He’s an ACTOR. It’s his job to stand in front of the lights and say lines written for him. That the lines are/were written to influence, rather than amuse the public is just how it is.

Once upon a time he was funny, if you enjoyed the lampooning of hillbillies and rednecks.

Now, he’s just a punchline.

“I certainly noticed the vote on Prop C, the healthcare law, and message received,” Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) said.  
 
McCaskill, however, makes the point that people “don’t realize” how beneficial the “mandate” for health care will be. “A lot of noise about the mandate that people have gotten so focused on that they don’t realize that there’s going to be more access and affordability and more choices,” she said.

Lucky for McCaskill she doesn’t have to face the voters until 2012. I’m sure she thinks they will have forgotten all about this by then. Sadly, she may be right.

As Democrats in Washington began their drive toward national health care last year, Jane Cunningham, a state senator from St. Louis County, could tell that something was stirring in Missouri.

“I started getting phone calls from constituents that were more concerned than I had ever heard before in my entire decade in the legislature,”

Cunningham said in a Tuesday phone interview with TAS.

“They were frightened and they were angry and they wanted us to find some kind of relief for them from what the federal government was proposing.”

In response, she got together with other state legislators….
