Baloney Alert: Obama Buys Prime Pravda Time

boloneyalert.gif

Already using the Main Stream Media as his own personal PRAVDA for free propaganda, Barack Obama has decided to buy half-hour prime time TV slots in order to bring The Glorious Comrade into the living rooms of America for longer, more controlled periods of time.

I don’t suppose we will hear the Chicago Thug talk about all the friends and sponsors he keeps hiding, do you? But at the cost of a half-hour on Teee Veee, I am willing to bet what’s left of my 401k that he will use a teleprompter. No sense of wasting expensive air time on Uhhhhhhhh and Ahhhhhhhh.

True to what he is, you can bet there won’t be anybody questioning him or probing for the truth about his Plans for The Union of Socialist States Of America. I wonder if that Hamas Compound money he forgot to report to the FEC will be used for the Buy. Or maybe the Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Lehman or Citibank bundled money. I imagine his Fannie Mae money was already spent as part of the $800,000 he mysteriously gave to ACORN to ‘Get out the vote”.

Oct. 9 (Bloomberg) — Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama plans to spend what likely will amount to millions of dollars to air a half-hour primetime television advertisement on CBS, NBC and possibly other major networks a week before Election Day.

Obama bought the time on the CBS Corp. network and General Electric Co.’s NBC for Wednesday, Oct. 29, according to spokeswoman Linda Douglass. Obama will appear on News Corp.’s Fox that evening as long as there’s no World Series game, she said. The campaign also is in talks to buy air time on Walt Disney Co.’s ABC, said Obama spokesman Bill Burton.

“It’s a good opportunity to reach a lot of voters,” Douglass said.

The Democratic contender will appear in the TV commercial slotted for 8 p.m. six nights before the Nov. 4 election as he seeks to reach tens of millions of voters to persuade them to support him over Republican candidate John McCain. Obama, 47, who has widened his lead in recent national polls, took some media buyers by surprise with the scope of the buy.

Let’s talk taxes. If you live in a state like NY, under Obama’s plan, most of your income will go to taxes.

  • 30yrdem-not any more

Now that we know we need to pass word around that if you support McCain/Palin don’t watch. Turn off your TV for 30 minutes. Think of it as conserving electricity! Think of the energy we could save during that 30 minutes. Dems are all about conserving, which we do because we have to but 30 minutes all over America, WOW the impact it could have…

People look at the date Obama bought airtime, Oct 29th!

This date is important to realize for one reason, to fend off the events of the days before.

Oct 24th, the unpredictable Rev Wright releases his book and the day before, Fitzpatrick must explain to the courts why the additional delays for Rezko’s sentencing!

If it was to bolster Obama to the people, he would have sought time on a night with more viewership. This is simply Obama getting ready to defend himself visa vie lies!

Does anyone here find it odd that Barack is buying up airtime when supposedly he is poised to win in a landslide on election day?
This whole thing just seems odd to me. Are people really going to listen to him talk for 30 minutes? My guess is only the followers will watch.

Ask yourself who is going to watch a half hour political ad? The bots will watch but anyone else will switch channels. It’s crazy to think this will win votes. Money would be much better spent on short ads that are in and out of people’s tv before they have a chance to change channels. So, we should be glad he is wasting money this way!

    Friday, October 10, 2008 – Rasmussen

A majority of voters (52%) favor John McCain’s plan for the federal government to buy up distressed mortgages and refinance them so homeowners can stay in their homes, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Thirty-five percent (35%) oppose the plan.

Democrats like McCain’s plan more than Republicans, even though Barack Obama opposes it. Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Democratic voters think it’s a good idea, compared to 47% of Republicans – and 49% of unaffiliated voters.

Seventy percent (70%) of African-American voters favor McCain’s plan, as do 50% of white voters.

Not surprisingly, support for McCain’s plan is highest among those in lower income groups.

Where he gets this “TONES” of money? I was asking this quastion from the begining of his campaign. It is impossible that, all this money is comming from inside contributions. The voting fraud, the money laundering, corruption, no matter where you look in Obama’s camp,it is just stinks. This is true, Firefly — most Americans know nothing about Odinga. Or Obama’s connection with him and the possible violation of the Logan Act involved.

    Logan Act
    http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_Act

    From the Wiki:

‘The Logan Act is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments.’

Suffice it to say, junior Senators who haven’t cleared their plans with sitting Presidents — and that certainly seems the case with what Obama did in Kenya in support of Odinga — are ‘unauthorized citizens.’

This information needs to be circulated as far and wide as possible. Please pass the video around, and any good articles on the subject as well.

Voters say Barack Obama beat John McCain in Tuesday night’s presidential debate 45% to 28%, but they also think McCain is better prepared to be president than Obama by an 11-point margin.

Over one-quarter of voters (28%) didn’t pick either man as the winner of the debate, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken Wednesday evening.

Sixty-one percent (61%) say McCain is prepared to be president, while 50% feel that way about Obama. While 28% say McCain isn’t ready to be the chief executive, 43% say that of the Democratic nominee.

Just to throw an “issue” in before my fellow swine — oink, oink — check out the new WSJ funny pages. Not officially funny pages but awfully funny (tragic funny).

The Bomb-a promises tax cuts for 95% of the American people. Okay, now your mass toss-up. 40% of American’s don’t pay taxes. How do you cut -$0-?

[I will digress: King Leonardo on Fractured Fairy Tales once addessed his subjects by saying: "Those who have little shall have less and those who have nothing shall have it taken from them!!!" To waves and cheers from the assembled mass. Sound familiar? But back to the "joke" (on us).]

Here’s the deal. Bomb-a wants to DOUBLE the capital gains tax, taking money from people who actually earn an income and invest in the economy, thereby growing it, and send checks to people who didn’t pay any taxes at all. In the Sherwood Forest (Robin Hood), that’s the way it’s done.

Excuse me, is there a Socialist in the house?

That’s how you (on ‘average’) create a tax reduction. You pay for it with other people’s taxes. For those people, you basically drive them to the immigration office to check out moving to Scotland.

There, fellow swine. An issue for you.

I vote NO on that one.

I know, now I’m a racist. And a swine. A swine racist. Goodness, what bullshit.

  • A Random Democrat

So what exactly is the issue? What is so awful and evil? He is seeking to address the American people directly as much as possible. How is that a bad thing? It is not illegal, immoral, or even remotely bad for him to purchase air time. I get that you hate Obama, but what is it exactly that is wrong with him doing this? Or is it just that you are so desperate to villify him in any way to justify your hatred of him that you HAVE to find define anything he does as something evil? You know i heard he sneezed earlier today! I guess that was a terrible and monsterous thing for him to do to, right?

Paul — Great ads. I am not counting McCain out. Let Obama spend millions on half hour prime time speeches. This is not going to sit well with people who are struggling to get by. I’m a straight Dem voter for 35 years who is now voting Republican. When I decided to do so, then I obviously decided to discuss issues with Republicans, too. That goes with the decision.

My commitment, since the primaries, is to ONLY vote for moderate Dems and Republicans.

I don’t wish to support EITHER the right or the left fringe groups.

The rhetoric on pro-Obama sites is as hate-filled as I’ve seen anywhere in my entire adult life. It’s nasty. It’s prejudiced. It’s embarassingly lacking in any true rational discussion. It’s attacking.

BOTH sides have heard from me, anyway, on this issue.

    Moderates need to speak out.

  • Paul3triple

you should realize as well that polls are counting on nearly every dem registered to vote obama and show up.
The kicker is this, ACORN is not the only ones registering false poeple. I am willing to bet 5% of dems that are counted in polls are fake registrants.
If you check the state party ID figures it will make you wonder where the pollsters are getting their numbers.
Also, if obama is so ahead why is he having his minions try to steal votes?
Do not let the press get to you. Remember what Hillary said,”just turn of the TV” for the ext 3 weeks.
Most of it is propaganda. I also think that the constant “its over” meme by dem. surrogates and strategists works our way.

Also, anyone see Orielly last night? He showed an interview of Dorhn and Ayers in 1998 with Connie Chung on ABC saying they should have been more militiant and they were so lucky to be a part of their bombings.
Khalidi is also being brought up on fox frequently. Farrakhan is on tape praising obama as the “messiah.”
Which if you do a quick check on what The NOI and Farrakhan think the messiah is you will be truly disturbed. Another guy in the neighborhood.
ever notice how obama adresses Louie as Minister? He must really respect his disgusting views. So much Obama attended the million man march.

Obama is NOI plant. That is why he is part of TUCC. They were smart enough to know no one could become prominent as a member of the radical NOI.
TUCC, however believes in much of the same philosophy but the preach it in the name of christ(sickening).
Wright was a muslim until he went to school for theology.
What is the tie that binds all of these men how did obama fall in with them?
Frank Marshall Davis and William Ayers.

I’m sure you’ll be glued to the TV when he’s on. I think it is pretentious, myself. He assumes that he is the “one we’ve been waiting for”, and we will be enraptured by his words. Gimme a break. I can’t stand having to see him or hear him for 30 seconds, much less 30 minutes.

  • A Random Democrat

That’s not what I was saying or asking. I get that you don’t like Obama for a bunch of reasons. I don’t care about that or those reasons. They are what they are. But this article and these comments are talking about and responding to his actions of purchasing air time as if it is some egregious sin. I’m asking, what is so wrong about this specific action? Why is his purchasing a large block of air time, which is no different than buying regular air time for commercials, it is just a longer period, such a terrible act? It is not illegal or immoral and is in fact a ground breaking campaign move.

  • Cindy, CA

October 29, 1929= Date of the Wall Street Crash. Did Obama pick this date on purpose? Of course he did. Everything he does isn’t accidental and this time the message is scary. When are people going to wake up to this guy and stand up for America.

Berlusconi Says Leaders May Close World’s Markets (Update1)

    By Steve Scherer

Oct. 10 (Bloomberg) — Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said political leaders are discussing the idea of closing the world’s financial markets while they “rewrite the rules of international finance.”

“The idea of suspending the markets for the time it takes to rewrite the rules is being discussed,” Berlusconi said today after a Cabinet meeting in Naples, Italy. A solution to the financial crisis “can’t just be for one country, or even just for Europe, but global.”

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell as much 8.1 percent in early trading and pared most of those losses after Berlusconi’s remarks. The Dow was down 0.5 percent to 8540.52 at 10:10 in New York.

Group of Seven finance ministers and central bankers are meeting in Washington today, and will stay in town for the International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings this weekend. European Union leaders may gather in Paris on Oct. 12, three days before a scheduled summit in Brussels, Berlusconi said today, while Group of Eight leaders may hold a meeting on the crisis “in coming days,” he said.

Berlusconi didn’t give any details about what kind of rules leaders were looking to change, except to say that leaders are “talking about a new Bretton Woods.”

The Bretton Woods Agreements were adopted to rebuild the international economic system after World War II in a hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. The aim of the agreements was to establish a monetary management system, initially by pegging currencies to gold. The IMF was set up later to help manage the international financial system.

Ooohh, I must have missed something in the article! So he is forcing people to watch it then? Well in that case it is a terribly monstrous thing for him to do. I mean providing a long block of time where he presents himself to the American people nationwide where they have the choice to tune in or not, that’s OK, I mean, if you aren’t interested, don;t watch right? But since he is forcing you to watch, then yeah, that is terrible.

Why is only Barak considered a socialist? Seems to me that there is really not much differences between the parties anymore. Sure Barak wants to raise taxes to pay for the deficit, but wasn’t it the big government spending of the Republicans that caused the explosion in the deficit?

Also, aren’t both parties actively involved in big government bail-outs right now? that sounds very socialist to me…

I think the entire country is becoming more socialist.

As a hardcore conservative I would also be made at the Republican partu and their socialist turn? no?

“The Davis Plan and Connections to Obama

In 1963, while serving in Navy Intelligence (from 1958-1967), I read the FBI file on Frank Marshall Davis. He had outlined the Communist plan to take over America from within, by installing educators at all levels of our educational system, gaining control of the media, getting Liberal judges appointed, recruiting, training and backing people to be elected to public office.
I have researched every piece of legislation I can find that the Liberal Democrats have passed since the early sixties, and if you will research for yourself, you will find that they have been slowly moving this country towards Socialism.

When Obama announced he was running for President as an unknown with only one major speech at the DNC (that the DNC and MSM made so much fuss over), he aroused my old Intel suspicions. So I started researching.

I have not found any evidence to convince me he is a Muslim, but I did find his radical associations were unusual. I found that Frank Marshall Davis, who had fled from Chicago to Hawaii in 1958 because of the FBI investigation, met Obama in Hawaii when Obama was 12 years old, and was Obama’s mentor from then till Davis died in 1987.

Davis put Obama in touch with the Socialist Party in Chicago (called the New Party) which Ayers is also a member of, therefore the first “Planned” contact with Ayres. The New Party helped launch and finance Obama’s political Career. Obama…..selected, trained, groomed, and scripted to become the “puppet” leader of the United Socialist States of America.
Since I am in the 4th and final stage of congestive heart failure and will be lucky to live long enough to see the next President take office, why should this election matter to me? Why does Obama’s statement, that he wants a “National Civilian Security Force” as strong and as well-funded as our military (conjuring up images of the old-style USSR police state) matter to me?

    IT’S SIMPLE… I LOVE AMERICA”

That is the biggest indication to me that Obama knows the poll numbers are not solid.

If he really thought the election were in the bag and he was doing that well — he would not be spending exhorbitant amounts of money to run more of his propaganda and try to shove himself down the throats of the public.

This will be a half hour of spin, whining, please vote for me and my “humble background” (which is rather a fiction, like most everything else is about him).

I keep posting here that I know lots of die hard dems who are voting for a Republican for the first time in their lives this year. They simply do not trust Obama and have had enough of his dissembing and flip-flopping and the media covering for him.

If his supporters don’t want to believe that Dems are jumping ship, that is fine. We won’t know the actual numbers until election day.

Further evidence that his own camp is not sure he can win is ACORN — the rampant voter fraud that is being investigated in 12 states now. Why would anyone needto cheat if they really were the new kind of politics and felt they could win the election fair and square?

Obama ‘Lying’ About Muslim Past, Expert Says
    Thursday, October 9, 2008 12:19 PM

By: David A. Patten Article Font Size

Sen. Barack Obama “is lying” when he insists that he has never prayed in a mosque and was never a Muslim, a prominent Middle East expert and journalist says.

Daniel Pipes, founder of the Middle East Forum think tank, says he fully accepts that Obama is a Christian now. But there is strong evidence that Obama received a Muslim upbringing during his years in Indonesia, Pipes said.

“It’s fine with me that he was a Muslim and a convert to Christianity,” Pipes told Newsmax. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal “is a convert from Hinduism. I have no problem with his conversion. What I have a problem with is that he’s lying” when he says he was never a Muslim.

Newsmax asked whether Pipes is alleging outright that Obama has lied about having a Muslim upbringing.

Pipes’ response: “The evidence suggests to me that he is lying, yes.”

Pipes told Newsmax, “It would start with the fact that his father was a Muslim — granted, not a practicing Muslim, but in the Muslim world, if your father is a Muslim, you’re a Muslim. His father named him Hussein, which is a name only given to Muslim babies. He went with his stepfather to a mosque. They celebrated certain Muslim holidays at the mosque together. He had knowledge of the Koran. He had knowledge of Muslim prayers. You put all this together, he was a Muslim.”

Pipes contends that a Nov. 12 post on Obama’s Web site headlined, “Barack Obama Is Not and Has Never Been a Muslim,” stated: “Obama never prayed in a mosque. He has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian.”

Today, that post bears the same headline, but does not include an assertion that Obama “never prayed in a mosque” and “has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim.”

The page now bears a quote Obama made during the Jan. 15 debate on MSNBC: “In the Internet age, there are going to be lies that are spread all over the place. I have been victimized by these lies. Fortunately, the American people are, I think, smarter than folks give them credit for.”

The current post, which includes links intended to debunk any Muslim connection, is headlined “Obama Has Never Been A Muslim, And Is a Committed Christian”.

Several media outlets, including the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times, have reported on Obama’s schooling in Indonesia, where he lived from 1967 to 1971, which included Muslim religious studies.

It is known, for example, that Obama’s designation as a Muslim while attending a Catholic school may have simply reflected the fact that his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, was Muslim.

Still, Obama was grouped with Muslim students at the school and engaged in weekly religious studies, including studying the Koran and learning Muslim prayers.

In 1970, Obama’s family moved and he was enrolled in a public school where children such as Obama who were identified as Muslim spent two hours a week studying Islam. [Editor's Note: Read the Los Angeles Times report on Obama's Muslim upbringing -- Click Here Now.]

A March 2007 Chicago Tribune article by Kim Barker, which stated several accounts had “distorted the reality” of Obama’s years in Indonesia, reported that he did irregularly attend Muslim prayer services at the local mosque.

Obama’s third-grade teacher at the Catholic school, Fermina Katarina Sinaga, told Barker that Obama accompanied his stepfather to pray at the mosque, doing so “rarely.”

Pipes said Barker’s story bolsters his position that Obama was raised as a Muslim while he lived in Indonesia. His accounts of Obama’s upbringing have received a “very severe reaction from the left” and threats from some Muslims, he said.

“The Islamists murmur and threaten,” Pipes said, declining to specify the threats he has received.

Pipes sees a whopping double standard in how the mainstream media has reported on Obama’s past.

“It’s been quite fascinating to watch the careful picking over of Sarah Palin’s record, down to her library policies as mayor of Wasilla, and her possible false pregnancies, and so forth, an analysis that involved excruciating details in her case.”

He contrasts that to the “the general pass” the media has given Obama, whether over his career in the Illinois Senate, the Annenberg library papers, or his upbringing in Jakarta. Pipes said his reports have “simply been dismissed as untrue without any facts to counter it.”

The McCain campaign “has been very cautious about looking into Barack Obama at all,” said Pipes, adding that the GOP has demonstrated a general reluctance to raise questions about Obama’s past.

Pipes has posted four articles on his Web site, “DanielPipes.org”, defending his view that Obama was a Muslim. The articles include the assertion that “for some years (Obama) had a reasonably Muslim upbringing under the auspices of his Indonesian stepfather.”

As a measure of the interest in Obama’s background, Pipes’ articles have attracted close to half a million hits. One point of contention they raise: When someone is born of a Muslim father, do Muslims automatically consider him a Muslim?

A group of more than 50 scholars recently posted a statement on tabsir.net, a Web site dedicated to fostering an understanding of Islam, that seeks to refute that assertion. The statement maintains that distortions about Obama’s past are “part of an Islamophobic hate campaign that fuels prejudice against Americans who practice their Islamic faith and Muslims worldwide.”

Their statement says, “The vast majority of Muslims accept the Qur’anic message that there is no compulsion in Islam. Since Senator Obama was not raised as a Muslim, he cannot be held accountable for the religious status of his father.”

That assertion sounds logical to Western ears, but Pipes’ rejects it flatly.

“There is no doubt: It is a fact in Islam that the religion passes on through the father,” he told Newsmax. “And yet it’s denied as a falsehood by people who know better. They know better. It’s Islam 101.”

Supporting Pipes on that point is Shireen K. Burki, an adjunct professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington. Burki, who spent her childhood studying Islam at a school in Islamabad, Pakistan, has first-hand experience as the daughter of a Muslim father and a Christian mother.

“According to Islamic jurisprudence,” she wrote in a May article in the Christian Science Monitor, “children of a Muslim father — even an apparently nonpracticing one, such as Obama’s father, and irrespective of the mother’s faith — are automatically Muslims. Most Muslims around the world agree: A child of a Muslim father is a Muslim. Period.”

Given that Obama’s profession of Christianity is essentially uncontested, one might wonder whether it really matters whether Obama once was Muslim.

To many of the world’s approximately 1.4 billion Muslims, it apparently would matter a great deal. Experts on Islam generally agree that someone who is born a Muslim (in effect, someone who had a Muslim father), who later renounces Islam, is considered an apostate.

Burki writes, “Should Obama become U.S. commander in chief, there is a strong likelihood that al-Qaida’s media arm, As-Sahab, will exploit his background to argue that an apostate is leading the global war on terror (read: attacks against fellow Muslims). This perception would be leveraged to galvanize sympathizers into action.”

She suggests the apostate tag would be a powerful propaganda weapon that al-Qaida could wield to marginalize America’s Middle East allies, causing “enormous difficulties” in the war against error.

I sent a e-mail Susan with something I found the other day and I can’t post it here. It is a e-mail from someone at fannie mea about schools and changing how they work.

I can’t post the first of it but here is what it is about.

Ed Dodson responding to Don Homuth…

[Note: I have changed the subject as my comments respond to what Don has posted,
which is somewhat different from the thread started by Ed Schwartz.]

Not one bit. Barrack cares as much for black people as that idiot rapper said Bush does. If Barrack wins the biggest losers will be the AA community and all the well qualified, dynamic black politiicans that are currently paying their dues and actually working their asses to improve things for both the black community and the greater community as well. Win or lose these folks lose. By opposing McCain on buying up bad mortgages what he is really saying is that many AA’s should be living on the street or in some of Rezko’s tenements rather than being vibrant parts of the community. Obama is actually endorsing harm to AA’s, other minorities and of course everyone in that middle to lower-middle class socioeconomic standing. I don’t like bailing people out of messes they created but I don’t want to see thousands and thousands of people become homeless either.

  • Here’s Your D-mn October Surprise

There are some interesting points that haven’t been mentioned by accusers concerning ACORN’s alleged participation in voter fraud:

ACORN is required by law to submit ALL voter registration forms collected by its organizatin to county election officials, even if those forms are only partially completed, and even if it suspects those forms to be fraudulent.

ACORN inspects voter registration forms collected by its representatives, and flags questionable forms as suspicious before submitting them to county election officials. The notorious Jimmy John’s registration submitted in Lake County, Indiana, for example, arrived at the county election office already flagged by ACORN as being bogus.

Those actually collecting registration applications at the neighborhood level are part-time employees with no permanent connections or commitments to ACORN. They were hired solely to collect applications.

So, I ask you: How hard would it be to create a high profile, multi-state voter fraud issue, by simply paying a dozen or so ACORN part-timers to fill out and submit hundreds of obviously bogus registration applications?

I’m asserting that this is exactly what republican operatives have done. The entire voter fraud issue is itself a carefully planned republican campaign fraud. Lawyers were already poised in key states to file complaints as soon as the story broke. It broke simultaneously in numerous locations, and was quickly pushed into the media spotlight. This false-flag operation will be the centerpiece of FOX’s anti-Obama propaganda from now till election day.

You need wait no longer for your “October surprise”. This scam is it.

  • gregoryp

When I was a kid Lyndon Larouche used to come on every four years like clockwork and do one of these things. Of course that was way back in the 70′s and early 80′s so I guess it doesn’t count. Only Obama has ever had the gumption to buy large segments of TV time to discuss issues? with the American public. You are quite right in believing that he is not only the one true beacon of light but the reincarnation of Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, Jacob, Moses and all the other great prophets rolled into one neat super-deity package. I just don’t know how I missed it until now.

  • Alan

I’m pissed off at JP Morgan Chase for their contributions and involvement in Obama’s campaign.

I am contemplating refinancing with a company that does not take my money and donate it to this toxic socialist. I just need to find a company that will not resell my loan as given the dwindling number of banks it could end up back in JP Morgan’s hands.

I’m also looking to sever ties with other backers of Obama.

  • Newly Independent

So what exactly is the issue?

I already know that you’re not reasonable when it comes to your beloved Obama judging from your post, but I’ll take a stab at this anyway:

Why did Obama run from the three town hall meetings that he agreed to have with John McCain during the summer – yet buy MSM network time to stage then broadcast an informercial?

Why is Obama still avoiding town hall meetings? Does he think that he’s too good to speak to the people and answer their questions?

Or is it just that you are so determined to vent him in every way to justify your hatred of him that you HAVE to find define anything he does as something evil?

Just correcting some of your ignorant rant to reflect the truth.

Oh – and “hatred” of Obama doesn’t have to be found. Obama GIVES normally rational people good reasons to dislike him all by himself.

  • gregoryp

Are you sure that Obama and his campaign surrogates even know the significance of this date? Joe Biden didn’t even know that Herbert Hoover was President. And Obama doesn’t know a fucking thing about this country’s history or its values. For a man who has wanted to be President his whole life he sure hasn’t done much preparation for the job.

  • Goblintrain

i think you need to offer this to some conspiracy extremist radio programs! :-P

Doesn’t Axelrod get a percentage of that HUGE media buy ? Maybe those who stand to make a final nice chunk of change have convinced him that this is his ticket to the Whitehouse.

  • http://none Jessie Britton

The polls are still trending in the wrong way. It is not that Obama is getting any great help in the way of the voters thinking that be can correct our Economy, its because they believe that the Democrats can do better. I have a serious problem when I think about the intelligence of the American public. The main culprit in this economic meltdown is the subprime credit and all of this was designed by the Democrats, implimented by the Democrats for their low income and minority base. McCain tried to slow down correct it before what we are seeing today, yet we blame it on him and will try to elect those that helped create the mess.

  • Pennsylvania goes RED!

I believe it will be a half hour defensive screed combined with a detailed attack on McCain. I don’t think it will be propaganda at all. I think he’s going to go after McCain with something, who knows what, that McCain won’t have enough time to effectively respond to.

The only problem is, Oct. 29 is more than two weeks away. Who knows what will develop or transpire between now and then. 0bama’s campaign has been successful at presenting grandiose spectacles and organizing questionable voter drives, but their ability to think on their feet is not one of the strong points.

  • Mr. Natural

FWIW, our local elections have been affected.

I campaigned on the local democratic ticket for a group of people who had done a lot of good locally in the past four years. We were on the right side of all local issues, greenbelts, sustainable development, low impact growth, limiting light pollution, less urban sprawl, preserving open space, less tax dollar waste.

We were thrown overboard in the primaries by people screaming for change. They swallowed the snake oil peddled by our opposition.

What made this possible was Obama’s mantra, “Change,” coupled with a deep economic uncertainty. I heard it in doorway after doorway as I walked my township.

  • Rob in Chicago

    Random:

No one here is telling Obama not to spend his ill-gotten gains on this huge media buy (after Axelrod gets his percentage of the media buy cost). It is better than having him put all that money into buying the other portion of his vacant next door lot after he loses the election. This issue too is a matter of judgment. How much MSM time and attention does this guy need (I know, with him, there can never be enough) ? The MSM is already throwing their panties on stage for him for free. Is this an attempt to pay the MSM back for all the freebies ?

I give up am getting ready for a difficult 4 years when things will get worse in every respect, there is going to be a division in this country like we have never seen before and who wants to pretend that is not going to happen they can keep fooling their selves.

I for on will not accept Obama as president and am sure am not alone, but sadly this is want some in this country want, this is what the media is pushing, that together will full control of the house by the democrats to do whatever the want, pass what laws they want and Obama with his new agenda for America and Americans.

I really thought people in this country were astute in their politics and how they view it but unfortunately it does not seems so and Americans will have to feel to learn sad but that is the reality we are facing.

  • AF catfish

McCain is trumping Obama on the economic crisis (or he’s taking more action)

McCain proposes suspending mandatory stock sales:

LA CROSSE, Wis. – John McCain proposed Friday that the elderly be allowed to hang on to the stocks in their retirement funds and not be forced to sell them in a bad market.

The Republican presidential candidate would suspend requirements that people start selling off retirement investments when they turn 70 and a half.

“Spare investors from being forced to sell their stocks just in time when the market is hurting the most,” McCain said to cheers at a western Wisconsin rally. “We have to protect investors, particularly those who are relying on investments for retirement.”

Meanwhile Obama still can’t decide if he wants bankrtuptcy reform. He has to think…very…carefully because things are happening so fast. He’ll let us know in 2010 what he decides to do.
