There Will Be Riots In The Streets!

That’s the big “hint” to what James Carville says will happen if Obama doesn’t “win” the election. Nothing like a little threat of violence to try to skew , are I say, dictate, things to go a certain way.

This was a topic of conversation last night on the excellent “Patsy and Sugar” show on No Quarter Radio (Thursday nights at 9:00 pm). We have heard this before – that’s what was going to happen at the DNC Convention, too, had they not broken all of their roll-call rules.

Please, will you remind me again how this is Democratic?? Because, frankly, I resent being threatened with violence if I do not vote for a particular candidate, ANY candidate. And what does it say about Obama and his minions that this is an ACCEPTABLE tactic?? Like so many other of Obama’s tactics, this is despicable.

One of the other tactics being employed to garner Obama the win is voter fraud. Nope, not voter REGISTRATION fraud (or should I just say, ACORN??), but actual fraud.

It seems some college kids involved in “Vote From Home” have committed fraud by voting in OH, even though they are not residents of Ohio. The laws are quite clear on this: people who do not actually live in Ohio, who are there for a short time, or are on vacation, are NOT allowed to vote. But there is a group of young people who rented a house with the sole purpose of engaging in voter fraud. Yep. Here’s the report:

Oh, dear. This is but the tip of the iceberg, though.

Wait until you see THIS video:

I am practically speechless. To steal someone’s vote is criminal. And morally bankrupt. But to do it right in front of them? “Shameless” doesn’t begin to cover it.

I guess this goes right along with voting for someone who is no longer with us. As in, they have passed away. Dead. Yes, imagine the surprise when Linda Hill’s family found out she was still voting – two years after her death.

Then there is ACORN, the voter registration arm of the Obama Campaign. The number of investigations into ACORN, for example, are widening, now in 14 states. You may notice that I have never mentioned them being here in SC. There is a reason for that. Two years ago, ACORN was faced with attention from State Law Enforcement Division (SLED):

opened an investigation into its registration efforts in the Columbia area two years ago.

That investigation is ongoing, a SLED official said, declining further comment.

Yeppers. So, it isn’t that ACORN has not tried its creative (!!!) registration here in the state of SC this year, it is that it DID try, and flags went up immediately. Two years ago. Wowie zowie.

Kinda makes me wonder what took these other states so long to catch on, you know?

Hopefully, those other states have caught on in time, though that might not help in Ohio. It seems the Supreme Court decided it was A-Okay for Ohio to NOT have to verify almost 200,000 new registrations.

Almost a THIRD of the new registrations for that state are considered fraudulent, but they don’t have to verify them, courtesy of the Supreme Court. What, are they trying to make up for the 2000 Florida fiasco by allowing another in 2008? So much for justice, right, and the American Way, I guess.

Here’s the thing. To “win” an election by stealing votes, by voting fraudulently, through the use of falsified voter registration, and/or the threat of violence should a particular candidate not win, is not democratic, not Democratic, not the American Way, and anathema to any moral or ethical person, Republican,Democrat, Independent, or Undecided.

If Obama “wins” by voter fraud, Carville might be partially right – there might still be people taking to the street, not to riot, but to protest the diminution of our most sacred right: to lawfully cast (ONE) ballot for the candidate of our choice without fear of tampering, fraud, or theft. Now THAT would be worthy of protest.

I would be pissed if my mom, sister and brother were still voting. Using the name of a deceased person is the lowest. I did check the voter registration page, and people wont be able to use their names. No longer listed as registered voters.

  • Khan Krum

Exactly. I now wonder if there’s an Obama dinner event or something like that if they go out to the local cemetery and talk flowers off the graves to put on the tables. Wouldn’t be much difference, would it?

  • Khan Krum

talk should be ‘take’, i.e., take flowers off the grave as in steal (as in stealing votes from the deceased).

This is all part of the “meta-campaign.” The mantra is: It has to be this way. It is decided. He is the one. It is over. It can be no other way. The election is over. Give it up. Accept it, or else!

You know that kind of thing has been done in American history before and it has never failed to produce a backlash. I’m sort of amazed at this kind of thing from Obama because I doubt it has the potential to win any votes but it does have the potential to energize opposition turnout.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW THIS WILL BREAK DOWN GENERATIONALLY…IMHO…
Over 40 = will go to McCain
under 40 = will vote Barky or not at all…

If history seres despite Barky getting out the Dead and Criminal vote…GOP will win…

( Al Capone is voting for Obama so ACORN scored both dead and criminal count in one stroke…)

Well, one gets more than enough verbal abuse from “Friends” and “Family” these days when one even suggests that a vote for Obama might not be the great privilege and honor of one’s life. I have no problem imagining that a large chunk of the people being polled just say they are going to vote for Obama to avoid the confrontation and get off the phone.

I know that when I tell most of my closest associates that not only do I not experience a spontaneous orgasm when I hear Obama speak, but I’m actually going to vote for McCain, the response is roughly the equivalent of being caught molesting a small child. So most of the time, I just stay out of the Of Course We Are For Obama Who Else convos and I suspect a LOT off McCain supporters are doing the same- or again, just going along and saying that they are voting for Obama. But no one is watching or clucking over your shoulder when you are in that voting booth.

Berg’s case has no chance. Obama’s COLB has already been validated by the State Dept. This link is to a site that has analyzed and completely debunked Berg’s case. Don;t be so nasty, people. You are in the minority. Ayers was convicted of nothing and never killed anyone. Get your facts straight. In fact, he was Man of the Year in Chicago in the late ’90′s.

McCain has far more dangerous associates in Gen. John Singlaub, G Gordon Liddy, etc.

Good article RRR Amy. Fear is and always been a great motivator. You all know that FDR said “The only thing to fear is fear itself.” A simple statement that has much meaning. I have been reading about all this rioting that will occur if Obama doesn’t win. So what? There may still be rioting if he does win. Hasn’t anyone considered this? The only difference will be the skin color of those rioting. Obama’s surrogates are using any tactic that they think will get people to vote for him. In their thinking, it doesn’t matter how he wins, just that he wins.

  • John

CNN has Obama ahead in NORTH DAKOTA and it has West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina SOLID for Obama-

CNN has completely mortgaged it’s credibility in the service of Barack Obama. Utterly ridiculous.

  • John

Yeah, last time I checked, “we should do THIS because if we don’t, people will be really upset and might commit acts of violence” wasn’t a very effective argument. I imagine it’s the mindset of millions of parents out there who shower their spoiled rotten kids with I-Phones and Money, but I don’t see why it should influence the way I cast my vote.

On election night, I’d rather see people rioting because Obama lost than people partying because Obama won. I think it’s far more likely that when it becomes clear that Obama has lost, the principle reaction of his youngest “supporters” will be to turn the channel to see what else is on. Rioting can be fun, but it does require getting off your ass, and after all, its cold in most of the country in November.

  • Tattie

The sad thing about riots if they happen, the ones that will be hurt are Obama supporters. Who else will be out there. How about them Dems, they must really hate America to be calling for riots.

Colin Powell just lost all respect I had for him and endorsed the sexist, racist jackass accordingtofox news. I had always hoped Powell would stand for the country instead of paricipating in racist politics :(

  • Sassy

Former Virginia Governor Wilder was one of the first I heard using this threat, and that was very early on.
Thankfully, I don’t live in an urban area!
A few weeks ago, I did speak with my daughter in N.C. about her family NOT voting…turns out her polling place is within blocks of her home, and our son-in-law is 6’7, so they will DEFINITELY be casting two against BO!
ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE who condones the thuggish tactics of this election should be deported! Yes, I’m serious!

  • NCgirl

Colin Powell is now on Meet the Press endorsing Obama. What little credibility the man has left, in my eyes, is completely gone now. I wonder how Mac feels knowing his old friend just stabbed him in the back.

  • Shiloh

If Colin Powell were white it might make a difference. But because he is black everyone will see it for what it is. Besides, a political scientist friend pointed out to me that studies have long shown that endorsements, whether by individuals or newspapers, have no discernible effect.

  • Liz B

Amen! All my kids who are old enough to vote, used to be Democrats, are voting McCain. They are 20,22,and 27. The 22 year old goes to Univ. of Delaware, and amazingly, even though it is Joe Biden territory, and his Alma Mater, she knows quite a few kids there that are voting McCain, she says they don’t talk a lot about it in public, but in groups they have all said “No Way, Nobama”…

and I just want to tip my hat, in advance, to my Home state of Georgia, I know you will deliver for McCain, as will the solid south…now if we can just secure Florida and Virginia, we can bring in a Block of Electorate votes that will bring it in and deliver the victory for JSM.

  • Sassy

Colin Powell was an admirable guy…to a certain extent.
Some of the books about him left no doubt that he was ambitious as a younger man, and he challenged his superiors while in the military.
Too bad his backbone was non-existant after he joined “Team Bush”!

  • Nomoredem

This means nothing. If you see the movie W., it shows you who Colin Powell really is. Someone who can be manipulated.

Powell, like Obama, would be nowhere if not for his race.

  • Lindsy

Powell just endorsed Obama on Meet The Press on the grounds that Gov. Palin is “not ready.”

How can pundits continue to say this with one breath and then in another breath say that a freshman senator is ready?

It’s just hypocritical and completely pathetic.

The Dems better not ever run another Governor for President because Governors after all are not ready.

Don’t fret about Powell. The way I see it and experienced it in the primaries, every time Obama was down and his internals didn’t look good, he would rev up the racist card rhetoric, haul out endorsements and bus in larger crowds to his rallies.

He’s done all these things this past week, which tells me he knows his numbers aren’t looking so great.

I expect by next week, we’ll hear more charges of racism against McCain and Palin, his crowd size will increase to 200,000 and he’ll drag Condi Rice out to endorse him on Fox News Sunday. ;)

  • calli not your sweeti

Thousands of MD and DC college students have registered in VA to vote fraudently in VA and then they will vote by absentee ballot in their home states as well. The democrats have planned on stealing this election and there will be violence if they do not succeed – that’s what they are saying. It’s just like the guy on the street putting a gun to your head and saying give me all your money. What do you do? Think about it. Because that’s what the democrats are doing and they are going to take all our money and pretend to spread it around to a few needy groups. Colin Powell is just adding to the race warfare at this point. Does anyone believe that blacks aren’t racist at this point with 99% of them voting for Senator Government? It’s too bad the dems did not run someone with character and morals. This will set back race relations for years.

  • http://investigatebarackobama.blogspot.com/ kat in your hat

    (Exactly)

I am not bothered in the least as far as the Powell endorsement. I think it’s race based and it’s silly.

This is also nothing new. Everytime Obama was down, he pulled out a fakey changey pocket superdelegate endorsement.

This is O’s thang ya’ll. You remember this. Kind of funny how suddenly “endorsements” are a big deal again? Newspapers, etc. There are only a few weeks left. A little late.

It’s all bogus. A sign Obama is losing. Also, I think the polls are not to be trusted. They are probably making it look like it’s close, just to show Obama with a big lead come voting time even though McCain is ahead. It’s all bull. The polls have been pro-dem and way off for many elections.

A Powell endorsement = scared Obama camp.

  • lark

I would hope street riots would be the only thing that happens. There will be white/black killings, home invasions, children being intimidated in schools, jail riots, bombings, employee firings, school fights, assaults in malls and supermarkets, gas station assaults of customers, and many other things.

  • lisa-ny

How is this going to be played out now?

    Good Riddance Powell …

  • C.S.

If we can send our people to die in Iraq for Iraqi freedom the least we can do is face the fear of insurrection, yes, insurrection, at home when we know in our hearts that freedom is on the line. In 1942, Winston Churchill told England

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

This is our end of the beginning when we are faced with the threat of violence if we vote “the wrong way.” One of our great presidents, Theodore Roosevelt once said

Freedom from effort in the present merely means that there has been effort stored up in the past.

Who knew our storehouse was almost empty and we would be the generation to restock it. We must never give in to the threats of election by mob rule because that is the day the United States will cease to be a democracy.

Timing is everything, and I believe the Obama campaign has been wrong on timing. Their allies timed the mortgage “crisis” and they’ve times this Powell endorsement. How much will either matter in two weeks? The dow had the largest weekly gain last week since 2003. Most people don’t even know who Powell is, just another black for Obama.

I happen to know that McCain believes the election will be won in the last 72 hours. So we have two opposing theories on best timing. Meanwhile, Obama has, in the last 2 weeks, lost two-thirds of his supposed lead in the polls. If this were a football game it would be halftime.

I’ll bet more than 90% of them are voting McCain/Palin. Military and Ex military for McCain, hunters solidly for McCain, competitive shooters again McCain. I certainly hope there wont be any violence when Obama loses, but if there is, it will most likely be limited to Obama supporters destroying the property of other Obama supporters. I disagree. They are both the kind of individual that has an unusual amount of surface charm that is an asset because it allows the public to project onto them admirable qualities. That gives both these individuals the ability to influence others and makes them valuable assets to organizations. Remember Oliver North? Similar type of person.

  • apishapa

I believe if Obama does not “win”,there will be riots. I believe he has fashioned his campaign after that of Odinga in Kenya which Obama choreographed. When Odinga lost his people went on a killing rampage. I’ve never heard Obama condemn this. In fact I’ve read reorts that Obama encouraged the violence.

Now Odinga is Prime Minister because he bullied his way into the position using violence against innocent civilians after he lost his election. Obama believes in this knd of ‘revolution” and he will call for violence when he is defeated in the election. We’ll see how America esonds to a call for violent overthrow of government. We’ve knd of got part of our answer in Carville.

Exactly, John. I Have been told by one sibling that I had “lost my mind” because I don’t support Obama. Another sibling told me this weekend that, “Hillary would be ashamed” of me. Another essentially rescinded an invitation to visit. Sigh. None of them will accept that this decision was made long ago after the massive caucus fraud, and the vote theft by the DNC. Even if I didn’t dislike Obama, the conduct of the DNC to steal this nomination for Hillary to give to him was sufficient.

WCA – great comments as always. And yes, Carville is definitely acting in a racist manner.

NC Girl and others – no doubt, the threat of violence may backfire. I hope it does. This is the same stick they used against us to not challenge their illegal (according to their rules) behavior at the Convention, too. I don’t exactly cotton to people telling me there will violence if I don’t do what they want me to do.

Our Houston Chronicle is reporting that 4,000 dead people voted in the caucuses for Obama. That’s why the caucus result was different than the primary (which Hillary won).

4,000 dead people voted for Obama in the caucus.

I guess it’s the Chicago Way.

If there are riots, then many of the most violent people in our country will end up being killed by police or put in prison while the rest of us stay off the streets and protect our families. It would definitely help to take some of the violence out of main stream America.
Let them riot, when they do, arrest them, if they attack the police, they risk being shot. It will not be pretty, but it will be effective in getting rid of them with

Sad to say, but true. I was just commenting to my partner that the DNC officials have said NOTHING about ACORN that I have seen. Nothing! And here they are illegally registering people in a number of states! WTH already??

And agreed – no telling how many more people in Jack’s position have been taken advantage of by the Obamabots. Reprehensible is the word that comes to mind…

Colin Powell’s endorsement will do for Obama in the general election what John Edwards’s endorsement did for Obama during the primary back in May.

    Absolutely nothing.

Despite the John Edwards endorsement, Democrats still voted for Hillary Clinton in droves during the final months of the primary. His endorsement did nothing to stop Hillary’s momentum at that point. Which is why the DNC resorted to cheating to get Obama the nomination in the first place.

Powell’s endorsement will pacify the stupid MSM. But it won’t sway most undecided nor Independent voters. Many of those voters are still looking at Obama himself and realizing that he lacks the credentials to become POTUS.

  • Newly Independent

Obama outspent Hillary 3:1 during the primary and still lost – which is why he and the DNC resorted to cheating to get the nomination.

If Obama cheats with the help of other officials to get the election, it may be time for McCain supporters to riot.

I lived through the race riots of the 1960′s in California. If people want to riot again, let them. Anyone who riots because their god does not win an election, no longer deserves to live in this country. Frankly, Obama opposers should be marching on the DNC, the Media, on Washington DC and a whole list of groups if Obama were to win.

By the way, regarding this Colin Powell endorsment of Obama: what a surprise — another African-American votes for Obama. With these percentages of race votes it is nice to see that racism is alive and well in this country.

  • susan

Anyone who knows of Obama’s cousin, Raila Odinga of Kenya, does not doubt for a second what rioting may be encouraged by the Obama campaign if he should lose the election. When Odinga lost his election in Kenya, he encouraged ethnic cleansing and slaughter! Obama not only donated almost a million dollars to Odinga’s campaign, he even traveled to Kenya to campaign for him. Wake up, people, before it’s too late!!! Today on the internet I have been reading that Obama and Ayers were in New York together in 1984, the “Columbia years” Obama refuses to discuss, when the infamous Brinks robbery occured that the Weathermen took credit for. Someone with the ficticious name “Odinga” was also mentioned! Could it be that Obama does not just befriend domestic terrorists??? And will we ever really know the depths of this man, Obama??? Wake up, America!!!

“They don’t talk about it in public” – does anyone? I have had 3 “Obama” T-shirts appear on people in my office – two of them on people I work closely with and one on my assistant. Do you think I’m likely to tell them our family is voting McCain?

I have thought that college students are a huge potential for vote fraud because it is so easy for them to vote twice – absentee from home and again where they attend college, especially if it is in a different state.

I see more potential in this than even in ACORN. The colleges would have to verify home addresses of students – which address is the one where they have their driver’s license, etc.

A lot of students don’t really understand or respect voting laws because they have not been regular voters. (How often do you think they bother to vote in local or state elections?)

Only a few words for Colin Powell:

I used to watch CNN religiously. Now they all make me want to puke or strangle someone. On occasion they start to do or do do a story that would be very damaging to Obama that would do in any other candidate. Nope. CNN will not let that happen. They no longer tell truth (if they ever did). They spin it so positively for Obama that I am in utter shock after watching. This is all just so unbelievable. I certainly hope I am really in a horrific nightmare and will soon wake up and be back in reality world.

    Anyone?

    Anyone who loves this country?

It’s warmer in California but we’ve already had the Rodney King riots and we survived those. Any excuse for gang members to loot and destroy the businesses in black neighborhoods. Then we get the cycle of the guilt pressures on businesses to go back in. Sigh.
BTW we also had riots when the Lakers won so what difference does it make? I’d like an Obama defeat riot rather than an Obama victory riot so we’re depending on you East coast and central voters.

  • csuzeq

It can be very lonely to say that you will not vote for the one.

I’ve had to let go of a couple of friends this year after they made very hurtful sexist comments to me because of my supporting McCain. I was told it was because I was a woman and women are stupid and it’s because I have boobs instead of a brain and comments like that. I ended those friendships and do not want them back and will ot take them back even after they come out of their kool aid coma. The hardest thing though, is my boyfriend. He does think I’ve lost my mind. He was ok with it (or pretended to be) until Hillary’s speech at the convention and then I guess he assumed it was what would finally bring me on board and prove to me Obama is a good guy. In his mind, if he was as bad as I believe he is Hillary would never support him (yes, I know. Hillary what is up with that?). Anyway, I did not come on board and since then life has been pure hell. I guess it was always expected, no matter what I had said, that I would “get over it” and come around. Then the last possible hurdle (in my bf’s mind) came and it failed. He is in complete and utter shock that I will not vote for Obama. An Obama loss will probably be the end for us. He is disappointed in me, but he can’t see I am disappointed in him for not seeing that he is being conned.

How is it that Acorn is still allowed to do these voter registration drives? I haven’t heard that they’ve been given a cease and desist order in any of the states that are investigating them.

What really burns me is that we are all supplying the cash for them to engage in voter fraud. Which politician was it that had $ for Acorn put in the bailout bill?

I agree. If the COLB has been authenticated then I suggest Barfy march into court with it and get this over and done with all live on CNN, MSNBC, and FOX, and then explain why it took him so long.

Who cares about a Powell endorsement? I mean really. If this guy were any sort super star, he would have been able to prevent the Iraq war. He’s niave and a follower and not a leadr. That is why Colin Powell is not a candidate for POTUS.

What good are leaders who don’t lead?

He’s not leading with this endorsement either.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

  • csuzeq

I think there will be riots won or lose. Worse of course with a loss. I do not care. bring it on. We cannot choose our president because we are afraid of wackos getting angry. We have to use common sense. Obama supporters are only concerned about the black guy winning. They only care about November 4th. They have not given one brain cell of energy to think about what happens next. We have. We are looking big picture. The 4 years is way more important than afirmative action. It should be. It has to be. Do not let them scare you. We can get through.

Obama, the don’t ask, don’t tell candidate. Don’t ask him hard questions, he won;t tell you the truth anyway.

powell is a liar. in his interview, he said he decided a couple of months ago. but to ‘newsmen’ after the interview, he said he decided when the economic crisis hit.

i think he was in bo’s pocket months ago, and they decided to trot him out today when the race was starting to tighten. they told him, ‘point out how bo handled the crisis.’ of course, they forgot to tell powell that bo did absolutely nothing.

    yeah, great leadership.

  • MochaLatteBreve

I’m concerned about the hints of riots if Obama loses. We’ve read reports and some have felt firsthand the wrath and aggressiveness of Obama’s supporters. This makes me think that some (especially his “thug” voters) might try to riot.

Anyone rioting after the election should be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

But I really believe that the mainstream media has a huge responsibility if Obama loses and riots occur. If they had done their job throughout this campaign and in the primaries: 1)it’s very doubtful Obama would even be the Democratic nominee 2) voters would understand why many of us won’t vote for Obama and they might have had their own doubts as well.

  • QUEENIE

Well Carville..this dem already voted McCain…and this dem will fight my ass off should there be riots that my tax dollars aren’t used to clean up the messes from a riot or that my tax dollars are not used to rebuild..my tax dollars were already used to clean up after the LA Rodney King riots..that won’t happen again…if some groups
want to riot..fine..but let them pay for the damn clean up and rebuilding themselves..or fuck them..it won’t be on my dime..i will fight to kingdom come to stop my money from any bullshit like the riots..Remember it was basically under Papa Bush that the Rodney King riots took place..and papa bush was the one who incited the Rodney King riots..

so now we would have two racial riots under two Bushes..does no one see the real story here????????

And I can not be blackmailed or frightened or coersed into voting for anyone!!

  • xax

Carville isn’t racist, he’s just afraid the pods will off their rocker if he should happen to lose. And they might. The biggest reason I’m not voting for the guy, beside abhorrent policy, is his freaky followers.

  • xax

Then why are the polls tightening?

  • hootnannie

Hopefully, this kind of outrage will drive more and more anti-Obama voters to the polls. I travel about 3 hours every weekend across southern OH, and I’m seeing a lot more McCain/Palin signs cropping up in the last 2 weeks. People who I talk to say things like, “McCain just has to pull this off!”, but they worry about all those others who say they’re for Bobo. I inform them of the manipulated polls, and they’re somewhat relieved, but still anxious. People believe that either way there will be disorder among ghetto residents and young rowdies. Either they will try to exact punishment for his loss or payback in the event of his winning. I think most people would rather have the more short-lived uproar over a loss.

  • xax

    THERE WILL BE NO RIOTS.

    IT’S ALL A PSYCHOLOGICAL PLOY.

DO NOT LET ANYONE INTIMIDATE YOUR VOTE. OR HOW YOU THINK.

  • Steve_in_KC

As regards the infamous “whitey tape” or the new version, the API tape of MO, I guess there is something sinister in some of us, in that we hope for validation of our beliefs that the O’s are closet racists, nurtured in the church of Jeremiah Wright. We know we are right, but people won’t believe us, so something like this would seem to prove we are right. But it’s a cheap and ugly way to get there.

Even if people believe it when they see it, and many won’t believe it in this era of special effects, it will exacerbate the very real and ugly racism that still paralyzes America. There is talk of race riots if BO loses, and maybe even if he wins. I actually fear the possibility of”entitlement riots” more than I fear the “revenge riots.” Even though the source of it is purported to be MO being MO, and therefore all her fault, it will only make the racial tensions worse. We really don’t need that.

The obvious exception to staying on the high road is the very real danger that BO might bring disaster, or even treachery, along with him. We are not just talking about defeating an inexperienced guy who unseated Hillary with dirty campaigning. It very well could be as dire as many fear it might. If that is the case, perhaps it is better to get everything out in the open, even at the cost of riots. I’d rather have a period of unrest than the toppling of our country.

I hope these tapes exist, just to validate my suspicions, but I also hope they are never aired. I hope it won’t be necessary. But if BO won’t come clean about his personal history and background, and the courts won’t adjudicate it, then damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

We can’t allow a mysterious hypnotist to take over our country for fear of a few riots.

  • QUEENIE

Powell lied more than his throwing his cap for Obama..he is part of the New World Order..he lied us into this war..he should be up on charges of treason!

Colin Powell lied us into war..he lied our soldiers into a war..he lied our soldiers and over 100,000 Iraqi’s to their deaths..he is no citizen or General who should be held up to any high esteem..any military man who would send our troops to war based on lies is guilty of treason…and Colin Powell should be in prison for the rest of his life..not endorsing anyone for President and any real democrat that cheers this man endorsing any candidate is not a real democrat anyway!

UK war dossier a sham, say experts
British ‘intelligence’ lifted from academic articles

    Michael White and Brian Whitaker
    Friday February 7, 2003

    Guardian

Downing Street was last night plunged into acute international embarrassment after it emerged that large parts of the British government’s latest dossier on Iraq – allegedly based on “intelligence material” – were taken from published academic articles, some of them several years old.
Amid charges of “scandalous” plagiarism on the night when Tony Blair attempted to rally support for the US-led campaign against Saddam Hussein, Whitehall’s dismay was compounded by the knowledge that the disputed document was singled out for praise by the US secretary of state, Colin Powell, in his speech to the UN security council on Wednesday.

Citing the British dossier, entitled Iraq – its infrastructure of concealment, deception and intimidation in front of a worldwide television audience Mr Powell said: “I would call my colleagues’ attention to the fine paper that the United Kingdom distributed… which describes in exquisite detail Iraqi deception activities.”

But on Channel 4 News last night it was revealed that four of the report’s 19 pages had been copied – with only minor editing and a few insertions – from the internet version of an article by Ibrahim al-Marashi which appeared in the Middle East Review of International Affairs last September.

Though that was not the only textual embarrassment No 10 seemed determined to tough it out last night.

Dismissing the gathering controversy as the latest example of media obsession with spin, officials insisted it in no way undermines the underlying truth of the dossier, whose contents had been re-checked with British intelligence sources. “The important thing is that it is accurate,” said one source.

What Whitehall may not grasp is the horror with which unacknowledged borrowing of material – the crime of plagiarism – is regarded in American academic and media circles, even though successive US governments have a poor record of misleading their own citizens on foreign policy issues at least since the Vietnam war. On a special edition of BBC Newsnight, filmed before a critical audience last night, Mr Blair stressed that he was willing to forgo popularity to warn voters of the dangers of weapons of mass destruction: “I may be wrong, but I do believe it.”

With trust a critical element in the battle to woo a sceptical public the first sentence of the No 10 document merely states, somewhat cryptically, that it “draws upon a number of sources, including intelligence material”.

But Glen Rangwala, a lecturer in politics at Cambridge University, told Channel 4: “I found it quite startling when I realised that I’d read most of it before.”

The content of six more pages relies heavily on articles by Sean Boyne and Ken Gause that appeared in Jane’s Intelligence Review in 1997 and last November. None of these sources is acknowledged.

The document, as posted on Downing Street’s website at the end of January, also accidentally named four Whitehall officials who had worked on it: P Hamill, J Pratt, A Blackshaw and M Khan. It was reposted on February 3 with the first three names deleted.

“Apart from passing this off as the work of its intelligence services,” Dr Rangwala said, “it indicates that the UK really does not have any independent sources of information on Iraq’s internal policies. It just draws upon publicly available data.”

Evidence of an electronic cut-and-paste operation by Whitehall officials can be found in the way the dossier preserves textual quirks from its original sources. One sentence in Dr Marashi’s article includes a misplaced comma in referring to Iraq’s head of military intelligence during the 1991 Gulf war. The same sentence in Downing Street’s report contains the same misplaced comma.

A Downing Street spokesman declined to say why the report’s public sources had not been acknowledged. “We said that it draws on a number of sources, including intelligence. It speaks for itself.”

Dr Marashi, a research associate at the Centre for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey, California, said no one had contacted him before lifting the material.

But on the regular edition of Newsnight he later gave some comfort to No 10. “In my opinion, the UK document overall is accurate even though there are a few minor cosmetic changes. The only inaccuracies in the UK document were that they maybe inflated some of the numbers of these intelligence agencies,” he said.

Explaining the more journalistic changes inserted into his work by Whitehall he added: “Being an academic paper, I tried to soften the language.

“For example, in one of my documents, I said that they support organisations in what Iraq considers hostile regimes, whereas the UK document refers to it as ‘supporting terrorist organisations in hostile regimes’.

“The primary documents I used for this article are a collection of two sets of documents, one taken from Kurdish rebels in the north of Iraq – around 4m documents – as well as 300,000 documents left by Iraqi security services in Kuwait. After that, I have been following events in the Iraqi security services for the last 10 years.”

Iraq’s decision last night to let weapons inspectors interview one of its scientists for the first time without government “minders” signalled that Baghdad may be bending under international pressure.

But diplomats will be trying to determine over the next few days whether it is a token gesture or a real shift away from what they describe as Iraq’s “catch us if you can” approach to inspections. Hours before the announcement, a Foreign Office source in London signalled that this was the kind of change of heart that Iraq would have to make to avoid war.

Downing St admits blunder on Iraq dossier
Plagiarism row casts shadow over No 10′s case against Saddam

Michael White, Ewen MacAskill and Richard Norton-Taylor
    Saturday February 8, 2003

    Guardian

Downing Street yesterday apologised for its failure to acknowledge that much of its latest dossier on Iraq was lifted from academic sources, as the affair threatened to further undermine confidence in the government’s case for disarming Saddam Hussein.
MPs and anti-war groups were quick to protest that other features of Whitehall’s information campaign are suspect at a time when MI6 and other intelligence agencies are privately complaining at the way No 10 has been over-egging intelligence material on Iraq.

It emerged yesterday that the dossier issued last week – later found to include a plagiarised section written by an American PhD student – was compiled by mid-level officials in Alastair Campbell’s Downing Street communications department with only cursory approval from intelligence or even Foreign Office sources.

Though it now appears to have been a journalistic cut and paste job rather than high-grade intelligence analysis, the dossier ended up being cited approvingly on worldwide TV by the US secretary of state, Colin Powell, when he addressed the UN security council on Wednesday.

Downing Street yesterday toughed it out, insisting that what mattered was that the facts contained in the document were “solid” and helped make the case Tony Blair rammed home on BBC Newsnight. But the middle section of the dossier, which describes the feared Iraqi intelligence network, was taken, much of it verbatim, from the research of Dr Ibrahim al-Marashi without his knowledge or permission.

“In retrospect we should have acknowledged [this]. The fact that we used some of his work does not throw into question the accuracy of the document as a whole, as he himself acknowledged on Newsnight last night, where he said that in his opinion the document overall was accurate,” the No 10 spokesman conceded. “We all have lessons to learn,” he added. The four officials originally named on the website version of the 19-page dossier include Alison Blackshaw, Mr Campbell’s senior assistant, and Murtaza Khan, described as a news editor on the busy Downing Street website.

Professor Michael Clark, director of the International Policy Institute at King’s College London, said presenting such intelligence material “invalidates the veracity” of the rest of the document. The shadow foreign secretary, Michael Ancram, called for a cabinet minister to oversee government information on Iraq.

Even before the latest row some Whitehall officials were protesting that MI6 and other intelligence material was being used selectively by Downing Street. A well-placed source made it clear that the dossier had been the work of Downing Street and the Coalition Information Centre, the body set up after September 11 to put the US-British case on the war against terrorism. The source dismissed a key section of the dossier as full of “silly errors”.

Glenda Jackson, the Labour former minister, was one of several MPs to protest that the government was misleading parliament and the public. “And of course to mislead is a parliamentary euphemism for lying,” Ms Jackson told Radio 4′s Today programme.

Dr al-Marashi expressed “surprise” at the lack of a credit for his work, as did other authors whose research was quickly identified. One anti-war group, Voices in the Wilderness, identified a passage from No 10′s September dossier directly traceable to Saddam Secrets, a book by Tim Trevan published in 1999.

The Middle East Review of International Affairs, from which Dr al-Marashi’s work was lifted, is based in Israel, which makes it a suspect source to even moderate Arab opinion, and another reason why the origin of the information should have been listed.

Colin Powell defends US policy on Iraq
    January 9, 2004 – 9:46AM

Secretary of State Colin Powell acknowledged today that he saw no “smoking gun, concrete evidence” of ties between Saddam Hussein and the al-Qaeda terror network, but insisted Iraq had dangerous weapons and needed to be disarmed by force.

At a State Department news conference, Powell openly disagreed with a private think tank report which maintained that Iraq was not an imminent threat to the United States, and defended the case he made before the United Nations for a US-led war to force Saddam from power.

“My presentation … made it clear that we had seen some links and connections to terrorists organisations over time,” Powell said.

“I have not seen smoking gun, concrete evidence about the connection, but I do believe the connections existed.”

Three experts at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace said in a report today that the Bush administration systematically misrepresented a weapons threat from Iraq, and US strategy should be revised to eliminate the policy of unilateral preventive war.

(ahhhhhhhhhhhh but Powell testified to a smoking gun..and sent our kids to die in a hell hole based on his testimony to the world..which was all a pile of bullshit lies…what a lying piece of vile excrement Colin Powell is!)

(Noooooo Powell your presentation was a pile of lies and plagarism..total bullshit and you knew it Powell! You should be in prison Powell..not endorsing anyone!)

The SS or is it the Secret Service?

These two agents, I am sure take their job seriously, but it begs the question.

If there are riots then I will defend myself and my home from the stupidity of the kool-aid drinkers. What else can we do but hope common-sense prevails. Wait a moment… These are BoBo supporters I’m talking about… We’re doomed by the stupitity!

This former Dem is voting McCain/Palin. To be more blunt, I’m voting straight Republican this go around. One of my Senators, Johnny Isakson, responded personally to an email I sent regarding BoBo’s trip to Iraq. He earned my vote.

Sassy..Colin Powell lied us into this damn war..he himself sat in front of the entire world and lied about WMD and used a College guys Dissertation paper that he plagarized and passed off as intelligence..the entire world knows that fact..it is only uninformed Americans that don’t know it..see my post further down..i have posted old British and Aussie news articles that were plastered all over papers, all over the world when he freaking lied and as far as I am concerned he committed treason!

This election sounds more and more like those in Kenya and Zimbabwe thanks to Obama’s supporters and the Democrats.

  • mcpalin hill

working class — Obama is a little crook who wants the biggest job in the world but steals votes the way an old time Alderman in Chicago would. To Obama anything you do to win is worth it. But win what? What is the agenda that makes all this cheating worth it.

  • mcpalin hill

susan — Let em riot if they choose. I don’t care anymore. Thats up to our Government if they want to be intimidated by this fraud, I am not. There are laws against inciting people to riot — I hope Carville knows this is a crime. I voted my choice already and it wasn’t for this divisive candidate.

  • tek

I have been disgusted with James Carville since Kerry’s campaign. If he is saying that the blacks will riot over an Obama loss, then he has descended to new depths of depravity.

  • Galandrien

that just tells me not to trust the judgement of Chicago poltics…thank you for supporting our position.

And if Berg’s case had no merit it would have been dismissed. But maybe Obama’s lawyers statement “a voter has no standing to challenge the qualifications of a candidate for President of the United States” as justification for dismissal bothers some people…you know that whole government of the people, by the people, for the people thing.

And Ayers was never properly tried thanks to prosecutorial failure. There was never deliberation on the accused or the evidence; it had to be thrown out because of a corrupt prosecutor. So justice was never served.

And no we are not the minority. we are americans concerned about the associations and veiled past of a candidate for the highest office in our nation. we have every right to be concerned and until Obama is properly vetted there will be many counted among our numbers.

  • Soldier of Christ

This is what I have to say to you troll: I will be happy to see you or your children or their children crap in the foxholes that will be waiting for you after electing Obama. I will laugh while you or your children cry while bullets fly over your head or their heads while they try to protect Israel or our purple land, called America. Yes, I will smile, for I am a old soldier that has devoted my years to being a patriot and won’t have to “fight” the wars up ahead because of my age. While you urine in the hot sands of the middleeast, I will be sitting watching my tv, eating my dinner and kissing FOX network while they show me your sorry asses out there cursing out your new Messiah. Cursing him and saying “Didn’t you promise us peace, great Lord? Didn’t you say your talks will bring our enemies to the tables?” Yes, I will take delight in seeing you crap every hot sand days in the desert and crying because the talban islamic radicals are hunting you down. While I turn on my playstation and my x-box to play, I will remember to send you the latest games and the newest Hollywood movies while you defend Obama’s new Socialist land.

xax — Carville is inciting violence — pure and simple and there is a law against this. People supporting Obama has lost their frigging minds. Look at John Lewis and Jack Murtha. Is it fear or is it bribes? The media could find out if they cared enough to do so.

    I hear ya csuzeq,
Last night my wife was defending Obama’s Association with Ayers…much as Powell did on MTP this morning and as Pat described in her recent post.

In spite of what information she has read, she still insists it was “no big deal” and a rumor started by Corsi.

All I could say to my wife was, “I just understand you. How can you defend this unrepentant murdering thug and the poor judgment Obama repeatedly has shown?”

She responded, “I have heard BO speak about it and he denies it.”

I told my spouse, “I don’t give a rats ass what these candidates say, it’s WHAT THEY DO, that matters.Obama’s actions tell me all I need to know.

I asked my spouse to name ONE position that BO has taken a principled stand and stuck his neck out for something he believed in strongly.

She responded with “Campaign Finance Reform”. So I ask then Why did he not do what McCain did if he believes in it ?”

What is telling is the auto response that “McCain did it too”.

This is sad because it is very difficult to realize that a person you love is not as concerned about electing an immoral human being to be POTUS and is willing to flat out ignore the facts.

It appears that this is occurring all over this country and families are being assaulted by BO.

I keep asking myself if being on the receiving end of being called a racist and a bigot by my wife is worth it.

    It Sucks.

If there are riots it will change nothing and it will definitely be the last time there is ever a black candidate in the U. S. I also think it will be the end of the Democratic Party because they unethically forced this guy on their ticket. They’ll get the blame.

Quote from the Barack Obama book, Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” And this man wants to be President? I and several tens of millions of people think NOT.

  • mcpalin hill

There is very little difference between what is going on now and what Ayers promoted in the late 60′s and early 70′s. You have young rich radicals who who attend Ivy League schools bragging about changing the system for all the right reasons while they commit voter fraud for the greater good. The Weather Underground and the Students for a Democratic Society would be proud of their grandchildren.

  • mcpalin hill

I have one question if what Obama is offering us is so great then why must there be rioting if we choose not to accept it? This is like a Car Salesman blowing up your house because you won’t accept his great deal.

  • TeakWoodKite

used a College guys Dissertation paper that he plagarized and passed off as intelligence

    Forgot about that tidbit…Thanks

adrian — this is why Jesse Jackson spoke of a new relationship with Israel in which they won’t be supported by the US any longer. He also said and I am paraphrasing that we should ask forgiveness from these muslim nations for all we did to them. This is being said while our young men and women are over there fighting two wars against these terrorists.

  • Galandrien

these have already happened. A 10 year old little girl was assaulted in my neighborhood just last week. Two adult men assaulted her on her way home from school because they wanted to “talk to her mom about who she is voting for”
I have had obamanites at my door asking for me by name–where did they get this information?
Voter intmidation adn threats and assult are already happening. It is time to answer this third world mentality with our votes. Show them they are unwelcome in thier FREE nation.

  • mcpalin hill

Jane Doe — This lifelong Dem voted yesterday against the entire mob. I voted a straight Republican ticket for the first time in my life.

  • TeakWoodKite

People wonder why many Alaskans call the it “lower 48″.

It is even more surprising that Powell does not understand that McCain had to protect his “right flank” and choose Governor Palin.

He has first hand knowledge of how Cheny and the neo-cons ran the Republican party and being stabbed in the back by the likes of Condi and Tenant.
At some point in the three days leading up to the UN ANTHRAX speech, he should have resigned, rather fall on the sword of Hypocrisy.

  • mcpalin hill

xax — What I don’t understand is why I’m supposed to vote for someone who threatens to riot.

  • mcpalin hill

mocha — This is why we have law enforcement. Inciting people to riot is against the law. Any riots should be punished to the full extent of the law and those who called for riots should also be prosecuted. If there are riots it will happen on Bush’s watch and if its one thing we know about Bush — domestic terrorism will be dealt with.

  • TeakWoodKite

As noted, Bush has the power to declare martial law and any excuse to lay waste to Posse is just possibility.

Bush did say that it would be easy as a dictatorship. This is why the Rebplican leadership was not told about the 700 billion until it was in the paper.

Although it won’t be pretty, would you have a Dem Majority Rubber stamping what a “POTUS” wants as opposed to a Republican one?

    What a freak show.

  • QUEENIE

and Tek ..well the Dem party should!!..I will hold them accountable for this BS forever! and I will not stop until I see all responsible driven out of office!

  • mcpalin hill

I voted a straight Republican ticket yesterday. But I have one problem with the Republican Party. They so wanted Hillary destroyed so they wouldn’t have to run against her in the GE because they were afraid she would win. They thought they could run against this amateur and now look at what we have.

  • TeakWoodKite

Well said POVet and having lived through riots when the power goes out in NY, you are right about Latte on Latte violence.

  • mcpalin hill

Sequoia Voting Machines from Venezuela. Chavez endorses Obama — just a coincidence I’m sure.

  • Jane Doe

I think A LOT of people in both parties underestimated the corruption in BoBo’s campaign. I don’t know what to say… It makes me sad for the future of this country. I will say this much, if he manages to steal this election… I’m joining the resistance!

    COUNTRY FIRST!
    McCain/Palin ’08

  • TeakWoodKite

Rev. After reading the history and related links posted by Bud White’s recent post on ACORN, they have managed to become embedded like a tick on the hound of Democracy.

What I am real curious about is how many registration forms other than FOR Obama by Mickey Mouse’s dead people, never made it to the election boards.

I will be curious to see the level of provisional ballots requested by Rebuplicans states where the caging is being done by Democrats. The bottomline of the Sec state of Ohio is to pre-empt any challenge. It is a very undemocratic action.

  • bethtopaz

My 24 year old daughter and my 22 year old son are both voting for McCain/Palin.

My daughter works in very liberal Davis, CA and when she tells people she’s voting for McCain they tell her she’s a racist.

Martin Luther King must be crying right now.

  • bethtopaz

I doubt if they were really the Secret Service.

They apparently flashed their badges when asked.

They were, no doubt, two of Obama’s thugs dressed up to look like the Secret Service.

There are books in bookstores on how to assassinate George W. Bush.

Do you see the Secret Service going to those bookstores threatening the people that run them?

  • bethtopaz

    Great words and thoughts, C.S.

  • bethtopaz

    Shiloh, love your post!

It’s 1/2 time!!! How would you like your cheeseburger?

  • bethtopaz

I hope that what comes from this is an official split of the Democrat Party into (1) The Democrat Party, and (2) The Socialist/Communist Party.

If Obama and his thugs and those in the DNC supporting ran honestly, they would never win. Never.

  • bethtopaz

    GREAT ANALYSIS!!

Hey, be sure and watch the movie, “Defiance” when it comes out December 12th.

It’s the true story of the Bielski Brothers who saved over 2,000 Jews from Nazi extermination in Russian forest during WWII.

and I believe I read somewhere she is an attorney for the law firm representing Barry in the Berg case.

Don’t go the website. They will capture your email information. Be careful

    What you read was false.

That claim was posted over on Free Republic by a dimwit using the moniker “Polarik.”

The claim was false and the thread was pulled by Free Republic.

Polarik then tried posting the EMail she had sent to Free Republic (which was supplied to him by Free Republic admins), which included her address and telephone number.

That post was also pulled by Free Republic.

He has since posted the following retraction:

    RETRACTION:

You may (or may not) have noticed that a recent post of mine concerning the website called, WHATSYOUREVIDENCE.COM, was removed because it contained incorrect assumptions and conclusions I made about the law firm, DickStein Shapiro LLP, in relation to the lawsuit filed by Philip Berg against Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee.

I hereby retract any and all statements and references, whether direct or indirect, that in any way led the reader to believe that a connection exists, or existed, between this law firm and Berg’s lawsuit. To my knowledge, as has been clarified by legitimate sources, there has never been any connection between the two, past, present, or future.

I respectfully request that any copies made of that original post be discarded.

So please don’t continue to spread this nonsense. Polarik’s just a buffoon who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Or it could be over when Obama marches into the courtroom with his certified COLB. Why isn’t he doing that Miles? Wouldn’t that be the best and easiest way? If someone accused me of not having something when I did, I would present it. End of story.

If you actually bothered to read Berg’s lawsuit, you’d know that simply providing a birth certificate would not end the lawsuit.

Berg claims that Obama lost whatever US citizenship he may have had when he was adopted by Soetoro and they all moved to Indonesia.

Meaning that even if Obama were born in Hawaii, it would ultimately be irrelevant to Berg’s lawsuit.

I’m still very po’d that in my neighboring state of PA, officials have identified at least “8000″ suspicious ballads turned in by ACORN. That’s “EIGHT-THOUSAND” in one city! ACORN is like a rampantly spreading infectious disease with NO cure, and that disease is rapidly heading for the White House.

ACORN doesn’t turn in uh… “ballads” (I certainly hope that English is your second language). They turn in voter registration cards. Voter registration cards are not ballots (note proper spelling).

The suspicious registration cards are usually identified by ACORN itself and are bundled separately so that election officials already know they’re suspicious when they receive them.

And in most places, ACORN is prohibited by law from tossing out any suspicious voter registration cards. All of them must be turned in. I don’t know about Philly specifically, but here in Sacramento, we also require that all registration cards be turned in, regardless of how suspicious or even fraudulent they may be.

Laws such as this are intended to try and prevent those registering voters from tossing out legitimate registration cards.

ACORN’s problem is that they tend to hire poor people for doing this work. Too often poor people tend to be rather lazy and look for ways of getting paid without having done the work they’re being paid to do.

Ultimately it’s ACORN that’s being defrauded here by the people they hire on a temp basis to do the footwork. Turning in thousands of bogus voter registration cards doesn’t benefit ACORN or those who hire them for voter registration work.

Could be worse… Obama could manipulate a state supreme court to end a recount that would later vindicate the authenticity of his opponents win.

It’s like shooting fish in a barrel here….

    Boo hoo.

I don’t care how young your kids were. The only people who voted for mcain last night were the far right fringe. The religious wackos and the outright racist.

Fighting against our new president makes you unamerican.
