The Speech Sarah Palin planned to give

This is a cross post of  a member post on my site Partizane.com

I’m just posting her speech here in its entirety for those who haven’t read it. I would love to have heard her say these words that are so true.  Governor Palin was invited, then uninvited to speak at a rally in New York yesterday protesting the appearance by Iran’s whacko President.

___________________________________

I am honored to be with you and with leaders from across this great country — leaders from different faiths and political parties united in a single voice of outrage.

Tomorrow, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will come to New York — to the heart of what he calls the Great Satan — and speak freely in this, a country whose demise he has called for.

Ahmadinejad may choose his words carefully, but underneath all of the rhetoric is an agenda that threatens all who seek a safer and freer world. We gather here today to highlight the Iranian dictator’s intentions and to call for action to thwart him.

He must be stopped.

The world must awake to the threat this man poses to all of us. Ahmadinejad denies that the Holocaust ever took place. He dreams of being an agent in a “Final Solution” — the elimination of the Jewish people. He has called Israel a “stinking corpse” that is “on its way to annihilation.” Such talk cannot be dismissed as the ravings of a madman — not when Iran just this summer tested long-range Shahab-3 missiles capable of striking Tel Aviv, not when the Iranian nuclear program is nearing completion, and not when Iran sponsors terrorists that threaten and kill innocent people around the world.

The Iranian government wants nuclear weapons. The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran is running at least 3,800 centrifuges and that its uranium enrichment capacity is rapidly improving. According to news reports, U.S. intelligence agencies believe the Iranians may have enough nuclear material to produce a bomb within a year.

The world has condemned these activities. The United Nations Security Council has demanded that Iran suspend its illegal nuclear enrichment activities. It has levied three rounds of sanctions. How has Ahmadinejad responded? With the declaration that the “Iranian nation would not retreat one iota” from its nuclear program.

So, what should we do about this growing threat? First, we must succeed in Iraq. If we fail there, it will jeopardize the democracy the Iraqis have worked so hard to build, and empower the extremists in neighboring Iran. Iran has armed and trained terrorists who have killed our soldiers in Iraq, and it is Iran that would benefit from an American defeat in Iraq.Sarah

If we retreat without leaving a stable Iraq, Iran’s nuclear ambitions will be bolstered. If Iran acquires nuclear weapons — they could share them tomorrow with the terrorists they finance, arm, and train today. Iranian nuclear weapons would set off a dangerous regional nuclear arms race that would make all of us less safe.

But Iran is not only a regional threat; it threatens the entire world. It is the no. 1 state sponsor of terrorism. It sponsors the world’s most vicious terrorist groups, Hamas and Hezbollah. Together, Iran and its terrorists are responsible for the deaths of Americans in Lebanon in the 1980s, in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s, and in Iraq today. They have murdered Iraqis, Lebanese, Palestinians, and other Muslims who have resisted Iran’s desire to dominate the region. They have persecuted countless people simply because they are Jewish.

Iran is responsible for attacks not only on Israelis, but on Jews living as far away as Argentina. Anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial are part of Iran’s official ideology and murder is part of its official policy. Not even Iranian citizens are safe from their government’s threat to those who want to live, work, and worship in peace. Politically-motivated abductions, torture, death by stoning, flogging, and amputations are just some of its state-sanctioned punishments.

It is said that the measure of a country is the treatment of its most vulnerable citizens. By that standard, the Iranian government is both oppressive and barbaric. Under Ahmadinejad’s rule, Iranian women are some of the most vulnerable citizens.

If an Iranian woman shows too much hair in public, she risks being beaten or killed.

If she walks down a public street in clothing that violates the state dress code, she could be arrested.

But in the face of this harsh regime, the Iranian women have shown courage. Despite threats to their lives and their families, Iranian women have sought better treatment through the “One Million Signatures Campaign Demanding Changes to Discriminatory Laws.” The authorities have reacted with predictable barbarism. Last year, women’s rights activist Delaram Ali was sentenced to 20 lashes and 10 months in prison for committing the crime of “propaganda against the system.” After international protests, the judiciary reduced her sentence to “only” 10 lashes and 36 months in prison and then temporarily suspended her sentence. She still faces the threat of imprisonment.

Earlier this year, Senator Clinton said that “Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is in the forefront of that” effort. Senator Clinton argued that part of our response must include stronger sanctions, including the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. John McCain and I could not agree more.

Senator Clinton understands the nature of this threat and what we must do to confront it. This is an issue that should unite all Americans. Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. Period. And in a single voice, we must be loud enough for the whole world to hear: Stop Iran!

Only by working together, across national, religious, and political differences, can we alter this regime’s dangerous behavior. Iran has many vulnerabilities, including a regime weakened by sanctions and a population eager to embrace opportunities with the West. We must increase economic pressure to change Iran’s behavior.

Tomorrow, Ahmadinejad will come to New York. On our soil, he will exercise the right of freedom of speech — a right he denies his own people. He will share his hateful agenda with the world. Our task is to focus the world on what can be done to stop him.

We must rally the world to press for truly tough sanctions at the U.N. or with our allies if Iran’s allies continue to block action in the U.N. We must start with restrictions on Iran’s refined petroleum imports.

We must reduce our dependency on foreign oil to weaken Iran’s economic influence.

We must target the regime’s assets abroad; bank accounts, investments, and trading partners.

President Ahmadinejad should be held accountable for inciting genocide, a crime under international law.

We must sanction Iran’s Central Bank and the Revolutionary Guard Corps — which no one should doubt is a terrorist organization.

Together, we can stop Iran’s nuclear program.

Senator McCain has made a solemn commitment that I strongly endorse: Never again will we risk another Holocaust. And this is not a wish, a request, or a plea to Israel’s enemies. This is a promise that the United States and Israel will honor, against any enemy who cares to test us. It is John McCain’s promise and it is my promise.

Thank you.

The description of state sponsored abuse against Iranian women is chilling.

The Ohitler campaign’s abuse of women albeit mental is also chilling.

        • Creature of Chicago

I don’t know if 0zero’s abuse is necessarily confined to the mental variety.

He was pretty blatant when he flipped Hillary the bird. And then the infamous lipstick on a pig comment that just thrilled his 0botic followers.

          • http://JohnMcCain.com Chockablock “Hillawee can you change my diapy pwease?” Opampers

That is all mental abuse. It is not physical or sexual abuse. In other words no actual physical contact. But it is still abuse in my book.

          • Kal

Not to mention his endorsement of tax measures that will obviously disadvantage women as compared to men.

    • Leisa

Sarah’s speech was nonpartisan and about human rights. She called for us to work together to confront threats to a peaceful world.

I am gravely concerned about the media’s complicit role in spreading disinformation about Sarah and McCain.

If we allow the media to elect our POTUS, we may as well get ready to give up all of our freedoms.

  • benny

The speech that Palin planned to give is excellent.

  • wodiej

well gee, I don’t know why they didn’t want her to speak! This woman is on the case. OBama supporters are a bunch of friggin satanic kook communists. They should go live in Iran.

  • Ex-Puma

Thankfully Hillary stayed well away from this mad nad and dangerous fool. I bet she thinks you can see Iran from Alaska as well.

The line her speechwriters added about Iran being a terrorist state was exacly what they said about Iraq? How many more Wars do thes neo-cons want?

Her speechwriters line about Women in Iran was a gross example of hypocrisy. If you get raped under Palin law, you have to pay to be tested and if you are pregnant, you have to keep the baby.

No How, No Way, No Palin McShame.

    Obama 08/12
    Clinton 16/20

Yes, right-wingers are the scum of the earth. The years 2000-2006 alone proved that Republicans are incompetent traitors.

This troll was never a PUMA.

The PUMA movement was born because of the lies and outright fraud conducted within our party. PUMA was a response to lie spreaders such as this troll.

          • Ex-Puma

Well I managed to get my money back from one of the PUMA organisations because they could not justify to me why when Hillary says No Way No How No Palin McCain, she is not supposed to mean it.

At least my donation to Hillary is listed as is my refund from one of the JSND groups. Where are the donations from Murphy or Bowers? Why did PUMA lie about clearing the campaign debts of Hillary?

PUMA was a lie set up by the GOP to disguise the last 8 years of incompetence.

Hillary is a far better Politician than any Republican as is Obama. Another Republican will vindicate to them every single policy of the last 8 years. For what Bush has done to America the Republicans must be punished electorally and hard.

After that I can not wait to see Hillary in the Supreme Court or as Secretary of State.

She scares the shit out of ya huh! Afraid to lose to a woman who dosen`t fit YOUR idea of what a feminist is. Tough. Get used to it.

          • Ex-Puma

She is nothing but a bimbo, selected because some men may think she looks good. She may be called Palin, but she is just Plain.

            Hillary has real beauty.

What scares me is her stupidity such as threatening war with Russia. She is a bigot who made women pay for rape kits.

As for dangerous associations, her church has a speech on it which says Israel deserves to be bombed because it does not worship Jesus.

This woman could be one step away from the Presidency. As a woman, I care about having a Woman President, but not at any price and I want this one no where near the Presidency.

            • HARP

            • benny

              • No way No Mccain

Yes she is a Govenor but so was Bush. See how well that went? Or have you been living on another planet for the 8 years? I am a woman and will never vote for McCain because of his lies. Not because he has an incompetant woman for his running mate.

                • Creature of Chicago

Bill Clinton was a governor also.

            • No way No Mccain

I agree with you ex puma. Palin is scary. I too wanted Hillary as our President but will not vote for a woman at any price. Certainly not a rethug. We have had 8 years of this crap. Her church also belives in the touch your head and I can cure you theory. As well as gays can be counseled into becoming straight. Palin repeats her lies of the brige to nowhere. She took the money and instead built a road to nowhere. She supported this until the politics got ugly. She is Bush in drag.

I also agree PUMA is a joke. It was created by the GOP to divide the party. Well it did not work. A few right wing fringe elements can claim to be dems who supported Hillary but the facts do not support their claims. They represent everything Hillary is against which tells me this whole PUMA thing was orchestrated by the GOP. It’s easy to say you are for Hillary but what they really are is against Obama. Period.

              • Jaycephus

“I too wanted Hillary…but will not vote for a woman at any price.”

              Ex-Puma,

Please keep your fake fear to yourself. It is well-known by everyone on this site that the Gibson interview was a hack job, with Palin’s response cut down to make it seem like she ‘wanted’ a war with Russia, when the exact opposite was stated in her full response.

“She’s a bigot” What the…? Oh, crap, I responded to a mindless Obamatron. It’s so easy to get sucked in.

            • Ani

        • Carol

Would you please give us the link to this Alaska Family Council Voter Guide? I googled it and surprise surprise all I got were blogs. The individuals who posted this garbage also did not supply links.

I did find one blog who had a supposed link to this document, but once again, the link was to an Anti-Palin document. Nothing in the entire document stated it was the Alaska Family Council etc. It was just totally slamming Sarah.

So please, send us the link.

          • Carol

I forgot to add that Sarah Palin’s answers to the Questionaire in running for Governor:

            6. If Roe v. Wade were overturned and states could once again prohibit abortion, in your view, to what extent should abortion be prohibited in Alaska?

Sarahs answer: Under this hypothetical scenario, it would not be up to the governor to unilaterally ban anything. It would be up to the people of Alaska to discuss and decide how we would like our society to reflect our values. (emphasis mine)

            7. Do you support or oppose the use of public funds for abortion (e.g., paying for abortion, promoting abortion, subsidizing organizations that provide or refer for abortion)?

Sarah’s answer: I oppose the use of public funds for elective abortions. (emphasis mine)

I will be researching furthur to rebut your comments.

I agree with you. No more neocons, no more republicans. It is easy to say this is the speech she would have given when she didn’t have to give it. The more hatred you people spew, the more undecided voters like me will be pushed to vote for Obama. I have only seen hatred come from one side in this election and that is the rethugs claiming to have been dems. Yeah and Palin has a bridge she would like to sell you. You made my point.

          • vinnie

What’s really sad is when self proclaimed women defender can joke about Palin getting gang raped. Nothing progressive in that. Just hate on hate. So stop the BS.

            Stop impaling Palin
I have a message for the self-styled guardians of womanhood who have decided that Sarah Palin is public enemy No. 1 – please stop talking. You’re embarrassing yourselves and women all over the country.

You are making otherwise thoughtful, careful, intelligent, tolerant and modern American women of every political bent look and sound ridiculous. As a woman myself, I’m begging you to stop. Put the pen down, close out the blog, push the E! microphone away. Your trash-talking is disturbing and humiliating. In fact, it’s setting back the true cause of feminism – the advancement of women – far more than your imagined nemesis.

So the Ex-Puma is placing pro-choice above the outrage and the horrors of Iran. Right? That was more important than the specter of a nut-job having access to nukes. Right? That was more important than giving Sarah Palin an opportunity to eloquently and cogently voice these outrages to the world. Right?

And this is of course was done before McCain again lied about Rick Davis’ ties to Fannie Mae. Of course we know that this boomerang was headed back to McCain.

      What the…?

Raped under “Palin law”? Oh, yes, the media myth that VP Palin would ‘decree’ some sort of pro-rape, no-abortion constitutional amendment. Something like Sharia law? You know the one that actually prevails in much of the world, and is making inroads in Western democracies? The one where a woman can be legally raped or killed if she doesn’t toe the line?

Joe Biden, is that you? Don’t bring this stuff to the debates or you will be utterly destroyed by Palin.

Actually, ‘Hypocrisy’ is a liberal defending Ahmadinejad (and radical Islam as well), just in case you wanted to really know what the word means.

BTW, if you get Obama in ’08, you won’t ever get a Clinton.

      • McHope

Would that be like the Sharia Law that Obamacrazy and his kissin cousin Odinga fought for as they proceeded to back rampant and brutal killings when they were not so oblidged?

The rape kits lie has been debunked for a while now. You were never a PUMA, because you rely on junk info and can’t think for yourself.

Sarah Palin’s comment about how close Russia is to Alaska illustrated how much thought she has given to the situation in Georgia and recent activities from a country that is not to be trifled with. That part of the interview ended up on the cutting room floor.

Iran is a sponsor of terrorism. Fact. They fund, arm and train Hamas and Hizbollah. Even your messiah caved to AIPAC pressure and recognized the IRG as a terrorist entity, even though he made the same fruity claims you are now that this is beating the war drums.

Sarah Palin also writes most of her own speeches. She is intelligent, independent-minded and has a gift for connecting with people as evidenced by the large crowds she draws at rallies.

It would have been a great thing, if she gave this speech. The Obama campaign behaved disgracefully by threatening the tax-exemption status of the group who organized this event. Hillary Clinton’s behavior was unbecoming to her, and she looked horrible and unprofessional. I can only hope she meant to turn off voters who might have voted for Obama, because she wants him to fail. Otherwise, she’s not the woman and politician I thought she was.

      • No way No Mccain

Are you kidding? Because she can see Russia she is now some expert on foriegn policy? That’s the best you can come up with?
        http://voices.washingtonpost.com/postpartisan/2008/09/putting_words_in_palins_mouth.html

She writes her own speeches? Please get the facts straight. Her speech writer is a former Bush speech writer. If you read the text of “her” speeches, you can hear Bush voice instead. It sounds like she is channeling Bush and no wonder, it is the same writer.

I guess if that is your standard, I can see why you are a rethug and throwing Hillary under the bus.

    • Soldier of Christ

Well….another one who calls themselves PUMA. Puma stands for no unity, child. So, get your koolaid and keeping drinking it. Hillary will be such as old as the man you are calling OLD- so why would you want to have her in 2016? You koolaid drinkers are all the same- abortion fanatics, gay rights fanatics and enironment fanatics. In the last 8 years did you fight in this war? Did you take a crap in a foxhole? Did you smell like BO while wearing your military uniform in the hot desert heat of the middleeast? Did you eat food that taste different from your pizza or hamburger that your great country America has for you? These “great warriors are not complaining- so why the hell are you? While you sit in your basement , play your video games, watch television and with a beer or wine in your hands, these guys are killing themselves for you, you ungrateful person! In the last 8 years did Bush take away the right of choice? No. In the last 8 years did Bush abolish gay rights? No….so what the hell are you compaining about anyway????

      • Ex-Puma

I am no child and it is because of people like you that I left PUMA (and had my money refunded). If you look up on the FEC you will see of the few who gave a large number got their money back.

PUMA meant support for Hillary. That is how it was sold. They even lied to say that they will pay her debts off. They never supported Hillary.

PUMA was full of people like this. GodWarrior, I watched you on tv. I am a married woman and I am proud to say my marriage would not be broken by allowing gays to marry.

As for being an environmental activist, yes I am do care about the environment. Democrats do. We care about having a world to leave to our children and grand children. Republicans care only about passing debt off.

No I did not fight any Bush War over the last 8 years. I did oppose them. I am not however a pacifist. I just believe that when we send our troops out to kill or be killed, the reasons for the war should be just and legal. Any party that fails that principle should be out of power for years.

As for rights taken away by Bush – he has trampelled all over the constitution and Republicans just do not get it, even McCain. Not only are illegal wars wrong, state sanctioned torture is a war crime.

      • Ex-Puma

        What is to complain about?

The Party that told us it would be wrong to bail out the miners, the car workers, the steel workers or the dockers, is the same Party that told us that is was socialist to have true universal health care. The Party that threatened our Pensioners with Privatisation of Social Security and left no money in the education budget.

No money for any programme. Until now. The biggest bail out in history. $700 billion.

Republicans deserve only one type of term, a long prison term.

        • WildChild

don’t you have to break a law first?

  • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com InsightAnalytical-GRL

Good speech! Did you see Karzai comments about his meeting with her??
And how CNN threatened to pull the feed if Palin wasn’t out there? The AP story in our paper said, “Palin, in a bubble, meets Karzai” and called it a crash-course in foreign affairs.

Whereas, Obama’s grand tour of Europe was nothing but a photo as well, but didn’t get threatened with a feed being cut~~ How many anchors went along and “newspeople” to cover it????? When did he speak?

    In the meantime…

Why Obama Doesn’t Want Clinton Democrats

May as well not want us. He can’t have millions of us anyway.

    • Carol

Excellent analysis done by Grail Guardian.

The last reason stated regarding the Obama team may have reason to “believe they know the election results due to subterfuge and illicit ties deep within the election” really confirms what I have been suspecting with the NeoDems registering all these new democrats. How many of all these new voter registrants are registering under more than one name? Didn’t these same “new voters” register during the primaries so they could vote for their “gift from God?” Just a thought, but I am deeply suspicious.

      • csuzeq

I am afraid that the GE is rigged for Obama, but then I see the desperation in Obama and his campaign and dem leaders faces and think it can’t be the case or they’d all be cool a cucumbers.

Why the desperation if they’ve got it covered?

        • No way No Mccain

Because the rethugs steal elections. How quickly the mindless repugs forget the last two GE while trying to make their points.

          • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

AHAHAHA! From someone who supported a candidate who took delegates from people in Michigan who never voted for him. AHAHA! Hey, Gore couldn’t eve carry his own home state. Donkey Braziere was his campaign manager. And HE QUIT! Bush beat him “fair and square.” You know WHY?!! Because you fucking lunatics scare the public every election year with your hate speech and childish behavior.

  • Carol

A great speech. If only we could have heard it delivered by her. I note she gave honor to Hillary by stating Hillary’s position on Iran. It is truly sad that Hillary had to buckle to the pressure put on her by the NeoDems to back out of the rally because Hillary’s speech would have been just as great.

The NeoDems have shown to the world that we are a severely divided Nation and that is not a good message to send round the world.

  • http://www.theindependentview.com Matthew Weaver

Too much on Iran. Timely yes, with the UN activities this week but the world has lots of other issues of concern to the U.S.

    • athena

Well this speech was to be given at the protest so it seems most appropriate. IMO

    • WMCB

Um, pay attention and learn to read. This was the speech she was going to give at the PROTEST over Ahmadinejad’s visit. She did not pull the topic randomly out of her ass.

Too much Iran? That was the entire point of the gathering – IRAN. Or do you think that she was supposed to go to a protest over Iran and talk about the price of beans in Boston, and infrastructure in Seattle?

  • http://villamedia.wordpress.com/ RepublicanChick

    Thank you, New Hampster!

This would’ve been a terrific speech for Sarah to have given, but it was obviously not meant to be.

    • http://JohnMcCain.com Chockablock “Hillawee can you change my diapy pwease?” Opampers

You mean not meant to be like some sort of fatalistic thing? Certainly possible but I have learned in my old age not to attach too much significance to theoretical unseen external forces. In other words we have fate in our own hands. That’s all we know for certain and can act on without any doubt.

      • http://villamedia.wordpress.com/ RepublicanChick

Oh my!! Not meaning it in a fatalistic sort of way. Good grief—>I’m not a doom monger! :-)

Another ex-PUMA!! Cool, there’s another nickel in my jar. If this keeps up Ben Bernanke nad Hank Paulson will be coming to ME for a bailout!

This must be the new special talking point from The One’s campaign (“pssssst, tell them you’re a former Hillary supporter but now you see the light!”). All I can say is, I’m sure glad I didn’t turn spotting them into a drinking game!

I am the same ex-puma who posted weeks back. I just have work to do, unless of course we get 4 more years of Republicans.

I donated $2300 to Hillary as did my husband. How much did you donate?

      • PhxNickD

ah so you’re a women calling another women a bimbo! it is because of females like you that women will remain second class citizens and looked down upon.

Learn something from the AA community and stand up for your own.

        • No way No Mccain

Being a woman does not mean voting for one because she is the same gender. I am a woman and Palin is a bimbo. Only picked because the GOP knows how to get ignorant american woman to vote. “She understands me, she’s a mom”. So what, her policies stink and she is an ignorant fool. That is why she has no media coverage. She has not said anything other than I am a woman vote for me. Now that is a bimbo.

      • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

Yeah, whatever. I remember you posting before, but we’ve all caught on to astroturfing. It’s about as new and original as lolcats. Obama has his internet army posing as conservatives on other sites. It’s funny watching everyone play “Spot the Prestige.”

        • No way No Mccain

To bad you can’t string a sentence together that makes any sense. It always yeah whatever. That’s as much intelligence as you can muster. It must be so difficult to have McCain be the candidate you support with an incompetent woman at his side. How pathectic. God forbid you talk about policy because she has none.

          • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

Am I getting a lecture on grammar from YOU?

It’s “too” bad not “to” bad.

You left out a verb and a pair of quotation marks in the second sentence.

“Yeah, whatever” is more than you deserve.

Bring some fucking policy to the discussion. I dare one of you assclowns to tell me exactly what CHANGE is. Let’s talk about Obama’s voting record. Let’s talk about the war, UHC, tax policy or energy. You’ve got nothing.

He picked Joe Biden, a man who’s been in the Senate as long as he has been alive, as his running mate. Even this guy admits he was not the best person for the job.

AND YOU WANT TO CALL SARAH PALIN “INCOMPETENT?”

I would laugh at you, if I didn’t want to choke you for taking up air other, more intelligent people, could be breathing.

            • imustprotest

Obamabullies call all women incompetent, they’re misogynists. Sarah Palin has more experience and true leadership skills then Barry and Joe put together.

      • Soldier of Christ

Gosh………..how fast people forget about the ties, the Larry S thing, the Ayers factor- and they can actually call themselves ex-PUMA. These are the idiots that we have in the democrat party. It is a good thing that I have become an independent. I just realize how stupid people are when they can just switch from one person to the next without blinking or remembering the reason they didn’t vote for him in the first place. I will pray for you ex-puma and your husband too. The 2300.00 was nice and you are not the first or the last to contribute that much to Hillary. We just have more sense than vote just for party- we are voting for our country, citizen.

  • pal3

I don’t like her speech. It sounds like she’s trying to pick a fight with IRAN. She should place emphasis on IRAN’s crimes and that America should form a coalition with the surrounding countries to fight against IRAN’s terror. The coalition should protect any country that is threaten by IRAN and not just Israel. This was what Hillary proposed in one of her debate. I hope there is an October’s Suprise to Obama off the ticket. America will fall with either choices.

    • wodiej

Hillary is not going to be VP or President this election and probably never. It’s over. We need to support McCain and Palin. It was a good speech. Sarah Palin is not Hillary Clinton. That doesn’t make Palin bad.

      • Docelder

Agreed, and I am not sure there is a “party” to pick up the pieces for. We have witnessed a “coup” and “Camp Obama” rules the democratic party. Like they have clearly stated… get with “the program” or get out. Hillary should go independent or republican, there is no place for her, or people like her, or people like most of us in that party at this point. The lines have been clearly drawn.

        • Carol

“Camp Obama” rules the democratic party.

This is Chicago Politics at work.

        • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

Hillary might be able to take the party back under a McCain administration, but she’s got her work cut out for her. She nurtured this den of vipers back when she and her husband were the heavyweights in the party. Well, now she’s in a big old snake pit.

      • K. Wynne

        wodiej,

I never count a Clinton out! While I prefer McCain/Palin to obama/biden, I still believe our country would be better off with Hillary as our president. I can’t let go of that dream because I do love my country and want what’s best for it. Hillary is what’s best for our country because it’s going to take more than 4 years to clean up the mess left by bush & co.

I doubt very seriously that McCain would be up to a second term and I don’t believe Palin would be up to the task YET of being president after only 4 years. Someday, for sure, but especially not if Hillary decides to make another go at it.

      • Phil Murphy

Nothing like setting your expectations as low as possible. Even McCain has to use things like, ” She was a point guard,” to make her sound better to crowds. Her administration is sounding more and more like the ole boys club she went after. Her Agriculture Secretary is an old friend who “liked cows” – yep, that’s her experience.

And she didn’t build the Bridge to nowhere, but she did fund and build the road to the bridge to nowhere.

On a scale of 0 to ten, ten being Hillary, Palin might be a two. Except for yesterday, name the top ten foreign leaders she has met. What is her position on Darfur? What is her position on funding support for birth-control in Aids ravaged Africa – especially if she is for abstinence and does not want sex education taught with birth control?

She may have views on this stuff, but she is NEVER allowed to speak to the press since she was picked. Her phones are answered by McCain people, and she is sequestered away like a virgin before a sacrifice to the volcano.

No, nothing makes Palin bad, but name why you would want her as President of the United States, aside from anger at Obama for beating Hillary, which is what this site seems all about.

        • Docelder

The point I think is Hillary’s party rejected her even when she was the stronger candidate. So even when Obama loses… I think the party is forever changed and “told you so” isn’t probably going to appease “Camp Obama” and his kool-aid crazed minions. I don’t see them going away, if anything they will use their defeat to fester hate and resentment for another run at America. It is not about whether Palin is or might become stronger or weaker… only that Hillary looks as homeless for a party right now as do most of fly-over America. There’s just two options go independent or republican. Stranger things have happened.

        • McHope

Hope you keep campaigning and pushing for Obama. Based on your logic, no one will take a word you say seriously.

Hey, did you know Clinton, Carter, Reagan and others were governors before becoming president? Not foreign policy experts.Reagan was an actor then a governor and he ended the Cold War.
In fact those presidents with the most previous foreign policy experience were arguably ones with military backgrounds.
Have you heard of John McCain?
Take your argument to an 18 year old who has no real idea what this country is facing..that’s all you have left oh, and that 96% black vote.
There’s been exactly 0 change in terms of Hillary supporters switching to Baracky- 0!

You’re using a point guard argument? Really? Obamessiah chose to play basketball instead of visiting wounded troops -that fight for the very freedom you now enjoy with your big mouth- without a press corp. He is a cold hearted monster devoid of feeling for anyone but himself. Too bad it wasn’t you in that uniform or hospital bed, then maybe you’d get it. AND Palin did visit those troops without fanfare, without playing politics long before Barry’s Big Adventure.

Don’t even start with pro life pro choice arguments. Obama voted 4 times against a bill to protect babies born alive in an abortion attempt. That’s about the most extreme a person could be. And there’s more, B. Hussein would like all restrictions on abortions lifted and wants no protection for doctors who refuse to perform the procedue. Radically extreme.

Please remember- every road you go down to demonize Gov Palin leads right back to Barack Obama. Keep it up.

        • kgirl1028

LOL do you really wanna go there. maybe you need to watch soldier4hillay’s you tube video about people in glass houses not throwing stones. I mean you candidate’s vice president, acts drunk, believes FDR was president at the beginning of the president, and that he got on tv when tv would really be available for anyone until about twenty years later, he has also called obama’s ad terrible *which it seriously was*, and that hillary clinton would have made a better running mate. And McCain has to make Palin look more appealing, what ever you say.

One thing i will know come November no matter who wins is that I have a whole heck of alot better judgement than you. Cause McCain actually cares about his constituents and barak obama never has and never will. So should you get your empty suit into white house. Your victory will be just as empty as you candidate. All I ask is for you to send me a picture of your face when you realized you have elected George Bush, or a letter of apology if he turns out to be Jimmy Carter.

        • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

Why do we care so much about Africa? We have this Islamic fundamentalist threat THANKS TO CARTER AND BRZEZINSKI WHO IS ADVISING OBAMA.

Right now we are in two wars, we face a threat from Russia and Iran, and we face a possible full financial meltdown. You want to go fight in Africa and send humanitarian aid? I say we fix our own problems first, since we’re starting to look a lot like Zimbabwe these days.

Sarah Palin has nothing close to Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy experience, but she brings her own strengths to the Republican ticket. When McCain talks about her being a point guard, it emphasizes her small town roots. She is someone most Americans can relate to. It also defines her as competitive and self-made. Which she is.

She has an indisputable reform record. When you oust the corrupt members of your own party and have to start over from scratch, you choose the people who are loyal to you. That’s one thing any real Clinton supporter can understand. The Clintons are known for loyalty to a fault. But Sarah Palin is nobody’s fool, or she would not be where she is now.

Big deal that the road to the bridge got built. She approved of the project until the spending recommendations got out of control. The reason she approved of it was because it would improve the lives of her contituents, but not if it increased their taxes and interfered with other projects that were more necessary. So, Sarah Palin killed the bridge; she was on the right side of that issue.

The press has been grossly irresponsible in the coverage of this election. They made no secret that they want to destroy this woman who poses a threat to their chosen candidate. And Sarah Palin didn’t stutter when she told them, “Here’s a little newsflash for those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion. I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this great country.”

        • No way No Mccain

          Phil,

You are right on target. Nothing makes Palin bad, just unqualified. Hiding her from the media is a stupid idea.
What 29 seconds we were allowed to see of Palin yesterday until the media was ushered out of the room was her talking about children? Great foriegn policy. Low expectations are all the repubs have left.

          • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

But I really felt confident in Obama’s foreign policy experience after hearing him discuss vacation plans with Gordon Brown. It made me forget that this man had never been to Europe, though that’s his subcommittee on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Where he skipped meetings on Afghanistan and never held a meeting with our NATO allies. And you have your panties in a twist, because Palin asked Karzai the name of his newborn. You’re a fucking laughriot.

            • imustprotest

Good point Hope, I forgot about his stupid comments to Brown!

    • Rob in Chicago

Russia backs Iran, and Europe gets much of their oil and natural gas from Russia (and Iran), so the Europeans will be their typical weenie selves on this one. I don’t see much of an effective coalition on this issue. All we seem to be hearing from our potential coalition partners is an echo from Obamaland, “Get over it and learn to live with Iran as a nuclear power.”

  • http://anvp.typepad.com/soldier4hillary/ soldier4hillary

Okay your not going to believe this shit but I am watching Biden on CNN and I have to ask who the hell Biden is campaigning for because he just made a comment about McCain is not stuck in the past and knows what our country needs (not a direct quote) but I am soooo confused. Is this guy on drugs or something? He is talking about foreign policy in Ohio. Maybe he mispoke I wonder how long it will take for them to realize what he just said.

who the hell Biden is campaigning for because he just made a comment about McCain is not stuck in the past and knows what our country needs

Maybe he hopes McCain will dump Palin and invite Biden onto his ticket?

      A guy can dream…

    • No way No Mccain

I just watched this as well. He made his point loud and clear. The direction of a McCain/Palin administration would be a disaster for this country. Period. McCain is stuck in the past and clueless. Let’s pick apart an extra word added and try to find hidden meaning. It was a great speech on foreign policy. Palin is going to look like the ignorant fool she is when they debate. It does not matter that she is a woman. Biden has more knowledge in his pinky than she will ever have in her entire life.

    • BlueDolphin

Probably Biden is of the same mindset as Prez Clinton…and realizes that BHO is really bad news for this country !

      I don’t think that is a gaffe.

Yesterday, last night, I saw some repeat news of Prez Clinton on David Letterman last night, and he spoke so well of McCain and why he would understand why people would want to vote for him, what with McCain being a POW and having gotten out of there alive, when he could as well have died as a POW and then, Prez Clinton said he could also understand why some might want to vote the other way….(AND HE NEVER MENTIONED Obama’s name !)

Chris Rock came on and literally blew a gasket wondering why Prez Clinton couldn’t mention Obama’s name in that Letterman show!

You need to check it out on the net…but the way Prez Clinton spoke about McCain, one could ONLY REALIZE that Prez Clinton was encouraging the viewer audience to VOTE FOR MCCAIN…which means that he was encouraging any PUMAS and Hillary supporters who were not sure which way the wind should blow, at that point, to feel encouraged in voting for McCain.

Prez Clinton literally, gave a quiet endorsement for McCain, and didn’t even mention Obama’s name in that entire spiel.

      PUMA!

  • Jensen T

BO is bullshit. No qualifications (his time in harvard is fake), no experience, no track record (of change). • K. Wynne

Governor Palin recognized Senator Clinton’s wise analysis of the Iran situation in her speech.

By her openly recognizing a democrat and stating that she and Senator McCain agree with that democratic senator is very telling. It speaks volumes to the fact that she is respect by both Palin and McCain. It’s a signal that they would welcome Hillary to work with them to solve America’s problems and would be acknowledged and respected for her contributions.

Something she would never get from obama and his minions.

There is a great story in of all places, the Washington Post, about what the rescue means.

I estimate the average price of distressed mortgages that pass from “troubled financial institutions” to the Treasury at auction will be 65 cents on the dollar, representing a loss of one-third of the original purchase price to the seller, and a prospective yield of 10 to 15 percent to the Treasury. Financed at 3 to 4 percent via the sale of Treasury bonds, the Treasury will therefore be in a position to earn a positive carry or yield spread of at least 7 to 8 percent.

$700 billion to bankers, when there was no money for infrastructure, no money for veterans, no money for decent stock for our troops, no money for health care and no money for education.

Does that make you proud, Johnny currently in work?

It kind of bothers me more that we had a majority of democrats in congress these past two years and all this crap started just about two years ago.

        • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

Congress holds the purse strings. It was Congressional Dems who blocked the legislation that would have staved off this financial crisis. They were the ones who benefited the most from campaign kickbacks from Fannie and Freddi. Namely, Obama, Dodd and Kerry.

Get some new talking points for this week. Jaysus, it’s already Wednesday and you’re repeating last week’s lies.

      • Phil Murphy

Johnny must not be reading anything since Shelby on the Dodd committee is saying the same things. The most vociferous people against a bailout are the republicans – not far behind the democrats.

As to who gets money – funny that McCain has lied about those that got money from Wall Street, when the boomerang hit him this morning with the news that His own Rick Davis was on the payroll of Fannie Mae as late as last month.

Its a bitter pill, but you better swallow it. Phil Gramm, who called America “a nation of whiners” – on the take from UBS, and Rick Davis – on the take from Fannie Mae.

Now Obama has never denied that he had advisers that worked for Wall Street. But McCain has repeatedly. If you want to keep your blinders on fine, but the truth is out there if you care to look.

And btw, the new Washpo/ABC poll out has Obama at 52-43 over McCain.

I agree with you Phil. The hypocracy would be funny if the stakes were not so important. These people don’t need blinders and they certainly don’t want the truth, they are rethugs.

McCain is a liar. Now that this Fannie Mae stuff is coming out, he is limiting access to him as well as Palin. Makes you wonder what they have to hide.

        • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

The New York Times from September 11, 2003.

The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.

The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.

The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt — is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates.

”There is a general recognition that the supervisory system for housing-related government-sponsored enterprises neither has the tools, nor the stature, to deal effectively with the current size, complexity and importance of these enterprises,” Treasury Secretary John W. Snow told the House Financial Services Committee in an appearance with Housing Secretary Mel Martinez, who also backed the plan.

Mr. Snow said that Congress should eliminate the power of the president to appoint directors to the companies, a sign that the administration is less concerned about the perks of patronage than it is about the potential political problems associated with any new difficulties arising at the companies.

The administration’s proposal, which was endorsed in large part today by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, would not repeal the significant government subsidies granted to the two companies. And it does not alter the implicit guarantee that Washington will bail the companies out if they run into financial difficulty; that perception enables them to issue debt at significantly lower rates than their competitors. Nor would it remove the companies’ exemptions from taxes and antifraud provisions of federal securities laws.

Despite the attempt to curb the waste, fraud, and abuse, some Democrats were not on board. Barney Frank really looks like a genius on this one. And this guy was the ranking member on the Financial Services Committee.

Among the groups denouncing the proposal today were the National Association of Home Builders and Congressional Democrats who fear that tighter regulation of the companies could sharply reduce their commitment to financing low-income and affordable housing.

”These two entities — Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — are not facing any kind of financial crisis,” said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ”The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”

Representative Melvin L. Watt, Democrat of North Carolina, agreed.

”I don’t see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing,” Mr. Watt said.

Yeah we need more stuff taken over and managed by the Federal Government. Those guys are really good at finance and mortages. Maybe when Obama wins he can make Franklin Raines the Treasury Secretary. That would sure be a change. Let’s bring crime, corruption, and mismanagement to the Cabinet level.

        • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

Rick Davis was on the payroll of Fannie Mae as late as last month.

That is TOTAL BULLSHIT pushed by Obama and his MSM.

The company that Davis worked for got that money, and Davis has not worked that company since 2006.

The money went to employees of the company, and should Davis return to that company, the Freddie Mac payments will have long been distributed and he will not see a dime.

Save the lies for your MOMMA troll.

          • Phil Murphy

            Dude – Its Davis’ company.

    • JML

Not a surprise if Obama wants the economy to stay mangled if he thinks it’ll help his chances. After all, this is the same guy who tried to intervene in U.S.-Iraqi troop drawdowns.

The guy plain and simple does not care about his fellow countrymen and women, does not care about democracy and does not care about anything except himself.

And to stay on-topic, sorta, thanks to the OP for posting the speech. Sarah Palin and John McCain care about what’s best for America, Americans, and democracy throughout the world. Granted, I may not agree with their views of “what’s best,” but at least they are properly motivated, unlike Obama.

      • JML

Sorry, this was supposed to be a reply to “Johnny at Work,” above, who said: … DEMS are Stonewalling it, because the perception is that a bad economy helps Obambi.

    • No way No Mccain

The MSM is not making Obama look like anything. Boy are you people paranoid.

This is not and should not be about politics. This is about the U.S.

How much money McCain and Obama have both taken from Wall Street does not matter. What matters is how are we going to stop this, if we can? Does is matter that McCain has taken less than Obama? No, because they both have done it.

What matter are the harder questions. Is this really a crisis or isn’t it?

  • fred

The media campaigns hard for Obama ,the pollsters manipulate the polls for Obama. Thank god the people we will decided this election. McCain will win FL and OH, but to seal the deal he needs to win PA and/or Michigan which all indications says he can. Make calls for McCain in those 2 states and we can show the media we the people are still the deciders

Why do people believe that if you dont support Obama than your not a “real” Clinton supporter? I dont know but calling me racist (and i am black), threatning me, and all other over the top remarks…hope you die etc etc (see utube comments).

In my opinion with 41 days to election…alot of people, my family included dont like seeing people literally lose there minds making comments about how I should be “attacked” just because I dont support Obama. That whole “get in your neighbors face comment” added fuel to the fire. You wouldnt believe some of the comments I had to delete Obama supporters sent me. I had people sending me messages asking me to delete them because it bothered THEM to read that kind of hate.

    • benny

You’re right, soldier. Obama’s supporters have fostered so much hate. They try and categorise you just cause you’re black. sad, but true. We’ve never had such a divisive candidate ever.

    • wodiej

I don’t know why they think all of that nastiness will get people to support Obama.

They don’t. They consider themselves the superior, enlightened people and that the inferior folk (everybody who hasn’t drunk the Kool-Ade) deserve all the lies and derision that they can dish out.

          • No way No Mccain

Yes a vote for McCain means a superior intellect? There is already a group out there with that mantra. I think you know which one that is.

The McCain supporters are the ones that have drunk the koolaid. No amount of trying to convince yourself that McCain is different from Bush will work so resort to unintelligent posts. Too funny.

    • PhxNickD

this is what Obama calls Unity

    • Independently Minded

Hey Patsy! I think you’re great! First, I would like to say that I get why African Americcans are supporting Obama in record numbers. When they see him, they see someone that looks like them looking back at them. Of course, they are more comfortable with that. It is completely understandable. They automatically think that he understands their needs, concerns, fears, and desires because he is black, too. But I am almost certain he does not. I believe Obama to be an opportunist. When he looks at a human being he sees an opportunity, the way to get to the next rung on the ladder. He is always wondering what is this person going to do for me. He looks at any given situation and wonders what he is going to get out of it. How will this benefit him. He does not have the heart of a public servent. Hillary Clinton has the heart of a pubic servant, I have no doubt. Her entire life shows me what she is about. Obama shows me nothing. I truly think it will not be a benefit to African Americans should he be elected president. I think he will do them a great disservice. The president is supposed to be the president of us all no matter our color, religion, level of education or station in life. I don’t think Obama will be able to be that kind of president. I don’t think he really cares about anyone or anything other than himself or his own aspirations. He has almost no qualifications for the job. His campaign has resorted to hate mongering and lies in order to smear McCain and gain support. I wish it were different. If Obama was the right kind of person, it would be wonderful thing for him to be elected president, not just for African Americans and the United States but for the entire world. I am sad to say that Obama is not the right person.

      • Independently Minded

        Sorry, I mispelled Americans.

They don’t really believe that. These assholes are on a mission from God. They will say or do anything to win and believe the ends justify the means.

  • Anonymus

I am very worred about today’s polls and the intrade chances of Obama’s victory going up (I am not a troll). What worries me is the fact that the Congressional Democrats will rather see a financial meltdown than have Obama lose. McCain needs a game-changer fast!

    • Docelder

      • Anonymus

        • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

You’re a special kind of troll, a concern troll. I have been watching the polls, too. They are stable and to be expected. McCain lost his bounce when the financial crisis hit. Dems are seen as strong on the economy, but Obama wants to raise taxes on everyone, so he’s not doing that well right now. The debates are the next gamechanger.

    • Jackie

This is the truth. Pelosi & Reid would rather see the USA fail than Obama lose.

      What a perverse situation.

I am thinking about sitting outside NMC here in DC with posters for a while to see if I can get it on the news.

    • Ex-Puma

Worry all you want. It is the end of the road for Republicans. We will be able to sleep more soundly in January, once Obama wins in November.

      • kgirl1028

Contrary to popular, arrogent, snobbish belief there are creatures of politics worse than republicans. Americans have been so cushioned all their lives they dont’ believe it.

      • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

The Dems have failed in everything they set out to do in 2006 when they gained control of Congress, and they are losing this election, too. That’s because the only thing Reid and Pelosi have put any effort into is pushing Obama on the American voting public. And we’re all about sick of Teleprompter Jesus now.

Let’s recap the past two years, since Obama was part of this Congress. Not only did Democrats fail to achieve their broad policy goals, they failed on almost every specific goal they set in 2006. They failed to stop funding the Iraq war, they failed to impeach George Bush, and they surrendered on energy policy. Their only policy goal achieved — an increase in the minimum wage — came in a war-funding bill.

Even Bush looks better to most Americans than any Congressional Democrat, because all you’ve done is lay down and roll over for the Republicans. You are weak, childish and irresponsible, way too much so to be trusted with a government trifecta. You will lose. You will lose big, and I am going to laugh so hard.

  • fred

soldier4hillary. you’re not alone, but the one good thing about us in FL is that many black Floridians are not for Obama,we see thorough him. Obama will lose Florida about 18% of blacks are voting McCain and the majority of Hispanic’s so McCain wins Florida.

    • wodiej

thanks for letting us know what is going on in Florida. That is why polls are not reliable. With all of the biased media, they are just trying to paint a false picture of winning like the fake Presidential seal etc.

Fred – Where did you get your statistics? Here are the ones I just pulled from the Florida Times Union: The Research 2000 Florida Poll was conducted from September 15 through September 18, 2008. A total of 600 likely voters who vote regularly in state elections were interviewed statewide by telephone.

      PRESIDENTIAL RACE:

check this out ladies and gentleman.

Seems like Iran is shipping nukes to africa. Hmmm what unpatriotic, person in the race, has ties in africa, hands out with terroist, receives donations from hamos, has friends who stands on top of flags…As the days go buy, and the polls continue to lie, I trust obama less, and less. It’s sounds paranoid, but I know for a certainty something is seriously wrong with obama, the way i knew Bush was warned about 9/11 and did nothing, and that he was lying through his teeth about Iraq. And since the media seems hell bent on us not finding out anything about mr obama, the imagination runs wild. Truthfully due to our current problems, Barak is not a candidate I think anybody with in kind of sense, should take a chance on. there is just way tooo much we don’t know about him. Just think of him like another one of those no down payment ballooning mortgages that banks were forced to give to give out. He’s far to risky, and Americans should think twice about taking him at face value. Personally I think that Independents and pissed of democrats, should really think twice about voting for Obama and demand more information. if there lack of common sense railroaded us into this latest crisis, why should we trust their judgement about obama? It really is that simple, if they won’t provide us with an in depth study into the real obama, then we should vote for the candidate we actually know. John McCain.

    http://www.floppingaces.net/2008/09/24/iran-caught-smuggling-chem-weapons-to-africa/

    • Phil Murphy

kgirl – Now talk about racism. I really dont think you are black. No black woman I know would ever make a boneheaded statement like “Hmmm what unpatriotic, person in the race, has ties in africa, hands out with terroist, receives donations from hamos, has friends who stands on top of flags”

You are a fraud. I can see a black person being against obama, but to use the “has ties to africa” statement just told me that you are not black.

And it fits. Another story is out today in Salon about the McCain campaign hiring ghostwriters to get articles into papers across America.

Everyone here will attack the writer of the story as opposed to the facts. If it is anti McCain it must be a lie. Dilusional.

      • kgirl1028

Really, now that makes you racist. What? are all african americans supposed to hate our country, are we so stupid that we don’t see that there are factors other than race and liberal ideology. truthfully I don’t think the reason you can fathom what i’m talking about is because your parents aren’t black and lived in the segregated south. See I understand my rights are precious, and that they were earned by people being hosed down, bitten by dogs, and beaten with billy clubs wrapped in bob wire, so i could have them. And when someone screws with my vote, I find that very offensive. blacks in the south did not really received status as American citizens until about 40 years ago. We didn’t get fair trials we got hung. We were treated like lab rats, people would dig us up even when we were dead, so that medical students could perform autopsies, and then they wouldn’t respect us enough to put us back in the ground, they just dumped us. check out what was found underneath the university of georgia medical building when it was raised.

So when you understand that you don’t like it when some fascist white person decides they know better than you do and cancel out our votes and pick who they want too. that’s the equivalent of turning my grandmother away from a voting booth because she didn’t know what a big word meant. Contrary to popular belief not all black parents teach their children to stew in the hatred of a country that mistreated you, some teach you to work hard, do your best, be humble, and realize that life is not fair, but that doesn’t impede you from being fair to others. and you can’t comprehend, is that I am black person that does not need or want you help or approval. what I want is for you to nominate the candidate that i and majority of the people in our party voted for. not sit on your mighty Caucasian throne and give me a black candidate thinking it is going to placate me, especially when i stayed awake in government class and actually learned that the executive branch is about decision making and creating policy, and this requires wisdom and experience. See when you gave obama that nomination, you didn’t do anything wonderful, actually you insult us. obama should be able to jump the hurtles whites candidates have to go through to be president. But you treated him like he was handicapped, and now you want me to stand in awe of you and your little puppet candidate that i know nothing about, and go in a voting booth and vote for someone who would have let my grandmother freeze to death so he and Michelle could have dream house. Or someone who would take money from teachers that make six figure salaries but won’t give black inner city kids more than a four or five hour school day. And I’m not even going to go into how you have treated Palin and Hillary Clinton. patriotism is understanding that in order for you to succeed your country has to as well. And when you vote for a man with no experience, whom you know nothing about, you are taking a chance with all of our lives, not just you own. in order for me to be able to hurl insults at you, my belly has to be filled or there wise i’m back to scavenging for food. and what you obama bots have done, is to set our country on a path to destruction, just like republicans were so quick to do it behind fictitious weapons of mass distruction. so feel proud. you have encouraged unity. Just like 9/11 you have together the unity of working class whites, bitter white women, the conservative right, middle class america, black democrats who are waking up and seeing obama for what he not, and uniting behind two mavericks. So thank you very much.

So when you step on my constitutional right to pick my president in speak my mind i’m gong to yell as loud as i can. i will not give up what people like MLK died to give me. And I will not allow you to demean and treat sarah palin and hillary clinton. the way, your ancestors treated mine. I’m better than that. Ben Franklin said ” he who will give a way his freedom for safety deserves neither.” yeah I could go for the safe democratic choice, but when it is so obvious that his man and his followers believe in anything but democracy (majority rules) we must part ways, cause there nothing you can give me that equals my vote and my freedom. Too bad you lack the wisdom to see that.

When my dad was a kid there were signs that said Irishmen and Dogs need not apply.

And ask anyone that knows world history about how the Irish were treated by the British going back to a time before most slaves had set foot on American Story.

Dont look for racism except in your own heart. You see boogeymen everywhere.

It’s that quiet racism that creats things like the Tuskegee institute type foolishness. “we must find out why the negro is such a syphillus soaked race.” ” with out intervention the negro will become extinct.” its insulting bullshit. I don’t need you Phil, never have never will. Barak Obama doesn’t need your help, if he gets to the white house it should be because he’s a special needs kid, it should be because he can run the race. And if he hadn’t set around letting people make excuses for his behind a few years from now he could be kicking ass and taking names.

When you have no way to counter the facts, call people names. So mature and adds so much to the discussion.

          • Phil Murphy

Yeah its funny that way. Race bating, and using race in claims does not work much any more.

Its like I almost need to keep photos of my black cousins, and a few of my best friends, and letters of references from blacks, indians, chinese, vietnamese, and Hmong to prove I’m an AOK non-racist.

But one can be black and racists. They do exist – they judge each other on dark color of skin, and what their names are.

And good lord, if they are a black from another country, then that’s a horse of a different color.

            • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

Oh, yeah. The Obama camp never engages in race-baiting. And how many of my comments have anything whatsoever to do with race? Yet here is Phil=in-the-blank harassing one poster “kgirl1028″ who says she is a black woman, and he can’t stop talking about her race.

    • csuzeq

Obama scares the shit out of me and I am not ashamed to admit it!

It scares me even more that more americans are not scared shitless about Obama!

Did we forget that we were attacked on our soil just 7 years ago? Shouldn’t someone question a little known Senator from IL who knows all kinds of bad people from places like syria, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Iran, etc. Why does no one want to know why that is. Surely it is not his travels when he was young just for kicks and giggles! Why are we so stupid here in this country?

This country is going to be attacked again. It will be no matter whether President McCain or that terrorist dude. It’s just a matter of when. I trust McCain to save us. That terrorist dude will help destroy us.

He should not even be on the ballot. He should be on a terror watch list!

      • No way No Mccain

Here we go with the fear and loathing. Do you even hear what you are saying? McCain is going to save us? Oh my god are you people delusional. When all else fails the rethugs bring up 9/11.

People are always scared of the unknown. I would rather have Obama than 4 more years of Bush. I know that is scarier than Obama could ever be. An American on the terrorist watch list? That has been done before and with no representation under a republican administration. Yes you should be scared of McCain/Palin.
We are stupid for voting for another rethug and more of the same crap we have had for the last 8 years. I guess you need to be reminded it was the rethugs in charge when we were attacked. McCain was in the Senate, Obama was not. So let’s all hope McCain will save us from another attack. I agree it is a matter of when not if. That is what we live with in a free flowing society. McCain’s rethoric will not change that.

        • Duras

The difference between the two parties is that McCain and the Republicans realize that the danger out there is still very real. Just because we haven’t been hit again in the past seven years doesn’t mean that the bad guys haven’t been trying.

But if it were left up to naive idiots like you and the rest of the Dummycrats, we’d make nice with those who would kill us, stick our heads in the sand, and hope for the best. Only when there’s a muchroom cloud over a major American or European city or perhaps after there are 10,000 dead in a chemical weapons attack would you fools realize how disasteriously wrong you were. But even then, you’d probably find a way to try and pin it on the Republicans. God help us if one of your kind actually wins the White House and is responsible for keeping us safe.

          • No way No Mccain

The dems realize the danger they just don’t let it run our lives. The rethugs have been in control for a long time and this is where we are as a country. ” My kind” is an average american who does not choose to believe the sky is falling. Yes let’s all be very afraid and vote for McCain he will save us. Sounds like a really bad commercial we should expect in the next few weeks.
Yes McCain ad some duct tape ought to do the trick. Ignorant people so amuse me.

            • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

Obama has barely been a US Senator for even one term. He has got so many policy questions wrong throughout this election. He never has any ideas. He never takes a stand. He has no idea what the job responsibilities of the position he is applying for entail. And he not only is endorsed by people who hate this country, but he hangs out with people who hate this country – BY HIS OWN CHOICE. Not guilt by association, but guilt by participation. You have got to be joking.

              • imustprotest

Well said! You could write ad copy for the McCain camp! You’ve said it all in a nutshell!

  • kgirl1028

also a few people might want to jump on these polls, it would be wrong to allow obama what obama did in the caucuses to come back around again. if a large percentage of Hillary Clinotn voters are not voting for Obama, and independents are moving over to McCain how in the heck can his number be up. And with the small crowds obama has been drawing, compared to Palin’s and McCains rally as of less, their is something very not right about this. If media can convince people obama really is ahead they can also influence voter turn out. i’m sorry but I will not allow Obama to rail road McCain and palin the way he did hillary, people should examine everything the press puts out. They have proven time and time again they dont mind covering up obama’s lies.

    • Phil Murphy

So where were you trained Kgirl. They tell you to misspell words here and there, and to pretend to be black.

The polls are polls. Rasmussen, one of the most conservative Pollers, has Obama up 2+ this morning. The same poller has Libby Dole down 7 points. The way I look at polling these days is to use the most conservative poller and trust it about 90 – 95%. Rasmussentreports.com is conservative, but pretty Fair. Also I use realclearpolitics.com – another conservative site.

Dont listen to anyone here with data unless they provide links. Its the number one rule. Otherwise you should trust them zero.

I now assume many here could be operatives for McCain. What better way to spend your day than by keeping the fire going under people that did not want Hillary to lose.

I think being angry is great, but back up that anger by reading the stories that are out there that speak truth to power.

And question posters like Kgirl who imply they are black, but then also question anyone as being racist. I’ve not heard anyone being that sensitive about race since the late sixties.

If I am trolling, I am trolling for myself. I’m a retired, 52 year old professional who loves politics. If you want to see people who really get it right, got to http://www.mclaughlin.com and you can find me and others.

They there know me, my city, etc… Unlike here, we dont assume that people are lurking for campaigns, etc…

But you do have lurkers here. Beware posts that offer no links to substantive news sites. Stories come from real news sites to blogs, and not the other way around.

            Phil,

There are rethug operatives on this site. It has been going on for over a year. Their whole goal has been to try to get all the stories about Obama from the blogs to the MSM. Which will not work. When you can’t back up facts the MSM will not run it. It’s that simple. All this Obama is Hilter and all the other garbage is not factual. Almost everything begins with “evidence suggests”. That’s all you need here. If you do not hate Obama you are called a troll or other juvenile names. They will never go to the facts of a debate but rather reduce themselves to 5 year olds. That’s what the repubs do. When they do not have an argument that will hold up, they call you a troll. I agree with you. My frustration comes from the hypocracy and the willingness to bury their heads in the sand as if the last 8 years never happened.

            • Phil Murphy

No way – Kgirl is an operative for sure. These are the same folks who used to stand in crowds yelling for people to be lynched.

Bottom line though is that most of these sites dont affect that many other people ( in my estimation ). The value of Larry went way down when he tried to influence the polls with his prediction of the Michelle tape.

I’ve been in politics a bit, and have seen the same types over and over. If they cant win straight, they just make up stuff. If you quote a blog that quotes a blog, then where is the truth. As much as people may not like the Times, Washpo, CNN, etc.., they do have more credibility than most of the blogs.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never thought the trolls at NQ were paid agents of the Obama campaign.

I believe the NQ trolls are freelancers, who come here for purely personal, malicious reasons.

They usually drop by whenever they’ve thought of a new insult—or are possessed by the desire to repeat an old insult. It seems unlikely the Obama campaign would hire people to come here and insult us.

      • Duras

“Rasmussen, one of the most conservative pollsters”???

        LOL!!! You’re a moron.

Rasmussen and Gallup are the two organizations who do polling the most and who do NOT serve an organization with a political axe to grind. They also are the best at teasing out biases in their samples and they do all of their polling by computer calling.

But even so, you can’t get an accurate read on what 120,000,000 people are thinking by only polling 3,000. To really get a statistically significant sampling within 1 percentage point either way, you’d need to poll around 20,000 people. Most of the polls from the likes of CBS News and the Washingtonn Post don’t even poll 1,000 people.

    • Phil Murphy

Kgirl – There is zero polling about Hillary Supporters NOT going over to Obama. On the contrary, the latest polling by Washp/ABC has a majority of white women voting for Obama in much greater numbers, which is why he has a 52/43 point lead.

Small crowds for Obama – Not. Wishful thinking. And the only reason there are crowds at all at McCain rallies is the spectacle of Palin. She is a crowd draw, and is the reason why McCain does not campaign alone.

As far as polling, go complain to Rasmussen who has Obama up again 2+.

The problem is not Obama, its the fact that the US Electorate holds the GOP accountable for the current economic crisis by a factor of 2-1.

Spin all you want Kgirl, but the facts and truth are on the side of Obama. Just go googling a bit about Rick Davis and the money he’s been getting every month from Fannie Mae. The Media did not make up this story – they are just reporting it.

      • No way No Mccain

Whatever Phil, you know I may not come back to the party, because it is so obvious, that white liberals in all their shinning sexism, really don’t have a high opinion of blacks either. What Phil are you possessed by a dead dixiecrat? Or are you not as color blind as you and the other bots pretend to be?

i mean you are one step away frome examing the circomfrence of the head of the negro to prove that smaller heads mean low intelligence? Pathetic. Like i said you think you are the only one who what a redherring is.

and the only reason you are slamming us, is because you are scared as hell obama will not win. However I will say this nothing pisses me off more than when other people try to define my “blackness” especially when its a white man “who has a few mix relatives” who does it. You are like the white person at my college who asked me the dumb behind question do black people tan? Jesus, Ethnocentric and stupid.

      • Duras

“Facts and truth are on the side of Obama” huh?

Here’s a few facts for ya, Phil …

FACT: In 2005 John McCain introduced legislation that would have reformed both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. It was blocked by Democrats on the Senate Banking Committee headed by Chris Dodd.

FACT: Since 2004, Barack Obama has received over $1 million in campaign cash from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, AIG, and Bear Stearns. That far outpaces the amount received from these firms by any other senator or congressman during that time.

How’s that for truth? Just because most Americans may be reflexively blaming the Republicans for the mortgage meltdown because Bush is in the White House doesn’t mean that’s what actually happened. McCain will have the chance to call both Obama and the Democrats on the carpet for their incestuous relationship with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac during the upcoming debates and the presss won’t be able to shield him as they’re doing now.

  • http://anvp.typepad.com/soldier4hillary/ soldier4hillary

Thats just like NC. I swear to this day and I dont care what NO ONE says some way some how Obama cheated in NC. Senator Clinton won every single county in NC except the ones with high AA percentages and according to the MSM 80 percent were early voters and why they were able, based on exit polls to call NC for him. Bullshit.

They counted votes twice and a whole lot of other crap that went on. But since the percentage of blacks here was high they automatically assume Obama would win. But I am black and I damn sure didnt vote for him. If they can make the assumption that since 90% of AAs are in NC and that means Obama would win. If they would of said 90% of whites are in NC and Clinton should of won, then everyone would be screaming “racist”.

Anway, I DO NOT believe these poll numbers in NC. . He will not win this state. He will NOT even come CLOSE to winning this state. Your on CRACK if you think Obama is competitive here. The MSM is leading you astray.Bamboozling you, with a side of the Ol Okey Doke.

This state is made up of retired vets and military. The Democratic party through us up under the bus this election. Democratic Surrogates and supporters gave insult after insult. Using words like “crippled warmonger”, saying McCain being tortured wasnt bad.Using fear to invoke emotions by saying if he is elected we will be in body bags. I have heard it ALL.

I may not agree with McCains policies but I know alot of people who fall into the “crippled warmonger” category and I would fight for him and those individuals as hard as I fought for Clinton.

Electing Senator Obama as Commander in Chief goes against EVERYTHING I believe in. The McCain campaign needs to go nuclear on Obama’s ass and unleash those damn ads and 527′s. At this point I only care about this country. They better hit him with everything they got so he will not gain ground. Because if Obama becomes president god help us all. I prefer to not have a president who takes contributions of 23,000 dollars from hamas and friends for “T Shirts”. Or associates that have bombed buildings within the U.S. Associates he was comfortable enough to have parties at there home for his campaign. Or pastors who damn my country, a wife who just became proud of it, and friends who step on and burn flags.

Soldier For Hillary – Polls are polls. Rasmussen has McCain up by two. But what I cant quite figure out is why Libby Dole is down in the polls. She’s a decent politician with great positives – any feedback?

I’ve tended to believe only the more conservative pollsters these days. Not because I dont like to see Obama higher, but because I like to be realistic. Polling can be controlled just be the tone of voice of person polling.

There is no reality to a Rasmussen poll that has Obama up + 2 pts. It is one poll, two days before the big debate. The past week would have favored any Democrat, since they are perceived as strong on the economy. It is telling that the numbers moved so little for Obama. A couple of points is a close gap. And NC will be red. It’s not even a competitive state. Obama is playing with the 2004 Kerry map. The battleground states are the same this year.

    • Independently Minded

Patsy, I think you should be making campaign ads for McCain. I mean, who better to do it? You’re a strong African American woman, who is also a soldier and a patriot. An ad made by you would be priceless. I think you should send the McCain campaign one of your videos. It is worth a try.

    Hillary has real beauty.

What scares me is her stupidity such as threatening war with Russia. She is a bigot who made women pay for rape kits.

As for dangerous associations, her church has a speech on it which says Israel deserves to be bombed because it does not worship Jesus.

That Palin speech has George W. Bush written all over it. It’s designed to play on our fears, stir up anger, and provide an illusion of strength and resolve by way of belligerent statements. It does more harm than good.

Teddy Roosevelt was a much smarter in the ways of effective diplomacy–which presumably we still prefer as an alternative to war: “Speak softly but carry a big stick.” Threats suggest weakness, not strength.

Sarah Palin has a hell of a lot to learn about effective foreign relations. I suspect that–like Bush–she’s tempermentally ill-suited to fully take in the lessons. She seems to have learned nothing from our invasion and occupation of Iraq. Neither she nor her running mate seem to grasp the fact that you can lose wars even while winning on the battlefield.

We’ve imposed some order upon the chaos that we created in Iraq, for example, but now our economy is teetering on the brink, and the continuing occupation is costing us $12 billion a month. The republican response is to become increasingly confrontational with Iran, while looking for a new arms race with Russia. They also want to ignore alternative energy technologies that could free us from the oil dependency that’s at the heart of the matter.

Here’s an off-topic suggestion on that: Maybe we should put our $700 billion into a alternative energy crash development program. Why not let that create thousands of new jobs and stimulate the economy? That way, we’d know for certain that there would be an enormous pay-back.

    • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

Weakening our military is not a big stick. Dems will never win the national security issue. Iran is off their chain, and the only criticism you could find in the speech was invoking Bush. Meanwhile, Sarah Palin never even gave her speech, because Dems threatened the events’ organizers. Obviously, the security of Israel or the rights of women in Iran was not a priority with them. Petty politics trumps everything, even our national security, with the Dems. That’s why you will lose this year, too.

      • ziggy

A fat lot of good all the tough talk does for Israel, or for the women of Iran. All it actually does is harden dysfunctional attitudes at home and abroad, and make the self-righteous conservative right momentarily feel good.

Palin’s speech was a speech better not given. It contained the sort of thinking and language a jackass like Ahmadinejad would find especially useful back home. It just gives him something to play off of. It just strengthens his hand with the Iranian people.

What in recent history has done more to weaken our military strength than the invasion and occupation of Iraq? And what has the war actually accomplished, looking at things entirely from the interests of the United States? From that perspective, we’ve simply removed on of Iran’s greatest rivals from the equation. Now it’s up to us to maintain a balance of power in the region, and we’ve got to foot the bill.

        • Hope Floats! Flush Twice!

This part was particularly inflammatory, and I’m sure they’ll be burning American flags in the street, if it ever gets repeated back home:

    • Duras

“Designed to stir up our fears”?

      GOOD!!! They need stirring up!!!

I can’t believe how complacent some people have gotten since 9/11/01. There are still lots of bad people out there who would like nothing more than to kill as many Americans as they possibly could.

We ignore this fact at our peril.

      • ziggy

I don’t especially like Bill Maher, but I’ll quote him when he hits the nail on the head:

“They don’t hate us for our freedom; they hate us for our airstrikes.”

If we simply took our need for their oil out of the equation, geopolitics would become a very different thing. So would their own fiscal balance sheets. Al Qaeda would dry up and blow away on the next sandstorm.

Obama cannot make a speech without uses someone else words. He has no original thought or ideal therefore he would never be the leader just the order taker

What’s wrong with these trolls? If they are so sure that their Owhat? is going to win… why bother to come here and waste their energy? Is it not silly? Or are they scared to death? BOOOoooooo!!!!!!

They’re completely unsure. Reality is only now starting to dawn on them. They thought everyone was as gullible as they are; that this isn’t the case really pisses them off.

    LIES-LIES LIES-
OBAMA;S ADS ARE NOTHING BUT LIES.

Now he is running yet another false ad saying Pa Saying john mccain took out the job for another companys to come move the bussiness overseas-Obama you are a liar-

Hello Maytag Oabam you sat on that board-where did Maytag go Obama. You are the one is shipping jobs overseas-you are the one who is lying-Hell Obama had to be in court today concerning his birth certificate- well a motion was file to dismisses Phil claims-A motion will be file to have it go on to prove Obama bc is a fake-

The thing is if Obama’s birth certificate is real or Obama is a U.S Citezen would you not think Obama and his attorneys would have settle that today as to bring in the proff? No Obama did not do that-They just file a motion-Now why didn’t Obama want to clear this up in court today? Why dod he not want to clear it up when it first came out? Cause Obama is not a citenzen! Period.

Obama what are you hideing? Why didn’t you want to clear this up in court today? no again you are running from it. Phil will have it back in court with all the documents more against Obama.

It just goes to show Obama is running from showing anything-I see no reason why Obama would not want to clear this up.John McCain did when Obama camp tried to say he wasn’t.McCain step up fast-It’s been how long now and even in court today Obama did not want to clear it up.

    NOOBAMA EVER!
