A Traitor In Our Midst [UPDATE: McCain Campaign Issues a Statement]

Buried in today’s news is a report in New York Post saying Barack Obama urged Iraqi officials to delay agreements with the U.S. until after the election. Amir Taheri writes:

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

“He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Zebari said in an interview.

Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops – and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its “state of weakness and political confusion.”

This is not necessarily new information, nor should it be a surprise. Throughout the day, though, the Obama nutroots dismissed this as “horribly misrepresenting the facts”, “NY Post article – an unreliable source”, and ‘Reagan did it, why not Obama, too?’

And from Obama?

Obama’s campaign staff traveling with Obama claims—as either a lie or simply uninformed—that “no such conversation took place”, per Major Garrett in Denver today, Fox news at 3:23 ET.

At about the same time, Ben Smith reports at Politico:

An Obama aide accused Taheri of confusing the Status of Forces agreement with a Strategic Framework Agreement, for which Obama has pushed for congressional review.

Recall, that NBC reported on June 16 that Obama “… argued it would make sense to hold off on such negotiations until the next administration.”

“My concern is that the Bush administration–in a weakened state politically–ends up trying to rush an agreement that in some ways might be binding to the next administration, whether it was my administration or Sen. McCain’s administration,” Obama said. “The foreign minister agreed that the next administration should not be bound by an agreement that’s currently made.”

Thus, Obama does not deny he asked for delay. He is only splitting hairs about what he was asking delay on. Bottom line is that Obama has interfered in U.S. foreign policy by negotiating with a foreign government, albeit an America puppet-government, by asking them to delay agreements with the U.S. This action, for political expediency, is at the cost of American lives.

How many Americans will needlessly die because of Obama’s effort to delay pull-out for his political gain?!

  • July 21-31: 2 dead, 31 wounded (and not RTD)
  • August: 23 dead, 121 wounded (and not RTD)
  • September: 6 dead through the 14th, 32 wounded (and not RTD through the 9th)

Is this the Hope and Change that Obama supporters find so endearing? Is this Obama’s version of patriotism? Or, is this plain and simple treason?

So, Obama, while claiming the anti-war mantle throughout the election, actually negotiated with the Iraqis in July to delay the withdrawal of troops until after the election?!

This is outrageous on two points:

  1. Potential violation of Logan Act prohibiting negotiations with foreign governments.
  2. Duplicitous opposition to the war and calling for pull-out of troops publicly while negotiating with a foreign power to delay agreements with the U.S. until after the election.

As IronMan pointed out earlier today at NoQuarterUSA:

“Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged”—Abraham Lincoln, 1863

How fitting, the Democrats put up a traitor against a certified American war hero.

======================================

[UPDATE]: The McCain Campaign has issued a statement responding to the report from Amer Taheri that Sen. Obama secretly negotiated with the Iraqi government regarding U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. McCain spokesman Randy Scheunemann stated as follows:

At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented. It should be concerning to all that he reportedly urged that the democratically-elected Iraqi government listen to him rather than the US administration in power. If news reports are accurate, this is an egregious act of political interference by a presidential candidate seeking political advantage overseas. Senator Obama needs to reveal what he said to Iraq’s Foreign Minister during their closed door meeting. The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama’s judgment and it demands an explanation.

Thanks! This really has my blood boiling. It was one thing to play slight-of-hand and lying games with NAFTA, less so with FISA, but to do so as well with our ongoing war–and I opposed the war in Iraq–is beyond the pale. The deaths and injuries of our soldiers is squarely on Obama’s hands. Not only should McCain take him to task for this, but so should George Bush. Everyone should.

OT, but today I read a comment which had a comparison of the questions Obama was asked on a broadcast interview to those asked of Palin by Charlie Gibson. Also, a transcript of the Palin interview showed how it was edited by ABC (very interesting–I’d love to see that for all MCM* interviews! Lots of work involved.)

Anyway, cannot find it and can’t recall which thread it was under.

Does anyone recall that comment? The commenter?

    Appreciate response. Thnx much.

Thnx for the timeframe–so many threads, and so very, very many comments to go through.

I did find one of sources about the editing of parts of the Gibson/Palin interview:
<a href=”http://newsbusters.org/blogs/p-j-gladnick/2008/09/13/abc-news-edited-out-key-parts-sarah-palin-interview”From Newsbusters, so fair warning.

          • Melisa

MY GOODNESS! The editing totally obscured what she said. Nothing shocking or controversial in this. It is totally disingenuous of Gibson to allow this to happen.

            • Laura

Someone wrote to O’Reilly and mentioned the editing of her interview. He said to send to him if found to be true. Why can’t HE find it? Not hard to do a search. Gibson should be ashamed.

              • Ai1een

I would love to see FOX post side by side comparisons of the Gibson questions to Obama vs. Palin. I mean a split screen, #1 To Obama vs. #1 to Palin…#2 To Obama vs. #2 to Palin, etc.

    • Ivory Bill Woodpecker

I keep wondering–has the Corporate Holodeck Media really gone over to Obama, or have the CHM spokesweasels simply been following orders from their paymasters to ruin Hillary, and will the paymasters soon order the spokesweasels to turn against Obama?

      • Hope Floats

They’re going to double down on the stupidity, because their careers are on the line. If Obama gets in office, the party continues. If it’s McCain, they could be frozen out or completely discredited.

Exactly. O is attempting to split hairs, but here is what he said in June:

“I emphasized to him how encouraged I was by the reductions in violence in Iraq, but also insisted that it is important for us to begin the process of withdrawing U.S. troops, making clear that we have no interest in permanent bases in Iraq, that any negotiations for a Status of Forces agreement or strategic framework agreement should be done in the open and with Congress’s authorization, because I believe that it’s in the interests of both Iraq and the United States that any such critical negotiations have strong bipartisan support and that they can be sustained through a future administration,” Obama told reporters.

He forgot to do his research, AGAIN.
O could give a red rats @$$ about ANYONE, let alone Americans. If it turns out that he is NOT a natural born American, thus, not qualified to run for President, I suggest ICE move to IMMEDIATELY detain him, try him for fraud, forgery and/or perjury for illegally occupying a US Senate seat, then punish and deport him. This guy should be on a No Fly list, anyway.
    Enough is enough.NObama.

    • lark

He deserves it. All he needed to do was to visit the troops, and talk to the generals if he wished. He didn’t need to talk to any Iraqis in leadership for any type of agreement or endorsement. He violated the law, making believe he is already president. Is not the first time he wants to make the impression he is already president.

I don’t think the MSM remembers or researches anything on barky. That’s why when he is questioned he always starts with “As I’ve said before” or “As I’ve always said” or “Let me reiterate what I have previously said”. And the media just goes along.

He can be a senator even if he isn’t natural born, as long as he’s a citizen of some sort. He could even be governor like Ahhhnold. He just can’t be President or VP. Of course if he doesn’t have citizenship at all (which isn’t likely) he couldn’t be a senator.

The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama’s judgment and it demands an explanation.

      • C.S.

President Nixon was forced to resign for trying to get a political advantage over his opponent by illegal and “dirty tricks” before he could be impeached.

Soretoro/Obama has gone way beyond that by trying to gain political advantage over his opponent by convincing the head of an occupied U. S. territory to listen to his political ideas rather than follow the dictates of the Commander-in-chef of the United States.

As a United States Senator, even if he has been present in the Senate for less than a year, and a lecturer on Constitutional Law he knows what he has done is violating the Logan Act and can be considered treason under our Constitution.

Who is this man that feels he is immune from the limits imposed by our Constitution and the laws of our land? Voters need to know before November; now is really much too late to start finding this out.

I guess that makes you the Easter Bunny. I spent a year in the former Republic of Vietnam. I know incoming from outgoing. There’s an RA affixed to my service number.

People on the right shouldn’t generalize politically. They should check to see how the number of prominent uniformed service democrats compares with their republican counterparts. A lot more democrats have a DD 214 and a handful of old decorations stuck away in the back of the odd dresser drawer. A lot of us have scars you can’t see. The flag means more to us than you think.

I think a little more respect on all sides would be a very good thing. And a lot fewer assumptions.

                ziggy,
You may be honest with your support for Obama or you may be blogging for the money and just recite the daily script provided by the Obama campaign. You have to deal with your own conscious.

But, if you are sincere, and look at Obama’s words, records and associations, he is a liar. He is a globalist. He is Bush 3. He has flip flopped on so many issues, no one-NO ONE- can be assured where he stands on issues. He has no character or convictions.

                He has flip flopped on:
FISA, Public Financing, Illegal Immigration, the Patriot Act, Legalizing Marijuana, the Death Penalty, & a Divided Jerusalem. And, these are only a few items.

He has voted with the Bush Administration on the 2005 Energy Bill which gave billions to the oil and energy companies.

He voted with the pro-life Republican majority and pro-life Democrats to have the federal court determine Terri Schiavo’s future rather than her family.

He opposed the Housing passing the 1872 Mining Act Reform Bill which would have made mining companies clean up the environmental messes they create.

He rewrote a bill which favored the nuclear power industry.

He allowed his low-income constituents to continue to live in poor housing conditions while helping Retzo gain access to Federal funds.

He recently changed his financial incentive program.

He is not for Change, he is not for Unity, he is not for you, or me or us. Obama is for Obama.

          • Hope Floats

Well, who lied? An Iraqi foreign minister went on record, and Obama has said the same things in the past? You’re lucky you survived war, if you’re dumb enough to believe anyone is pushing for war with Russia.

          • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

ziggbama, you just don’t get it. obama would be bush’s third term and would most likely lead to a war or several wars due to his arrogance and power trips. McCain isn’t going to get us in a war if he can prevent it, he knows what war is and sees it as a last resort. obi doesn’t have the skill to deal with other countries and when they don’t give him what he wants, he’s going to start dropping bombs like he drops lies now.
Obama doesn’t care about me, he doesn’t care about you, he doesn’t care about any state or the country, obama cares about obama and nobody else. he won’t hesitate to start a war if he thinks he has something to gain from it.
I’m a life long democrat and have never even CONSIDERED voting repubican, but this year, I HAVE to in order to keep obama out of the white house and to keep him from being commander in cheif. This isn’t a partisan thing because I very much want a democrat, i just don’t want THAT democrat.
I can respect McCain, McCain is very patriotic and loves his country with every ounce of his being. I know that John McCain will do everything in his power to protect this country from foreign threats and domestic threats. He’s a man of courage, honor and integrity. None of those things can be said of obama. he’s nothing but a sleazy chicago politician. I can not and will not put my life, the lives of my family and friends and lives of those i don’t even know in the hands of obama. It would be a sure death sentence. I trust McCain to protect this country that he loves and do what’s right for it. I wouldn’t trust obama to wash my car or babysit a pet rock. If you want a third bush term or another world war, go ahead and vote for obama, but more and more, we’re seeing you are going to be very lonely.

OBAMA’s OWN WORDS AS REPORTED BY MSNBC IN JUNE

In response to a question about how much flexibility there would be to withdrawal plans, Obama said he still believed U.S. forces could be out of the country within about 16 months and that “I’ve also consistently said that I will consult with military commanders on the ground and that we will always be open to the possibility of tactical adjustments. The important thing is to send a clear signal to the Iraqi people and most importantly to the Iraqi leadership that the U.S. occupation in Iraq is finite, it is gonna be coming to a foreseeable end.”

He said he told Zebari that negotiations for a Status of Forces agreement or strategic framework agreement between the two countries should be done in the open and with Congress’s authorization and that it was important that that there be strong bipartisan support for any agreement so that it can be sustained through a future administration. He argued it would make sense to hold off on such negotiations until the next administration.

Zebari’s WORDS AS REPORTED IN NYPOST TODAY!!!

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

“However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open.” Zebari says.

        WORDS MATTER ZIGGYBAMA!

      • Nobama

Hate to tell you, but there is no evidence that Senator McCain did anything ‘behind the scenes’ and we have been in Georgia training the Georgian military. I have the entry visa in my diplomatic passport to prove it. Senators are allowed to be involved in policy, they are not allowed to go against it–even if they think it is in the country’s best interest. Just like any member of the executive branch of government (which includes the military) can engage foreign leaders or people, as long as we do not go against the President’s policy doesn’t matter if we agree. I have served under both Bushes and Clinton and I would never do anything in my capacity to undermine our President. You need to get a clue and bring some evidence to at least make some type of case before spouting off about things that you probably don’t understand. You sound like you are spouting the campaign’s line: lobbyists, lobbyists everywhere. You do know that the Great One gets plenty of money as well, right, like from Fannie and Freddie…I could go on, but you probably aren’t willing to commit apostasy and think that Senator Obama is anything less than a saint.

And the MSM still doesn’t get it.
    Kevin Williamson reports:

From McClatchy, more evidence that the media really are truly blind to their own biases. You cannot make this stuff up. Reporting from a McCain rally in Fairfax:

A half-hour later, the Republicans lined Old Lee Highway to watch the campaign motorcade pull away. As McCain and Palin rolled by, they cheered. As the press van approached a second later, they booed.

    It was no accident.

Ever since McCain chose the largely unknown Palin as his running mate, his campaign has waged an intensive assault on the news media.

Capitalizing on errors, rumors and perceived sexism in the frenzied first round of reporting on Palin, the McCain campaign has taken advantage of a changing media landscape, grouping together blogs and supermarket tabloids with mainstream newspapers and television to tar the media as one corrupt monolith, stirring up the conservative base and working to pressure the media from further aggressive reporting on Palin.

As people get more and more convinced that He might not win, that in fact he will lose, the more people he fucked over and bullied into supporting him under threat will start spilling the beans to clear their conscience before election day.

      Just watch and see.

The turn around on him from all the heads he stepped on and nuts he kicked in his rapid climb up the political pyramid is going to only get worse.

And still more MSM foolishness. I am afraid that the only way this gets reported and investigated fairly is if the McCain campaign (or a 527) does a commercial so that people get outraged enough to demand some type of coverage lest the advertising revenues suffer.

More on the Press Turning Toward Obama [Greg Pollowitz]
    From Michael Scherer at Time:

This imbalance has caused some soul-searching and second-guessing in newsrooms, as reporters realize that they are being successfully manipulated by the McCain campaign. “Stop the madness,” said TIME’s own Mark Halperin, in an appearance on CNN to discuss the controversy. “I think this is the press just absolutely playing into the McCain campaign’s crocodile tears.”

By the weekend, many news organizations had mounted a backlash of their own, running prominent pieces accusing the self-branded “Straight Talking” McCain of deceiving voters. “The “Straight-Talk Express” has detoured into doublespeak,” announced the Associated Press, while the New York Times blared, “McCain Barbs Stirring Outcry as Distortions.”

I don’t buy the press “playing into the McCain campaign’s crocodile tears.” Is this some sort of Schmidt-Jedi mind trick that only works on the feeble-minded MSM?

    • http://www.overstream.net/view.php?oid=i2a7maeftqt9 Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright

WTF was Obama thinking???!!! NO EXPERIENCE NOBAMA!

“At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented. The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama’s judgment and it demands an explanation”

    For Immediate Release
    September 15, 2008

McCain-Palin 2008 Launches “Honest and Open Election Committee”

ARLINGTON, VA — The McCain-Palin 2008 campaign today announced the formation of the Honest and Open Election Committee, with a mission to ensure that every qualified citizen has the opportunity to vote in a fair and transparent manner. The committee will work with state and local election officials to anticipate, and where possible resolve in advance, problems likely to arise on Election Day.

The advisory committee will be co-chaired by former United States Senators John C. Danforth and Warren B. Rudman. The committee also includes current and former members of Congress and former state secretaries of state, election officials, and state attorneys general, along with prominent academic experts in election law. The diverse composition of the committee reflects the McCain-Palin campaign’s desire to put partisan politics aside in the hope of seeing a fair and transparent election in November.

The committee will advise the campaign with respect to policy and actual or potential legal proceedings involving the campaign laws and practices in various states working towards avoiding litigation when possible.

“The purpose of the Honest and Open Election Committee is to resolve potential voting problems in advance of Election Day to bolster voters’ confidence in the system,” said Rudman. “We believe that elections should be decided by voters, not lawyers.”

The Honest and Open Election Committee requested a dialogue between the McCain-Palin campaign and both the Democratic National Committee and the Obama-Biden campaign in letters sent today.

“We stand ready to work with you in a cooperative manner on issues that, if not handled properly, are likely to become adversarial,” the letter states. “Let’s show the American people that our two parties can together develop a transparent and open process in every voting place in the country. Experience has shown that careful, advance planning that anticipates and addresses problems and creates solutions can substantially reduce issues on Election Day.”

In an effort to discuss these issues with the top election officials in each state, the McCain-Palin election committee sent those officials a letter offering assistance. The McCain-Palin election committee also launched a website at http://www.johnmccain.com/honest.

“Our committee will assist election officials across the country to make sure that federal and state voting regulations are understood and upheld. It is a reflection of the campaign’s commitment to tackling tough problems in a bi-partisan manner,” Danforth said.

      Berserk,

This is terrific information. I personally KNOW Warren Rudman and I am thrilled he is co-chair.

Warren went to DC as Senator specifically to try and control corruption. Hear of “Grant-Rudman” Act?
After he had done all he could – Warren, who would have been re-elected in a landside, louldy bowed out and in no uncertain terms gave speific details as to exactly how corrupt DC politics were and how much it was costing every citizen (forget the figures).

Not shy and retiring by any means. I will send Warren all the info on Fraud by Dr. Lynette Long, as well as the info from Ricki Lieberman on the convention.

This is the first time since I found out what type of person Obama was back in Janaury that I feel more secure. They will have to tie and gag Warren Rudman to keep him silent.

Very good idea for a first debate question. great action idea! We need to have some people in key locations around debate location on the day of, maybe day before, with signs and t shirts addressing this issue. Get the media on notice that the protestors are there so that they will have to report on it. If the MSM doesn’t, then the protestors need to take pictures and notes (which they should do anyway because the media often misreports facts to their advantage) and send these photos and notes to the blog sites for posting. sooner or later the question will have to come. Everyone, start to make a stink!

Here we responded that we are interested in relations with all governments in equality of conditions and that in the case of the US it is required a public pronouncement expressing their interest in talking with the FARC given their eternal war against us.
If this doesn’t give you a glimpse into what Obama really stands for, I don’t know what will. He has some of the most atrocious human rights violators on Earth supporting him and now the FARC terrorists have jumped on board. This man is dangerous to America, and the veil has yet to be lifted by anyone except the conservative blogs.

So Pampers attempts to undermine our negotiations in Iraq, and is willing to keep our soldiers in harms way for his own benefit. And it looks like the Senator was in violation of the Logan Act. Instead of imprisonment can we put him in stocks on the National Mall and throw rotten produce at him?

I hope the parents of the soldiers who were killed (31) and those who were wounded(184) since July of this year don’t get wind of this story.

I can’t imagine what they might do. How can this man live with blood on his hands?

    • tzada

On the contrary I hope they do find out. I will do my part to get this out, as will many many many here. I will get the information to the local VFW. Many are older which will lead to AARP finding out as well.

  • Doris T.

OMG, everything about Obama is beyond any normalcy. I am so sick of him and his wife. The two of them are so un-American and I believe Obama would sell any U.S. secrets (especially military) to the highest bidder.

The fact that he has had a working relationship with terrorist Bill Ayers who is unrepentant and a 20 yr. friendship with his one time mentor Wright, who meant every hatefilled sermon about white people and G-d damn America, speaks volumes about Obama’s attitute and character. Plus, Obama’s links with Chicago corruption.

What more do people need? How the heck is this man still a candidate for the presidency, let alone a Senator!?!?

I think the Democratic Party has been bought and paid for. I believe that until the majority of those in office are out of office, democratic voters cannot trust their judgments.

Was it worth selling the United States out and the American people (of every race/nationality) by having an African-American (if Obama is a natural born citizen) as the democratic, presidential nominee at all costs?

I know my answer is NO!!!!!

If another individual had done any of these things, they would’ve been charged with treason.

I know that Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice, had contacted Obama to tell him he was on his own. So, Obama cannot pretend he was representing anyone but himself.

Obama’s wheeling and dealing with foreign government heads….putting American military men and women at risk so he can take credit for the deal, has gone way beyond reason.

How can anyone vote for Obama with any kind of a clear conscience knowing the damage he can do if placed in the Oval Office????

I wrote to ABC, CBS, and NBC just after Obama defamed the presidential seal. I asked them to start vetting Obama and for them to stop flushing the United States down the toilet.

The MSM are still playing deaf and dumb! But, they are selling out the American people with all that they know and choose to ignore. When all is said and done, they should be sued for willful neglect of the facts about Obama.

Instead the MSM is out to smear and get Governor Sarah Palin, just like they did to Senator Hillary Clinton. Sexism is being used to the maximum. And, the MSM continues to spread the so-called glory of Barack H. Obama.

    The MSM is truly disgusting!!!

today proved he doesn’t care about America. He spoke of depression and total failure – he didn’t give a rats ass what he was doing. Votes at all costs – not country first.

His doom and gloom speech was to get McCain.
Otherwise, his speech could easily have started a panic and run on the banks – we don’t need this idiot. He is totally disconnected to right and wrong.

He is not Presidential material. He blasted McCain for his comment on the economy – we need leaders to remain calm and assure the population – not to instill enough fear to start a panic.

Obama uses fear tactics against us – he has done it with Roe vs Wade and the Iraq war and now he the economy. He is dangerous.

Looks like Mccain has a boat load of lawyers breathing down nO’s back. Quite a few Harvard Law alum on that Honest Elections Committee. Somehow, I think these lawyers actually KNOW constitutional law as well as Election Law. Chicago Daley Machine meet America.
The surprising outcome of this election may be an unintended consequence of nObama- denying nO the presidency may unite Americans better than any person could. I have visited many Hillary support sites and see that though there values differ from mine, they, like me LOVE America. It may be that uniting to deny the Anti American wannabe, that Americans can disagree civilly on methods, but agree that America, The Country, supercedes all partisanship. We have seen this unity before, when our beloved America was attacked before by a similarly menacing threat in the very recent past…

  • Nobama

A little advice off of Obama’s site (had to be placed by an enemy, but the way they are campaigning, you never know):
Dear Sen. Obama, (Do Not Post)

For sometime we have seen many so called gaffes
by McCain. In addition, we see him change his
stance on policies. Maybe he just doesn’t
REMEMBER WHAT HE SAID. The average age of onset
of Alzeimhers is 74, with one out of every four
people having the disease. In listening to
Claire McCaskill this weekend, I was thinking
she has got the right idea it just needs to be
expanded with details added. Also, ONE out of every TWO people at age 80 have the disease according the the supreme court justice who recently had pleaded for more
    research for the disease.

President Clinton, mentioned how many times
the military men come home and to stated as
he did “These mens brains just don’t work right”.
He quoted a war veteran’s complaints to him saying
his body was intact but his brain wasn’t.

You could use this to cause americans to
question McCain’s ability to make decisions now and while he is president. He is a post war veteran and probably suffered more than
one blow to the head, although he could have just
had his head bashed in at one of the many bar
fights he use to get in. Additionally, he is 73
isn’t he, I am not sure maybe it is 72, he
gets his facts mixed up. In one video he stated
Putin was the President of Germany!

I think he is either having severe memory loss or
is just so dishonest he really doesn’t even
realize when he is telling a lie.

To sum it up, just start speaking about the military’s men todays problems with “brain problems” then take
the topic to how Alzheimers affecting so many people today and express the need for more research in this area. Then quote statistics about average age of onset. Maybe make a commercial bringing awareness to this horrid disorder that is affecting many individuals and families.

Let’s talk about TRULY playing politics with our troops lives.

When is John McCain going to divulge his plan to “win” in Iraq that he constantly eludes to?

He claims to have a plan for “victory” but apparently his presidential campaign trumps the well-being of our troops.

How many of our troops will die while John McCain tells lie after lie and dithers with his fabulous plan? What a cruel man and pathetic liar.

McCain should do his patriotic duty and inform the Generals of his “winning” plan immediately if his priority really is saving our troops lives.

Straight-talk Express? HA! More like Bullshit Express!

“Let’s talk about TRULY playing politics with our troops lives.”

That’s reserved for Barry “Change Like the Wind” Obama.

Oh, yes, and we can’t forget that gross example of a wannabe President who decided NOT to visit the wounded troops in Germany because he couldn’t bring camera crews and reporters to make it a media circus.

How loooowww can a candidate gooooo? Ask Backtrack Barry!

      • William

        More bs. How fitting.

Your inartful sidestep of the legitimate issue I raised tells me it hit home and that you have literally no appropriate response to John McCain’s cruel lie at our troops expense.

Like shame. Or outrage. Or the demand to know this plan McCain claims he has. Guess you don’t believe he has a “Plan for Victory” either.

        • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

legitimate issue?? when did you raise a legitimate issue? All I’ve seen from you is straw man arguments trying to take focus off the fact that obama has committed felonies on several occasions and hasn’t answered for them. That IS, afterall, what the topic of the thread is.
McCain has not negotiated foreign policy behind closed doors. That’s what this thread is about. Try staying on topic instead of bringing up FALSE accusations to try to take attention away from the serious issues being discussed about obama’s felony actions.
This isn’t about a “plan for victory” which I’m sure both parties have worked out in some way or another, this is about trying to negotiate your plan before you have the executive authority to do so. Obama violated the Logan Act, a felony, and needs to answer for it. If you have something to add that’s on topic, please do so, but don’t expect people here to fall for your strawman arguements. We aren’t koolaide drinkers like huffpo readers are and we are actually capable of thinking for ourselves instead of depending on talking points like you paid obama trollers do.

    • Another Fred

You’re probably wondering how many votes you just gained for Obama with your insightful post, right?

Well, you just gained -3 for good ole’ Obama.

      Thanks!

      • Another Fred

        Yes, negative three. You fail.

        • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

it’s increasing in the negative sense and is now at -8. If it’s his goal to take away obama support, he’s doing wonderfully. However, if he wants to get more votes for obama, he should be fired as a paid troll becuase he’s costing votes instead of gaining them.

    • Nobama

Is your argument the old ends justify the means? We should look the other way because Senator Obama said he would end the war immediately. Remember that one, he used it on Hillary–until he won and changed his mind. but, we should still let him get away with anything he wants, because he is going to filibuster FISA–until he decided not to and voted for it.

Do I need to go on? Put down the kool-aid and think that it is possible that the DNC has made a horrible mistake. It is okay, the world won’t end, Obama is not the really the messiah, despite what they say on the floor of Congress.

    • ohio

Really William? The only one that is running that is a cruel man and a pathetic liar is your messiah. He is anti-american and would sell this country down the river if given the chance. [ADMINISTRATOR: Comment removed for inappropriate content.]

I agree. And if the media stays silent on them, they are complicit.

        • William

Seems like you would instead tell “your son who is in Iraq” that John McCain is directly endangering his life by holding out with his “winning plan.”

Funny how with your “personal” interest in the outcome, this hasn’t occured to you before. Where’s your outrage?

McCain says he has a “plan for victory!” Haven’t you paid attention? Don’t you want to hear it already? For your “son’s” sake?

          • ohio

William, actually my son and his buddies are voting for McCain. They recognize a true patriot when they see one and they don’t see it in Barky.

          • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

When McCain is elected, he will put his plan into action. Until that time, the plan has no power, just as obama’s plan (or lack of a plan) has no power. Obama, however, has tried to convince foreign heads of state to wait to negotiate after the election in a closed door meeting and violated the Logan act in doing so, making him a felon….again, and again and again and again.
At this rate, instead of a one term, pathetic president, obama will have a life sentence in a BIG HOUSE that has bars on his bedroom and a room-mate that will fulfill his “on the down low” inclinations.

    • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

ummm McCain will divulge whatever executive plans he has if he obtains executive office. You see, it’s not legal for citizens who are not authorized by the POTUS to speak for him to negotiate with foreign heads of state. It’s a felony. It’s a felony that obama breaks over and over and over. John McCain hasn’t done it because he knows it’s a felony and doesn’t consider spending time in the BIG HOUSE instead of the WhiteHouse something he would like to do.
obama is headed for the BIG HOUSE alright, but it won’t be white and he’ll have bars on his “bedroom”.
Lucky for him he’s on the down low, he won’t mind it so much when “bubba” makes him his beeeyatch.

Good and smart move from McCain.

  • Doris T.

McCain is a veteran of war and after going through what he has, I will not question his motives.

Every veteran, who has fought in a war, knows better than any military person, and certainly more than any civilians could possibly imagine.

But why should he spell out his plan at this time when no one will act on it!

He’s lived it and I think he does want fellow soldiers out as soon as reasonably possible. McCain stayed with his men when he could have gotten out, so that speaks volumes about his character.

    McCain versus Obama?

It’s a no brainer. McCain all the way!!!

    • William

“But why should he spell out his plan at this time when no one will act on it!”

He’s divided the democratic party right down the middle and disenfranchised half of us with his campaign of racism, sexism and lies.
McCain has the republican party and half the democratic party on his side now. obama will lose by a 3 to 1 margin when this is over due to his own actions, his own “just words” and his own flipflopping as a result of his incompetence and inability to do the job as a candidate, let alone as a victorious candidate and POTUS. Obama isn’t capable of handling the position and will be beaten soundly as a result.

what plan? the “plan” for Iraq is to stabilize their country. It is a counterinsurgencie plan. What new plan is needed. The one now is working wonderfully.
We win in iraq when their police and army can protect and defend the poeple of Iraq.
When we finish training them and beefing up their forces we will drawdown.
We cannot leave now. We cannot afford to ruin the endgame. Which is what obama wants to do. He tried to legislate defeat.
McCain understands this war and has sent his kids to fight in it. So the idea that mccain is a warmonger or does not care is absurd.
The folks on the left who criticize McCain on Iraq are almost all poeple who never went to war and would never send their kids.

You think McCain is playing politics with his sons lives? Playing politics with Palins sons life? Get real.

He does not need a plan, David Petraus makes the plan, he is the General afterall and the guy who has turned everything around over there.
That IS mac’s plan. LISTEN to the general and proceed as neccessary.

You cannot go wreck a country’s political structure as a result throw the country into chaos and then leave like you were never there. Iraqi’s deserves to have long lasting freedom. We also need a partner in the ME, and strategically iraq is brilliant

  • Babs

Lou Dobbs omce again throws the CNN bias right back in their faces. I love this guy! Dana Bash reporting on Sarah’s campaign stop today just had to end her report with the fact that Sarah was reading from a teleprompter and didn’t talk to the press after the event. So Lou says please tell me which candidate does not read from a teleprompter, and when was the last time either presidential candidate met with the press? She couldn’t answer about Obama, said McCain last had a press conference sometime in August. Then Candy Crowley came on from the Obama campaign, and Lou asked her about the last time Obama held a press conference. She said he met with reporters last week, then Lou made her find out how many questions were asked, she said 4. Then she couldn’t remember when Obama had last had a real press conference.

Lou is on this big time. Says the American people have a right to have these guys questioned, and he is going to stay on it until they give the press more time.

I think it was also on Dobbs they were talking about the negative campaign ads, could have been somewhere else, though, that someone in McCain’s campaign pointed out that McCain’s desire for town hall meetings on a regular basis was to let the issues be discussed on a regular basis and forestall the need for the negative ads. Also said that in the primaries, the negative ads from the Democratic contenders did not start in force until Obama refused to debate Hillary anymore.

I’ll say it again, I love Lou Dobbs. He doesn’t let McCain get away unscathed, by any means, but he at least cuts through the media BS and their lovefest with Barry.

    • vinnie

Thanks for that recap…I stopped watching that worthless info-tainment CNN reporting long ago. I don’t mind the press hounding both candidates, that is what they are supposed to do. “You think McCain is playing politics with his sons lives? Playing politics with Palins sons life? Get real.”

Yes. You people are not paying attention to the things that don’t back up your partisan hatred of Obama, who I am not a strong supporter of btw, just a REAL Democrat that wants to win.

McCain adopted the slogan, “Country First,” for a reason. Either you believe he means exactly that or you don’t.

“He does not need a plan, David Petraus makes the plan, he is the General afterall and the guy who has turned everything around over there.
That IS mac’s plan. LISTEN to the general and proceed as neccessary.”

Again, believing nonsense and not paying attention. McCain never said his plan is solely to listen to the Generals. But he HAS specifically and repeatedly implied that he has his own “plan for victory” and gets away with that bs because the msm you moan about around here has not challenged him on it.

And how much credit are you giving to the fact that we are paying off each, now segregated, side over there to stop fighting? What happens when the funds dry up and we leave? Or doesn’t that matter to you?

I would really love to interview McCain myself. Then you’d see Mr. Straight-talk in all his lying, deceitful glory!

    1. The financial market is failing due to mortgage lenders. Wall Street lost more than 500 points within the first hour of trading today.

    2. The top contributors to the Obama campaign are the very Wall Street firms whose shady mortgage lenders buried the elderly and the poor and minority under predatory loans.

According to the Black Agenda Report,

“Seven of the Obama campaign’s top 14 donors consisted of officers and employees of the same Wall Street firms charged time and again with looting the public and newly implicated in originating and/or bundling fraudulently made mortgages. These latest frauds have left thousands of children in some of our largest minority communities coming home from school to see eviction notices and foreclosure signs nailed to their front doors. Those scars will last a lifetime.

“How can ‘we,’ the people, make change if Obama’s money backers block our ability to be heard?”
These seven Wall Street firms are (in order of money given): Goldman Sachs, UBS AG, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse. ” (emphasis added.)

Lehman Brothers, the fourth biggest U.S. investment bank, filed for bankruptcy Monday after two most serious buyers Barcklays and Bank of America (BOA) withdrew from talks to buy the firm. New York-based Lehman, the biggest U.S. underwriter of mortgage securities, has lost 94 percent of its market value this year after record losses from investments tied to mortgages.

Brokaw called Schumer on how much money Obama is getting from Wall Street on Meet the Press on 9-14-08

MR. BROKAW: “Senator Schumer, we’re told today by the Obama campaign that they raised $66 million last month. That’s a very impressive number. He has set new records for raising money.”

SEN. SCHUMER: “You know, I’d say two things here. First, Obama’s contributions, more than anyone else, come in the $10s and $25 from average citizens. This is…”

MR. BROKAW: “But a lot of them come from big friends of yours on Wall Street and New York, and people have big chunks of money…”

    3. McCain is offering solutions, including calling for stricter government regulations.

    4. Obama is blaming the economic policies of the Bush Administration.

Obama-Change we can believe in: Take more campaign money from Wall Street, offer no solutions and blame others.

George Bush’s “ownership society” plan, which, funny, but they never talk about anymore, specifically directed loans and mortgages to high risk people. The point was to artificially raise the gross number of homeowners until he left office. They didn’t quite work out the timing of the foreseeable collapse. oops!

That, and the lax regulations that John McCain defended, like a good Republican putz, and the culture of corruption fostered by the Republican party that John McCain never vigorously condemned is what caused this disaster.

McCain’s chief economic advisor, Phil Graham, worked to ease the regulations of the very companies he is now lobbying for. All very corrupt and damaging to this country. In other words, typical Republican policy in action.

False about McCain. He’s been a thorn in Wall Street’s side and griping about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for a long time.

        One short example:

During an economic round-table at an Orlando tub manufacturer, Sen. John McCain talked about Florida’s housing slump and what he would do to fix it.

“We are paying a price for violating one of the fundamental principles of economics: Don’t lend money to people who can’t pay it back,” McCain said at Baker Manufacturing, which makes fiberglass bath and spa tubs.

McCain suggested cracking down on predatory lenders and mortgage brokers that “deceived people” as well as rating agencies “that gave high ratings based on nothing I know of.” He also talked about making the mortgage process easier to understand and more transparent. “Why shouldn’t (a mortgage document) be one page, and at the bottom say I understand this document?”

        http://blogs.tampabay.com/buzz/2008/01/mccain-talks-ec.html

Anybody ever hear GW Bush criticize predatory lenders?

        • Pink Panther

McCain has called Wall Street the “villain” in the things that happened in the subprime lending crisis. He also said Congress was at fault.

It’s interesting that Obama has received so much money from Wall Street. Most of his $66 million is coming from Big Money. They know he will support them, especially if elected to the White House. He is Big Money’s man.

Obama is Change Big Money can believe in.

“Long time?” The article you cite is from January of 2008. When the damage and impending disaster was already obvious to an insider like him.

          • Obama will Pardon Wall Street

Consider that the actions taking place on Wall Street may be criminal. Why are the Big Money Wall Street Executives giving so much money to Obama?

Obama will pardon them if he is in the White House.

Let’s assign blame where blame should be.

        The Chicago Sun-Times reported August 3, 2001:

Superior Bank, half-owned by the wealthy Pritzker family, was shut down by the FDIC Friday after a bailout plan by the Pritzkers, who own the Hyatt Hotel chain, and their partner, New York real estate developer Alvin Dworman, fell through. The bank failed because it had lost nearly all of its more than $2 billion of assets on bad loans to high-risk borrowers, federal regulators said.

When is someone going to talk about Obama’s financial campaign chairman – Penny Pritzker, that cost the Federal Government – taxpayers one billion dollars when Superior Bank failed, and 450 million dollars still owed to the FDIC – and they gave her 15 years to pay back – no interest.

The bank engaged in deceptive and faulty lending, questionable accounting practices, and charged hidden fees. It made thousands of dubious loans to mostly poor, strapped homeowners. A disproportionate number of them were minority.

These questions need to be asked and answered.

Mr. Obama, why does she still have a principal financial role in your campaign?

Mr Obama, if Obama elected will you waive this money owed?

Barack Obama talks how hundreds have lost in the sub prime mess. It seems like the only person to come out well was his finance manager. And he knows it.
Guess that is just the “Chicago Way”.

        http://www.loanworkout.org/ 2008/03/25/obama-penny-pritzker/

And guess who bought the servicing portfolio rights of the failed bank?
        From the FDIC:

The assets were sold to EMC Mortgage Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bear Stearns & Co., Inc.. The FDIC recovered $517 million (net) from the residual interest portfolio since Superior’s failure on July 27, 2001, including $471 million in sales proceeds.

The transfer of the servicing rights to EMC Mortgage Corporation is expected to be completed by the end of June.

So the glorious Federal Reserve bails out Bear Stearns, TO THE TUNE OF $30 BILLION and Bear Stearns was involved in buying all the toxic crap from Superior Bank in 2001?

I am sure the guys at Bear packaged and sold that stuff fast. Rinse and repeat. They now have found the new business model that they will duplicate over and over to where we sit today folks

        • Obama will Pardon Wall Street

Will Obama pardon his campaign donors if they are found guilty? Think about how well he has treated his donors so far.

Why has Wall Street executives pumped so much money into Obama’s campaign?

McCain’s plan in Iraq: kill bad guys, and give Al-Maliki plenty of “straight talk” about needing to get his government functional ASAP. I’m not concerned that McCain is going to go all “hearts and minds” or that he will be nearly as patient with Al-Maliki as Bush has been.

McCain understands that war is war, and soldiers aren’t social workers….even though the troops have done an amazing job over there, Bush and Rumsfeld really screwed up. McCain and Joe Biden were on the case back in late 2004 and throughout 2005.

  • Anna

Apparently, this is not the first time Obama has free-lanced with a foreign government.

The New York Sun reported his questionable activities with the Kenya elections – elections that resulted in a massacre.

Obama was a sitting senator at the time; the Kenyan candidate his kinsman Odinga.

This appears to be another case where he acted on his own, interfering with a foreign government.

Why doesn’t MSM report on this? I would be happy to believe that there is some reasonable explanation – but if he acted with State Dept. knowledge, why isn’t Obama claiming this as his “foreign policy experience”? It is certainly more relevant than a few childhood years in Indonesia.

Wake Up McCain, or Obama Is Going to Defeat You

Gone are the days of gentlemen politics and chivalry. The stakes are too high and the adversaries play by their own rules about which McCain and most decent Americans know nothing. Obama’s people are blind siding America. The signs are every where.

Obama, a presidential candidate is the defendant in a law suit filed against him in Philadelphia on August 21, 2008 and is interviewed by Hannity & Colms last week, and interviewed Saturday on Fox news net work and not one question is asked of him by his interviewers about the law suit.

Obama is named in a national petition to remove him as Senator of Illinois on the basis of unethical and criminal activities and no one ever mentions that in any of his TV appearances or interviews.

Very little is ever mentioned of the collection of nefarious characters Husein Obama has been related and connected to, inspired and mentored by, jointly raised money with, worked on the same projects and supported. It is a list of whose who of the dark side. Frank Marshal Davis, Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers & Bernadine Dorhn, Tony Rezko, Blackwell, Father Feghler, Louis Farrakhan, Dr. Khalid Adullah Tariq (aka Donald Warden),Raila Odinga (cousin) Obongo Obama (brother), Ahmed Yousef (Hamas) are just a few among a very long list. It is too long a list and the characters too similar. In Obama’s short time on this planet, it is no coincidence all these names are closely associated with him. These people are net work and foundation to the Obamas’ fundamental belief system. They are and have been his support group.

Whether or not Palin was for the “bridge to no where” before she was against it and lipstick have been the issues that literally millions and millions of dollars worth of coveted media broadcasting have been wasted. Is this one more method of censorship and controlling the of the press? Is the media flim flamming America? If the major media leaders fail to make issues of Obama’s crimes, lies, and denials but makes issues over some of the minor mistakes of Palin or McCain, I have to acknowledge that the media is being manipulated! The media is manipulating the public. We the public are being denied the facts about Obama we are entitled to know.

One of the most deviant characters to ever run for president has a long provable track record of criminal, unethical, and extremely suspicious friends and activities, and neither Republicans nor the media even mention it, let alone investigate. All of this information is known to media, the McCain camp, and any body seriously following this campaign. Why isn’t McCain campaign using some of the above information in their ads. The whopper—the law suit against Obama possibly not being eligible to be president due to the question of his citizenship should be blasted every where. Why isn’t it?

Agreed. I am going to send it to the local VFW and American Legion. Any of us can do likewise. Just call the local offices and get their FAX number. Then cut and past the articles from here AND the newspapers article or at least attribution. (Obama and the MSM have been poisoning the well about internet smears, but only as they apply to him)
Send it out to all your email contacts. Ask them to send it on.

Has the UK Telegraph or the Canadian Free Press picked this up?

We are it. We are America’s last line of defense. Who we gonna call? 911 Germany? 911 France? 911 Kenya? Hell NO. They voted for him to be KING of the WORLD.

No one will come save us. We are it.

Isn’t the MSNBC article from June an admission of guilt by obama about violating the Logan Act with Zebari?

Superimpose this upon Zebari’s going on record in the NYP that Obama tried to get him to delay withdrawal (so OBama could take credit for it).

    firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/06/16/1146192.aspx

this was reported on back in June, by MSNBC.
    Read for yourself:
“Obama spoke briefly (about 10 minutes) with reporters about his telephone conversation with Zebari.

Obama told Zebari, he said, that Congress should be involved in any negotiations regarding a Status of Forces agreement with Iraq. He suggested it may be better to wait until the next administration to negotiate such an agreement.”

(and wouldn’t it be IRONIC that MSNBC holds the proof of Zebari’s statement in its own archives?)

  • oilman

Obamasalam wants his share of the oil commissions, is that why he wants to participate in the negotiations?

    I believe it.

    Question:
Can the ENTIRE military and the rest of the US fit under that bus of Obama’s? It’s getting damn crowded underneath there.

    Goal for today:
Everyone forward this story to everyone you can.

    GO!

  • doc99

Obama’s Denial doesn’t really sound like much of a denial. What say you?

    • Zeke

Even more egregious is that he has just accused our ally, Iraq of lying about what he said. McCain didn’t lie, he just reacted to the news that Obama had violated the Logan Act.
Iraq’s government didn’t lie about Obama making the request, so what does he have to complain about? Getting caught.
Doc, we can expect one hell of a WORM to crawl up out of the night soil that is the Obama campaign, but I’m at a loss as to how they’ll successfully spin this.
Toss in Obama’s relationship to Alsamarre, currently under a flight warrant in Iraq after escaping with the hired help from Blackwater and this takes one big-assed flying leap into a LeCarre novel.
So much behind the scenes maneuvering by so many disparate groups and individuals and what do they have in common?
Hatred for America and Barrack Obama.

Ok, Im sick to death of hearing all this drivel day after day. I live in an Obama-town. Believe me Im sick of the crap. It gets me down.

One of the local newspapers – The Austin Chronicle -a free rag that is very popular here – nothing but pro-Obama context from day one. Ive always felt the tone of this paper was ageist and chauvinistic, now its totally in the can.

This bit is written “as if”. As if the author were truly a Hillary supporter trying to decide. What a crock! After the 1st paragraph designed to lure in us Hillary supporters adrift in a sea of election confusion, the next 9 paragraphs are devoted to slamming McCain. In the rest, he says not one thing about BO. Slanted journalism anyone?

This column is really wrongheaded about the Georgia situation, as well as in every other respect, but especially this propaganda that Georgia was an aggressor while Russia was some ‘white night’. The Russians are fomenting rebellions within the former soviet republics.

I read last week in the Vaba Eesti Sona (an estonian newspaper published in NY, NY for decades) that a couple ‘farmers’ on the NE Estonian/Russian border have declared themselves communist and independent from the democratic republic of Estonia and part of Russia. I believe Russia will announce its intent to “liberate” these communists from the democratic republic of Estonia at some point (a la Georgia). Undoubtedly we’ll start seeing this in other formerly soviet states as well. Btw, “liberating” these now independent nations was the same rhetoric they used last time the Russians invaded and occupied these democratic republics after WWII.

      • anon

        oops! ‘white knight!’

  • anon

Just wondering, other than the quick blurb on Fox yesterday has anyone else seen or heard this reported? It wasn’t up on Drudge anymore this morning either.

  • Jane from Tx

You can bet Obama and the entire media will get on board with calling this revelation another ‘diversionary tactic’ by the Republicans.

He believes that he has total power now, what’s he going to believe if he becomes POTUS?

    • anon

I don’t know, its a pretty serious allegation and its attributed as first hand from the identified Iraqi official with whom Obama met. If its true as reported, McCain’s response to the report is spot on in its description and tenor. This isn’t “Logan Act violation” handwriting on a wall – its more like spray paint across the resolution desk in the oval office.
