Berg is furious b/c it is a simple response that Obama has to make like McCain did, provide an accurate birth certificate.

Obama does not want to do it b/c it does not exist. Obama is an INDONESIAN CITIZEN BY ADOPTION and he is still called Barry Soetoro. I think the momentum of the Berg case is not the court since the judge is sitting on his hands. But there is media attention now and I think there will be more. A lot of people I know who previously thought it was just another conspiracy theory are now scratching their heads and wondering why the heck he wants to go through all this just to avoid showing his birth certificate? There is no plausible return for Obama in fighting so hard to keep the records secret UNLESS there is something there he really doesn’t want to come out.

The problem with the debate format is that on issues of complexity it’s very difficult to call bs when it occurs or demonstrate what is wrong with the opponents response. In effect, both candidates are judged by what appears to be a good response.

For example, McCain slew Obama over O’s plan for dealing with Pakistan, but most people do not know this because they lack the expertise to judge the merit of both candidates responses. McCain’s comments that “Obama did not understand” were true, but less than effective because the format prevented McCain from demonstrating that Obama’s position was wrongheaded. The comments were less than effective because saying Obama did not understand looks like a slight to someone who cannot tell the difference between the candidates positions. Obama did not critique McCain because he knew too little to do so.

In short, Obama won the issue by looking like he knew something about the issue and because he lacked the knowledge to critique McCain on the issue.

McCain has a tough row to hoe. Will the debate format give him a needle to prick underneath the narcissist’s thin-skin?

The Article was a link on the Blog called U.S.A. Survival News to the complete FBI Files on Frank Marshall Davis who was Obama’s “Mentor” in Hawaii, he called him FRANK in his book

Laura Bush has just had the White House lighted pink for Breast Cancer Awareness … something else we can all support together. My wife’s mom is a survivor so it’s significance to me is very big as this is so often an hereditary illness.

If you wish to repeat statements please do so accurately and in context. Palin’s so called “welcome” statement to the party was out of fairness and inclusion, to treat everyone equally. That is what you people do not understand about this woman. She is one of very strong convictions, yet she does not allow that to get in her way of governing. She understands there are opinions opposite of hers and respects those who have them. She understands that she needs to respect those differing from her because she needs to work with them i.e. she does not start the day pissing off the democrats by arguing abortion or gay issues because there are more important things on the table like environment and economics that she needs there support on.

Sounds like someone that could do a pretty good job with a bi-partisian senate if you ask me. I am just so sure Republicans are going to jump across party lines to support Obama in all his liberal crap.

Lisa, I think this is a very intelligent analysis. I, for one, am hoping for something beyond the “Whitey Tape,” which has become something of a holy grail. I have a rather naive hope that they could be sitting on some more pertinent evidence: proof of birth in Kenya or some other country would do it. But like you say, if something exists, they can’t very well reveal it at the last moment. It has to come very soon.

The Weather Underground disbanded right after the Vietnam War ended, about 1976. The war was the main rallying issue of the left against the status quo. I hate Obambi, but actually admire the WU for what they tried to accomplish. In the end though, when Ayers talks about being unrepentent and not doing more, given the politics and heat of the times, I rather admire it. I certainly hope that Obama believes in the distributive aspects of Socialism.

I doubt if he has any false hopes about a planned economy aspect since Socialist enterprises have fallen short in incentive compatibility and disciplined pluralism. Some failures have been more spectacular than others.

My guess is that he will adapt some sort of plan to continue reformist capitalism and try to muddle through the way the past Presidents have. His initial hurdle is that the Reagan and post-Reagan blunders have diminished the assets he can employ to effect a solution.

However, it the country gets into a Big D Depression, events just might get out of hand.
