Obama’s Social Security Whopper

He tells Social Security recipients their money would now be in the stock market under McCain’s plan. False.

Summary

In Daytona Beach, Obama said that “if my opponent had his way, the millions of Floridians who rely on it would’ve had their Social Security tied up in the stock market this week.” He referred to “elderly women” at risk of poverty, and said families would be scrambling to support “grandmothers and grandfathers.”

That’s not true. The plan proposed by President Bush and supported by McCain in 2005 would not have allowed anyone born before 1950 to invest any part of their Social Security taxes in private accounts. All current retirees would be covered by the same benefits they are now.

Obama would have been correct to say that many workers under age 58 would have had some portion of their Social Security benefits affected by the current market turmoil – if they had chosen to participate. And market drops would be a worry for those who retire in future decades. But current retirees would not have been affected.

I did not read the comments or even the past the first two paragraphs of this article.
I didn’t have to. Where anyone thinks that Hillary Clinton, who’s picture is still up on my blog, has anything at all in common with Palin totally and absolutely insults me for the extreme way it insults Hillary.
Plain doesn’t believe in abortion in the case of rape or incest. And, you think Hillary is okay with that? That one issue alone is enough to alert anyone with an ounce of sense that the two women stand for entirely different world views and approaches to solutions to our problems.
McCain is not, I repeat NOT, the McCain of 2000. He has turned into a wimpering man who has tried desperately to gain the acceptence of not just his party but the far right wing – mostly religious zealots – of the republican party and Palin was his ticket to that.
He’s using Palin because she is female and she’s going along with it for money and influence——she’s a political whore. How dare any of you compare her to Hillary Rodham-Clinton.

Walters already lost respect when she admitted in her bio. that she had an affair with a married man. I don’t care what she does in her private life nor with whom she does it with. But to publish this was uncalled for. By doing that she has caused tremendous pain to the man’s family.

The important thing here is that BO was involved with the get-olympics-to-chicago movement from the beginning, and worked with the group that decided to pitch having it on the SOUTH SIDE in order to boost minority interests.

Except that ‘minority interests’ anywhere in Chicago keep getting defined by those of Jarrett, Rezko, Auchi, Davis, etc. And as minority persons themselves, no doubt this is how the Obamas justify having ‘let’ Rezko help them buy their mansion, which just so happens to be right in the olympic development area.

Or maybe Hillary wants to support Obama, even though he stole the election from her and her rational supporters do not support Obama.

Remember that like Obama, Hillary is also a big fan of Saul Alinksy. Is there anything on the record where she has repudiated him?

So maybe Hillary is conflcted between 1) (appearing Centrist and her justified resentment about this particular election ) and 2) (her basic agreement about the Alinksy princples that Obama lives by)?
