It just shows that Pelosi and Franks did not want the bill passed with ACORN and the other provisions the Republicans needed our to vote yes. They did not look happy the night before when they gave their press conference. Franks especially looked like he has just had a baby rat forced down his throat. He was livid.

This vote was clearly sabotage. They along with Paulson tired to force feed this bill down the throats of Republicans and America and McCain did not allow it. Now they have time to regroup and get a new bill together that will most likely be just as bad if not worse.

Democrtas know that Obama stands to benefit from a bad economy. So they are manupilating this to help him out. Damn Americans and their little investements in the market, the Dems must keep their power and lock it in with Obama at the helm, no matter what.

Just like they manipulated the primary to defeat Hillary, they are playing politics with American’s liveihoods for personal profit and to take Obama over the finish line.

I hope it blows up in their faces big time.

Did anyone notice what was missing from this little analysis? Any reference to the Will of the People, who were demanding that their representatives vote NO. It’s all about ordering our representatives to “fall in line”, making sure they vote the way Pelosi and Reid tells them to; political party orders overriding the voices of the People. And we wonder why we’re in this mess. It’s because they have lost sight of who they are and what their job description is and are more interested in promoting an inexperienced candidate than listening to those with expertise.

After what Karl Rove has done to our country no one should take him at face value no matter how smart he is or how much “inside” information he has because you can’t know if he’s telling the truth or just putting a self-serving spin on it.

Take impeachment off the table. Take the power of the purse strings to the cleaners and continue approving the debt of the war president. Take the jet home to San Francisco for the Jewish Holy Days and, oh, yea: Take a switch to the republicans whose votes you’d like to see pass this bill to cover yer own powdered tush.

He like many “progressives’ at the time, including McCarthy created the “Office Of Unamerican Activities”…both were committed Progressives…willing always for the sake of “scientific experimentation” and “progress”(a huge fad back then) to implement untested social engineering policies, eugenics, new fad education policies, and government-megaindustry collusion. Many economists speculate that his economic policies prolonged the depression…and that he in fact used the social upheaval of it (and the war) to inmplement his fascist ideology.

I’m sorry to dispell the myth….one that was promulgated and promoted by his fascistic corporatistic ties with the media/hollywood). Of course having an fat, ugly but smart and altruistic wife (married for her connections) sure didn’t hurt him either.

Pelosi sounded really defensive. Democrats are not in a position of power when they’re whiny and defensive. I think this bailout has them trapped. They can’t show leadership because then they take the fall for it with taxpayers. But if they don’t show leadership, they’re letting the country go down the tubes and playing partisan politics. It’s kind of like being trapped in a check mate.

As beebop mentioned in another thread, I, too, lost a lot in AAPL stock yesterday, thanks to the dumb, needless, senseless Pelosi shenanigans. Apple’s stock went down 18%. Unreal! It went up near 8% today so it’s still 10% less than it was on Friday. It went down $23 so I lost a HUGE chunk of my portfolio yesterday, as did just about everyone else. What, me worry? It’s Apple! Sales are spectacular!

Global Poverty Act of 2007 – Directs the President, through the Secretary of State, to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the U.S. foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day.

On the surface this bill seems innocent enough. I am all for helping people, but at what cost? The hidden costs in this bill are treasonous!

The cost of this bill is based on 0.7% GDP which averages to about 100 billion this year and with a small amount of growth per year the total through 2015 would exceed 800 billion. It amounts to about $3000 per person. This includes every man, woman, and child in the US at the current population of 303,824,650 as per the us census bureau estimate for 2008.

Not only will this bill add an additional burden of tax but it can also deprive every citizen of their 2nd amendment right to bear arms and will force the United States to become subservient to the United Nations. The achievement of the UN’s Millennium Declaration is a goal of this bill. Giving any entity control in any way over the US and the constitutional rights of her citizens should NOT be written into any bill and presented to congress disguised as an aid bill.

As each day passes, I become more and more frightened at the duplicity of my party and the extreme measures they will go to to get Obama elected. This is not a political race, it is a vile, premeditated, totally unethical attempt to put a shadow man in the White House, the American public be damned. The Democratic Party that I supported for so many years is dead to me. I am no longer buying any rationalization for Hillary to be out stumping for this fraud and this corrupt party. I think Bush’s problem is that he is a completely inept communicator. He knows he’s not good at it, so he doesn’t do it very much. He is not able to explain himself well. Add to that the EXTREMELY liberal media, and I don’t know what the hell has been going on for the last 8 years. I have been ready to flush Bush down the toilet like everyone else, but when I see what the media is doing now with Obama, it really makes me wonder what BS we have been fed about Bush. And seeing how the liberal media apparently wants us to lose the war, I don’t think we’ve heard the truth about that either. Any trust I ever had for the MSM is down the tubes now for sure.

pm 317 — The Democrats have known about Fannie and Freddie since 2004. But they refused oversight and they said Raines was doing a terrific job. Every year Bush tried without success to get more oversight over Fannie and Freddie. It was said in 04 that Fannie and Freddie were 500 Bill in debt and they could limp along for another few years but if there was a down turn in the housing market they could take the entire economy with them. If I heard about this in 04 then Pelosi and the Dems were well aware of this when they refused the oversight. Pelosi thought she would play this political game — scare the people into voting for Obama by waiting until just before the election to spring this poison pill.

The Attorney General and The Election Commissioner in OH are both Republicans. The Attny Gen has called for a Bi-partisan review of all the early votes.

The early votes are going to be set aside until they can be validated against drivers licenses and tax rolls.

The early voting is only for one week. It will allow 4 weeks to verify whether the registrations are valid.
