I guess then, by that token, that government never should have gotten intertwined with moral issues – that’s church business. It’s too late for that line of thinking. Get real and realize that churches have to fight against everything that tries to deprive people of God, even if it is the government.

I think this ad is terrible to imply Catholics should vote only on the abortion issue. The Vatican also opposes the War in Iraq…and the major loss of life the Republicans are inflicting. PLease don’t think us so dumb as to be manipulated by this video to think Palin or McCain are right for Catholics. Jesus doesn’t belong to only one party, and Republican support of war is hypocritical to the Pro-life cause.

Absolutely horrifying that the Church would pander to cheap patriotism mixed with assaults on women’s inelianable right to contol their bodies. Typical!

It’s very powerful and I don’t necessarily see it as partisan, per se. As usual, the Democratic Party is allowing the GOP to co-opt patriotism, life, the family – so it appears that the ad is an endorsement for the GOP ticket.

American Catholics are actually Protestants deep down. We don’t fall in line for the Pope – many believe in birth control and quietly use it. There are times when American bishops verge on schism from the Vatican.

But this ad does strike at core values as the Church presents them. It is very well done. It won’t help Obama.

i used to be a democrat until my eyes were opened by two evil platforms they fight for. keep roe v. wade (to abort babies is to kill them); and same sex marriage (corrupting the sanctity of marriage). now, as to the candidates – if you owned a business w/c is the prize of your life and need a company president to run it; would you hire a rookie? obama is a rookie.it’s unbelievable people will choose someone who has not finished his first term as a senator; not to say who spends more time of his rookie years campaigning than stay in the senate, to run the most powerful country in the world! why not wait another 8 yrs (he’ll only be 55 yrs) and prove himself if he is truly what he says he is? why the rush? WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE RUSHING TO ELECT A ROOKIE?this is too much big risk for us americans and this great country w/c we all love. AMERICA WAKE UP!!!

I wasn’t moved at all, because I have never supported abortion. Gee, maybe it was my little sister in Mommies tummy when I was 7 years old that I still remember. Yeah, we (3 of us kids) went to the **ttle***’* across the street and had a big bucket of KFC when Mommie was away having the baby.
Not sure what I knew at the time, but it’s obvious now.
I can still see the bulging tummy in my mind, can still see the strange kitchen and the table a bunch of us sat at, and Mr. **ttle***, I can still see his happy face and big friendly smile, I know he was a great guy even though I was just a youngster at the time.
I HATED the commercial. It must be targeted at abotionists.
Only thing I can figure.

Since you asked how it made me FEEL:
TERRIBLE. The music was somber, then morphed into a RUSSIAN Soviet DEATH nationalism sound. Sure didn’t say family and life and country, THAT’S FOR SURE.
2. the voting booth was goofy – confused (confessional or voting booth?)
3. gas price was too high, it was a lie -anger
4. what the heck did the nuke towers mean ? -CONFUSED
5. Is the farmer stumped, too ? STUPID- so angry
6. The mother w baby is NAKED – too racey for a catholic ad – ANGER
7. the blacks holding hands in the air in the front yard of the white building was INSULTING – what are they on some slave plantation ? What the heck was that ?
8. he blacked and whited pic of the little black kid holding the PEACE sign was INSULTING – more racial politics – stupid stupid stupid playing games
9. The MLK pic was COOL – felt GOOD for the 1st time. that was WORTH SHOWING
10. The older B&W pics with the older people holding miniflags (and a child) was GOOD – liked that – felt good.
11. Bidens face – ruined it with stupod obama on the side – and it made me sick to see Palin and McCain portayed as “serious”. I got angry again – how STUPID do they expect people to be ? It screams propaganda.
12. Kinda lost track there…. who cares, it was LOUSY.
