    ambinder tells us why the obamapress kept up the ‘A Deal Was Reached’ headlines all day:
    John McCain’s vow to return to Washington and get this mess settled out has lit a fire under the behinds of Democratic negotiators who worry that his presence will suspend their negotiations, give House Republicans a figure to rally around in opposition to a compromise, and generally weaken their negotiation position.

    That’s why they’re scrambling to have a compromise in place before the 4:00 pm ET meeting with President Bush at the White House. If they do, then they only need worry about McCain’s claiming credit for the sense of urgency, which would be inaccurate but hard to disprove.

    Doesn’t this chick who called in not know that the U.S. Naval Academy (academy as in academics) is a college???????????? Goes to show how smart those Obama supporters really are.

    did she really say that he KKK was formed 40 years ago? I’m just listening to the broad cast and i’m wondering what in the heck she is thinking. She says McCain can grasp Ericson and Freud, but it seems she can’t grasp American history. The Klan has been around since the Reconstructive era, Klans men terrorized Malcolm X’s family when he as a small child. Sigh.

    I would also like to say, that my grandmother never graduated from high school, and all the things I know about life, and how to treat people, I learned from her. I am not half the woman she is even though i have been to and graduated from colllege, and probably have read many more book than she.

    oh yeah, people make sure your kids study history, Democrats were the party of pro slavory in the 1800′s not the Republicans, Strom Thurman, was the indivdiual that marched southern democrats over to the repulican party. So racism is in the democrats gene pool just as well as the republicans.
