How Democrats Can Defeat Obama, See McCain Win, Still Get Everything They Want and Respect Themselves In The Morning

(bumped up by SusanUnPC)

Politics makes strange bedfellows. But one fellow most Democrats know they don’t want to be in bed with is Barack Obama. The other choice, John McCain, doesn’t sound too appealing to many Democrats either. The third choice is, as Sarah Palin would no doubt support, is abstinence. But the argument some make is that abstinence is the same as voting for John McCain. And it is.

Many Democrats seem to be going through a period of conflict over this election. They see Obama for what he is: a dishonest snake oil salesman, unfit and unqualified to be President, throwing out one sweet talking lie after another as the political Mr. Goodbar, trying to pick up as many votes as he can get. And while most reject him, they also are recoiling over the idea of having a one night stand with a Republican, any Republican, though the guilty pleasure of having Obama lose and cheating on the cheater is too good to resist. But what they worry about the most is, how will they feel in the morning?

Many of these are Clinton supporters who very much wanted to see Hillary Clinton get the nomination for a variety of reasons, including the historic ones. And while many supported Clinton for the breakthroughs she represented to women, the real reason Clinton was the superior candidate had nothing to do with gender. She was simply the more qualified candidate. And Obama is clearly unqualified and from a character point of view, unfit.

And so what would make a Clinton supporter, who viewed Obama as the clearly less able candidate, even consider voting for him now for President? The only reason seems to be either guilt over voting for a Republican, or a sense of not cheating on the Democratic Party; a party that this year cheated on them and violated every rule, procedure and principle of democracy in order to have a nominee that the majority of the party voted against.

There is also the ongoing belief that a Democrat, any Democrat, would be better than a Republican in the White House. And in most cases that would be true. But not this year.

The truth is, there are more good reasons to defeat Obama and the Obamacrats than to elect him, even for the staunchest of Democrats.

For those who actually think Barack Obama is qualified to be President, no amount of truth, logic or reason is going to change their minds. To do so means having to admit they were taken in and made fools of, and as any cop will tell you, most con men get away with their con because their marks are so embarrassed to admit they were taken, they just keep quiet.

Obama is simply unfit to be President in any way. Whether it was his serial lying about his relationship with Jeremiah Wright and what he knew and when he knew it, the fact that he was more than willing to tolerate Wright’s views of 9/11, and his views on race and never felt offended enough to walk out, to his lying to the people of Ohio about NAFTA and his other reversals and broken pledges on everything from public financing of campaigns to FISA, he is simply not someone you want to be in charge of the White House.

Aside from his dishonesty, clinical narcissism and almost pathological lack of conscience, he has no ability to do the job he is seeking and has never in his life ever exhibited even the smallest evidence that he could do it. On the basis of integrity, there is nothing to consider. Obama has no integrity and as far as we can see from his past, never did.

McCain on the other hand, though one can disagree with some of his policies, has in fact demonstrated that he is willing to stand up for what he believes, and more importantly, stand up to Republicans which, based on some of Obama’s policy statements makes Obama sound more Republican than McCain.

Yes McCain has agreed with Bush on a lot of things but Obama has actually agreed with Bush on more and based on his public pronouncements, it’s Obama that sounds more like a Bush 3rd term than McCain. Obama has endorsed Bush’s faith based initiatives which are clearly unconstitutional, endorsed Bush’s position on Iraq (let the commanders on the ground decide); now says he supported the surge, reversed himself on off-shore drilling so his position is now more Republican, reversed himself on the DC gun ban, and has said that “the Republican Party is the party of ideas.”

So for those Democrats are have been reluctant to vote for a Republican or see a Republican win on ideological grounds, what is it that they think they are getting with Obama?

McCain on the other hand, has broken with Republicans when his conscience told him to. He has incurred the wrath of Rush Limbaugh and conservatives over his position on illegal immigration, daring to take a more humane approach, and before that, incurred the wrath of many in his party with the McCain-Feingold bill in which McCain joined forces with one of the Senate’s most liberal Democrats to pass campaign finance reform. And sticking to that philosophy, is campaigning using public financing. Obama, who pledged to use public financing, reneged on it as soon as he became the nominee, leaving MoveOn, Maureen Dowd, and editors across the country feeling used and with tears on their pillows.

Like it or not, the record shows McCain is the real reformer and the real deal, while Obama is what most of the 18 million Democrats who voted against him know him to be — a snake oil salesman who has managed to bamboozle a lot of dumb, impressionable people. The Democratic ‘Mr. Goodbar’ has dumb media blonds like Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and almost everyone at Newsweek, the NY Times and CNN eating out of hand.

The other thing to keep in mind about McCain is that he is rated last by conservative groups in supporting conservative legislation. His voting record is ranked 49th among Republican Senators by conservative watch dog groups, which is why a lot of conservatives can’t stand him. In other words, disaffected liberal Democrats who can’t possibly in good conscience vote for Obama could do a lot worse than bringing McCain home to mother.

How absurd is the idea of Obama as President? Think about Obama being put in charge of the country’s nuclear codes. I know. It almost makes you laugh out loud. Do I think that Obama would actually do something stupid with those codes? No. I bring it up to point out the true absurdity of Obama being elected President, and to put a fine point on the realities of and the enormity of the job and its responsibilities and how woefully and laughably inadequate Barack Obama is to those responsibilities.

The final argument people try to use on Democrats who don’t support Obama is Roe v.Wade and that a McCain presidency would put that in danger. That is utter nonsense and fear mongering, and the people trying to use it to scare people know it.

First, regardless of McCain’s personal opinions, there is no indication that overturning Roe is in any way a priority or even a desire for him. Secondly, no President has been more outspoken against Roe and has made his preferences more clearly known than Bush and even with two conservative Supreme Court appointees it didn’t happen, has never come close to happening, and wouldn’t happen under McCain. And for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that even Scalia has expressed a great reluctance to overturn long standing precedent, especially that which would cause great social upheaval unless there were great, immediate and pressing concerns. And then there is always the issue of who would have standing to bring a direct challenge to Roe and the answer is practically no one, or it would have happened already.

Roe is no concern in a McCain presidency.

Aside from Obama’s unfitness for the job (which is reason enough) the other compelling reason for an Obama defeat is to reform and fumigate the Democratic Party which Dean, Pelosi, Brazile, Chuck Schumer and others have turned into the Obamacratic Party which becomes more and more of an embarrassment every day as Pelosi’s disastrous performance with the bailout bill proved.

Obama is the nominee because of a dishonest primary in which these same people, along with the press, did everything possible to sell Obama as the nominee and do it as dishonestly as they knew how, including rigging the roll call vote, violating every Democratic Party rule and procedure in the process.

Dean, Pelosi, Brazile, Fowler and every member of the DNC who engineered and went along with fixing the process needs to go. Those who won’t resign (though I think many will after an Obama defeat) need to have their power and their base removed, so the that the Democratic Party can air itself out. And the only way that can happen is with an Obama loss. And the bigger the better.

And with McCain promising that he will only serve one term, that becomes even more attractive. In 2012 there will be two new candidates running even if McCain wins.

Twenty-five years ago the Republican Party got through Watergate. This year the Democratic Party has to go through Fumigate and it can start with a big Obama loss. And on the morning of November 5th, with a McCain victory, the majority of Democrats can wake up, open the windows and let in the morning air. And they can feel good about the night before and McCain winning. Even if its only a one night stand.

Well vote for Obama and lose your country forever to a person that is probably not even a citizen of this nation and that hates it. MCcain- Palin 08.

After the last few weeks, and doing research that showed the dems to be the biggest cause of this economic mess….I feel pretty good about being a P.U.M.A. right now. Seems I switched just in time to not have to defend the indefensible. I did not know this stuff was going on, and I am amazed at the lofty words and humanitarian crap all this greed and money-grabbing was wrapped in. Now that my eyes are opened to the bull of the dems and that repubs actually have redeeeming qualities, I think i will stay unattached for now. Being clear eyed and picking candidates and causes on the merits not the party is the way i will go.

If nothing else came from this election, at least I am free now…as Dr king said “Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, I’m free at last”.

      • mcpalin hill

lorey — I am cheating on the Democrats and I have never felt better. I refuse to be abused by a party I have voted for all my life. Who knew they hated women the way they do? Who knew we had a financial crisis so severe that Pelosi would put off dealing with it so she could use it as an election year issue? What the DNC did to Hillary and Palin makes me sick. Yes I found a new man now. He is a war hero and he knows what its like to suffer for his country. By the way, he is a real man and he appeals to this real woman.

      • Susan

Oy vey…here we go again. you listen to Rubin from this neo-con facist site? First of all, there are far more people who DO think Obama is fit to be president, okay??? that’s reality. Hillary supported faith based initiatives – that’s a fact.
obama may have flip flopped on FISA, but the guy wants to win….that’s not NEARLY as big a turn as Bill Clinton pulled once in office.

your post is sooooooo lame, I cannot believe you all are still harping on the SAME issues that have proven to be lies – doesn’t it get tiring?

          Susan,
FISA is not the only concern I have about Sen Obama.

(NOte the equivalence the Post makes between Hillary’s not WRODING her claims abbout her role in SCHIP with Obama’s lying and taking credit for doing next to nothing on the immigration bill.)

Obama is an empty suit. He has never held one meeting of the subcommitte on European affairs he chairs (except for mandatory ones to rubber stamp ambassadorial appointments).

He never wrote articles for the Harvard Law Review when he was in charge.

He seems to have accomplished little as a community organizer.

Most of the bills he takes credit for in Illinois were handed to him on a silver platter.

He took credit for passing a bill to force nuclear power plants to report radioactive leaks when he actually watered it down to make reporting voluntary after lobbyists from the industry schmoozed him.

In her short time in office Palin has gotten an agreement for a much needed natural gas pipeline that more experienced pols have been trying for years to get.

She raised taxes on the oil companies.

She assigned state inspectors to oversee their operations rather them relying on them to police themselves. (Too bad she wasn’t head of the SEC.)

She supported the lawsuit for to force Exxon to pay the court awarded damages from the Valdez spill.

AND -last but not least – she took on corruption in her own party. Contrast that with Obama’s aligning himself with the crooks in his local party machine in order to gain political advantage and it’s clear who is not qualified for high office.

Obama IS a true American citizen just like you are. This BS about Obama and a fake birth certificate is totally NOT true! This is more Republican scare tactics. Vote for McCain for every reason Marc laid out in his post re Obama’s absolute inadequacy.

In addition to Obama having to experience and using this campaign to make his own racist statements — he is now cheating to win. Did anyone see the news on Fox where they were interviewing some of the homeless and/or convicts who were registering voters and who were ENCOURAGING THEM TO VOTE FOR OBAMA? Well, I won’t mention the color/race of the one female being interviewed, but she was young and was missing MOST OF HER TEETH in the front and was exclaiming to the reporter that she was recomending that the homeless/convicts vote for Obama. If this represents an ‘ad’ for Obama and why we should support him – well, you get where I’m going with this…

LOL!! BO does attract an interesting array of supporters. At a quick stop this evening in LA there was a 20-something hippie looking guy standing in front with an Obama t-shirt on smoking a cigarette. I tried not to laugh at him when I walked by. He was such a tool as are all Obots.

          • Brendy

Actually, the ‘theory’ that Obama attracts the ‘highly educated’ and ‘well informed’ is kind of disputed with such scenes as the young girl with no front teeth. I find it rather amusing.

          • Susan

Oh that makes a lot of sense KathyNeocon…a guy wearing an Obama t shirt smoking a cigarette is a tool….how is that? does he even know who the guy on his t shirt is? your comment just shows YOUR ignorance – what are you trying to say? young people or hippies or those who smoke all will vote for Obama?

    • angie

I can no more vote for Obama who attended that “church” for 20 years with its Black Liberation Theology — the basic tenet of which is the separation of the r@ces — then I could vote for David Duke. Yep, I said it. Both alleged “men”(I use that word loosely) are intimately associated with a hate-filled group on opposite ends of the r@ce spectrum. This is not a “struggle” for me, just like it wasn’t a struggle for my die-hard Republican father to vote for Edwin Edwards when he ran against Duke for the LA governorship. My dad could have taken the “easy” passive-aggressive way out by not voting, but he gladly went to the voting booth and voted against Duke. I’m going to do the same & gladly vote against Obama.

      • Ai1een

Well said Angie – Excellent succinct points that I haven’t heard before. Thanks.

That’s the commercial. Show Rev. Wright ranting and Goddamning the USKKKofA, then show a clip of Obama saying he never heard him say those things. Then the voice over says “if Barack Obama doesn’t even know what’s going on in his own church that he attended for 20 years, how can he know what’s going on in America?”

I remember that race. Duke vs Eddie Edwards. Mississippi Burning was showing during the election at the Clearview theater on I 10. Duke and his brother went to all the St Pat’s parties around town. The bumper stickers all said, “Vote for the Crook, It’s important”. Thank God the crook won.

That’s right…that wing nut Hannity is the only one who will keep repeating the Obama bashing every night, and that is a fact. that guy is a racist pig – and not in the least intelligent. talk about dumbing down america, he does it every night.

Susan – Hannity DOES repeat himself BUT I’m sure he does it in case new viewers happen to be tuning in – whom, otherwise have no clue about Obama; afterall, the MSM keeps ALL OF OBAMA’S secrets secret. • Goblintrain

Yup, if we get McCain in next month were going to owe a big favor to PUMA. Its unrealistic to predict the political landscape in 2012, so its probably irresponsible to commit to its form this early on, but the debt is noted & a Hillary vote next election is not off the table if we win in November.

      • Michigan Liberal

Ok, lets say you guys get your wish and McCain gets in. Let’s see how much of a maverick he is when the neocons start calling in their markers. You know full well McCain had to make a deal with the extreme right wing of his party to get their support. How ‘maverick’ is it of him to pick Sarah Palin as his running mate? McCain had to pick a far right wack job to get the support of the wacko base of the Republican Party. How about the Supreme Court? There’s already four right wingers on the bench. McCain will have the chance to appoint another one or two judges. Again, since McCain sold his soul to the far right, he’s going to have to appoint right wing nut cases for the Supreme Court. Now for the icing on the cake. What if, God forbid, something happens to McCain after he’s in office. We then get PRESIDENT SARAH PALIN. Talk about UNQUALIFIED! Can anyone tell me how in any way, shape, or form she is competent enough to be Commander In Chief? Besides being unqualified, she is so far to the right she almost makes Bush look like a liberal.

Susan – ‘english’ is spelled “English”. Also, ‘sarah’ is spelled “Sarah” – you know, a proper noun is ALWAYS capitalized and so is ‘alaska’ (“Alaska”). Now, WHO has taken ‘English’????

O-Mama Sarah Palin rocks the house, as far as I’m concerned. Last night, we saw those 18 million crack in the glass ceiling get a little deeper.

    McCain/Palin Nov. 4th

    • JoseyJ

      Exactly!
And Palin is a good role model for Americans – not just women and girls.

      • just me

So true I would rather serve a BBQ and have the friendly Sarah Palin over than have a cheater round. Hell, he would bring all those cronies & there would be no food for the other guests they would cheat the way to the front….

        How low will they go?

        GO Sarah~~

        • Brendy

just me – if you invited Obummer and his friends over, you’d have to make a run to the specialty health-food/organic (aka expensive) stores. LOL!

      • Ginger

I love how cranky she makes the dems….guess they hate it when a liberated woman just doesn’t believe the way they want her to, but isn’t that what they said they were fighting for…women’s right to choose, Sarah just makes her choices different than they want and they hate her. So who is the true liberated woman?
Is it the ones hating her? Or the ones that say “not my choice but I respect her right to choose to be a republican”……

    • Michigan Liberal

Question for you. If you were a Hillary supporter, how can you vote for the anti-Hillary, Sarah Palin. Tell me how Sarah Palin could even begin to hold a candle to Hillary Clinton.

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Triskelion

Marc Rubin has my utmost respect and admiration.

    PUMAs will decide this election.

    Rock on PUMA!

  • MoniQue

    NO BAMA!

NEVER, EVER, NOT IN THIS LIFETIME.

By the way, McCain will still win, unless we let Obama cheat like he did with the nomination.

    I’m voting McCain-Palin!

  • JoseyJ

Where does Obama stand on the issues THIS WEEK??
Obama has flipped and flopped and will say and do anything to win!
At least we know where McCain stands!
It’s difficult to monitor a moving target like Oblahma.

We NEED checks and balances – and OVERSIGHT – but Obama has NEVER bucked the Dems! And with our financial crisis, Dodd and Frank will STILL be running the show!

Dem Congress with Pres. McCain – YESSSS!

    • jcm

You better be looking at that Dem Congress very carefully – are you happy with the present dem congress – you want some more of the same !!!
Who do you think fought every step of the way against anything that would regulate FM & FM – you want to reward that?

      • It’s Not Me

Oh, please. The Democrats have had control of Congress for less than 2 years. The Republicans were in control from 1995-2006. 2 years in power does NOT collapse a government, but 11 years in power DOES. This economic mess can never be laid at the feet of Democrats.

The Republicans and their HUGE deficit, outrageous tax cuts for their wealthy cronies, the oil companies, no bid contracts for Halliburton and Bechtel, no oversight of anyone or anything and free reign spending CAN BE BLAMED. The idiot-in-chief had a surplus given to him by a DEMOCRATIC President Clinton…Clinton presided over the longest period of peace-time economic expansion in American history, which included a balanced budget and a reported federal surplus. Based on Congressional accounting rules, at the end of his presidency Clinton reported a surplus of $559 billion. The REPUBLICANS SQUANDERED IT ALL and we now have a HUGE DEFICIT AND a HUGE DEBT…thanks to them……The National Debt is $9.8 Trillion!

So please don’t tell people the Democrats are irresponsible with our tax dollars. Not only did the REPUBLICANS blow the $559 BILLION Clinton left them, but then added $482 BILLION! NOW, we can add on the $850 BILLION bailout dollars to the REPUBLICAN NATIONAL DEBT. No…REPUBLICANS are to blame for this fiscal mess. Not the Democrats.

  • oppo

my husband & i are sold!

when the veil was yanked off by the DNC during the clinton debacle, we were stunned at the corruption & depressed by the arrogance…

    we’re now recovered & voting for McCain…

and we are not alone — in both our generation (40′s) & our parents we’ve seen more lifelong dems who will vote repub at least this once…

    • JoseyJ

      You speak for me!
The DNC and Dem leadership rigged the nomination for Oblahma from the gitgo! There was no need for primaries or caucuses because Dem reps and SDs – and the media – were in the tank for Oblahma all along.
I refuse to reward sleaziness and corruption – and have switched registration to Repub.

MY pastor says “God Bless America!”

      • Benjamin

I finally changed my party to Unaffiliated back in May, just before the NC primary. I worked and phone banked for Hillary all through the primary. She’s still my candidate – I miss her and believe in her. A strong progressive domestic agenda, and a strong, sensible foreign policy. What was not to like with Hillary – who I think is the most brilliant, courageous and gifted leader we’ve had in generations. I will vote for McCain-Palin, mainly because I trust that John McCain sincerely has the best interests of our country at heart.

        • Ani

          Couldn’t have said it better.

        • KathyNeocon

Amen, but I’ve gone a step further and changed my affiliation to Republican since the cookes, cronies, and extremists took over the Democratic party. I’m staying right where I am, and I’m much happier. However if Hillary runs in 2012 I will proudly vote for her as a Republican because she loves this country and is tireless in her work and commitment to keep this country a great and proud nation.

          • Brendy

KathyNeocon – I AM a Republican, but I (and all of the Republicans in my family) voted for Hillary in our primary. By the time our primary rolled around, our man had already lost (Romney), so we voted for Hillary. After watching her in her debates with Elstupo, my WHOLE family gained a new respect for her. We were hoping the oucome would be two PRO-AMERICANS to choose from – Hillary and McCain; unfortunately that didn’t happen. Now that Obama won the dem nominee, we are most definitely voting for McCain – and Palin has helped with our decision.

The sad thing is – the hard-core dems in my family who voted for Hillary are now voting for Obummer. It’s unbelieveable!

            • Brendy

I also meant to add the word “TRUST” when I mentioned my family gained a new respect for Hillary.

        • athy

          Benjamin,
          Ditto

        • Michigan Liberal

Since you beleive in Hillary Clinton, will you vote for Sarah Palin for President? Because if anything happens to McCain once he’s in office that’s who you get.

    • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

Yes…in Georgia, where the Dems here are lifelong and once were very, very loyal to the party, many of us are voting McCain/Palin.

Even my 86 year old mama, a lifelong Dem, is voting for McCain and she thinks Sarah Palin is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

    • snosandy

Eight members of my family that have always been Dems or Independents are voting McCain/Palin this year. Most of us supported Hillary in the primary and a couple are first time voters.

      • Helen C

I have 10 family members who are lifelong Dems. who are voting for McCain, in 48 years i have never given a Rep.vote but will be proud to do it this time

  • wodiej

On Glenn Beck, Obama trained Acorn workers….these people storm and protest banks and welfare offices, demanding loans and welfare for low income people. wow…

    • mimi

What states do they do this in? They don’t do it in NYC.

    • Michigan Liberal

Glenn Beck = RIGHT WING NUT CASE.

  • http://judithweingarten.blogspot.com judith weingarten

I can’t believe this. I’m as strong a Hillary supporter as any of you but how can you dream of rewarding the Republicans for dragging the country down, from Iraq, to New Orleans, to the economy today? As for Roe, don’t be so sure. Palin (who would be Pres. of the Senate, if not one day POTUS) is crazy on the issue: <a href= “http://www.youtube.com/v/v77WekmM8F8&hl=en&fs=1″this clip this clip casts a clear light on where she stands on the issue. Every woman in America should see it. She tries to do her politician thing and squirm out of giving a straight answer, but Couric does her best to pin her down.

Palin’s response to a woman who has been raped and gotten pregnant as a result: sorry, but too bad — you are required to keep it.

I’m gonna hold my nose and vote for Obama. And Hillary agrees. As she said, you don’t ask the iceberg to fix the Titanic.

    • JoseyJ

      Seems you bought the fearmongering!
There was a clip on Fox News this morning – Planned Parenthood’s TV ad about rape victims in Wasilla paying for rape kits.
Not a shred of Truth to it!

The media CONCEALS damaging info about Oblahma and has been in the tank for him all along.
We’ve been through this for 8 years – with the media concealing info the Bush admin didn’t want aired.
And you want to continue it??
      Scary!

Right before our eyes we watch Obama and Biden LIE – and the media ignores it!
And you’re worried about abortion?!? Palin has her personal and religious views but hasn’t fused religion with governance.
      Biden also personally opposes abortion!

      • Michigan Liberal

No, my friend. If you’re watching Faux News, you’re buying the Republican brand hook, line and sinker.

    • Dr. Kate

better get used to it. there are millions of us! And we will bring barky down because we care about the COUNTRY more than the PARTY.

Time to grow up. Principle before party. Country before party.

    • Kathy

People keep leaving out the fact that Biden is pro-life, too. That doesn’t mean he will force his personal view on the country anymore than Palin will. After all the corruption of the Democratic primaries, the manipulations by Pelosi, Reid, Brazile, et al, and the outright lies by Obama, I will never vote for the arrogant Chosen One. McCain won my vote when he showed his integrity and stood up for Hillary after that disgusting rant by Father Pfleger, while Obama used the staged opportunity to resign from the church. Obama will set women’s causes back 20 years. He already pays his female staffers less than his male staffers.

      • Ani

Harry Reid is the Senate majority leader and he is pro-life too — together with Bush, did they overturn Roe v. Wade?

The first six years of the Bush administration we were completely controlled by neocons — the executive branch and both houses — did they overturn Row v. Wade.

Let’s stop buying the koolaid about this political hot potato. It is nothing more than a rallying cry to the respective bases to get them fired up at election time.

    • Diana

You forgot Sarah supports the morning after pill, and all contraception. She has a right to her opinion, her beliefs, her faith. At least she’s not pretending to be religious only when it suits her. A hypocrite. Please give one reference to when she has tried to take away that right from any woman? You all go around making these accusations. Why are you not after Obama when Illinois CONTINUES to charge women with insurance for their rape kits? Ask him why women protested him because rape kits were constantly backlogged while he was an Illinois senator. Ask him why he voted for early release for rapist under good behavior? Ask him why he voted against denying anyone citizenship to this country that committed rape, stalking, domestic violence, crimes against children…Ask him how long does it take an infant to lay in a soiled linen room gasping for air to die, or starve to death? Etc. Etc. Don’t come here on your MORAL HIGH GROUND when you have no idea of the atrocities your own candidate committed!

      • Brendy

Diana – I for one appreciate your thought-provoking and EXTREMELY accurate post. THANK YOU FOR POSTING YOUR VIEW – and the TRUTH! I wish to God only MORE people could read this!

      • Susan

That is a lie….she does NOT support the morning after pill or contraception. do you not listen or read???

and your lies on obama are just atrocious. typical hillary/mccain supporter – DUMB!!

        • jvsp

I do believe Illinois still requires women to purchase their rape kits.

As for Palin’s views on sex education, she is against explicit sex education. The key word is “explicit”. Further, she has stated many times she is pro-contraception.

If you want to actually discuss issues, you ought to know your opponent’s positions. It will make the debate meaningful.

          • Michigan Liberal

How would you define ‘explicit sex education’? Was she teaching her daughter abstinence only when her daughter got pregnant? If she believes in contraception what happened with her 17 year old daughter?

She supports contraception, YOU should read.

The Catholic church, of which Joe Biden is a member does NOT support contraception…so what does that say about Joe Biden?

    • jane_tx

Well Judith, you are going to see a Titanic on our hands if Obama is elected. Obama does not have women’s rights as even in the top 40 of his playlist. You can believe otherwise and vote for him, but on that and many other issues you will be disappointed.

Palin was being interviewed and the interview was being edited, dont know if you caught that. When pressed on these kinds of issues politicians generally try to speak to their base and to their own personal beliefs. Palin did that. She is Pro-Life. She also said she did not support any kind of codified retribution on a woman getting an abortion. She didnt say ‘the woman is required to keep the resultant baby from a rape.’ You said that. That was your interpretation. However I dont hear her saying that. What she said is, the ultimate response is counseling and adoption. She didnt say that McCain/Palin would be going out of their way to shut down all the existing organizations that provide abortion for women today. There is a big difference between policy-making on anti-abortion and on having an opinion.
If Roe vs Wade has survived through Reagan, Bush I and Bush II, it or even other legislation can endure. Too much of the country believes it is a woman’s right to choose, as do I.

Im voting McCain/Palin because even though Palin is ProLife, so have many other people Ive respected. This is not the only issue in this campaign.

      • Michigan Liberal

Better think again if you think Roe V Wade won’t be overturned. When McCain/Palin appoints a far right wing judge or two for The Supreme Court it’s open season on Roe V Wade and anything else the right is clamoring for. Can you say ‘Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage’?

    • PhxNickD

Palin’s response to a woman who has been raped and gotten pregnant as a result: sorry, but too bad — you are required to keep it.

Your ignorance is showing, please do not expect us to be as ignorant.

Sarah Palin has never said anyone was required to keep anything when raped. She said she would always support life even in the most horrific of events. I guess shame on her for not being an angry bitch and running for an abortion at first thought. What a lousy person she is! And while she would personally always choose life, she does not want the option of abortion to be dangerous and legal for someone that chooses that path.

    • dnesser

Overturning Roe vs. Wade is a JOKE. Both political parties have been using this for over 35 years. If Roe vs. Wade was ever overturned, the “Choice” issue would go back to the states. The only ones who would panic are Pro-Life Politicians. The Democratic Congress is going to pick-up additional seats and that is where legislation is accomplished. Do you really believe that the Clintons want to lose not only their power but their battle against the far left of our Party? Do you really want to wake-up on 11/5 and have your country run by Pelosi, Reid, Obama and the corrupt political forces of Chicago?

      • Annein PA

I find it hard to believe that a true Clinton supporter would ever vote for Bambi. The Clinton
voters who so easily slid over to O’s campaign never had any insight into who Hillary and Bill (and Biden) truly think is a “great man”. They still don’t when they still repeat what they think “Hillary wants”. That stupid excuse
still being used that Hillary wants people to vote
for Obama is just that, stupid. Hillary wants to be POTUS. She wanted it this time around, but I’m sure she’ll be up to the task in 2012.

        • rachel

and that’s exactly why Bill keeps saying JOHN MCCAIN is a “great man”. He can’t bring himself to use those words to describe O.

        • Michigan Liberal

I can’t beleive that a true Clinton supporter could vote for McCain/Palin or is that Palin/McCain. Anyone who is or ever was a TRUE Hillary Clinton supporter will walk into the voting booth on November 4th and write Hillary Clinton’s name in on their ballot.

    • Carol

I’m sorry, but bringing up Roe v. Wade is nothing but the fraidy cat Dems trying to force us to vote for Obama out of fear. You know this is not going to happen. As VP, Sarah can only cast a vote in the Senate if there is a tie vote, no other time. And if you will think this thing through logically, Roe v. Wade would not ever have a 50-50 vote.

Don’t swallow their lies. I’m not.

      • Bellevue_NW_Voter The Renter

LOL, Carol, good for you. It’s been so long since I’ve seen this much discussion of Roe v. Wade on the NQ threads I’ve read, that I had almost forgotten some people might not have given up trying to use it to move HRC supporters to Obama.

Word to the newcomers: We’ve been there and done that. Been all through it six ways from Sunday in the comment sections of this blog. Roe v. Wade won’t gain you traction here.

        • Michigan Liberal

How about support of workers rights to organize a union? Can you tell me how McCain/Palin supports workers right to organize? With a Republican in the White House, the destruction of unions will continue full speed ahead.

    • oklahomahills

My vote for McCain is actually a vote for the Democratic Party. It is the only hope of restoring that party to the one I was proud of and felt a part of.

If Hillary really supported Obama, believe me there would be no doubt about it.

    • Postmaster

I’m sorry, but anything Couric does or says holds no sway with me after her pitiful performance in trying to humilate another woman. She had plenty of opportunity to help bring out the good in Palin and refused to do so.

I am voting for an American who sacrificed for this country and doesn’t call himself a citizen of the world.

    • athy

      Judith,
the way I look at it-I am not voting for the republican party. I am voting for Sen McCain.
I respect his integrity, judgement, wisdom, strength of character. PERIOD.

With regards to Gov Palin’s response to a pregnant woman who has been raped…
Can you compare this to Sen Obama’s opposition to the partial birth abortion ban (BAIPA)?

If an attempt has been made to abort a fetus and fetus survives after it leaves the mother’s womb…
Sen Obama has STRONGLY PUSHED AGAINST USING ANY MEASURES TO SAVE THE LIFE OF THE CHILD. LET IT DIE.

Please…stop using this argument against Gov Palin beacuse there is always Sen Obama’s position with BAIPA.

Like it or not, Gov Palin’s personal sentiments result in life and Sen Obama’s legislative actions result in sure death-slow, painful, agonizing death of the newly born baby .

I do not agree with Gov Palin’s position however I can agree to disagree with her.

I do not agree with Sen obama’s BAIPA position and as a human being I would do everything in my power to protect the life of a child that has been born alive on to this earth. Our constitution considers this baby that has been born and is out of the mother’s womb -it is considered a PERSON- a person who is now entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Roe vs Wade protects the right of the woman to have control over her own uterus. The Partial Birth Abortion Ban protects the right of a newly born baby(-born because of a botched abortion attempt-)to live.

      You see the difference?

I can not have a civil disagreement with Sen Obama’s postion on BAIPA. It is a moral imperative as well as a constitutional issue for me.

      P.S I am pro choice.

I supported Hillary Clinton right to the end and have been a Dem all my life. I feel no shame or discomfort in voting for McCain this year for the very reasons stated in Marc’s essay. I not only distrust Obama’s competency but absolutely believe that the senior leadership of the Democratic Party is thoroughly corrupt–Dean, Pelosi, Frank, Brazile [and the list goes on].

They need to be outed and find employment elsewhere.

BTW, did anyone catch the slugfest on Fox last night between O’Reilly and Barney Frank. I frequently think O’Reilly is a windbag but he ripped Frank a new “you know what.”

    • Kal

I agree — My candidate is Hillary, but I learned way too much about how the dems operate to go for BO. So I’m for cleaning house the best and most honorable way we can, and that’s with McCain/Palin.

      PUMA!!

    • jane_tx

I agree, I dont normally like these kinds of outbursts parading as interviews, but I think Barney Frank had it coming. sputtering about how all this is the Repubs fault. Im tired of these lies!
Ive been a Democrat all my life and Im ashamed of these people! They dont represent me, and worst of all they are playing politics right in the middle of absolute chaos and financial ruin of the Nation.
      I could just choke them.

      • Annein PA

How many of us lifelong Democrats are ashamed of our party? I know I’m one. I just have to vote for the honorable man and the cheerful and proud woman who love their country.
They just make sense to me. I like them alot and feel great, for the first time in my life, about voting Republican all the way down ticket this year.

        • Helen C

i for one am ashamed of the DemocRATS.

        • Michigan Liberal

If you can vote a straight Republican ticket then you never were a Democrat. The Republican Party is run by the neocons and that should scare the hell out of anyone. Let’s remember what the Republicans have gave us. Iraq war, warrantless wiretapping, union busting, deregulation and privatization of everything under the sun. I agree there’s a few bad apples in the Democratic Party but not nearly as many as the Republicans have(think Mark Foley-gate,Jack Abramoff and George Allen’s macaca moment).

I saw a friend yesterday who has hated Bush as much as I have these last 8 yrs. She told me she is working the phones for Obama so I asked her to give me ONE REASON I should vote for him or one reason he was qualified to be President.

SHE COULD NOT NAME ONE REASON! She started by telling me what was wrong with Hillary–I told her since Hillary was no longer in the race to give me one reason to vote BO.

She couldn’t do it. This woman reads the NYT and liberal blogs; she had never heard half the stuff I knew about Bambi–his rise to power in Chicago; the money he’s taken from Wall St, etc.

She finally said, well, he’ll bring change. I wanted to scream! I think a lot of Dems are just like her.
I finally put a Nader sticker and a PUMA sticker on my bumper as a protest here in ObamaLand (SF Bay Area) but my husband and I are voting McCain/Palin because this is bigger than Hillary.

You’re right, the Democratic Party cannot be rewarded for their behavior and needs a big housecleaning.

What I dont think people get is that these associations of Obama, his connections, his ties, it all reads like bad fiction. No one could believe that someone with so many questionable associations could be in such an exalted position. I think that many people simply dont believe what is being said about him. Truth is often stranger than fiction.

Judith, please reconsider your position1 This is no ordinary election – voting party is not an option if you love your country. An Obama win will change our country forever.

—————————————————– The Republicans are not solely at fault for the mess we are in, the Democrats voted for this stuff too. Obama has received almost $1 million from Fannie and freddie in less than 3 yrs as a US Senator. Yeah he is a different kind of politician. As for Roe v Wade, McCain and Palin will not try to reverse it, that is you obama supporters using scare tactics that you acuse everyone else of using. I refuse to put an anti american into the office of President of the United States. Whether he admits it lies about it or not, all the signs are there that he IS anti-american.

cathy what in heaven’s name can you be thinking? our country’s future is at stake. so you disagree with palin on aborption. well excuse me i do too but i am voting for her. she doesn’t want to shove it down your throat. carter didn’t like it either but he didn’t want to shove down our throats either. they aren’t reversing roe v wade. the demcorats haven’t safeguarded anything include roe. they let the repubs take it all. in fact they wrapped it up and handed it to them. wake up and smell the corruption.

couric? you have to be kidding. she is frigging joke out to make palin look bad for obambi. don’t let the media lead you around by the nose. PLEASE!

cathy 6224 — McCain warned of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2005. He co-sponsored a bill for more oversight — it went nowhere. The Democrats allowed Fannie and Freddie to go belly up and watched as the banks failed because they were waiting for the ultimate scare issue to win the election. Also, let us not forget Franklin Raines who advises Obama and who took 90 Mill out before the axe fell. The Democratic Party is no longer the party of the people.

    • Goblintrain

Roe vs Wade isn’t going to be overturned, regardless of any one’s personal belief, and her personal belief is what Governor Palin was addressing -her own ideal about personal choice & respect for unborn life. Do not try to exploit her views as a mandate about abortion; that is a cheap blow using an extremely difficult issue for every one! She has categorically opposes turning women into criminals over an abortion. I am pro-life too, but recognize that government can neither legislate respect for unborn life nor enforce most abortion procedures any more than it could enforce prohibition in the 1920′s-30′s.

Imo, the most restriction we will ever see on abortion under any administration would be in the government’s role of facilitating/funding them, and/or in legal clarification of the civil rights of the unborn who would be viable outside the womb. And, call me wrong, but i think the large majority of Americans view such procedures with disgust as well.

Lets put this another way: if abortion were ever made outright criminal on the national level here in the USA, i think Roe vs Wade would be pretty low on on our thermometer of worries. Why? We would all be more concerned about regaining the 1st & 2nd amendment, & 3rd & 4th, Balance of Powers, & etc etc etc… you get where i’m going.

But,again, thats just my opinion on an extremely difficult & charged issue; just like Governor Palin has her own opinion on the issue too, & all the rest of you do as well.

  • Goblintrain

Marc, thank you for reaching across party lines with this article. I believe that this election we all are having to make some partisan concessions in order to safeguard our Capital value: the future of Liberty & democratic process in our Great nation.

As a Reagan conservative i find myself in an unprecedented place as well. I back a Republican, McCain that is more liberal than myself & dearly wishing he were running against a Democrat, HRC, who is more liberal than him. Why do i compromise? Because, that is what the nation needs right now, & i think that is what President Reagan would do right now too.

Lets consider some things here. I find it humorous that you list a number of reasons why Obama looks more like Bush than McCain. While we may take opposite sides on the virtue of those particular points, i share your disgust at Obama’s shameless lack of integrity in trying to adopt them as his own. Obama is a political doppleganger, and correct me if i’m wrong, but a doppleganger is only a shell of what it appears to be. Beneath the skin it is a monster!

I did not know McCain had promised to be a 1 term president, though it makes sense that he would be. I also appreciate that you dispel some misconceptions about Roe vs Wade. This is a radioactive issue that no 1 term administration is going to commit political suicide over, & no supreme court justice is going to risk civil upheaval for. McCain & Palin have both made it very clear that they have no intention of criminalizing abortion, regardless of their personal views on the issue. As much as Obama’s people have tried to use Palin’s conservative religious views against her, it just doesn’t stick. Both candidate’s on the Republican ticket have demonstrated a remarkably moderate, hands-off approach to matters of faith in personal choices and politics, and the Obama camp has earned serious credibility problems in such accusations.

From, a different angle, while we are discussing the politics of fear, let me point out one danger that is clear & present: unipolar extremism! We all saw how unhealthy 2000-2006 was under Bush with Republicans in majority. We are looking at this again if Obama is elected, but with Democrat majority. Would it surprise you that one-party dominance like that has nearly always proved disastrous in our nations history? Obama, together with the most hated & mistrusted congress in our nations history will not & CAN NOT bring our country together! he will inevitably polarize it more, tearing it asunder. Consider the other option. How much partisan damage can McCain do in a one term administration while checked by a Democrat majority in both houses? If anything, it behooves him to hold true to his campaign promise to work with the opposition in the interest of the American people. As a conservative, is this ideal to me? No, of course it isn’t. Problem is, i love America, and i know that i serve my conservative values better through bipartisanship than through stalwart obstructionism! On the other hand, Obama if elected will not need bipartisanship. He will not need cooperation. He can effectively get rubber stamp approval to turn his back on half the nation.

This is a year that requires Americans to set aside differences and unite! Mark has correctly pointed out that McCain is a moderate. As a Conservative or a Liberal, don’t lose sleep over voting for him next month. As a Liberal or a Conservative, you are not betraying your partisan values by doing so, you are defending them! I mean that! How so? Integrity! We keep our Nation & our democratic process intact, & survive to debate our differences 2008-2012. Now is not the time for partisan politics, now is the time to defeat Barry on November 4th!

    • mcpalin hill

Goblin Train — Its interesting to hear this from the other side. I have been a lifelong Dem as have my parents and their parents before them but I am not a liberal. I think they’re nuts. I am voting for McCain because he is moderate. I fear that Obama is a Dictator and will not govern with anyone in mind but himself. The Black Liberation Theology thing is what frightens me. I worry about all this money that was given to him and a media which will destroy anyone who stands in his way. I am willing to bite the bullet on issues I care about to make sure that we have a Principled man in the job.

        TY, McPalin Hill

The BLT is pretty darn scary, and even little Elizabeth Hasselbeck on the View called Obama down on that -sad that she was harder on him than big bad Bill O was on the Factor. You know, over the years i’ve seen conspiracies & hate/fear rumors, come, go, recycle themselves again & on & on.

Problem here is that the claims of racism & hate mongering in BLT is not one of those rumors. Its advocates make little effort to disguise it. Study its history, read its books. It is proud to hate America, especially White America. In fact God doesn’t exist unless he exists to destroy the white man, & all whites share equally in the racial crimes of their ancestors simply by merit of their skin color.

However, the most outrageous aspect of this though is that its our own MSM treats the topic as radio-active. There is simply no way Obama can attend a BLT church for 20 years, or write the things he has in his books if he did not ascribe to the racist views of BLT. It obviously disqualifies him for consideration as CIC, but our media is too PC to tell the truth about racism in America. Cowards, all of them!

Since the president is checked by the legislative branch, how could a black president discriminate and punish white people? Scaring white people about having black people in places of power is one of the oldest tricks in the Republican play book. McCain opposes equal pay for women.

“All of which brings us to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who skipped the vote on equal pay altogether because he was out campaigning. (Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama both showed up to support it.) McCain’s opposition to the bill was expressed thusly: He’s familiar with the pay disparity but believes there are better ways to help women find better-paying jobs. “They need the education and training, particularly since more and more women are heads of their households, as much or more than anybody else.” As my colleague Meghan O’Rourke pointed out yesterday, all that is code for the obtuse claim that the fact that women earn 77 cents on the dollar for the same work as men will somehow be fixed by more training for women as opposed to less discrimination by men. Wow. Hey! We should develop the superpowers of heat vision and flight, as well.”

    • Typical Bitter Whitey Woman

Women staffers in Obama’s office make less on average than women working for McCain or Clinton.

      • Morgan

I think this needs clarification. McCain’s female employees make MORE than the men in the campaign, where Obama’s make less compared to men in the campaign.

Maybe Obama is trying to prove the 77 cents number, that’s just about what he pays. McCain may not think he needs legislation because he’s not a dickhead to his female employees.

        • PhxNickD

As of last month 13 or McCain’s top 20 staff were female making on the average of $1.01 per each $1.00 men made to Obama’s staff where 7 of the top 20 were female and made $0.77 for each dollar men made.

McCain chose Palin, Obama did not choose Hillary. Yep, McCain sure does hate women!

And the bill that McCain did not vote on – it was not that “females” could not sue their company after 180 days for unequal pay. It was that “workers” could not sure their company after 180 days for unequal pay. (Just so happened to be more were female then men.)

          • Michigan Liberal

McCain didn’t choose Palin. The right wing nut case base of the party TOLD McCain he had to pick Palin.

        • bart

Good point. One thing. I’ve seen the pay schedule for both Obama and McCain Senate staffers – which may or may not include campaign personnel.

McCain pays women, on average, better than Obama.
McCain pays more to women in higher positions and has more women in higher positions than Obama.

Women working for McCain average more money than the men and hold most high level positions and average more than men in those higher positions.

In both cases, overall average and average of high paying positions, McCain pays women more than Obama AND pays women more than men on his staff.

    • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

      http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=35972

While Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has produced a
television ad criticizing Sen. John McCain’s position on equal pay for
women and pointing out that women in America are paid only 77 cents on
the dollar compared to men, Obama pays his own female Senate staffers,
on average, only 78 percent of what he pays male staffers.

Women on McCain’s staff, meanwhile, earn 24 percent more on average
than women on Obama’s Senate staff. McCain also pays his female
Senate staff members a higher average salary than his male Senate
      staff members.

Women occupy seven of the top 10 highest-paid positions on McCain’s
staff, and five of the top 10 highest-paid positions on Obama’s staff.
The numbers come from the most recent Report of the Secretary of the
Senate, which includes the salaries of every member of each U.S.
senator’s staff during the period of Oct. 1, 2007 through March 31,
      2008.

This is the second consecutive six-month period reviewed by
CNSNews.com in which McCain, an Arizona Republican, has paid women on
his Senate staff a higher average salary than he pays men and Obama
has paid men a higher average salary than he pays women.

The pay gap between men and women in McCain’s office closed in the
most recent six-month period compared to the previous period, but the
pay gap widened slightly in Obama’s office. The CNSNews.com analysis
included all staff members for each Senator—except those listed as
“interns”—that were included in the Report of the Secretary of the
      Senate.

Gender issues have played a role in the presidential race recently as
McCain picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, the first
woman to be nominated for vice president by the Republican Party. This
week, the National Organization for Women formally endorsed Obama for
      president.

In the period from October 1 through March 31, Obama paid women on his
Senate staff an average annual salary of $44,953.21, which was $12,472
less than the $57,425.00 average annual salary he paid men. Women
outnumbered men on the staff 30 to 27.

McCain paid women on his Senate staff an average annual salary of
$55,777.39, which was marginally higher than the average annual salary
of $55,165.29 that he paid men.

That is why Mccains senate staff has more women than men and pays the women $1.04 to the mans $1.00. Obama in turn pays women .84 to the mans $1.00 and has more men then women. As reported by senate records. Another example of Obama’s blah blah blah or shall I say PRESENT

Try looking at the facts about McCain and pay equity: He’s the only candidate who is genuinely in favor of equal pay for women and men who do the same job:

      Biden Bucks His Equity Talk
For every dollar that he paid his average male staffer, his female equivalent made only 73 cents.

      By Deroy Murdock

Two weeks ago, I explored the gap between Barack Obama’s rhetoric on pay equity and the reality of how he pays women in his Senate office. While Obama preaches equal pay for equal work, he does not practice it on Capitol Hill.

Well, it turns out that his running mate, Joe Biden, is even worse.

Based on calculations using Senate pay records posted by LegiStorm.com, a political transparency organization, between October 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008, Obama’s 28 male staffers divided among themselves total payroll expenditures of $1,523,120. Thus, Obama’s average male employee earned $54,397 on an annualized basis.

Obama’s 30 female employees split $1,354,580 among themselves, or $45,152, on average.

Among Obama’s top five highest-paid — and likely most senior — employees, one was female. Among his top 20, seven were women.

All told, for every dollar that Obama paid his average male staffer, his female counterpart made just 83 cents.

As for Biden, his 14 male staffers split a total payroll outlay of $1,077,128.40. So, Biden’s average male employee earned $76,937.74 per annum.

Biden’s 27 female employees divided $1,517,874.47, or $56,217.57, on average.

Among Biden’s top five highest-paid aides, one was a woman. Among the top 20, 11 were women.

All told, for every dollar that Biden paid his average male staffer, his female equivalent made only 73 cents.

This number is significant. Not only does Biden discount women by more than a quarter per dollar paid to men, on average. Biden collides into the standard by which his own campaign berates major companies for alleged pay discrimination.

Beneath the website banner “Fighting for Pay Equity,” Obama-Biden’s women’s issues page complains that, “Despite decades of progress, women still make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. A recent study estimates it will take another 47 years for women to close the wage gap with men at Fortune 500 corporate offices.”

Biden actually pays his average female employees four cents less than the level that triggers outrage on his own campaign’s website!

Nevertheless, Obama and Biden have the gall to go after McCain on this topic. The Democrats Monday launched an ad in Ohio in which Lilly Ledbetter, a Supreme Court litigant on pay equity, attacks McCain because he “opposed a law to give women equal pay for equal work. And he dismissed the wage gap, saying women just need education and training.”

McCain told the Associated Press last April 23: “I am all in favor of pay equity for women, but this kind of legislation, as is typical of what’s being proposed by my friends on the other side of the aisle, opens us up to lawsuits for all kinds of problems…This is government playing a much, much greater role in the business of a private-enterprise system.”

Far more important is that McCain actually follows Obama and Biden’s gospel on this issue, almost to a fault.

McCain’s 17 male staffers split $916,914, thus averaging $53,936. His 25 female employees divided $1,396,958 and averaged $55,878.

On average, these figures show, women in John McCain’s Senate office make $1.04 for every dollar a man makes — a full 31 cents higher than Biden pays. (For detailed figures see this chart. I outline my methodology in my previous piece.)

In short, when it comes to implementing pay equity on Capitol Hill, the Democratic nominees talk a great game. However, in a three-way match-up, McCain earns the gold medal while Obama and Biden score silver and bronze, respectively.

To hear Obama and Biden taunt McCain on this issue is like being at the Beijing Olympics and hearing 200-meter butterfly medalists Cseh Laszlo of Hungary (silver) and Matsuda Takeshi of Japan (bronze) tell America’s gold-plated Michael Phelps to go take swimming lessons.

    • jbjd

Proclaiming anyone in public offices wants to revoke the Civil Rights Acts in order to allow employers to pay their female employees less than they pay their male employees only confirms your ignorance of the facts. (Perhaps you meant to say that Senator McCain opposes a law that would extend the 180-day statute of limitations for filing a discrimination complaint under the Act, based on a claim of pay inequity?)

    • mcpalin hill

stodgie — This is part of an e-mail I received from The Republican Party. It has gotten practically no coverage at all. Obama is cheating in this election already. This is not the kind of person I would ever vote for.

The stakes are extremely high and voters are already casting their ballots for the general election. You may have heard the media reports out of Ohio about same-day registration and voting. The Obama-Biden Democrats and their allies are exploiting loopholes in Ohio election laws that we fear may result in unqualified voters casting ballots. They’re also hoping our voters will be so confused, that they will throw up their hands in frustration and stay at home instead of voting. That’s why it’s important to re-double our efforts.

The Democratic Secretary of State in Ohio even tried to disqualify thousands of Republican absentee ballot applications. She enlisted the help of liberal partisan friends and special interest groups when we challenged this in court. Thankfully, we were successful in taking the case all the way to the Ohio Supreme Court and won the right to reinstate these absentee ballot applications. The Obama-Biden Democrats will likely try this shameful, partisan tactic in other targeted states. They’ll do anything to win this election

No conflict for me. I voted for Edwards, but the more I learned about Obama the less I either liked or respected him. I’ve been reading about him for eight months. Nothing could get me to vote for him. The only way to assure that BO does not win is to vote for McCain. Staying home, voting third party or writing in a name is a vote for Barack Obama. John McCain is a man of honor and a good strong leader. He is a patriotic American hero who always has and always will put country first.

    WE WILL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!

John McCain is a man of honor and a good strong leader.

Yes John McCain is a man of honor. Obama does not know what the word honor means. Making the statement that our troops in Afghanistan are bombing and killing civilians or words to that effect, are words that come from a dishonorable person.

I don’t even want to think about where Obama would lead us.

He understands that the “DEMONCRATS” – as he calls them – have sold themselves to the devil by subverting votes, money, people and rules in order to have Obama run.

WE all feel that the DEMS don’t deserve the election.

Thank God we had a strong leader like Roosevelt who kept our Democracy in tact. Who know what would happen with Obama in?

  • HILLARY 2012

    WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED

As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted to us by our forefathers. WE THE PEOPLE expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected.

In the Democratic Primary, this was not the case. The DNC deprived voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee.

That didn’t happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for “dinners, I-pods”,etc.

There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign.

This documentary is about the disenfranchising of Americans by the DNC and the Obama Campaign. We the People have made this film. Democrats have sent in their stories from all parts of America.

We believe Obama’s Chicago Machine of dirty politics encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote, which is all documented in WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.

    BREAKING!!!!
    BREAKING!!!!
    BREAKING!!!!

Obama has met Ayers, but the two are not close!

    Source: NY Times

At a tumultuous meeting of anti-Vietnam War militants at the Chicago Coliseum in 1969, Bill Ayers helped found the radical Weathermen, launching a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and United States Capitol.

Twenty-six years later, at a lunchtime meeting about school reform in a Chicago skyscraper, Barack Obama met Mr. Ayers, by then an education professor. Their paths have crossed sporadically since then, at a coffee Mr. Ayers hosted for Mr. Obama’s first run for office, on the schools project and a charitable board, and in casual encounters as Hyde Park neighbors.

    • benny

is that all you have? keep ignoring facts? same old, same old. NYT? lol

      • katmandu

I think by “breaking, breaking” he’s just warning us that he’s about to break wind.

Newsweek has an article up about Obama lying ONCE AGAIN about McCain’s stand on Social Security:

        http://www.newsweek.com/id/162103?from=rss

        • Ivory Bill Woodpecker

“…warning us he’s about to break wind”

Oh, so that’s why his posts stink! ;)

    • PhxNickD

that so called “coffee” was in Ayers living room and Obama’s political career was kicked off on the “front steps” of ayers home. as someone who works with elected officials – the phrase of “you scratch my back and I scratch yours” stands out for me and scares me when I think about Obama repaying Ayers.

      • lusitania

Yea, can Obama be trusted not to make Bill Ayers his Secretary of Education.

    • Carol

Investigative reporting by the NYT? That’s laughable.

The UIC records show that Obama and Ayers attended board meetings, retreats and at least one news conference together as the education program got under way. The two continued to attend meetings together during the 1995-2001 operation of the program, records show.

At a Democratic debate this year when the association between Obama and Ayers was raised, Obama said: “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood. . . . He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.” Obama called Ayers’ past radical acts detestable.

But critics note that Obama visited Ayers’ home for a meeting at the start of his first state Senate bid in the mid-’90s.

The UIC records showed that Ayers was instrumental in securing the $50 million education grant to reform Chicago Public Schools, part of a national initiative funded by the late Ambassador Walter Annenberg. . After Chicago was awarded the money, Obama served as president of the Challenge’s board of directors, the fiscal arm that disbursed the grants to schools and raised private matching funds. Ayers participated in a second entity known as the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, the operational arm that worked with the grant recipients.

      http://michellemalkin.com/2008/08/27/obamas-ayers-problem-deepens/

The massive collection of newly released documents — 140 boxes full of them — includes agendas that clearly put Obama and Ayers in the same room for meetings of Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an educational initiative that Ayers was instrumental in starting and that Obama chaired in the 1990s.

      http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/26/newly-released-documents-highlight-obamas-relationship-with-ayers/

There is more you can find if you just Google Obama and Ayers.

      • Michigan Liberal

Hmm, Michelle Malkin, total right wing nut case. Fox News Channel is the Republican News Channel. Owned by conservative Rupert Murdoch and run by conservative Roger Ailes. No bias there huh.

    • Butter

I don’t believe this statement of the NYT is the full story. I think Obama met Ayers when he was at Columbia University. This would have been in the early 80s, not 1994 as the NYT says. Ayers was staying in NY at the time and lived a block from the campus. A druggy friend of Obama’s knew Ayers and they partied together – I think. I read where they were in close proximity and they had the connection of the druggy friend.

    • mommakk

As of last month 13 or McCain’s top 20 staff were female making on the average of $1.01 per each $1.00 men made to Obama’s staff where 7 of the top 20 were female and made $0.84 for each dollar men made.

I’m a 30 yr Dem and I will gladly support McCain/Palin this time around.

Some people have a hard time going over to the “dark side”. They believe Republicans are trolls and Democrats are knights in shining armour. It’s a fairy tale, as Clinton said. The truth is much more complicated. Biden for instance, voted for the Defense of Marriage Act, while Palin vetoed a bill that would have denied gays benefits. Harry Reid voted to uphold a ban on providing access to contraception for our troops. Republican appointed judges on the Supreme Court gave us Roe V Wade and again in California it was Republican judges who upheld the gay marriage amendment. Politics is a complicated and interwoven story, not a simple fairy tale where the bad guys wear red and the good guys wear blue.

And ultimately it is the people who rule although in our quest for the perfect politician we’ve kind of forgotten that the government, both parties, exist to serve us. No politician ever delivered us an end to child labor, slavery, civil rights, the right to vote. Every bit of progress in this country was made because the people demanded it and it became politically expedient for politicians to respond.

    • katmandu

What an excellent comment. And I’d add that sometimes “knights in shining armor” do things that produce unintended consequences, like setting up a regulatory regime that promoted unsafe lending practices. I like to think that the Democrats who got us into the current financial mess did so out of incompetence, and not merely because of the thirty pieces of silver the Fannie people threw their way.

John McCain fought the tobacco industry. Here in Virginia the Democratic Party still marches to the industry beat. I could go on and on.

I have no interest in talking politics with people who blindly follow a single party.

    • Ani

Great piece, Marc. Thanks so much for posting this. I am going to make sure all my friends who haven’t already seen the light read this. I just dropped by the local Republican Party office, gave them a small donation and picked up two McCain/Palin yard signs and a couple of stickers for my car.

I did this because I was warned that the Obamamaniacs will be coming to our town this weekend (and will be here until 11/4) to get out the vote. I’m hoping this will keep them off my doorstep, but I’m not hopeful because I’m sure they are going to go out of their way to try to convince this registered Democrat to vote for O.

Hmmmm, I need to park my husband’s pickup in the driveway so they can see his NRA sticker (he’s also a registered democrat).

  • Shiloh

I’d like to see Marc clarify his comment about McCain promising to serve only one term. I long ago predicted he would do that, but at this late date I don’t know. At any rate he hasn’t made that promise yet, so what is Marc referring to?

    • Michigan Liberal

Hmmm, now there’s something for all you Hillary supporters to think on. You’re figuring we’ll put up with four years of McCain and then we can elect Hillary in 2012. Face it, if McCain were to run a second term in 2012 he would beat Hillary because he would be the incumbent president.

  • OBAMA IS A FRAUD

No one with a brain who is an adult and love America would EVER think of voting for Barky and Snarky. It’s not even an issue anymore. Voting for Obama is ridiculous. He’s the shadiest, most amoral, dishonest, lazy, incompetent, criminal, liar, fraud ever perpetrated on the voters of this country. There is not political party on the PLANET that is worth destroying America. Especially not the DNC who has shown that they couldn’t care less about their members, they are liars and corrupt cheaters who have absolutely destroying the Constitutional principle of one person, one vote. The DNC needs to be brought to its knees, cleaned out of the criminals and rebuilt. Dems need to vote McCain/Palin, let them rebuild America, while they rebuild their party. There is NO other answer to this. NONE. Obama will destroy this country. Most decent people are TERRIFIED of him. And, Biden? ROFLMAO. Wow, what a buffoon. After last night’s debate, any of my Hillary friends who were mildly on the fence have crossed over with JOY.

PS Anyone who is sitting here LYING that Hillary supports Obama is a TROLL. We’re ALL smarter than that. If you people love Hillary, give her a chance to run against Palin in 12! Wow, what history that will make!!!

    • lark

LYING that Hillary supports Obama is a TROLL

I guess I fit that bill, except for the lying. My statement says that, ‘Hillary supports Obama.’

If she wants, she could run against Mrs. Palin and a whole host of other people interested in doing that.

      • Ani

I truly doubt that, Lark. No matter what arm twisting they do to get her to toe the party line. Barky is so jealous of her and intimidated by her he will stop at nothing to squash her and as president he will do just that — she would have very little hope of ever running — she could not run against the incumbent of the party in 2012. By 2016 she’d be 68 — imagine then the ageism and the sexism she’d have to deal with.

After this woman fought like no one has ever fought under the most ridiculous bias and pressure, do you really think she does not want a real shot in 2012? If you still believe she genuinely wants us to support Obama, I beg to differ with you. She is quite aware how dangerous he is.

Why do you think Bill Clinton keeps doing interviews calling McCain a great man. He doesn’t say that about Obama. If that isn’t a signal to America that he thinks it’s ok to vote for McCain, I don’t know what is. Bill is doing this to protect his wife. She still has to play at the DNC table. He does not.

I get emails from her campaign — they are never about Obama — always about supporting down ticket dems — particularly women.

  • v1cious

okay, have you guys gone completely off the deep end now? you say you don’t want to live in a socialist America… yet you support HILLARY! hello!? Universal Health Care?! what the hell do you call that?

    • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

      Yawn!

    • HC

I call it a legitimate question for the political process. Hillary would make her case, and try to get Congress to take action on this issue. I would make my feelings on it known by voting and speaking to people about my position.

I am not a fan of government run more-or-less single payer healthcare – I have lived that first hand in England and Canada – NO THANKS, they sound better than they are!

This wouldn’t stop me from evaluating what Hillary had to offer as a candidate, and voting or not voting for her based on the available alternatives. I am not a single issue voter and never have been.

Did that answer your question or do I need to use smaller words?

      • lark

The word ‘universal’ is what does the trick. Hillary’s solution is a terrible one but it has one important value, it is ‘universal.’ Any solution needs to be ‘universal.’

McCain’s has much more potential to work better but he does not call it ‘universal.’ For McCain’s solution to work, employer’s groups need to cease to exist. That in our present environment does not look very feasible.

What’s hurting health care (so called) insurance is the concept of ‘employer’s groups.’ Employer’s groups has within it the processes that makes it anti-democratic.

I have a solution to the health care crisis that does not cost a penny to the government or to anyone. But it requires the abolition of our present system as it presently functions. It’s really a dandy but it is so different that the powers to be would not consider it. Why? Because it would work.

Whatever is done with health care it must not work in order to work. That’s what define our society these days. You must get ripped off by the powers to be in order for you to get in it.

      • Annein PA

I agree that Healthcare is Hillary’s baby. I don’t know if it would ever pass Congress, but it
is one issue that I don’t base my support for her on.

    • Seattle Moss

      Times have changed…

Maybe in 2006 Health care and getting out of Iraq were driving issues.

Now saving the core of American business and victory with honor are the priorities.

Like Sarah said.. quit looking backwards!

Obama and his minions are.. “So Yesterday”

      • mcpalin hill

Seattle Moss — The issue I will be voting on this year is keeping our Democracy in tact. Obama is not an American. He has no business running for President of this country. He says he’s a citizen of the world. McCain is a real American and proud of it. Saving our Democracy is the most important issue there is.

  • v1cious

    good article.

i see lots of posters in recent months say only a defeat for BO will force the Dem party to clean up its act.

    • Bellevue_NW_Voter The Renter

Do you have a reference on that?

  • Canadian

Thank you for a brilliant piece.

I have been developing this idea for a while, so I’m delighted to see it developed so well. Remember in the McCain/Obama debate when McCain alerted the audience to the same inflexible thinking portrayed by Obama as seen in Bush? An important moment for everyone to observe that the parallels between Bush and Obama are far tighter than himself to Bush.

Forget the party name. After all, with fundamentally only 2 parties, one can fasion it anyway one wants, and Obama certainly has. His Marxist ideology in any other country would never qualify him as a Democrat. Those supporting him have no idea that Obama is a wolf in sheep’s clothes.

  • steel magnolia

Marc – I agree with you 100 percent! Never ever has my family voted Republican, but we all are this year. I don’t recognize the Democratic Party anymore – it’s been hijacked by the left wing fanatic lunatics and that’s not the party I support. Let them eat cake and barf it up on Nov 5!

Obama is hiding his real beliefs – anti-white and anti-American – and all the Obama supporters just gloss the fact over the fact that he sat in that church with those beliefs for 20 years, cheering and applauding those kinds of hate speeches.

    Comment by HILLARY 2012 | 2008-10-03 18:59:43

We believe Obama’s Chicago Machine of dirty politics encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote, which is all documented in WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.

    http://wewillnotbesilenced2008.com/video/index.htm

    ==========================================

Thanks Hillary2012 for posting this. I am producing this film. I can tell you this…Hillary won the nomination. We documented it, and so did people like Dr. Lynette Long. From start to finish Obama cheated. There is no question. Not only that, but we have footage from that BULLS**T phony “roll call” in Denver of delegates who were threatened to an inch of their lives that if they didn’t give their Hillary votes to Obama they would be called “racists” and their careers would be over. We have sooo much more footage, including an interview with Gloria Allred about all of it. We are going to keep going with the film and expose every minute of Obama’s filthy, dirty campaign. All the way to the Sexism, the ACORN nonsense, his disgusting, vile associations, his illegal contributions from our enemies, you name it. It’s sad that we can’t get the press to pay more attention to this. But we just interviewed with one of the largest papers in the world and I believe they will break our story soon. Trust me, we won’t stop until the public knows the TRUTH and the DNC and Obama Campaign PAY for what they have done to HILLARY, THE VOTERS AND AMERICA. Obama is a disgrace to this country. PERIOD. And all of you idiot Democrats can go to hell. This is AMERICA and we are NOT a Third World Country. Get over this “party” nonsense and vote for AMERICA. If I hear one more liberal rant and lie about “what Hillary wants…” ROFLMAO…give me a break. Like she wants you to vote for the guy that stuck a knife in her back and committed voter fraud to keep her out of the White House. Are liberals ALL that stupid????

    • Annein PA

This liberal isn’t stupid. Or liberal anymore after
that fiasco of a cheating, lying, corrupt primary.

  • BSueLA

It’s more than being ashamed of party, although I completely understand. The director of our film comes from a glowing Democratic history, including an uncles who was the Governor of Massachusetts. It was hard for her to make our film, and leave her party. But she has registered GOP or Independent (forgot which one) and is voting for McCain. Her first vote for the GOP. Me too. I was a registered Independent and might have voted for Hillary. My mother is in love with Hillary. I wanted to make an intelligent choice and watch a fair, decent election. I didn’t get that. I got theft, fraud, disenfranchisement, dirty tactics, lies, cheating, stealing, you name it. Every day of my life I feel like I have to wash the STINK of Democrats off of me. Making this film, and seeing what I have seen, has broken my heart for America. I never will do this again. Never. I will stick with the film business. As sleazy as people think Hollywood can be, the Obama Campaign has brought new meaning to the word SLEAZE. Ughhhh….Please God let America prevail and deliver us a McCain/Palin win.

    • Annein PA

Oh my.. my thoughts exactly…please God deliver us
      from this evil…

      • Michigan Liberal

Deliver us from this evil??? Look what the Republicans have given us for decades. Read the Republican platform for 2008. It’s the same old party it’s been under Bush. More privatization – read Social Security for those close to retirement age. More anti labor. More deregulation. More shoot first talk later foreign policy. Take a look at their platform and tell us you can really support all that.

Is this movie going mainstream? We need all the help we can get to put this in front of the American voters who only hear the Obama side of things which are lies. They have an army out there and the counter attack has to be fierce. so far that hasn’t been allowed to happen. We know the truth because we are here, but most people I talk to have no idea of the truth and time is of the essence now. It is getting down to the final chance to make a difference and save this country from disaster. Thank you for the great work. Please get it out asap if that is your intent.

  • fif

    My favorite passages:
Like it or not, the record shows McCain is the real reformer and the real deal, while Obama is what most of the 18 million Democrats who voted against him know him to be — a snake oil salesman who has managed to bamboozle a lot of dumb, impressionable people.

BRAVO MARC!! You speak for me, thank you!

I suggest you do some reading on American History and the 2 party system and then you might have something meaningful and constructive to add to your posts other than reactive ignorance.

Why then work too hard when we will be watched over by our great and wonderful Oz, err govt? Our all knowing, all loving govt will be there to rescue us. Don’t forget whose idea the bailout was in the first place, GEORGE W. BUSH. Last time I checked, plenty of Republicans both House and Senate voted for the bailout too. Republican deregulation is what broke the system in the first place.

Rose — We ARE grown up. Check out how long most of us have been Democrats. McCain is not Bush and Obama is not presidential material. We are not going to be led like lambs to the slaughter for a so-called Democrat. Once the DNC moved their headquarters to Chicago I was done. Catch a clue Rose.

The Republican Party didn’t do the damage alone.

George W. Bush did this damage. With the support of both corrupt Republicans AND CORRUPT DEMOCRATS.

Just look at the very Congressional Democrats and Republicans that sided with Bush in supporting the original tainted version of the bailout bill almost two weeks ago as an example.

To only blame the Republican party for the horrible state this country’s in now is just plain assbackwards.

    • Newly Independent

John McCain is the best frontrunning choice we have left.

    • Carol

McCain’s already talking about privatizing SS

No he’s not. He did say at one time that he would give those under 50 the option of putting some of their FICA withholdings into a private account

At least under the Repubs (prior to the last 8 yrs) they were/are for less government. Obama’s plan is for an overinflated government that will interfere in all aspects of our lives.

It has been told by many people to many people that there is a video tape showing Michelle Obama stating how she really feels about the people (you know the ones who look like the ones on the U.S. bills).

It is reported that she says the word “whitey” in a less than flattering way.

It now does not matter how bad McCain/Palin are since it is obvious that obama is anti-America. His plan to redistribute the wealth in America is right out of Castro’s and Stalin’s play book. Any American who votes for obama has not listened to what he has said…they have only heard his voice. obama has no use for America as we know it and wants to change it to fit his dream of financial equality even if you are so sorry you refuse to work. Rose — Obama took the second highest amount of money from Fannie and Freddie and his top advisor Franklin Raines was a top executive for them. He took 90 Million when he left. Come back when you have something to say about principles, because Obama has none.

      • Carol

FactCheck.org on Obama’s misleading ad regarding McCain on SS:

        More Social Security Spin
        October 2, 2008
Obama-Biden ad misrepresents the Social Security plan McCain supported. Again.
        Summary
An Obama-Biden TV ad once again twists McCain’s position on Social Security.

It claims he backed a “plan to risk your Social Security in the stock market.” In fact, the plan McCain endorsed in 2005 would have been voluntary, and workers could have put only one-third of their Social Security pension fund taxes into private accounts.
The new ad also asks viewers to imagine “your future retirement benefits” invested in Lehman Brothers, AIG or Merrill Lynch, three firms that collapsed recently. In fact, the accounts in the plan McCain backed could not have invested in any of those stocks directly. They would have been allowed to invest only in a few government-run stock or bond funds with risks spread over many companies and industries..
        Analysis
This is becoming a pattern. In a Sept. 19 article we criticized an Obama-Biden ad for its false insinuation that Sen. John McCain favored massive cuts in current Social Security benefits. And in a Sept. 20 article we criticized Obama for claiming in a stump speech that Social Security recipients would have had their money tied up in the stock market if the plan McCain once endorsed had been enacted. That was also false. Nobody who is now older than 58 would have been allowed to invest in Bush’s proposed private accounts.

And right below the above FactCheck summary is another sayng the new 10/1 ad the Obama campaign is running in FL about SS is “Doubly Deceptive”.

As for the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac mess, both parties share the blame, but the Dems have the biggest share. Just research good old Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. The Republicans wanted a regulatory oversight, but good old Barney Frank and friends made sure that was shot down.

So stop with your nonfactual statements and start researching before you comment.

    • Michigan Liberal

McCain and the Republicans WILL push for Social Security privatization, it’s in their platform. That BS that McCain was trying to reform Fannie and Freddie in 2005 but the Democrats stopped it is coming straight from the Rush Limbaugh crowd. Who controlled the House and Senate in 2005? Can McCain be McCain and not another Bush? You betcha! I have always liked him, even when I voted for Clinton.

  • Cahil

    Help!!!!!

People keep quoting the Newsweek article by J. Alter, I believe, where he slobbers all over Obama and says that Obi has authored and passed more legislation in his short time in the Senate than McCain has in twenty-some years.

Anyone with facts to share on this or articles to read about it would be appreciated.

Nice talking points regarding Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac from Faux News. Check out some valid info at factcheck. Also, check out the history of Social Security yourself.

And listen to the famous speech Reagan made predicting the loss of our freedom if we passed Medicare.

Incidentally, if I’m supposed to be getting paid for this, I wish someone had told me. Everyone could use a little extra money in this economy.

    ======================================

Nice try TROLL. Fox News is kicking those liars at CNN and MSNBC in the azz ratings wise. Guess people like the TRUTH. As for FACTCHECK? ROFLMAO…yeah, right. BS site in the bag for Obama, bought and paid for like the biased BS media. We’re the voters and, for the last time, we’re WAY smarter than you are. Way smarter. Go blog elsewhere if you are going to keep up this trolling and lying. And I hope you can buy a six pack and some crack with the paycheck.

    • mcpalin hill

Bsue — 40% of Americans watched the VP Debate. Fox got the highest ratings. People who watched didn’t tune in to see Biden. They wanted to see Palin and she didn’t disappoint. This is the highest number of people watching a Debate in 16 years.

Have you ever LOOKED at http://www.Factcheck.org ? They call out Democrats as well as Republicans.

    Wonderful post!

But you know what? The former Obama supporters who finally realize that they’ve been tricked & lied to by Obama & the DNC can privately go to the voting booth on November 4th to undo what they’ve done. Without judgmental eyes on them.

That’s one of the great joys of being in a democratic society.

The wingerization of the NQ comment section, where I hang out, has reminded me how awful right-wingers are, and how they are the root cause of all evil. It has softened me toward the prospect of an Obama Presidency, because Obama would undoubtedly rig the electoral system so that we wouldn’t see another Republican President for at least 50 years—a thought which makes me feel a little better.

Obama couldn’t even get a security clearance to work for the defense contractor that I work for! I’m not kidding! What I had to go through to get mine was unbelieveable. They talked to people I associated with all the way back to my high school days!

It’s unbelieveable that this man has access to classified information pertaining to our country with all his anti-American terrorist ties!

      • Michigan Liberal

Did you know Minnesota has had a Muslim representative(Keith Ellison)since 2006 and we STILL haven’t been attacked like Karl Rove warned us?

    • http://lesstalkmoreactivism.blogspot.com/ whoframedrudy

“how in the world can you talk about the evils of socialism, when you voted for HILLARY?”

I’m not an expert on socialism and I’m not really interested in studying it. So if you have a Ph.D in socialism, I can’t argue with you.

To me, socialism means zero private enterprise. All the power corporations hold would be held by the government, plus all the powers the government already holds. That’s too much power. Capitalism is a form of ‘separation of powers.’ The state has the taxing, lawmaking, police, military and judicial power. It can’t have all the corporate power too!

To me, Communism is socialism combined with no religion, no freedom of thought, speech or press, using mind-control/groupthink to enforce cultural values, rather than the free dynamic forces (like marriage, religion, art) that shape American culture.

Communism is bullshit because it’s based on the fantasy that the state can be trusted with unlimited power. The state is run by the ‘Leader’ (Stalin/Obama) who is perfect — hahahahaha! Constitutional democracy is based on the belief that ‘men are not angels and will never be governed by angels’ so state power must be limited.

God bless Hillary and Bill, but we all know they are not angels. And they don’t pretend to be. So they have nothing to do with socialism.

Oh my god! You have written so well about exactly how I have been feeling these days. Although actively campaigning for McCain these days, I still have pangs of guilt about it. I like Sarah Palin, I admire her. But you know, I am not a huge, huge fan.
She is still so new to me.

The other day a local dem candidate running for Congress contacted me for a donation and asked me to volunteer. I explained that I am not even sure of how I want to vote this year regarding the “down ticket.” I feel that I need to send a message to all the Dems, putting on the pressure for them to do their part as well to, (as you so wonderfully, aptly said) FUMIGATE the party. His response sure made me feel guilty about my feelings. But then, I even got a little mad as the day went on. Was he trying to tell me to “get over it”? This wonderful article has helped to assuage my pangs of guilt. Thank you so much. I too will be sending a second donation your way soon.

The DNC got it wrong, so McCain it will have to be.

My friend, this boilerplate right-wing rhetoric which will have no effect on normal people. You’re only damaging NQ’s credibility by spritzing like this.

Besides, the vast majority of Americans totally disagree with you! Most Americans love Social Security, which is socialism. Most Americans want more gun control–more socialism. Most Americans want a universal healthcare system. You are a small minority, I’m afriad.

      • Obamassiah

Sorry Perry but you are wrong. The small minority are those that want the government handling everything for them. Lets see, free housing (section 8), welfare, food stamps, now Obama will give poor people healthcare. Where exactly is the incentive for poor people to succeed? The reality is Obama n friends (Ayers, Dean) don’t want the poor to succeed. Why? Because ignorance, makes it easier to control people, and can get them to donate their time to the greater cause “ACORN.” That way Obama’s Acorn buddies can convince the poor people they care by getting them a low income house, never mind they cannot afford it. In turn the grateful poor will walk the streets in different shady neighborhoods and convince other low income people to vote for their Acorn brothers.

        • Michigan Liberal

Ignorance, that’s what give us the Iraq war. Ignorance gave us warrantless wiretapping. Ignorance gave us torture. Ignorance will lead to privatization of Social Security and Medicare. • Carol

Most Americans love Social Security, which is socialism.

FICA which is what we working people have to pay (and you too, if you work) is an insurance, not a government give away. If you are a sole proprietor of a small business as I am, you pay 13% FICA. So, you could say we are all paying into an insurance policy that will give us a return when we retire.

Socialism is: An “economic, social and political doctrine which expresses the struggle for the equal distribution of wealth by eliminating private property and the exploitative ruling class

“Biden for instance, voted for the Defense of Marriage Act, while Palin vetoed a bill that would have denied gays benefits.”

Yes, facts are very liberating. I was watching an old videotape about Muhammad Ali, a hero of mine, the former heavyweight champ who was convicted of draft dodging the Viet Nam war. In the middle of the tape, they started yelling that the Supreme Court had overturned the champ’s conviction. So I looked it up on wiki — to my surprise, yes. The conservative ‘Burger Court’ voted 9-0 to recognize Ali’s religious freedom as a conscientious objector.

By the way, Earl Warren of the famous liberal ‘Warren Court’ was a Republican. Facts are liberating things.

But George Bush still sucks! And Obama is worse than Bush.

Hillary and Obama are not the same person, despite similar voting records. Obama is inexperienced, power hungry, remorseless, and hobknobs with extremists. Hillary doesn’t. Obama and MEchelle are ashamed and unapologetic of this country. The Clintons are not.

Personally I’m skeptical about universal health care. I wasn’t going to vote for Hillary because of her position on that issue. I do believe Hillary has the best interests of this nation at heart. Obama has his own best interests at heart, and his narcissism and arrogance are what get him out of bed every day. No thanks. The world can have its Citizen of the World.

  • Hank

I noticed something today about Obama, he sure has aged and he is not that skinny guy anymore.

  • mcpalin hill

This from Hillbuzz. Looks like a positive development.

It’s also a small insight into the Clinton camp in terms of how things are going to shake out on November 4th.

Tim Kaine, the current Governor of Virginia, is a term-limited SoetorObama supporter. If SoetorObama wins on November 4th, it’s been made clear that Clinton supporters currently in office will be challenged in their primaries in 2009 and 2010, with a challenge mounted against Clinton herself in 2012 for her Senate seat. SoetorObama’s people have promised the full weight of the DNC on behalf of removing all traces of the Clinton’s Democratic Party should he win.

Terry McAuliffe is as tied to the Clintons as anyone can possibly be — for him to leak his plan to run for Governor of Virginia in 2009 tells us he doesn’t believe SoetorObama will win on November 4th. Because if he believed SoetorObama will be president, then he’d also believe he’d have no shot at the nomination in the Democrats’ gubernatorial primary in Virginia, since Kaine would select his successor, who would have the SoetorObamachine behind him. That means no chance for McAuliffe.

To us, for McAuliffe to go ahead with his run means he does not believe the SoetorObamachine will even exist past November 5th.

    • FranSC

Certainly, McPalin hill makes some good points. However, I do not believe there is an Obama Machine. He has had NOTHING to do with running his campaign and therefore does not own this supposedly brilliant hi-tec, record shattering fundraising, organizational, crowd building monstrosity.

It was ALL laid out for him by Howard Dean (50-State Strategy that isn’t working), SC Rep James Clyburn pushing through a tailor-made for BO primary schedule (front-loading 15 early sure win states to create momentum along with the planned caucus fraud). Nancy Pelosi secured the Venture Capitalist company she had used in 2006 for her “Take Back Congress” Campaign to organize the Obama campaign, raise the money, and be his “ground operation” online from CA, not to mention the takeover MoveOn.Org of the young white male thugs that have bragged they now own the democratic party. Pelosi and Dean also assembled his campaign team with BO filling in the cracks with his questionable friends. BO is owned by the DNC and Nancy Pelosi.

It is quite obvious that the Clintons are not “working their hearts out for BO”. They were expected, in fact bullied, into thinking they HAD to insure O’s election or else be blamed for his loss.

I think the Clintons have established they make their own rules, don’t think either gives a hoot whether he wins or not, and there is nothing any of the race-baiting, race carding A-A’s in charge of that dispicable political strategy to keep A-A’s in line and angry can do. I think they see how important the Clintons are to them, but a little late.

I don’t see how he wins. But it is freightening to hear so many predicting that in this very unstable financial atmosphere that most feel is the REASON Obama will win – by default. It is tough to imagine in this information age that as risky a candidate as Obama surely is, that the American people would choose him just to throw the rascals out.

      • Goblintrain

I think thats an idea that we are “fed”. It is what we are supposed to think. I don’t see how BO is supposed to create this grand welfare redistribution when the economic changes have not left any wealth to redistribute

  • Hank

    • KathyNeocon

The thought of President Barack Obama is what scares me.

    • Goblintrain

you know whats ridiculous about all this “McCain will die in office” is that his mother is 96 & strong, his father lived to be very old too. He gave access to full medical records. Both of Obama’s parents died young, he is in an exceptionally prime risk age group & racial bracket for stroke/heart attack, & he was a heavy smoker & drug abuser.

So who is more likely to die in office?

That’s right! You don’t know! So stop talking about McCain dying in office before you actually call down something worse upon your own head! Funny how those things happen!

      • Ani

By the way, McCain did a rim to rim Grand Canyon hike in 2006. Hardly ready for a walker and some milk and crackers, eh?

        • Goblintrain

Lol, i didn’t know that. Look, the way i see it, running a presidential campaign is an extraordinarily demanding feat, & it is really the age/health test. If a candidate is strong enough to make it through a campaign, they are strong enough to take office, regardless of age. We will all be old some day too, if were not euthanized (spelling) first. Does any one want to be sent out to pasture when they still have service to offer? What the Obama camp is doing here is age discrimination, & scare tactics. Shameful!

v1…I did not say a word about HRC. You tell me why you will vote for obama when he wants to do away with the American Dream of owning a small business and having the life you earned through hard work.

oh, i love this line. Mccain wants to cut taxes for people who are ALREADY RICH. how in the world does that help small businesses? if you can’t even pay your bills, there’s no way to contribute to infrastructure. not to mention the billions he will spend to continue invading Iraq… that’s right, let’s call it what it is. we have no enemy, no set goal, we’re just taking the place.

    • Carol

Well Obama wants to raise taxes on those who make more than $250,000 which DOES affect small business owners. There are a heck of a lot of small business owners who would be hit by Obama’s tax raise. The owners would then be passing on their higher taxes to their consumers. And he wants to raise the FICA payroll limit.

Did you know that small businesses are not just Mom & Pop businesses? The SBA website lists the following small business classifications that they loan on and then you tell me Obama’s raising taxes on only those making more than a certain amount wouldn’t affect you and me:

The general range of size standards by industry division follows:

Construction – General building and heavy construction contractors have a size standard of $31 million in average annual receipts. Special trade construction contractors have a size standard of $13 million. The size standard for Land Subdivision is $6.5 million in average annual receipts. The size standard for Dredging is $18.5 million in average annual receipts.

Manufacturing – For approximately 75 percent of the manufacturing industries, the size standard is 500 employees. A small number have a 1,500 employee size standard and the balance have a size standard of either 750 or 1,000 employees.

Mining – All mining industries, except mining services, have a size standard of 500 employees.

Retail Trade – Most retail trade industries have a size standard of $6.5 million in average annual receipts. A few, such as grocery stores, department stores, motor vehicle dealers and electrical appliance dealers, have higher size standards. None are above $26.5 million.

Services – For the service industries, the most common size standard is $6.5 million in average annual receipts. Computer programming, data processing and systems design have a size standard of $23 million. Engineering and architectural services have different size standards, as do a few other service industries. The highest annual receipts size standard in any service industry is $32.5 million. Research and development and environmental remediation services are the only service industries with size standards stated in number of employees.

Wholesale Trade – For all wholesale trade industries, a size standard of 100 employees is applicable for loans and other financial programs. When acting as a dealer on Federal contracts set aside for small business or issued under the 8(a) program, the size standard is 500 employees and the firm must deliver the product of a small domestic manufacturer, as set forth in SBA’s nonmanufacturer rule, unless waived by the SBA for a particular class of product. However, for those procurements made under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of the FAR and where the purchase does not exceed $25,000, the nonmanufacturer may deliver the goods of any domestic manufacturer.

Other Industries – Other industry divisions include: Agriculture; transportation, communications, electric, gas, and sanitary services; and finance, insurance and real estate. Because of wide variation in the industry structure of the industries in these divisions, there is no common pattern of size standards. For specific size standards as of January 1 of each year refer to the size regulations in 13 CFR §121.201. Angie made the best point I have seen on any blog and one I feel strongly to be the truth. David Duke would no more be considered Presidential material because of his hatred of a race of people that are AMERICANS.Given the 20 year indroctrination that Barack Hussein Obama has had under Rev. Wright”s Black Liberation Theology who expalined it so eleoquently on Hannity&Colmes and if anyone did a follow up and looked into CONE”S books on BLT ( that would curl you hair) you would know that Rev Wright’s teachings breed HATE of the worse kind and there is no way Obama stayed under that kind of teaching unless he was in total agreement. The point being: Obama has been indoctrinated to HATE certain Americans. It would be an atrocity for him to hold the highest office in the land and I hope Americans all over this land will vote for the McCain/Palin ticket because we need to knock out every vote this nutcase gets. There can’t be any fence straddlers in this election.

Here’s an interesting little graphic representation that puts McCain’s and Obama’s tax proposals into perspective. Click on the Zoom In button twice. On the 50 yard line of the imaginary football field, you’ll see a stack of $100 bills that represents around $40,000–the median annual income level. Then click on Zoom Out around five times or so to pull back and see the comparitive stack of $100 bills that represents a single year of Bill Gates’ income.

    http://www.lcurve.org/

After performing this exercise, which takes only about 10 seconds, come back and explain to me why it makes sense for John McCain to give enormous new tax cuts to the rich, while ignoring the middle and working classes. McCain’s plan will give average cuts of $269,364 per year to people earning $2.7 million and up. The very richest would get annual tax cuts running into the millions.

For an extra 10 points, tell my why it doesn’t make perfectly good sense for Barack Obama to tax the wealthy more, and cut taxes to the remaining 95% of American families.

“In our country today, we have the most unequal distribution of income and wealth of any major country on earth, with the top 1 percent earning more income than the bottom 50 percent and the top 1 percent owning more wealth than the bottom 90 percent. We are living at a time when we have seen a massive transfer of wealth from the middle class to the very wealthiest people in this country…”
Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont–an Independent–in his floor speech 2 days ago.

    • http://www.missmalevolent Miss Malevolent

And what you don’t seem to understand is either one of them gets in office it’s higher taxes for all period.

McCain cuts the budget of the government, state and local entities are going to pick up the slack.

Obama gets into office individuals making 42,000 or so are going to be taxed.

Now I’m sorry, but I’m a person that’s not planning on having kids and as I’m currently unmarried…I’m going to get higher taxes on a paltry 42,000? That’s not rich by any definition of the word.

I can understand why poor people support Obama, as he’s intent on giving to the least of those, which is a very Christian thing to do, accept he’s doing it with everyone else’s money and not his own.

And you talk about 4 more years of the same? Just wait until Obama gets in office, if you thought the cronyism of the Bush years was terrible, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

If Obama gets in there, which it looks like he will given he knows how to game the system…and everyone sees what this do nothing, all talk very little action, liar does with the Presidency, how many of you are going to have the class to admit you were wrong? I tend to think not many…you’ll make excuses, blame Bush Jr. etc…cause by then it will be too late and your precious egos will be on the line.

      • A vote for McCain is for 4 More of the Same

It’s the McCain campaign that keeps insisting Obama will raise taxes on the middle and working classes.

That’s not what his proposals would do. As Obama and Biden keep pointing out, no one having income below $250,000 a year would see a tax increase. That includes 95% of all American families. People in the $42,000 range would receive substantial cuts. The plan raises taxes on the wealthy. That is why there’s so much distortion and disinformation coming from the republican party about the Obama plan. They resist the idea that the wealthy should take on a bigger part of the tax load, and will lie to the American people to prevent that from happening.

How does McCain justify those huge proposed tax cuts to people earning $2.7 million per year when we’re running an enormous deficit already, just took on the bail out obligation, and the working and middle classes are already tapped out?

He tells us it will create new jobs.

Have Bush policies–which have included 8 years of tax cuts to the rich–resulted in new jobs? We’ve just had two months of record job losses.

        • PS

So the rich will pay a higher tax who in turn raise the prices on their good and services to make up the difference in the higher taxes.

And then when I receive my tax cut (oh thank you dear one) I can turn around and use it to pay for the higher costs of goods and services.

Geez, I just didn’t understand how this plan was going to work…:)

And the 95% that will receive a tax break, of that amount about 32% don’t pay taxes anyway. So they just end up getting more of the “rich people’s money”. Take from the rich and give to the poor…

          What a plan…what disaster!

    • athena

Uh – cause we don’t belieive in redistribution of wealth. I worked 3 jobs to put myself through college. I made good grades in school because I studied and worked hard for those too. I am sick and tired of the flipping hangouts.

I can drive down the street of a modest neighborhood. You can see they don’t have a lot. There car is older. There yards are not maintained. But through the window of the front of these houses I see large flat screen TV’s hanging from the walls. I see there kids sitting on the front steps playing their handheld PSP’s and Gameboys’. Give me a break!

IT is called priorities, delayed gratification, sacrifice. Oh and I was raised by a single mom.

Number of Americans Paying Zero Federal Income Tax Grows to 43.4 Million
      http://www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/1410.html

Obama’s “Tax Cut” is Income Redistribution
      By Ken Blackwell

During his Fox News interview with Bill O’Reilly, Sen. Barack Obama responded to one question where the statistics contradicted his position by saying that “there are lies, damned lies, and statistics.” He then went on to say that 95 percent of Americans would get a tax break under his economic plan. That’s ironic, because his comment on “damned lies and statistics” is the perfect commentary on his own plan. Taken with Sen. Joe Biden’s novel definition of patriotism, Team Obama is making an argument that Americans have never bought.

The statistics speak for themselves. Only 62 percent of Americans pay federal income tax, meaning that 38 percent get a 100 percent refund of any taxes withheld. So Mr. Obama’s 95 percent that will receive money from the government includes roughly 33 percent of Americans who pay no income tax. One-third of Americans pay no income taxes yet would receive a government check of perhaps $1,000 or more.
      http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/09/obamas_patriotic_tonic.html

This sounds like income distribution to me.

So Obama doesn’t know (as usual) what he is talking about. Or, he thinks we are all stupid and will believe everything he says.

As I have said before (quoting Lady de Rothschld), I don’t like him and I don’t trust him.

I am really appalled that even one American thinks it’s a good idea to continue with the Republican Party after all they have done to wreck my country these past eight years. I really do remember the Clinton days. Peace and Prosperity
    *******************
I think you forget that two years into Clinton’s first term the Republicans took over congress and thigs were forced and it made Clinton look great.

    • Goblintrain

Oddly enough Presidents tend to be most effective when power is shared between parties, though it seems counter-intuitive. Party politics just works best with a counterpoint. Also, while a 2nd term for a president isn’t necessarily less successful, i think we can look back on just about all our 2 term presidents & note that the 2nd term always seems to be more difficult to navigate through.

      • Clara Barton

I don’t know about shared power making for a more effective President, but it goes a lot further toward a true balance of power to protect the peoples’ interests.

Wall Street likes divided power since it tends to produce gridlock. Any substantial achievements by a President would raise his/her stature and the achievement would be more meaningful, requiring true leadership.

        I’m voting today. Nobama.

        • Goblintrain

Ya, i think you clarified what i was trying to say, thank you. I suspect that part of why history looks so favorably on the likes of Clinton & Reagan was that neither of them got to do exactly what they wanted. Competition drives our economy, & competition drives our politics, & neither of them functions properly without it.

    • Linda

Apparently you also forget (or unaware) that it was the Democrats in the majority when they passed the resoution to GO TO WAR IN IRAQ.

Barack Hussein Obama is an embarrasment to America.

When I think that this man, who has no authentic qualifications nor accomplishments for the position of the CEO of a company, let alone the President of the United States of America, is the Democratic Nominee, it literally makes me feel ashamed for our country.

John F. Kennedy, who Barack Hussein Obama so fondly likes to compare himself with, would be shocked to find that this pseudo “leader”, this make-believe nominee is this close to being the leader of the Free World.

I’m sure that the John F. Kennedy who loved his country and hated communism, would be appalled to discover that a communist like Obama was mascarading around as a presidential nominee.

    No Experience.
    No qualifications.
    No character.
No loyalty or love for this country.
    No Obama.
    No way.
    No how.

I am not making this up. Here’s a comment from an Obama supporter at the end of Marc Rubin’s excellent post. Just an example of the kind of freaks that are in Obama’s cult:

    Fayaz said…

As the day of Obamas rising nears and the actions to kill the americans where they breath and sleep and work becomes the accepted politik, it is with deepest satisfaction that Obama has succeeded in the great split of american pride, will and determination, as americas final breath is, ironically, Obamas first.

      NancyJoe,

Thanks! I will say this all day, to anyone I meet.

This is our country and Obama and his thugs want to destroy it.

He is an evil man and so is his wife. I feel sorry for their children.

The people who blindly follow him are what the communists call “Useful Idiots.”

They are useful until the communists obtain their goals, then they are expendable. (can and probably will be eliminated)

Do you notice how easily Obama throws people under the bus, no matter who they are? These people that are so in love with him now are no different.

As soon as they are no longer useful, they will go under BO’s bus, too. Or worse.

So many Americans do not understand world history.

Study the history of the Soviet Union and the Holocaust.

The leaders of Communism have killed millions of people in their quest for absolute power.

In North Korea if a citizen unknowingly sits on a newspaper with “Dear Leader’s” picture in it, they are sent to prison and three generations of their family after them.

Those poor people live on weeds, bark and bugs and are told that they live in Paradise, while Kim Jong Il dines on cognac and fine food and watches his Disney movies.

People need to read about this stuff.

Ronald Reagan said something like – freedom is only a generation away from becoming extinct. (not the exact words)

I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone with this monster, Barack Obama, so close to the Presidency.

God help us and may God save America.

    Beth,

I say it all day too. I figure if I convert one person a day I am doing well. In fact, at dinner tonight yet again someone was inaccurately discussing the candidates and it was all because the person didn’t do his homework. I think that’s what makes me the most angry…if people educated themselves about Obama he wouldn’t BE in this race. He would be put on a boat to Cuba, where he belongs.

I am terrified for this country. I truly believe Obama is the biggest threat to our security, safety, prosperity and identity in our history. I live and work in Hollywood, so I get an even bigger dose of the lunatics. And I have spent a great deal of time trying to expose Obama, while having my colleagues beat the crap out of me for not worshiping that FREAK.

Obama gave me the CREEPS the first time I saw him. He reminds me of the old newsreels of Hitler. My skin crawls when he speaks, particularly that Hitler speech he gave on the AMERICA SUCKS WORLD TOUR. What a truly disturbed individual he is and how absolutely ridiculous that he is in our lives.

God Bless you and all of the other patriots fighting to save this country. I hope we win. Otherwise, without being hyperbolic, I will move the next day. Costa Rica is looking good right now. I wonder how all the low lifes selling this country out will feel if this turns into Venezuela and anyone with business or money leaves. Then how does Obama pay for all the handouts and his “Global Redistribution” of America’s wealth? Can you imagine? In the hard times we are having, all Obama can think of is how much of America he can sell off to other countries. Very scary indeed.

Im from MA, and as much as I can’t stand Mitt Romney, he was very effective running for Gov by attacking the Democratic leaders and tying them to the Democratic candidate. He kept calling them the “gang of 3″. I think something like that could be very effective for McCain, reminding people that if they vote for Obama they will be giving the dems free reign. Before Patrick was elected, we had a republican Gov in MA for 16 years. It isn’t because we like republicans, people just wanted them to keep an eye on the dems.

I think this is one of the best, well written articles on the travesty that is Obama…I have been a life long Democrat up until the day the Democrats abandoned the best hope the country had with Hillary Clinton. This Obama is nothing, stands for nothing but empty platitudes and broken promises and has changed his stand so often I now believe him when he talks of change…its constant and never ending. The left wing media has pulled a big one over on the sheep, and the sheep are following — to their slaughter if this plague gets elected. Obama can’t even produce an AUTHENTIC birth certificate!! There is a court battle over this now!! All of the things in this article ring so true, and there are many many fellow Democrats that feel the same way. Yes the polls say he is ahead but that is just plain BS. And with Acorn grabbing votes from the dead, yes he may well pull it off but wake up AMERICA while this country is still free. McCain was and is a war hero, and has always been proud of his country. He gave us 5 1/2 years as POW….I think we can give him four years leading this country.
