déjà vu all over again. Obama reusing his primary tricks

I call it the Reverse Negative Twist. The guy is starting to use the trick he used so well against Hillary Clinton in the primary. It is the same trick that causes the media to say he’s staying above the fray while in reality he is the fray.
(CNN) — Sen. Barack Obama on Sunday charged that Sen. John McCain’s campaign is launching “Swift boat-style attacks” on him instead of addressing the country’s problems.
“Sen. McCain and his operatives are gambling that they can distract you with
smears rather than talk to you about substance. They’d rather try to tear our campaign down than lift this country up,” Obama said at an event in Asheville, North Carolina.
“That’s what you do when you’re out of touch, out of ideas, and running out of time,” he said.
The comments come a day after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain’s running mate, claimed that Obama associated “with terrorists who targeted our own country.”
This is what Obama does so well. He acuses his opponent of being negative and misleading in order to cause people to ignore the truth the opponent is speaking about. Instead the press, like the AP today, goes off and starts to accuse Governor Palin of racism rather than actually looking into the past of the One™ who may not be picked on.
I don’t want to get into the issues here. I won’t even point out past examples. You can and should for the enlightment of others.
I want to talk about the continued use by Obama of the Reverse Negative Twist. Virtually his entire campaign has been one of doing what he accuses his opponent of doing, but he does it while the press is looking where he pointed.
Does this sound racist? Doesn’t matter because one so-called journalist said it is, then it must be so. Palling around is a racial slur? Saying this is not change we can believe in, is racist? If these simple words from the mouth of Sarah Palin are enough to make Barack have gas, I can’t wait to see him when it gets nasty.
But Obama is using the Reverse Negative Twist to full effect today. Accuse Palin of being negative and ignoring issues so the press will wonder why Palin is negative and ignoring issues. Meanwhile Obama has just ignored issues and been supremely negative by accusing her of negativity.
The Reverse Negative Twist, an Obama art form.
ps Definition of Palling Around
pal (pl) Informal n. A friend; a chum. intr.v. palled, pal·ling, pals To associate as friends or chums.
Often used with around. [Romany phral, phal, from Sanskrit bhrt, bhrtr-, brother; see bhrter- in Indo-European roots.]
Word History: Pal, like buddy and chum, has an informal, thoroughly “American” ring to it. Its source, though, is rather unusual, Romany, the Indic language of the Gypsies. First recorded in English in the 17th century, pal was borrowed from a Romany word meaning “brother, comrade,” which occurs as phal in the Romany spoken in England and phral in the Romany spoken in Europe. Gypsies speak an Indic language because they originally migrated to Europe from the border region between Iran and India. In other Indic languages we find related words meaning “brother,” such as Hindustani bhi and Prakrit bhda or bhy; they all come from Sanskrit bhrt, which in turn traces its ancestry to the same Indo-European word that our word brother does.
