Prominent Clinton Backer Lynn Forester de Rothschild To Endorse McCain Today

Ooooooooooh. The rich and wise Lady de Rothschild!!! We Clinton supporters know how much this means. We revere Lynn Forester de Rothchild and she’s with us!

I would imagine though that CNN had some palpitations over this one. Even in their Obama stupor, they know what this message brings— More Clinton supporters voting for McCain.

From CNN Political Ticker blog:

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don’t like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

I just updated my Facebook profile and declared my support for McCain-Palin.

    Country First!

  • athena

    Woohoo!
Too bad Hillary withdrew from appearing in NY. That may not have beenthe samrtest move and I am quite frankly shocked.

  • Judy L. NC

I’m sorry, but, really….her calling BO an “elitist” tickles my funny bone. Pot, meet kettle.

  • Judy L. NC

    Heartiest Congratulations!

  • WMCB

Being an elitist has little to do with how much money one has.

Warren Buffet is not an elitist. I have known graduate students making very little money who were. It’s an attitude, not a spreadsheet.

  • Urban Hillbilly

You know it’s bad when someone, who splits time living between London and NY, calls you elitist!!!

  • athena

Elitism is an attitude as much as it is based on financial status. Obama is an elitist because of his views and attitude towards the small town, gun clinging, bible thumping, zenophobes. Lynn is just rich……

  • WMCB

Go, Lynn! She doesn’t trust him. Neither do I.

This is one of the best videos I’ve seen pointing out the jello-ness of the shifty Obama, and mirrors my feelings pretty well.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16aBNduAyQ4

  • vdavisson

This is great news. I am so happy to see Democrats and Republicans uniting in support of our country. It’s awesome! I wish Hillary would reconsider and join Sarah Palin at the UN protest. It would look very good for her.

  • HC

Obamagirls rejoice as Glamour Mag endorses Obama:

    http://www.glamour.com/magazine/2008/08/whos-your-guy?printable=true

  • hedy

As a Hillary supporter I too felt like Lynn. Never liked him and never will and I am happy that someone in her position had the nerve to stand up to the DNC. McCain/Palin 08.

  • athena

    exactly!

  • Jackarooty

She must be a racist of course.

Hillary was right to back out of the U.N. Iran protest. I applaud her continued efforts to avoid any sense of confrontation that would feed into the MSM desire for a catfight with Palin that they are so desperately trying to create. Stay above the fray HRC!

  • Skiron

Yeah. It’s a little something I like to call “hypocrisy”.

  • athena

    Nope – Its called perspective.

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Well, if anyone would know about hypocrisy, it would be an Obama supporter.

  • DirOfTheObv

    Good On Her!!

  • JP

you can be poor and still be an elitist. it does not take money to have your nose up in the air.

  • DancingOpossum

This is the second major Clinton donor to switch to McCain. The other, can’t recall his name–Greta Susteren’s husband. Anyway, no, it’s not looking good!

Which reminds me: Be sure to support your downticket Democrats, because the Obama campaign has told them it doesn’t have the $$ to help downticket races (another campaign promise violated, who is surprised?!). We need a majority Dem congress to keep McCain’s worst impulses in check.

  • Annie

Time for Hillary to back down from supporting Barack/Barry Soetoro. She should not have come out from the UN Protest – New York State is her state and it would show that she is for America not just for politics if she had not backed down – Sarah Palin is an American too.

Disappointed in Hillary for this and wonder what she thinks of one of her major supporters jumping ship… Great news. And the fact that Lynn Forrester deR did so makes one realize that Europe isn’t in the pocket of Obama at all – no matter what his minions say.

  • roseeriter

Obamacrats are the MOST ELITE Hypocrits of all time. Period!

Some of us Hillary Supporters GET THAT! And see Obama as the worse political candidate for POTUS
    EVER!!

    Skironbotulist!

  • destardi

    DING DING DING.

Can we please plaster this everywhere?

I love how CNN included the part where this woman “spends her time between London and blah blah blah”.

    CNN sucks.

  • tillthen

I woke up this morning feeling blue from having gone to my computer first thing to see a photo of that snake getting into his SUV at the Streisand affair. Yechhh!

I have just now returned home from my morning joe at the local coffee shop and I always check NQ first thing. I can’t tell you how much this post and this woman gladdened and warmed my 72 year old heart. I am an unhappy Republican, but should the Dem Party shake out the trash after this election, I am willing to listen, but Pelosi, Reid and Dean must go.

Thank you, Madam Forester de Rothchild.

  • Urban Hillbilly

Listening to the way Obama talks about small town midwesterners leaves NO doubt about his elitism.

Apparently, Lynn Forester de Rothschild is a good listener.

  • DancingOpossum

Time for Hillary to back down from supporting Barack/Barry Soetoro.

Wrong. Her continued show of support and loyalty is what will allow her to emerge triumphant as the “I Told You So” candidate in 2012, when the party will have to kiss her butt to beg her to save it after this debacle. Being the picture of graciousness allows her to step in and accept the greatness the DNC will be forced to hand her.

If she acts angry now she will be seen as a bitter loser and has-been. Never forget that Hillary holds her aces close and sees the big picture several steps ahead of everyone else.

  • Skiron

A multi-millionaire married to someone named Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, calling someone who is still paying off his student loans an elitist?? Just doesn’t get any funnier than that. Even in her picture, she looks like the epitome of a stuck-up, wealthy socialite.

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

What really cracks me up is? He’s so stuck up but yet has the manners of a pig. Manners and class are free. My Oma was poor as a church mouse, but was a lady in everyway.

  • NoTrollZone

I think this has Obama’s fingerprints on it.
He can’t take a stand on anything. Doesn’t want to piss off Iran, muslims, jews, norwegians, scabbies,
fire hydrants, telephone polls, stars in the sky, microboes. Bet he told her you can’t go.
Bet Hillary is about ready to jump ship.

  • PewL

imo Just a matter of time, there will be jumping over to Mccain/Palin.. Maybe there waiting for some more skeletons to come out about about Obama…Maybe a week before the election…Can’t happen soon enough for me anyway..

    Mccain/Palin

I was in a Dairy Queen in Omaha NE a number of years ago with a cousin who lives there. When we walked in Warren Buffet was sitting and eating an ice cream cone and chatting with people. He seemed like a very average guy, My cousin said he lives in a very unassuming house and when he got in his car to leave, it was like all the other cars in the lot. No fancy car or driver for him.

    You’re just pi$$ed that she didn’t attend 0blivion’s $28k a plate fundraiser yesterday -

As we all know, that’s where the downtrodden and regular folks live.

  • http://mccaindemocrats.wordpress.com/ 30yrdem-not any more

You guys are right…I used to know a couple…no I won’t go into a long story but having money has nothing to do with being an elitist.

I saw this announced on Fox and had to smile, still smiling…

    About Hill not going…

They said she was protecting her base, Juan said that, said she won’t go up against Palin because it would hurt her with her base and if she runs in 2012 she needs it…

I don’t know…did she put her base before country? She is well known…she should speak there and not worry about rep/dem crap…

I think it was John(?) who said here yesterday that the press was wanting a cat fight between Hillary and Sarah…He is right…even FOX is trying to spin every release into something saying it is a dig on Clinton or Palin.
    Sad…

  • NoTrollZone

I’ve been of your viewpoint for the majority of the time. But comes a point where you can no longer clench you teeth and tow the party line.

I’m just guessing that she is being pushed way beyond the limits of human reason.

If she were to tell Obama to f off I would be so pleased.

However, if she can wait it out and wait for
Titanic Obama to sink, she has my backing in 2012.

Either way, I’m for her. But I’d love to see Barry get punched in the nose.

That was truly awesome. Thanks for posting it here. Tweety can get a thrill. That gave me good, old fashioned goose bumps.

  • Creature of Chicago

he also seems to have forgotten 0blivion’s base: multi-millionaire Hollywood windbags.

  • lark

Yes, Annie, I agree. Hillary does not represent herself. She took an oath and she represents the people of State of New York and a Senator the people of the U.S.A. If she accepted the invitation, it is awkward to renege just because Gov. Palin is showing up.

The idea was to protest Ahmadinejad visit to New York.

Hillary ended up protesting Gov. Palin visit to the U.N. Totally obtuse. Sorry but it looks pretty bad for Hillary.

  • Teddy

In my “small” town am going to the Repub party headquarters to suggest we combine Repubs, Dems for McCain and Hispanic Dems for McCain into one force. We’re outnumbered by Bots 6-1, but this should send a chill up their spine.

  • A Random Democrat

Hooray! Another Clinton supporter betraying all the values she stands for and has fought for by endorsing the guy who is AGAINST everything she is FOR and FOR everything she is AGAINST! What a victory indeed!

  • WMCB

Hillary is not going, because the press is salivating for a cat fight, and she refuses to give them one.

That UN protest would be completely overshadowed by the Clinton vs. Palin narrative if she went. That is ALL the press would talk about if she went, rather than talking about the issue at hand. Hillary is right on this – the protest is too important to let it become about her. She is a class act.

  • WMCB

*sniiiiifffff* Ah, I love it when I can smell the fear!

  • JimDawg

There are many more like her in the closet. Just wait until Nov. 4 and it will be clear that he wasn’t trusted by the majority, no matter the party affiliation. Thank God for Americans……

Has lived in that same house for many many many years… Just hate it that he is friends with George Soros.

  • beebop

I think that HRC feels that she was blind sided with the invitation to Palin. I kind of feel like she was, too. It takes on a different appearance since Sarah is the VP candidate. She has to be very careful since she is being judged on the “sincerity” level of her zeromama support. No one here knows what it is like being Hillary right now.

    here it is:

    gerard –

Want a look inside our strategy to win the battleground states?

I recorded a video on my laptop yesterday to brief you on the plan — including details that haven’t been shared publicly before.

Our fight in the battleground states is going to be tougher than a lot of you may think. Take Florida, where George Bush won by just 381,000 votes in 2004. The campaign we’re running there is going to cost more than $39 million.

That can only come from supporters like you — unlike John McCain, we don’t take money from Washington lobbyists or special interest PACs.

To reach our goal, we need 50,000 new donors by Friday at midnight.

And if you make your first online donation today, your gift will go twice as far. A previous donor has promised to match every dollar you donate.

ahha ahahah ahha h ah aa

What fear? I am a white, upper middle class, straight, male. Whoever wins, relatively little will change for me personally. As someone that supported and voted for Clinton in my states primary, I would just like to see her so called supporters actually continue the fight, the fight she is still waging, for the issues that she believes in. Whether you like him or not. Whether you trust him or not. Obama is the one most inline with Clintons politics. It is a betrayal of everything she fought for and believes in to support McCain.

He said McCain and Clinton did not have the judgement to lead because they voted for Iraq. SO DID BIDEN!!! Does that now mean obama does not have the judgement? What about obama playing politics with our troops in Iraq? A real democrat would abandon this clown, like most of us here did.

Biden hires lobbyist to advise Senate run
    http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-09-16-biden-lobbyist_N.htm

WASHINGTON — As Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama targets his Republican rival Sen. John McCain for hiring former lobbyists to work on his campaign, a key member of Obama’s campaign is paying a Washington lobbyist for legal advice: his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden.

Lobbyist William Oldaker continues to represent the Delaware Democrat in his simultaneous bid for Senate re-election, serving as legal counsel just as he has for Biden’s campaigns for the past 25 years.

Oldaker is an election law attorney and partners with Biden’s son Hunter at the Washington firm, Oldaker, Biden & Belair. He is also an appropriations lobbyist who represents lawyers, American Indians, and educational and health care institutions and who drew fire in 2005 for serving on numerous fundraising committees that donate to the lawmakers he lobbies.

Connections to lobbyists have been a hot-button campaign issue, with McCain and Obama both pledging to fight the influence of special interests in the White House.

Obama’s campaign launched a multimedia assault on McCain last weekend, with two television advertisements, a new website, http://www.mclobbyist.com, and a Web video highlighting the seven former lobbyists who serve as McCain’s top advisers.

a funny one in return — Barbra Streisand’s stepson talks about his experience with her:

JOSH Brolin has a complicated family – and complicated feelings about them.[snip] ” As for his stepmother, Barbra Streisand, Josh claims the best time he ever had with her was while she was drugged. Josh went to see his father and the diva in the hospital after they’d both had colonoscopies. He told W, “It was genius, man. I had this great conversation with them because they were both coming off the morphine or whatever cocktail they were given. It was good to see her without a few filters.”

I know that one candidate is telling his “friends” not to talk to the media. I know that one candidate is not releasing his medical records. I know that one candidate is not releasing any college or state senate records. I know that one candidate is passing off fiction as personal biography. Anyone who suppresses the truth about himself has no value for the truth being told.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. They are not entitled to their own FACTS.

  • WMCB

Obama’s record on that is no better than either McCain or Palin, and based on how he has run his campaign, likely worse.

Obama is not “generic Democrat”, and McCain is not “generic Republican”. Judging them as individuals, side by side, McCain is a better choice.

  • JP

If Obama does not stand for anything democratic what is there to support as a democrat? He uses the democratic platform, yet he does not support the democratic ideas and values. That is a very definition of a political opportunist. He flip-flops on issues depending on his audience and location. He has been caught lying and he smiles to your face and says it is your fault, you misunderstood his answer.

I do not trust the man. I do not know who he is and what he stands for. His words mean nothing to me. Not anymore. And I did try.

oh, and also why is the media still peddling the garbage he does not take lobbyist money and his donations are under 100 dollars?
Axelrod runs a firm that lobbys and several poeple in his campaign are or were lobbyists.
Also, Obama has had alot of these 28,ooo a plate dinners. Not so small a donation to me.

One thing to look at when reading polls is the number of undecided’s is higher than any recent election. Those undecided’s i doubt are really undecided. They are mccain voters. Probably older folks who do not feel comfortable sharing that info.

Obama is toast. Mccain has him right where he wants him. If polls in blue states keep tightening obama is finished. If he has to start doing rallys in NY or NJ to consolidate his base it is over.
He spent 2 days straight in colorado this week.
After holding his convention there you would think the greek spectacle would have locked it up.
Another thing, since obama did not accept public financing like he pledged to he is going to have to spend alot of time at fundraisers to stay competitve. That is bad news. Especially when mccain and the RNC already have over 200 million on hand. While obama and the dnc have less than 90

  • Firefly

I totally agree that that’s why Hillary backed out – she knows better than anyone how sexist, infantile and foolish the media are. I applaud her for taking their rabid feeding frenzy away from them.

Elitism is all about thinking the world revolves around you and that by birth right you are smarter, better and and more qualified to be alive than anyone else in the world. All of you panning Lynn De Rothschild – she married into that pot of money. She was a successful businesswoman before that and did it on her own. Self-made woman marries well. She knows what it is to work and run a business and have people depend on you for their paycheck. Lots of smart guys and gals marry up – doesn’t mean they forget their roots. An elitist can be dirt poor (Obama wasn’t) before they get that Ivy League degree. What makes them elitist is their attitude – like suggesting that the $600 stimulus was not much and would not go far, but at enough for for a pair of earrings (Michelle Obama’s comments), or calling folks in PA “bitter” behind their backs because of their religion (Obama, we thought you were such a religious guy! – you mean it was all fake?) and “guns,” etc.

It’s an attitude that you know what’s best for the plebes, that you deserve to ride around in your private jet, live in an energy-wasting mansion, make big bucks as a hospital VP or hawking your fake life story, and then tell the “bitter rubes” to turn down the heat, ride their bicycles, and seek employment in the service sector, serving their country for low wages.

  • mimi

Yes, it would be about Hillary vs Palin. Did you see that skit on SNL? Why give them more material? And the press would be no help. Just more negative spin.

But I don’t think backing out was necessarily Hillary’s idea. I really think Barry doesn’t want the 2 women to be in the press more than him. And face it, that’s what would happen. This would be in the press for days. He and and McCain would be lucky to get a sound bite in.

And worse, the whole point of the protest would be overshadowed.

  • No Obama for me

    Loveharriet,

Fox News is not in the tank for Obama, I have read many of Karl Rove’s pieces that are definitely against Obama. I have noticed recently a hardening against and speaking out against Obama by Fox
Bill O’Reilly is a different story, that guy is hard to figure out who or what he is for, sometimes he comes out strong against what Obama stands for and other times he seems to just luvvvvvvvvv him.
Karl Rove definitely is in no way in the tank for Obama.
Alan Colmes, that stupid man is in the tank for Obama though but I think most of the others are dead set against Obama.
    Kudos goes to Lynn Forester!!!

AH! So McCains record of voting against equal pay, continued support for long term military presence in Iraq, desire to engage in conflict with Iran, support of the Arizona gay marriage ban, and stated belief that Roe V Wade should be overturned, put him in line with Clintons politics?

I think something is going on, Hillary is the NY Senator, if obama did not want her to go to the rally or is it the media craze? but for someone like Lynn R to set a press release to announce her support for McCain-Palin What did obamas team do to cause this to happen.? Here at No Quarter they allow even fool trolls like you to exercise your First Ammendment rights.

    But as the saying goes:

    No fools, no fun!

And how do you judge Barbra Streisand who made all her millions because she sings pretty?

BTW she has as many, if not more, houses than Senator McCain.

I remember reading an article about her which described a plot of land she bought. She built four houses on that parcel, each decorated in a different style. God forbid she should get bored by one theme of decor.

And Oprah’s gold-plated toilet seat, well we won’t even go there.

(In case you didn’t know, they both support 0blivion, the man of the peeps.)

Well for those interested you will be unable to access my wordpress blog. Why? Well two days ago I made a utube video saying I would have a online fundraiser on my blog via my act blue link for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. And at 11:50 the next day, every blog post I have ever made and every comment was erased.

This is not the type of country I want to live in. Where individuals who do not hold the same opinion as the establishment or political party are targeted. Do people want 4 years of this? Individuals who would attack me, when there are millions out there more important than I am who ALSO do not support Senator Obama.

If these people cross the line during an election what would they do in charge of our country. Senator Obama inspires things in his supporters and surrogates that is ugly and does not represent the values of the average american. I am tired of spending my hard earned goddamn money on blogs just to have some internet thug come along and attack it.

The thought of this fraud in a position of power literally makes me sick. I have never done anything to anyone other than Susan & Larry allowing me to post the occasional blog post or the show on thursday. Senator Obama does not represent the type of change we need and I pray when John Mccain and Palin take office that someone investigates all the illegal activity that the democratic party seems to think is ok as long as they get there historical black candidate in the white house.

These people have crossed the line time and time again while the Dems turn there head and look the other way. If they gave a shit about this country and its people they would attempt to look at that campaign closely. I think if I can die overseas for my country, at least the Obama surrogates could allow me to have some damn peace by leaving my shit alone. So for all of those who dont agree with the majority, be on the lookout or you can end up blogless like me because a person from Chicago Illinois deemed it necessary to attempt to silence me by hacking my blog: Courtesy of Sitemeter:

Bill is playing some kind of game….he ran the piece about Gibson and said it was fair….read a e-mail from someone saying it was edited and he ask for them to send him proof…come on…we all knew it was edited and he does too….it is a game I am telling ya…he does this I think so he can expose things in a later show and still look friendly to Obama…ratings? maybe, who knows how his mind works.

  • Jackie

He is not still paying his student loans.
The only “loans” on his financial disclosure was his house.

Not to mention the 4 million doallar pay out for his book.

  • beebop

since obama did not accept public financing like he pledged to he is going to have to spend alot of time at fundraisers to stay competitve. That is bad news.

That’s the real story right there my friend. Last night he didn’t persuade ONE VOTER. All he did was make payroll. Period. Instead, he could have been at three different rallies. Trying to get his message across. Every time he has to go off the campaign trail and someone else has to go, he loses another opportunity. His bad judgment and arrogance is his undoing.

I read that when he said “no dough” to Harry Reid, he said they they could use his name, Biden’s name or his wife’s name …. they can use MICHELLE’S NAME? Yeah. She’ll raise them so dollars, don’t you think? hahahahahahahahahah he must be doing the bong again.

  • Paul3triple

Obama no doubt begged and threatened Hillary not to go. A front page article of the 2 women shaking hands would have been a goldmine with McCain and Bill the next day.
At first i thought hillary canceled on her own. Now, i doubt that. Seeing these 2 together would be pwerful for Jewish voters. Her canceling helps palin as well though in just as many ways as if she went.

Also, there would be no catfight there. whether the MSM wants one or not, this is a Bi-partisan event.

  • A Random Democrat

A minion? Interesting. People on this site accuse Obama supporters of being mindless drones, “Obamabots” is a popular term. They are accused of buying into the cult of personality and not being about the substance, the issues. They claim that it was different for Hillary supporters, because it wasn’t just about her, but about the issues she stood for. yet you accuse me of being a minion, of wanting her to be a minion, because I choose to stand by those values, even though my first choice wasn’t picked as the nominee. How is abandoning those values and running to McCain in protest anything but also buying into that cult of personality, only your god is Hillary?

This may be the silver lining to the dark fog of nObambi– we, both Dems and Pubs, are finally talking respectfully, and are beginning to heal that bitter chasm from the last 3 elections. America is not the radical fringes of either party, but rather the more moderate spectrum of dems and pubs. America First, a policy we both believe in.
    YES WE CAN!

  • http://chriss chris

This actually puts a jab into OB’s campaign. He looks bad for possibly forcing her hand on this. And he really looks bad in the eyes of the jewish voters. Not very smart. The Clinton’s pulled off a major deal here. She looks like she is supporting him at his request and she doesn’t really take a hit. Everyone knows her stand on Iran and it’s slimy leader. This will be interesting to see them try to spin this. Personally, I think she should have still participated but at a different time during the rally. Maybe Hillary at the beginning and Sarah at the end or something. Palin has been very generous in her praise of Hillary so far. I think this could have been a great opportunity to see them both at their best. Too bad for all of us.

  • Palin4Prez

    Random Democrat,

Obama is a radical left wing marxist with corrupt friends,Tony Rezco and family Odinga, crazy preachers such as Wright, Meeks and Pfleger,
terrorist friends such as Ayers and Dohrn. He lies about taking money from big corporations such as Lehman and AIG plus he has received the 2nd highest amount of anyone in the senate from
    Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
How can you vote for a corrupt, terrible man with a baboon wife. Democrat or no Democrat,
John McCain is honest and we know what he is about. I dearly love Sarah Palin, She is hardworking and down to earth plus beautiful and caring.
I used to be a Democrat but now I am an American like Lynn Forester who wants the best for my family and my Country.
You had better do the same or you will forever be sorry if that sorry sack of shit Obama is elected president of the United States of America.

For those who missed it, Hillary’s interview with Diane Sawyers can be viewed at Hillary’s website. http://www.hillaryclinton.com Hillary looks different like she saw a ghost. But she had on a beautiful green suit. She always sounds good. Man, I still love her.

Way to go Lynn! Class act. As far as Hillary not appearing at U.N., I’m kinda disappointed, so what if the press is expecting a cat fight, if you shake hands and exit, what’s to say? It would be refreshing to see a politician buck the press and the system by actually doing something that is controversial but right. Speaking at this event is more important than the press or Barky, but I guess caving into pressure is the new “cool” in the political arena.

After the 180′s on Telco Immunity, Public Financing, and the Iraq war I fully expect him to kill off a woman’s right to choose and any rights for homosexuals. The primaries were about the issues. We fought over the issues in the primaries. Obots didn’t care then. Why on Earth would they care now? We asked, I asked, about issues in the primary. I tried to point out how Obama keeps stealing “issues” from the Edwards’ platform and from the Clinton platform. I tried to point out how Obama does not have ACTIONS behind his words, how he cannot show what he believes in, instead he tries to hide his past. I TRIED IN THE PRIMARY!!!!!!

Now it is too late. Of course the Republican platform is different from the Democratic! DUH! If Obama had been running on the Democratic platform in the primaries, it would be easier to make the jump now in the GE. But because he DIDN’T if feels like political PANDERING. Whatever. The current Dem congress has a bunch of self-serving fools who have bankrupted the committees and funds that they oversee while filling their own pockets. Do you still want them? Before they took over Congress we were doing okay financially. But since they took control in 2006, the country is tanking. Hillary could have made a difference but they kicked her to the curb as we all know. It makes me wonder if they want to create two classes, rich and poor. I think they have set us up for failure in order to install their own facist agenda. This is all suspect. After all, Obacommunist said to that 7 year old that the country will never be the same when he gets into office. That should raise many eyebrows.

I guess you missed the part about how the msm let Michelle 0bama misquote Bill Clinton and helped spin her misquote into a racist remark which labeled him racist. And then the msm waited days to correct it and when they did, they did it in a very quiet and half-hearted way.

The press is out-of-control. You think “reporters” wouldn’t be yelling all sorts of provocative and stupid questions at them? It would be a circus that would upstage the point of the protest.

And I agree with the person above that this works in Palin’s favor,(as long as she stays on message). And since I want 0bama defeated, Hillary has to stay on a back-burner until a later date.

    OT but Breaking news!
There is a new book out about Obama.
Read it from a Black American’s perspective.
‘Obama – Why Black America Should Have Doubts’ is thoughtful, bold and refreshing.”

“Dr. King challenged us to judge a man not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. William Owens, Jr. is a rare Black American willing to hold Barack Obama to that necessary standard.”
~Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Author of “SCAM: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America”; Founder and President of BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny

“For those who suggest that Barack Obama advances the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, I say look again. His politics are anathema to the dream!”
~ Dr. Alveda King (Niece to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.)
This new book is written by William Owens Jr. who confesses,
“I recognize that I could be branded for the rest of my life for taking an unpopular stand against the first Black American to run for President of the United States. Nevertheless, I willingly accept the mantle that has fallen on me, and I am at peace with my decision because I must speak out.”
“Through the writing of this book, my family and I are attempting to speak directly to Black American families. However, let it also be a clarion to all Americans.”
Obama: Why Black America Should Have Doubts.
Author William Owens, Jr. uniquely addresses the devastating “mindset” of Black America, which is to abdicate their core principles and beliefs for the addictive “feel good” words of a politician. And, polls are proving this out.

According to one Gallup Poll, an explosive 91 percent of Black Americans support Obama.

Owens argues that electing Obama as president will not only radically impact our society – in terms culture, traditions, and beliefs – and weaken our national security, but he will also set back Black America for decades to come

If Obama can’t close the deal with the $400 or $500 million that he’s already gotten over the course of his campaign, I question how he’s managing his money. He keeps asking for more and keeps tanking in the polls. I don’t think money can save him. I would be skeptical to give him more money. AND during this economic crisis, he continues to ask for millions more!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just doesn’t make sense.

He pays only when he needs to pay for “appearances” sake. He paid his pantload of Chicago parking tickets only when he began his campaign, because only “suckers” get the “Denver Boot” for unpaid tickets, not the darlings of the Daley Combine. He just didn’t want the media taking cheap shots at him over parking tickets before they (the tickets and the media) were fully paid off. That may have been why he needed to purchase those few extra feet of the side lot from Rezko, so that he would have a place on “private property” to park his car, and would not need to park on the street where the car could be booted. In Chicago, Daley wants to reduce the threshold for booting eligibility to two unpaid tickets because you just can’t beat that revenue stream from booting and towing cars for any number of assorted violations, except maybe with dozens of those “red light cameras.”

  • McHope

This information needs to be given to EVERY single voter in this country!

  • athena

    yep

David Axelrod is called the “Master of Astroturfing.” Astroturfing is the dishonest PR technique of inserting PR messages straight from the PR shop out into the public, but in the guise of “concerns” of “real citizens” who are “independent” and have “no relationship” whatsoever to the PR campaign.

It tries to disguise itself as a “grassroots” phenomenon — but it’s artificial and inorganic. Hence, “Astroturf.”

And David Axelrod is notorious for making extensive use of this controversial tactic — and was notorious for it even before he begain running Barack Obama’s campaign.

Axelrod is working his astroturf magic by seeding comments throughout the internet containing his talking points. His new technique is to have the pro-Obama, anti-McCain/Palin talking points coming, supposedly, from “Christians” or “lifelong Republicans.”

It’s not just the internet of course. Letters to the editor from concerned conservative Christians are being printed too. From Best of the Web:

The Lebanon (N.H.) Daily News carries a letter to the editor from Christopher Tarsa, who makes the case for crossing party lines to support Barack Obama:

As a Republican and strong McCain supporter in 2000, I was disappointed and saddened in 2004 when McCain permanently traded in his maverick credentials and sold out his principles to support George W. Bush. I now find it equally disturbing to see him gamble our security and future with a reckless choice for a running mate.

Gov. Sarah Palin clearly has a bright future in politics. She may even have the depth and diversity of experience to be a vice-presidential candidate four years from now.

The McCain ticket, with all of its newfound “freshness” and despite all of the claims, has quickly devolved into the politics-as-usual that we have come to expect in the last eight years. McCain and Palin quickly emerged from the rhetoric of their convention as the uniters of dividers.

I talk politics with a lot of people from all walks of life. I find it compelling that many of the ordinary Republicans I talk to understand that their families cannot afford another four years like the last eight. We all deserve better.

But the paper appends a tagline that rather undercuts Tarsa’s claim to speak “as a Republican”: Tarsa is chairman of the Lebanon County Democratic Committee.” Apparently party lines run right through Christopher Tarsa.

I’m surprised the paper noted this big McCain supporter’s actual party affiiation.

But note the letter follows the pattern of the classic Astroturf sockpuppet:

    1) Claim to be either a Christian, a Republican, or a former McCain backer.

    2) Claim to have a basic emotional affinity for McCain, Palin, or Republicanism (“Gov. Sarah Palin clearly has a bright future in politics”) and say some weakly “supportive” things in order to convince people you “think like them” and are basically “on their side” before you…

    3) Push all the Obama HQ-approved talking points against the ticket, often expressing smears against McCain or Palin that you’re merely “concerned” will begin to weight down the ticket when the “story begins to break.”

I like that last tactic — see, they’re not pushing these unsourced, unverified claims on you. They’re not asserting they’re true or anything. They’re just worried that when the “story gets out” it will hurt the ticket. They’re just “raising questions” that they, as Concerned Conservative Christians, are conservatively Christianishly concerned by.

Robert, down the page (in the Jesus Was a PR Flack post), is very concerned, for example, that McCain is not really pro-life and that he’s lying about it. He’s worried McCain will make his real pro-choice politics explicit. And he frets that this will then harm McCain’s standing with Concerned Christian Conservatives such as himself.

It’s transparent, it’s absurd, it’s blatantly dishonest, it’s scandalous in its contempt for fair play, nevermind the contempt shown for the intelligence of the American voter, and, most important of all, it’s a big juicy story about shabbily dishonest political skullduggery the MSM should be covering but of course will not.

Lynn Forester de Rothschild, Member of DNC Platform Committee, Endorses John McCain

ARLINGTON, VA — Today the McCain-Palin campaign announced the endorsement of Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee.

“In an election as important at this, we must choose the candidate who has a proven record of bipartisanship and reforming government, and that’s John McCain,” Rothschild said. “We can’t afford a president who lacks experience and judgment and has never crossed party lines to work for meaningful reform. Amid tough economic times and foreign policy concerns, we need someone who is ready to lead. Although I am a Democrat, I recognize that it’s more important to put country ahead of party and that’s why I support John McCain.”

Rothschild, an attorney and businesswoman, supported Sen. Clinton during the Democratic primaries. She will campaign for Sen. McCain through Election Day.

Here’s what Newt Gingrich says: (quoting Repubs now is getting to be the norm)

When Did It Become Wrong For Our Leaders to Pray For Our Troops?
If you missed the interview Charlie Gibson had with Governor Palin last Thursday, you missed a very revealing moment that demonstrated just how out of touch our media elites are with the American people and American history.

During the exchange, ABC played a truncated clip of Governor Palin in her church praying for our troops, praying that their mission is in accordance with God’s plan.

After reciting just a small portion of her prayer, Mr. Gibson glibly asked Governor Palin, “Are we fighting a holy war?”

One wonders if Mr. Gibson would have asked the same question to President Bill Clinton, John F. Kennedy, Franklin Roosevelt, or any of the other Presidents who have offered similar prayers for the troops in times of war.

We have made a video asking this very question, which you can watch at Newt.org.

And of course, my book Rediscovering God in America and the movie Callista and I made of the same name offers viewers a walking tour of the monuments and historical sites of Washington, D.C. to show our country’s heritage of faith.

    Your friend,
    Newt Gingrich

As a longtime McCain supporter and occasional supporter of Democrats (Clinton in his second run) it’s heartening to see Democrats realizing how vacuous The One really is. While I was not a Hillary supporter I can at least say that if she were elected I would have known that as President she would wake up each day and be thinking of America’s interests first, last and always. I probably would have disagreed with many of her policies but I would have trusted her to face down Putin, for example, and to understand and accept the idea of American exceptionalism.

Obama seems like a genuinely decent and intelligent person, but I can’t identify any important accomplishment he has made or be sure there is any core principle he would defend without question. And even as a Democratic opponent I never understood how he could have passed over Hillary as his running mate. I have to believe that historically this decision was unprecendented. That he didn’t even vet her for the job is really quite extraordinary.

Providing a unified front against this dictator in support of the Jewish groups sponsoring this event is paramount to hugs or partisan fights.

This is not about the Democratic Party. This is not about Hillary. This is not about Palin. This is an event designed to make a statement to the UN in regard to a rogue leader.

The story you fear IS ALREADY being told at length. All day, everyday there are stories and questions about Clinton’s acceptance or not of Palin.

Clinton’s obvious factoring in of partisanship to her decision is what makes this a partisan issue, not the fact that both were invited, and not the fact that they are public figures.
There are any number of other reasons she could have cited for not attending, she chose to say it was because of Palin’s invitation.

As for what I expect her to do, I fully expect she will continue to support Barack Obama.

It’s odd that Hillary supporters are so offended when other Hillary supporters are disappointed in her recent decisions.

  • Creature of Chicago

These people are stone cold crazy.

In Philadelphia, John Street, Democrat – AA, beat Sam Katz, Jew, in mayoral race. You know who put Street over the top?

The Center City Jews. If they had voted for Katz, he would have won.

That’s how prejudiced against Blacks the Jews are.

Semitia is a useful idiot of the Oborg.

What about General Patton’s famous prayer to have the weather break, I believe he was on his way to relieve the General at Bastogne, you know the one who replied NUTS to the surrender demand.

  • Boondoggled

it was right for Clinton to stay away.

This gives Gov Palin ALL the limelight she deserves, and won’t detract from any important speech content that Gov Palin gives.

Also, remember that the PUMAS have crossed the Rubicon for McCain, so Clinton doesn’t want to interject her person into this important presence for the first time, of Gov Palin at the UN.

    PUMAS for McCain-Palin

Is this why Donna Brazile and Karl Rove have become so lovey-dovey? I understand he was giving her pointers all during the primaries.

I didn’t know that he hated McCain but it stands to reason. McCain is an honest gentleman and Rove is a dishonest weasel.

I,too, have noticed that Fox has hired him as a consultant. Will wonders never cease. What ever happened to “Fair and Balanced”? The only cable news I watch anymore is Hannity and Colmes, and that is hard to stomach sometimes because Alan Colmes is such a weasel himself.

Greta Susteren is ok most of the time, and on the whole is fair. Also her husband was a great fan of Hillary’s and is now supporting John McCain. She may be too for all I know but unlike the MSNBC and CNN jerks she wouldn’t let it interfere with her job.

If this story goes viral, expect to get the Hillary/Bosnia story thrown at us again ad nauseum(inadvertently omitting the words “threat of” from the phrase “under sniper fire”.)

Jews have been so heroic in fighting discrimination. But the fact is that Jews tend to support anyone who supports Israel. That isn’t universally true; many Jews are fighhting for the rights of Palestinians. The Jews are the most amazing race of people on this earth; I am sorry that some, like Ms. Rothschild, put their race about humanity.

  • Michelle

Lady de Rothschild is a sexist pig. Her switch to the republican party candidate who recently announced his pick of a woman VP candidate is proof of my claims. The Democratic message didn’t change with Clintons failed nomination bid, but Rothschilds support did.

  • Duras

Actually, Ms. DeRothchilds is a true patriot who values country above party and who knows what a disaster Barack Obama would be as president. It took a lot of guts to come out against her party like this.

Now hit the road, you idiot.

  • Michelle

Where’s your proof? I have hard evidence. You have her word. Which she’s demonstrated means nothing.

  • Duras

I wouldn’t worry too much. It’s basically a horserace at this point in time. The mortgage meltdown that’s been in the news lately is no doubt hurting McCain a bit, since his party is in control of the White House. But the mortgage mess will eventually move off the headlines and we have three head-to-head debates coming up. This is a format in which McCain is strong and Obama is not.

Also, the 527 ads hitting Obama have only just started running in key battleground states.

All McCain and Palin really have to do is keep the race within 1 or 2 points in the national polls up until the final week. Then, the combination of the “Bradley effect” and the release of the “whitey tape” will ensure a McCain victory. McCain and Palin just need to avoid any major gaffes between now and then.

    your anti-semitism is showing, deah.

    tsk. tsk.

    no more acceptable than racism.

    get it?

Is there any way we can incorporate ‘ratings’ here like on TalkLeft? I’d give you a ’5′ for that one ;-) .

  • Steve Ezratty

Neither one of these candidates, McCain or Obama, are qualified to be President. Is this truly the best America has to offer? Clinton was no better. She approached the campaign with a huge sense of entitlement. Maybe 2012 will produce better options.

  • justanaverageamerican

This ultra wealthy woman is no populist or Democrat. She’s a manipulator of Democrats. She’s a divider of Democrats.

Her agenda is more about putting Republicans into office and ensuring her tax cuts and corporate welfare. Given the chance she’d screw the USA and average Americans quicker than you could say “I need more cheap labor for my mansions”.

I also agree with others that her mission is all about making Jerusalem the capital of the New World Order.

I am new to this site. I love the Clintons, dislike obama but especially dislike republicans. Especially for what they did to WJC. Total assholes.

How can any Democrat vote republican? Remember when that republican woman said to McCain, “how do we beat the bitch?”. Real class.

I suggest everyone vote for obama or a third party. Hell even Bob Barr. I think I am going with Ralph. He does speak truth to power.
