No she woud not have. There are some state things going on in Kansas that would have killed any chance here. We haver more children then ever living in poverty!…The Kansas State Veterans Commission is all amok…..and a real problem that won’t be fixed despite the fact they are getting a new director. The city of Wichita was literally inundated with water on Saturday….a problem the state has done nothing to help alleviate….they got 10 inches of rain in less 24 hrs…..

The other thing Sebelius forgets, the history of Kansas is deeply rooted in the Republican Party…We are a very right wing state in some places very liberal in others like Lawrence which is called “Little Boston” the area was originally settled by people from the Northeast….we do stand out from most states…we were the first state to vote on women’s right though it did not pass….

I’ve been a McCain supporter from the beginning, but I have to admit, as a woman past fifty, every time I saw Hillary on TV I felt a sense of pride, like we’ve finally reached that point — where gender won’t keep us from competing. I knew the media, along with Pelosi & gang, were in the tank for Obama, but watching that video drives home just HOW MUCH.
Seeing what the media is doing now to Palin is like watching a replay. Both these women should be applauded for going into this arena and standing firm.

Geeeeeze! How many more of these Obama supporters going to express their “fear” of Sarah Palin? It’s gotten old and I thought the Republicans played that card.

Sebelius is the daughter of a former Ohio governor. Her husband is a federal magistate judge and the son of a former US Representative. In 2007, she traveled to Istanbul to attend the annual Bilderberg Group meeting.

Like Obama, she attended private schools. Like Obama, she is considered an elitist who is out of touch with the middle class.

According to friends in Kansas, while she criticizes McCain for being out of touch, it is she who is out of touch. And that is why McCain is winning the State of Kansas.

Sebelius has no room to judge McCain or Palin.

Can we just call this election what it is? An asshat parade. I mourn for the discourse we might have had if the convention had only sent the man cub back to Illinois. Instead we’re down in the gutter with the hypocrites and the sociopaths. Instead of talking about issues we’re getting to hear about the scandalous color of Sarah Palin’s fecal matter.

Well Obamamessiah showed such great executive prowess that he didn’t even bother to “vett” Hillary and the Obama campaign made sure Hillary’s 18 million supporters knew it. Well I always enjoyed Bill Clinton’s intelligence, and never agreed “every word out of his mouth is a lie”, and don’t know what Hillary’s motives were sticking by him, but surely do not discount a deep love, in fact I consider it likely the only possible reason.

Touching video–it should have been Hillary vs McCain this election. As nasty as politics are, I really think McCain and Hillary have a profound respect for each other — they are both centrists. Obama, on the other hand, wants to take this country far from where we want to knowingly go which is why he takes contradictory stands depending on the audience. It’s been a topsy-turvy political season.

The Democratic Party, which has considered itself the champion of women’s rights for decades, couldn’t bring itself to nominate its most highly qualified female candidate and almost guarantee a return to the White House.

The Republican Party, which has the national stereotype of limiting women’s rights, has shown a trust in women by putting a female on the presidential ticket.

Many Democrats have criticized this move by the Republicans with personal attacks and lies against Governor Palin such as the ones Senator Clinton has had to withstand in her political career.

My closest sense of comprehending all of this comes from what Taylor Marsh wrote months ago, when I still went to her Website: Republicans understand that elections are about *winning*.

I’m a Kansan, and Sebilius lost my vote the day she endorsed Obama. Her explanation that her son told her to vote for Obama seems like sound political decision-making. Not! (Would this be the same son who was running an internet business out of the governor’s residence?) As a Kansan, I’m sure hoping Sebelius is not making any state governmental decisions with that same decision-making strategy.

It’s obvious that the Dems would not be crying so loudly about Palin’s misgivings if they didn’t see her as a major candidate and a major roadblock to an Obama Whitehouse. If Palin was really as weak as they all say she is, they would just leave her be…knowing that the strongest ticket would prevail.

I did really notice one part of Sebilius’ comments: “no company CEO would ever choose a top lieutenant and potential successor” in this manner. That statement applies more to Obama than to Palin. I’ve been saying for months that no company or goverment entity would HIRE a person for a leadership position with so little experience as Obama has. The equivalent to letting Obama lead the nation would be appointing a first year teacher to be the US Secretary of Education. (OK, I’ll give Obama the benefit of the doubt, let’s say a second-year teacher). Or hiring someone with two years experience to be CEO of Boeing. Added to that, given Obama’s reluctance to release personal information and his documented history of building relationships with a convicted felon (Rezko) and an admitted terrorist (Ayers), Obama most likely couldn’t even pass the background screening to be hired as a police officer or FBI agent.

Yes, Sebilius lost my vote and my respect the day she endorsed Obama.

The idea that Pontius Pilate was a “governor” in the sense of that we understand the position in the U.S is ridiculous. Judea, as part of the Roman Empire, was governed for time by vassal kings, such as Herod and then his sons. Thereafter, 7 procurators served as chief administrators for the emperor, including Pilate from 26-36 C.E.

The term “governor” is sometimes used to refer to these procurators – but only as a term of convenience. They had nothing in common with today’s governors in the U.S. These procurators were not democratically elected(they were selected by the emperor), they did not function in a federal republic (they functioned in an imperial state), etc., etc.

I find this line of defense of Obama’s early days in Chicago (he was like Jesus, a community organizer, and Palin is like Pilate, a governor) to be one of the most idiotic lines of defense ever employed.

Compensation figures for [Obama's] legislative staff reveal that Obama pays women just 83 cents for every dollar his men make.

A watchdog group called LegiStorm posts online the salaries for Capitol Hill staffers.

Based on these calculations, Obama’s 28 male staffers divided among themselves total payroll expenditures of $1,523,120. Thus, Obama’s average male employee earned $54,397.

Obama’s 30 female employees split $1,354,580 among themselves, or $45,152, on average.

Among Obama’s five best-paid advisors, only one was a woman. Among his top 20, seven were women.

Again, on average, Obama’s female staffers earn just 83 cents for every dollar his male staffers make. This figure certainly exceeds the 77-cent threshold that Obama’s campaign website condemns. However, 83 cents do not equal $1. In spite of this 17-cent gap between Obama’s rhetoric and reality, he chose to chide GOP presidential contender John McCain on this issue.

Obama responded Aug. 31 to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s Republican vice-presidential nomination. Palin “seems like a very engaging person,” Obama told voters in Toledo, Ohio. “But I’ve got to say, she’s opposed — like John McCain is — to equal pay for equal work. That doesn’t make much sense to me.”

McCain’s 17 male staffers split $916,914, thus averaging $53,936. His 25 female employees divided $1,396,958 and averaged $55,878.

On average, according to these data, women in John McCain’s office make $1.04 for every dollar a man makes. In fact, all other things being equal, a typical female staffer could earn 21 cents more per dollar paid to her male counterpart — while adding $10,726 to her annual income — by leaving Barack Obama’s office and going to work for John McCain.

Among [McCain's] top-five best-compensated staffers, three are women. Of his 20-highest-salaried employees, 13 are women.

In short, these statistics suggest that John McCain is more than fair with his female employees, while Barack Obama — at the expense of the women who work for him — quietly perpetuates the very same pay-equity divide that he loudly denounces.

Plus Greenspan’s bad judgment caused the sub-prime crisis by allowing the housing bubble to spin out of control. I don’t have any respect for the guy–after years of his management the economy’s in tatters. He deregulated like heck, leading to Enron, Anderson, and all those scandals. It always drives me crazy when people cite Greenspan like he’s a God. The bubbles of the 90′s (dot com, housing) were exacerbated by Greenspan, making the crashes that much worse.

There is no issue which provides a starker contrast between the McCain and Obama than their attitude towards the Global War on Terror. This is one area where no American should be deceived by happy talk or seduced by the intoxicating effects of Obama’s Kool-Aid into taking a chance. 911 not only cost the lives of thousands of innocent civilians from 85 countries, it also sent the US economy into a devastating economic downwind. When the President took over the country was already heading towards a recession caused by the bursting of the dotcom bubble. After the catastrophe of 911, it would not be until June 2003 that the US economy would start to add jobs.

Every time Obama promises another Government handout for his adoring supporters by reallocating dollars away from the Global War on Terror, its important to remember that nothing will damage business confidence, and therefore tax revenues, more than another catastrophic event such as 911. Without tax revenues, every single one of Obama’s expensive promises which many already regard as wishful thinking become guaranteed non-starters.

In any case, recognizing Obama’s “commitment” to redeploy troops from Iraq to Afghanistan its far from clear where Obama plans to find substantial savings in the Global War on Terror…in other words he wants it both ways…”rhetorically” tough on terror while simultaneously promising the dollars to his anti-war constituencies.

We will open “America Houses” in cities across the Islamic world, with Internet, libraries, English lessons, stories of America’s Muslims and the strength they add to our country, and vocational programs. Through a new ” America’s Voice Corps” we will recruit, train, and send out into the field talented young Americans who can speak with — and listen to — the people who today hear about us only from our enemies.

Yes it would be nice to sit down with our enemies and talk through our differences in the spirit of finding a solution so we could all work towards global peace. But the simple fact is its not possible to negotiate with people who do not want to negotiate. The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies–civilians and military–is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy mosque from their grip, and in order for their armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated and unable to threaten any Muslim. This is in accordance with the words of Almighty God, “and fight the pagans all together as they fight you all together,” and “fight them until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God.”
This is in addition to the words of Almighty God “And why should ye not fight in the cause of God and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated and oppressed–women and children, whose cry is ‘Our Lord, rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will help!’”
We — with God’s help — call on every Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it. We also call on Muslim ulema, leaders, youths, and soldiers to launch the raid on Satan’s U.S. troops and the devil’s supporters allying with them, and to displace those who are behind them so that they may learn a lesson.
Almighty God said “O ye who believe, give your response to God and His Apostle, when He calleth you to that which will give you life. And know that God cometh between a man and his heart, and that it is He to whom ye shall all be gathered.”
Almighty God also says “O ye who believe, what is the matter with you, that when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of God, ye cling so heavily to the earth! Do ye prefer the life of this world to the hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the hereafter. Nothing tells me Obama “doesn’t get it” more than his oft-stated position that we should give ILLEGAL aliens drivers licenses. Investigations into 911 confirm that having easy access to drivers licenses was one of the enablers for that grotesque act of slaughter. Another compelling reason to just say no deal to Obama.

BARACK OBAMA V. JOHN MCCAIN

McCain believes America was an innocent victim of Islamic terrorism.
TODAY’s joint visit to Ground Zero may give the impression that John McCain and Barack Obama share a common analysis of the causes of 9/11 and how to deal with its legacy. They don’t.
The divide starts with the question: Why was America attacked?
McCain’s answer is simple (or, as Obama might suggest, simplistic): The United States was attacked because a resurgent Islam has produced a radicalism that dreams of world conquest and sees America as the enemy.
In different shapes and sizes and under a range of labels, that radical streak of Islam has waged war on America since 1979, when Khomeinists seized the US embassy in Tehran and held its diplomats hostage for 444 days.
The killing of 241 Marines in Beirut in 1983, the first World Trade Center attack in 1993 and a host of other operations that claimed more American lives were episodes in a war – the reality of which the United States faced only after 9/11.
McCain doesn’t hesitate to acknowledge that his country is engaged in a Global War on Terror. He doesn’t believe that 9/11 might’ve been prompted by some wrong America did to others. To him, the nation was an innocent victim of “Islamic terrorism.”
McCain asserts, “America faces a dedicated, focused and intelligent foe in the War on Terrorism. This enemy will probe to find America’s weaknesses and strike against them. The United States cannot afford to be complacent about the threat, naive about terrorist intentions, unrealistic about their capabilities, or ignorant to our national vulnerabilities.”
He’d pursue and fight these “enemies” wherever they are – including, especially, in Iraq. “If we run away,” he says, “they are going to follow us home.”
OBAMA, by contrast, doesn’t use terms such as “the Global War on Terror” or “Islamic terrorism.” Nor does he claim that America was simply an innocent victim.
In one speech, he used the image of a US helicopter flying over the poor countries in Africa and Asia, where it’s seen as a symbol of oppression. He says his objective is to turn that helicopter into a symbol of American aid to the downtrodden.
For Obama, the threat comes not from terrorists but from “extremists” and their “program of hate.” He never uses such terms as “jihadist,” judging them hurtful to Muslims. He speaks of “violent extremists who are a small minority of the world’s 1.3 billion Muslims.”
In one speech, he claimed that the Islamists aim only at “creating a repressive caliphate.” He seemingly hasn’t heard of jihadist movements whose declared aim is to destroy the United States in the name of Islam.
For McCain, the War on Terror is a “just war” in which Americans fight for their security and their allies’. Obama rejects the concept of “just war.” He dismisses the Iraq war as both “unnecessary and unjust” – though the struggle in Afghanistan is “a necessary war.”
ONE constant Obama theme is the claim that poverty and economic factors breed terrorism; this echoes the analysis of Jimmy Carter back in the ’70s. Strengthening that impression is Obama’s pick of Sen. Joseph Biden as running mate.
Biden denies there’s a War on Terror in the first place or that the United States even knows whom it’s fighting. He has declared that “terrorism is a means, not an end, and very different groups and countries are using it toward very different goals. If we can’t even identify the enemy or describe the war we’re fighting, it’s difficult to see how we will win.”
While McCain puts the emphasis on hard power – that is, on meeting and defeating the enemy on the battlefield – Obama, echoing Carter and Bill Clinton, promises a greater use of soft power.
He plans to double US foreign aid to $50 billion a year, allocate a further $20 billion to offering “alternatives to madrassa education” in Muslim countries, provide Afghanistan with another $1 billion a year in support and spend $5 billion on a “Shared Security Partnership Program” with foreign governments.
And he promises to “bolster our ability to speak different languages and understand different cultures” – as if America’s unique cultural spectrum didn’t already include large numbers of speakers of every living language, with millions of immigrants each year. Sorry: The nation was not attacked because Americans don’t speak Arabic or don’t understand Saudi or Egyptian cultures.
Obama also says he’ll open “America Houses” in Muslim capitals. These would be community centers with libraries, Internet cafes and English-language classes. Has he considered the possibility that these might become prime targets for terrorists?
Plus, he’d set up an “America’s Voice Corps,” which would recruit and train thousands of young Americans to go to Muslim countries to explain “American values” and, in return, “listen to Islamic voices.”
More important, perhaps, Obama promises to attend “a significant Islamic forum” (presumably, the summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference) within his first 100 days in the White House. He believes that the magic of his eloquence might do what America’s hard power has failed to achieve. In an early version of this idea, Obama wanted to invite all Muslim heads of state to a Washington summit. He doesn’t realize that this would endorse the claim that Islam merits a special treatment even in international relations.
ONE might expect Obama to be more convincing on Afghani stan, his pet war. Yet all we get is a promise to increase aid – despite the fact that the Afghan economy hasn’t been able to absorb the $20 billion pledged since 2002. He would also send in two more combat brigades – precisely the number that other NATO allies were supposed to supply by next January. (President Bush just announced that, from now until January, he’ll be sending an even larger reinforcement to Afghanistan.)
The Democratic platform’s section on foreign policy contains several references to “restoring American leadership.” When it comes to tough issues, however, we’re told that “the world must do” this or that.
An example: “The world must prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.” What if that abstract entity, “the world,” of which Obama once claimed to be a citizen, fails to do so? Obama’s answer is “tougher sanctions and aggressive, principled and direct high-level diplomacy without preconditions.”
He promises to talk to all the “bad guys,” including the Khomeinist leaders in Tehran. He ignores the fact that successive US administrations, from Carter to George W. Bush, have talked to the mullahs – so far to no avail. He also forgets that then-Secretary of State Colin Powell traveled to Syria and was rewarded with a series of political murders of US friends in Lebanon.
The platform’s Middle East section promises to “stand with allies and pursue diplomacy.” Apart from Israel, however, we’re never told who those “allies” are.
While Bush fixed the creation of two states, a Palestinian one besides Israel, as the aim of his strategy, Obama takes a step back by claiming merely that the US should “lead the efforts to build the road to a secure and lasting peace.”
HE also abandons Bush’s message of democratization in the Middle East as the long-term weapon against terrorism and strengthens the fiction that the Palestinian issue is the region’s main, if not the sole, problem.
In fact, despotism may be the more important issue. Yet Obama sneers at the elections held in Iraq, Afghanistan and several other Muslim nations thanks to US encouragement and pressure. He would leave America without a core message in the Middle East.
McCain believes that America is at war; Obama doesn’t. McCain believes the United States can win on the battlefield; Obama doesn’t.
For Obama, the problem is one of effective law enforcement. His model is the way Clinton handled the first attack on World Trade Center in 1993. Obama says: “We are able to arrest those responsible, put them on trial.” This means the United States reacting after being attacked.
McCain, however, doesn’t fear the politically incorrect term “pre-emption” – hitting the enemy before he hits you.
WHEN all is said and done, this election may well have only one big issue: the existential threat that Islamist terrorism poses to America’s safety. Since McCain and Obama offer radically different policies for facing that threat, American voters do have a real choice.

According to the book America’s Half-Century, Brzezinski and Kissinger were both proteges of David Rockerfeller. Kissinger and Brzezinski have very similar world views, which the neocons dislike.

Brzezinski gave George H.W. Bush a solid B for his “global leadership” skills, while giving Bill Clinton an uneven C.

I read an interesting article last Spring which outlined the difference between the Democrats and Republicans. The Republicans use National Security issues to build a coalition of support and spend U.S. dollars at home and in foreign countries. The Democrats use environmental and social justice issues.

Either way, the same groups and individuals stay wealthy and in power; they just create new corporations to fit the needs to gain contracts. So, under an Obama Administration, the power brokers with Corporation A (e.g., Halliburton) would create a subsidiary company that cleans up the hazardous materials left behind by a war field and turn the area into housing or parks or ? The leftist in the U.S. feel like they are taking care of the “injustices” of the world but the same people are still making money, but under a different corporate name.

Well, don’t count on Fox NETWORK for any entertainment that night. Two asinine “reality” shows (“Are You Smarter Than a Fifth-Grader” and “Don’t Forget the Lyrics”) are on tap. As for the movies, you can always go see Babylon A.D. (which is distributed by 20th Century FOX–and has received atrocious reviews, in large part due to the studio’s apparent stepping in and forcing cuts to get the film released “on schedule”).
The “boycott” is stupid because it’s SOLE motive is political vindictiveness. Ask the Dixie Chicks how THAT feels.
