Media Bias * Open Thread

How many times a day do we all comment to each other, and to our friends, about the biased reporting going on in this campaign?

The SAME media that sold the American people on the Iraq war is now selling us on Barack Obama. We know where the first sales job got us: In a war we didn’t need to begin (although, imho, now that we’re there, we’d better not leave it in a mess). NOW the media are telling us that Barack Obama is the “second coming” and has nothing good to say about John McCain and Sarah Palin. (And look at how the MSM are mostly handling the longtime Ayers/Obama relationship: “Nothing to see there. Move along now.” It’s infuriating.)

OPEN THREAD!

  • Obamassiah

How dare we the people allow the MSM to do this to us again. This is the same thing they did with George W Bush. It took 5 years for the MSM to actually start asking real questions. Who suffers through this, US. I email the media over and over , in hopes that one of them will feel some guilt or remorse and actually start doing their job. At the end of the day, we must remember they have a job to do and sometimes it benefits them to have someone that is incompetent.

    • Ann Arbor for Palin

      Obamassiah,

      Congress failed Americans.
      Wall Street failed Americans.
      MSM failed Americans too.

      Thanks God we have Internet.

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

The SAME media that sold the American people on the Iraq war is now selling us on Barack Obama.

The question to ask is who are their masters? Who is really pulling the strings? I never thought I would see such entrenched evil in my country! The Fourth Estate is morally bankrupt and must be held accountable!

    • Ann Arbor for Palin

      Tresklion,

MSM sells their bias on Obama to the world!

I can read Chinese, and I read Taiwan, China and Hong Kong versions of google news everyday. The sources of their US news are NY Times, CBS, CNN and AP!!!

    • lark

Their masters are the dollar bills.

  • Shiloh

In a giant flash of cosmic justice, the msm bias will end up being a negative for Obama as they go over the top and disgust swing voters. Wait and see!

    • lisa in va

      Now that would be karma!

    • Pennsylvania goes RED!

The MSM doesn’t have a clue

The crowd showed equal disdain for the media, fueled by comments from Palin, who encouraged the Republican supporters to take the campaign’s message around the media. “I can’t pick a fight with those who buy ink by the barrel,” she said. “It’s dangerous territory whenever I suggest the mainstream media isn’t asking all the questions.”

That message was clearly shared among the crowd. Mike Payne, who traveled from Madison, Wis., for the rally, rejected the idea that McCain’s supporters are angry, preferring to use the word “frustrated.”

“It might have something to do with you guys,” he told a reporter.

“It’s not anger at all. It’s frustration. There’s millions of people around the country that think like we do. You guys refuse to acknowledge that, and you insult our intelligence by misreporting the information. You are treating [Obama] like he’s Britney Spears and covering him like he’s Paris Hilton, instead of the next president of the United States, potentially.”

  • HB 1 Chappaquidick Ted Jeremiah KKK USA

    The same media indeed.
Obama is also backed by the far left such as Ted Kennedy and Tom Daschle.
It should be no suprise to see the media supporting him.

  • AF catfish

Can we stop the trope that Obama is “cool and collected” in this financial crisis? Obama is clinging to his TelePrompter and paralyzed by fear! He criticizes McCain’s suggestions without offering alternatives of his own.

McCain’s two ideas this week — 1) buying up mortgages and 2) suspend mandating selling of 401ks — they were both good ideas which could interrupt this panic and restore stability. McCain is nimble in a crisis and can lead us. Obama is brittle and stiff, just like Herbert Hoover.

  • scrootyfrooty

Yes, it is infuriating. I don’t expect that it will change before the election.

I do know this: Everybody is hearing about Ayers. They are hearing about the connections that Obama has to ACORN. They are understanding the Obama connection to Odinga. Wright hasn’t been brought up enough, but I’m hoping that it will also.

If the MSM is biased and most of the polls are conducted by those individuals, the polls are likely to be biased as well.

People are pissed off at the economy, but the economy is the fault of our entire government, as well as wall street, and lots of greedy individuals.

People WILL get tired of hearing Obama constantly try to sidestep every bad choice that he has made in his career. People WILL get tired of the lies and deception. We don’t want our friends to be people that we cannot trust. We don’t want our president to be someone that we cannot trust. If an individual doubts that the candidate has the best interest of the country in mind, he/she will not vote for that candidate.

There is still a decision to make in November and it is becoming increasingly clear to the average person that there is no honesty or integrity in Obama.

The one thing that we cannot do is think that poll numbers should cause us to stay home on election day. Polls mean nothing!

  • Paul3triple

Goerge Soros is their master. Along with GE who has MSNBS as Obama’s press secretary channel.
The bildeburgers are tied to him. All the foriegn money.
    Obama has alot of money.
That is why i keep saying, we the poeple have to rise up and organize with mccain’s camp volunteer.
We can win. It is not just up to mccain. We know he is right for america. So we have to tell everyone else.
Obama is a threat to our freedom.

ACORN guy on Fox lying out his ass right now. Talking about how wonderful ACORN is…

    • Perry Logan

I’ve come to the conclusion that ACORN is an innocent victim of a concerted Republican effort to suppress the vote.

The accusations and investigations are part of the Bush administration’s corrupt Justice Department. Read all about it in this expose by Greg Palast of the BBC:

From your link here is palast:

        GREG PALAST:

And why don’t the Democrats protect voters? Because they’re in on the game. As you saw in New Mexico, you had Democratic Party officials knocking off the Native American vote, which is huge in New Mexico. It’s a swing vote in New Mexico. And they’re all Democrats—Native Americans—almost to a one. But they wanted to stop a uranium mine locally, and so the local policy want their baksheesh from the uranium mine are knocking off Native American votes. We see this in Colorado, we see this in Florida, where local Democratic officials are in on the purge, in on the game, trying to block the low-income minority voters. There are so many dangers now for the new voter, for the minority voter, for the elderly voter.
        http://www.democracynow.org/2008/10/9/greg_palast_on_vote_rigging_and

How does that fit in with your “conclusion that ACORN is an innocent victim of a concerted Republican effort to suppress the vote” ?

The SAME media that sold the American people on the Iraq war is now selling us on Barack Obama

I’ve been making that point for awhile now. The media is just sucking up to the next powerbase since it’s seemingly set up for a dem sweep. When McCain wins watch how fast they start sucking up to the “Maverick”.

    • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

My 86 year old mom, a staunch Southern Democrat, voted today by absentee ballot as she has a hard time getting to the polls. She voted for McCain/Palin and also a straight Republican downline, as she is disgusted with the Democratic party.

I NEVER thought I would EVER see my mom vote Republican. I can’t believe that she is the only one out there this election year. Don’t give up hope.

    • lisa in va

They can suck up all they want after McCain wins. I want accountability and I want resignations. Nothing less.

  • John

Guys, I’m really starting to lose hope here. I think the battle has been lost and we are going to see the impeachment of President Obama as all the shit that the MSM has carefully hidden from us this fall comes out next year. I expect we may well see President Biden by Christmas, 2009. But I no longer believe that we are going to be able to overcome the Blame McCain for the Economy And Everything Else media machine before November 4.

    • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

John, who knows what will happen. It’s still a ways off till Nov 4th and a lot can happen till then. There are the 18 million disaffected Hillary supporters. There are also tons of folks out there who are voting McCain and just don’t say so, for fear of being labeled racist.

So many factors…it’s definitely going to be interesting.

I do know one thing however, no matter what, nobama will NEVER be my president and I will continue to fight, as I know others here at NQ will as well, for America’s freedom

    • lisa in va

Actually, I’m starting to feel alot better when I see that audience members at McCain rallys are booing and giving the finger to the media there. I’m starting to feel better when I see the audience angry.

I think the polls are wrong. I won’t believe otherwise until Nov 4th.

      • PhxNickD

same here, it is about time people started getting angry. this is the way we felt when hillary was running, we knew the republicans wouldn’t let it go. good for them.

    • Uña de Gato

Once Obama gets up there, no one is taking him down. He has the whole Wall Street financial world in a panic through the hedge fund traders led y Soros, his and Oprah’s BFF. People are making money off this crisis, and look no further than Dodd, Frank, Pelosi, and the rest of the bunch.

    • lark

You are right but there is too much volatility in our economy and too many unsavory and corrupt connections to Obama. One of them may connect still and the economy may give us a surprise.

    • b mathews

since all 3 brances of govt. will be under democratic control..there is no way the dems will impeach obama no matter what he does.they are now under the control of the chicago political machine, which is why they moved dnc headquarters to chicago.

  • NCgirl

Yes, Susan, the media followed GWB blindly into Iraq without questioning anything. Later when it all started to go very badly, they were stepping all over each other trying to make excuses for what they’d done. They are doing the very same thing now. The media isn’t asking Obama any questions, blindly accepting him at face value. I wonder how they are going to square it with us if Obama wins, and it all goes badly again (and it will)?

True journalistic reporting in the broadcast infotainment media that calls itself the News, is extinct.
I would like to cut on the News just once, and not hear opinionated commentary. Just the facts, just the facts. I am quite capable of forming my own opinion without someone telling what that opinion needs to be.

  • Perry Logan

This Media Matters blog argues that the media bias is actuallyt for McCain and, as an example, explores John McCain’s close relationship to G. Gordon Liddy—another “unrepentant terrorist” who plotted to kill one of the most respected journalists in American history, and who urged listeners to kill federal agents and advised them on how to do so:

The truth is that when John McCain says “jump,” the media still ask, “How high?” Think about this: When was the last time McCain or his campaign has wanted the news media to focus on something, and they have refused? From “lipstick on a pig” to Bill Ayers, the media have scampered after whatever mud McCain has flung, like a puppy dog chasing a stick thrown by its master. Sure, sometimes they have pointed out that McCain is lying — and that’s tremendous progress for a profession that has spent a decade flatly asserting McCain’s honesty.

    http://mediamatters.org/items/200810100015?f=h_top

    • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

Why did you post this without pointing out their bias and agenda?

From MSNBC of all places: Calling out Media Matters’ bias
      (Google media matters bias
to find it. Link would not post)

They have a horse in this race and it is obviously not named Mac.

    • Susan1968

Perry — as someone who lived through the Nixon/Liddy era may I point out that you and your sources exaggerate on the brink of outright lies when you say he “plotted to kill a journalist.”

The plot you talk of was a discussion over dinner with Hunt when Liddy misunderstood what Nixon mean by “get rid of” the journalist. Nixon immediately disavowed Liddy of this misunderstanding.

Liddy was an FBI agent in his early career — the idea that he would seriously tell others to kill Federal agents is ridiculous.

But since you’re making comparisons between Liddy & Ayers, let’s go item by item:

      1. Ayers helped build Obama’s Chicago political career. Liddy did not do this for McCain.

      2. Ayers’ various groups received government funds with Obama’s political help and influence. Liddy had no such financial connection with McCain.

      3. Ayers and Obama sat on many boards together. Ayers even mentioned Obama in his own book. No such connection for Liddy-McCain.

      4. Ayer’s group is repsonsible for killing and maiming bystanders. Liddy’s actions during the Watergate break-in did no such thing.

      5. Ayers never served time for his crime. Liddy served time for his crime.

    • NoBamaNoWay

I wish I could see what the media sees in Obama. But I can’t find anything to support his election. He stands for nothing. He is dismissive of anyone who does not fall at his feet in adulation. He believes his own hype. He cheats repeatedly. And, oh, btw, his plane stinks.

    Go, McCain/Palin!

    • AF catfish

They are afraid of Obama. Notice they actually picked up the Ayers story and even Time mag gave Obama a second, tough interview asking when he knew Ayers was a former terrorist.

  • Susan1968

Look – I have this feeling that the these 7% to 8% of voter who are undecided three weeks before the election are pulling pollsters’ legs.

    They HAVE decided.

But since the MSM has clearly announced in so many overt and covert ways that not voting Obama means you are a racist, these people are only claiming to be undecided to avoid the grief they’ll get.

Thank God for the privacy of the voting booth.

    • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

Plus, I think that MANY people let their families and friends think they are voting for Precious, but they will vote for McCain when they get in the voting booth.

I drove through an area in which I normally drive frequently. The 0bama signs have been joined by an amazing number of McCain/Palin signs. It is amazing to watch. One yard has one of each. I think that this election is McCain’s to WIN.

Barack Obama’s newly appointed Muslim outreach adviser is coming under fire for meeting with Islamic groups with extremist views, just two months after her predecessor resigned over links to a radical cleric.

Minha Husaini met with members of several Islamic organizations in Virginia on September 15 — including some that terrorism experts say have ties to Hamas and the radical Muslim Brotherhood.

Among the attendees were senior members of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which was listed by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror-related trial.

Several people connected to CAIR have been convicted of felonies — including on terrorism-related charges

      Bad judgment Mr. Obama.

The media got mad when they found out Edwards had lied to them about his affair but Obama lies all the time and they give him a pass. They are screwing the country by doing this and they don’t give a shit about it.

I just don’t see how we can fight them. The democrats lie repeatedly on television and the people fall for it, they thrive on the lies. All this truth is out there and they don’t care. They say we are republicans making it up.

Reverend Wright-He didn’t hear it.Then says yes he heard it.
Father Pfleger-He didn’t know it until he knew it.
    Ayers-He didn’t know it?
They call it the political silly season, only problem is we have been trying to get the media to report the truth for months and when they finally do, political silly season?

I am not angry because of McCain’s ads as the media says. I am angry because the media is covering up the truth. Did you notice they don’t play the guy asking Palin how do we get the media to tell the truth? Palin said I can’t go up against the people who buy ink by the barrel, we have to do it. I wish she would tell us how.

    • mimi

Frankly, I don’t think Edwards’ sordid affair was exposed in retribution to the anger the msm felt towards him about lying. I really believe that 0bama and his people dropped the dime on Edwards’ affair.

I believe Edwards had made a deal with 0bama for a Cabinet Post, probably Attorney General and 0bama never had any intention of honoring it, not wanting to be tied to Edwards in any way. So they sic’d the Nat’l Enquirer on him giving 0bama and the DNC the leverage to distance themselves from Edwards and keep him from appearing at the Convention.

0bama and the DNC did everything possible to have a closed Convention. That’s why Hillary didn’t get a roll call. As it was, 0bama had to begrudgingly share the spotlight with Hillary and Bill. He didn’t want any stubborn Edwards supporters raining on his already cloudy Convention parade.

I also think that many in the media already knew about the affair but had no specifics to report so they left it alone, especially after Edwards dropped out of the race. After all, most media budgets didn’t have the money to spare by putting a reporter on the story, especially with the Primary and the Presidential Election.

That’s why I think someone put the tabloid on Edwards’ trail. Someone made a phone call.

Furthermore, I don’t believe that the msm is naive about 0bama. They are doing their masters’ bidding. They will change only when ordered to do so.

This is what has been exposed about the 4th Estate, to my way of thinking. I have accepted that I can no longer rely on what any of them are reporting. That the real info is hidden beneath the surface, that it must be sought out through due diligence.

I think the reason we are here at noquarter is because we know this already. So I wish people would stop lamenting about what’s going on in print and on the air. We should be passed that by now.

      Follow the money…..

Whoever signs the checks of the people working in media ( they no longer deserve to called journalists) are giving the orders.

It’s time we identify them and their agenda!

      • Angel

Considering that’s been his M.O. in every election he’s ever campaigned in, it isn’t a stretch at all to believe it was 0 that dropped the bomb on Edwards. It’s the ONLY way he knows how to operate.

  • trails

I do agree that the Bradley effect is in play. But why not. Openly supporting Barky’s opponent is grounds to have someone shouting or slobbering in your face! And that’s WITH Barky’s blessing.

Civility is dead in the US. And that includes the media,

    • 30yrdem-not any more

Yes, his supporters yell “No USA No USA” where is the media coverage on that. We tried to tell them during the primary but they didn’t listen. I wonder if Obama’s Muslim Outreach coordinator will have to step down? It still won’t make a difference because this is not the first one to do it. I am beginning to believe he does have ties to Hamas. His people keep meeting with all the wrong people.

I strongly believe that the Uhbama campaign is just trying to psych us all out. They don’t want us to vote…they want us to feel defeated. After visiting ABC.com, MSNBC.com and CNN.com tonite I was so angry at what they choose to put up at top stories.

I am done saying that I am going to do something…I am done complaining.

I am going to the GOP/McCain office on Monday. I wanted NC to go blue when Hillary was around, now I will be damned if this state is going to be anything other than red. I have always voted Dem…now I wonder what the hell I was thinking! I think I was drinking the juice all along. I vote on character and record from now on. This year though, it is straight Repub all the way!

I hope that McCain does the 1/2 hour ad like Uhbama. I hope that McCain goes on and outlines all the reasons why he should be president. Palin should be on there too talking about how she could never vote for someone with a background like Uhbama’s. McCain should start out by saying how he has been nothing but transparent and is going to give all of us some straight talk!

I had a call from the DNC yesterday — it wasn’t a poll, they did not mention Obama’s name, however they asked if I would “Volunteer” in my district to get out the vote.

I had a strong desire to let it rip and tell him how pissed I am at the DNC.

But then I quickly decided …. TO LIE.

I told him I was unable to volunteer due to personal reasons but they could count on my vote.

So the guys says – “You’ll be voting democrat down the ticket then?”

“Oh yes I will!” (Lie – I’m voting against every super delegate holding elected office who voted for Obama).

Why did I lie? To mess with their expectations in my swing state of Florida.

I had a local Obama phone bank call me a week or so ago. When I told her exactly WHY I would not vote for Obama, she kept telling me “I’m sorry that you’ve been misinformed” and kept trying to direct me to Obama’s ‘lies’ site. I told her that she is the most naive person in the world if she thinks that his coverups are NOT lies and after I continued to verbally assail her with facts and figures, she finally hung up saying “Im sorry you’ve believed wrong information”.

I guess they have no brains to actually discuss those pesky facts, huh?

I’m confused and sick over this – AOL’s headline says “Panel Finds Palin Abused Her Power”, saying,

Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, the chief investigator of an Alaska legislative panel concluded Friday. The politically charged inquiry imperiled her reputation as a reformer on John McCain’s Republican ticket

    I’m stunned, absolutely stunned.

The world has gone mad when a police officer can commit unlawful acts and still patrols, a Presidential candidate can be caught in lie after lie about his association with anti-American, anti-white radicals, convicted felons, unrepentant domestic terrorists, corrupt organizations that engage in fraud that threatens our election system – and this only scratches the surface of his nefarious activities – and a good, righteous woman is deemed to have abused her power.

Rezko, Wright, Ayers, ACORN – all swept under the rug with nary a murmur while pundits are calling for her to resign over this. What the hell????

    I was mad before.
Now I’m as a woman scorned.
    Look out.

I am a work at home employee, I am also a self-professed political junkie. I watch a little of each of the three major cable news networks, all day long. I can tell you with a degree of certainty that Democratic official guests on the networks are getting few and farther between. Yeah, we are hearing from the old regulars, but I am not seeing too many of the big names out there defending any of BO’s shenanigans. They are all busy trying to cling to their own jobs. I’m guessing by a week before the election, they will be throwing BO under the bus.

obama broke his promise to take public financing because his campaign is fueled by a dollar or two donations from grassroots supporters:

If troopergate is all the media has on Palin than I’m very confident and pleased.

There’s no comparison between a governor “abusing power” to protect her sister and nephew and a senator abusing power by rigging elections, buying homes he can’t afford through crooks and getting positions for unqualified cronies….and cavorting with crooks, terrorists, racists and anti-Americans.

what i can tell you is i have monitored the corpmedia worldwide for BO “progressives” in the USA for some years, but stopped about six months before this campaign began because i suddenly realised they weren’t really progressives, if you know what i mean.
    ;
like many of you, i also stopped reading kos, du, tpm, raw, bradblog, thinkprogress, americablog, huffpo, long before the walkout. but i cannot tell you how good it made me feel when the walkout occurred. it helped me regain my faith in thinking dems.

however, i’ve monitored all the media during the campaign and realised the fix was in early on as all the rightwing corpmedia worldwide was with BO from the very start. BBC is one of the worst offenders. if you search their archives you will find nothing positive about mccain, in fact very little reporting on his campaign at all. search BO and you will find hundreds of glowing articles and multiple endorsements by celebs, yet very little on policies.

i still cannot believe a majority of dem voters over 30 would vote for BO, so the amount of fraud necessary is huge. the polls have been faked and the corpmedia has a lot of input in calling the elections, so here’s wishing you strength and courage as you enter the final straight. get the reformers in the white house and then demand reform of the corpmedia, the elections and the financial system. good luck to you all.

I think it’s a good idea to spread the details of Troopergate. Think about how many low information voters don’t know the facts. All they hear is abuse of power.

I say pass the details around. Let them rip. Can you imagine how many people might think twice once they know how personal the situation was for Palin?

I also find it ironic that AAs, whose relationship with the police in their communities is, ‘challenged,’ and that’s putting it midly, are being willfully ignorant about this.

I think the more people have to listen to the details, the less likely they’ll want this on the front page.

It’s too easy to empathize with the situation as well as be fearful about the growing abuse of power within law enforcement.

McCain response to today’s Alaska findings:

ARLINGTON, VA — McCain-Palin 2008 spokeswoman Meg Stapleton issued the following statement on today’s release of Stephen Branchflower’s report:

“Today’s report shows that the Governor acted within her proper and lawful authority in the reassignment of Walt Monegan. The report also illustrates what we’ve known all along: this was a partisan led inquiry run by Obama supporters and the Palins were completely justified in their concern regarding Trooper Wooten given his violent and rogue behavior. Lacking evidence to support the original Monegan allegation, the Legislative Council seriously overreached, making a tortured argument to find fault without basis in law or fact. The Governor is looking forward to cooperating with the Personnel Board and continuing her conversation with the American people regarding the important issues facing the country.”

    FINDINGS:

    Finding Number One

For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) provides

The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.

    Finding Number Two

I find that, although Walt Monegan’s refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

    Finding Number Three

Harbor Adjustment Service of Anchorage, and its owner Ms. Murleen Wilkes, handled Trooper Michael Wooten’s workers’ compensation claim property and in the normal course of business like any other claim processed by Harbor Adjustment Service and Ms. Wilkes. Further, Trooper Wooten received all the workers’ compensation benefits to which he was entitled.

    Finding Number Four
The Attorney General’s office has failed to substantially comply with my August 6, 2008 written request to Governor Sarah Palin for infomration about the case in the form of emails.

    • PhxNickD

she could have went out and shot the trooper and it would not change my opinion of her.

Please read this ‘letter’ from the Chicago DSA newsletter called New Ground. It is from January-February 2005 and seems to be written by a New Party member. Of interesting note is this passage:

What, then, are we progressives supposed to do? We must start again on the laborious task of building an alternative political force, a new party. Not right away, but when objective conditions (depression or losing a war) send the people to the left. That will come, maybe sooner than we think.

Barack Obama has proven ties to this organization starting back in 1995. Damning proof that this beyond left socialist ‘party’ wants America to ‘lose a war or have a depression….and guess what? Here we are 4 years later close to a depression and a man running for President who wants to withdrawl our troops from Iraq without victory. He wants us to be in a depression and losing in war so we will be ripe for a socialist agenda in America.

I’d been getting this aerial killing crap too. It started the day after she was nominated. It has some of my supposedly more intelligent friends in tears. I’m really upset that these friends are allowing themselves to be manipulated in this manner. The thing is that it’s working. It opened them up to the other crap that came down the pike afterwards. It’s the Obama-bots doing what they did to Hillary, all over again.

I really do not understand this female backlash against Palin. While I clearly do not agree with many of her philosophies, I’ve not seen her try to force her point of view into any governmental action so far.

Actually, I’m starting to feel alot better when I see that audience members at McCain rallys are booing and giving the finger to the media there. I’m starting to feel better when I see the audience angry.

But now the MSM (NY Times article up on Google now) are running stories like “McCain/Palin Supporters Gone Wild.” I agree with McCain we need to get angry but stay respectful. We can’t feed the media with frivolous story ideas to support their “Messiah.”

    • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

I too am glad to see angry audiences because I wondered if I was alone in my rage that McCain isn’t fighting back.

Obama is the most dangerous thing we’ve seen, with his connections to criminals, racists and dangerous people. He needs to be exposed.

But hey, I guess playing the ‘racist card’ on the media is working for him and his ‘bots

Either the election will be stolen by or for Obama or McCain will win. Most grown-up Americans see through all this manipulation by the MSM.

    • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

I received an email recently that indicated that the polls are all slanted about 6% in favor of Obama. They’re polling far more Dems than Repubs. Think they’re trying to mess with our heads and keep us from bothering to vote?

      That isn’t going to work.

Want to talk about some bias? Check this out: http://forums.therandirhodesshow.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=12207&view=findpost&p=187115 Found this linked on another board. It would appear that on this other ‘orange’ board, the allegations of ‘racist’ go to anyone who disagrees with the Obots. Of course, in this case, the board infections members, decided that a guy exercising his power as a business owner to choose who he does business with was a racist since he wasn’t letting Obama supporters park in his parking lot.

When another member explained that business owners have that right, then one of the infections members proceeded to label THAT member as racist as well.

As has been noted many times in the past few months, Obama and his Obots are now setting race relations back over 50 years in this country, with their constant ‘victim’ mentality and playing of the race card.

However, if that is fact, I would think that would be actionable on the basis of free speech AND the Fairness Doctrine. Again, I’m not saying this is the case, just asking if it’s so.

Depending on who the intern is moderating their comments at the moment, certian anti-Obama comments will suddenly disappear. It does not happen 24/7 from what I’ve noticed – it happens at certain times of day depending on who’s doing comment moderation.

last nite chris mathews finally crossed the line of decency. he claims mccain and palin are inciting hate for obama at their rallies, by trying to portray him as unamerican, saying they crossed the line of decency. (where was he when obama supporters hurled vicious invectives at hillary?) matthews said that there are a lot of nuts out there and someone may take it into their head to do the “unthinkable” referring to the “A” word. while he didnt actually use the word he made it very clear what he was talking about. this is way out of line and he needs to be censured. should the unthinkable happen, lets remember it was chris matthews who first brought it up.(and maybe put the idea in someones head)

    • drillnow#2008

I call to few bancs to find if I be able to refinance my home. I have a little over 63 thousands left to pay of my mortgage, but I try to get smaller payments. Gues what, they dont want to talk to me about, because to small amoun, ao will charge me much higher intrest. I THOUGHT, THAT OUR BANKS ARE IN A BIG TROUBLE, AND NEED MONEY, AND 63 THOUSADS IS NOT A SMALL AMOUNT. SO

The only way to defeat the media is to create our own media.

We’ve seen this situation before, around 1980 when the GOP got itself into gear and started building up a network of think tanks and media outlets.

The internet has brought a new wave of work to be done, for those not interested in MSNBC and Daily Joke.

The MSM has never been more tanked-out for a candidate than it is for Obama. It is ridiculous, but it must be systematically countered. None of what is necessary to defeat the liars will be accomplished overnight.

Does it matter that the guy said before she was the vp pick that she didn’t fire him over the cop? now he changes his story….another liar.

  • lisa in va

The media made me. All I’ve ever cared about is a fair election. I don’t care that politicians lie…they all do. But the media is supposed to investigate and give the American public the truth. If they are unable to do that, then there should be a warning at the bottom of the tv screen during the news broadcasts “Warning: For entertainment value only”.

We weren’t born this way. We were made…by the media and probably by you. So, you can go ahead and reap what you sow.

  • catherine

Yawn. So says the Obamajugend. Where was the media’s “concern” when the Obama thugs and fanatics were intimidating and insulting Clinton supporters during the primaries?

Maybe Obama should not have bullied everybody with the race card and been furious in response to questions about his associations. Maybe Obama created this slow boil of rage – did that ever occur to you? You think this will get better if Obama is elected? No. It will get worse.

  • Uña de Gato

McCain is speaking for all the Americans who are fed up with the Obama-Media love fest, the Oprah-ization of politics, the Chicago corruption, and the Wall St. hit-and-run capitalism. Too bad you are so complacent with global despair, you seem to take pleasure in it, jenny.

  • http://OTliesvideo Lyn

McCain and Pallin did not release any demons that honor belongs to Obama and his supporters. The anger and rage Mccain sees at his rallies, is the anger that has been building up for MONTHS as we watched in honor Obama lies cheat and steal with the help of Pelosia, Dean, Donna B and most of the MSM. The anger is from being called names by Obama and his thugs just because we dare vote against him, watching the MSM lie and cover for him as each new fact about Obama’s friends and past come out.
Were pretty much fine accepting responsibility our actions, shame Obama never his for all of his.

  • hadenough

    Thanks for stopping by.

  • Gal from Tex

hmm what’s the weighting on those polls, troll? ‘Nuff said.

  • Susan1968

    I just checked RCP — you’re off.

Gallup has him at a 10 point lead, Newsweek at an 11 point lead, the others in the same date frame (10/7 to 10/9)have him at a 5 or seven lead.

The average for these dates is: Obana 6.6 with 8% UNDECIDED.

Now you tell me if all 8% are truly undecided this close to election day.

I doubt it — they probablt just don;t want to be called racists by pollsters.

  • catherine

Uh huh. You forgot that the polls have also mentioned that at least 6% of those claiming to vote for Obama have no intention of doing so.

We’re still going to vote no matter how many times you falsely claim “it’s over”.

We already know the Obot tactic of trying to discourage the other side from casting their votes.
You did it to Hillary Clinton on the last primary falsely claiming that she had conceded.

Why the desperation? I guess now that the Feds are investigating ACORN you’re not going to be able to “register” all those new voters to make up for the 8+ million Clinton voters you’ve lost. Oh dear, what a shame and just think how many more you’re going to lose before Nov 4th.

  • Susan1968

    Texas Gal is right.

Those polls are weighted to include all the newly BOGUS registered Democratic voters who will not show up on election day.

And all those undecideds? I’m telling you they have decided — they just don’t want to be called racists.

  • lark

    U betcha.

  • catherine

It’s morons not “morans”. What’s wrong Obamaturd? Feeling buttsore because in less than 3 days McCain’s been able to cut Obama’s lead by half?
ACORN, Ayers are just the tip of the iceberg.

The Feds have confirmed Rezko’s singing like Callas
and there’s sooo much more that’s in store for Nobama. If McCain could cut Obama’s lead by at least 5 points in less than 3 days with just a teaser imagine all the damage he can inflict in 25 days. October is going to be a beautiful month. Did you know Wright’s book will be in bookstores across America on October 28th? Maybe that’s why Nobama’s bleeding money for his little infomercial on the 29th. Because that’s what candidates who “know” they’re going to win do, right? They just spend millions on a last ditch effort…lol.
You may want to try some Preparation H or something.

    PUMA!!!!

The Race Card would be obama’s NC headquarters putting out talking points telling surrogates to call Hillary and Bll racists. The Race Card would be jess jackson jr. Period. And a lot more. But if you were serious and didn’t just drop in from mars and really wanted to know what ‘the race card’ was you’d already know.

    Comment by jennyx | 2008-10-10 22:26:07

what exacty is the race card? and no, i don’t think it will get better; i think there is a serious threat on his life.

    **

Uh, dearie – that could work both ways. There are those who show absolute HATE for McCain and ESPECIALLY Palin; check out Huff Po and Taylor Marsh. These people are VILE. I ask you – what has Palin done to incite such hatred towards her? Is it because she CHOSE to give BIRTH to her mentally challenged child??? Or, is it because she is simply a republican, is smart, was a mayor, is now a governor, is PRETTY and has a good figure? Which is it?

  • hadenough

i thought the race card was played by the non-minority.

You thought wrong. I’m guessing not for the first time either.

    “you people” — that’s racist?? isn’t it?

The obamabutt-heads invade our space and then call us “you people” — sort of like you “white trash”.

Of course it could be the same Obamabutt living in his mother’s basement — the “you people” crack is probably all he can come up with. Not very creative — just like his messiah.

Sarah please keep kicking Obama’s ass!!

  • beebop

you can tell that McCain is taken aback by what you people are saying

You brought the “you people” comment here. Don’t expect not to see it back in your 0bamabott face little girl.

  • imustprotest

Get over yourself. That’s been the problem all along with Obamamaniacs…..and Obama/soretoro himself…..Arrogance…Obama is an empty suit, no experience, he has NO BUSINESS running for POTUS. He’s not inspirational! That’s a myth. He’s not even that bright. He’s like a box of corn flakes that’s been over marketed. We can’t afford a Barry Obama right now. We need a real leader. It should have been Hillary, but thank god, the Republicans chose McCain.

My parents, peers and educators made me.
    (it’s called human interaction)

Now why can’t Barry admit this, also?
    His parents(salt of the earth)
His peers(he has no peers, just ask him)
His educators(Ayers, Wright, Pfleger, Farrakhan, Alinsky, etc.)
    made him.

  • Brendy

jennyx – then watch FOX News for several days and come back and report to us if you found out anything about Obama that ‘disturbs’ you. You definitely won’t find negative or ‘disturbing’ news from ‘the one’ from the biased media who are in LOVE with him – CNN, NBC, ABC. ONLY Fox News protrays any negative stuff about Obama AND McCain.
