disinclined to engage in discussion without digressing into personal insult. Probably there’s been entirely too much time spent listening to Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. Overexposure has evidently dimished both your clarity of thought and your appreciation for the value of common courtesy.

                • Zeke

I have intelligent discussions with intelligent people. You, asshat, do not, by dint of any of your failed arguments, observations or misogynist opinions, fall in that category. Thus, ASSHAT, I’ll call you anything I choose.
That you so childishly come here ranting nothing but moral equivalence arguments and attacks that you know are false, makes you nothing more than a self declared target for my abuse.
When you can present truth without trying to attach Obama’s foul stench to it, I may respond politely.
But I wouldn’t count on it, Asshat. You’re too easy a mark.

                  • ziggy

Intelligent people, I presume, are those who agree with your own views? This seems to be an increasingly popular delusion on the right.

The abuse is actually pointless. Only ideas matter here. The people who express them are only shadows.

                    • Zeke

                      Thank you, Rod Fucking Serling,
                      Intelligence:
Rational, Higher order. Capable of thought.
Those are some definitions of intelligence.
Lets go with the first, Rational:
Based on Reason or Logic, What is rational about a man who will not disclose his personal info in order to become elected? The law says he must and yet he refuses. What is logical about following a man whose personal idols and mentors have only one thing other than him in common, that thing being hatred for America?
So, you get to be insulted because your arguments are bald faced, immoral lies. I know that you don’t think that is true.
                      Do you?
See, not knowing that’s true is what makes you stupid… get it now, Asshat?

This is interesting. While the O’Reilly interview with Senator Obama is airing on Fox tonight, Senator Obama will be interviewed on MSNBC. Why would he want to be on two different networks with two different interviews at the same time? Has he decided he doesn’t want his Obamabots to watch the one on Fox and is hoping to keep them at MSNBC?

    • sowsear

Same time slot???What time on Fox?

      • Felix Rodriguez

The show starts at 8pm, EST but Bill O normally doesn’t pull out the big gun interviews until the last 15 minutes of the show. I’ll be glued to Fox tonight, that’s for sure.

      • Monet

As Felix mentioned, O’Reilly airs on Fox at 8pm EDT. O’Reilly will be airing his interview with Senator Obama over three nights, tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday.

    • fluffy bunny

Heh. Poor Bill O’Reilly schooled by the Chicago machine. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

      • fluffy bunny

Of course now O’Reilly has those huge ratings … and he can use his time to expose Obama for the backstabbing Chicago machine politician that he is.

LOL couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

    • Dr. Kate

This is interesting. I have read that the FOX interview is pretty bad, and LJ wrote about this earlier.

What I found interesting is that Obama has some kind of make-up on to highlight or show a pretty distracting blemish on the side of his nose. I wonder if that will be there for the MSNBC interview? Some have noted that this blemish kept them from focusing on Obama’s words.

Distraction to have people not listen to his words? Sounds strange to me, but I’m not ruling any deception out by obama.

      • hank48188

Maybe it’s just the lighting on Bill’s show that makes that blemish much more noticeable. I had never noticed it before but in older videos he does have it, I think i would have it removed.

TOTALLY SICK OF IT!!!!!!! They just dont get it. I had to turn off CNN and MSNBC again because they are trying to find the tinyest things to run against Palin. Poor Hillary , the DAMN Dem leaders wouldn’t stick up for her and in my mind she was the front line for Palin and any woman to follow. We must get rid of Obama , the DNC, ands the media. I am sick of hearing that everyone is connected to Bush. Obama said yesterday, McCain wasn’t Bush , Palin is………….they are so stupid, these games will not work anymore. Obama just keeps showing all of us how empty his suit is, and I am especially tired of these Dem women senators who are ripping Palin apart. They didn’t stick up for Hillary, and they won’t stick up for any woman. They are basically one of the good old boys and need to be ousted.

Watched Greta last night for the show on Sarah. Very good. Tonight is being advertised as “Live from Anchorage: Who is Sarah Palin?” Sounds as if Schultz may have been co-oped by Greta…who appears to be a Sarah fan. Enjoyed her show last night a lot.

    • McHope

Greta has been doing a great job introducing Sarah Palin to the public. Now she will be interviewing those who have grown up with her and have seen her work firsthand.
Will the interviews with those from Obama’s past be coming soon?

    • Zelda Crunch

Watching that right now. It’s very good. I mean VERY good!

      The woman’s so genuine.

  • Milly

Ahh, keep trying hard ‘detractors’ to smear this great accomplished woman, but keep also in mind, due to her position of being the governor of Alaska, this is the real deal,

    http://www.blackfive.net/main/2008/08/commanding-the.html

“One area of Sarah Palin’s background that may help her is Alaska’s unique role in our national security and homeland defense.”

“Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden’s.

She’s also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country’s defense. Given Alaska’s proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don’t even know about.

According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

I agree with that assessment except for the thought that her access to classified material may rival Biden’s. Highly unlikely as Biden’s seat on the Foreign Relations committee would expose him to information on a very wide array of topics. But her experience in keeping the homeland safe fits perfectly with her image as the competent American woman. It’s not the same as having your finger on the button, but it a heckuva lot closer than Biden or Barry O has ever been.

It will be tremendous fun to watch a couple of complete political tools like the Hope&Change duo attempt to attack a record of substance not words, a record of action not bloviation, a record of kicking ass and taking names against what now…….?”

Now what about that ah Oblame, what, we just be focused that you are are a graduated from Harvard with ‘Magna Scum Lautrin’, ‘community organizer’ what planning birthday’s parties? Come on, accept this a great selection that deserves credit to Sen MCcain…be strong Sarah…yes you will!!!

    MISSILE DEFENSE IN ALASKA

‘Nightline’s’ Terry Moran got an exclusive first look at the missiles and soliders who work and live at one of the nation’s most remote military outposts. Fort Greely, nestled deep in the heart of the Alaskan wilderness, is home to the nation’s front line in missile defense. Moran and veteran producer Ely Brown were allowed an exclusive look inside the Alaska National Guard’s 49th Missile Defense Battalion control center to view the operations of field interceptor missiles that are designed to knock out incoming enemy ballistic missiles targeting the United States.

Trollz are dealt with on occasion but some of us see them as delicacies. I admit that the quality has slipped a bit, probably Trotsky’d under the bus, I imagine.

  • hank48188

McCain needs to do a Ad about the first time he bucked his Party, he was a Congressmen and Reagan was President. Reagan sent Troops to Lebanon to help keep order, McCain was angry and called Reagan out, said we had no strategic interest there and should not send Troops. Not long after the Marine Barracks was bombed and more than 100 Marines were killed. It wasn’t long after that when Reagan removed the Troops, McCain was correct.

    • Zeke

      Hank!
Damn good point. The Beirut debacle was a costly farce alright and I think the casualty number was even higher. As bad as the decision to go in there was, the military commander of that operation was terribly unread in urban deployment tactics.
It is an unfortunate rule of combat that lessons are very rarely live and learn. They are even worse when they are lessons someone has to die to learn. And even worse than that when incompetence jumps in to run things from the other side of the world.

    • Zelda Crunch

McCain like Schwartzkopf is a guy who’s been on the line and knows what it’s like. He’s not a greedo – he knows war is bad.

Obama don’t know shit. He wants to pull out of Iraq because it’s not popular to be there and Obama always goes with the popular opinion.

But Obama is not a peacenik – under the campaign he kept trying to scare people with his bullshit about redeploying to Afghanistan – you know the country where he’s in charge of a senate committee he still hasn’t fucking convened in nearly two years?

BTW why don’t the other senators just boot his butt off that committee and appoint a chairman who is honest and will do the job?

  • Docelder

Speaking of community organizers… The Obots have come out with a T-shirt saying Jesus was a community organizer… He wasn’t a Saul Alinsky community organizer. I never heard of staged protests, and Jesus never wrote the biblical equivalent of Rules for Radicals. Let me borrow from the Wikipedia on Saul Alinsky and his writing… see if this sounds anything familiar:

Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution.

Well, it should because Obama taught this to groups. Ever wonder what “community organizers” do… now we know. Qualifications for POTUS? Not IMHO… Cuba Maybe but not the USA. Just my take on it.

LETS ALL HOPE OUR MEDIA FRIENDS CONTINUE TO ALSO SHOW AN INTEREST IN REPORTING ON THIS AMERICAN HORROR FACING THESE (TENS OF THOUSANDS) FORGOTTEN AND TRAPPED POORER AMERICANS, AND HOW THIS PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDER HANDLES THIS VERY SERIOUS ISSUE FACING AMERICA’S LATINO AND BLACK AMERICAN COMMUNITIES ????

WITH 80% OF THE BLACK AMERICAN VOTERS SAYING THEY SUPPORT SENATOR OBAMA IN THIS PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, IT IS ONLY FAIR FOR EVERYONE TO KNOW PRIOR BEING ELECTED OUR NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES HOW THIS DEMOCRATIC SENATOR TRULY FEELS ABOUT THIS AMERICAN JUDICIAL HORROR CONTINUING TO INFLICT GRAVE HARM ON THE BLACK AMERICAN FAMILIES AND THEIR COMMUNITIES NATIONWIDE ??????

*** WHEN GOD’S FACE BECAME VERY RED ***
THE US SUPREME COURT GAVE ENEMY COMBATANTS FEDERAL APPEAL HC RIGHTS LAWYERS AND PROPER ACCESS TO US FEDERAL COURTS,AND POORER AMERICANS (MANY EVEN ON DEATH ROW) ARE DENIED PROPER FEDERAL APPEAL LEGAL REPRESENTATION TO OUR US FEDERAL COURTS OF APPEAL, AND ROTTING IN AMERICAN PRISONS NATIONWIDE ?????????

***THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE $LOWLY FINDING OUT HOW EA$Y IT I$ FOR MIDDLE CLA$$ AND WORKING POOR AMERICAN$ TO FALL VICTIM TO OUR U$ MONETARY JUDICIAL $Y$TEM.

****WHEN THE US INNOCENT WERE ABANDONED BY THE GUILTY ****
The prison experts have reported that there are 100,000 innocent Americans currently being falsely imprisoned along with the 2,300,000 total US prison population nationwide.
Since our US Congress has never afforded poor prison inmates federal appeal legal counsel for their federal retrials, they have effectively closed the doors on these tens of thousands of innocent citizens ever being capable of possibly exonerating themselves to regain their freedom through being granted new retrials.

This same exact unjust situation was happening in our Southern States when poor and mostly uneducated Black Americans were being falsely imprisoned for endless decades without the needed educational skills to properly submit their own written federal trial appeals.

**INNOCENT AMERICANS ARE DENIED REAL HC RIGHTS WITH THEIR FEDERAL APPEALS !!
This devious and deceptive judicial process of making our poor and innocent prison inmates formulate and write their own federal appeal legal cases for possible retrials on their state criminal cases,is still in effect today even though everyone in our US judicial system knows that without proper legal representation, these tens of thousands of innocent prison inmates will be denied their rightful opportunities of ever being granted new trials from our federal appeal judges!!

Sadly, the true US *legal* Federal Appeal situation that occurs when any of our uneducated American prison inmates are forced to attempt to submit their own written Federal Appeals (from our prisons nationwide) without the assistance of proper legal counsel, is that they all are in reality being denied their legitimate rights for Habeas Corpus and will win any future Supreme Court Case concerning this injustice!

For our judicial system and our US Congressional Leaders Of The Free World to continue to pretend that this is a real and fair opportunity for our American Middle Class and Working Poor Citizens, only delays the very needed future change of Federal Financing of all these Federal appeals becoming a normal formula of Our American judicial system.

It was not so very long ago that Public Defenders became a Reality in this country.Prior that legal reality taking place, their were also some who thought giving anyone charged with a crime a free lawyer was a waste of taxpayers $$.

This FACADE and HORROR of our Federal Appeal proce$$ is not worthy of the Greatest Country In The World!

    From the link you posted:

From the day he nominated Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AZ) to be his vice presidential running mate, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and his campaign advisers have been repeating the lie that Palin opposed the infamous Bridge to Nowhere.

I stopped there. Notice the Palin (R-AZ). This is slipshod journalism of the worst sort.

Hillary in 2016, go peddle your trash elsewhere.

  • Ferd McBerfle

That crap has already be debunked, Obamatron. Go peddle your bilge elsewhere, like Obarky’s website.

  • ziggy

Yep. I’ll consider the possiblity that Sarah might be a sincere reformer when she takes that big chunk of federal change out of the Alaskan treasury and returns it to the taxpayers of the other 49 states. $233 million?

She proposes to give each Alaskan household a $1200 energy check. Maybe they’re dividing up the booty…

  • McHope

Did she stop the bridge or not?
Did she do what was right for her constituents ?
What do you want in the elected officials that represent you? Do you not prefer they represent your best interests?

  • Ferd McBerfle

I already sent you a link, troll. The money formerly earmarked for the bridge was released for more worthy projects. I’d say that’s a wise decision.

  • Zeke

    My Gawd!
Do your thoughts just dribble out of your asshole all day long? Your answer, dipshit, is that it all “Depends.”
    GFY

  • ziggy

Sure. And then I prefer that they remain honest about what they’ve done, when the topic comes up in another context.

Ms. Palin has distorted a story to demonstrate that she’s a reformer. She has distorted a couple of other stories as well, to convey a more favorable impression of herself.

It bothers me that she’s taken that tack from the first moment she got up in front of the American people. Why shouldn’t that bother me? A short time ago she was a complete unknown. There’s still a lot I don’t know, and I’m not sure I can consider her an entirely reliable source for the information.

  • Ferd McBerfle

My question to you, troll, is this:

Did she stop the pork-barrel bridge from being built? A yes or no answer will suffice.

Once you answer, you can drop this non-issue.

  • Ferd McBerfle
  • Ferd McBerfle

You lie like a cheap hairpiece. The money was earmarked under federal highway funds (you know, Zippy, our gas taxes). After cancellation, the money was then used for more appropriate highway work.

  • Ferd McBerfle

Keep up the trolling, Zippy. You’re just wasting your time. But then your time is worthless, anyway.

  • ming the merciless

Worthy projects where? The money came out of the pockets of working families living in forty-nine other states, right?

  • ziggy

    *S* Good metaphor.

  • B.O. Stinks-Michelle Said So

    ziggy,
And Obama is as pure as the first snow fall in December.

  • ziggy

I don’t believe I’ve ever suggested that. I’m too much of realist. Politicians as pure as the new-fallen snow are mythological creatures. *S* Unless you want to count the snow that falls in Chicago.

  • Zeke

    Why Ming,
You lying sack of dung… which working families would that be? The ones already being taxed to the hilt or the ones Obama have planned?
And do some research sometimes you numbnuts. The money for that bridge wasn’t for that bridge any more than the money for the highway you drive locally was for that.
Damn! Why don’t you troll jerks ever look up something other than shit on your own website or Wikipedia?
The Federal Government gives out monies to ANY STATE for highway upgrades and maintenance as long as the states fall in line and keep the speed limits set by the Feds. The funds are discretionary so even if the state says it will do one thing with the money, it can change its mind and spend it on other, more deserving and worthwhile projects. Gov. Palin was within her rights and more importantly acted within her responsibilities to her citizens.
Shovel your prole shit someplace else.

  • Ferd McBerfle

In Alaska, where the pork-barrel bridge was to have been built, you monumentally obtuse obamabot. The money, being given TO Alaska, was then used for more worthy projects. Is there any part of that statement which your tiny brain cannot comprehend? I suppose, in your reptilian brain, the bridge should have been built.

  • ming the merciless

    I’m obtuse?

Federal taxes, collected acoss the entire nation, doled out to one state that justified their request by citing the need for a specific project… A gubernatorial candidate who endorsed that project then changed her tune after her election and after getting the money, calling what she’d previously promoted a wasteful scam… But keeping the money and using it for something else…

She then holds herself up as a reformer by ridiculing the very project she herself had endorsed. “Thanks but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere.” It’s a good line, but it loses a little something once you know the part of the story she has thoughtfully omitted, every time she has told it.

  • Ferd McBerfle
