Why John McCain’s Experience And Bi-Partisanship Are Essential To Economic Solutions

We face serious problems and we need serious leaders with serious solutions. We are on the brink of total economic collapse, and our collapse may trigger a world-wide depression on a scale like we have never seen before. The worst part is that the public is still behind the times on the crisis.

Mortgages were, like, soooo last year.

The real looming monster in the room that no one wants to admit is there yet are the credit default swaps. If these start going down the tubes, we are completely screwed. Completely.

The problems we face go so far beyond the basic problems of the mortgage crisis, it is hard to even describe the real problems we face in layman’s terms.

On a basic level, everyone broke up their risky stuff into little tidbits and sold them to a bunch of different places… spreading around the risk, therefore supposedly lowering the risk exposure for each party.

Then, at the same time, everyone was buying other places tidbits of risk and paying a premium… because the returns were big and the overall risk was low due to it being spread over a group rather than a single party. And the risk was further minimized because they owned tidbits of risk from several different parts of the financial sector and from several different companies, so if one part had trouble, no big deal… it was balanced out by all the others.

You see, the only way all these little tidbits could pose any real problem is if the whole sector were to grind to a screeching halt. And that could never happen… could it?

Instead of having individual companies running into problems and shutting down, now everyone owns a part of everyone else’s risk… and in the aggregate, those little tidbits of risk add up to a lot of risk, especially if the whole financial system becomes threatened… you know, like now.

So the potential for future problems is immense. Mortgages are just the beginning.

We need a leader with honor, experience and a willingness to work with both sides of the aisle.

John McCain has been in DC and part of the solution for the S&L Crisis, 1987′s Black Friday, the Tech Bubble burst, the collapse after Sept 11th and now the Mortgage Meltdown. He has experience in dealing with both the delicate political and tenuous economic situations.

In addition, much like Obama’s touted “foresight” and speech on Iraq, John McCain put forth legislation in 2005 and warned about the coming meltdown. If we are to give Obama credit that his initial opposition to the Iraqi invasion speaks to some sort of judgement, then this must be trumped by McCain’s prediction of the troubles in the mortgage industry because no one will dispute that the troubles with the economy are by far the most important.

Barack Obama, on the other hand, not so good on the judgement tip. Barack Obama not only stayed silent on the coming crisis, but supported the very groups and people responsible for the crisis. Among those in Obama’s inner circle you can find two former heads of Fannie Mae and the grand dame and architect of the sub-prime mortgage crisis. In addition, Obama has been one of the top recipients of contributions from Wall Street… second only to Chris Dodd. And then there is ACORN… Oh, God… I don’t even know where to begin with these scam artists…

Barack Obama’s complete ignorance and total naivete’ when it comes to real estate and economics has a long track history of devastation. From the boarded up tenements his buddy Rezko left all over the southside of Chicago to the meltdown of the mortgage industry cheer on by his friends, advisors and former employers… Barack Obama is bad for housing and bad for the economy.

This is a big crisis, one that the majority of Americans agree is the biggest crisis we face. We cannot leave it to an ignorant neophyte with a history of destructive decision making that has shown little propensity to change his stance, even less leadership, a near complete lack of bi-partisanship and an affinity for earmarks.

Barack Obama didn’t even want to go back to DC to deal with the mortgage crisis in the first place, didn’t even bother to contact any of the Democrats that were on the fence the morning of the bailout vote… but bi-partisanship and an aversion to earmarks are essential.

John McCain has a long and well documented history of bi-partisanship, one which is lauded by just about everyone in DC including both Hillary and Bill Clinton as well as Joe Biden.

In addition, these bills dealing with the economy need to be free of the clutter, partisanship and politics that earmarks represent. John McCain has never once asked for an earmark… ever.

This stands in stark contrast to Obama and his friends, who wanted to earmark the bailout bill to give ACORN, Obama’s former employer, BILLIONS of dollars and who sunk the vote through their rabid partisanship (ie Pelosi and her rant.)

When facing the precipice of complete economic meltdown, we need someone that has experience, someone that listens to all sides, has the foresight to recognize coming problems, works in a bi-partisan way and does not use crisis situations to earmark and gain political advantage.

We need John McCain.

Keating is old news, well understood and profusely apologized for by McCain. Obama’s skeletons have been hidden and he has never apologized for any wrong position, bad judgment or poor performance. He can’t even run on his “executive experience” with Annenberg because he won’t tell exactly what it was. He also can’t run on his economic experience in housing or international concerns because his housing efforts came to worse than naught and his international economic experience is from friends who are themselves criminal.

Obama didn’t even get his own house in a completely upfront, forthright manner. Even his personal economic efforts are under a cloud.

We in Pennsylvania have been treated to ads featuring 0bama expounding on his ability to fix the financial crisis. I’m wondering if anyone is asking him/herself: What his is record on this issue?

The MSM certainly isn’t asking any probing questions.
And they all KNOW he’s an empty suit.

We in Ohio are seeing what superior fund raising by the RNC will bring. Last night — watching ABC — I saw three ads showing 0mama’s bad financial record. It will run run run constantly now that early voting has started — which is under challenge by the Republican party since Cuyahoga County got caught sending 90,000+ early voting applications OUT OF COUNTY!

I was at a local McCain event last night.

The McCain campaign is taking a stand in PA.
They intend to win it – (hence my new handle).

When McCain/Palin appeared in Delaware County last week, a spur of the moment visit – McCain’s local office was surprised at all the interest from Democrats. Do not believe for one moment that 0bama has a 15 point lead in PA.

The Philly suburbs did NOT go for 0bama in the numbers he had hoped. This contributed to Hillary’s decisive win in PA. Delaware county has a lot of bitter clingers, as does Montco and Bucks.
IOW – the Philly burbs are NOBAMA country.

Thanks for bringing credit default swaps CDS into the light. Warren Buffet calls CDS “weapons of mass financial destruction.” Capitalism runs on both greed and FEAR. Goverment- back mortagages and CDSs took away the FEAR of lost, the FEAR of runaway speculation, the FEAR of being over leveraged. Without the fear- pure unadultrated greed ran shot gun over our economy.

CDSs have never been regulated by our goverment. Never. No one stepped up. Not Dems, not Repubs. Not the SEC. Not the President. Not the Senate. Not the Congress. No matter which party was in charge. They allowed this ticking time bomb of pure greed to go on unchecked.

Actually, i am happy that the polls are showing Obama Ahead.

When polls over sample Democrats and give a biased and significant edge to Obama to push their narrative it actually helps McCain.

One thing McCain voters wont do is not vote.

Obama voters on the other hand, seeing Barry ahead by 15 points in pennsylvania will think oh man he has it made, he don’t need my vote.

Republicans are consistantly more reliable voters than democrats.

If the polls are showing a larger lead for barry than they should becaouse of continued over sampling of dems and under sampling of republicans, thats only going to hurt barack in the long run, and thats a good thing.

Also whenever he is ahead he does stupid stuff…like temples seals and gold coins.

There were five Senators investigated and two exonerated – John Glenn and McCain. Keating lived in Cincinnati and Phoenix so he was a constituent of both.
Glenn was always derided by his fellow astronauts because he was such a straight arrow so it strains credulity to think he would be crooked. McCain was involved to the same extent as Glenn – the other three were the ones who went too far. Remember, at that time, Keating was a respected business man. Even Mother Theresa thought so.

As for the credit default swaps, they are built on bad mortgages, so mortgages are still at the heart of the problem. (Also the ratings agencies lied about the risk so those institutions who bought them were mislead.) I am reading more economists who say that bailing out homeowners would be the most effective way to solve the problem, although others are afraid that it will take too long to implement. We need something now to restore confidence world wide, but we also need to do something to restructure most of these mortgages. There was also a lot of deceit by those who pushed buyers into them. And yes, some buyers were to blame, too. But many were mislead by people they perceived to be experts.

    Shame on you Bruce Springsteen.

I have family all over Florida. There are hardly any yard signs anywhere. What people don’t realize is that most people are not to crazy about this election. Most democrats don’t like Obama and most republicans don’t like McCain. Republicans will come out to vote no matter what. Even in 2006 they turned out and that was a bad year for the republicans. Democrats don’t mind McCain. This whole fiasco is a media generated show that nobody really cares about. The first debate had only 50 million people tune in. This is out of 200 million eligible voters. That is only 25%. Ragen had 85 million viewers and back then there were almost a 100 million less people in the country. So all these polls mean squat. When ever there is no enthusiasm about a candidate the republicans win.

    Oh come on.

It’s more than realistic and this race isn’t over. 5 or 6 points is nothing to overcome and there are 3 debates left.

I will say one thing though, McCain needs to get off his ass and stop being so damn nice. He needs to start hitting Obama hard with all the ammunition he has. I also think he needs to stop all this “reaching across the aisle” shit and he needs to vote NO on the “rescue plan”. The majority of the public is against it and he needs to stand up and oppose it too. If he doesn’t, he can kiss this election good- bye.

Democrats like Obama. Republicans like McCain. Few, though like G. Bush. Fewer like Biden. The unknown quantity here is Gov. Palin. I like her very much.

Can Gov. Palin rise to the occasion and deliver a mortal blow to Oblabla? That’s the strategy.

If Gov. Palin does well in the debate tomorrow, and I expect she will, then McCain needs to feature her prominent, give her ample time to address the crowds. Let her rip Oblahblah out of existence.

The problem with McCain campaign’s is that so far Gov. Palin has had only a minor role in the campaign. That has to stop. She cannot win this election for McCain with a 15 min. introductory role ahead of him. That has to stop.

I don’t care what she says, she needs to say what’s in her mind and she needs ample time to say it. Unless Gov. Palin is allowed sufficient and ample time to address the nation, I am afraid that Oblablah will end winning the election contest.

There will be a plan to stimulate the banking industry by the 15th, there will have been ads running by the RNC and the 527′s. 0bama will get shelled by McCain at the one in New York two weeks before the election. Most Americans make their decisions (if they are Independent or undecided) near the end and are most moved by ECONOMIC issues. After that debate, 0bama will TANK.

  • fif

PA +15 LOL! Yea right. I noticed you didn’t mention the other pollsters. And BTW: 30+ days to go, don’t count your chicken before them come home to roost.

  • lark

If and when McCain lets Palin loose, Obama will be history. But there is a problem with that right now and that gives Oblabla the advantage.

The question is how McCain steps back and allows Palin to take over his campaign. Absent of that, Oblahblah would always look stronger.

  • Sue

Ok. McCain will continue being the nice guy. Let Palin deliver the shots!

I also agree that Obama needs to be up at least 10 points to win. I’ve said that all along. It’s just frustrating and I find myself getting a bit depressed when I look at the polls..even if I know better. LOL

  • wodiej

all I can say is if they really thought Obama could win on his own,why is he CHEATING??

  • http://msnGodhelpusall Lee M

    AMEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shiloh

Of course it is frustrating but do you really believe those ads are convincing any undecided voters?

  • Anonymous

And if the storm doesn’t come? Remember that most hurricanes aren’t as strong as expected if you are prepared. The less time the less impact any move will have (unless it’s a knockout blow).

McCain is a true maverick, but that is preventing him from making the right “political” moves at the moment.

  • fif

Steve, don’t bother them with facts. They can’t seem to absorb real information.

Let’s just ignore all of the Obama satanic kooks shall we?

  • lark

    Palin Palin Palin

If Palin does well in the debate, and I expect her to do very well, then she would have jumped well above her most important hurdle. Way above. She would demonstrate her absolute and unmitigated competence.

Then after that, for God’s sake and for the sake of COUNTRY FIRST, let her loose, loose, loose.

She needs to be the most important feature of the campaign and she needs to connect and connect and connect again with the people that would be voting for her.

She is the one that can defeat The One.

  • Anonymous

That’s my point. Obama is an evasive target because you can’t pinpoint someone who is merely “present”. Obama is hot air we all know that – but now the million dollar question: How do you catch hot air (without the help of a balloon)?

  • Kal

There appears to be a new bill being voted on this evening in Congress — house? senate?

Better see if someone can get details up on this site, the quick squib I saw looked kind of strange, things like AMT extensions and mental health coverage clauses in it, apparently. ??

  • Chris Constable

Time to stop blaming this whole thing on Fannie and Freddie and the Subprimes. Look at the historical facts here, folks. Up until the second quarter of 2008 (yup, that’s this year) the agencies that rate the safety of credit market investments were giving what are now considered “toxic paper” that is causing all our current problems the highest grade investment rating possible (AAA). The problem here is that the credit rating agencies were still governed by laws that had not been changed since the 1940s. These laws said that the only time they actually were forced to be subject to some kind of oversight (including stating conflicts of interest) is when they first applied. Look it up. They’re called NRSROs (Nationally Recognized Statistical Ratings Organizations). The S&P 500 index is one example. At current, there are only 5 NRSROs left of the original 9. The reason for this is because the markets have been so deregulated, the the NRSROs were all bought out and conglomerated. While this was happening, they were also being heavily invested in by the same firms who were buying up the very paper they were providing the ratings on. The corruption here runs much deeper than McCain, Obama, Dodd, Biden, Pelosi, Bush, or any currently elected official. It runs directly back to us, the voter. It is not only our right but our duty in a democracy to elect officials who represent us. We continued to elect officials who allowed these deregulated markets to operate under corrupt principles. It is no ones fault but our own. The bailout that we now face is, as I see it, not just about bailing out the economy, or wall street, or main street. It is about bailing out the Democratic principles on which our nation is founded. It is the lack of oversight of the voters to voice concerns on issues like market oversight and basic transparency that has gotten us to where we are. If we cannot admit that the failure is ours as a nation for the way we have voted, then how can we suggest that Democracy and freedom are working ideals that should be strived for elsewhere? Democracy requires the accountability of the voters.

    You’re absolutely right.

Borrowing from Representativ Boehner (who I have NEVER liked) Their posts are A CRAP SANDWICH … but we are not forced to consume them.

If “anonymous” were so concerned, s/he would be doing the same as the rest of us and actually getting involved in the campaign.

Those of us who are active know the situation is not as dire as some would represent.

  • Pennsylvania goes RED!

did you see that post yesterday where the Paki official was reprimanded by some cleric for his inordinate attention to the Veep candidate?

  • wodiej

yes, Palin did well in her VP speech for good reasons. One of them stands out and that is she connects with voters. She talks the talk and walks the walk. She’s down to earth, she’s one of us. There is no corruption in her background except what is made up of lies like the trooper business. That’s why they had to drop 30 sleazy lawyers down in Alaska to dig through garbage looking for something. Even hacked her e-mail account-STILL FOUND NOTHING. Polls, media etc 4 weeks before an election mean squat. I guess when you got nothing else you have to rely on whatever you can find, even if it’s not accurate. Lie, cheat and steal…..Obama knows all about that so he taught his goose stepping followers well.

  • John Smith

That is exactly what will happen. McCain could have never won the whit house by him self. It will Palin that will close the deal for him. McCain is used to being behind. It is not how long you are in the lead but who finishes first.

  • Anonymous

For example that not only the “big bad banks” are going down the drain but that manufacturing is right behind them. ISM down the most this month since 1984, GM close to going out of business, another entire sector of the economy threatened…

  • wodiej

how many voters do you think would have any idea what you are talking about enough to make an informed decision at the voting booth? Not too many I can guarantee you that. That is why we vote. It is the responsibility of public officials to act in our best interest. Yes, rating agencies are partly to blame. But greed and corruption are too. Handing out enormous bonuses and CEO pay even when a company is failing. Is that our fault too?? There are always going to be greedy, corrupt people. That is why there needs to be regulation. The Republicans and McCain wanted it, Democrats didn’t. END OF STORY.

  • Diana

Ooo Pelosi played partisan Queen and now her dirty laundry is being aired. It will be interesting to see what else comes out.

  • Chris Constable

Actually, both sides wanted regulations…in their own areas, under their own terms. The deregulations that allowed the conglomerations of ratings industries were, in no small part, thanks to the Gramm sponsored deregulations of 1999. The lack of oversight on Fannie and Freddie can be blamed on the Dems later on. The increase in attempts to get loans pushed onto people who would never have gotten them can be blamed on the Clinton era. The creation of the securities market and beginning resurgence of free-market capitalism can be blamed on Reagan. My point here is…this issue is not party based. It is not a matter of Democrats did this, Republicans did that…it is a matter of voters didn’t pay attention to either side. We’ve all been letting ourselves believe whatever our party tells us for too long, without doing any actual research into the history of how we got where we are and making decisions for ourselves. We have become a nation of disinterested people who would rather believe the soundbytes we hear than to do any research on our own so that we can get back to our regularly scheduled programming. The current crisis is a call to wake up. Stop acting like this issue can be blamed on any political party…it is a financial issue dealing with fiscal policies that have been set over the last 50 years while the average American sat back and took no notice of what was happening because they had other things to worry about. These ARE our things to worry about. For Democracy and Free Capitalism to exist, all those involved must be the police of our own system. We cannot simply sit back and take what we are given as the truth.

  • MMI

McCain made sure everyone in Congress got to participate in the debate and it bought time for a little more scrutiny of the plan.

I hope McCain criticizes the loading of the bill with legislative bribes. If these things have merit on their own, bring it for a separate vote. This is suppose to address the financial crisis. Unless a provision has something to do with this subject, it should be left out.

My understanding that raising the FDIC insurance level could have been done without a Congressional bill if that is what they wanted.

I hope this plan does not pass.

  • Chris Constable

And as far as how many voters would actually understand what I’m speaking of…agreed, at the current moment, there’s probably not many who would. But, especially with the birth of this gigantic information house some folk like to call the InterWeb, it doesn’t take that long to get yourself up to speed. Start by researching the SECs current proposals to regulate the Credit Rating industry. It was proposed about two weeks ago. Finally. Then, check out the International Monetary Fund’s analysis from June of this year on how the Subprime crisis came about, and what the effects of it mean. Next, check the voting record of your Senator and Congressman. See just how many times the voted to lessen regulation and oversight on the financial sector. A few hours a week spent researching what our politicians are doing in regards to fiscal policy, and next thing you know, people WILL have an idea about things like this. As far as greed and corruption – absolutely that’s a problem. That’s why a proper economic system contains regulations and controls to allow transparency, oversight, and accountability. And honestly, I agree that the golden parachutes are a ridiculous thing, and are definitely a problem, but lets be real…how much money do you really think is going to go out in golden parachutes from the bailout fund? Most of the CEOs who had golden parachute deals in these firms are already riding that parachute down, as their successors (many of whom have been put into place as recently as a month ago) are about to get fired with contracts that have no parachutes because they simply haven’t been with the firm long enough. The lack of protection for “golden parachutes” in this bill means nothing. Legislation limiting CEO rewards for companies that take losses needs to be passed, and has for a long time. This bill has nothing to do with it. Once again, the politicizing of fiscal issues that are far more properly handled with a mind that is free of party politics. Something we keep hearing both sides say, but neither side ever adheres to.

  • Diana

Totally agree. She went to public schools, she had to enter a beauty contest to get a scholarship to go to college. Her children went to public schools, she was a PTA mom. She’s now having to deal with teenage pregnancy, she has a special needs child. A child in the military. Had to work extra jobs to make ends meet. I heard her father’s interview, they’re not rich people. A school teacher who teaches science. They couldn’t afford to leave Alaska. They began hunting to help with food supplies to get them through the rough spots. She knows what it means to have to struggle. To earn your way. All this and still managed to take on corruption, and cut the budget in Alaska. She is one of us.

  • wonderwoman

I agree the electoral doesn’t look that great for John, but is its true that Obama over polls. I think they are about even in the battle ground states.

Thanks Texas Hill Country and thanks Chris Constable, especially for your post at 9:51:33. As an educated American, I have been swayed by the various, seemingly reasonable, positions on the fiscal crises by analysts and economists I “trust”. It is an emergency; it is not an emergency. Which way finally we come down on the issue will be a GREAT DECIDER of the future because $700 billion is a lot of dough and a lot of debt. And we, or at least I, do not have much time to learn. I think I am deciding on the necessity of a “bail-out” minus all pork — the government gathering mortgage debt in CDSes and sorting it all out. This means sorting out which mortgages should be saved (readjusted) and which are hopeless and developing regulations that bring about reasonable financial transactions with transparency, accountability, and real punishments for wrong-doers. But I am still reading.

If I had done as Chris Constable (is that really your last name?) suggests, I would know much more at this stage:
    1. Research the SEC’s current proposals to regulate the Credit Rating industry.
    2. Check out the International Monetary Fund’s analysis from June 2008 on the Subprime crisis.
    3. Check voting records of Senator and Congresspeople: a) regarding fiscal policy; b) on lessening or enhancing regulation and oversight on the financial sector.
    4. Spend a few hours a week researching what our politicians are doing in regards to fiscal policy.

THEN PEOPLE WILL HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT THE FINANCIAL CRISIS — and perhaps we would have stepped in earlier to demand greater regulation and oversight from our Sens and Reps.

But Chris, this is very hard to do with an extremely busy work schedule and little time even for the family. In my mind Chris answers: Yes, but your pensions and your 401Ks for your future, the future opportunities for your children, the future of our country, the West, the developing world depend on you doing your due diligence as a citizen in a democracy.

I answer: Damn!(with irritation) OK! (with resignation) I guess I gotta do it — NOW (change and hope?)

legally I think it might be a grey matter. Obama is a constitutional lawyer, he could easily defeat it if there were nothing to it.

  • wonderwoman

You are right it doesn’t seem to be bothering McCain that he is behind. The problem for the dems is that they are not that great an alternative to the republicans.

  • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

We know who controls many of the polls.

No, who controls them? The Illuminati? Are all the polls unreliable? Here are the latest nationals…

    Time: OBAMA +7

    Pew Research: OBAMA +6

    Rasmussen Tracking: OBAMA +6

    Hotline/FD Tracking: OBAMA +5

    Gallup Tracking: OBAMA +4

    GW/Battleground Tracking: OBAMA +2

If all these polls had Obama behind, the PUMAs would certainly be jubilating… they’d think the polls reflected something real. Well, the polls do reflect something real. And it’s being felt in the battleground states as well.

What is McCain lacking that all his character and experience don’t shine through? What is Palin lacking that all her charm and authenticity aren’t winning the day?

  • wonderwoman

I’m glad to see Palin study this week, she can’t exactly throw it to the wind like John did. The MS would love that.

Stop Bush’s “No Banker Left Behind Act”

Having suffered a stunning defeat of their “Grand Theft Bailout” Bill on Monday, the Bush Administration, the banks and Wall Street are now coming back for their second try. They are used to directing the affairs of the country regardless of the will of the people. The U.S. Senate is expected to vote tonight, Wednesday evening, in favor of a nearly identical version. This is intended to force the House of Representatives to do the same when they return tomorrow, Thursday.

You can call the Capitol Switchboard at 800-473-6711 or 202-224-3121 to ask to be transferred to the offices of the Senators from your state.

Bush’s “No Banker Left Behind Act” was defeated because of overwhelming public opposition. But now the politicians have come up with an easy answer. In an unprecedented step, Congress is virtually shutting down its incoming constituent email. They are installing the digital version of riot police, protecting the politicians from an enraged population that demands to be heard. Congress has acknowledged that it is receiving millions of emails from the people of the United States, all opposing this theft of $700 billion to be handed to the richest bankers. People who try to send emails are likely to receive error messages and their emails will not go through during “peak hours.” Congress claims that this is a response to the overwhelming emails to keep their server from crashing; however, their server did not crash during the time they were receiving the most emails and they quietly instituted this program late Tuesday afternoon.

The U.S. Senate – this country’s version of the House of Lords – is returning to do the work of the White House in league with the biggest bankers. Known as “millionaires club” because of the elite status of its members, the U.S. senate is playing the same role that the King’s House of Lords played in earlier times in British history, a political barrier created to protect the aristocracy from the wrath of the people.

VoteNoBailout.org is urging all of its members and supporters to call Congress, to email them at “off peak” hours, and to come directly to the U.S. Capitol on Thursday morning at 10 am so our voices can be heard at the People’s Demonstration/Speakout. Congress can run but they can’t hide from the wrath of the people. We won’t let them.

Thursday’s demonstration will take place at 10 am on the South side of the Capitol at Independence Ave. and New Jersey Avenues SE. For more information, see below or go to VoteNoBailout.org.

You can call the Capitol Switchboard at 800-473-6711 or 202-224-3121 to ask to be transferred to the offices of the Senators from your state.

You’d think it was the 1970s all over again.

Liberals are resurrecting Jimmy Carter’s failed tax, energy and economic plans.
Iran is saber-rattling against the West.
And Hanoi Jane Fonda is stumping for liberal Senate candidates.

That’s right, last Saturday night, Jane Fonda and all of her far-left Hollywood liberal friends raised $1 million for Democrat Senate candidates with one goal in mind — to break pub’s Senate firewall and seize total control of our government!

“Everything now is ‘Obama, Obama, Obama,’ but we’re also concerned about the Senate, which is critically important no matter who wins the White House. We need to give the Democrats a majority totaling at least 60 senators.” (Politico, 6/18/08)

These Hollywood liberals understand the stakes. A 60-seat filibuster-proof super majority means conservatives would be powerless to stop the liberal agenda in the Senate. And, the consequences would be disastrous:

    Liberal Supreme Court justices
    Skyrocketing taxes
    Higher gas prices
    No new drilling
Giveaways to trial lawyers and Big Labor bosses
Our nation stands on the brink of taking a disastrous turn to the left.

11 Republican Senate seats that liberals are being targeted in 2008.

Unless we vote the down ticket strategically, the liberal Obamacrats may very well succeed in their campaign to control our whole country. Therefore, make a difference. Help us fight back on the down ticket in case he wins.

I get a pollimg report almost on a daily basis. This polls with McCain 8 to 15% behind are a buuch of bulls…This same company was included in a group of 13 polling organization I got yesterday. The national average was 46% to 43.15 with Obama in the lead and with a weighted average ( I guess accounting for the number of Democrats) it was 46.5 to 46%, with Onama in the lead. Today’s Gallup, as reported on Fox a few minutes ago, has Obama 48% and McCain 44%. Obama trolls who tout these number do no more then “cherry pick” one and them run out here and all over the other sites, include the news. These trolls are not even Obama volunteers. They are paid employees.
