Thread #2 – Post-Debate Analyses

I’ll close the first post-debate thread soon to keep the servers from overloading.

GREAT DISCUSSION by all of you! We have some really thoughtful, insightful people here. I’m glad you come here to share impressions and opinions.

Someone posted, “I saw a different McCain tonight.” That is very true. And our nation so desperately needs his experience in life, in the military, in government. Obama just uses his positions as stepping stones; he barely spent any time in the U.S. Senate and failed to do the jobs he had there. Joe Wilson accused Obama of “dereliction of duty” for not once convening a hearing of the European affairs and NATO subcommittee Obama chaired. Nor did Obama ever once visit NATO headquarters, any European capitals (except London on a stopover), or meet with any European leaders. How he can get away with not doing his job is beyond me.

(It’s like that $50 million Chicago Annenberg Challenge he chaired after Bill Ayers hired him. That $50 million went NOWHERE. Obama failed to fix anything in the Chicago school system. Barack Obama is a more of an abject failure than George W. Bush was when he became president, and that’s saying a lot.)

Oh boy. I get on a tear because it drives me crazy that the MSM isn’t tearing down the facade that is Barack Obama.

Your turn.

  • 30yrdem-not any more

My eyes tear almost every day when I see how the media is lying to the people and covering for Obama. We will all pay for their lies.

  • Artemis

I guess I’m just too biased to see what all those brilliant pundits saw…but I saw John McCain win this debate – hands down. Obama looked defensive at times and ridiculous at other times when he laughed a little too frequently as his record was being addressed (exposed) by McCain. The media makes me sick. Hopefully, the American people will sort the wheat from the chaff. McCain-Palin 08!

  • AnninCA

I think McCain drew proper attention to the issue of Obama’s eloquence.

Frankly, a lot of people aren’t thinking about what Obama is saying. It’s image management stuff.

He’s got the image, no question.

    Do his solutions make sense?

He uses so many words, too. I’m always very anxious around people who cannot just cut to the chase. That’s manipulation.

  • http://firefox McAnnie Carmel Baracuda

It doesn’t matter who was on the board with Obama and Ayers. They are not running for POTUS.

  • Ginger

Obama makes me nuts. I just can’t, with him, any more. he makes me want to tear out hair and gnash teeth. Why bother to debate a liar in the first place. Every word Obama says is a lie, pre-constructed and pre-approved. It makes me crazy.

  • Ginger

It matters when it comes to whether or not he can even form a truthful sentence at all. I doubt the ability to truth tell is even a skill he wants to develop.

  • http://firefox McAnnie Carmel Baracuda

Yes indeed. I just had to hit the mute from time to time. I want to fall asleep when he goes on and on and on about nothing.
Mac the clear winner tonight. Interested in what Greta will say.

  • Leigh39

I thought McCain did very well, energetic, aggressive when needed. He hit a lot of good points. Obama did as usual, deflect, and lie through his teeth. With regard to the discussion of children with special needs, I have a child with autism. The last person I want in charge of the dept. of education is that unqualified narcissist, and total fraud, Obama.

  • AF catfish

Yes McCain said “OBama is so eloquent you need to carefully review what he actually says.” He said it a few times, very effective!

Casts doubt and frankly, I think many people don’t listen to what O says they just hear his voice and think he’s smart.

  • TeakWoodKite

So, you got your wish. McCain did what you wanted him to do.

That worked well, didn’t it? :-P

I enjoyed McCain’s derision of the “health” of the mother when discussing abortion. THAT will net him tons of women voters, I’m sure.

Is this obvious disrespect for women the reason you supposed “ex-Hillary voters” want this prick? Take it from me, an ACTUAL Clinton supporter in the primary — Bull Shit.

I can’t wait for the election results!

I’ll be back then, to enjoy your hysterics.
I know, I said that I wouldn’t post again, but couldn’t help one more out of pure schadenfreude. Good luck, ya nutbars. Until then… I leave you to your gnashing and wailing. mccain4life! :-)

Major League Baseball Agrees to Fox’s Request to Delay Game 6 of World Series 15 Minutes to Air Obama TV Ad

In order to accommodate the half-hour TV ad Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., purchased for Wednesday October 29, Fox has requested and received permission to delay the 6th game of the World Series by 15 minutes.

The Hollywood Reporter and the Los Angeles Times report that Major League Baseball today granted Fox’s request to delay the start of the game from 8:20 pm ET to 8:35 pm ET.

Fox will collect an estimated $1 million in ad revenue. CBS and NBC have also agreed to run the 30-minute campaign ad.

    What the FUCK

  • http://investigatebarackobama.blogspot.com/ kat in your hat

McCain did great. He was trying to touch the moderates, independents, Hillary supporters–Pumas…the people who will decide this election.

McCain was fantastic. Brought up the points I wanted brought up (anything more would have been a bonus). McCain calmed me down about his judge choices. He came across as reasonable.

I am not George Bush–in Obama’s face– was cool.

  • Artemis

Andrew – do what I do– stay focused on the voices here at NQ. They have been a lifeline to me during the media’s coronation of B.O.
The American people were watching the same debate we were, and that gives me real hope.

  • http://firefox McAnnie Carmel Baracuda

Murdoch better listen to the voters who are watching Fox and sending text messages. Geraldine (she can go home now) says she doesn’t agree with all the young text message people. Thanks Gerry but I’m not much younger than you…though I look better.

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

I put a huge box in front of my TV covering The Precious’s face for some of the debate. I also muted him a lot. I can’t stand to look at or listen to his evil ass any longer.

  • Jason

Does anyone else hate Colmes as much as I do? I hate the way he sneaks his inadequate little comebacks in and then immediately changes the subject by saying “but look……”

In other words – “here’s my sniveling little answer and we’ll move on swiftly because I don’t want you to question what I said.”

Dick Morris on Fox next. Good – he’s usually honest about McCain’s good points.

Despite what the blowhards on Fox said tonight against McCain, I think that those undecideds who turned off their TV immediately after the end of the debate thought that McCain won. How could you not? Those who stayed tuned to FOX would have seen the pretentious, waffling Kristol and SauerKrauthammer doing their best to score journalism points by rubbishing McCain, and would have become disheartened and tempted to rethink what they just saw. It really brought me down – I was so excited by McCain’s performance tonight and it was just disgusting to see commentators who should be doing their best to prevent a socialist revolution shine Obama’s shoes. What the hell were they thinking?

If anyone follows my comments over time, you know I’m somewhat critical of John McCain. In general I think he’s a weak politician (though he’s a great American)

I’m not going to quibble… John McCain bowled a perfect 300.

Finally he did the crucial thing… make the case why Obama’s negatives are relevant. So many times in the past the negatives would be exposed but failed to go the extra step of showing why that mattered.

he was perfect tonight in making his arguments go that extra step

Obama proved himself to be a shallow, arrogant, liar (not that anyone needs any more proof)

McCain needs to keep focusing on a clear, relevant economic arguments.

From here until the big day, he needs to stress the critical nature of the federal budget and what he plans to do to restore it to balance immediately.

And he needs to keep Obama obligated to explain his AntiAmerican behavior and affiliations.

And lastly… when you can’t even get the gang of selfimporant pundits on Fox to say McCain won.. McCain needs to realize that he must continue to be concerned about the opinion of the American people ONLY.. and not give a rat’s ass about what the corrupt Media-Government Complex in NYC and DC think.

  • http://firefox McAnnie Carmel Baracuda

    Well, you are creative!

For me the best part was Senator Obama I am not G,Bush if you wanted to run against Bush you should of done so four year ago. lol

Man did Mc Cain tell him off with that line, what a zinger that was, that will sure put to rest any idea that Mc Cain is Bush lol

  • ohio

Actually, it did well in my household tonight. 4 undecideds at our debate party tonight, all for McCain. 6 more democrats signed up to phone for McCain today. Yep, Mac’s doing fine. More kool-aid?

  • RJ

Of course the talking heads are scoring this as a win for BO but personally, I believe McCain CLEARLY won this debate. McCain was more knowledgeable, showed leadership and had BO on the defensive. To BO’s credit, he’s a better debater now than when Hillary cleaned his clock back in the dem primary debates.

    We will remember in November!

obama: I was 8 wneh ayers was bombing

    Strawman alert!

We don’t give a dman what obama did when he was 8. We want to know why, when obama was an adult he thought it was OK to have unrepentant terrorist ayers host obama’s political coming out party. And ayers didn’t just wake up one day and say hey I think I’ll host a political coming out party for some guy I know nothing about and I’m sure that the guy who knows nothing about me will be happy about it.

It’s about the choices obama made as an adult. Obama chose to hang with ayers. Then obama chose to lie about it. Rinse and repeat with rezko and rev wright.

  • lark

Yes, the future may be brighter for those in the media that is in front today, but not for the future of our children. They will be told what to do and told not to think, the government has already thought for you. That was one of Castro’s worse legacy that he did not allowed people to think anymore, that people had to accept what is coming from above.

  • rw

It is obvious our media is as Hollywoodized as, well, Hollywood and Madison Avenue. Post debate analysis was about image portrayed, style, and little about substantive answers.

  • Donna

My favorite freudian slip was when McCain said “Senator Government”.

  • AnninCA

On the contrary side, I do think McCain has had trouble putting things into terms for today. Joe the Plumber was stupid.

Obama turns his attempts to relate to people, real people, into mush.

The Republicans, and their campaign, are out of touch.

That’s the issue. McCain has the right answers, frankly. Not Obama. But he’s not connecting in a way that is convincing to real people.

He’s got some strategists that are over-playing the populism, and not enough who know what middle, smart people are thinking.

  • HARP

Admit it, you are a Socialist

  • http://www.anvp.typepad.com soldier4hillary

Hmmmm….maybe I was watching a different debate. McCain tapped that as$ three ways from Sunday. He was better on the economy than Senator Obama. The shocked facial expressions is what let me know that Obama’s ass was lying. The normal things that lets Gov Palins “joe sixpacks” and Senator McCain “joe the plumbers” know that the individual sitting beside him is lying his ass off. I didnt need to “fact check” because President McCain let me know that the fool sitting beside him is lying and wouldnt know the truth if it slapped him in the face.

I betcha loved Senator Obama’s eloquent explanation for Ayers. Yep. What did McCain say? hmmm;;; “I dont care about some washed up terrorist”. And then Obama, bless his lil ol heart looked into that camera and explained to the American people his relationship with Ayers. Sounded really really good.

But the thing is, McCain got what he wanted. To make a statement saying Ayers as “Terrorist”. And then have bambi going in and explaining. The POINT to be made is that Ayers and Obama were linked, and the word terrorist was not denied and used in a sentence. Now those undecided independents have the facts. Sooooo the moral of the story is the only thing you remember is that Senator Obama explained his innocent relationship with a terrorist.

So for the “depression debate trolls” out there McCain won Obama lost, get bent.

  • Andrew

I don’t know why my early post was deleted. Anyway, I merely said that I am sad that McCain did so well and then got trashed by the media. Obama was obnoxious and disgusting. Our country is truly in trouble!

I would have liked to see McCain look at Obama during one of his exchanges and say “You can laugh all you want, but this is not a laughing matter” or something to the effect that the American People don’t view this as a laughing matter.
    Obama lies with extreme joy.
One thing that I never heard anyone talk about is this: When Obama spoke at some towns and continued to make the statement that “They are gonna say i dont look like the other Presidents, that I can’t be trusted”. This is straight out of a sexual preditor handbook. Get close to your victim and then re-assure them that you are not what they suspect you are. Confort them and stress that you are ok, and can be trusted.

Obama Attacks Fox News in N.Y. Times Magazine

    Wednesday, October 15, 2008 5:57 PM

By: Jim Meyers Article Font Size

“I am convinced that if there were no Fox News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls,” Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama told New York Times Magazine.

In an interview with Matt Bai that will run this coming weekend, Obama complained about Fox News’ coverage of his campaign.

“If I were watching Fox News, I wouldn’t vote for me, right?” he said.

“Because the way I’m portrayed 24/7 is as a freak. I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?

“I guess the point I’m making,” he went on, “is that there is an entire industry now, an entire apparatus, designed to perpetuate this cultural schism, and it’s powerful.”

Obama also said, referring to newsmen at Fox News and MSNBC: “If voters are … polarized and if they’re seeing two different realities, a Sean Hannity reality and a Keith Olbermann reality, then we’re not going to be able to get done the work we need to get done.”

    —————————————————-
obama wants to silence anyone with an opposing opinion. this is a very telling sign that american citizens right to free speech is at stake if he is elected

  • 30yrdem-not any more

I can’t stand to listen to any dems anymore because they had a whole different story a few months back. McCain didn’t nor did his supporters.

  • NCgirl

Colmes looks like a lizard to me.

  • AF catfish

Awesome! That will piss people off.

Remember SNL did a skit of (President) Gore postponing the Superbowl for a boring science lecture.

  • Artemis

I loved it when McCain pointed out that B.O. has never visited “our neighbors to the south” – but wants to sit down with Chavez. Obama brought up human rights’ violations in Colombia, saying something about how they cannot be ignored…but human rights’ violations under Saddam Hussein – those could be ignored, I guess. Obama’s ‘logic’ makes me dizzy.

  • athy

    McCain was excellent.

Seb McCain opened up the door a little wider for truth to peep its head through.

Now, more public discourse can take place on Acorn, Fannie Mae & Freddie mac, Ayers, Partial Birth Abortion ban etc….

We need to continue to investigate, get the truth out, get out the voters AND…

VERY IMPORTANT….protect our voting process including registration, casting votes, and counting votes.

  • AnninCA

I only speak for me. I’m done with the entire abortion issue. Done, done, toasted.

I think it’s time we decide to compromise on this or else.

If I never hear another discussion about this, it’ll be none too soon.

Reverse Roe versus Wade at this point, as far as I’m concerned.

    I’m serious.

I’m so done with that issue that when I heard Obama use it as a scare tactic, bile came up.

    Over. It’s over.

We are absolutely not going to continue this cultural war over abortion. Frankly, if any woman today cannot manage her own reproductive cycle, then we are talking about an rescue/enabling deal.

    Enough already.

  • John House

I wanted to comment on someone else’s comment on the previous thread about McCain being on the hook for the “Kill him!” comment but when Barry was about to be held responsible for the “SARAH PALIN IS A CUNT” t-shirts the objections flew.

    1) It was a Sarah Palin rally and she was talking about Bill Ayers when the ass in the crowd said “Kill him!”–thus, the ass in the crowd meant Kill Bill, not Kill Obama. Obama trying to push this meme is disgutingly deceitful.

    2) NOBama NEVER wants to be held to anything his surrogates do, so did you notice how he completely avoided the question about John Lewis at first? McCain had to bring up that he heard no repudiation and even when Obama “did so”, he didn’t go so far as to repudiate John Lewis’s disgusting race baiting.

  • lark

But Obama was eloquent. He gave people what they were looking for. He gave them government all over the place. Offered more and more and more. And that’s why he talked and talked and talked. People like that. They like for the candidate to say, ‘I have the solution to your problems, follow me.’

McCain was extremely good unwrapping Obama’s bluff that more government is better. Why? Because McCain showed that ‘CHOICE’ is more important to him and should be to them. It is to me.

But a very large number of people don’t want choice, they want ready made solutions.

  • NCgirl

I agree soldier4hillary. I think McCain got some really good ones in. The MSM will give this one to Obama just like the others, but I think Mac won this one.

  • AF catfish

Joe the Plumber was good b/c people will remember it.

Also, AP tracked down Joe the Plumber and he likes McCain’s plan.

  • John House

“Because the way I’m portrayed 24/7 is as a freak. I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?

…Did he really say that? Did he really just use a shitload of stereotypes?

  • KB

Couric just had a phone call with Joe the Plumber. He said he was still undecided but was pretty sure who he was going to vote for but that it was a private matter between him and the voting lever. Then he went on to say that he thought McCain did very well tonight and Obama, unfortunately…that’s when Katie cut him off and said they were out of time and they would have to continue the conversation on the web. It appears they hadn’t scripted Joe properly to endorse Barry as the winner. His potential assessment of McCain as the winner and Barry, well Barry uses lots of words but really says nothing, didn’t fit their model.

  • rw

It’s a question of bad judgment.

  • lark

He lies and then he lies that he lied.

  • standard

    McCain won, hands down.

But I have always felt the Ayers thing to be weak.

I think McCain should’ve asked Obama why his staffer told Canada

    I think that would’ve hit a nerve.

His plan is not one whit different. It’ll just be paid for more directly.

  • http://firefox McAnnie Carmel Baracuda

Jeremiah, I’ll finish reading it later…interesting for sure.

“If your boss mocks McCain supporters, if all your co-workers express a desire to for Palin to be raped on national TV, if your family are all Obama volunteers, if the media tries to shame everybody into voting for Obama by stating implicitly and explicitly that only a racist would do otherwise, could you have the nerve to come out of the closet as a McCain voter?”

Good one. Especially because so many of the posters here have lost friends for standing for what they believe. It has gotten a little old though and I won’t take any more abuse for being truthful. So if Obamamaniacs call, I’ll tell them what they like to hear. However, I’ve already voted for Mac and Sarah.

All McCain was pointing is that ‘health of the mother’ is used to lie about the reason to accept and go through the procedure. The issue is ‘lying.’ McCain is not necessarily against abortion if one can be honest about the reason for the abortion. Because once an honest answer is given then one can consider the alternatives and the options.

Honesty = Alternate considerations and options.

Dishonesty = One single solution – Abortion.

  • AnninCA

All the advance talk about a “game-changer” or a “knockout punch” was just wishful thinking by McCain supporters or the Obama camp’s setting expectations so high for McCain that he would be perceived as having not done what he needed to do tonight. All he needed to do was keep moving the ball down the field. And he clearly did that. McCain was strong. But he missed several opportunities. He needed to connect the dots from Obama to Acorn to Fannie Mae to Freddie Mac to Chris Dodd to Barney Frank to the Financial Crisis. These guys caused this problem. America can’t afford to allow these these guys to fix it.

On Education, a fumble. Nice stuff on vouchers. But this was the place to nail Obama on 50 million dollars plus wasted on radical education programs at the Annenberg Challenge. If only we had heard, “Senator Obama, it’s your only executive experience yet you never mention it. Surely, if it were a big success, you would have claimed credit for it.”

There were other opportunities and for the life of me I don’t understand why he didn’t take advantage of them. Overall, though, I’m happy with his performance. There’s a chance that Joe the Plumber will be the new metaphor for the McCain campaign.

I sure hope there’s something else they’re holding back. I’d love to know what the strategy is. But he’s only 3-5 points down, the gap has closed.

Forget the polls. If they were accurate, McCain would be running against Al Gore’s vice president.

    Go McCain

  • beverly leslie

Why does everyone say barky is a smooth talker and eloquent? He was back in true form tonight, stuttering and talking in circles. Mccain had him on the ropes but didn’t knock him out. Barky lied alot tonight. Not just small lies but huge lies. Partial birth abortion, Acorn, Bill Ayers. He also fully switched over to Hillary’s (who I’m sick of) health care plan and he lied about not penalizing joe the plumber. These are huge lies and this is what we should be talking about. Not his supposed smooth talking. Smooth means no bumps, he speech is bumpy, disconnected and very bumpy, not smooth.

  • AF catfish

Yes Andrew, seriously McCain did just enough to keep the race going. Read this – gay African American reporter from Washington Post says McCain definitely still has a shot, in a good way.

    The Comeback?

There I was, standing in the press risers at Xcel Center, praying for the end of John McCain’s stilted acceptance speech. An address that ate up just six printed pages but felt like an eternity. Yet something happened in the last 50 seconds. A switch seemed to flip, and the droning oratory gave way to a fiery call to “stand up and fight!” The delegates erupted in a roar of approval that sustained McCain until the end.

It was an effective message then, and it’s wise for the McCain camp to resurrect it now.

The raw campaigning at McCain-Palin rallies last week unleashed an anger and ugliness that severely damaged McCain’s reputation. The “fight” mantra he reprised this Monday is a much more focused and effective way to tap into the anger — not just in the Republican Party but also in the rest of the country — about the war, the economy and the uncertain future facing American families …

Did everyone catch the comments of the first voter? He said that Obama won the debate but he would be voting for McCain because he doesn’t trust Obama.

Another blogger said this earlier, this is a silent election. Voters are saying one thing publicly but will be voting for McCain on Nov. 4.

One more thing – after the second debate, on CNN’s focus group, they all said Obama won but they were planning to vote for McCain. The “trust” factor is important in this election.

  • SnarlingCur

I caught that too, and laughed my butt off! :)

Here’s what I want John McCain to say to Obama. I want him to look him in the eye and say “I don’t give a damn how old you were when Ayers committed those heinous acts. I question YOUR judgement for associating with a domestic terrorist who committed “despicable” acts when you were just 8 years old.”

    - That’s amazing isn’t it? If that was McCain or Palin or Hillary Clinton, the press would say that they are unfit, not ready to lead, etc.

I also think the “I’m not President Bush, if you wanted to run against him you should have ran 4 years ago” was an instant classic.

Looking directly into the camera and talking to Joe the Plumber was really effective.

I’m waiting for the morning talk show interviews with him, lol

McCain nailed him all night. McCain used Joe the plumber to perfection. Look at the video of Joe. He is an averrage american. Working his ass off and Obama calls him rich because he makes a wee-bit over 250,000. Joe looks like a plain old guy in plain old clothes.
Senator Government is the new rally cry.
Obama said all night long over and over how he will have Government do everything.
McCain set up for the closing stretch. Taxes and spending will win it for him.
His line about Herbert Hoover was good. Last time a president did what obama proposes in our economic climate we tanked into the great depression.

I lost all respect for Geraldine when she decided to throw her support towards Obambi after his campaign accused her of being racist.

Lots of good lines for McCain tonigh but maybe the best was his slip of the tongue calling B.O. Senator Government!

Yep, because the question of whether he was a terrorist was undisputed. Obama had a chance to come clean. McCain “buttonholed” Obama about Ayers. Obama left a lot out. A lot I have seen myself since the Google 2001 index became exposed. The super-predator conference is one. The Sidley & Austin relationship between Michelle, Bernadine and Barack dating way back… but after Barack was eight and old enough to know better. Obama painted himself into a corner. Now he can be exposed as untruthful. Poor judgement is an interpreted call. Truthfulness is more black and white an issue.

Was I watching another debate? I must have. I must be in an alternative universe. The debate I saw featured Obama getting caught in bunches of lies. I saw Obama getting that evil smirk on. I saw Obama do terribly. If I had seen McCain fumble, I would say so, but I saw McCain do well. I don’t understand. These polls must question people from different galaxies.

  • nationalert

    Indeed,

If you follow the polls eg. Rasmussen, Gallup on trust parameters, McCain is always ahead (with little exception). This is particularily true in battleground states.

Yes, I agree, this election more than others, trust will define the outcome. It is the single most defining aspect of any relationship.

  • Tristan

I have to say that I think McCain missed a lot of opportunities. I didn’t hear enough about Frank, Dodd, Pelosi, Ayers, Rezko, Fannie Mae, etc. There wasn’t anything about the “95% tax cut” fraud where people who don’t work or pay taxes get checks in the mail. But I did like the “spread the wealth” stuff, but I hope it didn’t backfire with greedy or fearful Americans who think that they’re in line for some of those ill-gotten gains.

In the end I think that America is a little too smart to vote for Obama and McCain will come out on top.

  • beverly leslie

I thought he could have “knocked him out” by looking straight at him regarding Ayers and connect the dots with Acorn & the Annenberg challenge, the money and how it was used for radical educationl purposes. If the dots aren’t connected for people, it won’t matter and I think it would have really knocked barky off balance and with his stuttering, eventually something stupid would have come out of his mouth. You could see backtrack was on the ledge of blowing up, he just needed the push and Mccain didn’t provide it.

I think Mccain did a good job, but didn’t call him out enough on all the lies he was spewing. That’s the thing about backtrack, if you let him lie, he will, and if you don’t call him on it, the media won’t, therefore he’ll get away with the lie.

  • Lizzie Struthers

What was even MORE disgusting is that the damned pro-Obama moderator let it slide – he wouldn’t let McCain finish about the t-shirts. That’s mean and biased – Obama got HIS chances but of course McCain was just swept off. I just cannot believe how Obama is being SO protected…

  • Mr.Murder

McCain fumbled on ACORN, he should have tied it into the “community organizer” claim because it is a phrase Obama uses repeatedly. Face to face and he fumbled it.

Then it could suggest more to Obama’s original narrative. One that took short cuts to taking the party nomination, etc.

He could not find the words. Not sharp enough. Dare one to call either of them obtuse?

  • Lizzie Struthers

McCain would do well to use “joe the plumber” as a running theme for the rest of his campaign.

It is brilliant example of the contrast between the American dream vs. Obama’s socialist chant of “spreading the wealth around”. This will hurt Obama big time.

Yes, McCain has some trouble finishing a thought. That is true, but he was very good tonight, not finishing his thoughts but putting the words out. He did traded in ‘words.’ And that’s what connects with a lot of young people. Obama was not able to connect with ‘words’ and was more generative, adding concept upon concept and creating a difficult tower to climb.

So Obama lost by putting more on the table. Although a lot of people like that. McCain did well by unwrapping Obama. That is more important. McCain unwrapped Obama’s policies and made them more clear. BIG GOVERNMENT.

Drudge which is conservative has McCain winning 75% to 25%

Another quote from the Jeremiah recommended essay on Zombietime:

“Will the exaggerations become a self-fulfilling prophecy, as assumed, or are Obama supporters spinning further and further away from reality, constructing one unsupportable exaggeration on top of another — only to be stunned on election day when the actual results, once again, don’t match either their pre-vote opinion polling or their post-vote exit polling?”

“Yet it may very well be that an army of glum, dispirited and pessimistic conservatives will reluctantly trudge to the polls on November 4, each one imagining they are the only remaining person in the entire country voting for McCain, and lo and behold — they’ll turn out to be a silent majority after all.”

I believe the silent majority will win again.

  • McHope

Someone should ask about Obama’s support, campaigning, and contributions to Odinga.

An interjection here. According to that expert Bill Clinton all elections are going to be close. He sees a general 45%-45% for both sides with essentially 10% undecided. 1. Obama campaign announces some major endorsement
    2. Obama campaign announces they raised 200 million dollars
    3. Obama campaign announces every single Clinton supporter now support him because they personally called him and told him so.
    4. Obama campaign (CNN) announces they are moving ALL the red states in McCains column to Obama’s because we “yearn” for Dear Leader
    5. They bring out Senator Clinton every five minutes to say Obama’s name from now until the election as a message to people like moi, who will always support her but chooses to ignore her when it comes to bambi.

    Agreed.
The debate is over the 527’s will be unleashed and ads will capitalize on the uncertainties surrounding the unqualified candidate from Illinois.

This is so familiar. As a former democrat I used to be pretty hopeful at this time of the election cycle. Usually whoever the democratic candidate was (fill in the blank – Mondale, Dukakis, Kerry…)was ahead in the polls and they often “won” most if not all of the debates.
Once the last debate was over I was so SURE that this year was different, that the odds were so insurmountable in our favor that that was NO WAY the republicans would win again.

And then the last 2 weeks of the campaign began and the real torpedos would be launched.
    Mission accomplished for the repubs.

I would wake up on Nov 5th wondering what the Hell happened?

Now its the Obots turn and for once I am on the other side.

CNN was hit by the DailyKos. They advertised their plan to hit all of the internet polls. I just don’t understand who they are calling in these phone polls. Drug users? I agree that the Annenberg Challenge Radical Education agenda would have been a great point to raise, but McCain did follow through with the Ayers ACRON punch. Obama denied as much as he could regarding his connections to both and then McCain artfully pointed out that he gave money with the terrorist he doesn’t know to the voter fraud organization he’s not affiliated with.

There are many more birth control options available today, and they’re more reliable than the options were decades ago. Sex education is common enough that “Oh, I didn’t know that would happen if we did that,” is no longer a very credible excuse. A responsible woman can make a variety of different choices that GREATLY reduce the need for abortion, including emergency contraception after the fact if protection fails.

Irresponsible women? Well, I guess they better make their choices wisely when they vote, because I won’t be worrying about them when I’m in the voting booth.

No, I thought kind of the same…was beginning to wonder if I’m turning paranoid….thanks for making feel normal again.

    Thanks.

    Great for all of you!!!
Glad to hear that you and fellow (former…who cares right??) democrats are converted.
So are we. We are so honored and proud to support someone with integrity, experience and honorable as McCain/Palin 08 and so is our whole family!!!
He (McCain) was great and we finally heard obama with a loss for words….ah..ah..dah..dah..yeah what John said!
Fortunately, the moderator posed the questions and McCain did not have to bring Ayers up. Everything unfolded very nicely.
On the thought of Acorn, we had noticed that in some of those states a Democrat was the one who had reported the problem and we were thinking that it spoke volumes. Can it be that although they are Democrats, they could go into the voting booth and vote for McCain? Has anyone thought about that? For someone who is a Senator, Congressman..woman, in any public office, is it possible that even though they are Democrats they are and will vote for a Republican?
How about President Clinton and Senator Clinton?
    NO ONE KNOWS.

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

I recall Rudy Giuliani was inferring they got the goods on Opampers. Opampers knows he is in for a very rough ride. This might be what you observed.

  • Jules

He uses so many words, too. I’m always very anxious around people who cannot just cut to the chase. That’s manipulation

It’s a lot harder to lie when you just cut to the chase.

  • Lizzie Struthers

I just watched some of this at AP. And I don’t know but to me it looked like Obama carried the day. And that of course scares me. ‘We need to move in a new direction.’ That’s what people are going to use to summarise it. Who’s Obama? Who’s McCain? Bush economics don’t work; who cares about these candidates? They won’t look any closer.

Can you imagine how good Obama would look if:

    - He didn’t deliberately derail Hillary?
    - He had just one (just one) decent human being friend who could vouch for him?

Americans show more discretion when buying a new automobile than they do when voting for a president. And that’s very troubling.

  • http://www.anvp.typepad.com soldier4hillary

I wonder how Senator Government feels right now? God that name fits him to the T. McCain… imaginary hi five! Now everytime Obama talks about government spending, how bad the government is, what the government will do, yada yada ya, its like he is talking about himself. Fuc$ing Priceless. Obama’s only claim to fame was linking Bush and Mccain. McCain shut that shit down. Obama LOVES to get out on the stump and talk about how “bad” the government is by focusing on the last eight years, when HE has more in common with Bush.

Not only did they shut down the “there the same” theme, but his whole “the government is bad” when he IS what he says he is against. Damn he has nothing left. bwahhhhhhhaaaaa

Whoever came up with that on the McCain team or if it was all Mccain: brilliant.

  • Andrew

Not to be mean but it is a pet peeve of mine. The word you were looking for is “implying”. A person “infers” what someone else “implies.” You inferred that Giuliani implied that he had the goods on Opampers.

  • Brendy

Andrew – I’m sad to say that so many people want a DEMOCRAT to win – that they are willing to vote for ANY democrat, even someone who is as unqualified and quite possibly RISKY as Obama is. Hard to believe that some people are risking the failure of our country and their own livelihoods just for the sake of a ‘party’.

  • Lizzie Struthers

Yes. This thing he keeps repeating: ‘that’s not true, that’s not true’. Well heck I know some of that stuff is true! I know it! How dare he lie like that? Is that all that empty suit has to come with?

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

No problemo, we are all on the same team. I am trying to keep the PUMAs and GOP focused on the shared very important goal of electing Mac. Issues that divide us obviously don’t help. Urinating contests can resume on November 5 I suppose.

When you hear things like: “That’s just not true” or “I want to be perfectly clear” or “The fact is” you know that the stuff that follows is a lie. (Can anyone say Nixon? I knew you could!) And just how many times have we heard those lines coming from Mr. Eloquent?

  • Bellevue_NW_Voter The Renter

And he needs to keep Obama obligated to explain his AntiAmerican behavior and affiliations.

Regarding this and the Obama camp’s complaints about Mc’s negative ads, can’t the Mc camp respond by saying, “If the bad judgment shown by Senator Obama in engaging in relationships with questionable individuals for the sake of his career wasn’t an indicator of the kind of judgment he’d bring to the Presidency, we wouldn’t be talking about it. Don’t blame us for his bad choices. If he didn’t want to be judged on those decisions later, he should have made different choices.”

  • lark

Things will be alright. What will be a problem is the question of ‘choosing.’ The way we are going your choices for your life’s career and other important issues are moving in the direction of being chose for you. All I want is to prevent the government from controlling the means of production so that you can choose them for yourself.

  • Lizzie Struthers

Yes that’s part of the little I caught of the debate. He kept saying that. And we all know it’s true. That made me do a double-take. That’s what he does: keep saying ‘not true, not true, not true’ and then launches into a comfy speech with his cautious baritone. Oh people!

  • Brendy

I read on a pro-Obama site tonight where one of the posters claimed “just by looking at both of the couples at the end of the debate tonight should be enough for people to decide WHO should become the nex president”. I thought I would flip out of my chair when I read that. I surely hope that poster wasn’t comparing MEchelle against Cindy. If so, THAT poster definitely needs glasses AND A BRAIN. LOL!

  • miriam

I’ve said it before…if debates were an important ingredient in who will win an election, we would be looking at the end of Gore’s (or Kerry’s) term in office. Bush was so drugged out on medication (or whatever) he couldn’t even talk in one debate, and all he did was smirk during the last one with Kerry. And who was elected…twice? Debates don’t really change minds. The Obama campaign’s whole strategy, including the primaries, was to make his election seem inevitable. It didn’t work against Hillary (who “lost” not because of voters but only because of incredible fraud on the part of the DNC) and I don’t think it will work against McCain. I think the “silenced majority,” in the privacy of the voting booth, will reject Obama.

    Andrew said:

Can someone please reassure me that things will be all right? I know I sound needy but I need some reassurance. I’m only a kid and I am fearful that the world is spinning way out of control.

I’m here to tell you that things WILL be alright. As E.B. White said: “Democracy is the recurrent suspicion that more than half of the people are right more than half of the time.” Democracy is messy but in the end it is the best system for this reason. The vast majority of people in the United States are not the rabid Obamatized college students or the far left leaning college professors or the elite latte drinking liberals. Instead, the vast majority of Americans are simple, plain, hard-working everyday people who get up every morning, go to work, come home at night to spend time with their families, and go to church on Sunday. They aren’t far left nor far right, they are in the middle–the camp of common sense.

In other words, this American majority is wise in a way that has held this country in good stead for the past 232 years. They are the vast majority of reliable voters. And regardless of what the pollsters are telling you, on Nov 4th, the majority of these voters will vote their common sense.

After listening to the rhetoric, after hearing the attack ads, after chatting about it with friends and family, they will vote for the candidate who has demonstrated worthiness through his track record and sacrifices, not the one who has spent his time writing memoirs and giving eloquent speeches. They will inherently understand that character, not eloquence; substance, not slogans; and track record, not memoirs will be the hallmark of a person worthy of their vote. That is why we are so fortunate to live in this great country and why you should have faith that this will all turn out for the best.

  • Peggy Sue

You know, Obama said early on in the primaries, a plagerized statement even then:

    “Only words.”

And then cynically referenced Thomas Jefferson and Martin Luther King.

A repeat from the support and marketing of the Governor of MA., Patrick Deval, oddly enough a protege of David Axelrod. Look at Deval’s record. Please look and examine. You will not like what you find. Unless you’re blind, that is.

The intent was to suggest that words, the very symbol of human thought and reasoning, has clout, has profound meaning.

But David Axelrod and his echo chamber makes a mockery of all that. This is a battle over style versus substance.

The plumber from Pa. is a case in point. He makes $250,000, but what isn’t said that to build a company, a startup, means that the profits are plowed under to increase his customer base, pay his employees and afford the basic cost of keeping a business afloat. If he and his family are pulling $40-50,000, he’s doing pretty damn good.

It takes a minimum of 5 years to get a startup off the ground, and another 10-15 years until you can drawn down on what ever profit margin you make. Many small businesses do not make it within that first five years. If you increase the tax burden on these small business owners, they will go belly up. And with them?

    Jobs.

Seventy percent of the working public is employed by small business enterprises. Tax them and you will kill all initiative. Tax them and you can kiss employment good-bye.

Kill initiative? Lay-off the majority of the population? Start playing taps for the country that has sweated and bled and offered the best alternative to the brutal, stark reality that we see featured in the daily news.

This is not American Idol, folks. This is reality, as real as it ever gets. So Cuba has an easier health system. It accomdates everyone.

McCain tamped down the “McSame” argument the moment they started arguing with “I’m not George Bush” comment in the very beginning. Every other comment by Obama after that that TRIED to tie McCain to George Bush was neutralized after that.

Senator Government wants us to think that wealth creation and money is finite and that the pie is only so big. And that those who have more of it should be forced to give up more to those who don’t have it. What I hope the McCain campaign can stress (and maybe with Joe Plumber they can) is that wealth creation is infinite and everyone can prosper. The answer is not to divide up the small pie but to grow the damn pie!

It’s great that someone would take the time to explain the dynamics of group psychology. I remember seeing those demonstrations when I was in college.

I do think that actually this time there is an ANGRY majority rather than a silent majority.

McCain and Co needs to continue to hammer the real truth about Obama and hammer it hard. The people I talk to are really seething for the most part about the perceived takeover of democracy. These are people who were going to vote for McCain regardless ( we live in a red state ) – but they are incredibly ANGRY at what Obama truly represents.

  • Patriot Forever

In my opinion, Mccain won the debate. He was aggressive, factual and used Joe the plumber in a very effective way. McCain painted Obama as a traditional democrat, one that will raise our taxes, increase spending on social programs, give money away and is weak on foreign policy.
Even though Obama is a great speaker and communicates very well, McCain was quick to point that even though Obama gave a great speech, if you listened he was misleading. One example was when McCain caught Obama appearing to agree with oil drilling. McCain pointed that Obama had said, we could drill. McCain said we must drill now.
The talking heads at CNN and MSNBC claimed McCain looked stiff and uneasy and Obama looked relaxed and Presidential. They don’t mention that McCain has injuries to his arms that give him a stiff look. The scars and injuries of a hero. A man that loves his country and his flag so much and is unable to raise his arm to salute. Every morning, Cindy combs his hair.
    Great night for McCain

  • Patience

YES!!! Let me be clear really means let me obfuscate a little more. What a weasel.

  • IronMan

To give you an idea of how warped Obama’s logic is, in the debate tonight, Obama said (and I quote), “Ninety-Eight percent (98%) of small businesses make under $250,000 per year.”

    LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where does Obama pull these kind of voodoo numbers from? Obama intentionally lied because he wants to claim his tax plan will benefit small businesses, when in truth and in fact, it will cripple small business and kill jobs!

Talk about being out of touch with reality! Wow, Barry!

    Fact: Obama can’t be trusted!

Obama is a rookie when it comes to knowing how to create jobs and stimulate the economy. Obama’s radical tax plan is scary, bates motel scary.

Obama’s tax scheme would kill jobs and put our economy in a downward spiral.

Thank God John McCain is in this race and fighting for America! McCain knows that during tough economic times. the LAST thing you do is raise taxes! Obama just doesn’t get basic economics 101 and never will!

McCain’s plan will grow small businesses and create jobs! McCain’s plan will help improve the home foreclosure crisis! Obama is missing in action when it comes to providing a plan to grow the economy, increase jobs, and keep people in their homes.

It is time for all Americans to stand up and fight for what we know is right!

    Country First!!

My post saying: ‘you’re exactly correct’ was in response to to johnqpublics post upthread; namely,

    That is exactly correct.

That issue goes deeper. Chavez (Venezuala) supports the murderous uprisings in Colombia against the not exactly pristine but generally anti-drug trade gov’t. In other words, Chavez is supporting drug lords (wealthy) in order to flip/keep Colombia a drug providing slave state to U.S. and other drug using economies.

Fantastic article! Well worth the time! I’ve been wondering about this very issue. Thanks for posting.

Translated, Obama means that when he becomes President, he will do away with Fox News as it is today for the same reason as he will take our money and use it for his purposes. The man is a megalomanic.

I’m with all of you on this abortion issue. I’ve worked for reproductive choice for years and I, too, am so over it. I also don’t care if Roe v. Wade is overturned. Enough already. Let the sword of Damocles fall. Who cares.

  • Peggy Sue

Hello! I was a Hillary supporter. Still am. And I believe in a woman’s right to choose.

The word “choice” is critical. My choice, your choice, everyone’s choice–to carry a pregnancy. Or not.

I don’t agree with the narrow interpretation of John McCain or Palin. But I also don’t agree with abortion on demand, take a living, late-term abortion and stuff it in the trash. Barack Obama’s vote on this issue was disgusting. He can wiggle-waggle in any direction, but the fact is that his decision was immoral. It might have garnered approval from the NARAL or NOW, but it was still wrong.

And for me, as a women and mother, it’s absolutely disgusting.

We treat animals better than this. And if we don’t? We can call ourselves monsters.

Get off your high-horse with Roe vs. Wade. It wasn’t written on Moses’ Tablets. It was a flawed law that has been in effect for many, many years. There’s something to be said about precedent. But women, myself included, are called to a measure of responsibility. A right is not absolute license. And the truth is that we, as women, can never, ever use abortion as a substitute for prevention, contraception or reasonable behavior. Yes, there are exceptions–rape, incest, the life of the mother. And for this, I’m glad the right to choose is in place.

But if we abuse the right, if we disrespect the sanctity of life then we will deserve to lose the right to terminate under any circumstance. When we act as if there is no consequence, we lose our souls.

So please, don’t lecture us on what we may or may not find important.

I’m pro-choice, but this morning I voted for McCain.

  • TeakWoodKite

Andrew, the stakes are indeed high. You are right to be disturbed. Keep in mind that it is your future.

I watched CNN for the debate because I like to watch the little graph thingy about what the Ohio undecided voters are thinking. Ohio women hate Senator McCain. They aren’t overly thrilled with Senator Obama, but seem to kind of like a few things he says.

I also watched CNN’s analysts. Immediately after the debate, they thought Senator McCain was wonderful, that he made more than a few kills, especially in the first half hour. They thought Senator Obama was on the defense and flat with every answer. Then along came the results from the CNN viewer polls and the analysts decided Senator McCain had just pounded the last nail into his coffin. All he can do now is try to help other Republicans up for election win and he should put his efforts into helping them. Tomorrow morning, based on Democrats who voted at cnn.com, Senator McCain is out of the race according to the CNN analysts. How nice.

I taped the Fox analysts and will watch them in a few minutes.

I thought Senator McCain did really well in the first half of the debate and held his own in the second half. He had quite a few kills, but not as many in the second half. I noticed the undecided women in Ohio seemed to be listening to a different debate than I was, but the men were scoring Senator McCain high for the same things I was. The men also seemed to score Senator McCain much higher on the cute little graph thingy than they did Senator Obama.

Senator McCain has the conservative base of the Republican party, they like Governor Palin. As long as she’s on the ticket, they’re going to show up at the polls and vote. I think he would have been better advised to have catered to the moderate women vote tonight on abortion.

I also think when Senator Obama said Exxon-Mobil can afford to pay more taxes so he’s going to raise their taxes, Senator McCain should have jumped in and asked him: “Who is going to pay Exxon-Mobil’s higher taxes, their share holders or the consumer at the pump?” Senator McCain should have also asked Senator Obama how people who don’t currently have $3k for health insurance, where are they going to get $3k to pay for Senator Obama’s health insurance plan.

All I heard from Senator Obama, is spend, spend, spend. If we put more money into this and go further into debt, ten years from now it’ll be okay because we’ll be saving money. Uh huh. I remember using that same argument on my parents starting at age 11. If I can just have those $35 fashion boots (the year was 1972 – they were pricey boots), I won’t want another pair all the way through middle and high schools. (You all know how that story went, I just had to have new boots again in 1973, 74, 75, etc…). If you buy me X, I won’t need to spend money on Y anymore and you’ll save money. Of course, within the month I needed both X and Y. It’s on sale, I know I don’t need it now, but I will next year and it’ll cost more then. I’ve concluded that Senator Obama’s economic plan is every pre-teen and teenage girl’s economic plan. While I’ll admit that 11 through 20 year old girls are a driving force of our spending consumers, if not kept in check, their parents end up in bankruptcy court.

For the life of me, after listening to Senator Obama tonight (and doing my best not to throw anything at the tv), I can’t imagine why anyone is voting for him. I’m a bleeding heart, flora and fauna loving liberal. I’m not scared of socialists, I even think there are certain socialist programs like national health care that we should have. I think many of the multi-national corporation’s profits are out of control, but I don’t think we should tax them away. I think we should do more to raise people in this country and worldwide from poverty – but I don’t think the way to do this is for Senator Obama to tax people making over $250k to funnel their funds into his wacky, ineffectual, doomed programs. If a highway is going to ruin the habitat of some little bird that no one likes, the bird wins. I think the young adults should be able to wear those disgusting Governor Palin t-shirts if it’s important to them to offend their elders while expressing their political views – every 20 year old should have the right to express his free speech in ways he or she will be embarrassed about in twenty years. However, I can’t imagine even with my liberal views that there are any circumstances under which I will vote for Senator Obama. I’m stunned that it appears half of this country is supporting him. I think I’ve tumbled through the rabbit hole with Alice.

People claimed they would move to Canada if President Bush was elected for a second term. Most stayed, but I think looking at their home values these days – they wish they had moved. It wouldn’t surprise me if Senator Obama is elected that Canada and Australia are inundated with immigrants from the U.S. before his first term is over with.

  • no vote for Oblabla

I agree! Also when the Obammunist started in on the “I was just 8 years old when Ayers…” McCain the went on to talk about Ayers the day after 9/11 saying “We should have bombed more” or something to that effect. I know I was sitting here on the edge of my seat and I yelled “YES!” when he said that. He shut Obammunist right the fark up about his “I was just 8″ crap.

    Go McCain/Palin!

In Clinton’s interview,I would have liked someone to ask her what she thought of the Acorn Fraud going on..This could have been happening throughout the Primary, and could have changed many states to her favour….Wonder what her answer is to that question? Is she only backing Obama on Camera? What will she do in the voting booth? If I was her,,I’d vote Mccain/Palin.

  • Butter

There were a couple major disappointments for me with McCain tonight. One, regarding Joe the Plumber, he needed to make the MORAL case that working to make a profit is moral and good. If one doesn’t profit by his actions, he doesn’t do them anymore. Obama is whoppingly stupid to think that people are going to work anything above the minimum to get along or leave the country altogether if they are not able to profit and build a life for themselves. It is built into human being to seek values. O is counting on that to get the money he needs. What he isn’t counting on is that he will not get people to generate the money he wants unless they are free. And this is governed not by his goddammed laws, but by the eternal nature of human beings. If he is as committed to getting what he wants as I think he is, he will have to resort to increasing levels of force in order to try and get it. Pretty Obama will transform into “that bastard with a gun.”

Secondly he failed to make the real point of Obama’s association with Ayers. Ayers is not only a terrorist, he has consistently advocated the overthrow of the capitalist system. His life has been dedicated to that and it is his ideas that sourced the work that the Chicago Annenberg Challenge carried out. (There have been many trusts that have been taken over by people who act against the beliefs of the now dead founders of the trust.) Ayers chose Obama and Obama worked hard to manifest Ayers ideas. Thus Ayers is an important influence in Obama’s life and he is acting at this very hour in line with those ideas. That is the meaning of Ayers in Obama’s life and McCain needed to lay that out loud and clear.

Other than that, I was damned glad that he went after Obama as much as he did. I would have liked to see a lot more of it.

With all due respect, Colombia was sending drugs to the US LONG BEFORE Chavez ever set foot on the Venezuelan political scene.
There were times in the 1980s and 1990s that Colombia’s government essentially barred the major cities of Cali and Medellin to all non-Colombians, admitting that the government could not (and WOULD NOT) guarantee the safety of ANYONE who visited those cities. (Tourists who did visit either city were warned to make sure they had plenty of cash on hand to bribe the various druglords and gang thugs who really ruled the cities.)

  • legend

So Joe the Plumber works his tail off to achieve the American Dream. In comes Obama and takes away Joe Plumber’s hard earned money and he picks and chooses to give it to Joe Handout.

Where’s the incentive for Joe the Plumber to succeed more if he just gets penalized for working harder?

Where is the incentive for Joe Handout to say no to Joe Plumber’s free money by working his way up the ladder?

Obama’s plan penalizes hard work and rewards inaction.

We need to fight to keep the American Dream alive. Get out and vote Nov 4th regardless of the polls!!!

I never thought I would dislike anyone more than Bush Sr. Then came Bush Jr. I thought it couldn’t get any worse than that. I thought “anyone is better than Bush”.

    There I go thinking again!

How is Obama getting this free pass with the economy??? All he does is talk about what a mess we’re in because of Bush. Then when the talk of the bailout starts, he said to let the president handle it & they will call him if they need him. He is such a fucking joke it’s unreal. I cannot believe people are brainwashed by the media.

They tell us people don’t like it when McCain is negative. Since when is the truth negative??? Sorry, but the truth can hurt!

I want to see McCain get more angry. He and Palin are supposed to be the ones that will shake up Washington & get rid of corruption. Well, start by getting tougher with Obama!!! I’m ready to fight for McCain, but first he has to fight for us. I want to see Palin as the president of the senate and get rid of the corrupt senators!!!! And start with Obama.

I got so angry at the dems for not fighting for us in 2000 & 2004. Stand up, John, and fight for us!

McCain still won the debate hands down. Obama looked like the flim flam man that he is.

  • Butter

And the other point about Obama related to Ayers is that if Ayers intends to see the overthrow of the US system and Obama has aided him in his work to that end, then how in holy hell will Obama ever be able to stand up for this country as the Commander in Chief? Obama, given Ayer’s influence, having the power to decide who he may not confront that is an objective danger to the US is one hell of a scary thought.

  • anon

Its been split down the middle , same exact % for days now. I’m thinking, bite me?

  • Monet

I should add I thought Senator McCain didn’t do well on taxes, he didn’t drum it into the audience that while Senator Obama may say he’s going to cut your income taxes, he’s going to raise your costs elsewhere. If he’s raising taxes on corporations, you’re going to pay for those taxes at Best Buy, the Shell Station, the Piggly Wiggly, etc…

I think with education that Senator McCain should have pointed out Senator Obama’s failed education programs in Chicago when he was on the Annenberg Challenge.

I think Senator McCain should have pointed out that with health care, Senator Obama’s plan is not going to stop any business (small or large) from dropping health care. Just as many under a McCain administration will do so under an Obama administration. And many are going to do so over the next four years. Health insurance costs for a business can run as high as 35%. To compete, they’re going to drop that employee benefit and they aren’t going to raise what they pay their employees. At least with the McCain plan, if your health insurance benefit is dropped, you’ll have $2,500 or $5k to invest in health insurance. Nor did Senator McCain point out that his health plan will insure more people who are currently uninsured at half the cost of Senator Obama’s. (McCain’s plan will insure 27 million of the uninsured 47 million at a cost of over $200 billion, while Obama’s plan insures 25 million of the 47 million at a cost of over $400 billion).

His life has been dedicated to that and it is his ideas that sourced the work that the Chicago Annenberg Challenge carried out.

I agree, Senator McCain is falling short on the Ayers issue. I don’t care what Ayers was doing in 1970. It’s irrelevant today that forty years ago he participated in overthrowing the government through violent means. Senator McCain needed to reinforce that Mr. Ayers is still an advocate of overthrowing the U.S. government and Constitution and turning us into a socialist state. That while on the Annenberg Challenge board, Senator Obama voted to give grants to programs that would introduce school children to the evils of capitalism and the wonders of socialism. That there should be a separate black state, one that does not aspire to middle class America values. Senator McCain needs to show what exactly Senator Obama and Mr. Ayers did together in 1996, not tell give us Mr. Ayers criminal resume that Senator Obama wasn’t a part of. Senator McCain needs to tell the American public what anti-mainstream American activities Mr. Ayers has been involved with since his association with Senator Obama began up to present day with his book that is going to be released next year.

Gosh I am really glad to hear you guys on this. I am actually a pretty hard core pro-life advocate but from my side I am sick of this being a wedge issue. Cant we come to a reasonable public policy and stop pushing our personal convictions. Let us work together, overturn Rov v. Wade and pretty much every state will arrive at some form of abortion policy, don’t over turn Roe v Wade and let’s figure out ways together to work together to reduce abortions. Let’s start working together solving problems to help people instead of pushing our agenda’s and our parties.

He needs to be cornered on this one.

  • tommyo77

What McCain lies? I’ll start by listing some of Obama’s and you list McCain’s.

    1. Obama is going to give 95% of Americans a tax cut.
    2. Obama didnt support a bill that lowered comprehensive sex ed to kindergarten it was only a “bad touch” education bill. (i read the bill, he’s lying).
    3. McCain is going to give the oil companies a $400 billion dollar tax cut.
    4. Obama would have supported the Illinois bill “botched abortion bill” if it had the same language and the US Senate version (it did he’s lying)
    5. Bill Ayers is just a guy who’s kids go to the same school as Obama’s kids. Bill Ayers is just a guy in Obama’s neighborhood. I didn’t know Bill Ayers had been a terrorist. Bill Ayers didnt hold a political event for Obama at his house. (Oh hell, just the entire Bill Ayers genre)
    6. “McCain told the Wall Street Journal in March that he quote, ‘Has alway been a supporter of less regulation’ unquote… (Obama fails to mention the full quote continues with McCain stating but we need increased oversight in banking, mortgage, etc.)

Your turn, while I catch my breath.

  • Mike

Just finished watching “Charlie Rose” and his panel of pundits. They all pretty much said McCain should dump the Ayers/Acorn attacks on BO because it’s not working to his favor to gain votes and that it’s turning people off to McCain. And one pundit said he was stunned McCain didn’t use the line of attack that a government works best when one party doesn’t control everything. Everyone seemed to say BO’s the winner already. Leave it to Charlie Rose to say if McCain loses, it’s because of his choice of Sarah Palin for VP.

My sentiments exactly. I am very pro-choice, but that particial birth abortion, or whatever they call it, truly sickened me. And I was actually thinking what animal rights activists would do if someone did that to any animal. Honestly, I think people get so upside down with all this. It’s disgusting to take a baby that’s alive and literally throw it away. Shoot, it’d be kinder to just kill it outright.

I’ve had to take personal responsibility in my life for my decisions, meaning that I got pregnant. I made my choice, and it was mine to make, and for that I’m grateful.

And now, I’m past all that. So, girls, especially you vacuous, empty headed little twits following the empty suit, you’re on your own. And by the way, Barky has been heard to say that he’s pro-life. So, can you really be sure that’s he’s hard core pro-choice? That’s what he says right now, but seems to me, he might “need” to change his mind later, since he has a history of doing that–a LOT!

Interesting. I caught just the tail end of the live broadcast and watched the Fox crew declare a Barky tie or victory. Bummer.
Well, I’ve just watched the whole thing – except for the first 15 minutes – on C-Span. Did these genius pundits write their story yesterday?
I thought McCain was the clear winner. His answers addressed the questions and the issues, were positive and backed up with facts and a record to support his positions.
Barky started off strong. Trying to project a “presidential” image, but faltered as the debate went along. He didn’t address the issues directly and after the “How would you cut spending?” fiasco – which basically went “I’ll cut spending by investing” – seemed to be really off kilter. Grinning inappropriately, nodding in agreement, rambling answers – back to his usual self.
McCain finished strong, specially on education and to my eyes got a great reception from the crowd at the end.

  • Mr. Natural

Hours ago in a thread far away,

    SusanUnPC said:

The problem is style: Obama speaks in fluid sentences that anyone can understand and sound credible. McCain doesn’t.

Who can forget Deaf-Sec Putz von Rumsfeld’s soaring soliloqies at Pentagon press conferences?

Like Obama, he was a brilliant speaker. What a contrast with his boss, our President, who could barely form a sentence.

But underneath that glossy exterior was a man to whom the lives of American soldiers in Iraq were no more than abstractions, units on a cost accountant’s spreadsheet.

In terms of American casualties, Rumsfeld’s Pentagon planned for an “acceptable” resource utilization or “burn” rate. American casualties were constrained to a region around this “acceptable” cost by controlling the number of soldiers deployed. He never sent enough troops to reduce casualties to a much lower number, one more “acceptable” to the soldiers themselves, because the objective of war-planning to a “burn” rate is to control financial costs. That American soldiers were the “units” being quite literally burned was to Rumsfeld almost irrelevant.

    What’s the lesson?

Amorality is no more attractive in brilliant lipstick.

OBAMA is USING TERRORIST’S LAWYER to Defend LAWSUIT

Rather than just product the birth certificate Obama’s legal team filed a motion to dismiss. One of the Lawyers filing the motion was Joe Sandler (sandler@sandlerreiff.com) of the Washington law firm Sandler, Reiff & Young.

If Mr. Sandler’s name sounds familiar it should. He is the legal hit man for the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). CAIR is an organization with terrorist ties & has been as an un-indicted co-conspiritor in the Holyland Foundation Hamas Funding trial.

Sandler’s role for CAIR has been to stifle people from telling the truth about Islam. For example, last year he tried to get Jihad expert Robert Spencer banned from speaking to the Young American Foundation by using a threatening letter. Sandler followed up by threatening columnist Mike Adams for writing about the Spencer incident.

The plot thickens. The lawsuit Philip Berg filed based on expose of Obama’s birth certificate forgery has taken a bizarre & disturbing twist.

I believe that in the coming days McCain’s feisty delivery will be remembered even though the flash polls were skewed to BO. Don’t forget that Kerry was thought to have won all three of his debates and therefore couldn’t lose. Oops, guess he actually did lose. Go figure.

  • C.S.

So people really don’t want the responsibility of a democracy but the security of a dictatorship?

That is the antithesis of our Constitution and our government. We were warned that our Constitution was designed to prevent absolute power from corrupting absolutely and eternal vigilance was the price for our freedom.

But we’re learning some hard lessons that fighting for freedom in Iraq doesn’t ensure fair and honest elections at home. And it is painfully obvious that we’ve lost the Battle of the Vote in the primaries and we’re just fighting all of our government’s elected leaders and an abridged press to get it back. But if the majority of the People don’t want a democracy how can we succeed?

But what I find so scary is that the Republican swiftboat army has not taken one shot across Soertoro/Obama’s bow although they have a stockpile of nuclear options and even though he continues to act as if he already is president; making presidential policy decisions in direct violation of our Laws.

We’ve seen that same arrogant smirk before from George W. Bush. Soertoro/Obama doesn’t just think he’s “won”, he knows it. Just like he knew he “won” the Democratic primary.

  • C.S.

They may not be running for POTUS but no one has bothered to look behind that Wizard’s curtain to see who’s pulling Soertoro/Obama’s strings — because he certainly isn’t intelligent enough to pull this off alone! Ayers? Cousin Odinga? Someone who hasn’t surfaced yet?

Hmmmm….I think there is some mild demoralization in the GOP camp….has been for a while becuse GWB has pissed off fiscal conservatives….and they are imho the true intellectual base of the party…
McCain Terra Firma VS. Obama Mobilisse Stercoris Cumulus
McCain Solid Ground VS. Obama Shifting Shit Pile…

    VENI…VIDI…SUFFRAGARI McCAIN!
    I CAME…I SAW… I VOTED McCAIN!

When you hear the pundits praise Obama remember the tremendous amount of money he is dispursing to the newspapers, networks and every other media affiliate. He is temporarily propping up these people and providing them jobs at the moment. After the 4th of November, the vetting of Obama will begin because the campaign money will be gone. The public will be saying “what the f*ck?” Remember the NY Times and networks in the run up to the Iraq War? The embedded reporters? Now they act as if they didn’t have anything to do with the war but they made it impossible for our Congress not to vote to give Bush the power to invade by hynotizing the masses in the push for war. The media gave us the war, 2 terms of Bush, now Obama. Don’t listen to them.

  • tzada

I agree. He drones on and on. I hate his voice so much,I change channels on his ads or MSM promotion. Am hoping that whoever counts viewers counts my click off.

Last night I tried to listen but after one more “8 more years” and some of his other over used phrases, I tuned him out. I kept waiting for his eloquent “silly season” to appear….. Notice how he never answers a question? He just takes off on these nonsensical tangents and goes round and round taking time away from his opponent.

McCain on the other hand answers the question and can run circles around ole stammmer head.

NYT David Brooks said Obama didn’t have to do anything but stay calm and look presidential in the debate. To me he failed miserably in both. Of course David (who I used to admire)after wards said that McCain failed and Obama looked and sounded presidential.

He looks like a boney scarecrow and sounds like Charlie Browns teacher……

  • workingclass artist

    FRONTI NULLA FIDES…PLENUS STERCORIS OBAMA!
No reliance can be placed on appearance…Obama is full of shit…

  • tzada

It will piss people off, BUT people who click it on early will count as having WATCHED. That is what he is eager for more “big” numbers even if they are contrived.

Personally I don’t think even his most ardent fans will listen to him spiel.

I do hope that John or Sarah or both do like something to counter the lies he will tell.

McCain’s latest Florida ad is great. It brings up Rezko and two other Chicago friends of Obama that he gave pork barrel money (millions)Then shows Reid, Nance and Barney mugs and asks who will stop Obama and them from pork barrel spending. Then he says “I will’. loved it loved it loved it.

Dick Morris went to Kenya and lead Raila Ordinga’s campaign.

Roe v wade wasn’t about abortion rights, it was about the state of Texas violating two Constitutional Amendments

…relief was warranted, the court declared the abortion statutes void as vague and overbroadly infringing those plaintiffs’ Ninth and Fourteenth Amendment rights.

The Supreme Court has the responsibility for settling matters of violations of Constitutional rights

The judicial power shall extend to all cases, in law and equity, arising under this Constitution, the laws of the United States

and that is what they did; ruling that 9th amendment and 14th amendment rights had been violated by the state of Texas. Wasn’t about the issue of abortion, never was; it was about her rights being violated because she was a female. And women’s equality seems to still be a big issue if this election is any indication.

  • C.S.

One of the reasons the Fairness Doctrine was eliminated and one of the reasons we need to bring it back.

How can networks promote someone like Soertoro/Obama if they have to give Senator Clinton and John McCain equal coverage? All it would take is a split screen to knock Soertoro/Obama out of the race.

  • Alice

glenmcgahee is right!! It is all about the money and the networks are gettting big dollars from the Obama campaign ads — greed and corruption is alive and well in America!! Unbelievable — this lifelong democrat will be voting for McCain/Palin — the main characteristic we need in a president is honesty. Nothing else really matters. Obama is the most corrupt, fraudulent and dishonest candidate that has ever run. And I doubt he is even a U.S. citizen. Let’s force him to release his college records and original birth certificate and medical records NOW!

  • Dee

And it matters because if Obama is elected, these will be the type of people he appoints or nominates to critical positions in our country. Do you want Bill Ayers as Secretary of Education? With a Democratic majority in the Senate, it is possible. Think hard because that’s the man who said that schools should be “sites of resistance” against oppression, that’s the man who believes in organizing and training teachers to politicize and radicalize their students against the status quo, that’s the man who believes the children who murder their parents are just children. How comfortable are you having a child rapist as your child’s teacher? Not very? Well, Bill Ayers is the man who will violate your child’s mind in pursuit of creating little radicals and revolutionaries. Obama has chosen his friends, mentors and associates — his choices are more telling than anything that comes out of his mouth.

  • C.S.

    I don’t see Soertoro/Obama that way; as a “latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal“.

I could tolerate him if that was what he really was but effete, politicaly correct “arrogant liberals” usually don’t attend churches where the ministers are preaching “God Damn America” on Sundays, visit countries like Kenya where they provide campaign assistance to cousins trying to take over the government; live in suburbs where their neighbors are unrepentant terrorists, anti-Semetic leaders of Islam, and slum landlords currying political favors. Most “arrogant liberals” would be trying to get them out of their neighborhoods! Who gave Soertoro/Obama his definition of a liberal? His rabble-rousing wife?

  • Judy L. NC

Joe Six-Pack isn’t going to like this.

  • C.S.

Andrew, it’s a tough spot to be in right now. You are old enough to know that this vote will determine your future but not old enough to do anything about it. I don’t know what you’ve been doing politically, but you have a perfect opportunity to inform Obama’s “base” of young people old enough to vote why you feel the way you do.

It may not seem like much, but some very big changes changes have come about through small acts. Harriet Tubman’s small act of return after her initial escappe from slavery ended up rescuing hundres of slave and gave her a prominent place in hisotry.

  • Annie Oakley

Obama “sounds like Charlie Browns teacher.” I keep thinking of the Far Side cartoons about what the dog hears (blah, blah, blah, Fluffy, blah, blah, blah) and what the cat hears (blah, blah blah…). To me he is not eloquent but arrogant. All he hears is his name; in love with the sound of his own voice.

I missed all but about a minute of the debate, but in that one minute that’s what I saw: Obama seeming as if he was put out that he still had to be running for the office he is owed. I’m still back at the last debate, having just read the letter that Obama bragged about sending to Paulson and Beranke. It’s a classic. It’s got all the blah, blah, blah to nowhere, the condescending tone from the junior Senator to two guys that weren’t actually running Fred/Fan, and the only solution he points to his more money for minority mortgages.

  • tj

Well something must be working if this many individuals are joining us today!

  • tj

I had a porky Pig moment in there when he started stuttering again. I was hoping that after the butuh.. butuh, I would hear “Thats all folks! ” Unfortunatly it never came he just kept on talking.

  • AnninCA

I am a fiscal conservative, but definitely not one of the conservative “intellects.” On my issues…..I’ll go with liberal thinking.

However, this last 8 years has truly been disastrous. A war with no way to pay for it DID contribute mightily to this fiasco.

There’s no getting around that truth for Republicans.

They either change……or go the way of the Whigs.

  • Annie Oakley

Just like he did his campaign appearances with rock concerts. I can hardly imagine that the country needs yet another half hour of his Hopeyness, but I’m sure the Obama networks appreciate the cashola.

  • AnninCA

Heaven’s no. I couldn’t tolerate the debate even last night.

He just makes my teeth ache. He’s a walking billboard of “elite liberal with dumb ideas.”

  • tj

Shouldnt it be the responsibility of both the man and the woman to manage reporduction? It takes two and I have not heard a single person say that the man has any right to help decide what the woman will do. Rowe vs Wade is from another time and needs to be re-written to include the rights of the father. I am pro-choice but believe it has to be a concious decision to have an obortion.
Mccain made his personal opinion on the matter known and I respect him for his comments. I will still vote for him and Palin on Nov 4th. This is the type of person we need running this country. ONe with honesty and integrity!

  • AnninCA

Gerry was off last night. She wondered why the war was not discussed.

Hello. This was the domestic policy debate, Gerry!

Or….perhaps she’s that sharp. By ranting about that, it was fairly easy to dismiss her other remarks. I never am quite sure about some of the “surrogate” speakers. Are they clever? Are they dumb?

    :)

  • AnninCA

All I know is that I “hear” McCain and Palin. My CHIEF thought is that the woman’s life should be protected, unless she CHOOSES to give it up for birth. It is a fundamental right, in my opinion, to choose life or death. I’m also for assisted death, btw.

I agree with McCain that the culture must shift. I watched as the so-called liberals absolutely skewered Bristol for getting pregnant. Excuse me? I’m not joining some shaming group who act like sex is a “nasty” act and who think it’s OK to shame her publicly!

That attitude is reminicent of when they made pregnant girls stay home from school. Lordy.

I also abhored Bush’s choice of medical leaders, who thought Just Say No was a plan.

    Good grief.

McCain promotes a compromise viewpoint that makes sense to me. He chose Sarah, in spite of the fact that her daughter was pregnant. Actions speak loudly. There is no shame in that, other than she didn’t practice birth control.

I’ve stated this before. I mentor women. I cannot even get them to demand safe sex practices. Seriously. It’s as much of a losing battle today with these women, who have teen-age daughters, as it was trying to talk women in So. Indiana in the 1970′s to consider abortion.

It’s the same darn thing. Back then, it was…my family will reject me. (Loads of Catholics in that area.) Today, it’s the man will reject me.

    *sigh*

  • tj

I was watching CNN and they had there viewer polls in. I found it interesting that they said for us to be aware that the number of democrats in the poll was 54% and the Republicans was around 42%. There reason was that this represents the percent of democrats in the country verses the number of republicains. Of course the outcome we 58% BO and 31% Mccain. I found this odd that they would actually tell us that they had set it heavy for the dems then make a really bad excuses as to why. This tells me that the numbers are all done this way so we should just ignore all the polls!

  • AnninCA

I agree this morning. I was too cranky last night to listen to the debate.

    My initial reaction was negative.

Today, I disagree with me. *haha

  • Annie Oakley

    Thanks!

I’ve been polled several times recently because of a close senate race. The first poller was a young, AA man, and he did the poll straight up, but it felt a little awkward telling him I wouldn’t vote for Obama but I might vote for the senate Dem.

Next call was shorter. The interviewer was a young, AA woman. In short, I was asked if I’d vote for the senate Dem and said probably not. Then I was asked if an Obama ad endorsing him would change my mind, and I said no. Next, would an ad by my current, long-term senator change my mind and I said that would be more persuasive. So she asked my straight up if I was saying the Senator’s endorsement would help get my vote while Obama’s would not. I said that was the case, and then the interviewer did something rather shocking. She said, “umm, umm, umm” in a low scolding sound as if to say “My, my, my. And you wear a white hood, too?”

To the point, I have no doubt that the pollsters themselves are introducing bias into responses. I had also thought that the Bradley effect was overstated, but when that polling group calls back, I don’t intend to respond. Like the article said, they know who I am, but I don’t know who they are. Admitting to not being for Obama has become something that shouldn’t be discussed in polite social situation. I’ve never been through an election where I don’t know where most of my contacts stand because no one wants to risk being on the “wrong” side in mixed company.

e are absolutely not going to continue this cultural war over abortion. Frankly, if any woman today cannot manage her own reproductive cycle, then we are talking about an rescue/enabling deal.

What unmitigated ignorance and hatred. The only way we end this “cultural war over abortion” is to decide, once and for all, that women are just as entitled as anyone else in our society to make their OWN decisions about their OWN bodies–period.

Really, what is your problem with that?

Do you believe women should have bodily autonomy or not? It’s just that simple. And if your answer is “no,” as it clearly is, please explain why. Because they’re stupid? Because they don’t deserve it if they — oh horrors! — decide they don’t want to spend their lives reproducing?

(That said, the really ironic thing is that McCain is actually better on the issue of choice than Obama is.)

Back in my marching-for-choice days, one of our slogans was: “Any man who doesn’t believe in abortion rights, can go f*** himself.”

The same is true for any woman.

  • Annie Oakley

Soon Senator Government will just be Sen. G., which has a nice ring to it.

  • Annie Oakley

Yep, and then he elaborated: “I guess the point I’m making,” he went on, “is that there is an entire industry now, an entire apparatus, designed to perpetuate this cultural schism, and it’s powerful.” It’s all about him.

  • Ms. Angie

The “kill him” statement never happened. At least according the a northern PA newspaper. The Secret Service has yet to find one person to substantiate those claims.

I’m new here, so forgive me if I’m double posting information, but here’s a link to the article I read this morning:

    http://www.timesleader.com/news/breakingnews/Secret_Service_says_Kill_him_allegation_unfounded_.html

  • Annie Oakley

That sharia law thing is a jaw-dropper. I wonder what young liberal women would think if they knew Sen. G. is down with that in Kenya. You now, you think it can’t happen here, but I saw an article that sharia law was being upheld in Texas in arbitrage… as long as the woman “agrees.”

  • Annie Oakley

but don’t wear your tin hat IN the bank…security and all.

  • Annie Oakley

Well, if Dumbyuh was “qualified” to be president…. I think the media standard in that election was “Who would you rather have a beer with?” They have a lot of nerve to be trashing Gov. Palin after that.

  • Ms. Angie

    A manufactured crisis, exactly!

I actually had my boss agreeing with me yesterday that it was in fact something more than just the free market.

He is still an Obama supporter, but I feel as though I’m working overtime trying to get him to see the light.

  • tommyo77

Lucky Ducky, Nothing? Here’s a few more:

    7. I will fillibuster FISA
    8. I will accept public financing
    9. I will renegotiate NAFTA or unilaterally withdraw
    10. I oppose off shore drilling, I support off shore drilling (take your pick)
    11. I never heard Rev. Wright say those things.
    12. I don’t accept donations from lobbyists.
    13. No lobbyists work for my campaign.

  • Annie Oakley

Good one! And someone should ask Sen. G. why if he’s so new his policies are so last century.

  • tommyo77

So do you believe a woman has the right to have an abortion untill the ninth month, till the last foot comes out of the uterus, till the umbilical cord is cut? If you are a Roe v. Wade-er or a main stream Dem/Lib they declare 3rd trimester abortions off limit or at least open to government intervention. Did a woman’s body stop being her body by the 3rd trimester?

Angry rehtoric and name calling is not going to help come to a workable public policy, I don’t give a damn what your conviction is and you don’t give a damn what my conviction is but, it’s not about that, it’s about living in a society together. You are angry, rude and disrepectful of others views and therefore should not even be allowed to have a seat at the table when it comes to public discourse on this topic (and probably many others).

  • Patricia

You have stacked this with republicans. What debate were you people watching? McCain is sooooooooo out of touch with the little guy. Sounds like you are a bunch of ignorant white people who are afraid to have a black president. The republicans have destroyed our economy and our world reputation. It is time for a big change, and not one where the V.P.’s foreign policy experience is that she can see Russia from her house! Wake up people!
