Obama and Biden Can’t Count

Barack Obama and Joe Biden want us to believe they have the plan to fix the economy. But excuse me. They can’t even count the number of letters in a four letter word. According to Joe Biden, quoting Barack Obama, JOBS is a three letter word.

So let me see. Barack says there are 57 states, Joe Biden says he eats regularly at a restaurant that has been closed for 22 years and Sarah Palin supposedly is the moron? Right.

If they can’t handle basic counting and simple addition, it is doubtful they have any concept of one trillion dollars or things like deficits. Perhaps that explains Obama’s promise to give 95% of Americans a tax cut even though 40% of Americans don’t pay Federal income taxes. New math?

  • jjsmoof

does the size of bama’s ego qualify as a state (or 7 states)? :)

      LMAO!!

Great post Larry!! Yes, this must be the radical new math being taught now. Kids now can’t count back change at a fast food restaurant either.

      • Patti

Kida cant count back change anywhere. They get lost when the registers break.. Must be all those calculators they have been using since 1rst grade.

        • Rob in Chicago

Lots of fast food places use pictures of the food rather than numbers on their cash registers because the “kids” can’t work with or recognize numbers at all, and the register calculates the change. Even with that, they are at a total loss when trying to “count back” the change.

        • barry bums a ciggie

It’s so true! The look of panic on a young clerk’s face when the register doesn’t work is something really sad to witness.

      • Disgusted

The funniest part is he freakin spelled it out. J.O.B.S, ummm 1,2,3,4. What a doofus.

Larry you would NEVER know Biden or Bambi had EVER messed up in their LIVES if you watch ANY channel but Fox.

I just hope main street & country road are not falling for it.

Nov 4 can’t get here soon enough for me.

and what is our plan B if Bambi steals it? Do we all have a plan B? (are we packing? lol)

JOE BIDEN SAYS JOE NOT A REAL PLUMBER AND SHOULDN’T GET TAX CUTS….MAN JOE BIDEN IS AN IDIOT…MCCAIN SHOULD PUT JOE ON THE FOREFRONT OF HIS CAMPAIGN

    • Susan1968

I had to call a plumber to replace a cracked toilet bowl and a leaking pipe in the wall.

$1000 including the new fixture which je gave me a break on (cost) because he had it on the truck. He was here about an hour.

It’s a family business — him and his 2 sons. They all have gorgeous homes valued at a $500G.

I know a guy who is now a screenwriter. He used to be a plumber. He said some years — when he got big contracts – he grossed upwards of $400,000 – $500,000.

The elite cannot imagine that trade skills like plumbing can enable you to earn a living making more than college graduates.

      • Dawnelle

plumbers in ohio don’t make squat (he was in ohio right?)

        • destard

          Um, WRONG!

My brother and his wife own a water filtration/bottle water service/bottled water/swimming pool/hot tub supply plumbing company, and they gross waaaaaay more than “squat”.

And Joe wants to start a plumbing BUSINESS, not just be an individual plumber.

          Geez.

          • Dawnelle

my friend in Ohio married a plumber last year

            he doesn’t make squat

maybe it depends on the area

            • Dawnelle

              oh frig wait

              no it’s not plumber

              it’s carpenter

              sorry doh!

her “Carpenter Boyfriend” turned into her “Carpenter Husband”

              wrong craft , bad me

              • Susan1968

If he’s a carpenter working for another company he earns an hourly rate.

If he’s a licensed master carpenter who owns his own business he would make a lot more.

That’s the point — people who take their own destiny into their hands and start their own businesses.

Obama wants to penealize these people for having initiative, then mail checks to people who make so little they pay no income tax at all.

                • John

                  Guys, Guys.

Being a plumber is like being an electrician, a carpenter, a small business owner, a construction worker, etc. etc. etc.

Some are successful. Some are not. There are brilliant craftsmen out there making plenty of money. They are in the right location, they know how to advertise themselves, they’ve built up good will and a customer base, etc.

And there are many, many others who can’t make ends meet no matter how hard they work.

Saying “plumbers make tons of money” or “plumbers dont make shit!” is a waste of time. Both are correct.

                  • Arabella Trefoil

John – Thanks for the reality check! I married a blue collar worker. Some years his business does well, other years not so well.

                  • barry bums a ciggie

I agree. The fact is, people who work with their hands (plumber, mechanics, etc.) work long hard hours and are on call. In big cities, there is a shortage of these skills so plumbers and the likes can charge more. And also depending on advertising, marketing, reputation, these guys can rack up lots of work. My plumber told me he is thinking of hiring 2-3 more people to help him meet the demand. But to say plumbers couldn’t hit this $$ ceiling is just plain wrong.

                    • John

It certainly is. I was at the University of Maryland in the early-90s, working on my Master’s Degree in History. A friend of mine was working on the same thing. We both graduated the same year. I struggled for years to find a teaching job, found one, and now make just under $60,000 per year teaching High School. My friend (also with a Master’s Degree in History) stayed in school for three more years and got his PhD. When he couldnt find a teaching job, he devoted more time to working with his dad as an electrician. He eventually went off on his own, and I suspect he makes at least three times more than I do today, working as an electrician. He writes articles for history magazines from time to time but that’s for fun.

I bet people like Obama and his friends (who are only his friends until they embarress him, and then they are just “people in the neighborhood” he barely knows) can’t fathom anyone wanting to work with their hands instead of teaching or bloviating like they do. I KNOW they think that they are superior to craftsmen. Personally, I have vastly more admiration for someone who can wire a house than someone who can give a twenty-minute (including applause lines) speech on nothing in particular.

                  • PhxNickD

That’s correct but as a want to be leader of our country you don’t assume a hardworking American is lying about what he does.

        • Susan1968

          Dawnelle:

I just found a comment from a plumber on another site. He’s in Oregon and backs up what I say:

Obama is WRONG again. I have a small plumbing business, and only employ my 2 sons. $250,000. gross a year is not high. I gross around $350,000 – $450,000. a year easy. Even now with the economy. McCain did great last night and will now get my vote, and I am registered as a democrat.

Posted By Gary, Oregon : October 16, 2008 1:25 pm

Obama elites can’t imagine that hard-working people in skilled trades make more money than college graduates.

In fact, the reason skilled trades make higher salaries is because no one wants to be a plumber any more.

Too many young people think skilled trades are below them. They’ll be stuck working in cubicles for the rest of their lives making less than plumbers.

          • Dawnelle

oh I totally get “not wanting to be a plumber” and I did have it wrong the guy my friend married is a carpenter……. I don’t know anything but that and he doesn’t make much money.

Of course that is relative to how much you think A LOT or MUCH is right?

and about getting free checks for not paying taxes
I totally agree with that being WRONG too! I don’t WANT money just given to me like that. And I did consider it for a minute. The last 300. Nope, if I take it I will no longer be able to bitch about other people taking it.

I feel bad enough being on “legitimate” disability but I did work over 20 yrs before I became disabled. Anyway…… no one should WANT to bilk anyone for something they never earned or deserved. Maybe they’ve convinced themselves someone OWES it to them?

            it’s still wrong imo.

      • lark

Plumbers make a lot of money. And they work alone most of the time.

        • Arabella Trefoil

Yes. You are on call 24 hours a day in some cases, especially if you own your own business.

My friends from college, who married MBA’s looked down on my spouse when we got married in the 1980′s. But he’s still working and everything in our house is in tip-top shape!

          • johnqpublic

Joe could be an unrepentant domestic terrorist or a white-hating BLT preacher or a real estate swindling thug, and none of that would change what Obama said–and meant.

    • tek

Anyone see the interview on ABC with Jo? Diane Sawyer kept trying to trip him up and he wasn’t having any of it. I think he’s doing a lot of good for McCain. He doesn’t like Obama’s economics and he called it socialism. I agree with him, there should be some better way to raise federal revenue than tax people for the money they’ve worked hard to earn. We adhere to the Fair Tax movement. Get revenue through sales tax, then even crooks have to pay it.

      • Kristen

He’s making more sense to me than McCain is. And I loved how he didn’t back down from Diane. This is VERY good for McCain.

      • Urban Hillbilly

The McCain campaign is probably jumping for joy over their good fortune of “Joe the Plumbers” standing in line to ask a question of Barack Obama!

As we all know, people who go to speak to candidates at campaign stops are worth a hundred billion Paul Begala and Roland Martin guesses about the “average American”.

    • trails

I just watched Joe the plumber on at a Yahoo news feed. Joe’s real and he still ain’t tellin’ who he’s voting for. But he did say everyone should dig for their own information and not just take what’s being fed to us.

      Go Joe!

      • Rob in Chicago

If Joe the Plumber was on the fence before, Joe “The Idiot” Biden, calling him a fake plumber, probably knocked him off the fence. ;)

    • PhxNickD

Talk about out of touch with the American people and the economy! I am sure Joe the plumber wants to by the plumbing business he works for because it is a low income producing shop.
As a small business owner I can tell you, there comes a financial point in your business that you hope for a giant step forward. While the goal is always to increase your customer base and profits year after year, there is a period where taxes will kill ANY small business. A small business making $250,000 probably has about 3-4 employees. Paying them a decent salary plus the company’s share of taxes eats into a big chunk of that business’ profits. Obama wants to raise taxes on business at this financial point. Say good to jobs.

      • PhxNickD

        Say good to jobs.

That was Say good-bye to jobs.

Biden is not very smart. He’s a serial plagiarist, which to me suggests both an ethical and intellectual failing. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2008/08/25/bidens-time-1988-plagiarism-goes-well-beyond-what-wiki-reveals

    Wikipedia notes:

Biden attended the University of Delaware in Newark. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in history and political science in 1965, ranked 506th of 688 in his class.
He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1968, where by his own description he underperformed. During his first year there, he was accused of having plagiarized 5 of 15 pages of a law review article.

His Wikipedia entry should also note he finished 76th out of 85 in his law school class.

He is clever in another sense, though. He’s figured out how to steer campaign contributions to his family. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/15/biden-steered-campaign-ca_n_134735.html

    • John

Biden’s plenty smart, and he’s been a good public servant for four decades. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize, shall we? This is about Barack Obama being criminally unqualified for the Presidency, a man with a serious judgement deficit judging from his idiot ideas and associations, who has run a racist, thuggish campaign. Biden should not have agreed to run with him, but that doesn’t make Biden some kind of stealth idiot who has somehow scammed the people of Delaware into voting for him every six years since 1972. On the contrary, Biden is way too good for Obama.

Who cares where he finished in his law school class? I hate that crap; he’s accomplished a hell of a lot with his “underperformance,” hasn’t he? By that logic, we should all be lining up to vote for Obama because he finished near the TOP of HIS class.

      • tek

Joe Biden ran for president at least 3 times and couldn’t make it into the primaries. Yet, he is now “one heartbeat away from the presidency.” Thank you stupid New Democrats.

        • Dawnelle

ARGH and GROWL @ new democrats

          Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr~!

        • Rob in Chicago

Joe probably put his campaign expenses on his MBNA credit card. I understand that he has a lot of credit available from the cash he received for pushing that “bankruptcy reform” bill through Congress, so that credit card debt is now much more difficult to discharge in any bankruptcy. Some “man-of-the-people”.

          • rw

Oh yes, the bankruptcy reform bill…that’s when it was confirmed to me that it’s not about party….not that I did not know before.

        • John

Um- so now running a successful campaign is evidence of intelligence and ability to be President? I thought they were two different skills.

      • PhxNickD

John how do you know Obama graduated near the top of his class? If you have some college transcripts the USofA would love to see them.

        • John

As I understand it, Obama was the tallest student in every class he was ever in- most handsome, too. He was voted Most Likely To Succeed every year of school, though that page has fallen out of every Yearbook printed. He got Honors grades in every class, though the exact transcripts are not available, I mean they are available and have been released and aren’t going to be released again, and if you ask for them again you are paranoid and a racist.

Obama was a Consitutional Law Professor- strike that, he was THE Constitutional Law Professor. At the age of eight, his writings impressed Justice William O Douglas enough that Douglas used them in several of his published opinions, though he didnt give Barack credit because Douglas was a racist. Every paper that came out of Obama’s Law School was personally written by Barack, though he allowed other students to put their names on some, at times, because that’s the kind of guy he is. Obama graduated from Law School not at the top of his class, but above it, since his grades were so high they could not be calculated in any conventional way. It’s been determined that Obama has extra brains in his ears.

My guess is that Obama’s college transcripts can be found in the same box where his birth certificate is kept. At the end of the rainbow, right under the pot of gold.

          • Monica

Thanks for the laugh! I still can’t believe we can’t dig up any classmates from any college he attended. No one wants to admit they knew him? No one remembers him? He blended into the background? What’s the deal? I’ve been out of college for over 15 years now and I can find old classmates and get the info to you within the hour.

      • Snickers

Well, John, perhaps Biden has been good to the people of Delaware, but as a feminist I’m not ever going to forget Anita Hill and his treatment of her. In my book he’s a jerk. And then there’s the bankruptcy bill…

    • AF catfish

And that was before plagiarizing was really rampant, like now. That girl who wrote a book to get into Harvard wasn’t even kicked out when they found passages that were plagiarized.

This whole thing of “Joe never forgot where he came from” is such B.S.! He’s been a senator since he was 29, in the early 1970s, and since then he hasn’t been exposed to the same vulnerabilities regular people have. Otherwise he wouldn’t have voted for that hideous credit card industry bill.

  • John

Check out the REAL Hate Radio (Air America) and hear endless, issues-free snarking on John McCain and Sarah Palin accompanied by repeated on-air orgasms over The One.

This morning- very first caller who phones in to talk about last night’s debate says “McCain made me think I had traveled back in time and was watching The Crypt Keeper introducing that night’s episode of Tales From the Crypt..”

Much derisive laughter all around. Oh, it’s all so much fun to snark at a guy’s age. Because Stephanie Miller (Age 47) will NEVER be that old. And if she ever is, she won’t be like McCain, because she’s wicked cool. And she won’t have those stumpy short little arms either, why are McCain’s arms freaky like that? Oh yeah, because he was badly hurt parachuting into the jungles of Vietnam, then tortured regularly for six years. Bummer, man. What a loser. He’ll never be awesomely cool and hip like Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, The Young Jerks and Rachel Maddow.

NEW GALLUP POLL – OBAMA LEAD DOWN TO 2 points….GO MAC!!!!!!

    • Dark Knight

if anyone can beat Obama it is McCain….McCain knows how to fight in the face of overwhelming odds against him…and there is a genuine quality about him that can’t be ignored…like they say, you can’t keep a good man down.

      • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

McCain knows how to fight in the face of overwhelming odds against him…

I agree with the following caveat: in the case of this election the overwhelming odds card is being overplayed by Obama and his evil partners in the MSM. Perhaps this has been a very close race all along or maybe even Mac has been really in the lead? The inevitability and poll rolls have been out en mass. That should clue us in what is really up.

Safest thing to do is avoid the polls and MSM and stay focused and positive. That’s what Mac and our nation need! Fellow patriotic PUMAcrats, keep your nose to the grindstone and carry on!

“I am Senator Government and approved this message.”

        • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

The inevitability and poll Trolls, that is.

      • John

I actually think that McCain has run a pretty damned crappy campaign and that Romney would be kicking Obama’s ass right now- there are only two reasons why this is even close, the compliant ultra-Pro-Obama media, and the generally suckiness of the McCain campaign.

I like and admire McCain and will vote for him, but it’s hard to imagine anyone ever using his campaign strategy (if he ever even had one) as a blueprint in the future, unless it’s titled How To Lose With Dignity.

        • PhxNickD

I agree, but McCain is in a very tough spot and no matter what he does will be labeled “wrong”. The sad part is that McCain is letting the interpretation of his campaign by the media drive his campaign. It is obvious he is listening to what is being said on these blogs but has still been careful.

It is now down to the wire – if McCain does not say F*ck it and pull out all the stops I fear he will lose.

They can be more stern and forceful. Hey I would love to see our outrage expressed more forcefully by Mac. As others have pointed out the GOP is good at winning presidential elections. I never thought I would wish them continued success but here I am in the Twilight Zone.

Also- when Ingraham, Hannity, etc. attack Obama, it’s on his economic views. When Air America hosts attack McCain, it’s on his AGE. Ingraham, Hannity etc. go after Joe Biden for his economic message and flubs on the stump. Air America hosts just giggle among themselves that Palin is a “dummy” and “Caribou Barbie.” Just total, light-as-air, issue-free fluff.

obama at last nights debate defending the outragous statements by former civil rights hero lewis:

OBAMA: I mean, look, if we want to talk about Congressman Lewis, who is an American hero, he, unprompted by my campaign, without my campaign’s awareness, made a statement that he was troubled with what he was hearing at some of the rallies that your running mate was holding, in which all the Republican reports indicated were shouting, when my name came up, things like “terrorist” and “kill him,” and that you’re running mate didn’t mention, didn’t stop, didn’t say “Hold on a second, that’s kind of out of line.”

No one shouted ‘kill him.’ At least according to the SS. Will obama and former civil rights hero lewis apologize for spreading false smears? Eight ball says no.

Also: in which all the Republican reports indicated

What the hell does obama mean by “all the Republican reports” ?

    I can count. 4 … 0 … 1. Do a google search: Democrats 401K.

    Amazing. Simply amazing.

    • Bellevue_NW_Voter The Renter

Oh my stars. Folks, do the search. They’re talking about getting rid of the existing tax breaks associated with 401K’s and “redirecting that money” in other ways related to retirement savings.

      Here’s one result, from http://www.thecitizen.com/~citizen0/node/32476:

Under Ms. Ghilarducci’s plan, all workers would receive a $600 annual inflation-adjusted subsidy from the U.S. government but would be required to invest 5% of their pay into a guaranteed retirement account administered by the Social Security Administration.

They better not go there, countryfirst….

      THEY BETTER NOT….

I like the idea of an incentive to save, but not as a REPLACEMENT for what we already have, which certainly saves me ten times $600 per year, as I put far more than 5% of my income into a tax-deferred 401K. $600 may sound attractive to someone making 30,000, who doesn’t currently contribute to a 401K or IRA and for whom $600 *IS* 5% of their income. Those people would get $600 in retirement savings basically “for free”, without impacting their take-home. But for those of us who are currently putting the tax-deferred max into our retirement accounts, it is a very bad deal that could increase our taxes by thousands a year.

    Our “liberal media”:

This one is getting passed around Democratic circles this morning though.

reuters uploads the type of photo that is routinely edited out. You just don’t see pictures of pols sneezing or picking their nose or scratching their ass. Those photos get edited out. You won’t find photos like that from a news service very often if ever until now. The “liberal media” has decided obama will be crowned king and will do whatever they can to make that happen.

ben smith gold star member of liars for obama:

    Joe’s bracket

Barack Obama today in Londenderry, NH, on McCain’s use of Joe the Plumber in last night’s debate, Carrie Budoff Brown reports.

“He is trying to suggest that a plumber is the guy he’s fighting for. How many plumbers do you know making a quarter of a million dollars a year?” he asked.

In fact, the plumber told Katie Couric last night that he’s actually in a bracket that would get a tax cut, not a tax hike, under Obama’s plan; but he hopes to move up.
    http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1008/Joes_bracket.htm

Joe the plumber said he was thinking of buying the plumbing company he worked for and his concern was obama’s plan to raise taxes on small business. So his current income is meaningless. Liars for obama members like smith treat their reads as rubes. And why shouldn’t they.

obama can lie at will, and he usually does, because the profession that is so important it is mentioned in the first amendment not only refuses to do their job but will willingly and knowingly lie for obama.

            Barky’s building a pile of bones…

In the New York Times Magazine article, Obama tries to explain a comment he made during his primary race against Hillary Clinton, during which he was quoted as saying to an audience in San Francisco that some working class voters “cling to guns or religion” in response to economic woes.

Obama calls that comment “my biggest boneheaded move,” adding that his point was to say that “these voters have a right to be frustrated” and their concerns shouldn’t be ignored.

    • barry bums a ciggie

    Hey Guy,

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on this rebuttal I had for an Obamadroid who happens to be a good client of mine. Here’s what he wrote.

I just wanted to respond to this email as I have been getting opposition emails about Obama all week (at least 15 of them). Remarkably, I have not seen any opposing McCain emails. Now you ask that I see the video before I cast the vote. Try not to think that everything in that video is fact. Most of these emails are floating around and originated by either people that are in McCain’s campaign or White radicals that have been trying to target Obama and implement him in what ever conspiracies they can. What’s in this email might be sought as a fact to some, but I just see a blatant attack on a presidential candidate that might actually change the way this country is for the good.. But because of the color of his skin & the religious background from which he came, all this election has become to McCain and his campaigners are a series of attacks. All they try to do is make up stuff and circulate manipulative information in order to degrade Obama’s reputation.. Just a serious of attacks !!! Rather then what an election should really be about, stating the real issues that everyday people are facing and putting together a game plan to make our nation better, both economically & morally. That has been Obama’s focus & agenda since the get go and not just putting together youtube video’s to attack his opponent.

We cant take another 4 years of a republican administration which will not differ much from the administration we are in today.

    • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

      My article:

      http://hillaryorbust.com/2008/10/obama-and-the-boy-who-cried-wolf/

This talks about how the left is blind to the truth about Obama because they wrongly assume it is a Karl Rove move.

I am still a registered Democrat – explain to him that there are many Hillary Democrats out there who are very concerned about Obama’s background and have been trying to get this info out since the primaries.

  • DemNoMore

    Here’s what I wrote!

About the email. I am not one to circulate emails around, much less false ones. I see you’re an adamant supporter of Obama and can certainly respect that. You claim you’ve gotten over 15 anti Obama emails and although I do not doubt it (there is a lot of nasty, vile stuff circulating out there agaisnt BOTH candiates), I am yet to receive one. I haven’t even received an anti MacCain email yet, but maybe that’s just me. The email that I sent you came personally from me after being made of aware of this video, which by the way is full of factual information. I can certainly understand your quickeness to dismiss it as “false and smear” based on your political preference, but I can assure you it’s factually true and urge you to research Obama’s association with “Odinga”- which is widely known by many, but largely ingnored by the Mainstream Media. By the way, I think you and I both can agree the Mainstream Media has been shamelessly and irresponsibly in the tank for Obama since the democratic primaries.

I can give you a million reasons why I am agaisnt Obama, but I doubt that will pursue yours, or any other Obama’s supporter’s mind, nor is that my intention. I will simply attempt, as briefly as I can, to make my case why this democrat will not and cannot vote for him.

First off in the spirit of disclosure, I am a democrat..always have been and always will be. Clinton, Gore and Kerry all got my vote! I just cannot, in good conscience, vote for someone who lacks the expereince necessary to get this country out of the mess that George Bush has left it in..no matter how eloquent his speeches may be and how much “good” he claims he will bring to the country. I cannot vote for him after watching his and his supporters’ behavior during the democratic primaries. The way they trashed and demonized the Clintons was just terrible, but yet the Mainstream Media covered for this guy every step of the day..they fell short of an early coronation! I know it’s become a major Obama “talking point” to link John McCain with Bush…a notion I strongly reject! John McCain is and has always been his own man. So much that his own party once sought to disown him. Can Obama say the same? What has ever accomplished? Does he have the judgment necessary to make the right decisions should a crisis arise? Why is it racist to question his radical associations with Wright, Ayers, Rezko, Acorn and now Odinga? Why are Liberals and the Mainstream Media so quick to scream “racist” when someone (like me) questions Obama’s past and experience? Does questioning Obama’s judgment and experience make me a racist? I’m not even white! You see Nick, I’ve always considered myself a fair-minded person. I just feel that if you’re going to cry foul for something that is being done to you when you, yourself have done or are doing exactly the same to the other side, well…you get the point!

Based on what we know about Obama (which isn’t much because the Mainstream Media doesn’t care to know, nor do they want us to know) I feel he just isn’t ready to lead this nation at a time when our very existence and relevance in the world is at stake. Even Joe Biden, who now shamefully trashes his old friend John MacCain any chance he gets after getting the VP nod, claimed “he’d be honered to run with John MacCain.” Even John Biden, who by the way voted for the Iraq war (which was the Left’s reasoning/excuse for savaging and vilafying Hillary Clinton any chance they got) said “Obama was not ready to be president.”

I’ve grown disgusted of the Mainstream Media in this country. Never in the history of this country has the Mainstream Media/Free Press try to influence an election as much as this year. They owe to be ashamed of themselves. Is John McCain going after Obama’s character? Sure! Pressing him on his past associations and his record is not racist, IT’S POLITICS! Obama’s campaign has been doing the same thing..on a larger scale to MaCain, but you barely hear anything from CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WashPost, AP, CBS and other liberal news outlets! You see Nick, it’s not that these guys are going after each other, it’s how the Mainstream Media portrays it as “one-sided” when you and I both know this isn’t true! The irony of it is that I never thought I’d be cricisizing my own party and those friendly to us, but I feel the truth must be told!

I could respect and perhaps vote for someone who claims he’s all about “change and hope”, even if his resume tells me otherwise, but to use race in order to dismiss and discredit legitimate cricism of him..I find that dishonarable and not worthy of the presidency of the United States of America.

Nothing in Obama’s resume tells me he’d be a good president. All I hear is “hope, change, black, young, not more of the same when referring to him and his campaign. All I hear coming from Obama and his campaign when referring to MaCain and Palin is “old, senile, more of the same, McSame, war criminal, erratic, dumb, cu*t and racist. All mean, vile, nasty, deplorable and condecending talking points.” It seems to me the Left’s hatred of George W Bush, which by the way I share, is so strong that they’re willing to gamble the country’s future on someone as inexperienced and questionable as Barack Obama. Yes we need change, but change takes experience, leadership, steadfastness, good judgment, and most of all- a history of past acomplishments and nothing in Obama’s past is indicative of that. RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!

On a last note, MacCain challenged Obama to 10 Townhall meetings prior to election day and after agreeing to meet him anytime, anywhere, Obama backtracked…as he did when it came to taking “public finance” for his campaign because he knew he’d have a cash advantage over McCain. I am sure the issues would have been discussed more thourghly by both sides during those meetings..including the democrats part in this financial crisis which again, the MSM nor Barack Obama care to discuss.

Obama may become the next president of the United States and people like you and other supporters of his will rejoice and dance in the streets- I just hope you guys made the right choice for the rest of us!

    p.s

Sorry aboout the long response..I just feel very passionate about this topic!

    • http://neverfindout.org/ McHope

Thank you for sharing your personal feelings and communications. It has been difficult for many of us as Obama’s campaign has succeeded in dividing friends and families just as he has divided people along racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, gender and religious lines.
Even more difficult is accepting that some of those we considered intelligent and thoughtful could be so influenced as to not see what is directly in front of them.

    • Susan1968

Yeah – Kos et all are going after Joe
but I think they don’t realize what they’re dealing with.

Joe The Plumber represents more people in the USA than the Kos kids blogging from Mom’s basement.

Joe the Plumber called Obama a socialist on TV. This will impact people on the fence.

Look – I come from NYC and moved to FL. I’m now a self employed advertising/marketing writer. I’ve worked in big ad agencies with la-di-da elites. But my roots are blue collar. My Dad was a NYC Cop.

Down here in FL I’ve seen Northeastern elites talk to very rich southern business owners as if they were idiots because they were slow talkers with southern accents and considered themselves good old boys who hunt and fish.

But as these elites looked down their noses at these guys, I’ve seen these good old boys manipulate them into well negotiated deals so fast the elites didn’t realize they were screwed until hours later.

When I went out on my own, I went on contract with a businessman near my home. He owns two businesses and a ton of commercial property in my area. He wears T-shirts, jeans and cowboy boots. He’s now a millionaire after selling a huge tract of land to a hospital. He bought that land over 20 years ago and sat on it, paying RE taxes because he knew the area would eventually go up in value. And in his two businesses he employs aout 20-30 people.

This is the profile of the small business owner. They don’t look for get-quick rich schemes like wall street brokers. They work hard and keep at it till they make it. They are the epitome of the American Dream.

But Obama Elites look down on these folks because they didn’t graduate Harvard or Yale.

My client tells people I’m his “NY advertising gal.” It’s a negoitating ploy.

We went into a meeting to negotiate a local cable TV advertising contract with a guy who relocated from NYC. The cable guy is essentially a salesman who works on commissions.

Before we go inside, my client tells me, “I’m going to play dumb hick and then you look like you empatheize with him, then we go in for the kill.”

We walk in — the cable salesman acted as if my client (a millionaire) was dirt on his shoes.

And damn – we walked out of there with a 50% discount on a year-long contract.

Because money talks and bullshite walks, My client had the cash in hand to squeeze this elite fellow.

For the next 5 years we’ve gotten the same deal because this guy didn’t want us to walk away with his easy commission.

There are millions of very smart, savvy Americans who make a lot of money in their own businesses yet are not Ivy League school graduates.

They’re highly aware of what’s going on and they’re not easily fooled.

As the elites attack Joe the Plumber they still can’t stop this average small business owner from getting out the message:

      “Obama is a socialist.”

I hope Joe keeps saying this in interviews:

      • typewriterstreaming

The jerk Obamabots I work with are saying “Joe was a plant…it’s obvious.” So, they completely ignore what Obama is saying about income redistribution and concentrate on Joe being a “plant”.

      • PhxNickD

Susan I am a graphic designer now, but have spent 22 years wearing a hardhat and work boots. I will always be blue collar to the core. Many say I will never be a successful designer because of that “blue collar” element of my personality, (I am really not concerned about that because I am actually proud of my work ethic). I totally get what you are saying and it is so accurate. The biggest part of the American population are those people you are talking about – hard workers who hope for a better life and are waiting and working for it. They are not greedy, looking for get rich quick schemes or wanting handouts.

Joe the plumber will have a very big impact on this campaign. The media does not need to report it, the American worker who was watching the debate last night will get it. I did. Very loud and clearly.

IMO, such unchecked, raw will to power belongs only insde the walls of an asylum.
If left uncontained, it will set the world aflame in its pursuit of total dominance.

      Ford:
Dumbfounded, but not really surprised, as that is their usual “MO” (method of operation). I really think that tactic will backfire, and Joe the Plumber may be the October surprise that wins this election for Johnny Mac. Wonder if Mac will try to celebrate by landing on an aircraft carrier ? I doubt it, since he has missed the wire before, and landed in the drink. Also, he has way more common sense than “W”, and knows that would be seen, even by his friends, as a dumb stunt. I wouldn’t mind seeing McCain’s Staight Talk Express bus pull up to Obama’s deflated victory celebration at Grant Park (in Chicago). He could then invite Barky over to the bus, and as Obama was getting ready to climb aboard, McCain would tell him, “No, not on the bus, but under the bus.”

Sarah Palin evoked the highlights of her running mate’s debate messages Thursday as she worked to pick up at least one of Maine’s four electoral votes.

Palin also evoked “Joe the Plumber,” and his female counterpart, Jane.

“You know, we want to cut taxes because we think like Joe or Jane the plumber thinks, OK?,” she said. “Our opponents want to raise taxes because they think like that other Joe, that six-term senator from Delaware whom I’m running against.”

  • Paul3triple

let them attack Joe the plumber. The left is missing the point entirely.
It is not joe the man. It is Joe the idea. THe idea that Joe has worked 10-12 hour days for years in hopes to buy a company but Senator Government is going to make taxes so high Joe is not sure if it will be worth it. Joe is trying to offer jobs. Senator Government wants to put a cap on his success.

Not to mention that if they dismantle Joe they dismantle every working american. They are saying how dare Joe ask Senator Government a question and challenge the logic of Obama “spreading the wealth around.” His wealth will be taken and put to use in Senator Government’s pet projects.
The idea Senator Government will help all america when he is a corrupt pol from chicago that never helped anyone but himself is absurd.

Joe has created the opening to destroy Senator Government’s theor of trickle up economics and capping(punishing success)
If the government is worried about debt and revenue get rid of programs and waste. Freeze earmarks and freeze government spending for a year.

McCain’s spending freeze is the best idea this cycle. Freez spending and then review all of the programs. Alot of programs were created decades ago. Or they have 5 different programs for the same thing yet none of them work or do anything that brings results. We could probably cut our government in half with McCain’s idea.
He is right. We do not need more government. We need less that is cost effective and run thoroughly.
We spend more on education than any country yet we have some of the worse schools. Instead of increasing funding find better ways to put it to use and cut out programs that do not work

Senator Government is basically saying that he has no faith in the american poeple. We are all to dumb to manage our lives so he wants our money and HE will decide how to spend it for us and who gets what HE thinks WE deserve.
Say no to more government. Say yes to McCain and an efficient cost effective government.

    • wodiej

well said…I will add on the school issue, locally our students are not passing ISTEP but the schools love to spend money on in ground pools and baseball stadiums then ask for a billion dollars for a bunch of wasteful unneeded projects. We started a petition drive and defeated it so no billion dollars. New law now says things like this will be voted on. The superintendent even spent $250,000 for someone to do a study on the need for the project!

      • Paul3triple

exactly, we have one of the best Football teams in Central PA where i live and the school spends loads on new sports stuff and the school is based on football. If you do play your treated special and so on. If you do not then they could care less because your not stroking their egos.
Instead of education funding it all goes to sports. As well as pet projects as you said.
It is not the amount of dollars you use. It is HOW you use the dollars.
Instead of money we need innovative ideas that are put to good use. McCain made a great point that you cannot throw money at the problem. That is basically appeasement. Someone complains about their school and government says well we sent you a check for X amount.
Fuck a check, i want good education for my daughters.

        • Snickers

In my area a couple of years ago, we passed a multi-million dollar levy to tear down old schools and build new ones. At one of the meetings I attended people were asking the leaders of this drive, what about new text books and teachers’ salaries. The response was we’ll do that next time. The reason they wanted to tear down the old schools was that there was no money for maintenance and the schools were in disrepair. I talked to my local school board member and asked her if they had put maintenance money into this multi-million dollar levy. The answer: NO. Of course I voted against it, but it passed just the same. I’m sure that as soon as we finish paying off this levy, we’ll be tearing down the old schools, and building new ones again. As for the new text books and teachers’ salaries: That bond measure was defeated because we were on the brink of a recession. I don’t have children but have always voted for improved education because children are our future, but somehow we (as a society) have forgotten that little saying my parents always told me: Money doesn’t grow on trees, or maybe you can scratch it off my back…

OMG! joe the plumber does not have license:

‘Plumber’ says he has no plumbing license

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Joe the Plumber, American’s most famous tradesman, said Thursday he doesn’t have a license and doesn’t need one.

… said he works for a small plumbing company that does residential work. Because he works for someone else, he doesn’t need a license, he said.
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27207215/

OMG! joe doesn’t need a license. obama lies continously but the big story is a guy that doesn’t need a plumbing license doesn’t have one.

    • Andrew

He doesn’t need a license. He is an employee. Duh!!!! Where have you been?

    • barry bums a ciggie

OMG, Barry Soetoro doesn’t have the license to be president either in forms of a full real birth certificate!!!

Why are these aholes scrutinizing Joe the Plumber? Since when is Joe running for public office? Another attack and distract tactic? Sure smells like it.

    • PhxNickD

So do you think every commercial tradesman or tradeswomen who work for a commercial business each hold a commercial license? Do you even know what is required to be a “licensed” contractor?

  • IronMan

The IBD/TIPP poll, the most accurate in 2004, has McCain down by only 3 points. If the contest is perceived by the voters as a contest between a wealth redistributor and a wealth creator, then it could be a long night come Nov. 4 for Obama. This is still a center-right country, gang. And Americans do not like politicians putting a cap on their American dream and robbig them of their hardwork and sacrifice by taking their hard earned money and spreading it around. Obama is getting exposed!

Note this Gallup poll from June:

When given a choice about how government should address the numerous economic difficulties facing today’s consumer, Americans overwhelmingly—by 84% to 13%—prefer that the government focus on improving overall economic conditions and the jobs situation in the United States as opposed to taking steps to distribute wealth more evenly among Americans.

Keep hitting Obama every single day and expose his radical socialist agenda!

    Country First!

Well last night, toward the end of the debate, I’m sure I heard Obama say “the other 50 states”, but I hadn’t been paying attention, and I was too tired to rewind to see what the hell he was talking about. But either way, there is no “other” once you get to 50 states. Today after work I’ll have to check it out – it was probably within the last 5-10 minutes

  • Andy

    LJ:

Exactly!! I don’t understand why anybody has yet asked them 95% of WHAT? Certainly not of “Americans”.

At best it is 80% of the working class and 40% of the middle class who file taxes.

    This is from 2006:

During 2006, Tax Foundation economists estimate that roughly 43.4 million tax returns, representing 91 million individuals, will face a zero or negative tax liability. That’s out of a total of 136 million federal tax returns that will be filed. Adding to this figure the 15 million households and individuals who file no tax return at all, roughly 121 million Americans—or 41 percent of the U.S. population—will be completely outside the federal income tax system in 2006.1 This total includes those who pay no tax, and those who pay some tax upfront and are later refunded the full amount of the tax paid or more.

      correction : hasn’t yet asked

  • http://none Jessie Britton

Of course the entire media and my morning paper claims Obama won a major victory. I did not see it that way! The three major polling organizations, Rasumussen has Obama by 4, which represents a pick up of 1 percent for McCain, which also represents 3 percent over the last six days. Gallup has Obama up by 6 , which also is a pick up of 1 more for McCain and makes it a total of 5 for the week. Zogby has Obama by 5, and here it was a loss of 1 for McCain. All these were tracking polls over a three day period. What do these numbers tell us? The average is five and all are within 1 point of that number. These are about as close to being right as those other bullsh*t polls of 10 to 12 to 14 for Obama. Not only does McCain have to put up with a biased media, he now has to put up with members of his own party. Some are bitterly complaining that he is not going hard enough on Obama and some are complaining that he is going to hard. Some are bad mouthing his leaving some states and others because they think he going to the wrong states. I believe that they are doing their own internal polling and they know where they need to be!

How close a relative? Fifth cousin to someone’s son-in-law? Last time I checked that’s not what you call a blood relative.

Play the six degrees of separation game — you’re probably hooked into the Keating 5 also.

You guys must be unemployed if you have time to dig up this stuff. You want Obama to send you a check.

      • John Smith

Oh Joe hit a nerve with you people. You know that you have already lost the election. Now that Obama will be defined as a socialist who wants to take peoples money and give to the once that did not work for it. The more you attack Joe the more we will back him.

        • Andrew

Yep, Obama should shut his mouth and stop the bleeding.

      • PhxNickD

You know what – every single Joe/Jane-six-pack will be looking at Joe/Jane-the-Plumber and say I can relate to that guy. Every single one. We do not care who his relatives are or what his relatives did. Having a license is irrelevant. Joe the plumber busts he ass every single day for a living (if you know what trades people do, you will understand, if you support Obama you wont. IT IS that plain and simple.)

Joe the plumber is also not just a plumber nor a family man, I can guarantee you Joe the plumber is a proud American and will venture further that he does not appreciate that a potential President would have been friends with a terrorist or someone like Rev Wright.

People this is middle America and this is where my hope lies for McCain to be our next President.

SO WHAT? What I really want to know is how is Joe the Plumber related to Kevin Bacon ? Now go find out and get back to us, OK ?

This is ridiculous. They want to ruin this man for speaking out against Nobama. Haven’t you ever heard of six degrees of separation? So what if he is somehow related to Keating. It was Obama that initially talked to him. Stop trying to spread crap.

      • ks

“There’s no question Western Pennsylvania is a racist area.”

    Congressman John Murtha
    October 15, 2008

I can’t believe Rep. Murtha would start carrying the race card for Senator Government! I am very disappointed in Murtha!

    Pathetic!

The Race Card – Obama never leaves home without it!

    • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

Could it be he did this to hurt Senator Government? Think about it: the race card will only further inflame the nation including many black people who are tired of it! And Murtha just motivated Western Pennsylvania to come out in mass for McCain. It was racist of Murtha to accuse the whole area of being racist.

I find it abhorrent the race card is being played but if they chose to play it, it only hurts The Precious. Since he has done very little to stop the card we can only assume he is entirely supportive of it of not behind it.

      • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

if not behind it, that is.

    • Phillymiss

First of all, let me say that I am not now, nor have I ever been a troll!

Secondly, I did live in western PA for awhile. It has been an economically disadvantaged area for years and there is an element of working class whites that are quite bigoted against minorities.

      • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

You don’t go around using a broad brush and paint all the citizens pf an area as racists even if what you are saying is true. That is racist. Period.

        • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

To clarify: that was the generic “you,” not necessarily you in particular, although you seem to be defending Murtha. “An element of” is not sufficient proof a whole area is racist.

Didn’t Biden only get 8000 votes in the Dem primary to HRC’s 18,000,000? That statistic in my opinion speaks volumes. Apparently BO, just like Joe Biden, couldn’t count either when it came to tallying up those votes and then choosing a running mate. I’m not impressed with either Joe or BO. The DNC screwed our country over big time when it bulldozed HRC out of the picture in favor of their “Chosen One” with his flimsy resume and his unpatriotic associations. With the tightening of the race in the Gallup Poll, it looks like America may be finally waking up and smelling the Marxism.

  • http://dakiniland.wordpress.com Dakinikat

Last night on the debate, Obama said that Biden had never forgotten the little guy and that he always fought for the little guy.

Will some one please remind senator obama that Biden is responsible for the current nasty bankruptcy bill we have that obama himself has promised to reform and that Biden is responsible for lifting usury laws for the credit card companies too?

Biden is a fighter for credit card companies charging double and triple digit rates as well as folks as basically making suicide looking preferable to bankruptcy for those same credit card companies.

I just wish McCain would’ve brought that up during that discussion.

He can obviously add numbers JUST FINE when it’s to the benefit of the credit card companies.

Need to find out McCain voted on that bankruptcy bill before we can say that he missed an opportunity to make a point in last night’s debate.

I just got back from driving back and forth taking people to the polls, our EV started today. Anyway, I picked up two AA civilians that needed a ride since we were headed off post and going the same place. But what I found interesting at the time before they chopped my head off was there conversation. Me being me, I was attempting to listen without being obvious because I had already made up my mind that they were both for Obama. sigh.. I know,if I could turn back the hands of time… I get mad when people do it to me..but anyway they were talking about the prices of things going up etc etc….and one of the ladies began talking abou how just a month ago, certain things at SAMS club were cheaper. Then the other one said, “well we need to go ahead and stock up” before McCain gets in, he already said what he was going to do last night”

yeah it suprised me and nosy as I am I asked if they were voting for Obama. I shit you not, these ladies looked at me as if I was on crack and started giving ME a damn speech on why would I vote for Obama.” I should know better because of my job”…”thats what is wrong with you young people today not thinking about the consequences of there actions”…..”he doesnt have experience”…all the while the other one was shaking her head at me like I didnt have any Godd@mn sense. It was a 15 passenger van so everyone heard it.There were two E6s and a E7 but the rest of the people riding with me I outranked so I had reached a level beyond piste off. I really wanted to put them heffa’s off on the side of the street because they didnt give me time to say jackshit before jumping down my throat.

THEN when we get there, and I swear they were still shaking there damn heads while they were in line. The E7 pulls me to the side and tells me not to be upset and that they were just basically saying I should think about my choices with something so important considering the impact it will have on not just me. Since I couldnt cut him off, when he was finished I told him that I was just ASKING a question, one in which they didnt allow me to finish. He gave me that uh huh yeah right look like I was changing my story because they put me on the spot. Me. A Obama supporter. Unfreakinbelievable. I have been called many things during this election but a “Obama supporter” was never one of them.

    • PhxNickD

I have been on these blogs since the middle of February. The presidential primary was done here in AZ before I got so interested so I never was able to go out and work for Hillary (now I am glad about that.) But I have been sitting here being frustrated for the past 8 months. Yesterday I got off my ass and went down McCain Hdqtrs. and started making calls for McCain. What a way to relieve the pent up fustration. I will be there several hours a day almost every day until election. And I love telling all my democrat friends what I am up to.

Here is the interesting thing – 1/2 of the people there were under 30 and many looked like college students. I was talking with the women next to me about her college daughter voting McCain, and as I left and was turing in my sheets a women was at the desk getting bumper stickers and yard signs and had asked for 2 extra stickers for her kids who were in college.

We seem to think every young American is voting for Obama. We seem to think that every AA is voting Obama. We seem to think not many PUMAs will be voting for McCain. I am just paying attention to what is going on around me. I did not do that in 2004 when I saw so many bumper stickers and yard signs for Kerry here. We know how that went.

Oh and btw when I said I was a former democrat they LOVED it.

What Obama will not state, because I think he doesn’t understand, it that the S-Corp – small business – owners that pay the taxes on either earnings or gross receipts of more than 250K, are doing this as a company and not an individual. The owners do not keep those earnings, though they solely pay taxes on them. Those earnings stay in the bank to pay for next month’s payroll for all of the employees working for the small business.

So as Obama says that 98% of small business make less than 250K (BS), those that make more are supporting an even larger number of employees per company. Obama has turned this into class warfare by stating that this is person against person. What it is, though is person against a group of people comprising a corpus, the small business.

Is this guy a joke or what.
Laugh, but what happens when Obama fails to qualify for POTUS.
He currently has three (3) law suits

1 in PA, 1 in Wa, and another in UT, over his birth certificate.
He refuses to produce the long copy which has witinesses and doctor who were there when he was born.
The only witinesses that have come forward and said they were there at his birth, are all HIS relatives and they were in Kenya!

So what DOES his birth certificate say?

So when Obama fails to qualify Biden will be President. Then another VP is selected.

    The media better wake up!
Things could get REAL ugly, REAL fast.
Then the backlash at the media is gonna be something to see.

    This is serious.

    • Touchet

What is serious is that the courts are not taking these law suit seriously. Its like they don’t care. It would be a bloody mess if they did that.
