Here are a few articles from both the US and international media about the US Presidential race. Highlights of each article provided with a link to the full article.

Democrats Just Don’t Get It as Sarah Palin Pounds ‘em
By Michael Goodwin in the New York Daily News.

First of all, here’s a bulletin: being pro-life and pro-gun doesn’t automatically make her look stupid to most Americans. Second, she’s no rookie at the politics/media game, as her record, convention speech and stump appearances prove.

Third, well, do we need a third reason to prove the Dems are way off course in expecting the media to destroy Palin? If anything, there is a backlash against ganging up on an underdog.

The line about insanity being a case of doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result applies to the Barack Obama camp. Underestimating Palin before her debut last week was a big mistake, but they’re so sure they’re right they’re doing it again.

Obama Turns Into Dukakis, Kerry, Gore
By John Brummett of the Northwest Arkansas Morning News.

One thing Democrats stand for — or we thought — is ending the war in Iraq. So now Obama says the surge is working. One thing Democrats stand for — or so we thought — was a well-articulated position to protect a woman’s right to choose abortion. So now Obama says the morality of the abortion issue is “above my pay grade.” Then he says he doesn’t like the way he put that.

Please — somebody send for Hillary, quick.

‘I am a Liberal, but I’m Blown Away by Sarah Palin’
By Rebecca Johnson in the UK Telegraph.

Once upon a time, I also would have been contemptuous of Palin’s incurable optimism but, having been knocked around by life a bit, I now understand what a gift chronically happy people are given.

Life hands them difficulties -a Down’s syndrome baby, a 17-year-old daughter pregnant before her life as an adult has even begun, a much-needed job on the oil and gas commission that comes with too many strings – and she is not flummoxed or depressed or angry or self-pitying. She endures.

My liberal friends were outraged when rumours about Barack Obama attending a Madrassa or being a Muslim surfaced on the internet, but all week they have been gleefully trading emails of Sarah Palin distortions.

Deriding Palin’s modest background and lack of Ivy League credentials will only turn voters off. We should celebrate what is groundbreaking about Sarah Palin: a card-carrying member of Feminists for Life is a big step forward from Housewives for Life. And then we should talk about the issues.

Reeling in The Barracuda
By Tom Cardell in the Southwest Philly Review.

Here’s another reality for you: Don’t ever underestimate your opponent and the Democrats are in danger of doing just that. Palin is not some pretty, empty-headed piece of fluff. She may look like the cosmetics salesperson at Macy’s, as The New Republic’s Martin Peretz jokes, but she’s ambitious, smart and a quick study. If you think Palin will wilt under the pressure of a debate with Joe Biden or a “Meet the Press” appearance think again. You are being set up for a letdown. An intimidated media is already telling us it has low expectations for Palin. Low expectations means you can already write the headline after her debate with the better-qualified, more-experienced Biden: “Palin holds her own in debate.”

Autumn Angst: Dems Fret About Obama
By David Paul Kuhn & Bill Nichols in Politico.

Polls showing John McCain tied or even ahead of Barack Obama are stirring angst and second-guessing among some of the Democratic Party’s most experienced operatives, who worry that Obama squandered opportunities over the summer and may still be underestimating his challenges this fall.

“It’s more than an increased anxiety,” said Doug Schoen, who worked as one of Bill Clinton’s lead pollsters during his 1996 reelection and has worked for both Democrats and independents in recent years. “It’s a palpable frustration. Deep-seated unease in the sense that the message has gotten away from them.”

Joe Trippi, a consultant behind Howard Dean’s flash-in-the-pan presidential campaign in 2004 and John Edwards’ race in 2008, said the Obama campaign was slow to recognize how the selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as McCain’s running mate would change the dynamic of the race.

The World’s Verdict Will Be Harsh if the US Rejects Obama
By Jonathan Freedland in the UK Guardian. Note: I wouldn’t waste your time reading this one but I wanted to show that the insanity isn’t just limited to this side of the Atlantic. The summary should suffice.

For Obama has stirred an excitement around the globe unmatched by any American politician in living memory. Polling in Germany, France, Britain and Russia shows that Obama would win by whopping majorities, with the pattern repeated in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. If November 4 were a global ballot, Obama would win it handsomely. If the free world could choose its leader, it would be Barack Obama.

Barack Obama Was Run Over as He Took to Middle of the Road
By Tom Baldwin in the Times of London.

Barack Obama is beginning to resemble the man who turns up to a fancy-dress party in a suit while criticising everyone for what they are wearing: lipstick, fish wrappers or, maybe, the mantle of change. Chastened by the summer’s sneers surrounding his celebrity status, they decided it was time to dim his dazzle a little by donning more sober and serious apparel. Mr Obama chose Joe Biden as his running-mate rather than more exciting alternatives because he expected the Republicans to attack him over a lack of weight and experience.

The Angry Left Should Beware of Palin
By Rod Dreher in the Dallas Morning News.

Does the Angry Left really want to launch a culture war over Sarah Palin? Fine. Lock and load.

That’s the feeling of many conservatives who until last week were lukewarm at best about the prospect of a John McCain presidency. The unhinged malice of the cultural left’s assault on the Alaska governor’s personal life has focused their minds and stirred their hearts. Palin’s astonishingly poised and confident performance in her convention speech proves that this Iron Lady is not about to quail before the judgment of her would-be betters.

Neither will conservatives. If they were indifferent or hostile to the Republican ticket, the cultural elite’s savage treatment of Palin reminded them of what’s really in play this year. It’s the same snarling spite for small-town folks, religious believers and anybody else who was on the wrong side of the 1960s.

What’s Behind Palin’s Appeal to Women
By Fred Barbash in Politico.

“They see themselves in her,” as scholar Diane Ravitch said, and they see the things they care about.

“White women are supporting Palin because suddenly issues they live with everyday are finally being discussed, balancing work and family, the challenges of having a disabled child, the heartbreak of teen pregnancy, the agony of having a child in military service and so on,” said former Rep. Patricia Schroeder, a Democrat who is now head of the Association of American Publishers. “These issues are often cited by politicians in political speeches, but nothing is ever done to help families cope with all these modern day pressures.”

“Working women have the common experience of being passed over for a younger, less experienced, male who was supposed to be the great new talent,” said Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) “They now see Obama’s choice of Biden over Clinton through that lens and, I suspect, resent it. The same perspective gives working women a unique appreciation for McCain’s choice of Palin.”

Sarah Palin Gets a Warm Welcome Back in Alaska
By Stephen Braun in the Los Angeles Times.

Gov. Sarah Palin returned triumphant to her home state Wednesday for the first time since she was named to the Republican ticket with John McCain, and received thunderous cheers as she promised 3,000 supporters: “I will do my best to do Alaska proud.”

Palin reprised many passages from her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech at the party’s convention in St. Paul, Minn. But she steered away from explicit attacks on the Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama, instead gushing about her home state and its sudden role in the limelight.

Democrats on Capitol Hill fear Obama fallout

    By Andrew Ward in Washington

    Published: September 11 2008 23:30 | Last updated: September 11 2008 23:30

Democratic jitters about the US presidential race have spread to Capitol Hill, where some members of Congress are worried that Barack Obama’s faltering campaign could hurt their chances of re-election.

Party leaders have been hoping to strengthen Democratic control of the House and Senate in November, but John McCain’s jump in the polls has stoked fears of a Republican resurgence.

A Democratic fundraiser for Congressional candidates said some planned to distance themselves from Mr Obama and not attack Mr McCain.

“If people are voting for McCain it could help Republicans all the way down the ticket, even in a year when the Democrats should be sweeping all before us,” said the fundraiser, a former Hillary Clinton supporter.

“There is a growing sense of doom among Democrats I have spoken to . . . People are going crazy, telling the campaign ‘you’ve got to do something’.”

Concern was greatest among first-term representatives who won seats in traditionally Republican districts in the landslide of 2006. “Several of them face a real fight to hold on to those seats,” the fundraiser said.

Tony Podesta, a senior Democratic lobbyist, said members of Congress were “a little nervous” after Mr McCain shook up the race with his choice of Sarah Palin as running mate and intensified attacks on Mr Obama.

“Republicans have been on the offensive for the past two weeks . . . You don’t win elections on the defensive.”

The campaign manager for a first-term Democratic congressman from a blue-collar district in the north-east rejected suggestions that Mr Obama had become a liability. He said his candidate would reach out to Republicans and avoid attacks on Mr McCain.

It’s not just women who like Palin. I am a office mgr. of a Dr.s office and there is a bar on one side of me and the American Legion on the other side. After work, I go out back to get some air and usually there are a few from each building having a cigerette. Well there are some big guys who served in Viet Nam and business owners who stop by the bar to unwind. They all freakin love Palin and thinks she has what it takes. I asked them tonight if they thought the “lipstick” quote from Obama was just a slip up. All of them said, “Hell no” He meant it as a slam to Palin.” They aren’t voting for Obama at all. Some of these guys were Hillary supporters.

Good point. If the “rest of the world” wants us to elect him, it means they see him as weak and easy to manipulate. They want him because it would make things better for THEM, not for US.
“The World” wanting us to embrace him is the biggest reason there is for rejecting him. We would be the playground of terrorists and other countries wishing to squander what is left. We must reject him completely, showing “The World” that we are not going to succumb to their rule, but retain our own rule and our own power. Rejecting Obama tells them that the United States of America is a soveriegn nation, the strongest in the world and a force to be reckoned with, not a country they can easily assimilate into the “New World Order” or “take over” if they want.
Accepting Obama would give the rest of the world the signal that we have run our course as a world power and we are fair game to whoever wants to move in. To keep our life, liberty and happiness, we must stand strong in our democracy and show the rest of the world that we are not ready to back down, we are not ready to step aside, we are not ready to relinquish our position to anyone at any time.

  • Freedom Fighter

Obama knocked it out of the ballpark with the Olbermann and O’Reilly interviews, whil Palin had that moose in the headlights look in the Gibson interview. The contrast cannot be more stark. It’s time for Palin to drop out of the race.

  • Ani

How can I contain my rage when I read crap like this.

Pelosi, Dean, Brazile, Kerry et al decided to let their Clinton Derangement Syndrome dictate their actions rather than common sense. Thesee selfish fools handed the nod to Obama — Hillary has been telling them for months privately I am sure that he cannot win this election.

We have been saying the same thing since March 15th (when the Rev. Wright scandal broke).

These hopeless boobs could wind up losing us Congress, too. We’ve been saying for months he was a drag on down ticket Dems and his continued arrogance and insults to small town voters and to Hillary and to Sarah Palin do nothing to assuage people’s dislike of or resistance to him.

  • jd4hill

Please give this nonsense a rest. You know better. Really.

Obama’s campaign is reeling because of Palin and yet Obama continues to show disrespect to her and to the American people by not bothering to show up in PA, by not doing his homework and continuing the same trite nonsense that hiasn’t really been working for him for months.

You have every right to support whom you wish and truly, good luck to you, but I can assure you, your statements are convincing no one here.

I am so confused as to why you would waste your valuable time making them.

This lady is more than holding her own and she did a damned site better than Biden has been doing, and than Obama has been doing.

Obama couldnt knock it out of the park if he tried, uh ah ummm er aah uumm. As for Olbermann, that raving sexist idiot would like to suck Obama’s toes on National TV, that is quite clear- that is not exactly an interview.

O’Reilly getting Obama, Mr. let’s bring the troops home now (oops or maybe not), to admit that the surge (which McCain has been touting despite its unpopularity) was a wild success!! That’s hitting it out of the park?

He picked the wrong VP, which Biden just admitted himself, and was wrong on the surge and is wrong to keep insulting the voters. Let me stop here.

  • lark

I noticed that also and I found it strange. He usually follows very carefully what the other candidate do to imitate it. But this time he expected McCain to throw it and when McCain placed the rose in the water he had already committed to throwing it and he couldn’t take it back. Sort of like the Biden fiasco, where he can’t take it back. I think he saw early in the day many people throwing the roses, so he thought it was okay for him to do it too. But it looked quite insensitive in my opinion.

RickRickRick – interesting that you mentioned Obama threw his rose while McCain reverently laid his down. I hadn’t seen it, but my father saw it – a man who (unlike his daughter)has managed to keep a cool head and calm demeanor about the obvious bias shown towards Obama….til now. He called me tonight and was irate that Obama had thrown his rose. That was I think, the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back for him.

Yeah, the polls are really showing that he “knocked it out of the park” all right. His interviews were more of the same “nuanced” groping for the perfect “politically correct” answer designed not to offend anyone, just like voting “present” over a hundred times as an Illinois state senator. Well, the President of the United States doesn’t have the luxury of voting “present”.

Yes, it is time for change….but the true CHANGE we CAN BELIEVE IN! This is simply not the way or means to go about it! Mr. O is just NOT the ONE he claims to be, not by a long shot as we all agree upon. I for one, an Independent minded Soul, am now willing and able to sacrifice this time around and choose what might be the biggest decision in my entire life. In a war with the U.S., Russia would last about twice as long as Saddam Hussein’s Republican Guard — about two weeks. There’s not going to be any war with Russia. But Putin would run rings around Obama and squeeze us with his oil & gas weapon.

The main thing is not to let Putin rebuild the Soviet empire, because if that ever happens, then there will be a war. And also, make sure he doesn’t recruit Al Queada to do his dirty work.

I never thought I would say this but damn….I REALLY feel kinda sad when it comes to some of Obama’s supporters. Reading comments in regards to Palin interview was an eye opener. It was like they picked certain words out and gave them a whole new meaning..all while saying McCains campaign was over because Palin wanted to go to war with Russia.

Frankly I was speechless because they managed to twist it so bad by the time I got finished reading from the top of the comments to the last one, they literally had an entire dialogue of what she “said” in the interview that was entirely different from what she actually stated.

Even when the author gave a link to the entire transcript so they could read the entire thing in context. Damn I know people want Obama to win but this reminds me of how Senator Clintons words were blown up into something to cause fake outrage among BO supporters.

One guy even wrote that she should not even had responded to the question on Russia and Georgia by using the word “war” because it was Sept 11th.

The person that responded to THAT statement took it further by even inventing a response Gov Palin should of quoted about how she should of told Gibson because of Sept 11th it wouldnt be appropriate to respond to the hypothetical question because of what today signifies. Then about four different posters became UNHINGED in there rants that this was a “game changer” for the McCain campaign because Palin wanted to go to WAR with Russia.

I dont know about anyone else but this kinda shit is Scary as hell. They ACTUALLY believe the stuff they are making up and saying.

  • frenchman47

Palin didn’t ‘fail the test’ with her response to the question regarding American involvement in a war if Russia invades Georgia or Ukraine and at the time said countries (Georgian and Ukraine) are members of NATO. She said that if Georgia and/or Ukraine is a member of NATO, as a member nation they can/should rely on help from their NATO allies. She’s RIGHT. The whole purpose of NATO after WWII was for countries to join together and ‘cover each other’s backs’ in the event of aggression by a country not in the NATO alliance…………duh, you’re the one who’se wrong.

  • Irish1139

You dumb ass. Palin did not say she would start a war with Russia. You need to listen to the whole interview and get a grip on yourself.

Fake Obama sex video ‘a trap’

SAN FRANCISCO – CYBER crooks are trying to cash in on fascination with the US presidential race by sending trick email promising a sex video starring candidate Barack Obama, according to Sophos computer security firm.

Email recipients gullible enough to click on an enclosed link get to see a seemingly homemade sex video that doesn’t feature the presidential contender but does secretly install malicious software on people’s computers.

‘This email has been spammed out widely across the Internet, claiming that US senator Barack Obama has been in a sex video while he was in the Ukraine and all you have to do is click on the link to view the movie,’ Sophos technology consultant Graham Cluley said in a video posted on the firm’s website.

‘If you were to click on that link … spyware is installed on your computer which steals your passwords and your banking information and sends it to cyber criminals.’

Ill-intended creators of malicious software are quick to seize on hot topics to dupe people into opening files or executing applications that allow stealth programs to invade their machines.

The tactic is referred to as ‘social engineering’ because it involves fooling computer users instead of hacking past security software or firewalls guarding systems.

Ruses have involved sending bogus emails promising images or video of celebrities or from major disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis or hurricanes.

‘So next time you receive an unsolicited email don’t just blindly click on it,’ Mr Cluley advised. ‘You could be getting into danger.’ — AFP

Here is a talking point I took from the public service forum with the Republican and Democratic Presidential candidates tonight at Columbia University, which none of the pundits who have weighed in thus far has subsequently addressed.

In response to a question, Senator Obama clarified that while he advocated limiting government in some instances was preferable, under some circumstances, government had been a boon to the country. For example, he cited, “Without the government, we wouldn’t have the Civil Rights Act.” Presumably, he was specifically referring to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, legislation both championed by President Lyndon Johnson and signed by him into law.

But when Senator Clinton, then his opponent for candidate for the Democratic nominee for POTUS, similarly credited President Johnson with carrying out the civil rights agenda championed by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Senator Obama and his minions cited her comments as further evidence of their charges she was racist, accusing her of marginalizing the achievements of a black man over a white man (who, formerly a legislative powerhouse in Congress, now thrust into the position of POTUS, was able to both promote legislation and sign this into law).

Apparently WaPo is changing the story already:

    The Post Makes a Change
    The Standard’s John McCormack e-mails:

Here is the new second paragraph:

The idea that the Iraqi government under Saddam Hussein helped al-Qaeda plan the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, a view once promoted by Bush administration officials, has since been rejected even by the president himself. But it is widely agreed that militants allied with al-Qaeda have taken root in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion.

Maybe, just maybe, they are getting the idea to tone down being such a-holes, but I doubt it.

    The original:

The idea that Iraq shared responsibility with al-Qaeda for the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, once promoted by Bush administration officials, has since been rejected even by the president himself. On any other day, Palin’s statement would almost certainly have drawn a sharp rebuke from Democrats, but both parties had declared a halt to partisan activities to mark Thursday’s anniversary.”

I have been lurking but wanted to respond to you on the Clintons. I am from Arkansas, lived here when he was gov. They both worked tirelessly for this state, and to them, it didn’t matter what color you were, or your social standing. They were for you, the people of Arkansas. He was the same when he was President of this great country. They both really care for this country and the people. To have them trashed by their own party, Obama and these so called Democrats has been a disgrace and unhonorable. Now, the same ones are going after a lady who seems to be an honorable lady. I have been a Democrat all my life, and I am in my 60′s now, but I will not be voting for Obama. Whatever he is, he is NOT a true Democrat, and neither are the ones running the party. I am angry, sad,and disgusted. I am also afraid of what will happen to this country should Obama manage to grab the President’s seat. I really do not believe he is really for the country and the American people. Senator Clinton most certainly was, and they didn’t want her. So be it. I will not give my vote to them and make it appear as though I approve of what they have done. So sorry I just kept going on and on.

My husband was recently on a negotiating committee between NECA (an electrical contractors’ group) and the IBEW (electricians’ union). Both these groups are overwhelmingly Democratic. The conversation turned to the election. Out of 10 or 12 guys on the committee, not one plans to vote for Obama. None. Nada.

Carolyn Mann: I heard a gentleman from Florida on the radio a few weeks ago, has a factory that employs 800+ union workers, and he says they overwhelmingly support McCain. He said that what people fail to understand is that Yes, these guys are union workers, but “first and foremost, they are patriots”.

  • Carolyn Mann

    FF,

And didn’t Obama say he would invade Pakistan? It might be better to fight with Russia than get involved in a holy war.

Yes. They see him as their advocate. He’d be working for them, not us.

  • Carolyn Mann

Not only is he still flustered, every time he gets his little feelings bruised, he holds such a grudge. He’s still moping over perceived slights from the Clintons during the primaries, and because of that, he couldn’t bring himself to do the one thing that might have brought the party together — choosing Hill as his VP. The man lacks emotional maturity. What would he do the first time the Russians or the Germans stabbed him in the back?

  • DannaB

    From the Ben Smith blog…
“The electoral map, four years on…

A reader notices a familiar state of play on Electoral-vote.com, a site that maps polls onto the electoral vote.

    9/11/08: Obama 273, McCain 238, tied 27

    9/11/04: Kerry 273, Bush 233, tied 32

The only differences: Kerry lead in New Mexico and Nevada was tied; Obama leads in Nevada and New Mexico is tied.

A lot of the “redrawing” is reflected in polling in states from North Carolina to Virginia to Montana, where the numbers are closer than usual, and the campaigns fiercer — but where the Republican is ahead.”

So much for redrawing the map of 57States?? LMAO!

And we all know how that ended. ;)

BTW, where was MEchille today at the 911 ceremony. Cindy, looking good as usual, was there.

  • DannaB

I have often thought of the prospect of rank and file union members bringing a class action lawsuit against the union for funneling a portion of their union dues into funding political campaigns of candidates not supported by a substantial number of rank and file members. Substantially all union political contributions got to support a democratic candidate, yet in any given election, the rank and file may be substantially even in splitting its vote between republican and democrat opponents in any race. In effect, the union organization is taking money from a rank and file member to contribute to the organization’s preferred candidate, whom the rank and file member opposes.

In California, although not a union issue, attorneys must be members of the California State bar which collects dues. The Ca State Bar was successfully sued on these very grounds in that a portion of mandatory dues being used to support association lobbying efforts to promote certain legislation violated freedom of association for members that opposed the legislation. Now, mandatory dues may not be used for political purposes, but members may pay an optional fee to fund lobbying efforts.

DannaB, this sounds like “union-busting” rhetoric. Perhaps doing some research on labor laws before there were unions would be a good thing to do. A Union Member/PUMA

  • DannaB

It’s not union busting at all, it is just allocation of union dues to support union governance and not outside political activities. As a union member and a PUMA, do you agree that a portion of your dues should be used as a contribution to the Obama campaign, or do you feel should the union contribute to campaigns that each member should have the right to determine how his/her individual contribution is used.

  • JozefAL

That won’t do for Obama. The German President is little more than a figurehead. It’s the CHANCELLOR (the German version of “Prime Minister”) who wields the real power.
Europe has a much stronger division between their “heads of state” and “heads of government”. In the UK, the Queen is the head of state and the Prime Minister is the head of government. On the Continent, where Repubican forms of government exist, the President is the (less powerful) Head of State, and the Prime Minister (or Premier or Chancellor) is the (more powerful) Head of Government. The Heads of State usually serve absolutely fixed terms of office and rarely leave office early (except for death or other personal issues or some political scandal) while Heads of Government serve terms with nominally-set periods but may be forced to hold new elections well before their term is up.

I don’t want any more armies or any more of this bullshit community service..we had=ve all done that before and if we are needed we all jump in..we don’t need Obama’s little brownshirt army on our streets..period!

    Check out : Exposeobama.com

this was in my inbox today.,.and it is quite alarming!!

    According to Investor’s Business Daily:

“Big Brother had nothing on the Obamas. They plan to herd American youth into government-funded reeducation camps where they’ll be brainwashed into thinking America is a racist, oppressive place in need of ‘social change.’”

And Barack Hussein Obama wants you to pick up an even greater portion of the tab. In fact, accrding to Investor’s Business Daily, “Obama wants to fully fund it and expand it into a national program that some see costing $500 billion.”

The only questions that remains is; was Obama talking about his expanded vision of Public Allies when he stated; “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded as the military”?

Was he talking about Public Allies when he stated in his acceptance speech; “If you commit to serving your community we will make sure you can afford a college education”?

Is that why Public Allies is often called “Obama’s Brownshirts.”

Why does “the world” think we give a flying fig what they think of our choice for Prez? Do foreigners believe that we long for their values or pine for their praise? Just because they constantly berate us for being arrogant, bullish, crude, bigoted, gun-loving, overly religious, etc., so they imagine that we crave their approval and/or want to be just like them? The truth is, of course, that Bobo would be a much better match for sub-Saharan Africa with its ubiquitous political corruption or the low countries, with their far-left culturalism. To many Europeans, Bobo’s church and other radical organizations must seem of no more import than a cafe where pseudo-commies meet to trash the establishment. The USA is a unique place, and most Americans want to keep it that way. Bobo’s “world tour”, that to many brought memories of Hitler’s speeches and sieg-heiling crowds, damaged him greatly. Then the convention evoked a Greco/Roman temple! These people don’t have a clue. They ignored the problem of race and daintily get woozy at the very mention of it even yet, but after Bobo’s landslide loss we’ll be hearing about it ad nauseum.

    New Obama Ad

Not every person in America likes or uses a PC. My hubby won’t touch one, my son-in-law either. There are millions of older people who won’t use one either.

Obama mocks McCain as computer illiterate

“Today is the first day of the rest of the campaign,” Obama campaign manager David Plouffe says in a campaign strategy memo. “We will respond with speed and ferocity to John McCain’s attacks and we will take the fight to him, but we will do it on the big issues that matter to the American people.”
The newest ad showcasing their hard line includes unflattering footage of McCain at a hearing in the early ’80s, wearing giant glasses and an out-of-style suit, interspersed with shots of a disco ball, a clunky phone, an outdated computer and a Rubix Cube.
The campaign was heartened that Virginia media focused instead on Obama’s planned message of reforming schools and drawing contrasts with McCain over education policy. Aides say Obama will continue to highlight differences on issues – like tax policy during a visit to New Hampshire Friday – with the constant theme that Obama will bring change while McCain is no different than Bush.*

    http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080912/D93535MG0.html

*Obama is no different than Governor Rod Blagojevich, they both are from the Chicago Political Machine. (Both are friends of Syrian Tony Rezko, now in prison.)

As is the past so goes the future

”In 1999 Obama supported and voted for legislation (HB2660) allowing Illinois’ Governor Blagojevich to pay the state and teachers pension obligations, by issuing $10 billions dollars in state bonds backed by the pension plans. The bill, designed to free up money to balance the state budget, was paramount to robbing Peter to pay Paul. The bill’s own supporters estimated that the bond issue would end up costing the state $23 billion dollars (assuming the State met future funding obligations, which it has not) and would set the stage allowing Illinois’ Governor to divert billions of dollars from state pension plans in subsequent years. Obama also voted to end $300 million worth of tax breaks for Illinois businesses and raise more that 300 different taxes and fees on those businesses. Ironically, after supporting Governor Blagojevich’s $2 billion dollars in increased spending, the State still suffered it’s second largest deficit since 1980.

I will remind you of one thing, Barack Obama is the byproduct of a well-known Chicago political machine; a political machine that has been mired in corruption and scandal throughout its history. This same political machine that runs all three branches of Illinois government is responsible for the election of Illinois’ governor, Rod Blagojevich; a governor that ran on a platform essentially the same as that of his supporter & friend Obama. Like Obama, Blagojevich promised to unite Illinois, end corruption and abuse of executive powers, balance the state’s budget and expand social programming. 6 years later we have a Governor that has spent the State into virtual bankruptcy, robbing State sponsored pension plans of billions; attempting to sell off the State’s Lottery system and bonding authority; diverting millions of dollars from State Agricultural programs and the State’s Transportation Funds; diverting billions of dollars in funds earmarked for the State’s Medicaid program, forcing Medicaid Reimbursement to be not months, but years behind; all to fund his overblown populist social programs. Blagojevich has raised professional and business fees across the board, most recently attempting to institute a gross receipts sales tax that would have destroyed small businesses. Under his leadership the State has seen a mass exodus of health care professionals and the destruction of interstate commerce. Blagojevich, like Obama, has strong ties with corrupt and dubious figures such as Tony Rezko. He has not only failed to end partisanship in Illinois, but has actually succeeded in splitting the Illinois Democratic party. Blagojevich has abused his executive power at every turn, most recently suing his Democratic colleague, the Secretary of State, to force a radical expansion of the State’s health care programs; an expansion that the Democratic State Legislature directly rejected in last years record-breaking year long legislative session. A governor, that today, is rarely seen in public, won’t take interviews in the press, and who now faces a bipartisan effort in the legislature to institute recall election protocol like that of California.

Obama, like Blagojevich, is a product of the same corrupt Chicago political machine, preaching unification, while dividing their own party and constituents.”

Figures Ohitler is just going through the motions. Sounds like his life. A lazy son of a bitch who expects everything handed to him out of some feeling of entitlement.
—————————————————–I don’t think his reaction is out of laziness, I think he truly hated being there, watch his facial expression. This man hates america and doesn’t want to honor the memory of those who died on 9/11. It truly shows in his expression and throwing the rose.

To what Obama did was a “spit on their grave” action. Oh I do loathe him and his wife. My hubby isn’t too political in some ways. But he noticed MO was NOT there. BO probably felt he could not control her bitter mouth. That whitey tape may have come to life right there. Look at her hateful stare, she sure wanted that camera to go away.

Why was he so fixated on dinosaurs? I think it is pretty much established that they roamed the earth at one time. Ever notice how some of these people (like him), their eyes slide to the side? Reading a teleprompter or lying? Now Pamela Anderson is saying how Sarah sucks. In fact who gives a rats ass what that has been says? And now Hollywood is taking up Jesus was a community worker crap…. Hollywood is like these foreign countries, if they are in favor I am against it.

Cyber crooks set email trap with bogus Obama sex video

Cyber crooks are trying to cash in on fascination with the US presidential race by sending trick email promising a sex video starring candidate Barack Obama, according to Sophos computer security firm.

Email recipients gullible enough to click on an enclosed link get to see a seemingly homemade sex video that doesn’t feature the presidential contender but does secretly install malicious software on people’s PC.

The Dems have totally blown it! They had a chance to nominate Hillary, and instead, they chose Obama an “empty suit” with an empty resume. If Hillary was the candidate right now, she would be ahead in the polls, and the country would be excited. However, based on some polls, Republicans just might make gains in congress. The gig is up Obama, and the American people have really got your number – great TelePrompTer speeches written by your lackeys, but still just an “empty suit”.

Along comes Sarah [go girl!] and he shrivels up as she gets into his head. Yea, he would really be good going up unconditionally against Putin. Speak about running with your tail tucked up behind your behind.

Every night I pray that the MSM continutes to attack this absolutely fantastic woman, and Obama will sink down even further. She has shown that she can take the fastballs of Charlie Gibson [the one who delivered very slow pitches to the ONE.] I was amazed that Gibson was so poorly prepared.

Incidentally, thank you to the blog master for this wonderful blog, it is a daily read.

BTW, FF, she’s running for VICE President. Or can’t Obama handle comparing himself to McCain? (and I’m not a McCain supporter, but making this about the VP candidate is a loser of a move – it only keeps reminding everyone how BAD his judgment was not to ask Hillary to be VP – 18 million voters can’t ALL be wrong!).
