Well said Larry.
Having been in Iraq, I am inclined to say that Iran’s influence among every day Shia is overrated. Iraq’s Shia are Arabs and many of them remember the Iran-Iraq war.

Though wouldn’t you agree that the radicals in Tehran are still a preferrable option to the Wahhabis?

Well, that should help the steel industry. You can replace the lead in shotgun shells with bbs, works great. And a steel bullet will kill just as well as a lead one. It can even be configured to mushroom on impact, like the lead ones. So even if they outlaw lead in an attempt to deprive the American public of its ammunition, there are lots of metals one can make bullets out of..lots and lots.

I don’t think we have many good options. Also depends on what our ultimate strategic goal is. If we want to contain Iran then we should probably step up covert support tot he Sunnis. Problem with that is we end up funding terrorism by the very same folks (at least ideologically) who want to attack us. I don’t believe occupying Iraq is an option. We could take a shot at cultivating the moderate Shias and using them to drive a wedge in Iran.

all those wasted trillions of tax payer money that obaME gave to his cronies would have been better spent (and probably cheaper too) if he just sent every citizen say $150,000. (since its our money to begin with) we’d see how fast the economy would improve. people could pay off or down their mortgages, start spending again and turn the economy around. it seems like such an easy solution but then obame wouldnt be able to spread it around to his friends and keep the rest of us down and out and looking for handouts.
