This is an email I got from a friend. It is very sad indeed. It talks of the WWII America...proud and strong. Ready to stand up and fight for what was right. We are so not even close to the America of yesterday. It breaks my heart to see what a bunch a whiners and wimps we've all (me included) have become.
--------------------------------------------------

I know everyone has a different opinion on the war and our current President, but, this article makes a lot of sense, take 2 minutes, read it and give it some thought. When electing the next President, 'the only decision you have to make is who you want sitting in that seat in the White House when - not if - when we get hit again and millions of American lives are put at risk!'

This is from: ' You Ain't Gonna Like Losing.' Author unknown.

President Bush did make a bad mistake in the war on terrorism, but the mistake was not his decision to go to war in Iraq. Bush's mistake came in his belief that this country is the same one his father fought for in WWII . . . . It is not.

Back then, we had just come out of a vicious depression. The country was steeled by the hardship of that depression, but they still believed fervently in this country. They knew that the people had elected their leaders, so it was the people's duty to back those leaders.

Therefore, when the war broke out the people came together, rallied behind, and stuck with their leaders, whether they had voted for them or not or whether the war was going badly or not.

And war was just as distasteful and the anguish just as great then as it is today. Often there were more casualties in one day in WWII than we have had in the entire Iraq war. But that did not matter. The people stuck with the President because it was their patriotic duty. Americans put aside their differences in WWII and worked together to win that war.

Everyone from every strata of society, from young to old pitched in. Small children pulled little wagons around to gather scrap metal for the war effort. Grade school students saved their pennies to buy stamps for war bonds to help the effort. Men who were too old or medically 4-F lied about their age or condition trying their best to join the military.

Women doubled their work to keep things going at home. Harsh rationing of everything from gasoline to soap, to butter was imposed, yet there was very little complaining.

You never heard prominent people on the radio belittling the President. Interestingly enough in those days there were no fat cat actors and entertainers who ran off to visit and fawn over dictators of hostile countries and complain to them about our President. Instead, they made upbeat films and entertained our troops to help the troops' morale. And a bunch of them even enlisted.

And imagine this: Teachers in schools actually started the day off with a Pledge of Allegiance, and with prayers for our country and our troops!

Back then, no newspaper would have dared point out certain weak spots in our cities where bombs could be set off to cause the maximum damage. No newspaper would have dared complain about what we were doing to catch spies. A newspaper would have been laughed out of existence if it had complained that German or Japanese soldiers were being 'tortured' by being forced to wear women's underwear, or subjected to interrogation by a woman, or being scared by a dog or did not have air conditioning.

There were a lot of things different back then. We were not subjected to a constant bombardment of pornography, perversion and promiscuity in movies or on radio. We did not have legions of crack heads, dope pushers and armed gangs roaming our streets.

No, President Bush did not make a mistake in his handling of terrorism. He made the mistake of believing that we still had the courage and fortitude of our fathers. He believed that this was still the country that our fathers fought so dearly to preserve.

It is not the same country. It is now a cross between Sodom and Gomorra and the land of Oz. We did unite for a short while after 9/11, but our attitude changed when we found out that defending our country would require some sacrifices.

We are in great danger. The terrorists are fanatic Muslims. They believe that it is okay, even their duty, to kill anyone who will not convert to Islam. It has been estimated that about one third or over three hundred million Muslims are sympathetic to the terrorists cause. Hitler and Tojo combined did not have nearly that many potential recruits. So, we either win it -or lose it -and you ain't gonna like losing.

America is not at war. The military is at war. America is at the mall, or watching the movie stars.

Remember Obama said in his book 'Audacity of Hope': 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction'.

What better place for the Muslins to control our country, than in the office of the President of USA.

Too bad the rest of the obamatrons don't get it yet.

I am not a conspiracy theorist, but if obama and his wife hate this country as bad as the act like they do, I wonder if he would try to totally take us down; "so he in his infinite wisdom can build us back up and make us better World Citizens"

One World Government doesn't really seem all that far off now...

I DVR Glenn Beck every day. I have gotten probably about 50 people to start watching it. I wish more people would watch Fox News and less "locals" as well as the Communist News Network (CNN).

I noticed that NBC actually advertised their new fall ine up on Fox News. Maybe they realize they are losing a lot of their viewers to Fox...

They should just start the obama show...sorry, I mean the "news" with:

Hello comrade...and in the news today...our savior obama did something really wonderful and great...yeah obama... hail obama

I think that Revelations might come true in our lifetimes. If Obama get elected; then I will start looking for the 4 horsemen and all the plagues.

Look at the medias blind obsession with him as well as the brainwashed masses who keep repeating "hope" and "change" oh yeah, I forgot "yes we can". Like that scary as heck childrens school chorus. That gave me the creeps.

I have read both McCain's and obama's record. Obama lies more than he tells the truth. Open your eyes and do some reading (and I don't mean the newspaper either). Look at his voting record in Illinois and in the House (and look at some of his "friends" in Chicago).

Don't be a brainwashed drone who just love the "idea" of change. Just because you keep repeating a lie over and over again on the "news" or in ad campaigns, doesn't mean that all of the sudden it's true.

I have a question for you. If you own a business and are barely making it; what would happen if your business taxes went up? You'd either have to lay people off or move overseas where there are lower tax rates. You would not hire more people or expand your business. How is that going to affect unemployment?

And then theres obama's claim that he will get rid of Capital Gains taxes on small business (and raise taxes on anyone making over $250,000)...if you had done any reading...you would know that small business owners have to file their business on their personal income taxes (which means they don't pay Capital Gains, they never have) and which also means that they are considered "The Evil Rich" who make over $250,000. I wonder how obama is going to take away something that wasn't there in the first place?

If Senator McCain or Governor Palin had been associated with 1/10 of the things obama has been associated with; they would have been unqualified to run...and you can bet it would be on every network all the time...but not the chosen one, who...I think someone actually said was "pre ordained" and that obama the "chosen holy one" be elected. Give me a fing break! Yeah right Jesus is going to come back as a Senator from Illinois and then become president before he takes His people home. Yeah sure...that's gonna happen!

Another thing; can you imagine if Senator McCain was so low class as to describe the military as "airraiding villages and killing civilians". The news would eat it up... why have they swept this under the rug?

Or for McCain or Palin to attend a church that was anti-black? There's no way in he** they would be able to get away with it. But it's o.k. for obama to go to a church that is anti-white? Hate speech isn't o.k. no matter where it is directed.

Are you kidding me? Oh no, it's not obvious that the media is biased at all.

I bet if the shoe was on the other foot, and the media was biased towards McCain and Palin, the liberal obama supporters would be all in an uproar and holding protests all over the place...and I'll give you one guess what they would be chanting ...hope ... change ...yes we can ...hope ... change ... yes we can ... hope ...change ... yes we can..

I will vote for Obama when the county registrar sends me my ballot. That takes care of question number one.

As for the rest of the malarkey about how much an empty suit Obama is, you're preaching to the choir and would know so if you were not a blow in. I have been having to choose between the lesser of two evils for over forty years: It's the same old shit just a different day for me.

As to my remark about Palin, I feel that it is dishonorable for a supporter who actually believes in the candidate to deliberately dim expectations in the event of an expected defeat. That says to me that the supporter is not worthy of the candidate and in view of my attitude toward Palin, that puts the supporter below the critters that feed in pond scum.

I hope it's okay to post this here - I tried to pick the most appropriate thread. It's long, so my apologies upfront.

I keep hearing from people that Sarah Palin has no - ZERO - foreign policy or relations experience, and my question is, why are blog writers not expounding on the following (from her news feed on the Alaska Governor's page)?

Four international airlines--Japan Airlines, China Airlines, Korean Air, and Nippon Cargo Airlines--are participating in Alaska Fur & Ice events over the weekend. January 18, 2007, Juneau, Alaska – Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will welcome more than 30 Canadian officials to Juneau and Anchorage for meetings January 18-19, 2007. The high-ranking officials include Yukon Premier Dennis Fentie and a 20-member delegation; Northwest Territories Minister for Industry, Tourism and Investment Brendan Bell; Consul General Peter Lloyd from the Canadian Consulate in Seattle; and the President of the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER) Jim Kenyon who is the Yukon’s Minister of Economic Development.

Governor Palin will hold individual meetings with Premier Fentie, Consul General Lloyd, and Minister Bell. Members of Governor Palin’s cabinet will meet with various ministers of the Yukon and Northwest Territories.

I realize it's not Iraq, or Iran or Afganistan, but it's more than Obama had (or has) and I never hear anything about it.

I work in a major newspaper's newsroom and can confirm the bias, both pro-Obama and anti-Palin. We are well-positioned to investigate Obama but have done very little. Meanwhile, we have two reporters pursuing dirt on Palin and no one on Biden--whose relationship with the horrid credit-card industry certainly calls for scrutiny, or at least so a rational person would think. But there's not much rationality to be found in my workplace. Beyond that, judging from the newsroom reaction to the first debate, I'd say there's quite a cheering section for Obama and a lot of boo birds for McCain. No one even attempts to hide this.

You don't need a permit for a hunting rifle or a shotgun, just a hunting license. The only time you need a permit is if you are going to carry a concealed weapon. The best bet is a shotgun for a first weapon. You don't need to be a marksman to shoot a shotgun.
