Washington – The good will tour of the Middle East by the imam behind the proposed mosque near ground zero is just part of the U.S. government’s efforts to reach out to the Muslim world. This year, the Obama administration will spend nearly $6 million to restore 63 historic and cultural sites, including mosques and minarets, in 55 nations, according to State Department documents. (Snip) The contributions include $76,135 for the 16th century Grand Mosque in Tongxin, China, and $67,500 for the 18th century Golden Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan. Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday fretted that the “angry voices” protesting against the Ground Zero mosque will hurt Barack Obama’s attempts to reach out to the Muslim world. Talking to American University Professor Akbar Ahmed, the MSNBC host put the responsibility of tolerance on Americans: “Some would say that it is, really, for Americans, for majority of Americans to be more sensitive to minority communities.”

President Obama’s remarks at the recent annual Ramadan White House dinner enraged yet another group of beleaguered Americans, the relatives and friends of 9/11 victims and others who view the proposed construction of a Muslim community center, including a mosque, at Ground Zero as an obvious provocation. Mr. Obama solemnly defended the right of Muslims to build anywhere that Christians and Jews can build, including Ground Zero. He then “voted present” on the issue of whether they actually should build it….

So how is it they are exempt?

How abt Jehovah’s Witnesses?  Are they exempt? 

Just wondering.

This is unbelievable.  I reckon we’re still finding out what’s in it now that it has been passed and is law…

Separately New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (Democrat -Liberal) said he wants to see the site of the mosque moved. He blames the people behind this mosque for creating this firestorm.

Donald Trump weighed in and said the mosque should be relocated elsewhere.

Yet liberal mainstream media continues to push the freedom of religion red herring argument and call opponents to the current location bigots.

Isn’t this nice. If you are of the Muslim religion, you don’t have to give all the new Obamacare healthcare reform regulations and penalties another thought. Because the concept of being compelled to participate in such a healthcare program offends Islamic sensibilities, Muslims are specifically exempt.

As a matter of fact if you are Amish, American Indian or a Chistian Scientist you do not need to participate or pay the taxes associated with healthcare reform. That means not having to be forced to buy healthcare insurance, not paying the taxes or the penalties if you don’t get it. Nice!

Here is what the regulations say:

 EXEMPTIONS FROM INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.

—In the case of an individual who is seeking an exemption certificate under section 1311(d)(4)(H) from any requirement or penalty imposed by section 5000A, the following information:

In the case of an individual seeking exemption based on the individual’s status as a

member of an exempt religious sect or division, as a member of a health care sharing ministry, as an Indian,

or as an individual eligible for a hardship exemption, such information as the Secretary shall prescribe.”

There are several reasons why an individual could claim exemption, being a member of a religion that does not believe in insurance is one of them. Islam is one of those religions. Muslims believe that health insurance is “haraam”, or forbidden; because they liken the ambiguity and probability of insurance to gambling. This belief excludes them from any of the requirements, mandates, or penalties set forth in the bill. More…

This means that if you are Christian and abortion is against your religion tough luck.

If you are Jewish tough luck as well. 

We wonder why these certain groups get a free ride. We also wonder why the largest religious block in North and South America the Christians are discriminated against like this. Very odd indeed.

There is a lot of food for thought here and a lot of ways to object to this healthcare bill isn’t there.

Extremely well said. At its very core this country was founded on a very simple principle. Every founder believed that the greatest danger to us was a stronger and stronger central government. The reason is that they believed in self-reliance and self-determination. The more power a government attains the less freedom individuals have.

For whatever reason the majority of the press have strongly believed in a strong central government as do liberals. They have no historical success to support their stance so they distort the truth, deny information, and even invent myths.

VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. — The White House says President Barack Obama will have no further comment on the mosque near Ground Zero in New York and the administration will not get involved in talks about relocating the controversial facility. Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton was asked about the issue Tuesday at a White House press briefing. He replied, “No, and no” to the questions of whether Obama would weigh in further, or whether the White House would have a role in discussions about moving the mosque.
