I guess we "community organizers" again are the ones who are not the "Insiders" -- The Obama people have indeed reallocated their field organizers from Georgia to other battleground states, but the organizations they built this year remain in place, being run by local volunteers who live and work in these communities. And we continue to register hundreds of new Obama voters in my town alone weekly -- new voters who do not register as Dem or Rep and dont show up in the vaunted polls. (I registered four in the last hour myself.) So, the implosion referred to may well be occurring, but here in 159 homegrown county Obama organizations statewide what we see is continued enthusiasm, new volunteers daily, and growing ranks of voters who intend to vote for change in November. SO it could be that the "implosion" will occur Nov 4th, and its victims could well be the poll-reading "insiders" who take their cues from what lands on their desktop screens, while the action has been taking place outside, door-to-door in the neighborhoods of Georgia and other so-called "imploding" states. They are idle but still the oil companies and the GOP want to open up even more lands for extraction. The question is, why don't the oil companies do domestic extraction on lands already cleared by all levels of government? Answer: because they want to be able to book those leased lands and it's oil as assets to inflate their balance sheets. That's why. The allowing of offshore drilling should have been made CONDITIONAL on existing extraction on already cleared lands.
