And the comment above mine from Deborah is a prime example of what is wrong with this country, and it comes from both sides of the isle. People like her would rather hurl insults and degrade another person than act like an actual human being with a shred of common sense and decency. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior from either party, or their supporters.

While I am not one to defend politicians, as they all tend to say and do stupid things, (God knows Obama has said more than his fair share over the course of this campaign), I see no merit in this particular claim of sexism. But, before I go on, I should also note that I am more of a Libertarian than anything else, so I don’t really care for either candidate.

This wasn’t the first time Obama used that phrase. It just happened to be the first time he used it after Palin’s lipstick joke. When taken in context of all Obama said, he was referring to the Republican ticket and party in general, not any one person in particular.

For McCain to make a big deal out of this is a bit hypocritical when you think about it, considering he himself used the exact same phrase when referring to Hillary Clinton and her platform. Does that make him sexist as well? He doesn’t seem to think so because he was referring to her take on things rather than her as person. I didn’t hold that against him at the time and he should not be holding this against Obama, because nothing personally negative was meant by it.

I am not going to try and change anyones opinion of what was said, because you are going to believe what you want to believe and most of you seem to hate Obama so much that anything that can be twisted to sound sexist will be despite the facts.

Here is something I found to be sexist even though it wasn’t reported on, and it came from the Republican National Convention of all places. There were delegates on the floor wearing Palin campaign buttons saying things such as “I am voting for the hot chick”, or “Hoosiers for the hot chick”, or “hot chick, cool ticket” Nice of the Republicans to reduce their VP nominee to a piece of meat that looks good in a dress.

To be fair, neither one of the candidates is going to do anything they say they will. Neither one will change anything with the exception of adding to the National debt with their economic plans.

I can only hope that one day an election might actually be about the issues that people face rather than one candidate crying that the other is picking on them.

Lipstick on a pig is a saying according to an entry in 2004 in the “Urban dictionary” http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=lipstick%20on%20a%20pig

The definition of the phrase is: “lipstick on a pig”…slang for when someone tries to dress something up, but is still that something. usually used on ugly broads, when they put on a skirt and some lipstick and well, they still look like the same digusting pig. ”

So not only is she a pig, she’s ugly to boot. Sort of like Hillary’s ankles I guess.
