This new material at “Fight the Smears” displays arrogance, hubris and bad faith, in my opinion. It is the Senator’s reaction to Phillip Berg’s Law Suit, and, basically, it amounts to an open admission of mens rea. He is flaunting his bad faith and in so doing destroys his own case.

I don’t mean to offend anyone, but Biden has developed a reputation of being an alcoholic, which can cause brain damage. He’s also had two brain aneurysms, and the treatment was no doubt surgery–in his brain.

I think he might be brain damaged.

I watch the way he acts and I think he’s weird.

He also has a tendency to get very carried away, especially when he recieves applause. (Goes off script, says outlandish things, voice gets very loud, and his face looks really mean when he gets excited.) Biden is also a mega liar and panderer.

Let Biden debate Obama tonight — that would be good for a few laughs and it keeps Obama out of Washington where he is clueless about the financial crisis. Everyone knows Obama prefers to talk rather than work.

The Democrats like to talk about McCain dying and Palin becoming president even though Palin would be a much better president than Obama. But Biden is not much younger than McCain so it may be more likely that one day Obama ODs and the next day Biden keels over from booze so we get stuck with Pelosi.

But it would be fitting if Obama got up in the debate and said “Who am I and why am I here?”

No clean coal in Tehran or terrible ads in 1929 on Roosevelt’s TV, so stand up AIG paralyzed person, have some Indian Dunkin’ Donuts, but only if you are clean and articulate and without a PhD, because that can be a problem, even though I have the highest IQ…the Vill–ahh–ges! Speaking of Villages, it takes a village, and Hillary is more qualified; get me a beer, my head hurts.

You know, I watched this Brit Hume “grapevine” segment on TV, and guess who came on right afterward? Obama! Obama said, “I was enjoying listening to your report.”

Oh, and Hume was like, “Uhm, if negotiations can’t be worked out for a few days, do you really think it’s appropriate to go to Miss for a foreign affairs debate?” Obama was a lot more cautious sounding than earlier when he was like, I can do two things at once and if they need me they’ll call me. Maybe even Obama is figuring out it’s serious.

I do want McCain to go to the debate though. Maybe a 1/3 of the debate can involve the economy, like Clinton suggested…dunno.

I’m in agreement with Kat, I think Biden has a drinking problem, but I think some of these memory problems have to due with his earlier aneurysms. Although as far back as I can remember whenever I’ve heard him talk he’s always liked to expand upon a story or change it around to make it a little bit more exciting. I got a fish this big , when in reality is was more like .

Ok, and we all know Jodie Evans of Code Pink has met with Hugo Chavez, and there are pictures of her smiling with him online (along with Cindy Sheehan).

Biden is playing a game that serves the US no purpose. If Bush has any diplomatic contact with Iran, Biden will call him a hypocrite. If there is no contact, Biden will instead say that the policy is not working. All that chatter does is make things tougher for both Iran and Bush.

If he and the Democrats wanted to take the partisan hat off for a second, the answer’s actually obvious. You have some low-level contacts and see if Iran is willing to soften its stance, and if so then you can start the higher level talks to normalize relations. This is exactly how it worked with countries like Vietnam and Libya. Where Obama gets criticized, and rightly so, is that you don’t offer Iran high-level talks, especially face to face meetings with the President, when they haven’t done anything to deserve it and it doesn’t look like anything would be accomplished.

If you think Biden is dumb, check out Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. In this video, he goes on for about 5 minutes insisting that paying taxes is “voluntary”.

I think a better debate would be Obama debating himself. He could debate himself on his various Iraq positions, his change of heart on public financing of campaigns, why or why not NAFTA would be instructive, his various positions on FISA and privacy. This is a good list for starters.

Thank you for this update; since we have about a month left before the election I had been wondering what was happening in the court case because GWB is positive proof that it is much harder to get an unqualified president out of office than it is to get him in.

Those of us who still believe in a democracy protected by a vigilant free press would like to know why we still think we have a democracy when the news blackout about only one candidate is more complete than the media blackout imposed during World War II.

The only question is WHY? I am a PUMA and I am also a Democrat, so you are correct on that statement. But as a Democrat and a person with morals, I do not bash someone just because they are a Republican. Makes you pretty much in the same category as an Obamabot kool-aide drinker. A person should or should not be bashed simply because of the party, race, religion, etc. that they belong to. People like you who bash someone just because they are a Republican give people like me a bad name. Thank you for your comment. I have been thinking the same thing. I have a dear friend who suffered an aneurysm and there have been some long term side effects. She is unable to remember somethings that as a Mastered Degreed person she was able to perform with ease. Biden has gotten by with saying things that are seen as “cute” or “that’s just Joe” or hearing people say “you never know what Joe will say”. My feeling about the last comment is neither does he, because there some things he may not be aware of what or how they are sounding due to the aneurysms.
