Sandi78, as I understand it, the governor of each state is in control of the National Guard in their state, thus being the Commander in Chief. ANd if there were incoming missiles, I imagine the governor would act first to intercept, while getting in touch with the Pres. to see what next. Given the proximity to Russia, I would think the Gov. of Alaska has an additional burden other governors don’t have. If someone knows more, please share!

Bush used 9/11 footage politically throughtout his reelection campaign. Pretty much what I would have expected from the likes of George W. I really thought the McCain campain would be more respectful.

Why would he need to insult anybody? Sticking to the facts is more than enough to show what a total load of manure the McCain/Palin campain is attempting to slip by the voters. The way they’re trying to manage it is by claiming the smell of their own policies has to do with their opponents. Trouble is, it smells a little too much like the same old load of George W. Bush manure to actually pass a sniff test.
