Depends Who You Are On The View

Leisa, one of our regular readers, sent me this video that compares just how dramatically differently John McCain and Barack Obama were treated on ABC’s The View. I noticed similar differences today on ABC’s This Week, which was heavily anti-McCain, and it wasn’t until I caught PBS’s McLaughlin Report that I heard any commentaries that were critical of Obama’s economic views and how his advisers — such as former Fannie Mae heavyweights Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson — were negative contributors to our current financial crisis.

Last week, Matthew Weaver wrote an excellent analysis of how McCain was treated on The View: “McCain took on The View and came out the winner.”

And for more on Obama’s questionable associations, check out:

  • Shiloh

Not much because McCain wants to remain above that. Look for the 527s to do want you want, and for McCain to be condemning at least some of it as it happens.

  • Steve

Franklin Raines is not now nor has he ever been an advisor to the Obama presidential campaign. The Washington Post life and styles reporter reported months back Raines spoke a couple of times to members of the campaign. Apparently, they were general chats.. Johnson was on Obama VP search committee before he resigned/fired for conflict reasons..

With early voting, the time to start is now. I don’t believe there is quite as much as I hope for. Feels like it’s going to take a sort of smoking gun video of Obama applauding a ‘God Damn Amerikkka’ speech. Even then I feel like he’d retain about 90% of his voters, and that sort of scares me. Like I’m almost as scared as Matt Damon.

After catching up re the economic situation at the confluence and corrente, I think we should all be contacting Hillary’s office to ask her to take as much leadership on getting a real deal re Paulson, and fighting off the Bush ‘clean’ bill.

Apparently corrente etc. are willing to turn to BO for this leadership, but I doubt he understands this stuff (no sign of it in any of his intellectual activity to date), but Hillary has already wonked it. The key issue appears to be the valuation issue (how to determine what Paulson agrees to pay for the so-called toxic assets) and whether the taxpayers will get any equity in the firms they bail out.

Could be of historical significance. We need Hillary to be involved.

    Asap.

Steve, Please don’t be so naive…. Obama is up to his eyeballs in corruption… It’s there, everywhere, just do the research…

I hope McCain does an ad showing the WH and Ayers and Wright. Obama has referred to McCain and his supposed lobbyists having access to the WH. Lets see how it comes over with those 2 being allowed in.

Its hard to run against Mr So Gosh Darn Good Looking.

It disgusting to me that they tried to act like Lipstick disavowing Liberal Lumberjackettes with McCain but were the sterotypical ladies with wet panties for Obama.

    Absolutely shameless.

Its a disgrace to women and a disgrace to journalism…but then Barbra Walters Sally Jesse Rafael Jr gave up any semblance of journalistic integrity when she started the View.

And in case anyone is wondering, no none of her famous interviews were particularly good. She was the token female in an era where men dominated the news and she got interviews because she was considered a softie who would run the interview in the best light possible for the interviewer at the time.

What noone remembers the Barbra Streisand cry me a river interview? At the time Babs was suffering from a huge backlash in hollywood cause everybody was calling her a well, a really pushey bad person. This was around the time she was taking her career queues from John Peters, the Hairstylist turned hollywood producer to the stars. And Barbra brought babs out to talk about her likeability and Babs cried on queue.

Barbra Walters…You can put lipstick on her so called journalism but its still just a fluffed up press piece with an agenda.

EXCELLENT VIDEO. Someone should also make one of these with the Gibson interviews of Palin and Obama. All of this will come in very handy if Congress tries to push for the Fairness Doctrine. If it is passed, it must be applied to NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS also.

We all need to email that video and this link that Denise gave us too.

A Call For Hearings Into Senator Barack Obama’s Violation Of The Logan Act

Write a Letter to Congress : 5,958 Letters Sent So Far
We demand that Congress open hearings on Senator Barack Obama’s potential violations of the Logan Act.

On at least two separate occasions, as documented by NBC and The New York Post, Senator Barack Obama has attempted to negotiate a delay to U.S. negotiations with Iraq until after the elections.

We feel this is an egregious abuse of his position and in violation of the Logan Act, which by historical judicial interpretation prevents anyone, including members of Congress, from interfering with U.S. negotiations.

If you believe Obama violated the Logan act go to this link. It’s so easy to voice your concern.

    http://www.rallycongress.com/americansentinel/1223/a-call-for-hearings-into-senator-barack-obamas-violation-of-the-logan-act/

Cut and paste the video and the above and lets take America back.

Unfortunately, they have already infiltrated the very fiber of the democratic process in this election. Even if he loses, he will have his Camp Obamaites and his People’s Army ready for the underground, as well as the legion of party faithful, who seem faithful only to being part of this unpatriotic scheme to take over at any cost. I don’t think they will be going away anytime soon.

I’d also point out that no one bothered to “correct” the story until it mattered. The Post domestic political reporters are intellectually dishonest, for the most part. (Marc Fisher is still good, for example.) I canceled my subscription a few days ago because there was unrelenting positive coverage for Obama and negative for McCain and Palin. So why should we believe a Post reporter changing her story from the original?

Breaking News, clarification from CNN and MSNBC

According to CNN and MSNBC the crowd who watched Gov Palin was not 60,000 but was only 6,000. The 54,000 was there for Sen Obama and waiting for him to speak.

CNN and MSNBC did not cover the event because they don’t want to embarass the McCain/Palin ticket. Instead they showed a black dude on TV named Roland Martin to stumping for Obama.

McCain has some ideas about the bailout, etc. He would appoint Andrew Cuomo, a Dem, to head the SEC. He may want an advisory board to oversee Paulson — perhaps staffed with people like Warren Buffet, Mitt Romney (actually, a shrewd investor) and Bloomberg.

And he wants to eliminate Karl Rove’s political office within the WH.

These all sound like good ideas to me.

On Wednesday, July 16, 2008 the Washington Post has a Page One, Section D, story that Raines has “taken calls from Barack Obama’s presidential campaign seeking his advice on mortgage and housing policy matters”.

But Barack Obama objects a full two months later because McCain points it out? Obama denies Raines ever provided advice to the campaign two months after the story appears in the Post?

It did not bother the Obama camp when the Post and Raines made the statement. The denial now is not to be believed.

  • Diana L. C.

Frightening–thanks for your research. Thanks for posting.

    Wow, is she good:

“This week, when the economic crisis threatened the livelihoods of millions of Americans, John McCain took a clear stand and he offered his own recovery plan,” Palin told an enthusiastic crowd of thousands. “Our opponent refused to even take a stand on the position.

“And that’s a lot like his tenure in the Illinois state legislature where Barack Obama voted present about 130 times. This week he voted present on the major economic issues of the day, and that is not leadership, America. It’s not leadership Americans can afford.”

Just a minute. No you haven’t done your homework. Obama and Raines go way back, you would have to dig for it. See, you can’t investigate Obama unless you know what to look for. Like old discriminatory suits filed against financial institutions for not loaning money to AAs who didn’t have enough income. Like Citibank?

Obama supporters don’t stand a chance in your investigating him. You would have had to start a little over a year ago.

I would love to take all Obama supporters through those wonderful organized streets of Chicago that Obama had so much influence in. What? Cowards? No, you don’t want to talk to the people or see the slums that Obama and Rezko helped build? How about those lives he had a hand in to destroy through his greed to get to the “top.”

Cowards, just like Obama. If anyone of you Obama supporters can come up with one piece of evidence, like a paper trail from Columbia or Harvard… just a personal thesis. Even a foot print or finger print that he actually contributed in either events or classes!

You investigated? I worked in downtown Chicago for 30 years. I know who Obama is. You would not be supporting him had you any sense of shame.

Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac execs now offering advice to Obama. Senator’s links to mortgage giants also include campaign contributions:

    http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=75586

The root of the financial crisis is Fannie and Freddie and the subprime meltdown. Fannie and Freddie gave Obama $126,349 in 3 years. By contrast, they gave McCain $21,550 over the course of 19 years. Per year, Obama got over $42,100 vs. McCain’s $1134. Why did Obama get 37x more money per annum?

To break it down, Obama got $6,000 from the Fannie/Freddie PAC, McCain 0. Total from individuals:

    Obama: $120,349 (over 3 years)
    McCain: 21,550 (over 19 years)
