déjà vu all over again. Obama reusing his primary tricks

I call it the Reverse Negative Twist.  The guy is starting to use the trick he used so well against Hillary Clinton in the primary.  It is the same trick that causes the media to say he’s staying above the fray while in reality he is the fray.

(CNN)Sen. Barack Obama on Sunday charged that Sen. John McCain’s campaign is launching “Swift boat-style attacks” on him instead of addressing the country’s problems.

“Sen. McCain and his operatives are gambling that they can distract you with Bambismears rather than talk to you about substance. They’d rather try to tear our campaign down than lift this country up,” Obama said at an event in Asheville, North Carolina.

“That’s what you do when you’re out of touch, out of ideas, and running out of time,” he said.

The comments come a day after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain’s running mate, claimed that Obama associated “with terrorists who targeted our own country.”

This is what Obama does so well.  He acuses his opponent of being negative and misleading in order to cause people to ignore the truth the opponent is speaking about.  Instead the press, like the AP today, goes off and starts to accuse Governor Palin of racism rather than actually looking into the past of the One™ who may not be picked on.

I don’t want to get into the issues here.  I won’t even point out past examples.  You can and should for the enlightment of others.

I want to talk about the continued use by Obama of the Reverse Negative Twist.  Virtually his entire campaign has been one of doing what he accuses his opponent of doing, but he does it while the press is looking where he pointed.

Does this sound racist? Doesn’t matter because one so-called journalist said it is, then it must be so.  Palling around is a racial slur?  Saying this is not change we can believe in, is racist?  If these simple words from the mouth of Sarah Palin are enough to make Barack have gas, I can’t wait to see him when it gets nasty.

But Obama is using the Reverse Negative Twist to full effect today. Accuse Palin of being negative and ignoring issues so the press will wonder why Palin is negative and ignoring issues. Meanwhile Obama has just ignored issues and been supremely negative by accusing her of negativity.

The Reverse Negative Twist, an Obama art form.

ps Definition of Palling Around

pal (pl) Informal n. A friend; a chum. intr.v. palled, pal·ling, pals To associate as friends or chums.

Often used with around. [Romany phral, phal, from Sanskrit bhrt, bhrtr-, brother; see bhrter- in Indo-European roots.]

Word History: Pal, like buddy and chum, has an informal, thoroughly “American” ring to it. Its source, though, is rather unusual, Romany, the Indic language of the Gypsies. First recorded in English in the 17th century, pal was borrowed from a Romany word meaning “brother, comrade,” which occurs as phal in the Romany spoken in England and phral in the Romany spoken in Europe. Gypsies speak an Indic language because they originally migrated to Europe from the border region between Iran and India. In other Indic languages we find related words meaning “brother,” such as Hindustani bhi and Prakrit bhda or bhy; they all come from Sanskrit bhrt, which in turn traces its ancestry to the same Indo-European word that our word brother does.

In spite of whatever tactics Obama and the scummy MSM are using, it is very important for McCain and us to stay the course all of the way to Election Day. Keep the heat on Obama’s ass (the truth about his gross lack of experience, political flip-flopping & dangerous associations) while simultaneously sticking with the issues that are affecting Americans (the economy, Iraq, health care, etc.). So far, John McCain & Sarah Palin are doing both.

You can see that the Republicans have the Obamabrats on the run. The attacks are working. Which is why they’re hollering about McCain being “desperate.” I noticed again today (surprise, surprise) that the MSM (on TV & in print) are polly-parroting Obama’s same silly talking points. They’re nervous too – just like Obama.

Now, in a desperate attempt to get the focus off of Obama’s rotten character, he and the MSM are attempting to regurgitate stale (yet resolved) issues on McCain. Old and buried issues which I refer to as “chewed meat” – because the flavor’s been gone a LONG time ago. But it’s all they have left. Obama’s serious issues are fresh meat. Even his own people behind the scenes know about Obama’s fresh dirt.

Expect extreme panic to continue to set in for these last few weeks & the trolls to downright get out of hand on our blogs. And continue to spread the truth about Obama to as many voters as possible.

  • http://hillarynme.wordpress.com/ sportsone234

The AP should be ashamed, but it isn’t. They are on the Obama victory train. The charge of “racism” is out and out ridiculous. Hey, but it worked against Bill and Hillary, right? I, for one getting tired of it.

The AP is the same group that was calling for Obama’s victory over Hillary Clinton at noon before the polls had closed in the closing days of the campaign(was it South Dakota? . . . seems like that happened an eon ago)

Why isn’t the MSM focusing on Obama’s “truth squad” in Missouri? We have a candidate’s raw, naked use of police state tactics to silence critics. We should be talking about fascism not racism.

Oh, that’s right, it doesn’t fit the narrative.

    • kenoshaMarge

Unless and until the public understands 100% that the media is deep in Obama’s pants we will never have fair elections again.

An honest and unbiased media is necessary for Democracy to flourish. We do NOT have an honest and unbiased media.

The sad part of this whole fiasco is that those on the left who whined the loudest about a level playing field are not concerned now that the tilt is in their direction.

Partisanship requires hypocrisy. How else could you demonize the “other” side?

      • Perry Logan

The sad part of this whole fiasco is that those on the left who whined the loudest about a level playing field are not concerned now that the tilt is in their direction.

        PUMAs are the exception.

I, for example, am a lefty, and I sure as hell whined about the uneven playing field when it was rigged against Democrats.

Now, here I am, whining about how the playing field is rigged in favor of the Repubs.

        • Perry Logan

“..in favor of the Dems,” I meant to say. Foggy-headed Perry…

      • Monet

        KenoshaMarge:

“An honest and unbiased media is necessary for Democracy to flourish. We do NOT have an honest and unbiased media.”

Unfortunately, televised news is now for profit and a Senator Obama presidency provides them with eight years worth of scandals to report on with “breaking news.” No wonder they’re waiting until after the election to vet him. Senators McCain and Clinton are ratings losers as far as cable news and the print media are concerned.

“The sad part of this whole fiasco is that those on the left who whined the loudest about a level playing field are not concerned now that the tilt is in their direction.”

I’m a tree and fauna hugging, red blooded bleeding liberal. I don’t whine. I do however stand up and point out injustice when I see it. I did it during the primaries and I’m still doing it. Unfortunately, no one listened last winter and they aren’t listening now since we’re painted as “whiners,” “sore losers” and “too emotional.” Most liberals have probably given up and have decided to skip this election. I suspect if Senator Obama is elected, my voting card will be revoked before the House is up for election again.

        • BernieO

The weirdest thing is that the media bias is not based on ideology, but on silly things like who is the coolest, most fun to have a beer with etc. If any deeper principles were involved there is no way they would have swooned over Bush and hated Gore, then dropped McCain for Obama. It really is like high school for them. I recently heard Tom Brokaw say this and bemoan the fact that he can no longer call up his good friend Tim Russert, not to get the inside scoop on serious issues, but to get the latest gossip!
I cannot find where I saw this, but I think it was in connection with some panel discussion he chaired. Did anyone else see this or was I just hallucinating?

          • Monet

I saw it too, but don’t remember where. I don’t think we both had the same Mr. Brokaw hallucination.

It’s sad, Mr. Brokaw is the last newsman mentored under the Murrow and Cronkite model of news and he’s entrenched in gossip, not factual news too. Did NBC have the entire news division brainwashed?

            • BernieO

Thanks! That’s a relief. I really do think people need to see that. It is not the first time an influential media person has made this analogy that politics = high school as if there were nothing wrong with it.

“You knew Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in high school. At least I did. They were candidates in the student senate election. She was the worthy but puffed-up Miss Perfect, all poodle skirts and multicolored binders clutched to her chest. He was the lanky, mysterious transfer student—from Hawaii by way of Indonesia no less—who Knew Things and was way too cool to carry more than one book at a time. Who would be leader of the pack?
Presidential elections are high school writ large…”

Uh, since when has the MSM been tilted toward the Republicans? The only time they do is when they have dirt they can spread about the Democrat (Monica’s blue dress). They’re all in it for their ratings. I would bet millions that they have all the dirt and more on BO but are waiting until after he either wins or loses to spring it on him. Ratings first. Country last.

        • Monet

“I would bet millions that they have all the dirt and more on BO but are waiting until after he either wins or loses to spring it on him. Ratings first. Country last.”

I agree. A Senator Obama presidency will bring more ratings. What they have, they’ll save in case he’s elected.

          • Ferd McBerfle

Unfortunately, I agree with you. Never let the truth get in the way of profits.

    • Newly Independent

The Obama “victory” train is being derailed as we type.

The “race card” has expired. It was only good during the primary. Obama has received all of the votes he’s ever going to get with the race card during the primary. The “card” maxed out back in June.

Frankly, I believe that Obama’s actually losing support among some of his own base by continuing to holler “racism” at non-supporters. He and his staunch supporters come across as whining. It’s a huge turn-off. I think they’re beginning to see his cries as a cover-up for his serious issues (lack of experience, connections with criminals, etc.).

  • No Way, No How, NoBama

So far, not one conservative friend or advisor of Obama’s-
All extreme left wing radicals. Yet he claims that he talks to ‘a lot of people’.

    Gaming caucuses
    ACORN
Rules Committee AGAINST the popular Dem candidate
Truthsquads and threats in MO by Prosecutors
Associations with people all against democracy
Financial backing by Khalidi and Rezko
Campaign contributions from Fannie, Freddie & Countrywide
Questionable, untraceable and illegal campaign contributions.

Still, Perry wants to say that these people are neocons. Wake up, Perry! If Obama wins this election, every one of his hair-brained, radical ideas will fly right by Pelosi, Dean, Kerry, Brazile–the elites who are NOT doing the will of the people.

The most dangerous part of your logic, Perry, is that you think there will be one check or balance if this guy wins. If he wins, we will lose our freedoms left and right.

    • Perry Logan

But doesn’t Obama have a lot of neocon advisers in both foreign policy and economic matters? And the University of Chicago is an extremely right-wing school.

Then there’s O’s vote for the Cheney energy bill and FISA, not to mention his corporate connections. I never knew a left radical who was cozy with the big corporations.

Despite attacks on media by McCain campaign, case studies show disparate coverage in McCain’s favor
A study by Media Matters found that the five major newspapers and the three evening network news broadcasts have frequently mentioned Obama’s ties to Ayers and Rezko, but have rarely mentioned McCain’s dealings with donors and have ignored his association with Gordon Liddy.

While the MSM has done stories on the Obama connections to Rezko and Ayers, virtually all of those stories have been the “nothing to see here, move along” variety that downplay the connections and don’t mention half of the facts uncovered, just like that dismissive New York Times article this morning. What a whitewash!! (sorry, was that racist ?)

        • NomNomNom

I saw everything that happened as well. But I have not changed my ideals or opinions as a result. I am still a “tree & fauna hugger” as well.
I have looked at McCain: he is not that different from BHO. McCain also supports FISA (cloture vote), also could give a crap about women’s rights (anti-ERA, anti Ledbetter, not one vote for pay equity in 26 years), also supported the bailout, also has/had the same billionaires backing him. He is a warmonger: he is part of the lies that al Qaeda were in Georgia back in 2002, so that the US would station troops there to train Georgians to guard pipelines.
One hears a great deal about BHO’s Fannie & Freddie ties? What of McCain’s own? What of the numerous other banks he takes money from, including banks that have failed? Why the constant lies that deregulation had nothing to do with the banking crisis today? Where is the information that his son sat on the board of one of those failed banks? Is this not also media support?
Take this list from Mccain’s Straight Talk America site and look at his backers. how about that guy Allison, right near the top: Merill Lynch President and COO at time of Enron fraud. Recollect that of the 6 convicted for Enron 4 convictions were subsequently overturned on appeal and all were Merill Lynch guys. Still together after all these years. How sweet. Merill Lynch is one of McCain’s biggest donors.
How about William Daley, brother of Richard? he’s there too.
Fce it, BHO and McCain are both thralls to the same people. http://www.nndb.com/org/594/000165099/

I’m willing to believe that BHO is their preferred candidate, but McCain is certainly the backup. No thx.

Ayers teaches at The University of Illinois, Chicago. UIC is state school.

The University of Chicago is a very conservative, Academically and politically, school. It is a private university.

    Close-up on juvenile justice
    Author, former offender among speakers

    By Jennifer Vanasco
    News Office

Children who kill are called “super predators,” “people with no conscience,” “feral pre-social beings” — and “adults.”

William Ayers, author of A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court (Beacon Press, 1997), says “We should call a child a child. A 13-year-old who picks up a gun isn’t suddenly an adult. We have to ask other questions: How did he get the gun? Where did it come from?”

Ayers, who spent a year observing the Cook County Temporary Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago, is one of four panelists who will speak on juvenile justice at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the C-Shop. The panel, which marks the 100th anniversary of the juvenile justice system in the United States, is part of the Community Service Center’s monthly discussion series on issues affecting the city of Chicago. The event is free and open to the public.

Ayers will be joined by Sen. Barack Obama, Senior Lecturer in the Law School, who is working to combat legislation that would put more juvenile offenders into the adult system; Randolph Stone, Director of the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic; Alex Correa, a reformed juvenile offender who spent seven years in Cook County Temporary Detention Center; Frank Tobin, a former priest and teacher at the Detention Center who helped Correa; and Willy Baldwin, who grew up in public housing and is currently a teacher at the Detention Center.

The juvenile justice system was founded by Chicago reformer Jane Addams, who advocated the establishment of a separate court system for children which would act like a “kind and just parent” for children in crisis.

“Palling around” sounds like a pure Palin-ism to me. That is how she talks if they hadn’t noticed. Yeesh — talk about stretching credibility by referring to it as a racial slur.

A few months on a video blog, Jeralyn Merritt who was originally a Hillary supporter but who now supports Obama used the word “black eye” in her conversation about the two and was accused of racism. Also a common use phrase such as “that guy” was flagged as racist code. Talk about trivial pursuit!

Every time the Obama gang and his Bots cry racism, they lose – especially when their accusations make absolutely NO SENSE!

    • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com InsightAnalytical-GRL

“Palling around” has not racist connotation at all…it means just that, that you hang out with a person

I have my old dictionary which I brought to college in 1968…so, it’s from the era when racism was one of the things that had been at the top of the list of this country!! LOL…

      Webster says..

      Pal–an intimate friend; comrade; chum.

v.i.–Palled; palling–1. to associate as pals. 2. to become a pal with another.

She is using the term correctly with no hint of racial slur…Heck, Ayers is even referring to a black-white relationship…and that becomes part of the racial slur???

This is total bullshit…I guess I should send the guy the definition….

Among other things, Obama is going to change the language of this country in a negative way. The “newspeak” will be unbearable…it already is…

      • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com InsightAnalytical-GRL

Sorry, I meant PALIN is even referring to a black-white relationship…

The black-white connection also struck me as making the accusation even more bizarre.

To their credit, a skit about the first Obama/McCain debate showed Obama using the race card to accuse world leaders of bias when they didn’t agree with them. It was really funny but the MSM didn’t dare show any clips of that one. Better to focus on Palin’s so-called stupidity.

  • janicen

Just saw Andrea Mitchell quote the NYT story saying that Obama and Ayers, “…were not close…”, to explain away accusations about Obama’s relationship with Ayers.

Reminds me of the Bush administration tactic. They planted a story with Judith Miller justifying the war and then Cheney goes on national TV quoting the story as fact.

Only this time, the Obama campaign didn’t even have to send out a minion to quote the NYT story, Andrea Mitchell did it for them.

    • joseyJ

Yes, NBC exploited one phrase from that NYT article on Obama and Ayers – “not close.”
      CNN “factcheckers” did the same.

Most nominees are PROUD for longtime friends to speak on their behalf at the conventions.
But Obama had NO longtime friends to speak for him at the convention. NONE that could PUBLICLY attest to his character because they’re so radical and controversial themselves.

      • oowawa

yes Josey, this is one of the things that really puzzles me Where are the testimonials from GOOD people who knew The Precious way back when he was just a fledgling Messiah? Why can’t he even enlist his grandma to speak in his behalf? It’s like this guy suddenly materialized from nowhere, beamed down from some alien space ship maybe, and announced, “Well, here I am, ready to lead the world to a brighter future through Hope and Change! Just elect me Leader of the Free World!” And the gullible populace swoons.

Another thing puzzles me: does the Messiah really chain-smoke? I’ve never seen him smoking, and this little factoid seems very incongruous with the rest of the clean image The One is trying to project. I’m not trying to demean smokers, but this dangerous and unclean habit really does not fit in with the optimistic idea of hope and change for a wholesome and prosperous tomorrow.

  • wodiej

I don’t want to hear one single person on here defend Barack Obama and his ties to this terrorist. It is absolutely unconscienable and unacceptable. Plotting bombings on your own country, desecrating the flag, working to inflitrate the education system with radicalism. No wonder the media is in the tank for Obama. Ever realize many new journalists were schooled this way? There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for Barack Obama and his association with this man. Ayers is not sorry, not repentent in the least and even said they should have done more. He never was convicted of any crimes. He runs loose spewing his far left bullshit. His wife/girlfriend, whoever the crazy kook is, praised Charles Manson. Then you see Obama goose steppers in Ohio and Florida trying to steal votes. If Barack Obama is so damn wonderful, why do they have to cheat to win?

    • joseyJ

      >>>>If Barack Obama is so damn wonderful, why do they have to cheat to win?

      Good question!

Is there is any way to by pass the MSM and get to people with the truth about Obama? There are people who just refused to hear the truth, but those kind of people they need a lupotomy to make them hear what you are saying. other groups who have no other sources than the MSM and they are not curious enoungh to question it’s motives in turning into cheer leaders for one candidate against any one else, I would say there is hope for them only if we can find a way to by pass the media. But how?

Sure they spin the shit out of it after in the MSM but for 90 minutes there is a window of opportunity for the candidate to speak directly to the american people, or in joe biden and barack obama’s case lie directly to the american people.

I woke up this morning to a newsclip of Oblowme recycling reverse negative twists using his rehearsed line plagerized from Malcolm X- “they are trying to hoodwink you, bamboozle you” followed by the same exact snarky laugh that he used in the primaries. Geeze’um! It’s like I am trapped in the movie Groundhog Day……….

    • Benjamin

. . . don’t forget the old “okey doke,” which he used again also. Of course, he was in Asheville, NC, which totally explains it.

I’m worried, but there are likely to be many twists and turns in this campaign yet. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Obama’s poll numbers are over-inflated, and will not pan out on election day.

      • NomNomNom

Do you live in NC, Benjamin? I do.
Maybe you would explain WTF you mean by “he was in Asheville, NC, which totally explains it”?
If you think comments like this will help McCain in NC, you’re wrong, bozo.

    • NewHampster

Groundhog day is exactly what this feels like.

The difference is the Democratic primary had a higher % of blacks to persuade superdelegates to vote for him. This is the general election. No super-delegates. The RNC will expose this fraud for what he is. An FEC auditor (whistle blower) just exposed that $200 Million of Obama contributions came from foreign donators. Obama and his cohorts might go to jail if they keep this up.

An FEC auditor (whistle blower) just exposed that up to $200 Million of Obama contributions may have came from illegal sources: foreign donators.

      Fixed and quoted for emphasis.

Remember we still live in the United States of America and until the FEC allows a full investigation to corroborate the first inspector’s findings its not Proven.

I am sure the Obama Campaign will welcome the investigation to clear themselves of any wrong DOODADs doings.

NewHampster: You seem to have hastily read the AP piece. The writer does NOT argue that the phrase “palling around” is some kind of racist code word.

    The writer’s argument is:

“Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying Obama as ‘not like us’ is another potential appeal to racism.”

Indeed. We know exactly what Sarah With The Tiara means when she talks about “our America.”

      Shutup race baitor.

Go crawl back under your rock in Barack Omerica.

The AP Article smeared Palin as a racist for mentioning ayers and followed the wacky logic that

      Ayers ->
      Terrorist ->
Dumb americans think Dark Skinned Muslims are terrorists ->
      Barack is dark Skinned ->
Palins crowd was predominantly White ->
Palin said he doesn’t see america the way we do ->
Palin’s words mean that he is not like us white people ->
Therefore Palin is stirring racial tensions.

Its an incredible series of logic leaps and bounds that even Superracist the Man of Steal the Election would be impressed by.

Its in the article, its intentionally fabricated argument by numbers. Its blatently bizare and its intentional as a warning to the McCain campaign that if they bring up ayers they are going to be called racists.

      http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D93KD6Q00&show_article=1

First, Palin’s attack shows that her energetic debate with rival Joe Biden may be just the beginning, not the end, of a sharpened role in the battle to win the presidency.

“Our opponent … is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country,” Palin told a group of donors in Englewood, Colo. A deliberate attempt to smear Obama, McCain’s ticket-mate echoed the line at three separate events Saturday.

“This is not a man who sees America like you and I see America,” she said. “We see America as a force of good in this world. We see an America of exceptionalism.”

Her reference to Obama’s relationship with William Ayers, a member of the Vietnam-era Weather Underground, was exaggerated at best if not outright false. No evidence shows they were “pals” or even close when they worked on community boards years ago and Ayers hosted a political event for Obama early in his career.

Obama, who was a child when the Weathermen were planting bombs, has denounced Ayers’ radical views and actions.

With her criticism, Palin is taking on the running mate’s traditional role of attacker, said Rich Galen, a Republican strategist.

“There appears to be a newfound sense of confidence in Sarah Palin as a candidate, given her performance the other night,” Galen said. “I think that they are comfortable enough with her now that she’s got the standing with the electorate to take off after Obama.”

Second, Palin’s incendiary charge draws media and voter attention away from the worsening economy. It also comes after McCain supported a pork-laden Wall Street bailout plan in spite of conservative anger and his own misgivings.

“It’s a giant changing of the subject,” said Jenny Backus, a Democratic strategist. “The problem is the messenger. If you want to start throwing fire bombs, you don’t send out the fluffy bunny to do it. I think people don’t take Sarah Palin seriously.”

The larger purpose behind Palin’s broadside is to reintroduce the question of Obama’s associations. Millions of voters, many of them open to being swayed to one side or the other, are starting to pay attention to an election a month away.

For the McCain campaign, that makes Obama’s ties to Ayers as well as convicted felon Antoin “Tony” Rezko and the controversial minister Jeremiah Wright ripe for renewed criticism. And Palin brings a fresh voice to the argument.

Effective character attacks have come earlier in campaigns. In June 1988, Republican George H.W. Bush criticized Democrat Michael Dukakis over the furlough granted to Willie Horton, a convicted murderer who then raped a woman and stabbed her companion. Related TV ads followed in September and October.

The Vietnam-era Swift Boat veterans who attacked Democrat John Kerry’s war record started in the spring of 2004 and gained traction in late summer.

“The four weeks that are left are an eternity. There’s plenty of time in the campaign,” said Republican strategist Joe Gaylord. “I think it is a legitimate strategy to talk about Obama and to talk about his background and who he pals around with.”

Palin’s words avoid repulsing voters with overt racism. But is there another subtext for creating the false image of a black presidential nominee “palling around” with terrorists while assuring a predominantly white audience that he doesn’t see their America?

In a post-Sept. 11 America, terrorists are envisioned as dark-skinned radical Muslims, not the homegrown anarchists of Ayers’ day 40 years ago. With Obama a relative unknown when he began his campaign, the Internet hummed with false e-mails about ties to radical Islam of a foreign-born candidate.

Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying Obama as “not like us” is another potential appeal to racism. It suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American.

Most troubling, however, is how allowing racism to creep into the discussion serves McCain’s purpose so well. As the fallout from Wright’s sermons showed earlier this year, forcing Obama to abandon issues to talk about race leads to unresolved arguments about America’s promise to treat all people equally.

The entire article is written as a smear against Palin McCain.

It calls criticism of Obama a smear, it lies about the findings on Obama’s associations with Ayers as “NO EVIDENCE”

It creates a false logic argument that somehow talking about William Ayers is equivalant to saying Barack aint white like you folks.

Its incredibly irresponsible journalism at the best and vile campaign talking points posing as news by a complicit in the tank media lackey in the light of day.

I can tolerate you being a total tool and a koolaid drinking moron UBM, you have an agenda and you are out to convince people that this Oshitburger of a candidate is going to save the world, but you have your own crappy site with no readership to spew your lies.

The tactics used in threatening boycotts would normally be called extortion by most prosecutors. A position or remark is seized upon, and then the “activists” make their demands. Often those demands are more in line with extortionist demands, like, provide an exclusive beer distributorship for my sons, or I will organize a boycott. Then there is the favorite, put these two associates of mine from my organization (currently being paid by my organization) on your payroll, or I will stir up my followers to boycott your company. The initial outrage is totally fake, and is used merely as a vehicle for extortion.

  • Larse12
  • c17wife

Um, so I’m getting a little worried here.

I had resigned myself way back in 2007 that the GOP (of which I am a member) was going to lose the White House this go round. While I am not a huge Hillary fan (too much government for my taste), I was okay with the prospect of having her as a president for several reasons. Most importantly, I knew she would do her best to keep us safe and that she wouldn’t provide a safehaven for those that sought to destroy us. And, I knew that her election, while polarizing, wouldn’t rip our country in half. Both Bill Clinton and George Bush have been polarizing figures and we have survived and even thrived despite it.

What I am seeing now disturbs me greatly though. For all the talk of Barack Obama being a post racial candidate, does anyone else get the sense that we may be about to witness major racial divisions again in this nation?

I was born in 1967 so I have a vague rememberance of the 70′s. What I do remember wasn’t so pretty though. It seems to me that we are heading for that type of environment here again. Does anyone else feel that way or am I just out to lunch?

Oh, and guys, if you have that whitey tape, or know who does, I’d say now is a good time to let it rip.

My fear is that the timing would be too late by then.

    • http://msnGodhelpusall Lee M

      To c17wife:
No matter who wins this election, I agree with you.
Race relations in this country have been set back about 30 yrs. Beginning with Ryburn’s unfair charges against Bill Clinton in the S.C. primary. and continuing throughout the campaign.
The Obama camp uses the race card constantly (which is what many AA’s do any time they are questioned about anything).
I, for one, am sick and tired of it. Call me racist if you like – have at it. I am not a racist, but these goons are causing many of us to not care anymore what they think. We will begin speaking our minds on any subject and their feelings be damned.
      Ever heard of reverse racism?????????????

    • NewHampster

He who ran against the “polarizing” Hillary, is running a well planned divide and conquer campaign. The only goal is to win then worry about saving the country afterward.

But I agree we are heading for racial divide. Imagine if we do win and he loses. People have hinted and threatened riots and I fully expect them.

Talking about “deja vu” from the primaries – I caught a bit of Obama’s stump speech in Asheville, NC on CNN, and Obama is back to one of his favorite lines: accusing the McCain campaign of trying to pull the old “okey doke.” Of course, Obama will only use this in the south, when a large part of his audience is African-American.

Joe Scarborough is now in the tank for Obambaby. Joe said this morning “What does Obambaby knowing Ayers really matter? The economy matters.” Thanks Joe. The American people should hand over the U.S. Treasury to a candidate that pals around with UNREPENTANT terrorists that wish to destroy our country from within and we should all be MAD at Sarah Palin for pointing out that maybe giving Obamababy and all his terrorist pals the keys to our treasury isn’t a really good idea. Say it isn’t so Joe that you’re in the tank for Obmababy. I used to respect you. I respect Sarah Palin for being tough enough to finally say what we wish all of you in the tank media and scaredy cat politicians won’t say about Obambaby – the TRUTH!

He’s not in the tank, he’s just trying to figure out a way that McCain can actually win. Joe just doesn’t think Ayers, Wright, et al is gonna do it at this point, given our economic situation.

McCain needs to his Obama on this economic crisis – in fact, the Democrats’ and Obama’s involvement with and defense of Fannie Mae, an organization that is at the center of the entire crisis. I’ve yet to hear McCain and the GOP explain it in a way that average Americans will understand. It was McCain who proposed legislation to reign in and legislate Fannie, and the Democrats who opposed it, while at the same time raking in the dough from Fannie and Freddie.

I also think most Americans at this point want to see some accountability for this mess. McCain should also go hard in that area. Just my two cents.

You’re right Hillary, BO is finished.

Maybe Ayers or someone can prove the association?

I don’t know, somehow the McCain camps seems very calm compared to Barfy’s camp who seems desperate, even though it is supposedly a slam dunk. It makes me wonder.

I also think that McCain’s people know about berg’s lawsuit and if Hannity brings that up in a couple weeks, people will want to know why Barfy can’t just clear it up in 5 minutes and show the paperwork!

One thing I don’t understand is why everybody has acceded to the non-mention of Barack’s middle-name? What he is, shows in his name which he can never repudiate. It is a name he has chosen for himself when he discarded Barry Soetero.

    • kgirl1028

I don’t care what obama’s middle name is my uncle is black muslim, and all his kids have interesting names, Barak obama’s problem for me is not his beliefs. My family is Chrisitan, Morman, Adventist, Jehovia, Witness, Nation of Islam…an we respect what each other believes, but obama has no belief system and that is what makes him dangerous. Every person he has ever come in contact with even Ayres he was using them The man is a bonified sociopath, I even think his decision to marry michell was calculated, not that i think communism is swell I would have an easier tiem with that than what i see in Idi Amin Jr. Obama is all about himself. There is no greater cause than obama, he’s using everyone that’s the reason he can say one thing on tuesday and and another on thursday.

    • Arabella Trefoil

Did you watch Hannity last night? He played the clip of Rev. Wright saying “Barrack HUSSEIN Obama” over and over again. It was great.

      • csuzeq

That needs to be stressed. I just mentioned to a friend of mine who is an undecided voter that I am surprised just 7 years after 9/11, we woudl risk electing Barack Hussein Obama who has ties to many bad people. She said, “Is that his middle name?” I said, yes, didn’t you know? She didn’t.

Months ago I referred to him as Barack Hussein Obama at work and two of my coworkers started laughing. I said, it’s not funny. That is his real name, look it up. They suddenly became very serious.

      • Felizarte

Yes I did and it impacted! I believe that Barack Hussein Obama is the product of a long-term, deliberate packaging of a trojan candidate that carries the leftist, radical agenda in his gut and mind; All the creators of that agenda are now dangerously close to implementing them when Obama gets in the white house.

That is the real agenda which is why Obama never had difficulty throwing anybody, or any stance he has on issues that stood in the way of his winning. He has no intellectual or emotional commitment to issues other than to effect the change he and his friends or associates have decided on a long time ago. Bill Ayers et al have certainly found the perfect vehicle for their lifelong agenda of remaking the United States of America IN THEIR OWN IMAGE.

This is why the Obama campaign is reacting to Sarah’s “they don’t see America as you and I do . . .” line. It is too close to the truth they don’t want the people to see until it is too late; or as Barack says, “not enough time.”

  • jamjam

Listen, I don’t think anyone here wants to see Barack Obama elected, but damnit, is this really the right way for McCain to win?

I don’t buy for a second that Larry Johnson turned Republican because Hillary lost.

This website (the way people comment, the types of people who comment) is very similar to Littlegreenfootballs.

Hell, the names are even the same: Charles Johnson runs LGF, Larry runs this place. Charles gets paid by the Likud Israeli lobby, Larry probably gets paid by the Republican Party.

And hey, there’s nothing wrong with that.

I’m a lifelong Republican and I believe in doing what’s right to win.

But guys, seriously – slagging on Obama?

While every night Americans see those economic lines getting steeper. It makes Obama look presidential and McCain look desperate and Palin look stupid.

If Rudy Guliani had won we wouldn’t be in this mess.

As a lifelong conservative astroturfing blog troll working from camp koolaid somewhere in the shining city on a hill called Gaza in a Hamas Head quarters basement where we bundle sub 200 dollar unmarked donations in little white envelopes for Dear Leader, i agree with my compatriot jamjam who sits at the terminal next to me in front of a che guevara flag and types the fake astroturf conservative talking points that we get daily from chicago complements of David and David while we await our daily ration of hummus and baywatch videos…

Anybody who thinks conservatives don’t really want to talk about this and claims to be a conservative is an paid adolf axelfraud internet astroturfing troll working the keyboard for camp Obama…

      YOU BETCHA!!

      • jamjam

You’re a fucking idiot. THINK ABOUT IT. Palin and McCain sit around throwing mud at Obama. They miss, of course, and Obama stands around looking Presidential.

He wins races by pretending he’s the only one running.

People see the economy down the toilet EVERY NIGHT on their TV. And you wanna tell me they care more about William fucking Ayers than their MORTGAGE PAYMENTS? Jesus Christ Almighty, if you want to lose this thing, you’re going the right way about it.

        Change your tune.

        • Arabella Trefoil

Ayers planned to kill people with bombs. His radical pals killed two cops in Nanuet NY during a botched bank robbery. The robbery was planned to buy drugs. Bernadette Dorhn was part of it. She left her baby with a friend when she went out to rob the bank.

Ayers and his pals were not romantic heros who made misguided errors in judgement. You are a troll, and not worth my attention. But the fact that you can parrot such drivel disgusts me.

The police officers who were killed in Nanuet (a suburb) left families behind. Talk to them, why don’t you?

          • jamjam

            Listen to me:

I know everyone who posts anything that’s not in exact agreement with everyone else is automatically termed a ‘troll’ and ‘not worth attention’ or ‘astroturfing’ or ‘in the tank for Barry’, blah blah fucking blah.

Get real. Stop deluding yourself. You are the people who can help us win this thing, the former Democrats.

But do you really think anyone cares about who got killed in a robbery by Ayers PALS for fucks sake? Really, the DETAILS don’t matter. That Ayers is a terrorist is enough – but now you’re banging on about what his FRIENDS did.

            Three words: People don’t giveashit.

Everything about Obama and his connections happens already to be known. Rezko, Wright, Ayers – these people have been flogged to death in the media like they ought to have been in real life.

I know you people love to go on about these conspiratorial connections that Obama has. He’s dirty, he’s hanging with baddies, he’s friends with guys who were friends with the evil German from the Die Hard movie.

But guess what? The old tactics have died hard. Smears mean ‘Rove’ or ‘Swift Boat’. McCain isn’t supposed to be the smearing guy, remember?

And most important of all IT WON’T WORK.

Go after him on taxes. He’s going to raise taxes through the roof for everyone. People don’t like less money in their wallets (Hey, that’s why Obama is winning and WILL WIN IF YOU DON’T START CHANGING YOUR TUNE).

Go after him on crime. People don’t like criminals running around in their streets and Obama is soft on crime.

Hell, if you find a whitey tape go after him on that. If you find a REAL connection, go after him on that. But don’t WASTE the next month – when you people could be that 1% that brings us over the line.

            • Felizarte

              Listen Jam Jam,
You do your thing ad we’ll do ours. Hillary was all ‘presidential and focus on the issues’ and look what happened? She and Bill got accused of being racist (never mind their record on civil rights).

Go Sarah! Go,go,go! You are delivering the cutting blows. MORE POWER!

              • jamjam

It feels good to see Sarah Palin attacking Obama. It feels good to attack Obama. But like I said, this thing is all about keeping your cool.

Hillary didn’t appear presidential for many people because of Bill. I can tell you as a Republican that, as Nathan Bedford Forrest’s granddaughter once said of Abe Lincoln, ‘we don’t care much for Mr. Clinton’.

She also talked about Wright later on.

People had eight years to build up a hatred for Hillary. Even Democrats thought she was a bitch.

You can’t build up a hatred among undecideds in a month. Can’t be done.

You need to generate the real steam heat on this guy, REAL heat, not the things you guys think are real, but the fact that Obama voted NINETY-FOUR times to raise taxes. To hit voters like you and me at the hip pocket.

                • stodghie

excuse, the hatred has already been built. it is called the democratic congress. got that!

                  • jamjam

Yeah but you PUMAs are the ones who think linking Ayers to Obama is a good idea, rather than hitting him on other fronts.

You’re not trying to link Ayers to the Democratic Congress, are you? You’re trying to link him to Barack Obama.

People will vote Congress out for different reasons. Congressional elections are different, but I’ll be glad to see some red on the Congressional district maps around the country for damn sure.

            • PhxNickD

              Three words: People don’t giveashit.

              WRONG
Maybe the bleeding heart liberals you hang with don’t give a shit. I know my bleeding heart liberal friends don’t care – they read the sound bytes the democratic party sends them or believe what crap gets emailed them, but TRUST ME middle America – both democrats and republicans will vote COUNTRY FIRST. We saw it in 2004 and we will definitely see it in 2008. In 2004 the country voted Bush back in office and we were so pissed off about the war at that time. Kerry was painted as unpatriotic and out of touch with middle America. The lied about Kerry, it is true about Obama.

              • jamjam

I don’t hang around any bleeding heart liberals. I don’t have friends who are bleeding heart liberals. Why anyone would, I don’t know. They offer nothing to society, they offer nothing to the country – in fact they are trying to bring it down, quite deliberately. They are therefore as bad as any terrorist, foreign or domestic, and my Constitution requires I defend my nation from them.

As for 2004 – did Swiftboating work? Maybe. It helped.

But it got a bad run in the media, now it’s a bad idea. Swiftboating isn’t good anymore, it’s bad, especially to Middle America.

Another reason, in 2004, Bush didn’t win as much as Kerry lost.

Kerry was clearly a Massachussets liberal of the old Ted Kennedy style, and everyone knew it. They had clips of this guy throwing his medals over the White House walls.

Have you got any clips of Obama saying “the military are fuckheads”? or of HIM and not his WIFE or his PASTOR saying “I hate America”.

The only thing we have on Obama is “guns and money” and that’s been flogged to death too. So find something, or hit him on meat and potatoes issues that really resonate with Middle America. Because seriously, Rezko and Ayers don’t matter. They don’t. We’ve got 4 weeks to win this thing, don’t fuck it up.

ok i will buy it. Your not an astroturfing troll..your just a republican suffering from Obama Derangement Syndrome, relax there are 4 weeks to go.

Plenty of time for the race to change.

Plenty of time for an asteroid to impact the planet and put us all out of our misery too…dont worry.

              • jamjam

Yeah, Obama Derangement Syndrome is right – but this thing is serious. Four weeks is a long time, I know that, but the thing is, four weeks is not going to get the financial crisis outta the news.

I used to work for a conservative print news magazine, and the news cyce for something like a missing tourist is a week or two, the news cycle for a disaster can be a month or more, the news cycle for this kind of thing is ‘however long it takes until the market hits rock bottom’.

And every time they run a news story about the markets, a voter goes to Obama.

I’m mad as hell that McCain was nominated in the first place, Giuliani should have been the man. But we’ve got McCain, he’s the best we’ve got.

Now I’m mad his fucking advisors aren’t advising him very well. They need to get the undecideds, not try and convince the American people that Ayers and Rezko are baddies UNLESS they have video to that effect.

Everyone saw Wright was a dirtbag because they saw the video. People need all this detail and history about Ayers and Rezko explained to them.

You guys are always going on about these deep connections here, but people don’t want to hear more than 2 lines about someone, even then it’s a stretch. They’d rather see to be convinced.

You need to make voters FEEL.

You need to make them FEEL like they hate Obama, like Obama hates the country.

They have to really HATE Ayers and Rezko, like you guys do, and they can’t be convinced of that hatred in four weeks – not with all the typeface in the world. Get audio or video and it’s a different matter.

            • athena

Hillary started winning more and more states after this Ayers, Wright, et al came out…..

After February 20th Hillary won 9 out of 13 primary elections. She won 500,000 more votes (after Feb) than BOBO.

All this is relevant because of 9/11. We did not think something like this could happen. Just like you don’t think it is possible that the terrorists, American haters that he has called friends, mentors and associates HATE American values. It is possible.

              Go the fuck away!

              • jamjam

Then it’s already out, and it’s done and it’s dusted.

Not to mention she on among DEMOCRATS. You gotta understand there’s a fundamental difference between Democratic primaries, and the GE.

The General Election voting undecideds have been exposed to dirt by both camps. They know that a smear ad is a smear ad. They’re cynical about these things.

I know as well as you do, that Obama’s buddies hate America and hate what we stand for. They hate all that is well and good.

Not only that, Obama hates America. He’s running to destroy this country, what better place to tear something down, than the very top?

But that’s not the question. The question is CAN YOU CONVINCE people that Obama hates America?

You can’t. You can only convince them that he’s not right for the Presidency.

As for your last remark, you’re probably a Democrat since you mentioned Hillary and you probably followed that race – so fuck yourself, if you want to know who has run this country down it’s your fellow, or ex-fellow Party members, Bolshevik slime every last one of them. Don’t tell me to fuck off, you’re the one who put us in this mess.

As I said to you above, don’t just rattle off the things you usually rattle off. This thing is serious. I’m serious. You are going to make us lose if you don’t stop bullshitting around.

‘Monet’ below may be a Democrat but unfortunately now it’s time for us to sit down and come out swinging. We need to think before we hit.

People, as that guy said, see smears as nothing. Hell, when I see a Democrat ad, or whenever anyone I know sees one, they say ‘It’s just a Democrat ad, these guys are throwing barbs, it’s all bullshit’.

Same deal with attack ads based on people you’ve never heard of.

Why did Reverend Wright hurt Obama? Video.

It was scary to see him go nuts.

Where’s the video of Ayers? Of Rezko? You people are insane if you think undecided voters are going to read about these crooks. They need to be shown.

Otherwise forget it. You can’t introduce two Osama bin Laden style baddies to the American public in a month, through typeface.

We gotta hit Obama where it hurts, on taxes, on crime – on issues that make him look empty, and make Americans look in their wallets and realise this guy’s going to make them poorer.

That’s the way to win. Not what you guys are doing, that’s the way you lost against Hillary and you’ll lose it again for us if you keep it up.

            THINK!

            • Monet

“Monet’ below may be a Democrat but unfortunately now it’s time for us to sit down and come out swinging. We need to think before we hit.”

I’m an independent who has voted for Democratic candidates in previous presidential elections. Not this year. Unfortunately, as you state – most voters consider information concerning Senator Obama’s associations with Rezko, Ayers, Wright, etc… to be conspiracy smears. They don’t take it seriously, unless there is a video of Senator Obama discussing strategy with those men to overtake the U.S. government.

I’m supporting McCain even though I’m pro-choice and none of the coercion that Roe will be overturned is working on me. None of the Ayers, Wright, Rezko associations is going to work on Obama supporters without a smoking gun.

You’re correct, what voters will take seriously is that the economy is going to continue to fall, inflation increase and taxes rise under an Obama administration. That after the $700 billion buy out, there is no way there will be any universal health coverage. The best we can do for the next several years is a $5k tax credit. The McCain campaign needs to hit the economy hard and prove it to the average American voter that Senator Obama will be a disaster for their personal finances. The McCain campaign has to get away from their stump speech that lowering taxes on corporations is going to increase the lifestyle of the average middle class American with wonderful job opportunities with wonderful paychecks. None of us believe in the trickle down theory. Instead they need to show us how Senator Obama’s policies are going to continue spirally the economy downwards into a black hole that will make the Great Depression look like a thriving economy.

As Sarah has said: “All of the above” approach Energy independence” and I add, the REAL Barack Hussein Obama, why he lied about Ayers (“someone who lives in the same street as I), his connection with Reines and Johnson of Fannie Mae and Freddie; HIS REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE and everything else in his closet. You’re right. They do need to know who they put in the White House.

But they rarely care about that.

If they did, Palin wouldn’t have been such a big hit. Who the hell knows what she got up to in Alaska?

I don’t, and I don’t care – what I care about and what undecided voters care about, is their money. Economy – the number one consideration.

Taxes, crime. They’ve been Republican meat and potato issues for years. Hell, Abortion still has a run for a wedge issue. But you think you can make people care about Rezko and Ayers? It takes too much time and attention to convince them, and all the PUMAs in the world won’t accomplish it. Hit him on taxes and crime, I guarantee you people will think again on this guy.

ok for 2 minutes i will assume you are not an undercover obot giving really bad advice.

How do you expect the McCain campaign to cover who is really responsible for the Housing credit crisis if the MSM refuses to cover it?

How do you expect meat and potatoes to matter when the MSM is pushing the Democrat meme that its DEREGULATION like MCCains that created this mess?

How do you expect anything to come out from the mccain campaign if the minute Palin opens her mouth the MSM is attackng her for beign ignorant?

ONly one way my friend. Palin Attack bring up Ayers Wright Rezko on and on.

MSM goes in frenzy and screams about it
McCain gets coverage, and he hits on judgement with one hand and the truth with the other about the crisis.

The Bailouts in the bag now the Naming of Names will begin. Relax watch and see.

Its a long long way to November 4 and there are 2 debates left where McCain gets to talk unfiltered and un edited to the public.

The More hey offend the MSM and their darling Omessiah and his Dirty Past the more coverage they will get.

Its time to play the real game.

So if you really are a republican send your advice to the McCain campaign if you think its that good.

But if you are actually an astroturfing opot trying to lay the foundation that america doesn’t care about wright ayers rezko on and on to undercut the McCain campaign and try to get them to back off before they go full on negative, too bad so sad astroturfing doesnt work here.

                  • jamjam

You think my advice is bad, that’s fine, but don’t discount it before you think about it.

I’ve worked on political campaigns, and they all have fundamental similarities, from congressional races to Presidential races.

I’ve seen a few times what works and what doesn’t work.

What’s more important is what works and WHEN it works, and what doesn’t work and WHEN it doesn’t work.

Read ‘The Art of War’ and ‘The Prince’, they are fundamental political reading.

It’s very easy for people to come to a blog and get things off their chest then go back to daily life and forget about the election.

But you can’t forget about it. Not anymore. This thing is too serious to EVER forget about, for one waking minute. Fuck, you gotta DREAM about beating McCain.

But don’t sleep much because you gotta spend every second you have working against Obama if you want to win. I’m serious. I assume you guys are all either members of the Republican Party or members of organisations who are working for the Republican Party.

If not then JOIN. You won’t win by whining here on No Quarter if you don’t do anything else. You have to get organized and get serious.

Remember who you’re up against. This is a WAR, and the flaming liberal Democrats will burn this country to the ground if they get in.

As for how McCain handles the credit crisis: DIVERT. Not to Ayers but to taxes. No one wants their taxes raised, but Obama has voted to raise taxes NINETY FOUR times. That’s people, average people like you and me getting hit in the wallet. That’s our money being stolen by the liberal leftist elite. Well, fuck that.

Forget the media on ‘deregulation’. People don’t know what it means.

Work more on Obama’s image. He’s not so great on the economy, people just don’t know it. He just memorised more talking points on the issue than McCain has.

McCain was dumb enough during the Republican race to admit he had no idea about the economy. Now he’s gotta come back and fight.

Palin is good – forget the media on Palin. People love her. The Couric interview was a fuckup, but the debate was a win and now she’s a winner. Don’t let her on any TV screen unscripted or unsupervised and she’ll do great. People love her, like I said, conservatives love this woman and she appeals to conservative-leaning undecideds. She’s familiar.

It seems like you watch too much TV – or you take away TOO MUCH from the media.

The media have ALWAYS been Democratic, ever since I can remember. But why is it that Republicans have been in the White House plenty more times, and even recently, if the MSM is so powerful?

They’re not that powerful, they’re annoying, but if you waste your time getting angry about them, you’re wasting valuable time you could spend going after the real enemy, the guys pulling the strings of the media.

The debates are important, yes, but they won’t hand this thing to McCain. It’s not Kennedy-Nixon 1960 all over again, but it doesn’t look good.

In this day and age, where everyone wants to fuck a hot 20 year old celebrity princess, it’s to be expected that ignorant Hollwood loving Democrats will judge on appearance alone.

That’s why we heard McCain was ‘angry’ or ‘talking down’ to Obama or ‘sneering’. He wasn’t SNEERING for Christ’s sakes, he was looking at his notes, like anyone does in a debate, and he was smiling.

But lemme tell you something if you think the media will help you. They won’t.

You go on for ages about how bad the media is, then you come out and tell me by running stories about some guys no one even knows, the media will help win us this election.

                    Not likely.

You CANNOT convince people that Ayers and Rezko are bad. You can’t do it pal. You just can’t do it, not with pictures and not with text and I’ve seen too much of both lately.

You need VIDEO or at least audio of these guys talking rubbish about America. And you need to convince people Obama was buddies with them.

It’s one thing for the guys Pastor who married him and gave him a book title to be a nut – it’s clear that doesn’t look good.

But for the other two? If it were true, the media would have run it.

Right now, the liberals at CNN have run the Ayers thing – and they ALWAYS quote the NYT, as Palin did. But they quote the bit that goes ‘in conclusion, Obama didn’t have much to do with William Ayers’, (paraphrase).

Four weeks is an eternity. But it’ll take four weeks to get people to buy the Ayers thing.

Names dropping? You’re deluding yourself pal.

Listen to me: use your brain. Don’t get angry, I know it’s hard. Don’t lose the plot. Be cold about this thing. Be cold as ice.

I know it feels good to want to get out there and hit Obama, to throw his anti-American connections in his fucking face. Yeah! But it doesn’t work.

You gotta be detached, you gotta be cold. Otherwise you’re going to hand this thing to our enemies and if Obama wins, lemme tell you something, if Obama wins his name might as well be Osama, and we might as well have handed the keys to the Oval Office to Osama bin Laden and his fucking buddies in Tora Bora.

Lastly, I looked up astroturfing. We used to call it ‘shilling’ for the other guy.

If you think I’m astroturfing, you can think that all you like.

But undercutting the Republican cause I won’t ever do, not now or anytime until I’m in the cold ground.

Join an action group. Astroturf yourself. Do anything and everything because the times, my friend, are going to be very rough if Obama wins this thing. Very rough indeed.

        • Leisa

Obama does not look presidential. He comes across as a whiner, just as he did when Hillary slapped the snot out of him in the last debate. He goes out on the stump and complains instead of talking about issues. Yeah, that is sooo presidential.

McCain and Palin are talking about other issues besides Obama’s questionable character. They sure are not whining about being called liars and racists, which is exactly what Obama has proven to be.

          • jamjam

And who won that campaign? Fucking Obama won it.

The first rule of a political campaign is don’t ever let your heart get in the way of your head.

You people here are always letting your hearts run your minds. You have to be cold, you can’t sit around griping like fucking pensioners.

Obama beat Hillary – you people said Hillary would beat him.

But by Christ he won’t beat McCain, not if we can help it.

Don’t fuck this thing up. Think about it from an undecided voter’s perspective. Do they want to hear about how Obama is so evil because he hung around with some guys no one has ever heard of ?

They have to feel that he’s not right. You do that by smearing him but not on two guys no one’s ever heard of, except you here, you PUMAs on this website.

Hit him on his past, he’s soft on crime, there’s one thing – crime runs rampant in Chicago. 30 murders a day is not uncommon. Obama made it that way.

That’s what you have to do, you gotta prove yourself, don’t be dead weight and don’t lose us this election because it’s too important.

            • countryfirst_obamanever

Believe it or not, A LOT of voters do not know anything about Obama and have just started paying attention to the election. I know, scary that people would spend very little time on this most important right. I thought Hannity’s show was excellent – bringing up all of Obama’s shady associations, his involvement with Acorn, Freddie and Fannie. Hit BO from all sides and he won’t know where to turn.

I hope/pray Mac asks at the debate, “So, Senator Obama, how well do you know William Ayres? And, don’t tell me I am deflecting from the issues because as an American, I have the right to know how long you’ve known and what your involvement is with a man who bombed the Pentagon and said he didn’t do enough.” Obama would need a bucket by his podium to catch all his sweat.

            • countryfirst_obamanever

              Drudge also has …
Ayers, Obama shared stage in 1997; Michelle Obama praised…

              Excellent.

              • jamjam

Firstly, Drudge is a Republican site. Undecided voters don’t read drudge.

I like the guy because he broke the story on Monica Lewinsky, but I don’t think that many undecided or independent voters know or like Drudge.

Secondly, yeah, there are people who are ignorant to Obama’s connections. But my point is, you can’t convince them in 30 days – when every night, EVERY night if they watch the TV news they’ll see that wall street graph sliding lower and lower. They’ll get scared.

What’s the NUMBER ONE issue for Americans right now? It’s the economy. Iraq is at 8 percent. You ex-Democrats can’t win an election by making Ayers an issue – you think you can make Ayers a big issue than the election? Once this thing has done the news cycle, and it nearly has, that’s it, forget it, people don’t wanna hear about it, it’s old news.

If I was wrong, Reverend Wright would still be a headline, regardless of John McCain’s nobility in saying he shouldn’t be.

    • Ferd McBerfle

If Rudy Guliani had won we wouldn’t be in this mess.

If that were the case, this PUMA would sit the election out. Talk to the paw.

On the other hand, if you want your candidate to win (and Oblockhead to lose), you best lay off those of us who can help make it happen. Don’t be like the obamalobotobot.

      • jamjam

Jesus Christ man, if Giuliani had won we wouldn’t have needed PUMA.

But now we do, so that’s why I am trying to convince your PUMA friends that they’re dead wrong. They hate Obama, so do I and so do we all, but to win we have to swallow that and work on the undecideds. We don’t want to look like the whiners here, as someone else called Obama. Make him look unpresidential and he’ll lose, that’s what it’s about.

  • jamjam

BTW LGF has better anti Obama stuff, more comprehensive and there are less Democrats to deal with over there.

Someone should tell those people in the media and those writing articles that making excuses for terrorists when you have soldiers deployed overseas fighting terrorism is so not way to go. These people have lost there damn minds. But thats okay because I will be passing out flyers, sending emails and everything else to let people know that Ayers is a “non issue”.

Sure. Continue to try and convince people in North Carolina, with one of the largest military bases in the U.S. That Ayers bombings and plots are not important. Please continue.

Obama supporters & surrogates you have not seen shit until you see 527s from one of those vet groups showing why we dont make excuse for terrorism or terrorists. I honestly have no sympathy for those who are about to be portrayed as traitors to this country by those 527s. I have no sympathy if there family’s be labeled that way either.

Because the moment they began to paint a rosy picture and make excuses for terrorist acts to put someone in the White House by forgeting the thousands of spouses and family members who lost people overseas fighting against what they are now making excuses for, my sympathy level went out the door. I am tired of them screwing over the military.

I have no sympathy for the 527s that come next. If your dumb enough to get on tv or write an article and make excuses for Ayers actions, you deserve everything coming to you.

People like Bob Herbert learned decades ago that they can use charges of racism to shut down a subject. No matter what the criticism, if it’s labeled racism, then a great portion of the media will be afraid to pursue it. McCain/Palin, however, have nothing to lose by going at Bobo full steam. The vast majority of voters will not vote for The Precious One because they feel sorry for him. Anyone that silly was won over by his camp long ago, and the big danger for The Flim-Flam Man now is that such fools will come to their senses! Most Americans are sick and tired of race being used to manipulate, and they will not respond to this sort of coersion.

    • stodghie

Considering that “Swiftboat Syle attacks” consists of going around the media to tell the American people the truth about a politician, yes, Palin is using Swiftboat style attacks to inform the American people about Obama’s association with Ayers.

    You go, girl!

  • Monet

An Obama spokesman has made it on the cable news shows this morning to “discuss” Ayers. He didn’t answer questions, instead evaded them with:

    1. The New York Times published an article over the weekend and said Senator Obama barely knew Mr. Ayers. Read the article and you’ll see the issue is dead, there’s nothing here.

(Gee, we didn’t see that coming – did we. Another news plant).

    2. The Annenberg Challenge was just some education fund, it wasn’t important at all.

(I understand in the days of $700 billion buyouts that $100 million sounds like a co-ed’s mad money for cab fare if her date gets drunk at the homecoming dance, but a fund with over $100 million and the goal to restructure an entire school system, isn’t “just some education fund.”)

    3. Woods was a charity, Senator McCain is attacking charities!!!

(Oh my, how dare the McCain campaign attack Senator Obama’s do-gooder charitable work).

    4. Mr. Ayers was leading the Weather Underground centuries ago and Mr. Axelrod says Senator Obama didn’t even know about Mr. Ayers’ radical background at that little coffee klatch to introduce him to the Chicago liberals with deep pockets.

(Notorious radicals who once built bombs hold the first ever political funding event for a naive, clueless budding politician with presidential goals all the time – there’s nothing unusual or suspicious about this at all.)

    5. The McCain campaign is throwing out slurs because they don’t want to talk about the economy.

(I guess under the Senator Obama stump speech model, if you talk about William Ayers, there isn’t any time left over to talk about the economy too).

    • Arabella Trefoil

Weak statements. They won’t be able to talk about techinicalities when the American people hear about Ayers planning to blow up innocent people in a restaurant for the sake of revolution.

An FBI informant hear Ayers say this, by the way.

      • Monet

Weak statements thirty years ago. Not today, when the Obama campaign is calling Governor Palin the “fluffy bunny” and Senator McCain “erratic and out of touch.” No one gives fluffy bunnies and erratic, out of touch candidate’s warnings any merit. They consider it just the latest smear, nothing there to take seriously.

Heck, last month after his interview with Senator Obama, even Fox News had Bill O’Reilly saying that he thinks Senator Obama really believes what William Ayers did in the 1970′s has no significance with the relationship he has had with Mr. Ayers for the past ten to twenty years. If Bill O’Reilly thinks Senator Obama believes his relationship with Mr. Ayers isn’t improper and the NY Times says there’s nothing there, is anyone going to pay attention other than right wing Republicans and Hillary Democrats? No one pays attention to right wing Republicans (they brought us George W.) or the sore loser, too emotional, whining Hillary Democrats.

The McCain campaign better have something big in their bag of tricks, beyond what we’ve seen so far that proves Mr. Ayers is still a dangerous radical and Senator Obama has been or is directly involved with Mr. Ayers’ social change plans. Otherwise, the William Ayers association isn’t going to be anymore damaging than the Rev. Wright association.

        • Arabella Trefoil

Did you see Hannity last night?

Just because Ayers crimes happened “long ago” does not make them less heinous. Ayers and his pals killed and maimed people. They would have killed more if circumstances hadn’t intervened.

They have stuff on Obama that makes him unelectable. It’s a disgrace that people belittle the suffering caused by a band of spoiled teenagers and their enabling parents.

          • Monet

Yes, I saw Hannity last night. People planning to vote for Senator Obama aren’t going to be swayed by it. They’ll see it as another tabloid news show, nothing to take seriously – just a smear that Fox News is known for.

The McCain campaign needs direct evidence to link Senator Obama to Mr. Ayers’ ideologies and nefarious plans to take over America. People don’t see the two sitting on boards together as direct evidence.

Senator Obama’s connections with Mr. Ayers, Mr. al-Mansoor, Rev. Wright and Mr. Rezko have convinced me that I can’t vote for him. But I’m not the average voter, I don’t take NY Times articles as the final word. I take the time to research allegations, connect dots between facts and draw my own conclusions. The average voter doesn’t. They vote with their party and if their party says this is a right-wing conspiracy supported by Fox News, they’ll disregard everything to do with Ayers. The public is tired of scandals that go nowhere, unless there is direct evidence of Senator Obama in the Ayers’ cookie jar, the average voter is going to disregard Senator Obama’s connections with William Ayers. Just as they have done with his connection to Rev. Wright.

            • Arabella Trefoil

The undecided voters will be swayed by the news Hannity reported.

It’s a waste of time to go after the people who are going to vote for Obama. All Obama is doing now is trying to hold onto his base, and that’s not enough to win the election.

At this point, it’s about winning the undecided vote and voter turn out.

              • Monet

If one believes the current polls, if all the undecideds vote for Senator McCain, that makes the election a dead heat. The winner will be the one who illegally manipulated the vote best in the battleground states.

Unless McCain has manipulated voting machines, he has to do more than get the undecideds to vote for him since the Obama campaign is busy voting early and frequently. McCain has to get Obama supporters to vote for him too. To do that, he needs a smoking gun. There’s nothing new with Ayers, Rezko, Wright, etc. that is going to do that. His best bet is to prove, not make allegations, that Obama is going to kill the economy and put us all in soup lines – that is if there’s enough money left to even fund soup lines.

    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bijtBkKQwY8 Jeremiah God Damn Barack Amerikkka Wright

      as predicted.

Get the In the Tank Media to Post a whitewash about it and then use the whitewash story to prove your talking points when you send campaign surrogates out.

Get the in the tank media to put out a Palin is Racist story. Then send your campaign surrogotaes out to agree that there is racial tinge and its wrong.

In both cases playing like your hands are clean and you are just responding to what the illustrious press already discovered for you.

      Is america really that dumb?

      Obama sure hopes so.

      YOU BETCHA!

      • Arabella Trefoil

America is not that dumb. Obama is in for a shock.

It’s clear that the people at Palin’s rallies don’t believe the media. And that’s just one example.

        • Monet

Obama supporters aren’t at Palin rallies. They aren’t watching Fox News. They watch MSNBC and occasionally CNN. They consider Fox News to be in the pocket of right wing Republicans and anything reported on Fox News is unreliable at best and manufactured lies at worst.

49% (or whatever the statistic is this hour) of Americans supporting Senator Obama aren’t going to change their minds because of Fox News. They aren’t watching it. Even Fox who had someone on from the Obama campaign this morning to refute Governor Palin’s allegations over the weekend about William Ayers, managed not to have someone on to counter the Obama campaign that the Ayers allegations are made-up smears.

Unless there is evidence that puts Senator Obama directly in the Ayers’ cookie jar, the Ayers connection isn’t going to dissuade too many voters who have already decided to vote for Senator Obama. Which means we go into November 4th in a dead heat and the campaign that has done a better job of manipulating the vote illegally, wins the election. Just like President Bush did in ’00 and ’04. What is currently going on in Ohio has the Obama campaign doing a better job of illegal vote manipulation, they’re stacking Ohio with votes for Senator Obama long before any October Surprises could change this election.

Senator McCain needs a smoking gun to overcome the illegal vote manipulation and so far, I’m not seeing any smoking guns directly in Senator Obama’s hands.

  • PGraber

What the people who support BHO don’t seem to understand, WE DO NOT WANT TO DISCUSS policies, the economy, the war, etc., etc., with a man who is friends with terrorists. Plain and simple.

I am so proud of FOX for spitting out the kool-aid and actually discussing what the country needs to hear before BHO wins the election and ruins the United States of America.

  • jangles

Fox has actually launched a three pronged attack of the One. Their special on the economic crisis was negative to Dems in general and supportive of McCain in particular. It was very well done. That was supported by the smack down of Barney Frank by OReilly and the news that Frank’s domestic partner was working for FF. Then we have the Hannity blow on character. On Greta we have interviews with the Palin family and Sarah in particular that are positive. And Fox ratings are ballooning. We need to do everything we can to encourage as many people as possible to watch Fox. (I can’t believe I am saying this.)

I think there are a lot of silent people, who are afraid to say they aren’t voting for Obama. I also think there are a lot of people who are afraid to say they made a mistake picking Obama. I don’t believe it is far fetched to wonder if there are some dems who have kept quiet because they see the mistake they made in the primary. Those of us who were angry and left the party after the fiasco of the selection of the one, haven’t changed, a bit on not voting dem, voting republican, voting against O, whatever the case may be.
Some of us have lost friends or even contact with family members over this election; so it seems there may be some people who are not willing to say anything to the contrary out loud, literally for fear of backlash from ridicule to racism; as well as being subjected to outright prejudice for not voting dem. I’m not thinking Bradley effect, I’m thinking O supporter effect, and being able to finally let loose in the voting booth; no one will be the wiser, but for now and for quite a long time, I think some people have not said a word out loud or have pretended to be undecided, because of this fear. I think there is also a tremendous amount of pressure, to just pick a “winner” for once, for dems, due to losing and losing, then losing again in the primary. Some people question their ability to trust their decision in their vote; these people may be easily led, or may well keep their true vote on the inside until election day.

    • wodiej

I think this is totally believeable.

On our local news they had Richardson on saying they want to turn Indiana blue and think they can and they can win the election if they do. Palin calls Wrights Comments Appaling!!

Palin also made clear that she was eager for the McCain-Palin campaign to be more aggressive in helping the American people understand “who the real Barack Obama is.” Part of who Obama is, she said, has to do with his past associations, such as with the former bomber Bill Ayers. Palin had raised the topic of Ayers Saturday on the campaign trail, and she maintained to me that Obama, who’s minimized his relationship with Ayers, “hasn’t been wholly truthful” about this.

I pointed out that Obama surely had a closer connection to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright than to Ayers — and so, I asked, if Ayers is a legitimate issue, what about Reverend Wright?

She didn’t hesitate: “To tell you the truth, Bill, I don’t know why that association isn’t discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that — with, I don’t know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn’t get up and leave — to me, that does say something about character. But, you know, I guess that would be a John McCain call on whether he wants to bring that up.”

          GO SARAH-CUDA!!

Look Out Barry here comes another one of your past associations distractions!!!

          YOU BETCHA!!

I agree if Obama has to win this lets go down kicking and screaming that is the American way, he wants it well come and take it if you can.

None of this standing in the corner and wondering what to do, we all know this man is not good for America, not good for out kids, not good for out national security so why give up or give in, fight to protect the American dream and all that she stands for.

I am sure as hell not going to let Obama come and change my way of life just like that, am going to make sure I vote for Mc Cain/ Palin, at least I would know when it is all said and done and if it does not turn out as I voted that I did not give in or give up I fought till Nov 4th, for what I believed in.

This isn’t the time to worry over campaign’s trying to be polite. Being polite will not serve our economy, our gas tanks, our soldiers or our future. Let Gov Palin, hit them where they live. Bring every nasty thing to the front, constantly; O wants coverage then give him coverage via being hit on every lie, every association and every nasty move his campaign and he have made; there are plenty. Time to remind.

Palin is not being racist by talking about truth regarding Barack. H. Obama. And she should not stop just because they accuse her of racism.

The Dow opened with a 200 point loss this morning and is still falling. Americans don’t want to hear this guilt by association crap. They want real solutions to real problems. McCain/Palin aren’t giving them anything. Obama is. There is the difference.

This weeks talking points were already posted by your commiepatriot jamjam.

We already heard that americans don’t want to hear guilt by association.

No they want to hand the country over to a guy with no experience to heal the planet and turn back the waters…sure sure.

Celsius, you’re wasting our precious time and your master’s money. Your Kool-Aide spawned gobbledegook won’t convince anyone of anything except that you’re a monumentally ignorant android. We already know that and don’t need constant reminders. Please seek medical attention or at least a hard reboot–it might save your life (or what’s left of it).

Celsius: Polls are to facts as your posts are to truth = null intersect. Next, please.

Sorry Kelvin but I want to dam well hear all the dirt on Obama, this man is not running for dog catcher of the year he is running for POTUS.

How in heavens name can anyone feel comfortable thinking of Obama’s past associations and he being President? That is scary what if and I have to what if all that is being said has some validity in it, and these outside forces have a master plan to get Obama into the WH for their own personal mission?

Every American should take a hard look at who Obama mixed with, every American should demand that more is told about Obama past, why all the cover up and sealed documents.

For god sakes Obama could not even pass the smell test to run for a government position of some backward third world country, yet here he is being given the chance to run for the position of POTUS and no one cares to find out or investigate anything about him, yet in the past every other candidate for President life was a open book.

I do feel something don’t add up here and every American should be very concerned about this before they vote, a failing economy is one thing but a man with a hidden agenda sitting as President of the USA can be a very dangerous thing for the world and our country in the long run.

    Drudge also has …
Ayers, Obama shared stage in 1997; Michelle Obama praised…

    Excellent!

  • kcfromtx

When barky says he wasn’t close to Ayers, does he mean close like Donald Young and Larry Sinclair or close like Rezko who he did 5 hours of work for on some church charity thingy.

  • Felizarte

Obama will have the likes of Ayers, Wright, Pfleger and Michelle in his influential KITCHEN CABINET that can subvert the official acts or advice of his official cabinet and advisers.

  • Felizarte

I think Obama’s real friends don’t ming being “thrown under the bus”. It is probably a pre-determined tactic, similar to the good cop, bad cop routine. The goal is to get Obama elected, no matter how he does it. The situation will be entirely different once that goal is achieved. This is the most scary part of all. We don’t know who else will be sleeping in the whitehouse aside from Obama, Michelle and his children.

  • BABALU08

I WONDER, WHAT MUSLIM WORLD THINKS ABOUT OBAMAS REJECTING HIS RELIGION(ISLAM) FOR CHRITIANISM, OR HE WILL BECOME MUSLIM AGAIN, ONCE HE BECOME PRESIDENT??? IT IS VERY POSSIBLE.I HOPE OBAMA IS NOT WHAT WE ALL THINKING, THAT HE IS!!!

    • JP49

Islam forgives him because you are allowed to lie to anyone who isn’t Muslim in order to achieve your goals.

Obama is guilty and has always been of using reverse racism. When I mentioned it months ago on a blog, someone came back and said there is no such thing as reverse racism. I corrected him or her, it exists and some of us are better at using it than others. This African American can truly say that Obama is a pro! He and his Obamabots use reverse racist tactics and the innocence of youth for their own selfish accomplishments that work to the detriment of America.
