I think we got the message when this was posted earlier. There really is no place for this anywhere and especially on this website. Lets show more respect for every woman by refusing to show the pictures. Just flat out ban them. Its one thing to talk about them. It is another to continue to post them. I am offended by them and I think they should be removed immediately. I know they exist the same way I know there is evil in the world. I choose to rail against it and defeat it every chance I can.

I became so aware of sexism in the primaries and really thought deeply about the problem then, that I must confess….none of this bothers me much.

With all the documentation he has (emails, cell phone records, etc) linking Obama with Odinga, I would think that he could simply walk all that stuff into the FBI or the DOJ and plop it down on someones desk and ask to initiate an investigation. These were government email accounts (Obama’s and Lippert’s) for heaven’s sake. Aren’t they subject to the Freedom of Information Act?

It seems that it would be easy enough to investigate Obama’s and Lippert’s government email accounts and see if, they did, in fact, meddle in and/or raise money for Odinga in the Kenyan election. If it was a Republican senator taking “fact-finding” trips and campaigning for a foreign candidate, we would never hear the end of it. There probably would have been 5 or 6 Special Prosecutors appointed by now.

Now that we know the lack of intelligence and dignity of the followers, I think these should be sent to Axelrod by the RNC and the representative of their campaign should issue not only an apology but a statement that this won’t be tolerated by decent people. This sort of thing leaves people heart sick. Let’s get rid of it.

What the photos demonstrate is that a certain percentage of young people–usually young males–are total jackasses, who enjoy vulgar attention-getting displays.

I resent the assertion that such people are in any way representative of Obama supporters in general. This is much the same as asserting that the small percentage of hateful bigots present in McCain/Palin crowds are representative of McCain/Palin supporters in general.

Years ago, during a very heated argument with my wife, I learned the hard way what a powerful, derogatory word that slur is against women.
Looking at all of these photos, I get the impression that this latest, young generation of women who tolerate that word and actually revel in it without even getting remotely angry, must have very low self esteem or a sense of not having much personal worth, or no dignity.

Someone needs to put together a video with these images (and there are others) and include cable talking heads being misogynist and frames of print quotes from the misogynist print media. Not only is this disgusting and cruel and prejudiced (“sexist” doesn’t seem to have the same impact as “racist” so I think it is best to call it prejudice to make it clear) but this is the stuff that neutralizes the horror of rape and sexual abuse (which is so common in our society). It is parallel to the offensive words about blacks, back in the days when this country was filled with racial prejudice, that encouraged lynchings and violence. May I say something very UN-PC? If you measured the number of racial physical assaults in this country in the year 2007–people who were physically assaulted because of racial prejudice–with the amount of sexual assaults on women (this would include adult men molesting little girls), how do you think those numbers would stack up? Are sexual crimes the same as racial violence? In a sex crime, is the woman physically and psychologically tortured because she is a female and the attacker is trying to subjugate/oppress/overpower her? I would say so.

But then I started getting cc’d on their email exchanges. Especially one woman named Mary who continually discusses Palin. This woman is obsessed.
Regurgitating her belief that a woman with 5 kids serving as VP would be guilty of child neglect.

So now I have all these email addresses, right? And for all they know I’m an Obama supporter, right? Heh-heh.

I forward the “Palin is a C-word” pic to them and in the subject line I write: Obama supporters — do you agree? And I just paste the pic.

Half of them went ballistic. Highly insulted — “How dare you send me this! Take me off this email list!” The other half — no response (guess they do agree).

But get this — Mary-the-Obssessed responds to the email with yet another diatribe about Palin as a mother (and cc’s it to all the others).

I’m just seeding a little dissent among woman in the Obama Camp.

HIllary’s a professional, a team player, and a woman of her word. There is a world of difference between a self-loathing insecure young woman and a powerful politician with huge responsibilities.

I can accept that she made a mistake by saying that she would campaign for the winner. But then we must see it as that. She made a mistake by saying that she would campaign for the winner. Specially when she didn’t know all that much about the winner and what she knew about him did not amount to much either.

I think this issue is one of many that are advancing a future state of affairs as they have been portrayed in movies and other media, such as video games, etc. When we looked at those movies we never imagined that they would materialized and under what context. But those works of fiction and art, in these times of reconstruction, have the capacity to interact with cosmological ethereal influences to materialize as holograms would have the capacity to recreate a message. It has disturbed me that the young women and men of this era have a view of sex that seems more closely related to Hustler magazine than it does to love, intimacy and commitment. I was in grade school for the Summer of Love and starting high school when suburbia was swapping spouses and sex and drugs were on the agenda at Studio 54. I’m not a prim and proper prude. But at the same time, sex just for sex leaves me empty – I want emotional intimacy with it.

Many of the young adults don’t appear to connect emotion and intimacy to sex. Sex is for pleasure, lust and exploring their fantasies. I can’t see anything wrong with that. But it does seem like they’re missing out on the most pleasurable and gratifying part of sex, love and intimacy. Young adults who do connect intimacy and love with sex, see two different types of sex. There’s porn for fun, intimacy with a mate – the two are unrelated.

They use sex in ways I don’t understand nor would I ever want to. It’s a joke, it’s a weapon, it’s a game and possibly at some point, part of an intimate relationship.

I think we read too much into their t-shirts and posters. They want to offend. They know it will offend their elders. Quite frankly, what is left for them to offend their elders with? My five-year old daughter is a voracious reader now that she has learned to read…how the heck am I supposed to explain the “C-word” to her at this age? Come off it! Don’t be so disingenuous or naive to think that Obama would endorse such behaviour, much less “teach” it! Have you read what ex-law-students of his have written about him? Among other positive things, they have said that he was not only intellectually brilliant as a professor, but was also exceptionally balanced and fair in his assessments. You know, just because you believe or say something doesn’t mean that it’s true. You need to have an argument, and back your claims up with evidence, and present and assess that evidence in an impartial way. You haven’t even stated to do that.

I’m disappointed in Hillary even while believing I understand her actions…I think in part it’s because O has adopted her health plan (among other things).

The Democrats didn’t seem to care when such violent acts were committed by the Taliban in the 1990s, saying that forcing professional women to leave their jobs, forcing them to wear burkas and stoning them when they wouldn’t, in addition to rounding up women and killing them, because it was a “cultural issue”. So what would cause them to act now?

I would also like to note that I completely disaffiliated myself after 20 years for being an active member from NOW, NARAL, and Planned Parenthood for supporting Obama when Hillary wasn’t even out of the nomination contention yet. Obama has thrown all of these groups under the bus, and they still support him.

I read the article and as I suspected it is nothing more than another poorly researched, sycophantic puff piece to glorify the exalted One. Your comment made it sound as though ex-students were coming out of the woodwork to praise the new savior. Only three students were mentioned, only two by name; Dan Johnson-Weinberg, and Richard Hess. DJW is actively campaigning for Obama so you can’t really consider anything he says as an objective assessment of Obama. A google search for Richard Hess supplied too many names to research, but his comments were on par with the type of recommendation one might get from the boss when changing jobs. What I would really like to see is a testement from a character witness that intimately knew, or knows Obama who isn’t in his campaign, isn’t an unrepentent terrorist, isn’t a corrupt politician, isn’t a communist, and isn’t a co-dependant to Obama’s pathological Narcissism. But that eliminates everyone he knows. The only assessment of Obama that could be useful is a full psychological work-up from an independent psychologist.

I doubt such a work up would garner encouraging (to you) results regarding McCain, given his temper, etc.! Obama’s intellectual brilliance is self-evident from his record as a student and professor. As to his “exceptional balance”, Hess’s comment in the article that “it was drilled into us from Day 1 that you examined your biases and inclinations. And then, when you made decisions, they were based on sound empirical reasons” clearly implies such balanced judgment. You may not trust the source of that assessment (i.e., Hess). That’s fine. But your suggestion that we apply the properties of being “transendent” [sic] and “omnipotent” to Obama is just silly! Nothing is omnipotent. “Trancendent” doesn’t even have a clear meaning. Nothing I said would suggest that I think these are qualities of Obama. You may be good at rhetoric, but what you say is unreasonable.

Whether he has published in the HLR is beside the point. Of course, if you would prefer a president who has published in that journal, then it is quite likely that I will agree to him or her being POTUS. The point is this: in a forced choice situation between Obama and McCain, Obama is the more intelligent, as is evidenced by his having even been the president of the HLR. McCain has no such credentials; quite the opposite.

The failure of the Bush administration is in large part to blame for the global economic meltdown. People I know in the UK and elsewhere have been affected by this. If the POTUS also holds the title of “leader of the free world”, then I think that it is fair to allow someone from the UK to have his or her say. They did not use those words, so you are guilty of misrepresenting and distorting statements. If those were your interpretations of what the students said then you should have said so. It is pretty self-evident that, in comparison to most people, including most politicians, someone’s being a professor of constitutional law is good evidence that he or she has some serious intellectual goods going on. The students did not use exactly the words I used to describe Obama. Perhaps I ought to have been clearer about that. I just didn’t think of it at the time, and I was responding to you in a (perhaps too) casual and informal way.

As regards the charge of Obama’s narcissism: I am not in a position to judge whether it is justified or not. It doesn’t look to me that he is narcissistic. But that doesn’t count for much, of course. In a way, I take it that this is your point too. “Transcendent” is supposed to mean something like “beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience”, or “existing apart from and not subject to the limitations of the material universe”. But that is a concept something like that of a round square. We can say what a round square is supposed to be: it’s an equiangular, equilateral, rectilinear, quadrilateral closed plane figure every point on the periphery of which is equidistant from a single point within its periphery. So we can specify the content of the notion of a round square, but only insofar as to be able to see that it is incoherent, i.e., contradictory. After all, meaningfulness is a necessary condition of contradictoriness. Similarly, the notion of something not subject to the limitations of the physical universe (which is, of course, all that there is) is just incoherent.

Many detractors of Obama disparage him as being “socialist”, implying that he is too left-wing. Now, according to you, he is the Führer, implying that he is too right-wing. But you can’t have it both ways! Just ‘fess up now — you simply don’t like him; that’s all!
