I feel the same way and resent the fact that the media is stopping the clip at “it’s still a pig”. It’s the next line that completes the insult but they don’t want people to see the truth. I’ve had enough of this chauvinist.

Obama is worse than disingenuous, he’s a a bold face liar! Does he think Americans are that stupid? I guess he’s gotten away with lying to us so many times, with the bias left wing media looking the other way, that he thinks he can get away with anything … like, “I never heard Pastor Wright make an anti-American racist remark in TWENTY YEARS”. The democratic argument that the lipstick/pig remark was used before doesn’t hold any water, because it was used in a different context. This time it’s obviously a nasty slur directed towards Palin, in lieu of her lipstick
pit bull remark. Elect McCain/Palin in November 2008.

You know, let’s say Obama didn’t really mean the lipstick remark as a slight to Palin.

Consider this: Since she made the lipstick joke in her speech, the word has become almost nationally synoNymous with Sarah Palin-Hockey Mom.

This was absolutely NOT lost on the Obama campaign – they can’t pretend that they didn’t hear it or know the coverage it got.

Soooo. Why would Obama be so stupid as to inadvertently open this can of worms by throwing out the lipstick reference when any fool in the country KNEW it would be seen as dig at Palin? HIS AUDIENCE CERTAINLY MADE THE CONNECTION – INSTANTLY!

So take your pick. Either the guy meant to insult Palin, or he’s oblivious to what’s going on in the country or he has again DEMONSTRATED HIS LOUSY JUDGMENT.

Before I allow myself to become irate over something a candidate on either side says, I do the “fairness test”–how would I feel if someone from the opposite party did/said this? So I ask you all, how would you feel if John McCain had said this comment? Or rather, I should ask, “How DID you feel when John McCain said this?” Because he did say it–about Hillary Clinton’s health care proposal.

Last October, McCain said Clinton’s proposal was “eerily” similar to the ill-fated plan she devised in 1993.

“I think they put some lipstick on a pig,” he said, “but it’s still a pig.”

I don’t remember hearing anything about McCain’s comment on the news back then. But if I had, I would have thought it surprising that people would have misinterpreted an old saying like that.

EXACTLY RIGHT!

I too have heard this insult used.

It’s placement in his speech tells the tale.

1) lipstick on the Palin Pig
2) wrappin the stinkin’ fish (Palin)

both insults were pointed at her. Many people who haven’t heard this slang and aren’t familiar with it…trust me, with a guy like Barry… he was talking about “the woman”.

Call me gullible, but it looks to me as though Cindy has forgiven him for it.

& by the by, sweetie: when Meeechelle Obama has done a fraction of the charity work Cindy McCain has done, or maybe if she were just to decline the 200% raise she got when Mr. Hopey Changey earmarked hundreds of thousands of dollars for her employer–you know, that hospital where her primary task is ~~dumping~~ steering uninsured patients (i.e. poor blacks) to “other facilities?”– then maybe you could mention her name in the same breath as Cindy McCain’s–or Cindy’s short-tempered husband’s, for that matter.

Finally, you would do well to remember what pumas do to jackasses, whenever their paths cross. Yummm!

Maybe Bill Clinton suggested the pig/lipstick line to Obama during their private meeting.

But Rasmussen has Obama/McCain tied today, so I see no reason for premature rejoicing.

What does she need to say? Right now, let’s focus on Obama that is providing enough fodder to sink his campaign. Palin is VP pick anyway. I think Obama missed is civics class and thinks he’s now running against Palin. Outclassed again, just as he was by Clinton. Obama’s response: use smears.
