i for one wish obama was half what his press pretends he is. i have no problem with the color of skin. i have a problem with throwing it in my face 24/7 and calling me names. i don't like obama's policies, positions, or his personality. i don't like his resume, his wife or the way he practices a faith based on hated and race. race is obama's problem not ours in this race. and we are giving it back to him to nuture with care the way he has for many years. we are moving on, bambi.

Oh, excellent point, 'hill'; just call me
Bubbette. I fall into most of the anti-Obama
demographics: white, senior, from working-class roots, America-lovin, meat-eatin, instant-coffee drinkin rube. (And I have never eaten
ragula, ruggla, ralgua--whatever!)

But wait! I support with my contributions:
alternative news outlets, poor native Indian and
Appalacian children, The Southern Poverty Law Center for equality and justice for ALL people; I have joined People for the American Way and
NARAL and Amnesty International and the most hated of all liberal organizations, the ACLU.
Not all at once and sometimes with expired membership, but hey, no one is perfect!

So what does that make me, pundits? Must be some kind of schizoid with issues. Yes I have issues with Barack. I don't like him now, yesterday or tomorrow. And it is less about the color of his skin as the content of his character--or lack thereof.

Gender, race, sexuality - three non-issues - not the reasons anyone should vote for or against a candidate. It is an abomination that the Obama people have twisted this into a referendum on race. There are many reasons one does not vote for a particular candidate, mostly about experience and feeling they are ready to fill the job. The Obama people want to criticize Sarah Palin who is a governor and has not been around as long as Biden. Yet for the very same reason many people do not want Obama as president, he has not been around as long as McCain. If Obama-maniacs want to convince themselves it is because of race, go ahead. This in-your face race-baiting and attempts at guilting people into voting for him (isn't that how they got almost 90% of african americans to vote for him in the primary?) is not how to win some friends and influence others. Many of us are still not impressed and will not be intimidated into voting for him.

I found it interesting that in an interview on FNC last month even Al Sharpton dismissed the claims that white racism would have any real effect on voting in this election. Coming from a man who by all other evidence seems to hate white people, the statement was remarkable.

One thing is certain though. When this election is over, it is time to retire the "racist" jersey, & all just go back to being Americans. No more, no less.

Yes, scary.

0bama is <em>so </em>messing with these kids heads.

He tapped into the feelings of intense malcontentment within the black community. He knows there is still a strain of a misguided, romantic delusion that a <em>Black Revolution </em>is what will end racism and free blacks in this country. It's a 1960s mindset when there was a time where socio/economic conditions in this country were abysmal for AAs.

But things have changed.

Yes, racism exists. But it's more entrenched in an institutional framework. Also, what many poor/uneducated AAs don't realize is the way in which black politicians, the black educated elite, the ultra-liberal radical left have sold their interests down the river on many occasions in order to advance their own political agendas.

One of the reasons I rejected feminism was because of the way in which educated upper middle class women exploited the ignorance of poor black women by indulging the mindset that the government cannot legislate morality. And as a result, many minority women took that as a greenlight to have more children than they could take care of. Wherein these same educated white women would never think of bearing more children than they could afford. And do it without the benefit of marriage... perish the thought!

Although I agree on an ideological level that the government should not try to dictate morality, there is a difference between agreeing with an ideology and knowing to what extent to actualize it into your own life.

And this is where black leadership failed. It became clear when Reagan took office, that there was a growing backlash against the trend of single parenting, and teen pregancy in particular, within minority communities. And that many white tax-paying citizens had begun to bristle at picking up the tab for welfare. But any discussion of this always was shot down with statistics like: more whites get welfare than blacks. Which gave the perception that a white racist gov't was picking on blacks and hispanics.

Not mentioned was that whites making up a larger percentage of the population would of course outnumber blacks in this instance. But even more important is this: what did it matter? The urban black community was in shambles.

The crack epidemic in the 80s along with rising crime and greater numbers of AA males being incarcerated as well as the growing number of high school drop-outs, clearly showed that single-parenting was at least in some part responsible for the condition many blacks were finding themselves in.

In the 90s, as more and more blacks became visible in media and in politics, this became evidence that crucial racial barriers were breaking and that it was possible for AAs to achieve incredible success. Naturally, it was hard not to point the finger and ask for accountability on some level. Enter Bill Clinton's Welfare Reform.

But the left, the radical black thinking is stubborn and resisitant. And this is what 0bama is counting on even though he never utters a word.

He represents to black people this mindset:

<blockquote>
"...Obama’s candidacy will change the way blacks think about themselves, and nearly all who feel this way say it’ll be for the better."</blockquote>

What is painful about this belief is this: No one can give you self-esteem. That's something you have to earn for yourself!

If we've learned nothing, we should all be aware of the colossal failure of this kind of thinking within our public school system. Where educators are convinced that it is their job to give self-esteem to students. It simply doesn't work. And in more cases than not, kids wind up being depressed and unhappy.

This is what will happen in the AA community should 0bama get elected. It will become apparent that 0bama has very little connection to what is going on in our community. He was insulated from the true black experience having spent 4 years in Indonesia, then on to the island paradise of the state of Hawaii where people of color dominate. He had a privileged education and immediately upon graduating he methodically and successfully charted his course to the presidency. And with very little obstacle or rejection due to race. For the most part, he's been accepted.

The only failure in his adult life was his loss in the race for Congress against a true-blue AA, and former Black Panther, Bobby Rush. A loss he certainly could not blame on racism.

In effect, 0bama has bamboozled and hoodwinked everyone. And the msm has let him get away with.

This is why as an AA I don't support 0bama. My self-esteem as a human-being is in it's proper place. Does that mean I don't recognize racism? Of course, I do. But that is someone else's issue, not mine. I accept gracefully that there are people who will never like me because of the color of my skin. That is their loss. But I also accept that more and more people could frankly care less. And they dominate our country right now. The true racists are <em>back there</em>.

To be honest, it's been that way for a very long time. I find it sad that so many AAs need personal approbation and acceptance from whites. I don't consider that a position of strength.

And I'll give people a hint:

0bama's gotten as far as he has because he doesn't consider it a position of strength either. Trust me, 0bama does not need or want your approbation. He just wants your votes. And if he has to guilt you out of them, so be it.

0bama's only manipulating human nature and the years of guilt that many white Americans still have over the stain of slavery.

Don't buy 0bama's bull that by electing him this will absolve your guilt. The only way to do that is to actually <em>work </em>at it in your own personal life. What matters is what you <strong>do </strong>day in and day out because actions always speak louder than words and actions don't need a teleprompter.

has anyone investigated?

Has anyone refuted her claim that someone told her that his/her son was forced to get rid of bodies of people that were shot and killed during hurricane katrina?

A claim that has supposidly been suppported by Red Cross workers?

We need to be very careful about jumping to conclusions.

Look at McKinney's record. This woman is no lunatic...

Watching the GOP's efforts this election makes it clear to me they have no intention of winning. Obama is being allowed to walk free from his highly questionable past, while the Republicans sit fairly idle on the matter.

This is NOT like the GOP at all - they are handing this election to the fraud Obama.

The media and politicians are not understanding that Americans are sick to death of the corruption and lies that both media and the politicians are shoving down out throats.

To have someone like Palin look you in the eye and tell you like it is--no bullshit--is mana from heaven. Washington needs to be cleaned out. People like Barney Frank and Pelosi need to go. Now!

The low information latte liberals who are inclined to lean towards radicalism, think it's cool to have a black president at any cost. This is not the time to pick an empty headed hustler (obama). They have no idea why everyone doesn't want just any black person for Prez. To them anyone will do as along as the skin color is dark. When the hell are we going to get past the color of skin?! It's just skin color. What about the person? No, latte liberals don't care about America. They only care about being cool. When their pocketbooks start to suffer they'll come around.

I love stepping. Obama Youth movement is not stepping. He is teaching youth to kiss his ass as leader of some dumb movement that does not include white people.

The black liberation movement believes that Obama is the Messiah and that blacks are going to rise up and rule. He is the "One" they have been waiting for.
