The 9/11 Forum is on Fox News at 8:00 p.m. ET, hosted by Brit Hume. My understanding is that John McCain will speak for 45 minutes. The two candidates will shake hands. Then Barack Obama will speak for 45 minutes.

Although this should be a real debate — not another softball format like Saddleback — it should be somewhat revealing about the two candidates.

Frankly, it was always my belief that the US had preemptive strike rights as a superpower.

The Bush Doctrine simply laid it out in both writing and practice with Iraq.

When the fool should have framed it as a humanitarian imperative when Bush 41 told the Iraqis if they rose up we would help. Resentment would build and the US should keep it’s commitment. He could have done it respectful to 41. That he was correct in his decision at tghe time but 9/11 was a game changer. No matter his true intentions for war. History would record Bush as that ‘warrior for freedom’ position he is trying to claim now after several re-writes.

Anyway, back to the point, who didn’t believe that the US would strike first if the evidence supported the decision? Even prior to 9/11 and the Bush Doctrine?

My wife and I were discussing why he had not had it removed, as it is clearly getting bigger. Our conclusion is that if he did, he’d have to (1) disclose if it was cancerous or not and (2) he’d be forced to release his medical records, which he thus far has not done.

Let’s see, 1981… I was on the U.S.S. Coral Sea (CV-43) sitting at the Strait of Hormuz for something like 102 days because of Iran. Not much time after that we hat troops in Lebanon, plus we were shelling it. I think we also bombed Libya at least once or twice around then. Maybe not declared war, but not a quiet peace.

Hearing Obama speak is similiar to watch a dog chase it’s tail. It’s amusing for a few seconds, but that’s it.
