That's probably why it failed. They snuck the Acorn deal in there under their affiliate names. They do need a team of people to oversee these funds. 1 or 2 credentialed overseers are not going to cut it. It's back to the drawing board again.
Revise, Revamp. This time they need to remove 150 billion and Acorn. They have to bend and remove that. They have to pass a bill. Pelosi needs to be compliant to the wishes of congress. We <strong>need quick </strong>answers and not just any answer will do. <em>550 billion max is all they should get and require additional overseers with yearly auditors and the removal of Acorn under the guise of their affiliate companies.</em>
2 more large banks are about to go. Soviergn and National City. The bubble is popping. They should not wait until Thursday. They need to continue to rework the bill.

I'm a Libertarian and like hell they make up the Obama crowd. The modern US Libertarian Party was founded after the disgruntlement of the GOP and Demcratic Parties forget their foundations.

Paint your self in a corner all you want.

The Libertarian Party is hard at work promoting Bob Barr for US President, not Obama.

If an independent conservative may beg your leave to post here:

I don't believe in the concept of "red" or "blue" states. That’s a false construct created by those who would divide (and conquer) us. I DO believe that there are areas where political manipulator—
fascists and authoritarians, left and right—have duped enough people into following them and supporting them to give them undeserved political and economic power. I also believe that there are areas/regions of this nation in which they will never succeed in doing so, and that will lead to their eventual downfall.

A famous quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln reads, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time." My codicil to that is, "You can't fool enough of the people enough of the time. If you try, sooner or later you’ll end up as the fool."

If the worst happens, I beg of you—don't leave the nation. Just leave the strongholds of this misnamed “New Democratic Party” and find a friendly spot where you'll be safe for as long as it takes for all of us to come together to correct things. Those of us who live in such spots will welcome all of you, true Democrats, Independents, Republicans, and Libertarians alike, and all races and creeds alike. Don't allow the tactics of fear, hate, and divisiveness to defeat you, to make you despair, to drive you from your homeland, to succeed in dividing you from your fellow Americans. Refuse to be persuaded you that your countryman is evil and demented just because some of his political beliefs differ from yours. We Americans are far more alike than unalike; our diversities, when properly understood, actually make us stronger, not weaker.

Those who wish one political philosophy to permanently triumph over the other are, at best, shortsighted. Our system requires the dynamic tension of at least two strong political parties in order to function properly. In my lifetime, I’ve participated in and have been a member of both major political parties, and I’ve seen the fringes of those parties hijack them more than once. It never lasts. True Democrats are going to have to stay here in order to rebuild their party. It is necessary to the survival of this nation, just as the true Republican Party is necessary. The names may change, a third party may emerge, but in the end, the true nature of American political consensus will triumph.

The heart of America still beats even in the so-called “blue” states, and it is still strong, but nowhere is it stronger than here in "flyover country." Those who have corrupted the system—right and left, the media giants and the robber barons, the racists and the race hustlers, the fascists and the authoritarians—view the people of the heartland with contempt, just as the so-called “New Democratic Party” views the millions of voters who supported Sen. Clinton in the primaries, and indeed, the way it views all Americans. Believe me—that contempt, that failure of estimation, that lack of understanding, will be its downfall.

No matter what happens, never forget what it means to be an American.

<blockquote>I Am the People, the Mob
by Carl Sandburg

I am the people—the mob—the crowd—the mass.

Do you know that all the great work of the world is done through me?

I am the workingman, the inventor, the maker of the world's food and clothes.

I am the audience that witnesses history. The Napoleons come from me and the Lincolns. They die. And then I send forth more Napoleons and Lincolns.

I am the seed ground. I am a prairie that will stand for much plowing. Terrible storms pass over me.

I forget. The best of me is sucked out and wasted.

I forget. Everything but Death comes to me and makes me work and give up what I have. And I forget.

Sometimes I growl, shake myself and spatter a few red drops for history to remember. Then—I forget.

When I, the People, learn to remember, when I, the People, use the lessons of yesterday and no longer forget who robbed me last year, who played me for a fool—then there will be no speaker in all the world say the name: "The People," with any fleck of a sneer in his voice or any far-off smile of derision.

The mob—the crowd—the mass—will arrive then.
</blockquote>

THANK-YOU. Obama's Fraud bill had nothing to do with Regulating Fannie & Freddie the core problem of this mess in the financial market.

It was going to entrust the Fox, ACORN, with helping to regulate mortgage fraud. Dear Lord this is a mess.

And it give legitimacy to a fundamentally corrupt organization (other than Congress).

It would not have helped and the fact that Oblowme claims he was on top of this issue is an unmitigated LIE!

I don't get it! Doesn't CNN and MSNBC want ratings? Just think of the ratings of they tell the truth about barky!

<blockquote>International banking regulators converged on Amsterdam and scheduled a news briefing for Monday.</blockquote>

OMG The plot thickens. You can go to C-Span and watch Pelosi, Reid, Franks, and Dodd talk like they are responsible for a new bill and Bush is to blame. Pelosi taking much of the credit for what I see are McCains plan. Man she is trying to cover her crooked tracks.

I'm appauled, but not surprised that our Government is so inept with money that it's not surprising their publications [in dire need of LaTeX/TeX/XeTeX] are unfit for publication to any professional/academic standard.

I urge people to download the old bills from the days of the Founders and look at those publications. They are beautiful in typography, layout and language.

Today's crap looks like they couldn't afford more than a cheap publishing system, even though they do use XML transform it out to generic PDF.

But Section 122 is interesting:

<blockquote>Section 122. Increase in the Statutory Limit on the Public Debt.
Raises the debt ceiling from $10 trillion to $11.3 trillion.</blockquote>

I'm looking forward to seeing how $700 Billion translates to $1.3 Trillion dollars. It must be the fact they agreed to next year's $600 Billion operating budget additions.
