Do You Have Something In Common With The JournoListers?

Hey, you just might. I admit, I was surprised to see that I agreed with at least one opinion of theirs. But I did. Turns out, the JournoListers hate Keith Olbermann, too! I know, right??

Now, I have said before I used to love the guy, DVR’ed him every night. But, once he started with the raging misogyny against Hillary Clinton, even defending David Schuster for calling Chelsea a whore and Hillary a pimp, I knew I could not stomach him anymore. But then again, I wasn’t an Obama sycophant like the vast majority of the JournoListers are, and Olbermann is. So imagine my surprise when I read that was one of the reasons they hate him, too:

[snip] At issue was a segment Olbermann had run about Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California who stirred debate in 2009 when she defended traditional marriage.

Following the segment, the subject on Journolist was “I hate Keith Olbermann again,” and the members of the list let it rip.

The Nation’s Katha Pollitt began the group’s rant. “He and Michael Musto did this whole long riff about beauty contestant Carrie ‘opposite marriage’ Prejean’s breast implants, stupidity, breast implants, tacky clothes, earrings, breast implants. They went on and on about how she was ‘part plastic’ and pathetic. You’d think they were celibate vegans who spent their lives zen meditating. It was just a whole TV humiliation of her, and it made me feel sorry for her, which wasn’t easy,” Pollitt said.

Michael O’Hare, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, said the segment was “about as funny as a rubber crutch. Odd when a reasonable person’s internal alarm doesn’t go off in a situation like that …’I’m going to ridicule a girl who’s obviously at her personal limits just trying to look conventionally pretty on national TV? What does that make me’?”

O’Hare even suggested friends stage an intervention for Olbermann. “If anyone on the list is a friend of Olbermann, friendship demands that you give him a head-up about this lapse,” he said.

Julian Zelizer, a Princeton professor and CNN contributor, said Olbermann’s root problem is his misogyny. “I can’t take him anytime. I think to write off his mysogyny (sic) as limited to Musto is just not accurate. That very much defined much of how he talked about Clinton as well as others.”

Zelizer was referring to a series of instances during the primary campaign between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama when critics from both sides of the aisle criticized Olbermann for allegedly sexist treatment towards Hillary. Olbermann was forced to apologize. [snip]

Incredible, isn’t it? A number of these folks really get it about Olbermann, and his blatant misogyny. No one was more surprised than I was, especially given the level of misogyny leveled at Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin by many on the left.

But still, Olbermann had some supporters, like David Roberts, who appreciated his getting out the liberal news to the masses, so there is that. But that is not so surprising.

And while I am on the whole JournoList thing again, Tucker Carlson, the Editor in Chief of Daily Caller has written a follow-up letter to address the expose of Journolist. He writes about the two arguments currently being used to justify what these journalists did, and some claims that they are making. Specifically, he wrote:

[snip]The response hasn’t been all that furious, actually, probably because there isn’t much for the exposed members of Journolist to say. We caught them. They’re ashamed. The wise ones are waiting for the tempest to pass.

There have, however, been two lines of argument that we probably ought to respond to, if only because they may harden into received wisdom if we don’t. The first is that our pieces have proved only that liberal journalists have liberal views, and that’s hardly news.

To be clear: We’re not contesting the right of anyone, journalist or not, to have political opinions. (I, for one, have made a pretty good living expressing mine.) What we object to is partisanship, which is by its nature dishonest, a species of intellectual corruption. Again and again, we discovered members of Journolist working to coordinate talking points on behalf of Democratic politicians, principally Barack Obama. That is not journalism, and those who engage in it are not journalists. They should stop pretending to be. The news organizations they work for should stop pretending, too.

The second line of attack we’ve encountered since we began the series is familiar to anyone who has ever published a piece whose subject didn’t like the finished product: “You quoted me out of context!”

The short answer is, no we didn’t. I edited the first four stories myself, and I can say that our reporter Jonathan Strong is as meticulous and fair as anyone I have worked with. [snip]

I recommend reading the entire series at Daily Caller. It is certainly informative, though the piece about Keith Olbermann cannot help but make me smile. He SO deserves to receive this disdain by some of the very elite of whom he seems to count himself. Teehee! It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving fellow. To quote Jeremiah Wright, “the chickens have come home to roost!”

And how.

Typical “guests” on Kieth`s…. Don`t you love me show.

I can definitely get on board with loathing KO!!   You really have to wonder what the hell makes any of these journo’s tick…on second thought, it might be too much for me…. 8-)

I have to admit we loved some of Keithy’s rants against Bush but then he went over the ledge finding hate and conspiracy under every rock especially when it came to Obama in the early days of the campaign.

The night of May 31, 2008 was the last night we watched MSNBC.

  • HARP

Poor Barry….He must be nostalgic for these days.

  • Janis

“A number of these folks really get it about Olbermann, and his blatant misogyny.”

And yet they still didn’t speak up, certainly not when it would have done some good.  If that’s the best we can expect from them, then they can all go to hell.

  • Sassy

Ed Shultz was recorded saying that MSNBC “worked like hell” to get healthcare passed.
I’m wondering if we are in hell now, or if it just seems like it!

  • propertius

Much as I disagreed with Ms. Prejean, I could never understand why the Obots pilloried her when all she did was agree with Obama about gay marriage. If you wanted to shame someone publically, then why pick a pageant contestant over a “progressive” politician with a pretty obvious case of homophobia who was taking the LGBT vote for granted?

To me, the most shameful discussion on the list (even more than the talk of spiking stories or slanting coverage) was the discussion about trying to silence Fox News. However much I may dislike Fox, the notion of working “journalists” advocating muzzling opinion is just vile.

It is, however, nice to know that even his colleagues can appreciate just how loathsome KO is ;)

LOL! HARP, looney granola sister in Oregon used to sing that song like a hundred times a day.

Guess she brainwashed herself because sure enough, she voted for O.

  • oowawa

LOL Sassy–Big Ed was also very hurt that, after he “busted his ass for Obama,” Thee One had the nerve to appear on Fox’s Bret Baier, opposite Schultz in the same time slot!  Ah, the humanity!

LOL–But maybe, HARP, these apes are more descriptive of the ass-kissing that Keith hosts on Countdown:

  • Sassy

During the primary, our local CBS affiliate televised BO’s entire campaign stop in nearby Virginia. That was unprecedented, and sitting presidents never received that type coverage. I have not watched a single second of anything on their channel since, and probably never will. I have a short fuse and a long memory!

  • Guest

I have a feeling that this “vacation” is merely a prelude to Olbermann announcing his “retirement” from MSNBC. It could very well be that he’s managed to upset MSNBC brass behind the scenes one time too many. Not to sound conspiratorial but the suddeness of this “vacation” and the jumping ship of people associated with his program indicates to me that MSNBC brass may have told him he was leaving MSNBC and to take time off to figure out how to handle it publicly. I also think that if he refuses to handle it gracefully and fall on his sword so to speak, that they will fire him outright.

I am almost certain that after he does depart from MSNBC stories will surface from former co-workers which will be even more damaging to Olbermann.

  • Sassy

They need to retire several more along with Olbermann, and then fumigate the studio!

  • Olivia1998

Obama’s campaign used to book football stadiums, rock bands and food vendors and offer everything free. That’s why he got crowds of 60,000 & 80,000. They did it in Germany and the MSM didn’t report it. Now we know why.  Does anyone find it a little suspicious that this Sirley S video came out the same week as Daily Caller exposed the MSM? I do

I no longer watch MSNBC since the way the treated Hillary I rarely watch CNN I am left with FOX which can be crazy on a given night.  But I did like when Glen Beck Called Obama mother a communist and has  Frank Marshall Davis  FBI files l (Uncle Frank) which his section of his in reprint does not talk about ?

  • Ferd Ritz Cracker Berfle

Do I have something in common with the Journolisters?

    Frankly, no.

    1 – I work for a living.
    2 – I have a set of ethical standards.
    3 – I don’t violate those standards.
4 – I don’t really care what the elites think.
5 – I don’t really care what the American herd thinks.
6 – I don’t want to lead the herd either over the cliff or away from it as what they do is their business and if they become Darwin award winners, so be it.
7 – It is not my place to determine what constitutes smart or, conversely, stupid with reference to the actions of my fellow Americans.
8- I mind my own business.
9 – I prefer to lead by example and not by yammering using words given me by a machine.
10 – No one would listen anyway.

The floor is open to questions.

  • Ferd Ritz Cracker Berfle

KO began to believe he was Edward R. Murrow and went insane; he never was and I stopped watching him in 02/08.

  • Ferd Ritz Cracker Berfle

RRRA: Thank you for the expose on this gasbag of unparalleled proportions. I am ashamed I ever watched him–truly. To think that the same illiterati who watch him and fawn over his every word are the same who accuse Glenn Beck of being extreme is all too laughable. I suppose that is what separates those who think from those who only follow. Wow.

  • Ferd Ritz Cracker Berfle

    LOL Sassy–Big Ed

Now, oowawa, PC isn’t allowed here. It is plain and simply fat-arse Ed. He never learned to push away from the table as demonstrated by his liberal views.

And Charles Krauthammer as brilliant as ever on this evenings Bret Baier show, said (paraphasing) in response to Ed Shultz’s whine on why Obama was on Fox and not his show:  “It’s because Ed doesn’t have any viewers.”

    SNAP!

  • AC Gluten Free Cracker

Check that Ferd Ritz Cracker Berfle, I would at least listen.

  • tango

I would love to see the whole Morning Joke show cast get their walking papers except for Willie since he’s pretty harmless. I’d also like to see Chris Matthews and Dylan Ratigan go. Or at least put Ratigan back on CNBC and let him stick to purely financial matters. And if I never see Donnie “Douche” Deutch ever again on tv, that’d be perfectly fine with me.

  • Sick of the MSM

I stopped watching him on ESPN! I was against his misogyny way back then!

  • Guest

Olbermann simply makes personal attacks against anyone that does not agree with his very far left positions and spews hate and vile that can find no other rival until you get down to the hate mongers of the KKK. Beck and Limbaugh I don’t watch but are passionate and back up their issue based opinions.

Olbermann is simply a hateful miserable person that will fabricate a story and facts be damned. With serious psychological issues including but not limited to Misogyny, Megalomania, Strong antisocial/Borderline personality disorders of varying degrees, etc.

  • sybilll

Olbie did come back from vacation to give an epic (DU’s description, not mine) Special Comments about the Sherrod saga.  Glenn Beck’s radio show had a little fun with it:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOE7wuVbiy8&feature=player_embedded

Best riff I have seen in a long time.  Yes, I know, you know I never, ever saw Olbie before.  True.

  • Ferd Ritz Cracker Berfle

Yeah, AC, I never cease to be amazed at how simple the public is. Everyone, including the  center and right won’t listen to the hard truths. They’d rather be in la-la land. Beck had an impassioned show tonight. He is correct in many ways and we are in for a long haul. We’re fucked right now because the boneheads who constitute the electorate thought they would get away with murder by electing Shrub and then used the same logic to elect the Magic black dud(e). There are no easy answers.

  • helenk

he would not make a pimple on Edward R Murrrow’s backside.

he contributes nothing to real journalism.

Yes, Ferd. You’re doomedl when you start believing your own press.

  • Bronwyn

Pat Buchanan has one of the best laughs on television.  He invariably makes me laugh too.  Out loud.

Don’t agree with him on all — I think he’s over the top on some issues that I won’t bring up here to fend off any battles — but I ALWAYS listen to him.  His knowledge of history is amazing.  His recall is astounding.  Whenever a historical topic is raised, he can name not only the major players and events, but also the exact years.  I’ve fact-checked him a couple times and darn if he didn’t have it just right.

  • CindyWhiteBaguetteW/OliveOilForDipping

Very interesting and terrific post, Rev. Amy. Thank you!
BTW, have I missed it, or has anyone dared to mention Tim Russert as being part of this group? He just HAD to have been….esp with his (premature) pronouncement that Obama would be, no doubt about it, our next president and the First Black Prez, etc. (and that was before the primary season was over, right?..because Tim passed away either in May or early June of ’08….I’m almost positive the DNC had not met when he made that remark)
Rangel was carving up Russert’s son today in an interview and that’s what reminded me of Tim and the possibility that he was a Journolist.

  • CindyWhiteBaguetteW/OliveOilForDipping

    Bronwyn–I totally agree with you!

  • Bronwyn

I have been DVR’ing Morning Joe but it’s gotten really, really boring.  Today, for example, they spent endless time over-analyzing the Shirley Sherrod episode, about which I think they’d already devoted at least two days before (I don’t know because I got tired of them and erased them).

My other main beef with the show is Mika, who is increasingly strident and condescending to her co-workers and even with her guests, who at the least, many of them, know a GREAT DEAL MORE than she does.  I have listened to her carefully and all she does is concur or disagree, minus any truly meaningful points or arguments of her own.

Also:  it is baldly evident that Mika is on direct dial, via her Blackberry, with people in the White House and that they tell her EXACTLY what to say.  That’s not a theoretical accusation that I’m making.  Her cohorts have accused her of just that, and I’ve seen her repeatedly check her Blackberry and then immediately defend all things Obama.

  • Samb

THIS IS KEITH OLBERMANN LISTENING TO OBAMA
HELL, THIS IS ALL KOOL-AIDE DRINKERS LISTENING TO OBAMA.
    :-P

  • Bronwyn

    I’d listen too.

  • Bronwyn

Since I pride myself on flipping channels, I caught Olbermann’s “Special Commentary” on the Shirley Sherrod crisis.  It was so full of hyperbolic, gassy rhetoric that I was laughing out loud.

Another thing:  As much as I’ve liked some of Rachel and Keith’s coverage of the oil spill — at least they, and Dylan Ratigan, have brought on experts critical of the operation and clean-up — both Rachel and Keith did NOT sufficiently place blame on the White House for its intervention in forcing Vilsack to fire Sherrod.  They blamed Vilsack.  He does deserve a hell of a lot of blame for doing the White House’s bidding without fact-checking himself. But he was under intense pressure to act fast because, as someone pointed out today (I think on Brett Baier’s show), Obama’s popularity among white voters is sliding downhill fast, and the White House sought to gain points by firing a black person.  It was just that naked, what they did.  Disgusting.

(P.S.  Breitbart deserves plenty of blame too. His fairly new Web sites have become quite popular, but I am extra-cautious about the veracity of their reports, especially now.)

  • Bronwyn

I get Canadian stations since I live near the border.  Their news programs are ever so much more civilized than ours.  And I like the news programs on BBC America.  It’s getting nigh impossible to find rational, civilized reporting and commenting on U.S. TV news channels.

  • sybilll

Ferd, I absolutely understand listening to a commentator sending out a message with which you agree, and I will take your word that he was relevant at one time.  I actually like listening to, and checking on opposing views, just to make sure I am not stuck in an echo chamber.  My cable provider dropped MSNBC years ago, so, I only see his buffoonery when he is mocked online.

  • Bronwyn

Amy, excellent posts by you on the Daily Caller series.  Now I’m off to read all of Tucker Carlson’s letter.

Carlson has been derided, viciously, by the Left for years, but I always found him rational and able to make incisive remarks and observations.

  • oowawa

“When you start believing your own press . . . ”

The next step is your persona becomes exaggerated and you start to become a caricature of yourself.  It happened to Olbermann after he first started his rants against Bush.  It arguably happened to Bob Dylan.  It can happen to glamor queens like Zsa Zsa Gabor, Marilyn Monroe, and Anna Nicole Smith.  It will happen to Obama.

  • AbigailAdams

Actually, Olivia1998 — he mooched off events that had been scheduled months in advance, like the time he “campaigned” in Portland, OR, and they said his crowd was “something like 75,000 people, dude!”  Trouble was most of those people were there for another event (in the summer, there are always weekend events involving thousands of people, just like most NW cities).  In Germany, what kind of twenty-something isn’t going to turn out for free beer and music in Germany?  Or anywhere?  He was reportedly doing this all over the place that summer.  It would have been like Clinton going to a state fair and the press reporting there were 500K people there!

  • AbigailAdams

And I think, whether this was planned or not, that this Shirrod story sets the stage for the lefist media to overwhelm the public with the message that Fox cannot be trusted and so it is as good as shutting Fox down.  Shirrod herself is lying when she takes a breath and tells “us” from cnn/mslsd that Fox is racist or that they unfairly coverered this story without then admitting its error.

  • ~~JustMe~~

    Cannot look =-O O:-)

I never felt comfortable watching Keith Olberman — his humor is mean.  If someone has to be mean to make a point, it is lost on me.  And I don’t mean mean like “you hurt my itty bitty feewings”, but malicious, cruel.  It speaks volumes about the heart of the person.

through this mess I have  been thinking of Ernie Pyle. for the younger people he was a journalist during WW2. He was so respected by our soldiers on the ground and the people of the country for his honest reporting.
If you ever find it there was a movie called  The Story of GI Joe that was about him.
How did we ever go from such great reporters to these insufferable stenos of today?

helenk—that is so interesting about Ernie Pyle. I’m ashamed to say that I’ve heard the name before, but thought he was a fictional character! Thanks for the info!

  • CindyWhiteBaguetteW/OliveOilForDipping

Bronwyn—back in the ’70′s I watched Pat Buchanan being interviewed, and that’s when I fell for him (even though i was  Dem)
The interviewer thought Pat would act all sour and negative, with the smoke still clearing from Nixon’s resignation. But Pat, ever the optimist with that upbeat persona, said something like…..”Well, I’m the only guy from the Nixon years who doesn’t have to check-in with a probation officer before leaving town!” Then he gave that wonderful laugh of his.

Before anyone here puts a halo on poor poor Shirley Sherrod’s head – please – as that old dude on the radio used to say – read the rest of the story

There is a whole lot of history there with Shirley & her husband – involves the original Black Panthers & the Ayers Weather Underground SDS group – also – if you listen to the whole vid of Shirley doing her mea culpa speech – she also blasts away all the evil rich Republicans as racist & makes other derogatory comments – also she said she was speaking on the anniversary of the death of her father who was murdered by white men but no one was ever convicted – several people did research about this & she has changed her story or “misspoke” as the case may be - one time she was a 17 year old still in high school in 1963 & her baby brother was born two months later in June 1965  – just misspoke – another type she was a college student and this was when she bacame a civil rigts activist – I’m just wondering – there is no limitation on murder – if they know who did it – why wasn’t it followed up on?  Why isn’t something being done now? Like someone said – watch what the other hand is doing……….. this was a distraction again & stupid Vilisak got thrown under the damm bus – damm but it is crowded under her – all those fraud people can get their own damm bus – we’ve been under this one since May 31, 2008……………… besides – they stink………….eeeuuuuu!!!

MSNBC had been my news source for at least 3 years prior to 2008.  Overnight they changed from a news source to pushing B0 for the dem nomination.  I was stunned!  Horrified!

I did not watch beyond February 2008 because I could no longer control my screaming outbursts when I heard their garbage – not only  Olberman, Matthews, and Maddow, but Tim Russert (no wonder he died!), Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell, the Morning Joe hosts - ALL - were turning themselves inside out to make points for 0bama and put Hillary down.  They didn’t even have a spokesperson for Hillary on their panels and even the republicans spoke highly of B0.

As a liberal feminist political activist for a number of years, I had never heard of endorsements for candidates by their fellow political party members  in the primary season – MUCH LESS from the news media!  CNN was almost as bad with the same positive message about B0 - Wolf Blitzer, John King, Gloria Borger, *Jeffrey Tobin* – one of the journolists who has recently been outed as having a “love child” with his secret media liason.  Tobin is quite married with children.

Yes, the newest shocking disclosures of the news media are disturbing, but until the Caucus Fraud is totally aired that gave B0 the 207 delegates needed to **win** the dem nomination, nothing else will matter very much.  It is no more than the disclosure last week of how Al Franken won the US Senate race in MN by only a few hundred votes.  After an investigation it was found that those votes came from prison inmates.  Yeah, that’s pretty bad, but is anything going to be done about it?  No!

While nothing would probably be done if people were convinced of 0bama’s illegitimate nomination, it would probably keep the same fraud from happening in 2012 and hopefully cause 0 to lose.  That’s the only way he’s going to lose re-election.  They will cheat their way to the 2nd term just like they did the first time.

  • FranSC

Don’t know why Ed is so “hurt”/pissed – whatever!  The first week , Ed Shultz was given a front row seat at the daily WH briefing for all the world to see what being a loud mouthed, dogged defender of 0bama can do for you.  That should be enough to last a lifetime, Stupid.

  • ~~JustMe~~

Guest, you are giving MSNBC0 toooo much credit.  You are suggesting that somebody over there makes grown-up judgements.  Sorry, but you are dead wrong.  The more bizarre they become, the better they all seem to like it.  I never once heard a voice of descent except occasionally from Joe Scarborough.

  • FranSC

Bronwyn, I’m afraid Mika’s father and brother may have much to do with her having that job.  Don’t mean to undermind any woman on such things, even Mika!  But her Assistant Sec of State father (I believe in the Carter Admin) often appeared on MJ and served as a campaign advisor to B0 on foreign affairs.

One of Mika’s brothers was an 0bama campaign bigwig.  (The other brother was heavily involved in one of the republican candidates for POTUS, I think it was.)  Mika has also written a book released this year.

So, she’s pretty impressed with herself to say the least.

I heard Andrew Breitbart explain several times what he was trying to do in his release of this tape.  His focus was not Sherrod.  His focus was exposing the hypocricy of the NAACP and their resolution the day before, condeming the Tea Party as a racist group.  Breitbart was infuriated by that and released this tape that had been sent to him as evidence of this woman (Sherrod) speaking to the NAACP and making racist statements about a white farmer while they cheered her on.

Breitbart also was the one who offered to pay $100,000 to anyone who could produce a video tape or proof that GA Rep. John Lewis and Rep. Eldridge Cleaver were called the “N” word at the laughable re-enactment of the MLK march into Selma in the 60′s that Pelosi, Lewis, Cleaver and others were mockingly doing trying to turn the HC debate into a Civil Rights issue.  To date, no one has come forward with anything.   There were plenty of cameras recording this silly re-enactment trying to say any disagreements with their side would be racist.   Only problem was, in their pretend Civil Rights march, these three were laughing their A**’s off at how they were so in the Tea Party attendees face with this fake march.  This was unlike the somber MLK and marchers in 1964.

The Sherrod part was not intended, plus the NAACP was the one holding the 2nd part of the tape and almost didn’t release it.  Breitbart didn’t know that part existed.

Frankly, I’m inclined to believe his side of the story.  He didn’t release the first part knowing the 2nd part existed.  He didn’t have the 2nd part.  So, why didn’t the NAACP look at the whole tape before they did and before they savagely fired Sherrod?  THAT, was not Breitbart’s fault.  He had no control over the other half of the tape.

I think Breitbart is right – that they are trying to destroy him.  They are still mad about him exposing the ACORN workers who were willing to support a potential prostitution business that included young girls from El Salvadore under 13.  Sherrod can sue him all she wants, but things are not as they seem.  Sherrod has come after FoxNews very unfairly.  They all were supportive of her.

Only Bill O’Reilly mentioned it on Tues evening – not Beck or Hannity.  He asked for Sherrod’s resignation.  By that time, she had already been pulled over on the side of the road and ordered to resign.     If I were Breitbart, I would be really mad at whoever sent me that tape.

  • FranSC

I find myself agreeing with Tucker a lot since he’s been at Fox.  But, I heard him three times talk about these journolists and he did not mention they supported 0bama over Hillary until I saw the video on here from Fox and Friends.  Even then he just barely mentioned her.

That’s my big problem with Fox.  They still despise the Clintons and are terrified they could in effect help the Clintons.  If Tucker would talk about that angle of this story, it would give it much more zing than it has.

I’m afraid that’s why Fox will not continue to investigate the Caucus Fraud.  They would die in mass if they had a prominent hand in Hillary being elected POTUS in 2012.  They will let it go before they will take that risk.  This is what I revolt against with FoxNews.

I can’t tolerate KO and haven’t watched a single show since the primary debate moderated by Mathews and Russert (June, 07 (?). He has no right to use Edward R. Murrow’s sign off. It’s probably in the public domain so he can’t be sued, but it’s insulting to a man who literally put his life on the line for journalist integrity.

Bret Bair had a wonderful picture of Hillary and Sec Gates today. They were in the DMZ in front of a window with a North Korean soldier on the other side. I apologize for going OT, but I Googled and couldn’t find it so I don’t know if it’s real. It may be photoshopped.

  • NAN

Like so many the day KO tuned on his hate luster for Hillary is the day I flipped him off, let loose with the F-BOMB U AND I’m outta here, I’ve never looked back.
But I must say TUCKER CARLSON giving advice about the media being bias, WT, remembering HIS days, the stupid BOWE TIE and FAUX NEWS. GIVE ME A BREAK….Hey Carl, HELLO POT.

    FranSC

    You are really gullible.

Breitbart said in his original CNN interview that he had the tape since March. He knew exactly what he was doing. He was race-baiting to somehow try and link Obama to “reverse racism” if there ever is such a thing.

Breitbart is the worst kind of scum.  That guy has been caught in so many lies. Why would you believe anything out of that guys mouth.

  • Nice Try

    Amy,

If you are going to read all the Daily Caller’s posts then I also suggest you read some of the other posts by people like Azra Klein that have completely cut down all the false claims of the Daily Caller. Then you can decide for yourself what is true.

My own view is that all Carlson has proven is that there was a email list of left of center commentators and a very few actual journalists that were discussion with each other. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. There is no evidence of any kind of a coordinated get out the message type of scandal. If you can come up with any evidence, say pick a topic and show how there was actual coordination, I would love to see it. In addition, almost all the people on the list were opinionated commentators and not actual journalists. That makes a huge difference.

  • Donna Call Me A Racist Brazile

Prime Obot I’m glad to see you’ve changed your name to Nice Try. It has a much better ring to it. Also, I’m less inclined to think of you out in some pumpkin patch.

  • Armymom

Wrong again. The only worst kind of scum would be someone who constantly says that Breitbart has lied. When? Just when the hell did he? Don’t tell me ACORN because we all know that was true. He DID say that the tape wasn’t about Sherrod, it was about the NAACP’s hypocracy. Pull your head out of Obama’s ass and come up for air.

  • Armymom

Wrong again. How about you tell us about the connection between Google and Obama’s administration, or the name on journolist who is now working for BIden and arranged a white house meeting for some of the journolist. This isn’t going away no matter how you want to spin it.

  • kenoshamarge cracked cracker

I agree Psstt, it’s that massive ego that thinks “they” are so much wiser than the rest of us.

  • Armymom

It’s still lying. But when you have some “wet behind the ears” Ezra Klein, who wouldn’t know the truth if it bit him in the ass” telling you what to think and how to frame the debate, then we’re in for a world of hurt in this country. Someone ought to tell his mommy so she can shake the shit out of him.

    On Victory in Europe

He is writing on a ship off the coast of Okinawa about American GIs

For the companionship of two-and-a-half years of death and misery is a spouse that tolerates no divorce. Such companionship finally becomes a part of one’s soul, and it cannot be obliterated.”

“But there are many of the living who have had burned into their brains forever the unnatural sight of cold dead men scattered over the hillsides and in the ditches along the high rows of hedge throughout the world.
Dead men by mass production — in one country after another — month after month and year after year. Dead men in winter and dead men in summer.
Dead men in such familiar promiscuity that they become monotonous.
Dead men in such monstrous infinity that you come almost to hate them.
These are the things that you at home need not even try to understand. To you at home they are columns of figures, or he is a near one who went away and just didn’t come back. You didn’t see him lying so grotesque and pasty beside the gravel road in France.
We saw him, saw him by the multiple thousands. That’s the difference…”

  • Rosa

One of the questions I have had since this Sherrod  event is WHY?  if the NAACP was where her speech was given , then why did they not reveiw the tape along with the white house before they panicked and fired her as   a knee jerk reaction.

I thought  that she still was playing to the audience especially after hearing her comments later.

  • Buzz water cracker Latte

Actually, the problem bots are having with Breitbart is because his ploy worked very well.

Breitbart effectively knocked the NAACP leg out of the race card platform and also because of the quick to judge reactions from the govt and the NAACP – it made them look like they were trying to sweep something back under the rug.  Obama comes out looking like he has racial preferences since he can take the time to call a black person but not a white Cambridge police officer to apologize for his own racially tainted missteps.

Score a huge victory for Breitbart.  Like it or not, he turn the tide.

  • kenoshamarge cracked cracker

Ahh, for the good old days when I was young and “knew” everything. Or at least I thought I did.

Those who have to work out their destiny in the real world get kicked in the ass enough to shake some of their preconceptions and misconceptions.

Egoists like Klein start at or near the top and think they should be patted on the head for their “acheivements” and applauded for their wisdom.

Like you said, “wet behind the ears” and in his case damn well apt to stay that way. What’s to learn when you all ready know everything? Or think you do.

Mika on ‘Moring Joe’ always tooted BO’s horn in 2008,  but Joe Scarborough was a fan of Hillary, even called her his “girlfriend.”  I believe he has been pretty fair towards Hillary — at least on the rare occasion when I was up at 3 am and watched the show.  Has he turned on Hillary since 2008?

Bronwyan: you must mean “his knowledge of *selective* history” . Buchanan to this day still shamefully denies the Holocaust. That’s not something one may “disagree with” that’s flat out lunatic.

In a March 17, 1990, syndicated column, Buchanan wrote that it would have been impossible for Jews to die in the gas chambers of the Treblinka death camp, and referred to a “so-called Holocaust survivor syndrome,” which he described as involving “group fantasies of martyrdom and heroics.”
Buchanan once likened convicted Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk to Jesus Christ:
In his syndicated column of April 17, 2009, Buchanan not only called Demjanjuk “the sacrificial lamb whose blood washes away the stain of Germany’s sins,” but he wrote that the “spirit” behind the U.S. Justice Department’s efforts to bring Demjanjuk to justice is “the same satanic brew of hate and revenge that drove another innocent Man up Calvary that first Good Friday 2,000 years ago.”

  • Rosa

  • Nice Try

    Armymom,

I will give you just two examples of direct lies from Breitbart from just this week. You can search the web and find many other lies and distortions from Breitbart.

Breitbart invents NAACP audience cheers and applause, claims they are the real story. On Hannity, Breitbart claimed that the real story is how “the audience was laughing and applauding as she described how she maltreated the white farmer.” He also said that “The point is that the NAACP at a dinner honoring this person is cheering on a person describing — describing a white person as the other.” And on a July 21 Good Morning America interview, Breitbart again claimed that his video shows that “at an NAACP event, people are applauding racism.” But in his initial post, Breitbart described the audience reaction as only “nodding approval and murmurs of recognition and agreement.” And in fact, Breitbart’s claim that the audience was applauding as she “described how she maltreated the white farmer” is demonstrably false. Contrary to Breitbart’s claim, the audience does not applaud or cheer at any point during the story about her interaction with the farmer.

Secondly, he is caught in a lie in his very first interview with CNN.
KING: When did you come — when did you come into possession of this tape?
BREITBART: In March of this year.
Pretty simple, isn’t it? Question asked; question answered.
Now go to about 2:40 in the video, where John King asks again when he came into possession of the tapes.
KING: If the NAACP is allegedly going to release the entire tape sometime later today, but do you have the entire tape?
BREITBART: We just got it in the mail. We were sent two separate videos by a person who is worried about having a journalist type of allensky (ph) attack against it, so he — I’m protecting this person. He sent me these two videos and he’s now sent us the full video.
And if I get the OK from the people who have the rights to the video to put it up on the Internet, I have no problem with it. Again, I have — my problem is not with Shirley Sherrod. My problem is with the double-standard in the media that it’s willing to play up that the Tea Party is racist without any evidence. This is my evidence to the NAACP that they condoned racism at a freedom dinner around a group that’s supposed to be about non-discrimination.
KING: Let me ask you lastly. You say you received, if I heard you correctly, in March you received the earlier portions of the tape?
BREITBART: Yes — no, I was aware of the two — I was aware of the two of them. They were transferred to me this weekend, but I was aware — I was made aware of the tapes in March.

Did you catch that? He first says he got the tape in March and then he says he knew about it in March. Which is it? I guess he realized that he had to change his story because if he really did have it in March that would have given him plenty of time to check it out and verify the big BS claims he makes about it.

In addition, his entire video and claiming that Sherrod was a racist was a lie. Breitbart flatly stated that Sherrod discriminated against someone she was supposed to be helping in her role as a USDA representative. This is not true.

  • Donna Call Me A Racist Brazile

Prime Obot don’t you need to be taking your kids back to the pumpkin patch?

    Stop the love fest!

  • Nice Try

    Sybill,

Out of 10,000s of emails all Hotair.com has got is some very general point about some very general ideas from Klein that somehow made it to NBC. There is no actual proof the NBC ever got anything from Journolist emails or even directly from Klein.

And nothing wrong with Klein, as an opinonated commentartor to flesh out ideas with fellow commentators.

  • Noogan

Well, it’s EZRA Klein, not “Azra” Klein.

    I’ve read Ezra Klein’s response, and it’s W_E_A_K.

I normally always read Ezra Klein and I am not partisan for either ideological side, so I do respect Ezra’s point of view on many issues. But unfortunately, Ezra was tempted by the God of Ideology and was sucked into the madness of partisanship.

Tucker Carlson is right about Journo-List and Ezra is defensive, and wrong. He never should have set it up; and he never should have allowed the agenda to become so unethical.

No journalist with any integrity would participate in such lists. It’s unethical.

And, Keith Olbermann is a nasty, contemptuous, pompous asshole. Always has been. He should STOP SULLYING THE NAME OF ED MURROW BY STEALING MURROWS SIGNATURE LINE.

IT’s disgusting every time Olbermann says it. He should be fired just for that, it’s blatant plagiarism and pathetic to see such a bad journalist insult an icon of journalism.

If MSNBC has fired him, I will celebrate!

  • Nice Try

    Ferd,

Back to the personal insults again. Nice and very mature of you.

ACORN is a corrupt organization. But donjo to say they were “edited” is in itself, a lie. I wouldn’t check out a recipe for shit on Google. Are you that dense that you aren’t aware of the ties between Google and the WH? Wow, amazing, I thought you smarter than that. I guess I should read the government web site to see how many jobs “were saved or created” too huh?
