McCain Kills

If this John McCain had been on the campaign trail for the last two months he would be ahead by ten points. Here is McCain from tonight’s Al Smith Dinner in New York City. McCain took it to Obama and skewered him magnificiently.

Part I:

Part II:

Tonight we saw the man who should be President. Hopefully this John McCain stays on the campaign trail.

  • Seattle Moss

This was the best moment of the campaign.
Kieth Oberbite in a padded room
McCain told him where he could stick it!!!!

    Obama’s numbers are crashing

  • EightBelles

I agree! John McCain rocked! Too bad this John McCain hasn’t shown up until tonight. He looked so much more energized than while campaigning or debating. When he took a few punches at Chris (Tingle Leg) Matthews and Keith Olbermann, he nearly brought the house down. Barack Obama delivered a few good one liners but none as funny as those expertly served by John McCain.

  • Ani

In a word, brilliant. Larry, thanks for posting this. McCain really did ‘kill’!!

    Superb.

  • kavala007

I absolutely loved the video. It was great. I just laughed throughout the entire 7 minutes. Thank you.

  • Lizzie Struthers

The best thing about this clip? Without a shadow of a doubt?

    Seeing Hillary.

  • James

“I just know Bill would like to be out there now stumping for Barack until the last hour of the last day. Unforutantely, he is contrained by his respect for any voters who might be observing the Zoroastrian New Year.”

    HAHAH!!

  • James

    Yea she looked great.

  • KathyNeocon

    Love this!!!!! Ef-fing Hi-Larious!!!

Such a refreshing change to see McCain being so funny, and Obama and Hillary laughing their heads off. Great stuff!! You can tell they ALL had a great time.

  • Merry

OMG, that was hilarious! Good going John.

  • heather

    Wow. That is funny!

  • pm317

McCain was great. OTOH the teleprompter king was flat without his gadget. He is best doing his tennis thingy in a stadium without looking at or interacting with his minions. He lacks a sense of humor and so do his minions.

  • Seattle Moss

    This was payback for McCain.
The setting was right and he had the enemy right where he wanted them.
The narrative had to written. The evidence needed to be in…and then McCain attacked.

    Game Changer today!!!

  • KC

    Thanks for posting that, Larry!

  • lisa in va

I was just going to say that!

I cringed everytime O spoke. Yuck. And then he gives a punchline, pauses a moment (for it to sink into his own head) and then chuckles. Doofus.

  • Karma

I heard this on Sirius while running errands.

You are right….he killed! I was laughing the whole time.

Obama…eh…it was easy to leave the car.

Came back here to see what NQ had posted on it.

    Knew it would be here.

  • http://barbarany_9.blogspot.com Barbara

    OMG I can’t breathe… I’m crying, I am laughing so hard.

Take that you Obots who think McCain doesn’t know what’s going on around him!

  • Mr. X

McCain does have a great sense of humour. I still can’t get over that other video where he sings. My stomach still hurts from that one.

  • Seattle Moss

    I love my Sirius radio..
Listen to Hannity on Patriot 144.. 12-3pm

But now my favorite is the Great one…3-5pm

    Mark Levin

  • Tim O

Obama slayed tonight! I would say he swept all the debates and roasts.

Why don’t you post his performance?

  • lisa in va

The video of him singing Streisand was probably the funniest thing I’ve ever saw. Loved it! You betcha!

  • Tim O

    bitter and jealous. sad really.

    pum- wahhhhhhhhhh!

  • Alice Paul WPB

    J Mac on David Letterman.

    Dave: What happened?

    J Mac: I screwed up!!

I’m sure most of you know the story of how he canceled Letterman at the last minute and Letterman has been ripping on him.

Thank goodness we could have a man in the WH that could admit he was wrong.

  • Mandelay

Larry, thank you so much for this. I was afraid I would not get to see it. Mac is great … and it’s good to see Hills getting some good laughs. This was really sweet!!!!!

  • SnarlingCur

They’re on American Right on XM Radio too.

  • Seattle Moss

You left out the word Got

Mac’s sharp wit is not Opampers only problem today. I’m confident Mac is gonna send The Precious packing back to Rezko manor.

    For Immediate Release
    October 16, 2008

    Statement On ACORN Investigation

ARLINGTON, VA — Today, McCain-Palin 2008 campaign manager Rick Davis released the following statement in response to the FBI’s investigation of ACORN:

“Given the fact the FBI has launched a nationwide investigation into the questionable voter registration practices of ACORN, it is imperative that Barack Obama’s campaign cooperate fully with this important investigation. To date, in public announcements including last night’s debate, Barack Obama has attempted to conceal and distort his and his campaign’s relationship with a group that is currently engaging in systematic voter fraud. Barack Obama’s campaign must fully disclose the true nature of his association with ACORN, including:

The total disclosure of all funds, including $832,000 from Barack Obama’s campaign to ACORN and ACORN affiliations like Citizens Services, Inc.

Any and all information the Obama campaign has related to ACORN’s database of registered voters compiled during this election cycle.

The total disclosure of coordination between Barack Obama’s campaign, ACORN, and ACORN affiliations over the entirety of this election cycle.

The truth behind ACORN’s hiring of get-out-the-vote workers on Barack Obama’s behalf in Ohio during this election cycle.

“In the spirit of a fair election Barack Obama should assist in this process prior to Election Day.”

  • Mike

    OMG!!!! Speechless….

Dem for McCain……great to see Hillary laugh again…..:-)

  • Bellevue_NW_Voter The Renter

Completely agreed, Larry and Seattle Moss. That was a phenomenal appearance by McCain. Where’s THAT “that one” been all this time? (His numbers in the all-important “But would you like to have a beer with him?” metric have to have gone up.)

I hope McCain starts putting this kind of humor into his campaign appearances. He seemed quite at ease and comfortable with what he was saying, poking fun at the absurdity of the Obama phenomenon and the media without being mean-spirited about it, and he just came across very positively.

The frozen smile on Obama during the discussion of ACORN voter registrations was telling. LOL, did you notice that he dared not move, let alone change his expression, except to stroke his chin?

  • Seattle Moss

    Levin was exceptionally good today!!

    http://marklevinshow.com/

  • http://Q Diana L. C.

It feels so good to laugh aloud! I’ve been so tense about this election. But this was absolutely hilarious.

Just KEEP IT GOING! It gives me hope.

  • SnarlingCur

I think the more Americans see his sense of humor, the more they will come his way.

  • Bell’Artista

Yes Johnny Mac was great tonight…..
Was that snark/ a hint of something when he said Obama was a “citizen”?

Also, Obama’s joke about Giuliani as a “cross dresser” fell a little flat, I think.

Obama has no sense of humour

  • imustprotest

That was nice wasn’t it! I miss Hillary, I miss Bill! Not the people who stump and kiss a@# for that scumbag Oba/sortoro….the old Bill and Hill….the one’s who cared about this country and would never have allowed the terrorist sympathizer Obama/Sortoro anywhere near the WH.

  • Merry

    http://www.marklevinshow.com/audio/#

Everyone should go to Mark Levine’s website and download the audio from Tues 10/14. It is a very detailed explanation of Obama and his Saul Alinsky following. Mark read straight out of the book and compares what it says to what Obama is doing. Very chilling. The first 1/2 hour or so from his Monday 10/13 show is excellent too. Mark Levin puts his shows up almost imediately and they are free, you don’t have to sign up for anything.

  • Seattle Moss

Going after Rudy was just stupid!!
    Give the guy a break!!

  • Docelder

Actually that’s the part he left off. I think it was by design. McCain is a crafty old fox.

  • imustprotest

Obama’s “performance” was flat….he gave a talking point speech…he has no sense of humor due to his Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

  • Seattle Moss

    That was awesome and scary!!!
Obama is a product of Saul Alinsky and the middle class have been convinced that they are victims and need to be saved with a Marxist takeover.

The middle class don’t realize that this is a socialist revolution…The Alinsky way!

  • KathyNeocon

    LOL Seattle!!

I heard Levin the other day.

Thanks to you tipping the board about channel 144…lol

    He was really good.

I tried listening to the Indie channel today…nope in the bag for Obama….off it went for FoxNews 131.

Just in time for the Mac Attack!

  • Seattle Moss

We saw Hillary at her finest this year.
    What a shame!
The smartest most eloquent and beautiful candidate we ever had..

  • KathyNeocon

Me too. I’m now a Republican and still miss the Clintons–love them, and they both love this Country.

  • imustprotest

typical….how low will they go? What won’t they do to kiss Obama’s a@# because they are in the tank for Obama? MSM = Obama propaganda machine

Sarah Palin to appear on SNL

(CNN) — Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin plans to appear on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, multiple sources told CNN Thursday.

  • Paul3triple

look Mac struck back tonight. Obama seemed petty and childish. His jokes were really not good for the guy who said he slayed, your either deaf or have a sense of humor as bad as Obama.

McCain really rolled that place. If you listen to Obama he got booed when he made fun of AIG for failing. He had a real twisted sense of humor.

I loved this. It was the funniest i have seen in this debate. McCain was hillarious. At the same time he got some sharp digs on Obama that were so good obama was in stitches laughing at how dumb senator government is.

The clinton routine was apreciated alot by me, a former supporter. I would not be surprised if ALL of her supporters loved it.

Obama made some weird joke about telling Hillary the event was moved so she would not be there.
Honestl, Senator Government was his typical crude, humorless, aloof, and detached self.

  • KathyNeocon

So true. If Joe the Plumber was for Obama, it’d be hands-off from the MSM. They’d sing his praises. Instead they’re trying to destroy him. Disgusting.

  • Seattle Moss

I love to park my car in crowded places and crank up Mark Levin…
I know those Latte liberals can hear my impressions of Levin..

  • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com InsightAnalytical-GRL

I was actually thinking this morning that the RNC and 527s should do their negative bit, but McCain should go back to doing those humorous ads like he did at the beginning…needle the hell out of Obama’s lies about his ACORN ties, for example…I can imagine a little talking squirrel nibbling at an acorn in an ad….

  • http://investigatebarackobama.blogspot.com/ kat in your hat

    This shit is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John McCain rocked it! OMG, is this the full footage, I haven’t watched these clips yet. OMG. McCain called out the media–Chris Matthews/ Keith Olbermann//etc, and then he made crazy fun jokes about Hillary/ Bill, and then ACORN, etc

Holy crap–so damn funny! For the love of G. I needed this.

Obama was not as funny. Earlier in the evening John was mucking it up with my cardinal of NY at the dinner table, and Obama’s arms were crossed! No, no, man.

    It’s a roast.
So we have the full tape here? I am running around cooking a big meal (jambalaya) for a party.

I am drinking beer too! McCain–thank goodness for you. You made me LAUGH! Hillary thought you were hilarious as well.

    Fun night.

  • johnqpublic

lets e-mail and send the message. i have 10 friends that have done this already, lets make it thousands……come on people it only takes a few minutes

  • http://medusa2.wordpress.com Medusa

That was fabulous. It’s amazing what you can say in humor that you can’t say in debate. Excellent job, Mac. Keep it up!!

PUMAs for Mac and the Barracuda!

  • Seattle Moss

    Hey Bellevue.,,

I found it interesting how Oblahma kept looking around nervously laughing like he didn’t know what to do and was looking for help.

I enjoyed seeing Couric squirm, as she was busted for her lies and bias…

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

The clinton routine was apreciated alot by me, a former supporter. I would not be surprised if ALL of her supporters loved it.

PUMAs should take solace in what Mac said. His joke was a hint he knows she wants Opampers to lose so she can run in 2012. Many PUMAs have been saying she will pull the lever for Mac. I agree.

  • Liz B

    Awesome, thanks for the post.

The Obama/ACORN machine has hit an all time, despicable low. Watch this video where they are forcing disabled adults to vote for Obama. They make me sick.

    Re-posted from below.

Here is a good link to McCain’s whole presentation at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner.
    http://www.necn.com/Boston/Politics/McCain-jokes-about-Joe-the-Plumber-at-Al-Smith-dinner/1224209964.html

Everyone, please, distribute the video of this appearance. Of all the significant truisms in his remarks couched as political roast, the best line was this.

“We all know that Senator Obama is ready for any contingency. Even the possibility of a sudden and dramatic market rebound. I’m told that at the first sign of recovery he will suspend his campaign and fly immediately to Washington to address this crisis.”

Biting humor for which he is famous.

  • McHope

Comparing the host and guests to AIG was little too edgy, also.

And he was definitely not as sincere and elaborate when he complimented Sen McCain as McCain was to him.
That speaks volumes about the two men.

  • jbjd

    Kat, see my post below.

  • NoBO

McCain was funny as hell at that roast! He rocked!

I’m watching him on Letterman. Geez. Letterman mentioned Gordon Liddy. Geez. One day back in 1987 when I was working at a think tank on Capitol Hill, I went to a gym on the Hill to work out over lunch. I got on an exercycle and a man got on the one next to me. I looked over and, geez, it was G. Gordon Liddy. I nearly fell off the bike but I sat there and kept peddling.

Trying to equate Obama’s relationship with Ayers with McCain’s relationship with Liddy is ridiculous.

They just concluded. Man, I used to like Letterman but he’s a real jerk.

  • imustprotest

    ya think?

    NObama

    McCain/Palin08

  • McHope

If they do the ‘I can see Russia from my house’ routine yet again, I hope Gov Palin asks if Obama can see Ayers and Farrakhan from his house.

The shame is Tina Fey does not deserve the courtesy and good will she will recieve from the Governor.

  • Karma

    LOL…in Seattle…that must be fun.
Geez…you could throw a rock into a crowd and be guaranteed to hit a Latte liberal.

I will have to try it…open the sunroof and sit back and watch the looks.

On the way home it crossed my mind that all the Senators that used to be high on my list…are blowhards!

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

    Your welcome!

After what that evil The Precious did to Hillary and our sacred right to fair reflection of our votes, revenge will indeed be a dish best served cold. A cold jail cell would be best but I will settle for a president Mac.

  • steel magnolia

This was the best speech I’ve ever seen at one of these functions. He blew everyone away! My whole household was roaring in laughter. He got in perfect digs at everyone and especially the “downstream” media. He got more and louder applause than anyone there.

This should be our next president – a wise, humble, funny and patriotic man.

  • imustprotest

Gov Palin is a gracious and kind person. Something the so called “progressives” have no understanding.

  • McHope

    Forgot to add..
McCain was far more funny than anything on Saturday Night Live in years. Mac was Hilarious!

  • http://investigatebarackobama.blogspot.com/ kat in your hat

Thank you! OMgawsh, isn’t this great! McCain is so funny–I can’t take it! Thanks.

Holy crap–you guys. I am a stressed out puma. This is dancin’ around the apartment fun. :P

  • AnninCA

Very funny material….and well delivered. Boy, I think everyone needed that!

  • jbjd

You understand, he was not only going after Guilianni but also McCain; that is, he minimized JMc’s win over that man in the primary, as opposed to his ‘win’ over HRC, which win he joked gave him ‘gray hairs.’

  • Karma

    I agree.

And you’re right. That joke about Hillary not getting the right info was rude.

  • lark

Letterman. He struggles with the idea that a woman can be a good president. He refuses to accept the idea that a woman can be a good vice-president and partner in a presidential ticket. Letterman fights the notion that a woman with children can exercise the office of the presidency. Letterman, deep inside woman are not to be trusted, less capable, not dependable, and doubtful.

Letterman. He already forgot what terrorist did to New York city. Letterman, thinks that all terrorists are not alike. Some terrorist, like Ayers obviously do not pose a threat to Letterman, to CBS properties, or to New York city. Letterman thinks that Ayers is a good terrorist. No problem for a candidate for president to have a friend that was and is an unrepentant washed up terrorist.

  • Bellevue_NW_Voter The Renter

He seemed to be checking out, “Hey, wait, what does everyone else think of this?”, because he needed to know how to react.

  • AnninCA

They look like the nuts they are with this hit piece. Good gosh, even the obama supporters at dinner tonight were hooting over how the press is acting.

  • Texas Playwright

Priceless! I was so pleased to see Hillary laughing out loud–like she always does–at a good joke on her. Hillary and John have a true sense of perspective, which inspires their great sense of humor.

Thanks again, Hillary, for letting We the People see your class.

  • Karma

Remember McCain announced his Presidency on Letterman.

You would think he would be appreciative of that fact alone.

It isn’t like Letterman’s guests do that everyday.

  • Seattle Moss

Karma…I’m glad you’re having fun listening to Levin.

    BTW…

    Mac was hilarious!

  • McHope

I wasn’t positive that was her ( Couric), but I got the same impression. She seemed very uncomfortable, looked like she was praying Mac didn’t mention her by name, LOL.

  • Paul3triple

Obama’s joke on Rudy was bad on a couple levels. The worst was the bit about as a R having a hard time as a cross dressing Mayor from new york winning the nomination in a republican race. Suggesting republicans are mostly homophobes.
Honestly, i thought he looked dumb. After the joke above he burst out giggling.

McCain also showed the character he has. He praised obama and congratulated.

That is why in the end Mac will win. He IS the better man. It has been a long time since we had a president with such dignity and honor and candor.

  • http://investigatebarackobama.blogspot.com/ kat in your hat

    Ha ha..I am so happy..

  • Susan1968

I read this in an article — I love this one:

“So, you know I have fun with the media. We all know that the press is really an independent, civic-minded and non-partisan group … like ACORN.

“In case you haven’t been following my opponent’s ‘Get Out The Vote’ campaign, ACORN is helping to register groups that were previously excluded, overlooked and under-served – second-graders, the deceased, Disney characters.”

  • KathyNeocon

    I e-mailed them.

  • DisenfranchisedVoter

Hillary looked beautiful tonight. It’s great to see her laugh and enjoy herself again. Hopefully Big Dog and everyone here will have the last laugh on election night when the Messiah gets his ass handed to him by the Maverick.

  • noepiphany

mac was brilliant. couldn’t stop laughing, but not laughing at acorn:

ACORN active in voter registration in county
High rate of “red flag” registrations noted
By Hiram Soto and Helen Gao
    UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITERS
The community organizing group that presidential candidate John McCain said on Wednesday night “may be destroying the fabric of democracy” has been active in San Diego County, submitting more than 26,000 voter registration forms.
Robert A. Pennisi, the county’s chief deputy of voter services, said the office has seen red flags in 17 percent of registrations collected by ACORN. Voter drives by other organizations usually have a rejection rate of less than 5 percent, he said…
From January to September, ACORN gathered 26,513 registrations in the county, and 4,655 of those were flagged by the registrar’s office because the forms lacked signatures, birthdays or valid addresses, or they were filled out by underage residents, among other reasons.
The problem rate ranged from a low of 12.9 percent of forms submitted in February to a high of 23.5 percent in May, Pennisi said.
The 4,655 registrations raised initial red flags but upon further review, the registrar was able to validate 2,806 of those.
ACORN’s main organization in California downplayed the numbers, blaming issues on problem workers.
“They are trying to scare people that there’s electoral fraud. But that’s not the case,” said Amy Schur, speaking from Los Angeles. “This is not about people who should not vote and are going to vote.”
But Pennisi said ACORN’s high rate of incomplete or inaccurate registrations continued even after workers underwent special training by county staff in March on how to properly register voters.
“The numbers were getting out of sync. It wasn’t normal,” Pennisi said. “When we started charting it in January month by month, we were finding those anomalies.” ..

Letterman’s an ass, and just another angry liberal. Always has been. Always will be.

  • http://investigatebarackobama.blogspot.com/ kat in your hat

O cut at Giuliani because he hit him hard at the republican convention. In NYC, though, none of that was a big deal–it was SNL–Giuliani was, I guess, trying to prove a point–that he was masculine enough to dress in drag. It’s nyc–kinda weird.

So, O cut him back. O’s jokes were personal and internal, not as funny as McCain–jokes that hit us all who are watching.

    I am happy, you?

  • Skip

I wrote CBS and told them that, after 25 years of watching David Letterman, I’m done with him.

Letterman’s hatchet job on McCain was despicable. McCain, who by the way had the guts to come back on the show after Dave has been slamming him relentlessly for weeks, he should have put Letterman in his place. Gordon Liddy versus Bill Ayers? Really, Dave?

After all these years, Dave has shown his true colors: he’s simply a classless talking head.

He’s ignorant because he doesn’t know/or care about the facts about Obama’s past.

And he’s a misogynist. He belittles Palin (and women in general) any chance he can. I wonder if that’s why after having a son with his girlfriend, he still won’t marry her?

He and Keith Olberman make a nice pair.

    John McCain
44th President of the United States

  • Mollye

    He did get booed!!

  • IndieDogg

You know, fellow citizens, this was not merely a spot of humor in an otherwise bleak, negative campaign. It was a glimpse of the true Mac McCain.

And something occurs to me, perhaps allowed to the surface because I was able to let my own guard down tonight and laugh my ass off. Did you see Hillary; she was dying over there, in a good way.

And Obama, oddly enough, in the lightest moment to date in the campaign, looked totally out of his league. Dazed and Confused, to borrow a movie title.

    A thought for your consideration.

We have roundly criticized The One and his supplicants for basing his entire campaign on “Looking Presidential” rather than on substance and depth.

Tonight, I saw something remarkable and I’m wondering if, in fact, John McCain has, himself, been too focused on “Looking Presidential” rather than being the quick-witted and somewhat mischievous former fighter pilot (trust me, Navy pilots, or just about any jet pilot, are a bit rowdy, to engage in gross understatement — please, chime in on this one — it’s meant as a compliment) that he truly is.

    Tonight?

By trying less to “Look Presidential” John McCain looked more like “The President”.

I love irony. I just wish it had showed up a little sooner. Jeez, John, you sure know how to make us sweat. Where the hell have you been?

If the RNC had the money, they should just run this. Done. Over.

  • Sarracuda In So Cal

I don’t even know why McCain had to go on Letterman, Letterman and the whole freakin state of NY is in the tank for Obama, they aren’t gonna change their mind. Letterman is a PRICK, says he is an Independent, yeah sure, basically sticking up for Ayers, Letterman hasn’t been funny in like EVER.

  • Larse12

On drudgereport.com they have a picture showing how Katie Couric had her hair like Sarah Palins tonight!!! I loved it. I bet that made Couric mad.
McCain was so good. I loved him.

Then I watched McCain on Letterman. Letterman was mean. You sure can tell he is in the tank for Obama. I felt sorry for John.

    LOL….

They are the same ones who want to get back to nature and get stuck on the mountain during a freak summer snow storm in a windbreaker.

Anyway, I think the first night I heard it he had on the Olympic shooter who had her competition rifle stolen out of her truck. It was nice to hear a show that wasn’t rushed to get the guest off of the show. They could get a little more in depth.

  • Sarracuda In So Cal

Katie Couric needs another colonoscopy. She is a disgrace to CBS

  • KathyNeocon

Karma and Seattle—You two are cracking me up. Glad to see there are at least two sane people in Seattle.

Never mind me in LA. I have my McCain/Palin sign in my window–only one in a 10-mile radius I’m sure.

  • KathyNeocon

but no more facelifts for her please.

Yeah, and then before John McCain came out on Letterman they had to show that geek Keith Olbermann that was in the back in case John didn’t show up.
Dave Letterman sunk to a new low tonight. I am done watching his show for good. He is another slime.

  • Sara in PA

Time to say ‘Sorry Barry, you can’t steal this election – like you did with all the others you were in.’

  • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

his ACORN thugs called Primary voters for Hilalry and told them the causes were moved, esp the tx two step

    frakkers

he is laughing cuz none of the complaints thousands were ever addressed by TX Dems and DNC

glad to see our Hill laughing, anf MAC let loose and be himself and zing the frakker and everyone was FREED to laugh out loud at the truth cause it is comedy, just like SNL DEM primary Russert debate sketch on SNL and the CNN debate sketch also

only within the comedy frame is it acceptable to laugh freely at the One…

I like how Scarborough would stick up for Hillary too…even calling her his ‘girlfriend’ he admired her so much.

    It drove Mika nuts.

  • Mr. Natural

They just concluded. Man, I used to like Letterman but he’s a real jerk.

Letterman got his start as a Weatherman too.

( just teasing. he was a TV weatherman.)

  • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

YES this TOTALLY gets into Barrys head, he CANT STAND to be laughed at, he doesnt see the difference since he is so narcissistic, to him any laughter involving him is unacceptable,

  • Nicole

He was looking around for one of his 300 advisors.

  • Mr. Natural

And why wouldn’t he be angry? He’s filthy rich!

  • Tristan

    Wow! That clip was great!

Letterman could have been worse and McCain could have been better. I think it went okay. The G. Gordon Liddy comparison was stupid of course – Ayers has attempted murder multiple times and still holds his extreme views. I liked McCain’s response to the Palin question, comparing her with Clinton.

I also think its pretty pathetic of Letterman to question Palin’s credentials and then ask to have her on the show, but Palin should go on anyway, as its one of the few “interviews” that won’t be edited by MSM character assassins into nonsense. I think McCain would get a small bump if she went on 2-3 days before the election, so maybe that’s the plan.

  • Karma

    Hi Ann,

    Nice to see ya.

I don’t understand how they justify this over asking a question.

    It is bizarre to watch.

  • Paul3triple

fuck letterman, only liberal ass clowns watch it on a normal basis.

I am extremely happy with the Roast McCain did on Obama. Extremely happy that Obama tanked and looked so awkward. His jokes were lame.
He was a bit mean spirited. Which maybe he does not mean to be, but he is so detached. And after he got lit up while also being congratulated he was probably feeling the pressure because McCain won the election if enough poeple watched that.

What was great was McCain made a red-meat comedy speech. It was classic and my high point of this entire campaign.

  • PleaseNoObama

Wow. I forgot how funny McCain could be. With all his speech writers, I expected Obama to be much funnier than he was. He had only a few decent lines. Most of the jokes went flat, and his dig on Hillary could only have come across as mean spirited. What was he thinking?

  • Mr. Natural

Obama’s joke on Rudy w… Suggesting republicans are mostly homophobes.

Or Obama’s crude joke was a beard, a cover

As in, I’ll make fun of gays to prove I wasn’t in that limo with Larry Sinclair.

  • barry bums a ciggie

This is where Barry got nervous and drank his glass of water…he was nervous and trying to be calm about it. I know the move, damn, someone is dis-ing me…sip a drink.

“Maverick, I can do…Messiah, that’s above my pay grade.” LOL, McCain is too damn funny.

  • heather

I agree there. You could really tell how much he dislikes Hillary.

  • McHope

I have heard that many people who know him have been really asking that the campaign let John McCain be John McCain, including the Senator’s brother.

I like all sides so far. This is a decent, kind, patriotic scrapper with a servant’s heart and who knew?.. a great sense of humor and timing to boot.

McCainiacs against Sen Government ’08 :)

  • Mikey

    EightBelles,

Did you notice that when John McCain talked. it was in reference to someone else, most of the time. When Obama talked, it was mostly about himself, very similar to Bill Clinton’s method to speaking.

  • Mandelay

I thought Letterman acted like a horse’s ass tonight. He’s really fallen off the rails this year.

  • Mr. Natural

Letterman hasn’t been funny in like EVER.

    Yeah. Like Ayers, he bombed.

  • heather

    Obama IS meanspirited.

  • JJ

    To Indiedogg,

I’m normally a lurker but you forced me in tonight. You summarized exactly how I am feeling after watching the event this evening.

It was almost like that Barack was in the corner having fun watching the President speak. A kid… being Barack…really a kid that dropped his presidental look and realizing that McCain is Really the President of the United States.

I can’t seem to get the image out of my mind.

The RNC should really spend there last coins on presenting some of this footage.

I just tried to watch this on youtube, and it was messed up….could someone repost this video on youtube as seen here?
The obama speech was clear as a bell. Is someone messing with what we are seeing? seems like there is a lot of hoodwinking and bamboozling going on.

  • Andrew191

All of the Obama quips about the current financial meltdown were in extremely poor taste. The stock market and economic problems have translated into imeasurable hardship for millions of people of limited means, yet an elitist jerk in white tie can make light of it by pointing out how it’s going to impact millionaires like Bloomberg et. all. YUK!

  • Paul3triple

Senator Government’s joke on Bill Clinton running for a third term was another lame joke.

I am happy Senator Government blew it. Mr.Cool looked ice cold.
    McCain was on fire.
I swear i laughed so hard. He hit almost all of the points. Ones that could be made humorous.
    ACORN.

Also, watch the clip when McCain is humble towards Senator Government and acknowledges his skill(lying, i guess?) and said ” i can’t wish him luck. But i wish him well.”

Look at Senator Government’s reaction. He was defeated right there. He knew he was just outclassed and he knew his routine would not stand up. I think that is why he was laughing so hard when McCain was setting “unreasonable expectations.”

I have watched it at least 4 times now. McCains. I could only stomach Senator Government once.

  • Ai1een

Oh yes – definitely Narcissistic Personality Disorder – and his performance tonight was a DUD.

  • Andrew191

You’re spot on Melisa, if Puget Sound Island Girl is from the island I live on, I can tell you that Vashon Is. is the most radical enclave of concentrated Obamamania in the entire country. Yesterday my 11 yo son called me from his school because all the kids in his class were chanting Obama,Obama,Obama, I could hear them, and he was intimidated. I asked my son if the teacher was present and allowing it and he said yes. I would normally go to the school and express my concern about such inapropriate behavior, but on this small island it would only mark us as targets for ridicule, and since everyone in the schools, from grade school to high school, are rabid Obamunists, it would have little effect. We’ll have to move if BHO wins.

  • http://firefox McAnnie Carmel Baracuda

JFK had that kind of humor. Remember when the kid asked him how he became a hero (or something close) and JFK replied he had no choice because “they sank my boat.”

He had a wonderful very dry humor delivered dead on seriously until the room broke up laughing and he joined in. Johnny Mac too.

Obama plans huge election night party:

It’s not a done deal yet, but all indications are that campaign officials are leaning toward Hutchinson Field on the south end of Grant Park as the site of their election night party.

The audacity of this man is surreal. He cannot even fathom that he can/will lose. He’s just planning another huge outdoor event so his sheeple can worship him. I don’t think he was joking tonight when he referred to those greek columns.
    Absolutely disgusting and repulsive….
And they said W. was The Emporer Who Had No Clothes!

  • bayareavoter

JJ–my thoughts EXACTLY. Obama looked out of his element trying to dress up and sit with the big guys. McCain looked Presidential. And so funny. McCain had a great writer and his delivery was spot on. Obama without his friend, the teleprompter, or any sense of humor, was flat.

We made up a word for someone we used to know who was very smart but humorless, precocious and pompous and I always think of it when I see Barky:

    POMCOCIOUS!

ot–Would someone here get this idea to the right people–earlier today you posted Cavuto’s interview with Lyn Rothchild, Democrats for McCain. McCain should make an ad with the interview where she explained how Obama’s tax plan is WELFARE ON A HUGE SCALE–taking taxpayer’s money and giving it to people who don’t pay taxes. I really believe Mac missed a BIG chance by not saying that at the debate and that if people heard that, Bambi would be toast.

  • etc.

    I just emailed.

  • Indy

Oh Kat, it was just delicious! I laughed and laughed (and heaven knows I needed it)! McCain is fabulous. I knew he was sharp after attending a town hall, but he really reached out tonight. To all of us regular “Joe”s (male and female). And to see Hillary laughing as hard as I was…priceless!

  • http://firefox McAnnie Carmel Baracuda

I don’t think so Touchet. I think it was an opportunity to slam the MSM and slyly acknowledge the Clintons…even though their doing duty for the Dems. I loved, loved, loved the spot about being invited to speak at Bill’s Global Initiative…an attempt to turn the anti-Clinton conservatives against him….haahahahaha. He didn’t miss anyone.

Thanks for the heads up on Letterman. I’ll skip him. Usually do but thought I’d tune in after seeing the opening blip earlier on Greta. Now I won’t bother if he can’t move on with his silly ego then to hell with him. And what’s the deal with him not marrying the mother of his son? She, no doubt, wants a fair pre-nup. Ha, good luck.

  • Andrew191

Self deprecation and laughing at yourself require the knowledge that you’re not perfect and have made mistakes. Narcissists like Obama are completely blind to their shortcomings. I could tell he was very uncomfortable, even in a friendly setting, trying to be even slightly self deprecating. If we’re lucky he’ll end up being bunkmates with Olberman in the padded room.

  • mcpalin hill

James that was the funniest part of the speech. Everyone knows that Bill Clinton will do anything to avoid campaigning for Obama. I’m glad that McCain tapped into this.

  • bayareavoter

Not only that, but he fails to realize how dependent New York City (and the State as a whole) is on the continued success of Wall Street: most of the local economy is driven by it, and when Bear, Lehman, Merrill, AIG, etc. go under, it’s terrible, not just for the bankers and traders, but the many people (many of them small businessmen and women) who serve them.

    Grrr.

  • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

Bill Clinton is 1000 times the man obama will ever be. If Hillary was the candidate, as she should have been, we’d be on opposing sides right now.
Remember, some of us are democrats who share in your dislike of Obama. We come from all parts of each party, unified by the fact that Obama is dangerous to our country and our survival.

  • Brendy

I LOVED THIS. I watched the whole thing on Hannity and Colmes while it was LIVE. McCain was just flat out hilarious, spry and on-the-ball! Obama was giving some pretty funny jokes, too, but THEN – his ending speech ended up as a ‘stump speech’ or a ‘sermon’ – telling us how lucky we as Americans are and how we should help those less fortunate than ourselves (‘spread the wealth’ maybe???); he kept going on and on and on and I thought “OK! We get the picture, now stop trying to ‘sell yourself’ – this is SUPPOSED TO BE A FUN TIME”. He kept at this for SO long that I actually think he brought the whole crowd’s mood down. If he had dwelled SO long on that, the event would have been PERFECT.

Hillary looked like she was REALLY enjoying herself – as did everyone. At the end, Obummer had to be a bummer! LOL!

  • csuzeq

    Hello McPalin Hill

Joe Plumber is a game changer.
What the media and the Obamabots have done by attacking him is they have attacked all of us.
This is the straw that breaks Obama.

Attacking a regular citizen that dared to expose the fraud which is Obama is the biggest mistake of the campaign.

  • csuzeq

    he doesn’t think.

  • Ani

Yes — laughing at Obama is a great tactic — a great way to get under a narcissists skin and force a reaction. He has no sense of humor about the messiah — you could feel him squirm when McCain made that comment.

  • Zeke

    Nah,
What’s going to happen in the morning is John McCain will have made points with everyone. He got in every accusation about Obama that would stick, elaborated on Obama’s socialist schtick with Joe the Plumber, pointed out how he screwed Hillary, made fun of Bill’s lackadaisical campaigning and forced Obama to sit there and fake that the shots weren’t hitting him very hard. The audience ate it up and were in John’s corner.
This was a solid, solid night and was a great follow-up to the debate.
    Me gusta mucho!

Letterman was a JACKASS to McCain. I know Letterman can be snarky to his guests, but tonight he was rude, disrespectful, arrogant, sarcastic and just plain nasty to Senator McCain.

If Letterman is in the tank for Obama he should just come out and admit it. I lost any respect I had for Letterman tonight.

  • mcpalin hill

No Bo — yes Letterman acted like a real jerk. I would like to ask Letterman if he feels he did the responsible thing having a child at the age of 57.

He is so worried about how a woman like Sarah Palin would handle a crisis like 9/11. I guarantee she wouldn’t disappear for 12 hours until the coast was clear like Bush did. However, on the other side we have a candidate who has never lead anything and he wants to be President. Does Letterman stay awake nights wondering who Obama would handle a crisis?

  • Brendy

Lark — You’re right Letterman struggles with the fear of another terror attack and yet he said to McCain that Obama should not be judged by the company he keeps. Our soldiers are still in harm’s way fighting terrorists on two fronts and it doesn’t occur to Letterman that it might be harmful to the safety of this nation to have a president to is friendly with terrorists. Damn these liberals.

Look at the mess that’s illegal immigration – everyone’s paying their houskeeper and nanny cash. I am watching the Obama video now, and he got kind of boo’d. He is not very funny. And he talks about himself a lot. And he, sans teleprompter, sucks. uh uh uh

He had a few good jokes, but mostly, not so funny. His delivery is not very good.

I watched that performance, and all I can say is that is was MASTERFUL and it was in the best possible Navy tradition…particularly the skewering at the end, with the assertions of “unbridled hilarity.” That old bastard behind McCain, gumming his dinner roll, couldn’t distract me from a superb performance! McCain was totally on his game and in his element–he really hit a home run.

And then, McCain rounded out his successful day with his appearance on LETTERMAN, which was of course taped before the Al Smith event. He was charming and real on the show, yet he was also able (because Dave, quite surprisingly, is a very effective and tenacious interviewer–he doesn’t get credit for it, but he’s one of the very best out there–day OR night) to rebut many “charges” and “themes” from the left, and he did so with an assertive, yet not unfriendly, series of statements. He came off as very open, honest, and not without both humor and self-depracation–in other words, the opposite of didactic, testy and pompous.

I’m not a fan of Republicans as a group; McCain is an exception to the rule, and he hit two out of the park yesterday. Obama couldn’t hold a candle to McCain at the Al Smith event, and that’s a Democratic room, usually.

The story about Mrs. Obama’s call to the API may indeed have legs. They did make a recording of Mrs. Obama’s call — and they claim that they haven’t released the tape because they (1) What to give Mrs. Obama more time to explain or reply to their article, and (2) make sure that this news agency can’t be sued by Obama.

It would seem that this story has legs — Mrs. Obama temper and seething, boiling hatred is bound to come out.

Which of Mrs. Obama’s rants will hit the airwaves first — the API tape or the Whitey tape.

Yes…I laughed my butte off last night. And, turned the channel as soon as “the one” came on. Obama was laughing and if you look at him very closely he reminded you of Jack Nicolaus as the Joker when he first appeared after the dreadful accident. His smile painted on him. I could imagine Obama’s wife as Mccain spoke, smoke coming out of both ears,as if a bull was ready to attack something covered in red from afar. What amazed me was that everything Mccain said in joking was “true”. And, it too a man of principal to address it in the open!

  • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

Now THIS is the McCain I used to like so much – a good speaker, cutting humor, and very personable. He has a certain elegance when he really allows himself to BE himself.

It seems that THIS McCain disappeared back when the Bushies attacked him and his daughter – and it’s good to see him back.

  • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

I’ve not seen Obama’s version yet, but I’m wondering if he wasn’t uncomfortable because he knew he couldn’t top that.

Obama is NOT one for self-depreciating humor or biting sarcasm. For one thing, it takes too much work and actual personality, both things he is missing.

  • Mamatx

McCain’s jokes and deliverance both outshone Obama’s. It was interesting that several times Obama delivered a line, it fell somewhat flat with the audience, then he laughed at it himself, so the audience politely laughed. Guess the 300 advisers have not been working with THE ONE on comedy and the slate is sill blank.

Did you notice how the audience roared for McCain, but gave Bobo little more than polite applause? Mac’s humor was biting, and Bobo’s was limp. The latter seemed totally out of his element and, as usual, overdid the solicitous conduct. (Did he clap the cardinal on the back?!) He overdid the laughter and was obviously uncomfortable at the podium. His own humor involved trying to ameliorate his own baggage instead of skewering McCain. Of course Mac, with his usual almost-to-the-limit rough satire, is a formidable force to even equal. Bobo and his minions were the butt of the jokes, and he didn’t touch Mac. Now, I’m waiting for people like Bob Herbert to label John’s paon to Obama being the first black nominee as a reminder of Bobo’s ethnicity and an appeal to racism.

  • SJ

I dont’ know why some keep saying Obama was funny, tome he tried to be but fell flat, and I kept getting the tone that he was more concerned on the self factor, pushing his self rather than just having a fun night as McCain did.

Obama did slam the host of the event saying it looked like an AGI affair I found that was kind of tacky, you cant be invited then turn around and say the host is wasting money its too lavish, there was so many other things to make fun of he could of been at least gracious and leave that out, but Obama is by no means gracious.

Maybe I will watch his performance again but so far I cant see all this humor people keeps saying there was from Obama even the audience response was weak, I just wish people would be fair at times and call it as it is

Can someone please tell me why the media hasn’t jumped all over Senator Obama for the unbelievable comments he made on “Meet the Press?” On Sunday, Sept 7, 2008, Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag and why he refuses to stand at attention facing the flag with his hand over his heart when the National Anthem is played.

Obama’s explanation was that to a lot of people in the world the American flag is a symbol of oppression and the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. He suggests it should be swapped for something less parochial and bellicose. He would prefer the song, “I’d like to Teach the World To Sing.” He stated if that were the anthem he would salute it.

He further stated we should reinvent our National Anthem and redesign our flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. He said it is his intention, if elected, to DISARM America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren and suggests that if we would conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam perhaps a state or period of mutual concord could be achieved between our governments. He believes we as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair injustice?

Am I missing something here? Does anyone else feel the outrage and concern I am feeling over this? Obama said his wife disrespects the flag for many personal reasons and together they have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past. He stated that CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America.

This could possibly be our next president. Why in the world has this not been front page and headline news?

I think this event needed a third speaker. Some Joe Plumber-type to roast all of the hypocrisy in the room. Whatever is the reason Bill Clinton was not there, he gets 5-stars from me for his performance.

Also, Obama, how did you manage to snuggle up to the Cardinal there? I guess that shows your respect for the Catholic vote which you seem to think will be a Pavlovian response to the cassock.

I saw it and it was absolutely hilarious. The guy’s s a hoot! McCain, Hillary, Al Gore and Rudy Giuliani have been extremely funny on SNL but Obama is a dud. He has great difficulty with any humor that doesn’t cut down the other guy. No self-deprecation for “THE ONE”.

Hear that Palin will be on SNL soon.

So, JML, you’re saying it’s all about personal dislike? Yeah, pretty obvious.

But hate is such an empty emotion. Also, it clouds reason. Don’t be so proud of the fact that you’re motivated by animus.

  • DAB

Technically you could say that Obama’s speech was kinda funny but it lacked something. I roared at McCain’s presentation but with Obama, I found myself saying “yes that’s a good line” rather than laughing out loud. Somehow the lines about the Greek columns, stadium and manger fell particularly flat.

Seemed like the crowd’s response to McCain was also more spontaneously uproarious while when laughing at Obama, they were more restrained.

But then it could just be me own prejudice…..

tremendously funny potential. and a lot of good funny fun without being cruel or mean spirited. true humor.John Mac showed it can be done ,with his hilarious send up of Barack at the Alfred Smith dinner in NYC. knocked me out!

two faux Palins as hockey moms talking real working class/middle class issues and politics. bring on the real Barracuda Sarah SNL, it’s a whole wonderful side of the woman. take a chance on making the obamabots pissed. keep our respect while engaging in fair and balanced satire.

PRINCETON, NJ — When given a choice about how government should address the numerous economic difficulties facing today’s consumer, Americans overwhelmingly — by 84% to 13% — prefer that the government focus on improving overall economic conditions and the jobs situation in the United States as opposed to taking steps to distribute wealth more evenly among Americans.

Rumor has it that at a rally today, Obama joked about Joe The Plumber and said something like”

    “Gee, How’s busineess, Joe??”,
echoing the sentiments of the Obama supporters who said they want to put him out of business, and meeting with great cheers by the crowd.

Can anyone confirm, or does anyone have the FOX video?? A classic example of ObamaThuggery.

This seems to be OBAMA’s theory: If you have the AUDACITY to ask me a question, and my answer gets scrutiny for what it reveals about my socialist plans for America, I will DESTROY you (and your business) for asking your questions.

Seattle Moss, Rudy appeared on SNL at least once in drag. This was when he was mayor of NYC, and obviously pre-9/11. I’ve forgotten the premise of the skit(s), but he was a hoot.

Mac also appeared on SNL early in the 2000 campaign, and absolutely killed. He was better than most of the cast members–and SNL had a really, really good cast back then.

So whoever wrote Obama’s lines wasn’t dissing Rudy, he or she was harking back to one of Rudy’s finer moments, when even a lifelong Liberal like me found him likeable.

  • Portia

And he’s great off the cuff also—remember when Phil Gramm made that graceless comment about the economy. McCain didn’t “fire” him, but he did say, “He’s going to be the ambassador to Belaruse!”

Talking about how mean spirited Mr. Obama is have any of you watched the sour looks caught on his wife’s face when the camera pans her way? I hate to think of her as “First Lady”, because she doesn’t have the grace or character to be First anything let alone a Lady.

Cindy McCain and Sara Palin both have far more grace than Mrs. Obama. Everyone knows when you get into a small group, elite or not, you have to put on your “game” face and be gracious even if it kills you.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Obama lack any level of graciousness or true social nobility. Anytime somebody dares say anything negative about her husband she looks like she wants to start a cat fight and roll on the floor defending him! Makes me want to puke. They and their dumb as stump media hacks are such hypocrites by shielding them from appropriate judgment by the associations and groups memberships they are a part of yet crucify anyone even remotely in the McCain camp, up to and including Palin’s husband and children.

He has the audacity to declare family “off limits” yet allows his people to viciously attack their families and even their children! I cannot believe so many people believe a word out of his mouth.

Can you see the similarities of Jimmy Carter and Brack Obama?Down with JIMMY CARTER.
U.S. and the worlds mess started with JIMMY Carter.

A vote for Obama will be like voting for Jimmy Carter all over again !

Seattle Moss, there are at least four of us, counting you, me, my husband and my daughter, who is only old enough to vote if you ask an Acorn operative.

When their advisors let them be themslves they do a lot better. That’s what happened to Hillary at the beginning. When she starting being herself she picked up ground and the same with Palin. If you stifle someone everyone else can feel it and it is not comfortable for anyone.

McCain and Palin should let go and stop listening to all those advisors. They’d be great. Everyone needs to see their personalities.

msg for John and Sarah……GO GET EM’ AND GIVE EM’ HELL!

Anyone got video of Obama’s speech today in Va. where he said

“Gee Joe, how’s business?” And everyone is laughing at Joe.

Sounds like a threatening payback for asking a question that elicted a response from Obama that has Obama diving in the polls.

Anyone know if Joe still has a job, or have the Obama thugs taken care of that?

Same here, Lizzie.Hillary was so elegant in her outfit. Above all, she has a magnificent dignity & class, to appear so calm and resign to the fact, that Obama stole the nomination from her.The mighty dollar is the deciding factor, which Obama has a continuous flow of it, from sources unknown but to the devil.Obama, you are a cheater & a PHONY. It showed in your face, heavy with guilt !
A simple funny line, you fail to deliver.

    Vote McCain/Palin ’08

    God Bless America !!!

Letterman is two things: (1) a real turkey, and (2) a blindly compliant Democrat who never questions the party’s actions or justifications. If Jesus returned and weren’t a Democrat (which he undoubtedly would not be), Letterman would be against him.

John McCain and Hillary have a mutual respect ‘pact’. When they were both in Bahgdad in ’05, McCain was asked by Tim Russert in Meet the Press interview about Hillary’s presidential abilities.

“I have no doubt that Sen. Hillry Clinton will be a great President”–John MCain.

HIllary said same thing when asked about Sen. McCain…two great leaders….what a team they’d make, eh?..lost opportunities for the World!

and let’s hope the Obama supporter-neanderthal misogynists pay for their sexist vilification and diminishment of Gov. Palin….they should be prosecuted for sporting these T-shirts that invite clearly violence against Sarah Palin!

But we don’t have laws to prevent Woman-hatred. Only to prevent Racist comments….

Obama’s narcissistic personality is probably owing to his years in the closet in New York at Columbia. We can’t find any former Girlfriend, jilted lover of the female persuasion, or even a boyfriend (more likely)!
Barry has so much to hide….but his Rudy Giuliani transgender comment about the LIPSTICK ON RUDY AND OBAMA’S LIPS WAS TELLING….he can run away from the Truth, but he can’t hide it….

did you see him ‘flip-offing’ Hillary again!??!!!! He raised his midfinger again and…scratched his anorexic resume of a face….what a disgusting pig…

His “billy mays voice” – God, I can’t stop laughing at how great your comments are on this blog. Nice to be in good company.

McCain speaking at the dinner was more than hilarious, it was brilliant. McCain managed to get points across that were stabbing and painful for Obama, particularly when he said “I can do ‘Maverick,’ but I can’t do ‘Messiah.’” Obama had this fake grin plastered on his face, forcing a laugh, but his discomfort was there. I loved every minute of it, and that MSNBC will have a looong night if McCain pulls it off. And while I am no fan of either Clinton, I actually felt badly for Hillary, who was laughing through her tears.
