Voting fraud is nothing new but never as massive as what ACORN has been doing for Obama. He defeated Hillary by voting fraud. He is using the same fraud to steal the election.

this is ill informed fiscal drivel. The "Bush cuts-disproportionalely advantaging the wealthy-have added over 5 trillion to our national debt" is factually untrue. The issue is spending not tax cuts.

Under Bill Clinton's 8 years education spending went up 30%, under Bush 60%. Under Bill Clinton Welfare/Poverty Relief spending went up 28% under Bush it went up 59%. Under Bill Clinton Healthcare(medicare/medicade) spending went up 69% under Bush it went up 90%. If GWB had increased spending at the same rate as BC on just these 3 areas we would be running a 300 billion annual surplus instead of 400 billion deficit. Now you add to it the fact that Bush increased Defense spending 100% and it's even worse. Federal revenue went up 40% in the 3 years following the tax cuts while revenue went up around 25% in the years following top rate increases in the early 90's. Even if you believe the contention that every tax dollar cut from the slashing (39% under Clinton to 35% under Bush for a whopping 11% tax cut)of the top tax rate comes dollar for dollar out of the federal budget that tax cut only represents about $70 billion of a $2.5 trillion in revenue. Extrapolated over the 5 years of the tax cut it would only represent $350 billion of the $5 trillon added to the deficit.
The issue is spending not revenue.

The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) (Pub.L. 107-252) is a federal law, passed overwhelmingly by both Houses of Congress and signed by President Bush on October 29, 2002. It is a federal law (or the case would never have gotten past the District and Appellate courts). However, implementation was left to the states so they can interpret the requirements differently.

That is not the problem here. The act does not say that you can ignore the law and that will amount to a “differing interpretation” of the law. That would be tantamount to my saying I “interpret” the speed limit as not applying to me. The Supreme Court hasn’t said Brunner can just do whatever the hell she pleases, or do nothing at all. Even though the “effect” of their “no-decision” is just that, given the time frame. She can do whatever the hell she wants, unless the RNC or voters in Ohio (I’d argue voters anywhere, since the standard here is to ensure “fair” federal elections, partially in response to 2000 but, either way, at least an Ohio voter) can figure out a way to gain “standing” to file a civil suit against her. So far, they’ve done fine, until they hit the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court (and remember, no other federal court found this to be the case, so all those other federal judges actually reached the merits of the case and it took the wisdom of the supremes to figure out that the plaintiffs weren’t even allowed to file the case in the first place) essentially found that there was a federal law mandating certain action be taken to protect the public’s right to fair and open elections but then found that the voters in such elections, the citizens who’s right was being protected, had no standing to complain if it wasn’t done.

The Attorney General (of the US, not Ohio), i.e., the Justice Department, can step in (which could be done through the U.S. Attorney in Columbus, for example) and might have if the RNC had not been the plaintiff. Whether or not that's going to happen, I have no crystal ball information.

But, otherwise, the message is: Go forth and pillage with our blessing, Secretary of State <strike>Harris</strike> -- uh -- Brunner.

Isn’t the law and it’s flip-flop interpretation depending on which judge you happen to ask, a wonderful thing? Someone does something clearly egregious, something clearly prohibited by a federal law, but there’s really nothing you can do about it, even though you are a clearly affected party.

And, no, it’s not a state issue. No one has suggested that state officials can enforce a federal statute. So, you’re left with a wrong without a right.

And, the grossest fact of all is that the Ohio Secretary of State doesn’t WANT to verify that voters in elections are real. The world is turned upside down when the Secretary of State of a state is in court arguing in favor of voter fraud.

Ah, well. Another day, another WTFCAILI moment. [Translation guide: W=what, T=the, C=Country, A=Am, I=I, L=Living, I=In – the missing letter you can figure out on your own.]

Stand up!!

Keep digging. Keep working. What can I do today to help win this election?!

state polls always run behind the national shifts. It usually takes 4-7 days for the state polls to catch up with national. Plus they are taken less frequently.

Folks, I am not a legal expert, so someone else can jump in here, but from reading comments at other blog sites, this is what has been discussed today:

SCOTUS didn't necessarily agree with Brunner. They just looked at the underlying law.

Apparently, the US Supreme Court reviewed the HAVA (Help America Vote Act) law and found that the Ohio GOP didn’t have “standing” in this case – only the US Attorney General has standing to compel the Ohio Secretary of State Brunner to do her job.

SCOTUS isn’t saying that the law hasn’t been broken or that they agree with Brunner. They are only saying they reviewed the law and found that, as written, only the US Attorney General can bring action against her. The OHIO GOP can't do it.

The question is: will the US Attorney General act? They only have until the 25th of October to ac -- otherwise fraudulent votes may be counted.

This excerpt lifted from a pasted comment at AofSHQ:

TITLE IV--ENFORCEMENT

SEC. 401. ACTIONS BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR
DECLARATORY AND INJUNCTIVE RELIEF.

The Attorney General may bring a civil action against any State or
jurisdiction in an appropriate United States District Court for such
declaratory and injunctive relief (including a temporary restraining
order, a permanent or temporary injunction, or other order) as may be
necessary to carry out the uniform and non-discriminatory election
technology and administration requirements under sections 301, 302, and
303.

Otherwise, private citizens only get to complain to the state. The state handles the complaints as they see fit.

Which goes directly to the ACORN story about padding registrations with fake voters. The pollsters use this supposed groundswell of new Democratic voters as their excuse to skew the polls with 6% more Dems, making Obama look like he's pulling away, which causes some people to back him because it's human nature to want to be on the winning side.

So even if a single fake voter never votes, they're already playing a role in the election via the pollsters.
