She was not of legal age.  That's part of the problem with the Obama birth place. Zero's mother could not have conveyed citizenship to him because she was not of legal age, though there is so much more to that case. So be careful about blaming the laws.  Some people don't know them, and the story in the video isn't saying that these people were correct in their assumptions; the woman is just telling the story of what was thought at the time of the marriage and  none of them, Christian or Muslim, seem like the sharpest tools in the box (the aunt being an exception.) The husband and his brothers look crazy and it's not  because they are Muslim or middle-eastern. The culture just validates the craziness as long as it's directed at misbehaving relatives.  I think we've got to accept that the idea of any kind of objective social justice is fairly recent for the most part. That men would kill rape victims to annihilate their own failure is probably pretty accurate and they probably considered it a perfectly acceptable reason. Life was brutal and usually short for most. Women also have killed in similarly socially mandated ways if driven by societal expectations. The massive infanticide and sex-selective abortion going on in India is largely driven by female decisions. But that's the past being unnaturally, and unecessarily dragged on and on. It's so old millenium and some of us haven't caught up yet. People are most aggressive when they are desperate, so the Muslims are desperate. Now, those who hell-bent on politically inclusiveness are not preserving America's heritage for future generations. I think it's worth a read, while it is not specifically addressing honor killings, it's scope is much broader, my hope is you'll be streghtened/emboldened by knowing the message is slowly working it's way through feminists circles. For too long the love of PC...inclusion/tolerance etc has kept a lid on critical commentary in this area. I do think the west is loosing it's way by becoming too tolerant, too inclusive of elements that are overtly in opposition to all that I thought we stood for. It's a difficult road to navigate.
