Oh, Dick…

Morris, that is.

Media Matters reports a segment Dick Morris did the other day comparing Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton.

Now, that would have been an interesting comparison, except that he used a false premise for his jumping off point. Oh, the false premise involved Hillary, not Sarah. Big surprise these days, I know, when everyone is concocting falsehood regarding Gov. Palin. No, this was kicking it old school, going back to rag on Hillary by twisting what happened in NH way back in January as a way to demean Hillary and promote Sarah.

Now, I am not one to attack Gov. Palin for no cause or based on flat out lies, rumor, or innuendo. But don’t use that same ploy with my Hillary, dammit!! (Along the lines of a comparison, Larry Johnson had a good one today, “Sarah Palin, Hillary Like, Not Hillary Lite.”

Just in case you don’t know who Dick Morris is, he used to work in the Clinton administration until 1996. It was at that time that his long-standing relationship with “call girl,” Sherry Rowlands, came out right before President Clinton gave his acceptance speech for the Democratic nomination. And I mean HOURS before. Oh, and he’s married, just in case you’re keeping score. He seems to have a bit of a personal vendetta against the Clintons – it just makes sense that he would blame THEM for his sordid affair, but hey – I guess that’s just Washington politics. Now that we are on the same page, this is what happened with Ol’ Dick on Fox News Monday, September 15, 2008:

Except that’s not what happened in NH, Morris, you windbag:

At no time, in any way, did she EVER complain about sexism during this moving, patriotic moment. (And honest to pete – tell the truth – did YOU get teary eyed watching and listening to her just now? I know I did. Oh, my – what an awesome opportunity the DNC and Superdelegates squandered…)

She COULD have, mind you. As many of us have said, and has been demonstrated up one side and down the other, there was not just sexism, but downright misogyny addressed to Senator Clinton, and all women. But that was not why she got emotional. She got emotional because she loves this country. She is a devoted, committed public servant, who fought HARD for us – for all 18,000,000 of us, Dick. Now this is, in no way, any kind of indictment against Gov. Palin. She just happened to be the tool by which the tool, Dick Morris, swatted at Sen. Clinton.

No, Senator Clinton barely said a word about the sexism in this campaign, and how she was targeted by the media. We wanted her to, but knew if she did, they would label it whining, complaining, dare I say, BITCHING about it. So, she let it roll off her shoulders, dealing with brutal assaults on her not just because she was a Clinton, but because she was a woman. And she had to let a lot roll. If, by some chance, you need a reminder, here’s a short one:

Uh, yeah. What the hell does SHE have to complain about, I ask you?!?! Ahem.

And then there is Barack Obama. Obama has STILL to be vetted because no one wanted to look like a racist for questioning his record (NEWSFLASH: to treat someone disparately because of the color of their skin, for good or ill, is racist). The articles are just POURING out claiming if Obama loses, it will be racism, pure and simple (Lisa B. just had an excellent article on this topic at No Quarter). That is preposterous -if he loses, it will be because of his incredible lack of experience, his shady associates, and his thin resume. To vote for him simply because of his skin color is racist, no doubt about it. He should be held to all the same standards as anyone else in his position. But no. I think we all know more about Governor Palin at this point than we do about Obama because SHE has been open about her life. Obama? Not so much. Still waiting on those records, Barack, still waiting…

Anywho – so Dick Morris continues to bash Clinton, but he also misses the point by so doing: Governor Palin may not have complained about sexist treatment by the media, but that does NOT mean she, like Hillary, has not been the recipient of it. In just a few weeks, the media, and so-called liberals, have already engaged in a great deal of sexism against her. Since I began with Media Matters, I will close with this video from them of talking heads at CNN after McCain announced Palin. So, Dick, the bottom line is that neither one of these women complained about sexism, though Clinton had to deal with about 23 more months of it than Palin has thus far. But make no mistake – she’s dealing with it, too. Which means all women are dealing with it (gee, can a woman have a family AND a job in the 21st century? It would sure seem not, judging by the reaction of Democrats and the MSM). Check it out:

And Governor Palin, just so you know – a lot of us may not agree with many of your policies, but we are damn sick and tired of people saying crap to women for being women, so we will speak up, and speak out. Oh, and Dick? Maybe you should stop speaking already.

Dick Morris is male privilege gone entirely berzerk.

    Go Hillary!!

    PUMA!!

  • politicsIsdirty

I have always thought that Hillary is the best person to put our economy on the right track.. hate Obama for making Bill Clinton a racist and the Democratic leadership for pushing the nomination of Obama.

I wish Hillary stay out of the Obama campaign and just concentrate on the City of New York. Obama doesn’t deserve her help. Hillary was totally disrespected by Obama.

  • politicsIsdirty

There is no doubt about it. There is a lot of sexism in the media and the female reports, pundits and commentators like Gloria Borges, Cambell Brown and Rachel Maddow are all complicit.

    New Video

Sorry – not trying to hijack this thread (going back to read it right now) but wanted to point out the new 527 ad on barky asking Iraq to keep our troops there until after the election.

Hard-hitting, strong, powerful accusations – the ad calls obama “Disgraceful” – “Not fit to be Commander-in-Chief” and says he’s “Playing politics with our men and women.”

It’s posted at Hillbuzz right now – for some reason it won’t let me post the link but just go to hillbuzz(dot)wordpress(dot)com.

I know I will be called a troll again, but I feel the need to add a little realism.

This thing is looking like it could snowball real quick …

Obama is out there mocking and riduculing and attacking McCain, and all McCain is doing is giving these bland stump speeches.

It is not all entirely McCains fault, the MSM is showing all Obamas best soundbites, and not going out of their way to flatter McCain.

All the more reason for McCain to do whatever it takes to switch the momentum around, and that is only going to happen if McCain starts firing some real bullets … Rezko, Ayers, Rev Wright etc.

Not too mention the republican 527′s need to break this silence …

I know the majority of people think that McCain should just keep the status quo, and save all the bullets for the very last minute, but I am telling you this thing is real close to getting out of control.

Just like Rush said yesterday … YOU HAVE GOT TO CRUSH YOUR OPPONET WHEN YOU HAVE HIM DOWN, NOT LET HIM GET BACK UP.

Well its already too late, Obama is back up and has a full head of steam, so McCain needs to do something to knock him back down again, and he cant count on any help from the media, so he needs to do it himself.

Also a final warning, and this is not being a concern troll. The state polls always lag behind the national polls, so these shifts to McCain in the state polls that have everyone so confident, are outdated. The shift in the national polls will show up in the state polls soon.

I’ve seen it, and it may or may not work, The media is in the taknk for obama, it’s as obvious as the nose on a person face. Much like they did with Hillary they are using suggestive, phrases to try and convince people she is inept. I’ve never had faith in people judgement, i’ve always know they are shallow, but MSM is starting to get on my nerve.

My BS-O-Meter goes off the dial whenever Dick Morris starts talking about Hillary Clinton. I’ve almost come to respect Fox news a little bit and then he comes on and I rethink that position.

I just want to say to. JM/SP ticket has pinned obama.
I am sure JM08 will be here in a few hours saying were doomed. The fact is they made the obama team ABANDON ship on the foundation of his campaign. They totally changed strategy and it is one doomed to fail mark my words. The swing group of folks in the middle and hillary voters want to hear someone who will fight for them and give them a coherent aproach to the matters at hand. Obama is running to his angry left base, not good. McCain officially has taken the High road and ripped the change mantle off of him. That was the strategy JM 08, IT WORKED!

  • http://deleted OBSP

I have thought for years that Dick Morris had a crush on Hillary and she rejected him. I have never heard a man talked about a women like Dick goes after Hillary without going through a nasty breakup.

  • Shiloh

Since the trend for 2 weeks has been toward McCain I don’t see how it is getting out of control. Seems to me it is on a very smooth and I hope well-planned trajectory. Months ago I was told to watch the end of Sept for some heavy stuff to come down on Obama. I admit I am also eager but not concerned. I’m sticking to my prediction that Obama will not get 100 electoral votes.

i think you articulate a most valid point… let’s see how it rolls…

  • Paul3triple

haahaha, i am listening to obama and he is just talking about mccain. It is funny because for twenty minutes he has not said ANYTHING about what he will do.
He thinks it is a mistake to cut taxes for businesse’s, corporate and small. He is the guy out of touch. If the market is melting and business is pinched you cut their taxes to loosen money up and creat opportunity. McCain is going to cut our corporate tax by ten percent. Our corporat tax is the 2nd highest on earth. That is fact.

also, i cannot believe what i just heard. Major Garret on fox said the obama campaign does not want to lay out any specifics because they think they can drive voters to the polls just by saying he is different.
I shit you not, the guy who cried all week to get back on issue has a crisis on his hands and says forget the issue lets just talk about the republicans.
He is losing it, laughing at his own jokes. I told you they baited him. Now he is not talking issues just mccain because he thinks the gallup poll means no one cares.
    HAHAHAHAAAAhHA.

Maybe I’m being optomistic but I get the feeling the Obama campaign right now is struggling with holding its base and not with bringing new voters in. I mean only a few weeks ago all we heard was talk about how Obama would turn red states blue. Now we see blue states becoming, at least, purple. Desperation always leads to blunders.

  • kgirl1028

It totally agree with you and i think that is what is pissing me off the most. we have all this amunition and guns but no one with the balls to shoot it. they need to let obama have it, and stop taking the “high road” everytime he even thinks about getting up hit him again. tell people michelle was campaign on september 11th, they should have also let him have it about mccain injuries. Truthfully these are the same games obama played with clinton, just on different subjects, Line his and the media’s attack on Palin and Hillary clinton, don’t expect the public to figure it out of themselves. If obama is going to imply that McCain has no honor, then mccain needs to try his best to vivisect obama, as my pastor use to say don’t tip toe in to hell, bust the gates wide open. Have fun while he does it, show for themselves how gibson, chopped up palins interview to make her look dumb.

  • Paul3triple

In 2005 Mac predicted Fannie and Freddie were going to be on shaky ground and McCain introduced a bill for regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Obama has taken more money from fannie and freddie than anyone but his ardent support supporter Chris Dodd who heads the commited F & F answer to.
McCain was ahead of the curve and obama was appointing Jim Johnson the guy who turned F & F upside down to find his VP.
And who is his VP? Credit Card Joey “big Mouth” Biden!
Obama is a corrupt leach. McCain wants a commision to investigate the crisis and Obama thinks that is a bad idea. I wonder why?
McCain/Palin regular american freedom fighting Mavericks.
They will seek and destroy the corruption and abuse.

  • Paul3triple

shiloh i agree. His speech was all red meat and no potatoes. That is a speech for the base.
The folks in the middle want to see a leader, not a guy blaming everyone with no idea or care what to do.

  • LookingForwardTo2012

Don’t worry….if they are holding their cards close to their vests, there’s a very good reason for it. I see this as a good sign. Republican campaigners are Sun Tze masters.

I will never fall in line. It’s Obama that is so wrong for us.It’s Obama who had MSNBC-CNN-dnc AND more in his hop pocket. They put so much on Hillary on her back. And to think by Obama saying “I will get Hillary’s supporters”With the last three primarys left.Hello Obama now we know what you meant.You-DNC HAD PALNS A ALL READY PLANNED PARTY FOR YOU TO CLAIM THE NOMINNEE AS YOU HAVE DONE SO MANY TIMES IN THE RACE AS MSNBC-CNN-DNC WENT ON DOING THIER LIES AND TRASHY HER.Well no.I was a Hilary supporters. It’s you Obama that I will not vote for no matter what!I wasn’t voting for you then and I am not now.No matter what.I am supporting and proud to say I am voting McCain/Palin 08. • JM08

    I agree KGIRL1028 …

The way the media is acting all the public is going to hear is how great Obama is. The only way to change that is for McCain to get so bold in his attacks that the MSM has to cover it.

Personally the unspoken rule that Obamas middle name is off limits should be ended.

Secondly how can McCain sit there and let Obama call him dishonorable, and at the same time talk about how he wont question Obamas patriotism.

The fact that McCain is not bringing up Ayers, Rezko, Rev Wright is political malpractice.

Really how can you be mad about the media not bringing that stuff out, when McCain wont breathe a word of it himself ?

  • Paul3triple

    JM08

you will never learn, I cannot explain the same thing everyday.
He only fell in one poll and staeyd the same in another.
He is leading in all the states he needs to and tightening in states that he should not be.
If you do not understand politics or the nature of polls it is useless to constantly explain.

Obama was ahead in the national polls almost the entire time from feb. on
How did clinton win all those big rust belt states JM 08.
A poll of a fraction of the electorate is not representitive of it. Obama always overpolls as proved throughout the primary.
either way your not showing realism your panicing at every poll every day. It is absurd. Campaigns are not about polls. Their about driving turnout up and getting volunteers and money.
The GOP has all of that.
Folks talk of obama’s infastructure but that is an area democrats always lack compared to republicans.
With a fiery base we can handily.

(Crain’s) — Responding to pleas from government reformers, Democratic presidential nominee U.S. Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday phoned Illinois Senate President Emil Jones Jr. and asked him to call the Senate back into session “at the earliest possible opportunity” to consider a major pending ethics bill.
But there was no immediate indication that Mr. Jones is willing to go along.

  • kgirl1028

No it won’t you can depend on normal politics to destroy obama, he’s like a vampire, the media helps him by sheilding information, they can’t fact check him when he lies, because half of the time they don’t know when he lies. Sarah Palins favor-ability is already starting to decline, obama’s polls are climbing. there is an element to obama’s campaign that is beyond ever day politics, obama has the ability to make people who you’ve known to be rational to be irrational. oprah is a multi billionaire and yet she jacks up her own tv show, by not telling a gracious lie. If she had said she would try to fit palin in and didn’t who would have cared, but instead she set her self up to be heckled by her largest audience middle class white women. And did you see how John McCain was treated on the view? I think Sherry was the only person who didn’t attack him. You’ve put a stake in obama, but you still need to chop off his head and burn the remains or he will be back, bigger and nastier than before.

    one more thing JM08.
there is 300 million poeple in america. Rasmussen has mac up one and they poll the most poeple(3000).
So that is 60 per state, if it is evenly balanced throughout the 50 states.
Is that representitive of the electorate nationally, do you really think?
Gallup poll 2700 so that is even less per state.
And gallup has margin of error of 2 which mean that mccain could be up 2 if the margin is true and in his favor.
Polls Schmolls. Get out and knock on some doors and make some calls soldier and quit yer belly aching. Man up.

As he had palyed while campaigning once a song” The bitch anit it” WTF was that. What does that tell people when he acts like that in on the campaign trail? What does and how he is showing really bad judement to the people. It’s like he has to really spit out hate by using songs as that.

We have children yound adults who we as parents what to teach our children respect. You really shown a disrespect of Hillary and for others. It isn’t a game,It’s about our country and to do this Obama is tottaly wrong!

I will never forget the DNC,MSNBC,MSN,CNN OBAMA CAMP of the terrible treatment they had palced on senator Clinton and Bill. The threats we got.May 31,08 convention-August 27.08 Deven secert calling of all delegatesThe chasing down delegates running after them calling them names when they said they would not support Obama. What the hell are they running in this election.I saw so much of the mistreatment that it made me sick for any election to be ranned this way.The democratic party really trashed their own party as they thrown Hillary supporters aside.I for one will never forget it.

George bush had more minorites on his cabnet than clinton, and yet Kanye West still called him racist. now weather I believe what Kanye west said is for a different story for a different time, my point is that McCan needs to get over being mean and obama’s race card. We’re doomed. The sky is falling. Quick–hide the children. The end is near.

Did I cover all the paranoia yet? :-)

The Democratic Party hasn’t won a Presidential election in this century. At the rate they’re going, their chances won’t improve until 2012.

Honestly, it is people like JM08 that keeps us motivated to stop Obama. Instead of sitting at the keyboard complaining or fretting, get off your ass and do something useful.

The Republican base is fired up.

Also, give the American people some credit JM08. After all, these pollsters are sampling a couple hundred or thousand people. They don’t all speak for us. When you poll all eligible Americans that are likely voters and not just a sampling, then we’ll talk. Until then, fight like hell until the last poll closes in America.

Thanks for trying Paul. It can be a little aggravating, but I’m just not used to losing Presidential elections and I don’t intend to start.

They are not going to do anything crazy right now. I think they are satisfied how things are going and going to wait until the debates. After all the McCain camp is not in this to win a popularity contest but the election. So if all the people in California and NY vote for Obama and he wins the popular vote by 50 million but looses OH,PA,VA,MI then it will not make any difference.

  • JM08

    Paul3Triple-

You never have any poll that samples a million people, they have always sampled a few thousand at most, and over the years most polls seem to get it in the ballpark.

Secondly I was just watching CNN and they just released state polls that had McCain losing Ohio, tied in Florida, and up by only one in NC …

You cannot ignore what is happening …

But paul3triple seriously, you tell me what you would advise mccain to do if you were running his campaign …

  • AF catfish

Agreed – I hope McCain runs another mocking Obama celebrity ad. The humor in those ads pierced through the back-and-forth cacophany, provided levity and made people laugh.

Like I said upthread, the hits on Palin have unfortunately, been effective. Her favorability rating is way down. And my mainstream, non-partisan friends believe Palin is “scary” religious, etc.

    Community Organizer In Chief

Election ’08: Barack Obama claims he worked for a “small group of churches” as a community organizer. In fact, he was hired by a radical Alinskyite group, and Saul Alinsky’s own son has outed him.
Buried last month in the Boston Globe’s letters to the editor was a three-paragraph letter congratulating Obama for putting on a great show at the Democratic National Convention.

That open-stadium rally in Denver, with it’s packed crowd and perfectly timed chanting of key phrases, “had all the elements of the perfectly organized event, Saul Alinsky-style,” opined the letter-writer. The reference was to the hard-boiled Chicago socialist and father of radical community organizing.

“Barack Obama’s training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness,” the author continued. “When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well.

“I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008,” the author said. “It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.”

dick certainl CDS but he has some of the best political insight on tv.
He is the guy afterall who ran Bill’s winning campaign along with others of course.

Yeah obama’s ad tying McCain to limbaugh is pretty ridiculous when limbaugh was the guy mccain was fighting to pass Immigration reform.

That is what is wrong with obama’s line of attack. It is al guilt by association. Ones that make no sense.
His bush mccain argument is stale and has not worked since hstarted using the lie 7 months ago.
Blaming McCain for the financial mess when he predicted Freddie and Fannie would fall 3 years ago and introduced legislation to reform it. While obama was raking in the 2nd largest amount of contributions from Fannie and freddie. his buddies the head of the committee F and F answer to Chris Dodd is number one.

Jim Johnson the guy obama hired as VP vetter was the one who got the ball of destruction rolling for fannie and freddie.
Oh and he picked credit card joe. Beholden to the banks. These guys are knee deep in ethical questions in regards to this mess. McCain will point that out to.
Not yet though. We are having crisis and McCain is not the partisan hack who blames everyuone.
He is the steady hand at the wheel. When the anxiety blows over a bit he will hit him. McCain wants the highroad and he has it.

He is probably waiting to let Obama continue to dig a hole with his inane comments about the current economic situation. Biden didn’t help today by blaming the Bush tax cuts (which Obama already said he may have to keep to boost the economy). They both want to avoid the real reason behind troubles in the market–housing finance. Obama is dirty on that one and doesn’t want to bring it up. McCain can take the high ground on that issue and is most likely letting Obama continue to push his reform rhetoric (which is based on his own mythology of himself, namely his memoirs) as well as continuing to say that McCain is trying to steal the message of change and that McCain is tied lobbyists and McCain is Bush and McCain is Gramm, etc.

This totally ignores the bill to reform housing finance that failed to pass congress:

    http://www.govtrack.us/congress/record.xpd?id=109-s20060525-16&bill=s109-190

As well as the evidence of efforts by Dodd, Kerry and Frank to block any reform back in 2003 (problem for Obama in this one=Franklin Raines):

I am a republican so maybe I am not as sensitive as you dems are to hillary bashing, I could give or take her in the past, but since she has started campaigning for BO, my opinion of her has lessened.

Not our call and most certainly none of our business as Republicans to tell Hillary or her supporters what she should or shouldn’t do. What Hillary does or doesn’t do most certainly doesn’t change the fact I’m not a supporter. However, I think she handled the primaries with a lot of class and grace.

Obama’s lucky she didn’t knock him on his ass when “endorsing” him in Unity, NH.

I know all you dems are saying she is just doing what she has to do because she is a dem, but lieberman put country ahead of party, so why cant hillary, afterall she should know better than anyone on the planet what a scumbag obama is …

The Democratic Party left Joe Lieberman behind the last time he ran for re-election in the Senate. To me, it was a no-brainer for him and obviously easier to put “country before party” because right beside his name it says “I” and not “D”. He’s now an Independent. He has courage, but let’s not get carried away.

I am not a troll! But although I think BO is an inept, inexperienced empty-suit, I know one thing about him, he has to win this election or his political career is over. He will do anything to win!

BO is not a Kerry, or Gore. He is a raving ego maniac that will stop at nothing to win.

    Don’t underestimate him.

He would smear God Him/Herself, if it meant winning!

the McCain/Palin TownHall is on. Go to the McCain website and click on events.

  • iVet

The website with the McCain speech from 2006 talking about the 2005 housing finance reform bill has been up and down for a while. I wonder if it is getting a bunch of hits. I wonder if it has anything to do with how many times I posted it at the BO website? I posted it without attribution, just the link and the text. Some posters seemed to think it cam from Obama, because they said things like ‘that is STRAIGHT TALK I can believe in, I am sending this to my Republican and undecided friends, maybe it will help convince them.’

I hope they do just that and then look it up. I would love to see their faces when they find out that it was not Obama’s idea.

  • JM08

Those are some interesting polls by ARG. A couple of the states seem to really defy all common sense though …

I find it hard to believe mccain is only up 4 in west virginia, but i find it equally hard to believe obama is up only 6 in Illinois.

  • kgirl1028

You seem to forget obama practice necromancy.

  • Jess Terr

But that was not why she got emotional. She got emotional because she loves this country.

In hindsight, and knowing now what we know about nObammy, one could gather that Hillary knew exactly who he was. She says, “This is about our country, …This is the most important election we have ever faced”.
Having had to learn about who nObammy is from my own research and from blogs like these, I am left wondering why Hillary didn’t call him out or at least tell US? Seeing her stump for him makes me nauseous. Or maybe its just him that makes me physically ill.

  • http://deleted OBSP

Remember, John McCain supported GWB in 2004 for party unity. Did your opinion change then? If Hillary has another chance, she has to do this. I hate it too, especially when I see lazy boy (oh racist) on the beach and she’s out stumping for him

  • iVet

One explanation for part of that is that a lot of people in Illinois know the real Senator Obama.

I do not believe you’re a troll. I’ve seen you post here for awhile. I myself have gotten frustrated with everything. I think we all have.

This was a great article Reverend, but I think also as you pointed out Dick Morris has had it bad for the Clintons for many years. Just let what he says go in one ear and out the other. He’s one of those that honestly believes he’s not being hypocritical, but the rest of us see what’s going on. That’s the conclusion I’ve come too, these people have to honestly believe they the things they’re saying. Or why is it they can’t see the hypocrisy in what they’re saying?

    OBSP-

I understand Hillary needs to campaign for Obama to keep her political hopes alive for 2012, but my point was that maybe Hillary could have put the United States of America ahead of her own political interests.

I think the word is called sacrafice.

Much like McCain did when he stayed asa POW 5 years longer than he needed to, because he did not think it would be fair to leave before others who had been there longer. McCain could not have been sure he would ever make it out of there alive after he turned down his captives offer of early release. That is putting COUNTRY FIRST.

I dont think you can even mention Hillary in the same breath as McCain. She is willing to let the country be ran by Obama, just because she is scared it might cost her a few votes in 2012.

  • sowsear

I thought BO declined yesterday. Did someone dare to put that into the MSM?

  • http://www.progressive.org/mag_reed0508 Beowulf

Dick Morris is a joke. He’s had an axe to grind against Bill Clinton, since Bill threw him under the bus for that sex scandal with a prostitute, with whom he had a long time “business relationship”. And he grinds his axe at every opportunity, no matter how trivial.

In the year 2000, Morris kept insisting that Hillary was NOT going to run for the US Senate in NY, but rather will just “take the money and run” (exact words, btw), where the funds he’s referring to is that which Hillary raised for her senate campaign.

No only do we see a bona fide FUCKING IDIOT, but one who constantly employs the worst loaded language.

P.S. By the way, Amy, please don’t employ blatantly sexist double entendres such as “Oh, Dick! ”. Frankly, I’m scared of big dicks:

Hey Obama troll, and you are an Obama troll, playing the let me be friends game, Saul Alinsky rule #45 of community organizing, here is the bare facts:

1-with all the supportive media plays for Obama, Obama should be ahead across the country in national and all state polls in big double didget number, but he is neck and neck with McCain, that is pathetic.

2-Morris is a jerk for Morris and enough said on that ignorant broadcaster

3-Hillary is a politician and a viable politician does the best to survive in order to work for the country, if the politician is worth a damn, which unlike your boss Obama who soley is a politician for his own self advancement and has proven over and over again that country means nothing to him, just what he can gain from it has any meaning!

So spew your Saul Alinsky crap someplace where ignorant peple or uneducated people blog like the grade 2 blogging sites!

  • Canadian

Something important for everyone to remember:

A vote can be interpreted as FOR a candidate, but more importantly as a vote AGAINST one.

As I read polls indicating the trustworthiness of either McCain or Obama, irrespective of their policy stances or their choice of VP, McCain is consistently ahead.

This would indicate that McCain’s numbers hold a greater proportion of anti-Obama choices as the predominant motive compared to Obama. Eg. today’s Oregon poll by Ras, stated that McCain’s vote was 66% for him, 30% against Obama. Obama’s vote was 79% for him, 19% against McCain. This is a significant difference in the anti-vote rate, clearly favoring McCain.

Irrespective of arguments, humans make choices led by their sentiments first, their reasoning second. Given the state of the economy, the anti-Obama vote this election will be large. This explains in part the departure from previous patterns of voting. Obama ultimatley can’t be trusted (by the majority of the electorate)and this will seal his fall. This also explains why the undecided vote in the primaries fell largely with Hillary, because when no one is watching, and you are alone, you will choose either the one you trust the most (a pro-vote) or not choose the one you trust the least (an anti-vote).

Its too late for Obama if he is waiting for humanity to change its stripes.

  • tek

You said it, you’re not a Democrat and therefore INCLINED to dislike Hillary because you’re conditioned by all the Republican hate-speak. We want Hillary in 2012, she has to appear loyal to the party even though it’s been taken over by pod people. Loyal Democrats understand that.

You start out saying you don’t really like Hillary, then say your opinion of her dropped. It’s not a logical argument. If you already have a low opinion of her, what difference how low it is?

    Hillary 2012!

  • http://www.progressive.org/mag_reed0508 Beowulf

    Mel,

You forgot point #4: This is supposed to be the worst year to be a Republican. The Democrat, any Democrat, should be ahead by 20% for this reason alone.

I can tell you that McCain DID bring up that Obama was #2 in donations from Fannie/Freddie out of 354 lawmakers. A JUNIOR senator, and he’s at #2? Chris Dodd, natually, was #1…So, McCain IS saying it.

Oh, regarding the MSM – I noticed yesterday that the blogs were going nuts saying Fox News had turned on McCain because Megyn WhateverHerLastName is gave Tucker BOunds, McCain’s spokesman, a hard time. I didn’t see ANY of them mention that Bill Hemmer got completely frustrated by Obama’s spokesman, Bill Burton. Hemmer was TRYING to ask him abt the 1982 ad and McCain not being ABLE to use a computer, and Burton just refused to answer him – he talked over Hemmer left and right, and Hemmer was taken aback. Burton’s performance no doubt lost some votes for Obama…

I agree with JM08. There are only 40 days left – start bringing out the TRUTH on Obama – NOW.

  • Ai1een

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve written FOX and asked them “How can you say you’re FAIR and BALANCED while at the same time employing Dick Morris?”

Karl Rove in his commentator role has the ability to step back and say the pro and cons of this campaign or that campaign – Geraldine Ferraro as well, but Dick Morris never once showed one thread of fairness or dignity toward Hillary Clinton. Not once. I don’t care if he friggin’ HATES her – if he is employed as a commentator, he should be able to step back and report on things fairly & equitably especially when his role was to REPRESENT the Democratic point of view.

He is one of my main beefs with FOX (& the fact that they only hire Barbie Doll look alikes for their female reporters (except for Greta) What, AVERAGE looking women can’t report the news?)

Morris was/is vicious, amoral, immoral and had no compunction about spreading lies and distorting events about Hillary on the campaign trail such as what Rev. Amy writes about here.

That one incident in New Hampshire; Hillary’s voice broke a little when that woman asked her how she did it every day. The next thing you know, they’re saying that she cried CROCODILE TEARS – then others said that SHE WASN’T CRYING ANY TEARS AT ALL, it was all fake to make people feel sorry for her. The next morning Jesse Jackson, Jr. said Hillary tears were racist. “Did she cry for the people of Katrina?” And now Morris is saying that Hillary was crying about the sexism?

He is the pig of which Obama spoke (wish I could photoshop a pic of him right now with beyond the boundaries lipstick smeared all over his mouth).

Thanks for the post – but now I’m angry again! lol

  • ame

DM holds a big grudge against the Clintons. It’s my understanding that they fired him during the Clinton administration.

  • Ai1een

I’m happy to see the Republicans fired up – I’m fired up too. Saying that one would like to see more attacks by McCain isn’t freaking out or pulling hair but, as Hillary supporters, we’ve seen what lies and censorship by the MSM will do to derail a campaign.

Frankly,NO candidate in the history of our nation has ever had journalists and media working to actually ensure that “their favorite candidate” get elected, therefore, unfortunately, this election isn’t comparable to any other whether one is used to winning or not.

As Hillary learned the hard way, what might seem logical to do in a NORMAL election won’t necessarily work in THIS election. With the MS media’s abundant resources to promote lies and half truths every 15 minutes on 24 hour cable news as well as their proclivity for censoring stories that should be out there – this election can change on a dime.

Yesterday, one of the pundits on FOX was saying that the more McCain attacks, the more Obama is thrown off “his game” and that McCain should be attacking more and harder. With just 40 days to go, with all the TRUTHS about Obama that have yet to be revealed, we’re just saying “bring it on” – or “bring it out” (lol!)

I was glad to see that McCain called Obama out about being the 2nd largest receiver of Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac funding. (Oh yeah – that’s what I’m talking about.)

  • Ai1een

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-oped0916byrnesep16,0,188873.story

This was the story in the Chicago Tribune yesterday – talking about Obama being a fraud when it came to promoting real reform.

“Throughout his political career, Barack Obama has fought for open and honest government,” proclaims his campaign Web site. Apparently, no longer. When the Democratic presidential candidate—now his party’s industrial-strength voice for our deliverance from political corruption everywhere—was asked by a reformer if he would help get his political mentor back home to get off the dime and move the most minimal of state ethics legislation toward passage, the Obama campaign sent word back that amounted to a “no.”

Good read – I wrote and thanked the author – rare to find someone who speaks truth these days.

  • Tristan

I do read Dick Morris’ column as well as anything by Karl Rove or Pat Buchanan. While I don’t agree with their politics, or would want any of them meeting my wife for lunch, their insights are often valuable.

For example, I thought Morris’s analysis of the two VP picks was excellent, i.e. that Obama used his incorrectly and weakened his “change” factor, and that McCain used his correctly and created a separation between himself and the Bush administration.

Yes, Morris definitely does have a vendetta against the Clintons – he wrote a book in 2005 that was essentially a rebuttal of Hillary Clinton’s book Living History. Yeah, this statement is probably a smear on Sen Clinton, and he hopes that people won’t have as sharp memories as we do.

BTW I have noticed that particularly in this election cycle plenty of commentators and candidates seem to underestimate my intelligence as a voter. I’ve been watching the race since last year and remember everything everyone said, including the original quotes, so when Obama says for example that McCain wants to be in Iraq for 100 years or thinks that $5m is middle class, I know he’s lying and it makes me think worse of Obama. And sure, this false reference to sexism makes me think less of Morris too. But not too much less because I know he’s a sleaze at his core.

Of course the real question is why does he hate the Clintons now. He would be nothing without them, and its his own fault that he self-destructed on the job.

  • cleffnote

If McCain wants to win he needs to campaign with Palin, that way they will have big excited crowds. By campaigning separately they are diluting the excitement. Just my opinion.

  • Psychic madwoman

I have been writing to Fox about Morris since the primaries. I can not believe that they allow the angry gnome to plug his book on all of their programs. He hates the Clintons because they let him go after he was photographed with a prostitute (poor woman).
