Midday Open Thread * Outrage

Last week, although you never heard a word about it anywhere, over 300 flag officers endorsed McCain/Palin. Today, over 100 retired ambassadors just endorsed McCain/Palin (and I’ll post that info below).

I just heard V.P Joe Biden — who cannot tamp down his arrogance although god knows a hell of a lot of people have tried to get him to shut up before he blows it like he always does — say this at a rally, typing as I heard him:

Last week I had a debate with Sarah Palin. At least I think it was a debate.

[Much audience laughter. Biden pauses.]

Last night, Barack Obama had a debate with John McCain.

Now, I realized that I’m slightly prejudiced about our ticket, but if this were the best of five series, it would be over.

Ladies and gentlemen … [two sentences] … ladies and gentlemen … [one sentence] … ladies and gentlemen … Is “Ladies and gentlemen” a nervous vocal tic?

That’s Joe Biden in his typical big-chested, boastin’ Joe manner.

::::::

Here’s some of the statement about the endorsement by the ambassadors:

Prominent former U.S. ambassadors endorsing the McCain-Palin ticket include former Ambassador to Japan, Senate Majority Leader and White House Chief of Staff Howard Baker; President George H. W. Bush, former Ambassador to the United Nations; former Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton; former Secretary of Defense and former Ambassador to Portugal, Frank Carlucci III; former Ambassador to the Vatican and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson; and Ambassadors Richard Burt (Germany), Bruce Gelb (Belgium), Margaret Heckler (Ireland), John L. Loeb (Denmark), Ed Ney (Canada) and Julia Chang Bloch (Nepal), the first U.S. ambassador of Asian descent.

Democrat Mark W. Erwin, a former Hillary Clinton supporter and an ambassador during the Clinton administration, is co-chair of the group. “I will vote for John McCain because the differences between the two candidates are so vast and profound,” he said.

“Senator Obama does not have sufficient leadership experience, nor has he been tested in difficult times,” Erwin said in his endorsement.

Other co-chairmen of the group called “Former U.S. Ambassadors for McCain/Palin” are former U.S. Ambassador to Sweden Gregory J. Newell and former Ambassador Gilbert A. Robinson, both of whom served in the Reagan administration. Newell also served as an assistant to President Gerald Ford and as Assistant Secretary of State. Robinson was special adviser to Secretary of State George Shultz, Director of the Office of Public Diplomacy and Deputy Director of the United States Information Agency.

“Nobody could ask for a greater show of confidence,” Sen. McCain commented. “These former ambassadors are outstanding men and women who have served their country in foreign lands with great distinction and devotion to the values we all hold dear. They have a deep knowledge of the challenges facing this country abroad as well as at home. I am honored by their endorsement.”

Ambassador Robinson added, “The endorsements from this country’s most experienced foreign affairs experts are still pouring in. This demonstrates the overwhelming admiration and respect they have for John McCain’s leadership and the confidence they have in the historic McCain-Palin ticket.”

You left off the endorsement of President Bill Clinton, Senator (President in waiting) Hillary Rodham Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and Mama Rodham.

    CAROL HAKA

  • AnninCA

I saw their endorsement. Also, I saw the endorsement of enlisted people. Same thing. McCain all the way.

I have decided that campaigning numbs these guys. That also applies to Obama, btw. I’m fair-minded.

    They repeat, repeat, repeat.

Then they get on TV, and they forget. It’s so in their bones to do the stump answer that they forget the real answers.

    It’s an imperfect campaigning situation.

John is better than he appeared last night.

Obama is probably also better, too, in real situations.

The knee-jerk campaign answers are so unsatifying to the public that I agreed with all of the pundits today: Boring debate. Hardly anything new. Stalemate, which helps Obama. And….most important….voters lost out.

But….so it goes. You ask standard questions, they react like robots at this stage.

Biden is just spinning hot air. He may be the dangerous one, since he cannot seem to tell fact from fiction:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122325448093406451.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

And remember, Biden will say anything for the political moment. How about when he called Obama “not ready?”

But those are the morals one gets from a serial plagiarist.

John McCain and the Keating Five:

The bipartisan Senate Ethics Committee formally reprimanded Senator McCain for his role in the scandal. n McCain is the only major party presidential nominee in US history to have been rebuked, censured or otherwise admonished after a Congressional ethics investigation.

At the heart of the scandal was Keating’s Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which took advantage of deregulation in the 1980s to make risky investments with its depositors’ money. McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating with federal regulators tasked with preventing banking fraud, and championed legislation to delay regulation of the savings and loan industry- actions that allowed Keating to continue his fraud at an incredible cost to taxpayers.

When the savings and loan industry collapsed, Keating’s failed company put taxpayers on the hook for $3.4 billion and more than 20,000 Americans lost their savings.

I wish the debate monitor would ask the question of partial birth abortion.

    Check this out.
On Oct. 14, little Shanice Osbourne will finally be laid to rest 27 months after she was allegedly killed on the day she was aborted alive, July 20, 2006, by abortion clinic owner Belkis Gonzalez at A Gyn Diagnostics Center in Hialeah, FL.

In addition, notice of intent to initiate a civil lawsuit for medical negligence, wrongful death and personal injury has been filed against Gonzalez, abortionist Pierre Jean-Jacques Renelique and their conglomerate of four Dade Co. abortion clinics by Pennecamp Law in conjunction with the Thomas More Society.

Finally, some semblance of peace and justice?

On a hot summer day a little over two years ago, Sycloria Williams was in the throes of an induced-labor abortion of 22-week-old Shanice when the baby delivered alive.

A clinic worker, along with Williams, witnessed Gonzalez cut the cord and place the moving, breathing baby in a biohazard bag partially filled with chlorine bleach and zip it shut….

I wonder if there is any way to find out, which foreign Sheiks and potentates hold significant stocks in U.S. mainstream media? This is the only explanation I have for the total inattention of the media to Barack Hussein Obama’s missstatements, lies, distortions and flaws.

Was Biden selected or did he get the VP slot by default being the only one who would take the slot? Even then I wonder could he have been blackmailed? He is certainly inept and doing a terrible job as VP candidate.

In the Sante Fe New Mexican newspaper a letter was printed by a retired ambassador supporting Obama. When I ran his name on google, it was interesting to see he was born and grew up in Germany, and the countries he specialized in during his tenure were Muslim countries. His support group for Obama pales in comparison to this group for McCain. But you won’t ever see that in this paper. They are big time kool-aid drinkers. New Mexico has always been pro-BO even though Hill won the state.

Joe Biden, hey, you know, he heard some other Obama Democrat say that, so he just COULDN”T HELP HIMSELF TO NOT RE USE IT.

After all, this has become the ticket of emptiness. Reusing and the only recycling Obama’s ever seen, using someone elses words.

The Democrats have disgusted me and every day further they show they are slime and will do anything. FRANK HAS REALLY SHOWN HIMSELF WELL TOO. Oh those empty cries of the other ones doing what they themselves are doing.

Obama stood on the senate floor and Fought Jill Staneck who tried to stop partial birth abortion.
Roe was never meant to be a birth control. How did we get here?
    Here’s the backdrop….

BornAliveTruth.org is a 527 political issues advocacy group formed to educate the public about Barack Obama’s radical opposition as IL state senator to the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. I am the executive director.

Three weeks ago http://www.BornAliveTruth.org unveiled its Gianna ad, featuring abortion survivor Gianna Jesson. You can view the ad at BornAliveTruth.org.

For months if not years Obama has tried to avoid discussion of his Born Alive opposition but was finally drawn out by the Gianna ad. He began airing his own deceptive ad, viewable here, where I also dissect his accusations.

Please donate to http://www.BornAliveTruth.org and help us continue to educate more of the American public about aspects of abortion of which hardly anyone is aware as well as Barack Obama’s radical position against abortion survivors.
    So far $100,000 raised! Thanks!

I know that people have switched from being an Obama supporter to McCain when they found out how Obama fought to keep the born alive bill.

    Homeownership Resurgence Plan

Homeownership Resurgence Plan America’s families are bearing a heavy burden from falling housing prices, mortgage delinquencies, foreclosures, and a weak economy. It is important that those families who have worked hard enough to finance homeownership not have that dream crushed under the weight of the wrong mortgage.

    Read the plan

    The McCain Homeownership Resurgence Plan

    * Help struggling Americans, stabilize the housing finance market and put a foundation under our financial system.
    * Target the root cause of the financial crisis: mortgages that are “under water” because of falling house prices.
    * Improve the use of taxpayer money by reducing the need to spend taxpayer money to purchase toxic assets from Wall Street.

I disagree with those who think that his citizenship does not matter.

Why should he not prove his citizenship before running for President? He may have been a natural- born citizen, but if he gave it up for the most part of his life when he went traipsing all over the world as a non-US citizen, then he does not even have a shallowly rooted loyalty to this country. His actions throughout his life has demonstrated how much he prefers to be accepted and embraced by questionable and often dangerous characters. How in the world can anyone believe that this is a peace loving man? His radical political associates have dreams of enforcing change overnight at any cost necessary. We already have one of the most difficult and costly war to deal with, we don’t need another so called “change”-monger to have such absolute power over our military forces. BO, through his actions is not a patient nor empathetic man. All his life, he has demonstrated radical tendencies while fighting for his beliefs, regardless of the consequences. His dreams of change can only happen in Hollywood. In real life, his dreams of change will bring doomsday to this nation.

Conspiracy theory or not, I recall a wise man once telling me that the war in this century is not won on the battleground. It is won when you can paralyze the economy of a country and bring it to its knees. I did not believe him then, but as I watch the events unfold this election, I cannot help but believe that BO is being backed up Islamic radical forces that want to finish what Bin Laden started. Otherwise, how can we explain what is happening with the media, DNC, FEC, the judical system, etc?

The townhall debate was a farce. Having the debate questions being pre-screened by Brokaw is only part of it. Did anyone notice how Obama can’t play by the rules? or should I say he can’t win by the rules. The “townhall” meeting was just a microcosm of how this whole electoral cycle is being rigged. In the townhall debate last night Obama gets to respond after already having used up his turn. Obama also went over his time limit several times without a word from Brokaw. When Brokaw did say something about time, he made it look like both candidates had a problem sticking with the time allotted. Brokaw bent the rules to let Obama speak out of turn and run overtime. Of course Brokaw just happens to work for NBC (and Gwen Ifill just happens to have a book praising Obama). Just coincidence. This debate was just like how the DNC changed the rules so Obama could win the Democratic primary. No rules exist either for ACORN who are working ferverishly to create fraudulant votes for Obama. No rules existed for Obama as Illinois state senator, because he has his sponsors in the Chicago political machine e.g. Emil Jones and his ilk. Has there been any phase of Obama’s life where he didn’t have help from some scumbag or another :?: Obama is the original affirmative action president, because because the game is always rigged for him. If he wins, I feel sorry for black people, because they will know (even if no one will admit it), that he didn’t win because of his outstanding qualities, but because the fix was in. When he (if he gets elected) screws things up royally and he will, their cause will be set back another couple of decades.

  • Maverick

Did Obama look like he was strutting on stage and being over confident? He was acting like he had it in the bag. Like the fix was in? What’s with his eys sparkling? Did he have a new set of contacts?

So Obama finally admits to still smoking cigs?

I’m still waiting for him to admit that he smokes a few rocks every now and then.

“A couple of times”?? Well, we all know how Obama loves to lie, so a couple of times means once an hour. I swear, during his last debate with Hillary, he looked like he couldn’t wait to run out of there to light up. I call it the Smoker’s Look.

lol @ at the people that this clown is healthier than McCain.

Well, as usual, Obamabots twist the truth… Alan Cranston was the only one of the five to receive a formal reprimand.

After a lengthy investigation, the Senate Ethics Committee determined in 1991 that Alan Cranston, Dennis DeConcini, and Donald Riegle had substantially and improperly interfered with the FHLBB in its investigation of Lincoln Savings, with Cranston receiving a formal reprimand. Senators John Glenn and John McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised “poor judgment”.

McCain is also the only Republican of the five…

  • No Obamislamists

He answered one question that he would work on Social Security during his “first term”. He hasn’t even been elected yet, now he’s delegating what he’ll push back to his second term.

    What a self-centered arrogant wanker.

  • AnninCA

I was annoyed by Obama because he couldn’t shut up. Yes. I agree.

I thought the format was mischaracterizsed. It was really a formal debate, but they didn’t stay behind the podium. It didn’t remotely resemble a “townhall.”

I disliked Brokaw’s handling. He didn’t handle the candidates about their timing, and he should have foregone his own follow-up questions.

I thought the format was bad for McCain. So today’s upshot that it was a tie, essentially, meaning Obama won, in a political sense, means…..

    No harm, no foul.

    John did fine.

Obama bugged ME, but I can’t stand his style. That’s just a personal deal. I just hate stumbling talkers. I think it’s my own impatience and mistrust. If you can’t just talk, what’s the deal?

    Such as?

I think I’ve got Obama down. He’s just someone who used the AA traditional paths, wore a good suit, talked without the usual AA dialect, and impressed people.

    That’s about it.

He’s impressed so many because he can talk and chew gum at the same time. That’s the truth.

He has no original thinking skills, he’s an “analystical.” He really is a Jimmy Carter with a tan.

    And I’ll step out further.

I think this Jimmy Carter candidate actually reflects the reality of the Democratic Party right now.

Even if we elect him, I guarantee you…..it’s no mandate.

It’s simply a “vote the other guy out” vote.

His entire campaign of hope and change? Collapsed.

It pains me to have to educate 0bamabutts, but since 0bama is campaigning with John Glenn:

Glenn first won election to the Senate in 1974. He ran a brief campaign for president in 1984.

Glenn was later named one of the “Keating Five” for accepting a $200,000 contribution from convicted savings and loan executive Charles H. Keating Jr., but a 1991 Senate commission declared that his only crime was “poor judgment.”

So much for the Keating Five bullshit.

Is he going to call leaders of other countries liars if they do not agree with his positions as a POTUS?

Not to mention that all of his failures will be blamed on white racism. Ironic isn’t it, that “racism” argument actually punishes the stated victim by maintaining that the destiny of the victim’s people is not their’s to shape, but rather a white man’s to choose for them?

On Wednesday morning, John McCain’s campaign released a list of 100 former ambassadors endorsing the GOP presidential nominee.

Second on the list, though her name is misspelled, is Leonore Annenberg, currently the president and chairman of the Annenberg Foundation and widow of ambassador and philanthropist Walter Annenberg. Ms. Annenberg was herself the “chief of protocol” at the State Department under President Reagan.

If the last name sounds familiar, it’s because it also graces the name of the Chicago education board where Barack Obama and William Ayers sat in the room six times together.

The McCain Resurgence Plan would purchase mortgages directly from homeowners and mortgage servicers, and replace them with manageable, fixed-rate mortgages that will keep families in their homes.

OK, I understand the part about purchasing mortgages directly from mortgage servicers. That’s like buying an IOU you might collect money from. Presumably the mortgage servicer would sell at a loss to get out from under the bad debt. But what do they mean by purchasing mortgages directly from homeowners?

  • http://firefox McAnnie Carmel Baracuda

When I heard Jill Staneck’s story, it solidified my opposition to Barry. It is a barbaric practice. I had no idea late term abortions were even being performed without a medical emergency involved (such as the death of the fetus, etc). If it is an issue solely of the mother’s life in jeopardy then why not an induced delivery or other intervention?

I began reconsidering my pro-choice position as a result of this story. I would like women to have access to abortion in cases of incest, rape, etc. Even then, if we had more access to counseling and other means of support, would some of these women choose birth and adoption? It’s a sketchy support system at best. I certainly would like to see abortion become more of a stigma if it’s a case of irresponsible people being negligent in using birth control. However, I have known women who have had abortions and it is an extremely sad to feel there’s no other choice. Both women had children already, felt that they couldn’t support another one, and their birth control failed. Even the pill is not 100%. What a hard decision.

Live birth abortion though is just another example of the crude, insensitive clod we have running for POTUS.

State Sen. Barack Obama (D-Chicago) called to gripe about Tuesday’s Inc. (Hey, join the club.) His beef was that we questioned his decision to stay on vacation in Hawaii instead of returning to Springfield to vote for a tough gun control measure.

Obama insists that he and his wife, Michelle, stayed in Hawaii not to sip mai tais on the beach but because their 18-month-old daughter, Malia, was sick. He decided not to fly home alone, which would have meant leaving his wife back in Hawaii to care for the sick child.

“We have a lot of politicians who like to talk about family values. At some point you have to live those families values,” he told Inc.

We repeat: His opponents in his race for Congress will use this against him.

    By the way

Obama says the night before the next time the gun bill is up, he’ll be sleeping under his desk in Springfield to make sure he doesn’t miss the vote.

    JEFF JACOBY
    Obama’s 180 on genocide

By Jeff Jacoby, Globe Columnist | October 8, 2008

JOHN MCCAIN’S opening words last night were: “Senator Obama, it’s good to be with you at a town hall meeting!” Indeed it was. We now know why Barack Obama declined McCain’s invitation earlier this year to appear together in a series of 10 town hall meetings around the country. This is the format in which McCain excels, and he excelled last night. He was substantive, sympathetic, strong – sure of himself, his facts, and his convictions. On issue after issue, McCain sounded clear and mature. In a word, presidential.

Though most of the debate dealt with domestic issues, it was a foreign-policy question that sent me flying to my files. Moderator Tom Brokaw asked the candidates what their “doctrine” would be “in situations where there’s a humanitarian crisis, but it does not affect our national security,” such as “the Congo, where 4.5 million people have died since 1998,” or Rwanda or Somalia.

In such cases, answered Obama, “we have moral issues at stake.” Of course the United States must act to stop genocide, he said. “When genocide is happening, when ethnic cleansing is happening . . . and we stand idly by, that diminishes us.”

But that wasn’t how Obama sounded last year, when he was competing for the Democratic nomination and was unbending in his demand for an American retreat from Iraq. Back then, he dismissed fears that a US withdrawal would unleash a massive Iraqi bloodbath. “Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursday the United States cannot use its military to solve humanitarian problems and that preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn’t a good enough reason to keep US forces there,” the AP reported on July 20, 2007 (my italics).

What kind of candidate is it whose moral response to genocide – genocide – can reverse itself 180 degrees in a matter of months? Is that the kind of candidate who ought to be the leader of the free world?

Jeff Jacoby can be reached at jacoby@globe.com.

We have to be proud of our politicians, specially of Obama and Biden. They are so good at lying and misrepresentation.

Fine, it looks like the American people like that in their politicians.

But now that the truth about how much Americans lie to each other, specially in the financial markets, in the political arena and how much of this lying is acceptable and necessary for political correctness and for prodding up the poor and those who would never educate themselves; foreigners, specially investors and politicians will never trust us in their lifetimes again.

    Nicolas Sarkozy:

“We want a new world to come out of this,” Sarkozy said. “We want to set up the basis for a capitalism of entrepreneurs, not speculators.”

Interesting, no? A capitalism of entrepreneurs.

Lets see how Obama sees it. Tax and overtax anybody and everybody that makes over 250 K. And lets have more people risk their hard earned money in order to make over 250 K and then pay 40 percent plus 15 percent SS in taxes, pay user fees, and keep 40 percent for personal use. Yeah lets have more people do that. Right?

What the constitutional law professor taught:

CONSTITUTIONAL LAW III: EQUAL PROTECTION AND SUBSTANTIVE DUE PROCESS. 403. This course considers the history, theory, and contemporary law of the post-Civil War Amendments to the Constitution, particularly the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment. The central subjects are: the constitutional law governing discrimination on the basis of race, gender, and other characteristics; the recognition of individual rights not explicitly enumerated in the Constitution; and the constitutional distinction between state and private action.

What are individual rights “not explicitly enumerated in the Constitution” anyway?

I think they mean, I don’t know, they purchase the gap between the existing mortgage debt and the current market price (value) of the home.

So by purchasing the gap they spread the money to a larger pool.

That helps the mortgagee but it does not changes the market forces per se. Home prices would remain above true market forces. In other words, he wants to promote a little bubble – a smaller bubble.

But it slushes the financial markets with liquidity. And that’s what they want.

Democrats are happy, they give money away and Republicans are happy, they give money to the financiers. Everybody is happy.

Except those who need a house and still prices of homes are overestimated.

I hate having to give history lessons to dumb people but here goes:

On September 10, 1990, Bennett submitted a confidential report, which soon leaked, that recommended that the committee continue its investigation of Cranston, DeConcini, and Riegle, but take no action against Glenn and McCain,[26] as there was insufficient evidence to pursue the latter two.

The Ethics Committee ruled that the involvement of McCain in the scheme was also minimal, and he too was cleared of all charges against him. McCain was criticized by the Committee for exercising “poor judgment” when he met with the federal regulators on Keating’s behalf. The report also said that McCain’s “actions were not improper nor attended with gross negligence and did not reach the level of requiring institutional action against him….Senator McCain has violated no law of the United States or specific Rule of the United States Senate.”

Robert Bennet: “First, I should tell your listeners I’m a registered Democrat, so I’m not on (McCain’s) side of a lot of issues. But I investigated John McCain for a year and a half, at least, when I was special counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee in the Keating Five. … And if there is one thing I am absolutely confident of, it is John McCain is an honest man. I recommended to the Senate Ethics Committee that he be cut out of the case, that there was no evidence against him.”

But they blocked it because, even though there was no evidence against him, he was the LONE Republican!

I know your too stupid for this to make a difference but at least you can’t say no one told you (the truth and how dumb you are).

Near as I can tell as an outside observer, the stock market has little to do with actually putting money into innovation. It’s more like a speculative market in baseball cards, where the desire of speculators to hold particular popular items creates most of the apparent value.

How else to explain a DOW that’s dropped from the 13000s to the 9000s? Are the factories gone? The retail stores? The restaurants, hotels, movie theaters, etc? All of the means of providing goods and services that relate to real value are exactly as they were before.

I think there was a stock market bubble, just like there was a bubble in the housing market. It all has more to do with the psychology of speculation than real worth.

His plan is to use the money ALREADY ALLOCATED from the first to bailouts (300b and 700b) to buy down mortgages that are valued higher than the properties.

This means eligible people (not just losers who won’t pay) can have their mortgage adjusted to match today’s value of their home, instead of having mortgages for more than they are worth.

It keeps the homeowners in the homes, keeps foreclosed homes off the market reducing that inventory, and the homeowner still pays the bulk of the loan with a renegotiated 30 year fixed rate mortgage.

Helping people help themselves. I don’t much like it, but the economy won’t recover until this credit mess is worked out.

In 1969 Hayden’s students for democracy group began imploding into factions. One of them, a group calling itself Weatherman, was elected to SDS leadership and proclaimed that the time had come to launch a race war on behalf of the Third World and against the United States. The Weatherman declared “war on AmeriKKKa” at its Flint War Council in 1969.

The new entity dissolved Hayden’s Students for a Democratic Society and formed a terrorist cult in its place, which was given the name Weather Underground.
How odd that way back in the beginning of Barack Obama’s speaking career the group he was involved with had links to Marxists, the Weatherman and Bill Ayers.
It was not surprising then that after his first public speech at Occidental College Barack Obama found himself working several years with William Ayers, the founder of the terrorist cult Weather Underground, in Chicago.

I saw Mr. Murtaugh on Hannity & Colmes several months ago. It was the first time that the Weathermen and Black Panthers really hit home for me.

Like Murtaugh, my Dad was a Judge. When I was around 8 (1970), Dad was slated to possibly try H. Rap Brown. There were apparently threats on the lives of everyone involved and we had a State Trooper in the driveway every night and our phones were tapped.

Luckily, nothing happened to us and Brown was extradited to New York for trial on other charges so my Dad did not have to hear his case. My parents were great about the whole thing so I didn’t realize the seriousness and after it was over, I pretty much forgot about it.

But seeing Murtaugh tell his story brought the reality of what could have happened home. Anyone who thinks being friendly with a known terrorist (former terrorist is just BS) who had no qualms about killing people — children — to get his point across is ok is, simply, a fool.

Adjustable rate mortages are tied to the LIBOR rate. (The rate banks lend to each other. That rate is UP and will go higher. When these ARMs adjust, these homeowners are going to be hit with one hell of a shock! More people will go under, more people will default. More foreclosures. For the rest of us- more turmoil in the financial markets. McCain plan would allow this LIBOR based ARMs to re-finance to FHA-fixed if 1.) primary residency and 2.)credit worthy. It’s similar to Hillary’s plan, which we all know was the BEST plan out there.

Sorry, we used to have defined rights but the Supreme Courts over the last 60 years have legislated from the Bench rather than sticking to the Constitution.

We all start out at the same place and have an equal right to work toward goals. We do not have a right for things to be given to us because we are too lazy or greedy or selfish to do it for ourselves.

The medical emergency, rape/incest etc is constantly used to defend abortion, & i think it is a reasonable defense that few would argue with. That is a choice issue, & from a legal standpoint, neither secular law nor Biblical teachings faults a person for killing to preserve their own life.

The darker side of this is that those imo, valid arguments are used as an excuse by men & women alike for irresponsible behavior. People do not wish to own their actions. Its quite simple: if you don’t want children, then don’t have sex. That is how i was raised, & that is what i still believe. But not surprisingly, personal responsibility in this part of life as any other. Public education & the entertainment industry would have every one believe that they have no power to control their own sexual behavior. Irresponsible sexual activity is just as necessary as eating & breathing, & teenagers can’t help but get pregnant etc etc. Thats why we need federally funded, secret abortions.

I have concluded it is useless to try & use law or force to prevent abortion. But without some sort of intervention, how do we change a value system that places personal pleasure over respect for life, & ultimately, respect for oneself? How do you get expecting mothers & fathers to choose life?

I don’t know the answer, but i know its not being found in the classroom, or in Hollywood, or… the planned parenthood office. :-(

She is the wife of the founder of the Annenberg Institute of Reform which funded the Annenberg challenge. Go figure sitting on the board was Obama and Ayers. Oops! This is a lesson in silliness. So now I guess McCain pals around with terrorists too? “Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids”. This is just the begging of the vetting process of the “list”. The rape/incest exception is hypocritical. The anti-abortion people who carve out that exception are playing god. Who gave them the power to determine those “babies” should be “murdered?” (I am using their rationale calling abortion “murder.”) The anti-abortion people who carve out that exception should at least be consistent. Come to think of it, the “life of the mother” exception is also playing god. Why should those “babies” be “murdered?”

Best to leave these decisions to families in consult with their health practitioners and for Christ’s sake don’t fight age appropriate sex education and contraception.

Thanks for sharing your story. For the life of me, I can’t understand how the Democratic Party supported Obama from the beginning. They must have been aware of his past relationships; I was. I’m now a registered Independent after 30 year of being a Democrat.

    - Exactly. He probably never quit.

First he said he quit smoking cigs, now he says that he smokes a couple, – what’s next??

Before Donald Young was conveniently murdered last Christmas, he told Sinclair that Obama and Wright were possibly planning on making a public statement about Obama using drugs as recent as 99, eventhough Obama said he quit a long time ago.

This is not an abortion issue. It is an issue of a man whose extremism both went against the entire US Senate and which led him to be the ONLY ONE of his Illinois State Senator colleagues to speak out against the bill.

Please help to ensure that voters throughout the United States learn more about the dangerous, conscienceless radical that is Barack Obama.

Roe vs Wade deals with protecting a woman’s rights over her body-her uterus, her womb.

BAIPA deals with protecting the life of a baby once it is OUTSIDE OF THE WOMAN’S Body.

Once the baby is born, ALL HANDS OFF THIS BABY.
It is an individual that has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Sen Obama fought very hard against allowing the baby to live once it was born alive. he wanted the babies TO BE LEFT TO DIE OR TO
    B E K I L L E D

That is what this is all about.

In my eyes this is horrific and one step away from Eugenics…

  • No way No Mccain

Yes, keep repeating ‘My friends” as if that will help him get some. McCain is angry, desperate and losing the election because even he does not believe the garbage he is spewing. The McSame/ Falin ticket has no idea about middle class Americans and thus they have no ideas what to do to help. So now it smear time. Same old tactics in a tired old candidate. It really is sad to see him dropping like a rock in the polls and pacing around like an angry man. Pathetic. McCain either need to return to the true person he is, or lose. The writing is on the wall. The dems are going to win the white house, the senate and the house. McCain will fade into the black hole where he has been for the last 30 years. Saying he is a maverick and a reformer is a joke. His record shows he is all about party and self. Country first? No, winning at all costs is the rethugs idea of country first.

  • Tuppence 411

I don’t think it’s how you described, but we will have to learn more. I think if you have say 25 years left o a 300K mortgage LIBOR based ARM ( sky-rocketing monthly payments), you could refinance the remaining principal at a FHA fixed rate over 30 years(reduced payments and stay in your home).

What a horrible irony for the Republicans—and after they’ve been so nice! :)

They spent most of the last eight years dismantling the Constitution and trying to turn America into a one-party state.

Now the Democrats have completely turned the tables on them. We will have a one-party state, but it will be a Democratic state. There won’t be a Republican President for the next 50+ years.

You still don’t get it. NO ONE CARES! Obama is winning because people care about the issues not the smears. The more the GOP attacks Obama the more people are turning towards the dems. People have had enough of this garbage. Rezko, Ayers and all the other garbage don’t matter. People care if they are going to keep their homes. The GOP think they can scare people with their “who is this boogey man”. Someday you will look back and realize that smears don’t work. They turn people off. Palin thinks she can incite a riot with, kill him, treason, traitor. Then pretend she did not know people were going to get upset? Really? I am sure she has a bridge she can sell you too and you people buy it hook line and sinker. LOL. Too funny!

Just look at the polls and trends to see how well the GOP strategy is working. Is is not and Obama will be the next President because you ignorant fools think personal smears are the way to go.

Let’s hope for a new dialog to bring a new view on abortion rather than the rabid extremes on either end. I agree with you about the cultural excess and lack of responsibility. It really is sickening that “Girls Gone Wild” is thought by some to be funny. My son and grandsons have been given the word that I want to know future generations of our family and that there’s no excuse for any lack of responsibility.

If Sarah becomes our VP, she is bound to be a new role model for women…whether she ever talks about abortion or not. I think that simply doing a great job and allowing her personal history to speak for her would do wonders. Thanks for your well thought out response.

  • Goblintrain

Eden, these rumors are not new, i first heard those same back in 2000 when he was running against Bush. The only places i’ve ever seen them take any legs at all is on conspiracy talk radio shows, both right & left. If you look hard enough, bribe, coerce, or exploit enough people, you can always find some dirt on even the best people. As for the merit of these rumors, i think the answer is in the character of Senator McCain himself. His own life discredits them more soundly than any eye-witness ever could, in my opinion.

  • sayitisntso

Your analysis is useless. Character is what keeps a candidate going. You’d be tired too. A little humanity, please.

Yipee! These thugs need to go back and nurse their wounds. They are losing and they deserve it. Gives me a great skip in my step today. I agree, the dems have turned the table on the thugs who have ripped our country and constitution apart. Palin wants more powers for the VP? I shudder to think what that would mean for the country. Thank goodness people finally saw through this fraud and bimbo. They deserve what they get. Hopefully when she returns to Alaska after all of her lying, they will recall her for the embarresment she made of their state and this country,

There’s no doubt in my mind that killing or allowing those babies to die is murder. That’s when it becomes an issue for me. Murder is when the state gets involved. I don’t know how a physician could justify this.

I certainly wouldn’t call birth control or the morning after pill or 1st trimester abortion murder. Guess we all have our limits. And, yes I agree this is between the family and doctor.

    Camden,

The banks have LONG been blackmailed by the government to accept bad loans. The government is the problem. It is possible that McCain was trying to even up sides in the fight. • Scout

    I disagree.

Healthcare is not a right, it’s a societal, and personal, responsibility. We hope that individuals will take responsibility for their health, and exercise, eat well, avoid drugs, take their meds, and follow their doctors’ advice. And we want society to support good quality medical care facilities and training for doctors and nurses. It’s an interactive responsibility, but not a right.

Our rights are considered inalienable, part of our human condition; government recognizes our rights, but does not convey them, or take them away (except in cases of criminal conviction).

  • Astra14

Another step closer to Eugenics is Obama’s followers saying Sarah Palin should have aborted her baby when she learned it had Downs Syndrome…

I’m pro-choice, but if a baby is born alive it should be protected and given a chance. Adoption is still very much an option at that point. That’s my opinion.

Lets say a family buys a home on a low interest 30 year loan with a after five year balloon payment for nine hundred thousand in 2003,
2008 comes and Now there home is valued at five hundered thousand and there balloon payment is coming up. they cant refinance because there upside down.
Now were going to pay the four hundred thousand difference so they can refinance at say 5%.

    Galt,
so your position would be legal abortions through all stages of a pregnancy? Third trimester? 8th month? 9th month? in the middle of live delivery? As pro-choice when does the fetus stop becoming a fetus and is a child? Earliest live birth of a healthy child was 23 weeks (5 and a half months).

“The rape/incest exception is hypocritical. The anti-abortion people who carve out that exception are playing god. Who gave them the power to determine those “babies” should be “murdered?”

That statement is not true. We are dealing with establishing law and although I might personally not want abortion under some of these circumstances nothing in these situations are perfect. I hate that innocent people are killed as part of collateral damage in war but I understand that at times it is unavoidable.

  • tommyo77

    Galt
I know you didn’t state a position and I don’t mean to be attacking on this, but my point is this whole calling the other side hypocritical when their position doesn’t hold to it’s logical end is not constructive.

It is like when I watched a debate from 1992 and Al Gore waxed eloquent about how a woman’s body is her body and she can make the decision what to do with it and then proceeded to state his position in line with the Roe v. Wade decision supporting abortion in the first 2 trimesters. Does the woman’s body stop being her body at the 6 month mark? and why?

If we hold the two positions: 1) all abortion is murder and 2) it is a woman’s choice without government intervention we are left with only 2 difficult choices. If I am forced between supporting the termination of children as long as they are still connected with an umbilical cord or prohibiting all abortions, I will choose banning abortions. But my hope is we can come to a reasonable public policy that moves beyond the extremist rancor. I am 100% pro-life but if there was a policy providing for abortion in the first 3 months that made it illegal (doctor charged with murder) after that and then was supported by funding for adoption and support of mothers (especially unwed) I would vote for it.

In fact now that you’ve turned to join Obama you better go and look just what is happening to downticket Democrats in the polls. It’s not looking good for them with the approval rating. Obama will be a one term president the same as Carter and he’ll mess it up so bad there won’t be another Democrat president for 100 years if ever. Thank you Perry for stabbing Hillary in the back when she wasn’t looking. And don’t give me no crap about too much support for McCain and Republicans on this site. That’s an old troll talking point and his been refuted here already.

Education Does Not Make a Leader

A recent e-mail making the rounds suggests that Barack Obama’s superior education and intelligence mandates his choice as president over John McCain.

There are many things wrongs with using a single category as a decisional tool for a job so complicated as the presidency. Surely one’s experience, character, judgment displayed in the past, leadership qualities, legislative accomplishment, patriotism, etc., should be considered.

Paper accomplishment has its limits. After all, Ted Kaczynski attended Harvard and earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from Michigan – but he was a destructive individual. Bill Gates, famous as an innovator and now a humanitarian, was in college only briefly. And many of us have had college professors who we would not entrust with picking up our newspaper from the driveway while we were away on vacation.

Wouldn’t even be a consideration if the Dems in Congress hadn’t blocked the legislation that would have fixed it. Fannie and Freddie were the Dems money machines that they protected and now the roof fell in on all Americans that dwarfs anything Keating did. Obama was 100% in favor of it.

It is a pity that your information could be Constitutionaly protected. Obama’s and Ayer’s cozy relationship is a fact that we already know, and you people fall “back ass” flatly denying it. Anyway, if this should go to Court, your confidence might be inadmissible by reason of witness mental retardation

Without it, there are no values other than the State.
    Just what Obama wants.
A pertinent comment by Obama last night and also referred to by Mac was the “fining” of parents who didn’t get health care for their kids. Since it is obvious that the primary reason for not providing health care for your own kid would only be that you had no money to do it, a “fine” is actually the means for the State to seize your children from you because you have “neglected” them. Now that the state has your kids, they will learn to sing Obama is our savior songs and the game is done. I do not expect our Republic to survive a Barrack Obama presidency.
Remember that every “Crank” who ever warns about something that eventually happens becomes a genius the moment it does. In this case, the cranks will be the first to go.
Obama is following the communist overthrow playbook by the letters.

WRONG! It was a DEMOCRAT special prosecutor and even he said McCain didn’t belong in those hearings to begin with. Oh and by the way Bennett is a Democrat, he’s the one that defended Clinton in his hearings. You can look it up.

Robert Bennett on John McCain and Keating Five: ‘Pure Politics’

Democratic Counsel Robert Bennett on John McCain and Keating Five: ‘Pure Politics’

“After reviewing my report, the committee voted on October 23, 1990, to hold a public adjudicatory fact-finding hearing in the matter as to all five senators. This was perhaps the first time the recommendation of a special counsel not to charge a senator was rejected. This was pure politics as the Democrats on the committee did not want to cut McCain loose so that only Democrats would remain in the proceedings. If Senator McCain was not going to be cut loose, in retaliation the Republicans were going to keep Senator Glenn in the proceedings. McCain was the victim of politics, and poor Glenn was held captive to the decision on McCain. So much for nonpartisanship.” — Democratic Keating Investigation Counsel Robert Bennett

    http://tinyurl.com/create.php

The Senate Ethics Committee probe of the Keating Five began in November 1990, and committee Special Counsel Robert Bennett recommended that McCain and Glenn be dropped from the investigation. They were not. McCain believes Democrats on the committee blocked Bennett’s recommendation because he was the lone Keating Five Republican.

In February 1991, the Senate Ethics Committee found McCain and Glenn to be the least blameworthy of the five senators. (McCain and Glenn attended the meetings but did nothing else to influence the regulators.) McCain was guilty of nothing more than “poor judgment,” the committee said, and declared his actions were not “improper nor attended with gross negligence.” McCain considered the committee’s judgment to be “full exoneration,” and he contributed $112,000 (the amount raised for him by Keating) to the U.S. Treasury.

Good one. By the way if Mr. Arrogance Personified is still smoking shouldn’t we be worried who the VP pick is? He’s a heartbeat away after all. Let’s see, Pres. candidate: smoker, parents died young (mother from cancer), an AA (not really but he says so) who have more susceptibility to the diseases of the heart, not a very healthy past by his own admission, not a very good resume but we don’t know hsi real medical condition because he hasn’t released his files, only a note from the doctor. VP candidate: History of brain aneurysm, 65 years old, possibly not in very good physical shape. Shouldn’t we be just a little concerned here? Who the heck wants Biden as Pres. anyway. Nice guy but not very quick in the smarts department or in controlling his mouth and what about his telling those “little white lies” every other day? Trustworthy isn’t he.

I am a proud Obama supporter and thank god most of the country has had it with the loser rethugs. They are going down in flames! Of course you people have no where to go but the typical rethug five year old name calling. • http://msnGodhelpusall Lee M

Athy, thank you for this link. I spent over three hours reading it and related links to the same article. This is scary as h—. No wonder the MSM has been deaf, blind and dumb to anything we have sent them about Obama. How in the world do we fight something as powerful as this? And in the end does it all really come down to oil and the wealth of the world being controlled by this man and his cohorts?

This is as overwhelming as the fight of our ancestors – some only having pitchforks and shovels, along with the lowly shotgun to fight for their freedom from a powerful empire. This information must get out throughout the entire blogging network. People need to know what is behind this whole financial collapse. It was planned we are only pawns on the chessboard of some very rich and powerful people with no conscience.

No wonder an empty suit was chosen as their candidate. It is as I suspected all along, they wanted someone that they could control and manipulate completely.

We are in deep trouble. Pray for McCain and get out the vote. Even that might not do the trick. This is not something that was dreamed up overnight.

You should really do your homework before you ooze your way out of the swamp. Lenore Annenberg is pretty much a figurehead these days at the Foundation. She is 90 years old. Wallis, Walter’s daughter by his first marriage, is the VP of the Foundation and carries the majority of the responsibility, as evidenced by her numerous appearances for the foundation. Lenore makes very, very few appearances these days. Wallis made a $25,000 contribution last year to the Democratic Congressional Campaign. The other 3 Annenbergs that are trustees are all involved in the arts. One lives in Paris, another spent 10 years in London but now lives in California as does the other and Wallis.

I noticed last night Obama stealing McCain’s line of American workers being the best, then he was out this morning repeating how McCain claimed the fundamentals of the economy are strong, even though McCain clarified that as being the American worker.

  • http://chriss chris

Yeah wealth redistribution really inspires people to work hard. Knowing you have to give up more earnings over a certain amount to extreme taxation, sure will stimulate hard work, investment and new businesses being created. Yeah let’s do that after the Bush tax cuts run out so taxes go up anyways and then on top, lets tax those over 250,000. Fun wow.

  • Kristen

You are so right! MURDER!!! I was a NICU nurse for many years and am now an OB nurse. I have the honor of being at births everyday I work. And this sickens me to the core. I’ve seen the smallest babies fight for life. It has moved me more than I can ever describe. And the thought of any baby alive being put into a bag left to die is disgusting. And I’ve read Obama’s rationale on it- like I said… sickening to the core.

  • Diana

May God have mercy on our souls. How could we not know this was being done to infants that were surviving their late term abortions. I can understand wanting to fight for the right to have an abortion. But, these doctors and nurses crossed the line when no one spoke out, except one woman that some were surviving. Then being left to die in horrible ways…and how long was it going on before anyone stood up to say anything?

Infanticide right here going on right under our faces in this country. I have a different view on this than most Christians. I do not believe two souls can live in one body. I believe an infant receives their soul with the breath of life. These infants were breathing and alive. Viable human lives.

Obama wants me to think he’s a humanitarian when he held this up for over 2 years in committe then voted against it when it finally came up in senate. As he said, “Infants who survive their abortion are not afforded the same constitution rights as the rest of us.” I think Obama answered Rick’s question in 2001 as a Senator it was not above his pay grade.

Obama opposed BAIPA again in 2002 and, a third time, in 2003, as a committee chair, prevented the bill from a vote by the full Illinois Senate. However, after Obama left the Illinois Senate, BAIPA passed unanimously, 52-0.

  • Dee

And if you got your head out of Obama’s butt and listened to the news or read once in a while, you would have heard that the prosecuting attorney in that case (A Democrat by the way) went to the Senate Ethics Committee and told them that he did not want to prosecute McCain because he was innocent of all charges. Bennett was told by the Senate Ethics Committee that since there were 4 Democratic Senators involved, they needed to leave the one Republican in so it didn’t look so bad. To this day, Bennett states that McCain was and is a man of honor.

  • jvsp

If it is so certain that Obama is going to win, why do you waste your time here? Me thinks your actions belie your claims. Btw, for what it’s worth, your entire comment amounts to “McCain bad and you bad”.

He was supposed to win IN, SD and other primaries. Hillary won all of these primaries and others many by wide margins in spite of the MSM. The MSM use polls to sway public opinion and depress votes for the candidate opposite Obama.

  • tommyo77

That isnt my position, that isnt my quote.

I am not saying, in my opinion, that before my cut off date it isnt “murder”. But this isnt about my opinion it’s about public policy and if we are looking for policy that avoids hypocrisy it is either you can kill them until you cut the cord or all abortion is murder. You can’t just pick an arbitrary date and think it is not hypocrisy. Roe v. Wade is hypocritical, Al Gore’s position was hypocritical, if you are pro-choice unless you support the right of women to choose to abort fetus/children all the way until it’s last foot comes out of mom and the umbilical cord is cut your a hypocrite. Any policy will create hypocrites.

My point is stop pointing the finger at the other side unless you are willing to admit Roe v. Wade is hypocritical, Al Gore is hypocritical and every mainstream Dem/Liberal who supports abortion rights are hypocritical because none will go on the record to support full term, up to and during natural birth abortions.

  • POdVet

Obama is only leading in the polls when they are repeatedly oversampling those they KNOW will vote for Obama. It’s the same BS CBS did after the debate last night with their so called “undecideds” they were so pro Obama I think they were probably volunteers for the Obama campaign. I’d love to see you come back here on Nov 5th and talk about how great it was after Obama loses in the biggest landslide in history, and the Republicans have taken back the House and Senate because America is so sick of the BS the DNC has pushed off on their own party to favor the corrupt one. I only know 3 Obama “supporters” and I’m fairly certain one of them will be voting McCain when she gets in the booth. But she has to be an outward Obama supporter or go through hell with her fiance who is one of those blind Obamessiah followers.

This is the dumbest argument I have ever heard.

Here is a simple one, I have no intention of voting for Obama but I will if you can give me the name of one major party candidate for president who has had as little governing/legislative experience from the last 100 years.

Well you are showing your ignorance if you do. Zogby has the candidates seperated by 1.7 points in their poll. In 2004 at this point there was a poll with Kerry up by 14 points and in 2000 Al Gore up by 11 points. I think it is far from over.

By the way Zogby was the most accurate pollster in 2004 in both presidential and congressional and is on record as saying if the national poll is within the margin of error at the time of the election it will be a landslide for McCain.

    ARE you KIDDING ME
This is a murder, not a worngful death. If the baby was born and alive, and contiuned living, submerging her in clorox is by no means a murder.
I don’t know how the abortion restrictions and allowances are, but a good district Attorney could prosecute this criminally.
If I remember, scientifically a living breathing fetus is a Baby, therefore a human being, no matter how long she survives.
It is also reproaching because of the fact that in Fl., in order to reduce abortions you can give birth and have 7 or 15 days to just leave the baby in any government facility, and NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!

Given Michelle’s age, if Barry wants a male heir, it’ll have to come via surrogacy. Or will Michelle and Barry accept the possibility of Michelle’s giving birth to a Downs’ child? (The likelihood of a Downs’ birth increases with the expectant mother’s age.) And somehow, I don’t see Michelle accepting a “less-than-perfect” child coming from her body. Then again, I can’t imagine Michelle allowing another woman to be the “oven” for HER “bun”, and there’s NO WAY that she’d allow Barry to get a new wife.

His smoking is pretty irrelevant, the 57 states comment is relevant only because of this gotcha environment but ultimately not relevant.

Sorry but Wilson’s two years as governor of NJ trumps 1 1/2 years as a senator and 1 1/2 years running for president (president is an executive position people seem to forget), Hoover served 7 years as commerce secretary in addition was an executive with Bewick, Moering and Co. for seven years, seems like more experience to me, and please, you honestly think a 3 year senator (being generous)has more experience than Eisenhower as a brigadier general, commanding general of European theater of operations, Supreme commander of African forces, and then Supreme Allied Commander of Europe.

The bottom line is you cannot argue that Obama is as or more qualified for the presidency than these men. MAYBE Wilson but then all your saying is he is less qualified then any candidate in 90 years.

  • savage

wait what was your challenge? you people can sure move a goal post (ie hillary)!

“if you can give me the name of one major party candidate for president who has had as little governing/legislative experience from the last 100 years.”

you realize obama was a state senator from 1997–2004, right? oh, i’m sure that means nothing to you…go ahead….blow it off. he should just leave that and the 823 bills he sponsored in the state senate or the 130 he sponsored in the senate off his resume. the fucker just spent all his time in dark basements with terrorists planning attacks. pfffff.

how does eisenhower’s military experience translate to governing/legislative experience?

“you honestly think a 3 year senator (being generous)has more experience than Eisenhower as a brigadier general, commanding general of European theater of operations, Supreme commander of African forces, and then Supreme Allied Commander of Europe.”

experience in what? government operations? obama wins! war preperations? obama loses! basket weaving? who knows?!

and Hoover as commerce secretary? wtf? what bills did he pass as commerce secretary? how did he govern?

jesus you’re dense. any more challenges? go ahead, you can move the goal post fool.

    yes I have more questions:

racist statements (if whitey tape true) – where is the whitey tape? what did barack say on it?

anti-american attitude (america is a mean country) – barack said this when? do you really want to start talking about their wifes (hint, mccain had two, he ditched one (character people!) and one was a felonious druggie!)?

multi year associations with a known terrorist – you mean the person he met via Ronald Reagan and Walter Annenberg? They must like terrorists too.

unwilling to participate in the simplest of patriotic activities – because these simple patriotic activities make a patriot? well if that’s all it takes, color me red white and blue! why won’t john wear a flag pin if it is so easy? and, no, fox news made it an issue. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/anthem.asp

Obama’s cousin (because he expressed support for him and not a denunciation) – hey dude, did you know we are cousins? if I say it, it must be true! you would believe odinga over obama’s uncle….now that’s funny. but if the shoe fits right?!

The following is quoted from a 1997 NYTimes piece by Michael Lewis entitled ” The Subversive” a must read to understand how McCain gained the moniker of “Maverick”. The following paragraph is in reference to the Keating Five.

“The Senate Ethics Committee decided that McCain had done nothing seriously wrong. He was guilty only of “poor judgement”
“My honor and integrity were at stake in Vietnam when the Vietnamese offered me freedom. I was very tempted to take it. But when I didn’t, it was over–at least when the beatings stopped it was over. In the Keating scandal, my honor and integrity were at stake again: I was accused of betraying my oath of office. I’ve never been able to explain very clearly how I felt. How painful it was. And, by the way, I did wrong. I shouldn’t have attended that meeting. But I don’t think I”ll ever be absolved. I’ll always be known as one of the Keating Five.”….END

John McCain is a man who’s more than once been to the edge and come back. He’s learned from these experiences and doesn’t take his service to this country lightly.
This whole Keating Five thing reminds me of the same treatment that Hillary received over “Whitewater”. Ken Starr spent 25 million dollars on the investigation and couldn’t turn up enough evidence to prove either of the Clinton of guilt and yet just by being implicated and seeing it in the news for so long people would assume that she was guilty of some crime. I would love to see the Barack Obama/Tony Rezko affliation investigated.

What this says is that Lenore Annenberg KNOWS
Obama and therefore she supports McCain.
    Simple as that.

Trolls will continue to spew their hatred of anyone who does not conform and vote Obama. We are racists, if we have a differing opinion, lame.
I would much rather hear the term “my friends” then listen to another ahh, umm, uhh again, is that all you’ve got?
The fact is Obama needs his paid Obamabots because he knows full well the people who are going to vote are the ones who wont be voting for him. The responsible voter will be voting McCain. There are still those of us out here who will vote to protect our country from the likes of Obama, we will never put our country in the hands of one who will destroy her.
Our constitution has taken some big hits lately, and I will not lose another of my rights, and that is exactly what will happen if Obama is elected.
He already wants those who speak out against him, jailed. He now wants to take our right to bear arms away, one by one we will lose our rights as Americans.
    That scares me to death.
This lifelong Dem is voting republican this year, my party left me no other choice. I will protect my country by voting for a man with morals and character, two things Obama lacks.
I will vote for a true patriot who loves this country and who will protect our constitutional rights.
    Country before party.

Obama never met a bill he didn’t take credit for, even those written by other members of the senate that Obama put his name onto. It doesnt make it his bill, it just makes it obvious that Obama doesnt know how to write a bill of his own, or he would have done it by now right?
I think there is one bill out there he actually written, and by the way Obama has less than 200 actual days in the senate, he wasn’t voting, he was just saying present and nothing more.
Really, do you have a job, or is this it? I wonder about you and the other paid bloggers for Obama, do you ever speak the truth or are you paid to constantly lie? Do they give you a script, because the racist thing is tired. Is this your first time voting experience? I tend to think that about Obamabots, because if you were truly an experienced voter you could see the writing on the wall, you can see through the bullshit and corruption, you would be outraged that this man could lie, cheat and steal an election, that corruption has taken over the democratic party and it is no longer the people’s party.
Democracy has left the democratic party this year, when and if it returns I will be back, but not until.
I will protect my dear country from Obama, I will vote country before party.

Don’t you think the president should know how many states we have? The state of Islam has 57 states but not our country.

What if Obama were the Anti-Christ?
