Obama said he wrote letters about needing regulations on fannie & freddie, but Greenspan was there two years ago Not Berneke,( spelled wrong) boy he can really lie , especially since he was one of the democrats who stalled talks on this when many republicans were trying to impose regulatons

I think Senator McCain's health care plan may start looking better than Senator Obama's. The Obama plan offers the option of buying into the federal employees' plans. Great for people who have extra money at the end of the month. But even people making six figures an year right now don't have extra money at the end of the month with the high cost of energy, food, etc. The McCain plan is offering people $5k to buy health insurance. Not much of a plan for a family of four, but they might just be able to get a plan that covers hospitalization without having to invest much of their own funds. By raising the child deduction thingy, they might have a few more thousand to put towards health insurance. That's better than no health insurance. If you're single, $5k buys a plan with a few bells and whistles.

I think Senator McCain needs to start stressing that his plan gives people a way to afford at least basic health care while Senator Obama's plan leaves people who can't fit health insurance premiums into their budget without insurance. We can forget the Federal government being able to help people under the Obama plan with lowering premiums any time soon. And no, I don't buy his argument that cutting down on paper by utilizing a national database with our health care information is going to cut down on medical costs. First, I'm not sure all that many people are going to want their health information in a national database and even if it works, the medical industry will find another way to spend the money it saves. They won't lower health care costs.

McCain was tortured by Communists, while Obama was brainwashed and entirely co-opted by them. That "sad former shell of himself advanced the major new idea coming out of that debate while Obama rambled on with his ummms and ahhhhs.

I gave Senator Obama a half point for how he deflected Senator McCain's Warren Buffet comment. I didn't give Senator McCain a point for the Mr. Buffet comment because I'm not sure how the average American views Mr. Buffet. Do they think he's a financial wizard on a white horse that has been doing more than Congress and the White House to resolve the Wall Street mess or do they have negative connotations that the richest man in the world is supporting Senator Obama?

I also gave Senator Obama a half point for noticing the audience was showing interest in how Senator McCain was bringing the audience into his answers by talking to and approaching them and quickly adopting that method into his answers.

When i was still in elementary school, i read a news story of a refrigeration plant in China that had the grave misfortune of attracting the government’s attention for inefficiency. The military executed 50 of the plants senior personnel in front of the watching workers, as a motivational lesson to improve productivity.

Having seen the format of tonight’s debate, the week questions, and Tom’s incompetence as a moderator, i can’t help but would have happened if this debate had been held in China too? Would some public executions improve future debates?

:=D

Also... these 3 bloated eels, Beckell, Morris, & Luntz need to slither back to the sewers they crawled from. Why does FNC keep inviting these wretched secretions back on their show to let them vomit all over the microphone & camera? As if we give a plague-puckered rat's end what they have to say? Surely they can find people that can make intelligent commentary or produce a scientific poll?

Did anyone notice how Obama talked about the surplus this country had when Bush came into office?

Of course, he won't say that two-term President Bill Clinton created that surplus because he had this country on the right track.

Obama never gives credit to Bill Clinton, and people wonder why Clinton doesn't go out of his way to endorse that clown. Everytime Obama is asked about a President he admires, he always talks about Reagan.

Clinton has a foundation that fights AIDS all around the world, malaria in Africa, and the best Dem President this country has had in a long time. Obama should be kissing Bill's ass for an endorsement. He isn't even on Bill's level, but Obama's arrogant supporters act like he owes Obama something, when it's the exact opposite.

I agree with you. Thanks for your thoughtful post.

Brokaw should not have "addendum-ed" on to the questions. His add-ons were not useful and too media elite/highbrow. Let the people ask!!!

Additionally, Brokaw should have interupted them both when they went over their allotted time. Or else, a loud beeper/air horn should've gone off. The pace was far too slow and added to the boring quotient.

Brokaw gets an F, yes.
