This was one of the cases I made with “progressive friends” was that their hatred for Hillary Clinton was both unfounded and many times reinforced by their sexism. They screamed and hollered that a vote for Obama was change and progress.

Now I was willing to hear that, except I asked, how is electing 44 men in a row change?
Why can’t you elect Hillary Clinton and see that change? And after all the bickering over the “iraq” vote, they had little more than conspiracy theory answers about her past and the CFR etc. But when I pointed out the Obama also was quite welcomed in to the CFR they disagreed vehemently. “He doesn’t take lobby money” etc etc.

But I asked them again, how is it 44 men in a row is change? Men have had their chance to run things for …hmmm..how long now?
When I grew up, my mother raised me, then my grandmother later. My first boss, woman, my first and best manager, a very strong woman who was awesome, and in the next job, another woman. But in my last outside job before starting my own business 10 years ago, each manager was a man, the pattens were very paternalistic at all levels. The turnover rate was disgusting.

I’m all for electing not white candidates as part of challenging the power structures that are dominated by white privilege but as much as we have to learn about these divisions, the power division between men and women is much more insidious and damaging than we see in the racial divisions.

I voted for a Democrat last year…in the primaries, she was treated so piss poor by her own party that I absolutely refused to vote for the Democrats in November. I only voted for one, my representative because he does the right thing and earned it, but the rest were independents and write ins.

If there is anything to learn from the past season of elections, some don’t know what is in their best interest whether it is regarding women or others. Getting caught up in a ‘movement’ isn’t change. Its parroting.

Hillary deserves respect and the votes of those doing the respecting. Obama defrauded the caucuses and won in Iowa by default. His lawers made sure the votes in Michigan and Florida didnh’t count!

The only difference between Palin and Hillary is choice. They both stand for equal rights for working women and equal pay for working mothers. Let’s not forget those are the basic tenets of the original “Feminist Manifesto”. Abortion rights came much later. In fact Palin, will and already is a role model for working mothers, who need to take babies and small preschool children to work before they are ready for daycare and preschool. Palin has been having babies and working as Mayor and Governor while doing it. There is a new trend in major corporations and offices to have on site daycare so working moms can bring their preschool children to work. Palin will expand that when elected.

It is certainly shooting oneself in the foot, or cutting one’s nose off to spite one’s face, if you’re a woman and you don’t see that having a women/mother working in one of the top profile jobs, is going to further the Feminist Manifesto. Disqualifying that becasue she does not support abortion is not seeing the feminine forest from the trees and sabotages all women and our daughters of the future.

I am a Hillary supporter, and there is NO WAY I could ever give my vote to Obama and the corrupt Democratic party for the way Hillary and all of her 18 million supporters were treated and were dissed by the DNC and Obama, when he ignored Hillary and his supporters as his running mate. I will not vote for Sexism, which is what the DNC and Obama have committed. I will not vote for cronyism, which is how the DNC conducted themselves by taking votes and delegates away from Hillary and cutting voters in half. I will not vote for the DNC as they no longer uphold my values as a working woman and working mother. As a woman, I will not be defined by abortion rights alone. I know that abortion will always remain legal, and will in the future be given over to the states to maintain which will take this ‘wedge’ issue out of the federal and political arenas, so the country can no longer be divided by what should remain a personal choice between and woman and her god. Feminism is not limited to reproductive rights, women are not that limited.

Palin will further the feminist cause and those who are being told to vote against the ticket are doing so out of fear.

I think that what has happened to women and the women’s movement this election cycle is very sad.
