I live in Northern California (12 miles west of UC Davis) and talked to a guy yesterday at our local grocery store who was born and raised in Davis and is a Democrat – said he’s voting for McCain/Palin.

Said his son lives in Alaska and knows Sarah Palin personally and thinks she’s a really great person.

I think Hispanics hold different views of blacks depending on what part of the country you come from.

I am a Hispanic raised in San Diego and I can tell you my extended family are all racists. My family line is very light skinned because of lots of Spanish blood (grandfather-blond hair, blue eyed, mom blue eyes) but ALL of my relatives, including those in other states do not like anyone who has darker skin than they do. They even discriminate against Mexicans that are darker than they are.

My parents are not Catholics, unlike the rest of the extended family, and my parents never espoused racism. I have two sisters and none of the three of us girls are racists and we are all liberals.

BUT what I am telling you is the truth. The rest of my extended family (I went to a family reunion early last year in Texas and there are about 125) are all hard core, can’t stand black people Hispanics. I grew up in a white neighborhood as my parents were well to do but I worked with educated Mexican women who were racist so in my opionion, YES there are certain sects of Hispanics that absolutely do not like black people. As a whole culture I do not know but from my experience in life, YES.

I resent that comment. Latinos do not believe that at all. Many latinos have strong African DNA. If anything, AAs can be abusive in their attitudes toward latinos.

Here in NY, latinos supported the first black mayor in his first run, they withheld it in his re-election bid, where they split. Latinos will give AA candidates a chance if they relate to them. But 0bama’s not doing that. Like the blue collar, women voters, he’s looking his nose down on this important voting bloc. He believes that latinos should cut him the same break that AAs have.

Ain’t gonna happen!

He has to really speak to the latino community. But he won’t. He doesn’t feel as if they are worth it.

And guess what? Latinos know this and will vote McCain.

Mr. Mike — they keep quoting tracking polls. These mean nothing. With 45 days to go its about individual state polls of likely voters.

Besides if Obama is dead even with McCain he will lose — he needs 6% more than McCain to break even because of the Bradley effect.

I am from Florida- have lived over 25 years here. The scope is this- 4500 went to Obama’s rally. A group of African American holy rollers tried to protest at the rall in Coral Gables. They were escorted out. This holy roller group believe Oprah is the evil woman that is predicted in the Revelation and gives power to the False Prophet. Anyway, they had their say and was thrown out. But, since I am from Florida, I can tell you that Coral Gables is majority Latino- and 4500 is nothing compares to the 200,000 or more that reside there. Secondly, he does not have the Jews (as many media people try to tell you) Boca Raton. Palms Beaches, Broward and the cities in the north of Florida are RED – the only advantage was Miami- and the cubans are voting Republican. The media is not telling you the truth- Florida has Mccain in the internal polls high and winning.
