you're wrong. gramm-leach-bliley ended glass-steagel and let the commercial banks into insurance, investment banking, etc.

the exemption from all regulation of the swaps market was a different bill.

but thanks for playing!

Sorry about your narrow views, I look at the entire picture, not the narrow, so many things can occur in the weeks ahead including Obama being disqualified!

As for MI, when you look at the entire map, Illinois would have ben a far better State to leave thaan MI was, unless there is a plan for MI the battleground state.

Holding hopes on just the whitey tape is rediculous, when the slime pot that is Obama runnith over with plenty of reasons and exposures to rid America of him!

bwana- you are an idiot and have no clue what you are talking about. Before vomiting out Barky's talking points, you should first try to at least comprehend what you are saying. The Gramm bill that Clinton signed gave us the "too big to fail" MEGA banks. It deregulated and allowed consolidation at Bank of America, Citibank, Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo. Problematic- yes. But, are they failing? hell no, they are buying. The problem lies with over leveraged mortage securities which the Dems blocked regulating and credit default swaps which Bush's administration turned a blind eye to. Pay attention. There is going to be a big test later.

The Boston papers are doing an excellent job on really exposing the truth behind the housing scams that lead to the financial crisis. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter here in Massachusetts. The state is blue and Barney will once again be re-elected to his seat when it's up again. Oh Duh! That's why they can be REAL journalists for a change. They don't have to spew biased reporting to get "the One" elected here. Silly me.

Charles, the right change ads are beautiful. One small criticism. They move at an MTV pace. I can hardly focus on the text and I'm 49. Our voters in Ohio and Penn. and Florida are not spring chickens. Can't they slow it down a little? I know add time is hugely expensive, but this message needs to be heard.

Look at the bright side at least this time everything was spelt correctly in the ad. Then again they didn't tackle any words as difficult as "exaggerate".

I don't think this ad is terrible. I think it is directed at several targets rather effectively, just not the ones that a group like this might want.

First off: Who is Barrack Obama? Great lead-in, and the ultimate question of this election.

The female voice-over, which McCain's campaign has used a lot, is an educated woman without a regional accent. She's also just a touch sarcastic without sounding "bitchy," which is a good tone to take in questioning BO's statements and history. She raises legitimate questions about simple topics that people care about and that affect them personally. Taxes, liars in government, and who to trust.

The average voter is thick-skinned when it comes to things that sound like conspiracy theories. They can easily toss things like Ayers and Wright onto the same scrap-heap as JFK assassination plots and UFO abductions. If the accusation sounds "incredible," they don't give it credibility.

This ad plays on taxpayers' fears of higher taxes with the Wall Street bail-out and BO's talk of adding new programs. They may not believe he hangs out with terrorists or may not care that he failed as an administrator of Annenburg, but they can relate to higher taxes, and they know they will likely go up to pay for more government.

The last part of the ad is aimed at Democrats, warning legislators that they will share the blame with BO. This is odd, but it can work psychologically to cool the rhetoric of some Dems who might want to distance themselves a bit to cover their own asses. It also works to incite the Conservative base about turning out to vote against "Congressional Liberals," a call to arms. It's like hedging a bet. "You may not be wild about me, but don't stay home on Election Day... you need to vote for Congress too."

You are reading way too much into things. If there is something big going to happen, then McCain would stand his ground in Michigan.

Obama will not be disqualified. If you are pinning your hopes on that, then you will be disappointed.

McCain's last hope for winning this is the supposed "whitey tape", and if it does exist, then he knows nothing about it.
