Sara Palin, Slap that Cunt Bitch

Yeah, that’s right. Sarah Palin is guilty of hate speech. She’s a moron. She’s ignorant. She’s got the blood of Arizona on her hands. Also she loves the rich and hates the poor. Don’t believe me? Just ask the Rosie’s–O’Donnell and Barr:

What people like Palin need to learn is that we need to be civil in our political discourse. Did I mention Palin’s a moron?

Too bad Palin and other Republicans are not as classy, smart and hip as the Democrats. I am not smug. Nope. Like Bill Mahrer and other lefty elites I am superior to you. We don’t engage in demeaning hate speech like that whore Palin:

Nope. Nothing but serious discussion about merits and issues. It takes people with gravitas like Sharon Osbourne to put this idiot Palin into her place:

Offended? I hope so. The left loves to get its shorts into a knot over the so-called “hate” speech directed at Barack Obama. But do they have similar reservations and horrors in trashing, day after day, Sara Palin? Hell no!! Do they accuse her of sponsoring murder in Arizaona? Hell yes.

I am so disgusted by the frigging double standard. If you are a Democrat your views are by definition sane and proper. If you are a conservative Republican? You are a goddamn danger to freedom and one step from lynching the nearest nigger.

Let me be clear about one thing–Sarah Palin is not a cunt, not a whore, not a bitch and not an idiot. I think she’s a brave lady who got tossed into the shark filled political waters of Washington and scares the hell out of the establishment because she does have bedrock principles. She is authentic and, while I disagree with her on several issues, she does have character. Frankly she has conducted herself with enormous grace despite the persistent attacks from those on the left.

If someone tries to shoot Sarah Palin will the left own up to creating an atmosphere that makes her a “legitimate” target? The Democrats calling for comity in political discourse who have consistently trashed Palin can shove it up their ass. They have selective judgment and only want to outlaw speech they dislike.

For me? Let’s argue the facts. I hope Sarah Palin keeps speaking out and standing up for what she believes in. I still do not think she has what it takes to be President–she needs far more experience in my view–but she has a vision and the courage to present it. But we have reached the pinnacle of the absurd this past week with the left insisting that Palin’s speech motivated a looney killer in Arizona. One more unfounded and unjust smear of a decent lady.

On the plus side, David Brooks has a column worth your time that is a voice of reason and sanity. He includes this comment:

I have no love for Sarah Palin, and I like to think I’m committed to civil discourse. But the political opportunism occasioned by this tragedy has ranged from the completely irrelevant to the shamelessly irresponsible.

The good news is that there were a few skeptics, even during the height of the mania: Howard Kurtz of The Daily Beast, James Fallows of The Atlantic and Jonathan Chait of The New Republic. The other good news is that the mainstream media usually recovers from its hysterias and tries belatedly to get the story right.

I do not think Barack Obama is a good President. He is too inexperienced and too self-centered. But I don’t believe he is evil. I have praised him for things he has done that I believe showed good judgment and have attacked him for poor decisions and a political tin ear. Those are fair targets of criticism. Personal attacks based on his race or his looks are not appropriate. With the exception of Barack Obama, I don’t know of any other politician who has been subjected to as much criticism and ridicule as Sara Palin. With Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton their families are off limits and the press punishes anyone who crosses that line. With Sarah Palin? Open season on the kids.

I will buy into the leftist/progressive pleas for civility when they start to show it with Palin.

  • armymom

    Clap, clap ,clap, clap…… :-D

  • wodiej crackerdawg

Thanks for the appropriate defense of Palin.  People don’t have to agree w Palin’s views or support her for President but they can at least be decent.  She has raised a great family and been a dedicated public servant for many years.  To exhibit such hate for anyone is irrational at best.

  • Madame deFarge

Never one to mince words, Bravo, Larry.  Someone needs to give it back to these hypocrites in spades…gee, I hope that wasn’t a conservative being racist.  To hell with them is right.  We can’t spend time reacting to their reactions because that’s all they do…not engage and respond with clarity and honesty…no they react on the most base level.  I can’t listen to that weazel Maher anymore…or the Rosies.  Barr has always been so over the top vulgar, I watched Tom Arnold’s stand-up routine on cable last week just to see if he’d out Rosanne.  He did but in a subtle way…but quite effective.   I really believe the left shows their instability when they are challenged on any subject whatsoever.

Thanks for laying it on the table.

  • wodiej crackerdawg

    exactly….always play offense.

  • TeakWoodKite

    There’s No Place Like Home

Spot on Mr. Johnson. Thanks for being “blunt as spoon”.

  • Blue Moon

“If you are a Democrat your views are by definition sane and proper”

thanks Larry.  You just said ALL that I having been thinking and stewing about for the last couple of days.  Sane and proper ain’t getting it anymore.  No one is buying into it.  They are toast and they know it.  Sarah will be our next president and they have no one to blame but themselves.  They are pushing the electorate toward her with their vile talk and dirty tricks.  They don’t get it.  WE ARE TIRED OF THIS, TIRED I SAY.  This lastest round of theirs has just about done them in and they know it.  How absolutely sad that they would do this after so many people killed and the main target fighting for her life.  That beautiful 9 year old little girl–I still have tears in my eyes everytime I see her face and hear the words of her mother and father.  How vile of the left loons to do this.  That sheriff needs to be removed NOW.  This crazy-idiot who carried out this vicious killing spree is going to walk if someone/anyone does not rein in this activist who calls himself a sheriff.  And Eric Holder will probably let this crazy dude walk because he is to be pettied for what the right wing nuts did to him.  They made him do it.  I am so mad and upset over this I cannot see straight.  It is just so heart breaking.  I am at a loss for words on this.  How could they?  How could they?

  • Texas Playwright

Sarah has executive experience.  She can lead, govern, direct, command.  bho the fraud is an oppotunist.  Beyond words how disgusting the media, politicos and other lefty people are behaving now by protecting him from the “rhetoric” he and his cabal have spewed for several years now.

Beyond heartbreaking that once again, a sane woman serving her country is somehow blamed for the horrific crimes of deranged males–this time the shooter and all who yammer on about a woman inciting him.  I get so tired of men being afraid of women.  One tries to dominate that which one fears.

  • Kathleen Wynne

    Excellent points, Larry and well-said.

While I also agree Sarah needs more experience before running for the presidency, I still feel she’s more qualified  than many of the men that are considering it, and definitely more trustworthy, than most of the men flirting with running.

I’d rather vote for a woman who has character and is willing to listen to the people and has “bed rock principles” that she won’t sell out, than a really smart experienced man that you can’t trust or doesn’t listen.

  • oowawa

    Roseanne–Now that’s a class act!

  • kinthenorthwest

    TY Larry…
What was done in the 2010 elections to all the presidental candidates besides Obama was horrible.  What is sad is that since they got away with it and won with it, its only gotten worse.

I cannot believe the retoreck that the Democrats have been pushing especially this weekend..

What I cannot believe is how they are intentionally trying to stir up our nation and divide our country, while pointing the finger at the other side.

I feel that our Forefathers would be so shocked to see what has happened to our country, along with the many American heros that the Democrats say they follow.

I found this video today of something John Wayne did and it says so much of what is wrong with our country today…For ist seems so many are no longer happy with just being Americans working for the good of America and its people in whole.

  • texasdemocrat

They know what they are doing with SP.  First the attacks.  Then more attacks.  Then we’ll start hearing she is ‘polarizing’.  And then we’ll hear she is ‘unelectable’.  The idea is that she won’t even get a chance to run because it is deemed ‘hopeless’.

I watched this happen with Hillary.  It’s a plan.

  • beachnan

As always, to the point and right on target.  Oh no, maybe I shouldn’t have said target!!!  Some of the left wingers out there have no idea how ridiculous they sound.  They keep pointing fingers at Palin and others, while not seeing how hypocritical they are being.  I did hear Rendell and some others on the left speaking out and saying that this is a neutral issue and should not be politicized, but it’s hard to hear their moderate voices while all of these other nut jobs are yelling.

  • HARP

I can understand there concern, since they have so many intelligent women in the party.

  • armymom

    ROFLMAO

  • Joan Galt

George W. Bush was subject to some pretty vile criticism.

  • kinthenorthwest

LIke she really cares about America…Remeber how Roseanne and her husband butchered the National Anthem and thought it was funny.

  • armymom

He was subject to a lot of vile hate, not just criticism. I criticized him, but I sure didn’t wish him dead nor Cheney either. When you make a movie about assasinating a sitting President, then try to call it “art”, you have a mental disorder.

    Right here:

there is a picture someplace on the internet where a guy is carrying a sign thats says something about having a gun and he’d kill GW. (Nothing done)
There were dozens of people who hung GW in a noose nad nothing was done.

What is up with these people….

IF they dont stop someone is going to be hurt or killed again.

Yea, these aren’t violent are they? They don’t suggest murder do they (sarc off)

  • politicsisdirty

I believe this is one of the best article you have written so far Larry.

I also don’t believe Obama is evil…. his views are unamerican and his type of governance is best suitedin a socialist or communist country.

  • armymom

Now Harp, the left doesn’t “encourage” violence, surely you jest.

  • HARP

The Dems should be quite familiar with the shooter.

  • SeriouslySickOfObama

I was watching the beginning of GRETA and she had a man on talking about the funeral of the precious little girl and the how the state of AZ just today made a law to protect that little precious girl’s family from that HATEFUL CHURCH GROUP.  The law stops the protesting an hour before the funeral and an hour after for the families!!  The man said, I forget his name, sorry, but anyway, he stated that the Tea Party was coming to help be Human Shields at the funeral to drown out the CULT, my word, not his, CULT!!

  • lady dawnelle

    she’s perfectly qualified
    and perfectly able

ok anyway – perfectly capable but thanks for the attempt at defense
    no need for caviats right?
“let me be clear, although I DON’T agree with her or think she should be President……”   why is that necessary? I don’t get it?  grrr

    Applause.

  • Geoff C. The Saltine

Larry, that title. The women are going to be pissed. But what the hell after the last two years, we all have had our verity questioned.

  • armymom

She has my vote. In fact, if it’s anyone but her out of the Republicans, I would possibly leave that part blank and just make sure that we get a republican controlled senate and house with enough votes to veto anything Ozero has to offer.

  • jwrjr

Johnny Carson was right – “Roseanne” “singing” sounds like a cat being neutered.

  • Daisy Mae

Geoff C. T. S.  As Mr. K., the father of my neighbor always said, f— ‘em if they can’t take a joke.

  • armymom

That would be assuming that we would just look at the title and not read any further. But with Larry’s post, you always have to read further. I think most of us understand sarcasm. ;)

  • Daisy Mae

Whoops, hit return too soon.  I see the title as making the point that these epithets, so overused, are like crying wolf.  Yelling “waaacist.”  Now it is “rhetoric and vitriol.”  SOS Clinton had these words hurled at her, and I am please to see that speaking out now is much more frequent.  Certainly here. Thanks to all.

  • Babs

Wonderful words, Larry. Thank-you. The Democrats portray themselves as the “party of the people”. Seems more and more Americans are asking only one question, “exactly what kind of people?”

This latest attack on Palin is just so without foundation it absolutely astounds me that the MSM didn’t show more caution in joining the parade. And are they really so unimaginative that they really can’t think of any other source of possible provocation for the violence committed by this madman? Does he play the popular video games that allow one to kill cops, rape women, and commit other brutal acts of violence at the push of a button? Does he attend the ever increasingly violent and brutal movies supplied to us by liberal Hollywood on a regular basis? Are we really to believe that political rhetoric was responsible for this heinous act of violence, when, if we take a step back and open our eyes, we can see we are surrounded by a sea of violence that has absolutely nothing to do with politics.

  • kinthenorthwest

    Armymom–its a lesson I learned a long time a go..

Yes I looked and the title and went Larry what the __________

And then could hardly read the end cause I was laughing so hard…Go Larry  LOL

  • armymom

I like your “signature”. It’s a mouth full. But I remember all those words being hurled at us at some point in time. Makes you just want to cuddle up next to those name callers, don’t it? lol

  • Daisy Mae

Thanks, armymom.  I’ve been compiling these for 2 years now.  I know I’ve missed some, but then I am a a stupid unhinged waaacist (see above)…you get the drift.

  • WhatNow

Hmm, anytime the left and the lame media ratchet up the sound, it appears to me, this is a front for something going on behind the scenes in DC.  Must be in for something real nasty. These attacks on Palin and the Right,  have gotten very childish and loud.

  • sybilll

That makes we regret not inviting all of those Twitterers to Christmas Dinner.  And, all of this unfounded blame on Conservative rhetoric for the deaths of 6 people, and near fatal wounding of a sensible much-loved Democratic Senator has convinced me.  It’s time to be a Progressive.  Have I missed the enrollment date for the class on the reason my work hours were cut in half because the messaging of the stimulus plan was inferior?  ~sarc
Do the Progressives really think this endless unfounded alignment of this guy with the right and it’s rhetoric is going to restore their vanishing base?  On the contrary, it made me pick up a much neglected book.

  • armymom

Yep, it’s watch the left hand while the right hand is doing a slight of hand. It has been their MO for quite a while.

  • AbigalAdams

I’m so grateful these words still offend me as much as if seeing them for the first time.  My fear is that they have become so much a part of the landscape that they go unnoticed.

You nailed it Mr. J.  Sarah Palin is reviled by the left in much the same way the witch was dissolved by water and a vampire dies with the sunlight.  She’s standing on the bedrock of a living faith that no amount of evil intent can move.   Either they cannot fathom that quiet certainty in her or maybe they can, but either way that’s what makes them froth.  Sarah and the people she represents are their waterloo.

    Well done!

  • morris1030

Watching Palin kill animals, etc is not  exactly worth watching. Quitting as Governor of Alaska to opportune for the quick payola is not admirable. Her experience does not equip her for the Presidency. Obama’s lack of experience and poor and lamentable performance are no reason to think Palin is ok simply because she has more[?] experience.

Obama is not my idea of a competent and visionary public servant.
Palin is equipped with the same kind of charisma that Obama showed on the stump.  This certainly does not qualify either to be an effective President.

I have no problem with Palin personally or her right to express herself politically. But her endorsement of some really crazy far right nutjobs isn’t endearing or politically responsible. Many on this blog think Palin’s ideas?? are just fine.  I’d really like to have a detailed political breakdown of all she believes in.  I know…government is bad. Bailout was bad. Anything else?

And calling me a leftie or whatever is sadly  inaccurate because I don’t agree with what I know or have seen about Palin.

We should want far more from any candidate man or woman who qualifies for the job of POTUS.

AMEN Larry!!! The Dems have really gone to far, if anyone has sought to get people enraged it is them and they are continuing to do so. I am stunned that they can’t leave this alone but are using it to tr and gain political favor. That sheriff in AZ left me with my mouth open by what he was saying, here he is saying to tone it down and he was there telling anyone who doesn’t believe like him that we are all stupid morons. I would be afraid to be arrested in his area if he has that much HATRED for anyone but liberal Dems.

Oh…this is the Party of tolerance and non violence. Hmmm.

  • trixta

They’re using the old Right wing trick of throwing mud at their targets to see what sticks.  This also works to frame the discourse.  The Right perfected this tactic on the Clintons; the Left are following suit with Palin  – and Hillary, when it suits them!

  • JayD

Larry, I understand your saying that Mr. Obama is not evil but I must say that he brings out some really nasty stuff in people.  I have never seen this type of overt nastiness within my own party until Obama came onto the scene.

Okay, so he’s not evil but what do you call someone that is like the Pied Piper of Hamelin leading masses of people into oblivion?  Something is causing this to happen even if it’s not overt evil.  A political party does not suddenly become vicious and insane.  Are we in the middle of the invasion of the mind snatchers?  God help us.

I mean Obama could so easily say: “Come on folks, lets stop the nastiness toward one another.”  How hard is it to say this?  It makes me think that I am in the Twilight Zone and our elected officials have simply gone into some nether world that makes no sense.  It’s actually frightening when you think about the level of madness that is running rampant at all levels of leadership.

I love your confidence Blue Moon and I will work to make sure what you say comes to pass. However, I do think it’s going to be a battle. Since the Democrats have the press, the pollsters, and a fierce and effective internet army, it takes fighting to make sure that voters aren’t demoralized and don’t give up.

Without another democrat challenger to Obama ( a serious one ) there will be no reason for the obamacrats to vote in the  dem primary. They will cross over into the republican caucus and primaries and they will work, and work hard to ensure Romney wins the nomination.

And, it’s an uphill battle with Republicans as well. They will use the democrat Palin bashing to serve their own candidacies. Like, was it Pawlenty, to piped in that he agreed that the target maps were too much and that Palin’s words were often too harsh, but that she wasn’t responsible for the rampage. (Well thanks for that, sir. We were holding our breaths waiting to hear what you had to say about it.) Anyway, the republican leadership doesn’t want Palin (strong women aren’t valued in this country) and they will use the Dem bull to their advantage to try to take her down. She’ll be fighting both sides.

Anyway, my point being that it’s going to take vigilance and work.

  • wbboei

A friend of mine called tonight. She told me she sees Sarah Palin as a Joan of Arc figure. She said the left wing media has put her over a spit and is burning her alive. She asked me whether anyone is trying to save her. I told her that Krauthammer and a handful of others have come to her defense, but most of big media is either complicit or afraid to speak out. They are elitists and they despise anyone who truly represents the middle class. She asked me what about the Democrats.  I told her they are feeding big media just as they did in the primary, and now they are calling for moderation in order to consolidate their gains, hoping that people will not notice that they have used similar rhetoric themselves. They are lower than a snakes belly. And then she asked about the Republicans? Surely they are coming to her defense. After all, she was their candidate for Vice President two years ago, and has helped bring the Tea Party into their ranks. I told her that I saw little evidence that they are rallying to her defense. And that begs a further question: what kind of an organization leaves it leaders behind on the battlefield as the vultures swoop in for the kill? An organization of cowards.

  • FranSC

Couldn’t agree more, Larry!  While I would prefer more experience than Palin has (we’ve had enough on-the-job-training for a while) she still has more experience than B0 had in 2008.  She at least has run something!

My biggest outrage is how my former party’s liberal women are stupid enough to not understand destruction of Palin gives permission to the world to continue destroying women in general and women running for elective office in particular – any one of them could be next!

My next outrage are conservatives on FoxNews who only whine about conservative women being trashed to the land fill.  None of them recognize now or in 2008 that Hillary, too, had to fight both members of her own party as well as republicans.  I do recognize Palin has had a harder road with her children being egregiously targeted.  But, the outcome was just as destructive for Hillary - she was robbed of the nomination that was hers.  How much more destructive can you get?

  • wodiej proudamericandawg

    wonderful….

  • wodiej proudamericandawg

whenever someone behaves the way Obama does with dishonesty, he has at the least given an opening to evil.

  • wodiej proudamericandawg

I watched as well. I believe the Freedom Riders will show up and the entire city is coming together from all parties to protect this funeral.  Cripes, did you read some of the statements from these vile people? They were glad the shooter had a gun etc.  Now that’s EVIL.

  • wodiej proudamericandawg

I agree and if morris gave a whit about facts he/she could have easily found out this information on their own.

  • helenk

Since 2008 I have been ashamed that I was a democrat for almost 50 years.Every thing I believed in was trashed. The treatment of Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin was sickening. There true colors came out and it was not a pretty sight.
Sarah Palin is a strong, intelligent women that America should be proud of. She is a woman, a wife, a mother,  a former governor and a person who loves this country and wants what is best for the country and the people.
They who try to bring her down, do so because they fear her.
People are waking up in this country and she is giving them a voice.
Both parties do not want an informed and awake citizen, that is a real threat to them. The old way will not work any more. Promise them anything but give them little is so yesterday.
The more the left and the msm try to belittle and blame Sarah Palin for their mistakes the stronger she will become.

WOMEN WITH INTELLIGENCE AND EXPERIENCE,MEN WHO SUPPORT THEM AND COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS

PUMAS,BUBBAS,EQUALISTS AND THOSE CHATTERING PEOPLE RULE

  • wodiej proudamericandawg

well said.  Republicans have thrown Sarah to the wolves.  They’re a bunch of wimpy cowards as far as I’m concerned.  Some notable people like Newt Gingrich have taken her part as has Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham and Michelle Malkin.
If the Republicans cared about We the People any more than Democrats, they would have circled the wagons around Sarah Palin.

If she was a man, she would already be the designated nominee-and that’s a fact.  There is no one else (at least so far) that has shown an interest in running for president on the GOP side that is remotely close to her integrity, conservative values in addition to her many years of executive experence.

The criticism and derogatory treatment of Palin is only pushing her closer to the top.  What men use for evil, God uses for good.  His plan may not be for Palin to serve as president.  But even if she keeps right on doing what she has been, it’s a win.  I have looked forward to her show the last 2 months and enjoy the appearances she makes on Fox. She’s a real person.

I just think she’s an admirable, courageous woman.  She deserves better than what she is getting from the public and from Republicans.

    I still feel that way.

AG Holder called Americans a bunch of cowards. Sadly, we have a coward for POTUS. Show me evidence where he was out front, fighting for what he believed? He only knows how to be directed (not self-motivated) toward perceived political leverage/capital.

  • Kathleen Wynne

    wodie,

The GOP is filled with men who don’t want this “uppity woman” beating them out of the WH, which they think they are entitled to!  Rove is appoplectic about Palin because she’s undermining his control over the process used by the political establishment in deciding who should get the nomination.  How dare she!

Just like the Democrat boyz were all in a frenzy about Hillary.  They are fighting furiously to hang on to the last male bastion of power, the presidency.  They fear that if a woman ever is “launched into the WH”, their lock on power and control will be lost and they will suffer the fate they have imposed on women since the beginning of time!

Frankly, they are so blinded by their fear of women in power that they don’t realize that a balance of power would do them AND women a world of good.  Now that I think of it, it would do the “world” a lot of good too.

I do not think Obama is evil. I know Obama is a criminal! He like his predacessor has absolutely no business in the White House, but should in fact be in the Big House! I would like NOTHING more, than to see G.W. Bush and B.H.Obama sharing a cell in a Federal Penitentiary!

  • Babs

“Evil”is such a strong word, Larry, and I probably have never used it to describe Obama. That being said, what I find in Obama is a complete lack of a moral compass to guide him, no line in the sand he will not cross to propel himself politically, no matter the cost to others, And to me that total lack of any core principles manifested itself clearly and early in the primaries when he deliberately allowed Hillary to be branded a “racist” to turn the black vote against her. Nothing has changed since then, he never acts or speaks as a leader of a nation, but as a political animal positioning himself for the next battle, the next election. And as a result i see a nation no longer listening to his words and taking them at face value, but immediately dissecting every word, every phrase as to its “real” meaning, its “real” intent. That is an indication of a total lack of trust in the man and his motives, a lack of trust well earned, and a national attitude I hope carries well into 2012, I think we have all learned that being a “great orator” is vastly different from being a leader of men who can draw upon reserves of personal honor and integrity when the health and direction of a nation demand it. We have learned it, but of course the unnswered questioned remains, has Obama?

wodiej:  I could be wrong about this, but I’m not so sure it matters that Palin is a woman so much as she is the face of the tea party and the Republican party has yet to be thoroughly overhauled.  The formal party apparatus is still populated by the broken old guard; the one the tea party is still fighting against.  It’s the same group of people who are as duplicitous as the broken Democrat party is now.  I guess you could say the real battle is between progressives and conservatives and the “face” of the battle at the ballot box is ”Democrats” and “Republicans” – each, “In Name Only.”  That’s why we saw the old guardians Murkowski and Castle doing the things they did in the mid-terms.  The “New Republicans” (for lack of a better moniker) is the tea party.  But at least for now, there doesn’t seem to be a phoenix rising within the old Democrat population.  I think it’s because they haven’t come to grips yet with the reality that their party was hijacked by progressives.  They still need to fully experience their own “Bush II” before that will happen.  In the meantime, disaffected Democrats who recognize the precarious national situation we are in have joined the tea party movement.

All to say:  The tea party loves a patriot and it doesn’t matter if she is a woman or man, or a person with more melanin or not.  The proof of that are walking the halls of congress and leading their states for the first time this year.  Further proof is seen in who founded various tea party “chapters” and is speaking out for them.

Sarah Palin is simply the lightning rod for all the fear and loathing directed by both parties at the rising up of We The People.  Sarah Palin would be just as reviled by the old guard if she were a man.  They would just use a different skillset other than misogyny.

  • Mr. Natural

    Bravo!

Myself, I prefer, “Think SO, do ya?”

  • RPL

There’s actually quite a bit of push back on this, and the biases of the MSM and elite are on full display. Regarding Sarah Palin, the people love her, the Republican establishment hate and fear her (possible exception of McCain, maybe 1 or 2 others). Reagan was reviled as dumb and dangerous, until he wasn’t. Same thing happened way back when in 1980. During the debate, Reagan’s comment “There you go again” put the knife into Carter. The people identify with Palin, and her upbeat personality and willingness to work hard. She’s figured out new media, and her Boyd Cycle (or OODA loops) are faster than the elitists’. This movie ain’t over yet.

Terrific article, Larry….one of your best. It really is time for all of us to step up to the plate (baseball metaphor, hope that’s not offensive). Other than age, Obama had no qualifications to run for president….none. He is not a good speaker as we have learned. He is not briliiant, as we have learned. No foreign poolicy experience other that being able to see Palatine from his house. And, he had literally no experience other than Chicago thuggery and a low-level job as a “community organizer”. Unbelievable that he was elected president.

As for Sarah Palin, I happen to have great admiration for her and her experience and her approach and her intelligence and her political acumen and her womanliness. It’s time for a woman to lead this country and I personally believe it is time for a woman like Sarah Palin to lead this country. Her courage in the face of everything that is coming down is remarkable.

As the parent of a Down Syndrome child, I have added respect for Ms. Palin. My partner and I knowingly brought our child into the world and it has been a deeply satisfying experience, and he is a remarkable child and has added a tremendous dimension to the Santa Fe NM community that we live in. Likewise for Ms. Palin, she accepted her role as a mother and woman, unlike the 95% of other women who abort these children, and has done so with dignity and an understanding of community that Obama could never fathom. And, yet, the liberal media has even made fun of her son, Trig. The liberal left is disgusting and vile and they are the ones contributing to and flaming the fires of bigotry and hatred.

It is unbelievable to me that the left pounds away at O’Reilly, Beck et al and says nothing about the vile kindred such as Maher, Behar, Olberman, Maddow, Matthews and their ilk. These are villinous and reprehensible people, spewing hatred against values that should be, just that, valued. When I look into the eyes of my Down Syndrome son, Sonny, I count my blessing that I have him and not Bill Maher as an offspring.

I did not vote for a president in 2008 but I will vote for Sarah Palin in 2012, if she decides to run……and I personally hope she will set her sights (oops) on that goal…..(there, I didn’t say target).

  • donjo

Its truly amazing to see the very same people who criticize and make fun of others for being Obamabots turning themselves into Palinobots. It’s a strange, strange, world we live in – one without much rhyme or reason.

  • yttik

    Great article, Larry.

People always qualify their defense of SP with, ” I disagree with her on several issues.” I really doubt it because people have had so little opportunity to find out where Palin actually stands on issues. We’re always in the middle of a sludge fest and rarely, if ever, get to hear Palin talk about issues. But if you read her books, her facebook, her articles, she actually has some very sound positions. There is a reason why she had such high approval ratings as governor.

Also, I used to care more about issues and a candidate’s stated position then I do now.  I’ve learned that what comes out of their mouth during a campaign is really irrelevent.  They say anything to get elected.  Now I care more about character and integrity. I don’t want people who govern from a teleprompter, I want people who realize who they serve and are genuinely connected to country. To be a good public servant, actually requires you to represent the will of the people, so your own personal stand on issues should really take a back seat to that.

  • Guest

Honestly. Politicians will continue to take and take from us regardless of political party. Presidents are not saviors, more likely than not, they will continue to do what the last president did

Palin is only the latest outspoken outsider who naively believes she can effectively change nearly intractable policies and procedures. Good luck with that. Once learned, independent voters will not be twice burned. The 40% in the middle, many of whom respect and like her, will not see her as presidential material. Period. :)

    Thumbs up Larry!!!
If the conversation is about violence, let’s talk about movies and television programs that are instruction manuals for every depraved, demented, and deadly act known to man(maybe)!
That might get a little too close to home for these “stars” who profit from them!

  • surfered

Yes, Sarah Palin has been ridiculed.  Unfortunately, it is the price of celebrity in our society.  Next time your in line at the grocery store or commissary, look at the covers of the National Enquirer and the like.  Rumors of infidelity, compromising photos of the starlet without make up or showing cellulite at the beach.  And Sarah Palin relishes her celebrity.  She has her own reality show on TV for God’s sake.  And she’s cashing in on it.

The difference in the two sides, of course, is where are the death threats?  Show me those calling for her assassination. Show me where her critics are threatening armed insurrection.  Show me the politicians on the left threatening to use their 2nd Amendment rights to take their country back.  Show me the supporters of the left carrying weapons to political rallies.

The right has incited it’s extremists using violent rhetoric.  And I’ve listed the consequences in yesterday’s post.  These were not crimes of poor taste, these were crimes of violence incited by the right’s violent rhetoric.  They haven’t gotten the same national attention as what happened in Arizona, but they happened, none the less.

    Oh, my.

    How I loved that man.

My fist hubby ran into John Wayne at the Los Angeles airport once…literally.  He turned down a corridor carrying his brain bag and came smack up against Wayne.  Now, Dick wasn’t a small man himself…6″2″ and 220 lbs…but he said that when he hit Wayne it was like running into a brick wall.  While he was still gathering himself John Wayne shocked him by apologizing for the collision before Dick could get the words out.

We Iowans are proud to claim John Wayne as a native son, born in Winterset, the seat of Madison County.  Thank you, kinofthenorthwest, for posting this.  Truer words were never spoken.

It’s abominable that the Dems are trying to use the AZ incident to smear Palin.  Poor AZ, the Dems have that state in their crosshairs.

The Left has just as much hate rhetoric as the right, more lately.  Obama decided that’s the way to get power.  My Obama step sons both talk constantly about how Obama should be dictator, that whatever they want that the law forbids should be legal so they are going to take it anyway.  That’s Left thinking.

Where the hell have you been hiding? Is is that you only see what you want to see? We’ve listed sites for you to see where they’ve called for the killing of Palin, before Arizona. Have you not checked them out because you don’t want to believe that your party, the party that most of use to belong, could possible be lower than a snake’s belly? You can find them, you don’t want to . It doesn’t serve your purpose. You are truly pathetic and I’ll pray for you because you most definitly need it. Pawlenty said that he personally wouldn’t have used the targeting imagery. What’s wrong with that if its the truth?

I like Sarah Palin too but I don’t think she should be exempt from any criticism.

But then I “like” Tim Pawlenty and think that he would be a good president in spite of our being told 24/7 by the media that he has no “charisma.” But then I never thought Oblahblah had any either but he certainly did not have the experience of common sense of Tim Pawlenty.

I also think that sometimes Sarah Palin gets in trouble because she tweets too fast and shoots from the lip. Experience will take care of that I think.

  • jwrjr

Palin doesn’t have as much experience rabble-rousing and taking vacations as Obama.  (Two more reasons to vote for her.)

  • armymom

I have nothing against Pawlenty but I dont just think he doesn’t have “charisma”, he doesn’t have gravitas. He is a whimp and we sure do not need another one. We have Obama now and look how well that has served us with our enemies. Pawlenty, to me, seems to go with the wind. If it’s taking the “middle road”, then you can’t get in trouble, but you also can’t take a stand. He seems to ME to sit on the fence too much.

    GREAT POST, LARRY!!!

    Despite massive effort, liberals
    fail to convince America that
the right is to blame for shootings

    Original Article

    1/12/2011

After several days of being inundated with the most fantastic smears, lies, and exaggerated rhetoric, only 32% of the American people – fewer than the percentage who identify themselves as Democrats – believe that political rhetoric was to blame for the Arizona shootings. CBS News: Overall, 57 percent of respondents said the harsh political tone had nothing to do with the shooting, compared to 32 percent who felt it did.

  • kenoshamarge

I often wonder why anyone pays any attention to the likes of Roseanne Barr. What makes her an authority on anything?

    Or Sharon Obsbourne? Please.

As for the misognyistic asshat Bill Maher, are you kidding me? What makes him an authority about anything? He’s just a loudmouth with neither sense nor decency.

If anyone has descended to listening to these people, add in the POS Joy Behar, then there is no hope for them.

I listen to a great many people on the issues and then make up my own mind.

One of the things I’ve decided is not to waste my time with the likes of Roseanna Barr, Sharon Osbourne, Bill Maher etc. etc. etc.

  • armymom

I have nothing against Pawlenty but I dont just think he doesn’t have “charisma”, he doesn’t have gravitas. He is a whimp and we sure do not need another one. If it’s taking the “middle road”, then you can’t get in trouble, but you also can’t take a stand. He seems to ME to sit on the fence too much.

Also, hind sight is 20/20. Of course he would say “he wouldn’t use the “targeting imagery”. The left has used it as a punching bag, even though they theirselves have used it and other imagery as well. So for Pawlenty to say he wouldn’t have used it, I don’t buy it. And where the hell was he in sticking up for Sarah. He knows damn well that the “imagery” didn’t cause this in Arizona, but he sure didn’t comment on that, no, just that he wouldn’t have used it. Some stance.

  • susiepuma

Sorry kenoshamarge – pawlenty was my Governor and for all his talk about being a ‘conservative, blah, blah, blah’ – he is a milquetoast male RINO who cowers in his little corner – our State is not as much of a mess as some others who had/have Dem leaders but he sure as hell could have done more when Franken stole the senatorial election (BTW -didn’t vote for Coleman either – voted for Independent) & he could’ve stepped on Ritchie (Soros Sec of State here) for the same basic bullshit during the Governor’s race – Hennepin County voting machines conveniently went offline and votes were not lost – I am shocked, I tell you – just shocked that gambling is going on here…… (ref to Casablanca – my favorite movie).

Sarah Palin has an excellent response on Facebook this morning – was just watching a stupid Dem on FOX still trying to pin the Tucson events on Sarah Palin – I am now convinced that there are no sane Democrats – they are all demented and it starts at the top with the fraud – wonder if he will have time to plagarize any parts of Sarah’s speech (I will not watch him so will have to read written transcript of his spendiferious teleprompter groper written speech on the tube tonite)……………..

Sarah Palin has my vote for President and she certainly is not exempt from criticism…………..my god – it’s all over the place…

  • kenoshamarge

Somehow I had never seen that. Thank you so much for posting it. I am going to spread it far and wide. Thanks again for sharing. One more reason for me to be and remain a fan of “Duke” Wayne.

My friends and family as well are Independents and we’re ready to pull the lever for her as President.

  • kenoshamarge

Maybe I’m still not suspicious enough but I think it’s just their belief that no crisis should be wasted as they prepare for 2012. And for some reason Sarah Palin must not be defeated, she must be destroyed. To me that seems as if they fear her a great deal. You don’t bring out your biggest guns and the most guns to attack a mouse.

Oh and can I nominate the biggest lie I’ve heard from Oblahblah as when he said in some interview that he “didn’t think about Sarah Palin?” Obvious lie or he’s dumber than a poker chip.

Every sign points to Paranoid Schizophrenia

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/01/12/krauthammer_every_sign_points_to_paranoid_schizophrenia.html

The headline in your blog post almost made my head fly off, Larry. Yes it’s effective, but I have a difficult time with it, and wish to never see it again. I remember T-Shirts about Hillary using the same language, that were equally disturbing.

    Caution: Rant Ahead.

Is there RAGE on the right? WELL THERE IS NOW.

I cannot recall EVER feeling such outrage at Democrats; but after the barrage of bile I’ve read the past few days, I’m truly and completely outraged.

The sanctimony and hypocrisy coming from the left, as they vent such poisonous hatred themselves is stunning!

After the horrific shooting in Tucson, we have ALL been subjected to the most vicious and disturbing rhetoric from the left that is imaginable. The things I’ve read from “Democrats” are UNHINGED.

Sarah Palin has NEVER said anything to incite violence; in fact, she has highlighted her family life–a quite normal, close, loving family life. She has been mocked, vilified, and viciously attacked for her family life—repeatedly.

It’s SICK; Democrats are sick. I am outraged.

What is it about?! Does Sarah Palin have strong political beliefs, a passion for the Constitution? Yep. Is that cause for inciting violence? Only from leftists who, like Michael Lind recently wrote, think the “Constitution is not Sacred.”

But in our country, The Constitution IS Sacred.

That is why, when a President is sworn into office on the day of their inauguration, they put their hand on the bible and swear to “PRESERVE, PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, SO HELP ME GOD.”

They don’t swear on the bible to preserve, protect and defend the Democratic Party. They swear on the bible to “preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the United States SO HELP ME GOD.Congressional and Senatorial representatives do the very same thing; as do military inductees.

Think about that for a moment. And, then think about the fact that people like Ezra Klein and Michael Lind MOCK IT.

I am incapable of fathoming a political ideology–from either right or left–which MOCKS THE CONSTITUTION.

I REJECT those people with all of my heart and soul. I RECOIL from those people. They are REPULSIVE to me. Most Americans feel the same way. Trust me.

So, the Democratic Party had better REIN IN THEIR OWN POLITICOS AND MEDIA, because they are REPULSIVE to most Americans these days.

The recent election should have sent them that message, but the past 3 days have exposed DEMOCRATS for what they are–AND THEY ARE REPULSIVE AND UGLY.

The people who have so viciously attacked Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh as being the source of Jared Lee Loughner’s violent act in Tucson are disturbed individuals in their own right. People like Paul Krugman, Drew Weston, and others, are SICK people. Their compatriots in both the media and the Congress and Senate are DISTURBED. And, the American people SEE IT QUITE CLEARLY.

Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity have behaved responsibly during this hideous outpouring of hate from the left. And, the American people see that, too.

  • sandi78

Obama had “charisma”? I’ve always found him to be repellent.

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, has me admiring her even as I disagree with most of her political views.

  • sandi78

I just watched that video on the Guardian’s website. It was really excellent, and I’ll bet much more meaningful than whatever Obama says. The reason for that is partly that you know Sarah Palin means what she says and feels the same as most people do about this tragedy. Obama will somehow make it all about him.

  • armymom

    ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

  • NAN

ROSE-(Ann Barr) ROSE (ROSIE 0)…A Rose by anyother name is still a Rose…two peas in a pod, I’d say.
and on another pedal of another type of flower, is this..

Just a note about Sarah WHO, her latest is “BLOOD LIBEL” (NOW remember that Gabby is Jewish)…corss hairs over Gabby face…you have to wonder is Sarah STUPID or is she EVIL.  Is she ill-informed as what people are asking to say or post on her tweeter or MUGbook…DON’T RETREAT RELOAD..?????
Blood libel (also blood accusation[1][2]) refers to a false accusation or claim[3][4][5] that religious minorities, almost always Jews, murder children to use their blood in certain aspects of their religious rituals and holidays.[1][2][6] Historically, these claims have–alongside those of well poisoning and host desecration–been a major theme in European persecution of Jews.[4]
The libels typically allege that Jews require human blood for the baking of matzos for Passover. The accusations often assert that the blood of Christian children is especially coveted, and historically blood libel claims have often been made to account for otherwise unexplained deaths of children. In some cases, the alleged victim of human sacrifice has become venerated as a martyr, a holy figure around whom a martyr cult might arise. A few of these have been even canonized as saints.
In Jewish lore, blood libels were the impetus for the creation in the 16th century of the Golem of Prague by Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel. Many popes have either directly or indirectly condemned the blood accusation, and no pope has ever sanctioned it.[7] These libels have persisted among some segments of Christians to the present time, and recently Muslims as well.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between an “evil” person and someone who worships himself and devotes much of his energy to making sure that others do also.  It’s probably because Satan the Devil is the most common prototype of such behavior . . .

  • armymom

Seriously, who the hell cares. Most people, like me know that she means that there was blood shed and propogandists and journalists used that tragedy to further their agenda. Enough said.

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703667904576071913818696964.html

So as the usual talking heads begin their “have you no decency?” routine aimed at talk radio and Republican politicians, perhaps we should turn the question around. Where is the decency in blood libel?
To paraphrase Justice Cardozo (“proof of negligence in the air, so to speak, will not do”), there is no such thing as responsibility in the air. Those who try to connect Sarah Palin and other political figures with whom they disagree to the shootings in Arizona use attacks on “rhetoric” and a “climate of hate” to obscure their own dishonesty in trying to imply responsibility where none exists. But the dishonesty remains.

So keep up Nan, I know you really want to make a mountain our of a molehill, but it doesn’t work.

I liked these comments from American Thinker about metaphors:

Of course Gun phrases are even older than America itself. Where do you think “lock stock and barrel”
comes from? Flash in the pan? Going off half cocked? Shot your wad? Bring in the big guns? These are
terms that go back to the flint lock era and even before. Only some PC idiot would think these are
    “dangerous” and must be censored.

Where will the censorship of gun terms end? Will businesses no longer be able to say “We aim to please”? Will the Target stores have to shut down? Will we no longer be able to call “Shotgun!” when choosing seats in the car? How about “gunning” the engine? Will the phrase “You ol’ son of a gun!” be verboten? Will The Beatles’ “Happiness is a Warm Gun” or their “Revolver” album be banned (not to mention “Shotgun” by Jr. Walker and the All-Stars)? Will the censors go back in time and expunge “the cereal shot from guns” from those old Quaker Puffed Wheat commercials? Or change the names of Roy Rogers’s horse and dog?

  • ?

I know Perry has said he will not run, but a handsome, conservative, fiscally savvy team they would make!

Since chivalry is evidently dead, the lady is forced to fend for herself–and does so brilliantly. And here is the video to prove it. This is the speech that the gadfly in the White House should have delivered – the high road to unity, as opposed to the low road he rook to keep the controversy alive, by praising the irresponsible behavior of Sheriff Dimwit. There can be no doubt that Big Media jumped the shark and their belated call to tone down the rhetoric is both pathetic and laughable. The only thing I disagree with here is the challenge which Moe Lane throws down to the Dimocratic Party who disenfranchises its own voters and passes trillion dollar bills without bothering to read them to act in a responsible manner. Does a cat bark? If you believe that there are responsible democrats then I agree with you. My point is they are in the minority, their voices get drowned out in the group think, and because Congress acts collectively rather than individually, it is as if they did not exist. They have no impact on an administration that is selling America down the river. They are just rank in file.——————————————————
The video can be found at: http://www.redstate.com/moe_lane/2011/01/12/obamas-tucson-speech-preempted-by-that-woman/(Note: the pushback against the big media hate machine at 5:30 et. seq.)
——————————————————Obama’s Tuscon Speech Pre empted By “That Woman”Moe Lane
Mister President, here’s the bar that you have to clear.
It’s a high one. A much higher one than your attendants are telling you that it is. They are almost certainly telling you to concentrate on the ‘blood libel’ comment – which, by the way, will immediately resonate with at least 40% of the population of the country, mostly because it is darned accurate* – but what you really need to do is take note of the fact that she’s saying the things that the President should be saying right now about the need to come together, the glory of this country – and, yes, that the Democratic party is acting like a bunch of [expletive deleted] right now, and that they need to stop.
Call in your speechwriters. Make them watch this speech. Tell them that you need one just like it, only twice as good. Because if you don’t – if you go with your usual scheme where you try to set yourself up as the only rational solution in a world full of the irrationa – you will merely hasten your irrelevance.
(See also here: I promoted, but I had more to add).
    Moe Lane (crosspost)
PS: I don’t expect you to take this advice. This saddens me as an American, and satisfies me as a Republican. I’d rather that it was the other way around.
*For the record: yes, she undoubtedly meant it. And if anyone out there doesn’t like having their rhetoric being compared to hate-filled bigots trying to instigate violence by spreading deliberate inflammatory lies against another group, then STOP DOING

    She shouldn’t have used a telepromter… ;)

GET A GRIP NAN. Are you intellectually incapable of comprehending the charges against Palin from left-wing wackos lately?!

Well, then, LET ME CLUE YOU IN: READ THIS ARTICLE AND YOU’LL KNOW WHAT PALIN IS TALKING ABOUT!

Didn’t you read that Obama stayed up all night writing his speech? I mean, what more can you want? HaHa!

  • wodiej proudamericandawg

    indeed they would.

What she said was heartfelt, gracious, classy, denouncing what the media did without being whiny or singling anyone in particular out.  She didn’t even single herself out. It shone of leadership.

In her last episode of her show she was out running and would run by other people saying hello and asking their name.  She said “out here, no one is better than anyone else.

I thought the same thing.  :)

I heard from Wendell Goiler (sp) that they were finishing it up this morning. I would bet that he steals some of Palins lines. After all, he isn’t original.

Nan is just a troll who instigates. They are incapable of knowing anything. Their job is to just repeat the mantra…..Sarah Palin must go, Saran Palin is evil…..That’s what they’ve been told and since they are also incapable of researching anything out for theirselves, that’s what they believe. :-D

Can you stretch something that has been frozen with tons of botox?

    (from Wikipedia)

On 20 January 1982, Osbourne bit the head off a bat he thought was rubber while performing at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa. Rolling Stone magazine in 2004 ranked this incident number two on its list of “Rock’s Wildest Myths.”[76] While the Rolling Stone article stated the bat was alive, the teen who threw it onto the stage said it was brought to the show dead.[74] According to Osbourne himself in the booklet to the 2002 edition of Diary of a Madman, the bat was not only alive but also managed to bite him, resulting in his having to take rabies shots.

  • Prime Obot

Well, one thing we’ve learned about Palin today that could help her in 2012 is that she’s good at reading a teleprompter! I thought it was cute the way the teleprompter screen was reflected in her glasses. Maybe the President will comment on that in his next speech, the way she excited everyone so much by making fun of his use of this common communications tool.

Also, whoever on her staff wrote her Facebook post this morning was unusually literate. It was very well-written.

  • Prime Obot

She can lead, govern, direct, command and also, when leading, governing, directing and commanding get too difficult and stressful, she can also very effectively quit! I really think it’s overstating the case, though, to argue that the reaction to the shootings was that of males fearing a female Half-Governor. There has been a lot of anxiety in the press this week about right-wing hate speech in general; sexism has been the least of the factors in play. Palin is just a primary focus because she’s incredibly famous, extremely fond of violent, gun-oriented, hyper-partisan language and published a map showing Congresswoman Giffords in gunsights. Oops! I agree that it’s radically overstating the case to say that she is directly to blame for these murders. Obviously she isn’t. The schitzophrenic dude who fired the gun is to blame for these murders. But it is also quite obviously reasonable to be concerned about America’s culture of violence and increasingly incendiary political rhetoric, and the right wing in general and Sarah Palin in particular are undeniably prime offenders.

  • BIINKY

    Obama should be dictator

    What a frightening thought!

  • Prime Obot

Actually, it was Obama who was “unelectable,” remember? You all kept insisting that to me throughout 2008. So you should have hope for SP!

  • armymom

PLease read the other posts that will call your BS. I’m not going to try to educate you again as I realize that it’s impossible to piss up a rope.
And perhaps you can explain the DLC’s use of their map with target marks back in 2004.

  • armymom

Poor bot, don’t worry. Obama will ALWAYS be known as the illiterate president who couldn’t string a complete sentence together without his teleprompter. Um, uh, uh, uh, um you know what I mean? It’s like watching a tennis match with that bobble head going back and forth. I’m surprised that he hasn’t been treated for some kind of neck ailment.

  • armymom

Last I knew, he actually won by stealing delegates. Who the hell elected him?

The root word of violence is ‘violate’, when someone violates another’s person or their space.

When Letterman suggested that Alex Rodriguez have sex with Palin’s 14 year old daughter, Bristol Palin, (this should have ended his career) he was in fact encouraging a violent act, it’s difficult to see it another way. The fact that it took loud and justified public outcry before Letterman realized the level of his vile intent with the joke, indicates that he was totally clueless about how depraved such a suggestion truly was.

The irony on display here is that the most vocal creeps on the left, who are crying the loudest about the vitriolic right, are quite often the worst offenders when it comes to inflammatory and derogatory speech. During the campaign, Obama, the leader of the left, weakly disguised his contempt for Palin (lipstick on a pig), Clinton (the finger, and brushing her like dirt off his shoulder), and McCain (again the finger). Such tawdry and petty incidents of malicious intent coming from Obama set’s the tone for the entire left, it lowers the bar for what used to be considered sleazy and offensive discourse to enter the general public domain. When asked multiple times if he would condemn such filth as “Palin is a C**t” T-shirts, or if he would discourage acts the of violence that were being done in his name, he dodged the question or quickly changed the subject. He not only turned a blind eye to a number of disgraceful incidents perpetrated by his supporters, but by his avoidance of the issue, he seemed to be encouraging it. As the leader of the left, his casual and frequent pettiness, his ’99 problems and the bitch ain’t one of ‘em’ attitude, has done far more to create a hostile political atmosphere than ANYTHING Beck or Limbaugh have ever said or done. He’s the leader of his party, and he has also been the leader in the decay of civil discourse, he’s the coach of a team who has encouraged his players to play dirty, and they’re doing a great job of it.

Noonan, you nailed it!  You are so right on.  As I’ve read the Left’s rants against Sarah Palin and Conservatives, I’m more and more convinced that a mental illness has invaded the Democratic Party.  And the more I read/hear, the angrier I get that the media is perpetuating this idiocy.  This sleeping tiger is now fully awake and will not go back to sleep.  Thanks for your post.

I think it was an EXCELLENT speech and I commend Gov. Palin for her leadership, but most especially AT THIS MOMENT for her MATURITY.

Now, they’re all shrieking about her use of the words “blood libel” because it has to do with Jewish history–so it’s use by Sarah Palin is somehow anti-semitic; and she is not allowed to use the term because Gabriel Giffords is Jewish.

It’s LUDICROUS. Sarah Palin is one of the biggest supporters of Israel and Jews; so I find it appalling–but not surprising–that liberal Jews are now attacking Palin for her use of the term “blood libel.”

But here’s what is so appalling:  Liberal Jews will shamelessly trivialize their own history in a most vicious exploitation of it–to attack Sarah Palin, who has long been a vocal supporter of Jews. That’s the definition of pathetic.

when making a comment such as this provide evidence to back up the claim.
WE are now entering the period of time when the candidates will be stepping forward to claim a place in the next election cycle. Sadly many of the leading republicans are the same faces of the old party that has already been rejected by the American populace.  New faces are emerging, but the msm constantly covers only the old. Yes Palin has caught the attention of many, including myself, but I have not yet made a decision about who I will support.
I can explain in part why Palin has such a following. When attacks from the left did not end with the proclamation of Obama on November 2 2008, she put the people of her state first and removed herself from bringing the whole state into the nightmare of constant legal attacks by the left. When she did this she did not pull up her tent and hide. She continued to speak out clearly about her values. Yes, some of the candidates she supported in 2010 ended up looking like nutcases, but much of that is due entirely to the provocation of the leftwing of the msm. In my experience most people will say things they later regret in the heat or excitement of the moment. I have nothing but admiration for these people for putting themselves forward knowing the microscopic study the lives they have lived would undergo. Sarah Palin also has spent a great deal of her own time promoting those who also profess to represent the values she espouses. I also must add that for me there are two other factors that add to my admiration of her. The first of those is that she has never allowed her husband to be demasculinated in all of this. She makes it clear that they are full partners in everything. The second factor is her latest message about the language being used to attack free speech by the liberals and the msm. Watch it, and open your ears to what she has to say. She seems to be very much in touch with the values held by our founding fathers. We need more of that in this time. I cannot say that I will watch the “ONE” at the memorial service tonight. Long ago I found that he used his voice and words written by others to mesmerize the general public. If I read the face, I see no emotion at all and I cannot abide the fact that our president looks not to care one whit about people he represents. He showed the emotions of a snake when speaking of his good friend Gabby Giffords. I will read the words however and measure them up against the strong leadership I heard and saw with the 8 minute clip Palin released.
Before I close, yes there are others I am also watching to step forward in 2012. Some I think might be good, some are smart enough that they are waiting until they feel they have enough experience to be seen as a leader. As a country we are suffering from the lack of experience our President has. It does after all take much more than the ability to speak and run a campaign to lead in the long haul. It takes grit and determination, maturity, experience and the ability to listen and to act as well as the ability to think on their feet. Sorry if I am ranting, but we must all think carefully before jumping on anyone’s bandwagon for 2012. Someone must step up and really be ready and able to lead.

  • Hokma

Abigail – I think you nailed it. Sarah Palin has become “the lightening rod for all the fear and loathing.” Why? Because she represents more than most women “independence” and “self-made.” Everything and the kitchen sink has been thrown at this woman – some of the most vile hate ever spewed – and she is still standing and speaking her mind. She does not fit into the traditional feminist model so she is hated. I have gained enormous respect for her that I did not previously have. She is a populist and at certains points in time in our country’s history populists have won the Presidency.

  • Hokma

While Harry Reid thinks the Tea Party and their supporters are going away, he is living in a glass house. From the minute the shooting happened AP started in with the blame Palin strategy and every liberal newsmedia picked up on it and then spun it even further. Nearly 60% of Americans do not buy it and in this case Democrats will definately rue the day that used this event for political gain. It will not go away and will be an issue in 2012.

  • Prime Obot

If the DLC did the same thing, they were, in my view, wrong and irresponsible.

  • kenoshamarge

Someone who calls himself “Prime Obot” to even mention someone reading a teleprompter is ironic to say the least. Did you listen to what she said or was your simple mind too busy being captivated by the reflection in her glasses?

She spoke with more sincerity and decency and honesty than the POS in the Oval Office has managed to pack into all his speeches rolled into one.

But a sufferer from PDS will never understand what she says because they never listen to what she says. They just make stuff up and pretend it’s truth to feed their irrational hatred.

I admit to having ODS. And I can tell you a dozen or more reasons that I loathe him. Honest reasons. Real reasons. I don’t care that he reads from a teleprompter. That’s irrelevant to me. I can what he says and what he does. And I don’t like them. Thus, I don’t like him.

The problem with his saying that kenoshamarge, is that it accepts the linkage of the shootings in AZ to Palin’s map. No one should be seriously dialoguing about the false issue of Palin and her map of the US with crosshairs on it since it only came up in relation to this shooting, and one has nothing to do with the other.

The only reason to mention it is to set himself apart from Palin and to use the dem attack against her for his own advantage.

  • armymom

And on January 6th of this year, the Huffington Post ran with an article called “My congresswoman voted against Nancy Pelosi and she is now dead to me”. That congresswoman was Giffords. Do I think that article spurred this nutcase? No, and I certainly do not think that a  map with target marks did it either. As a country and as political parties go, we’ve used military lingo for ages. Clinton had a “war room”. We all know the sayings that Obama has said. For the left to equate this madman and the massacre to “violent rhetoric” from the right, well let’s just say it’s going to come back on them and not in a good way. They took a tragedy and made it highly political where it should’t have been. Shame on them.

The defining moment of Bill Maher for me was when Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson appeared on his show a couple of years ago as the featured interview guests.  Joe was decked out in a really beautiful leather jacket and matching leather cowboy “roper” boots.  Unaware of Maher’s outspoken animal rights proclivities, Joe proudly explained at lenth how Valerie had given him the jacket and boots for his birthday and how they were specially made in New Mexico, where they had just relocated (if I recall correctly).  Maher had a look on his face like a Mormon in a whorehouse but, faced with having two newly-minted celebs on who at the time were the left’s latest darlings (through no fault of their own), didn’t have the ‘nads to chastize Joe for cruel and promiscuous use of animal skins.  You can bet your ass that if that had been W on the show displaying so much leather, Maher would have been merciless.   I laughted my ass off at Maher’s hypocrisy, and remember it fondlly whenever my TV accidentally lands on his show.

And she has a track record of LISTENING to all sides, regardless of her personal beliefs.

    “Mormon in a whorehouse”

     Now that’s funny.

But he was “selectable”, and the powers that be made sure he was selected.

Regarding Roseanne’s comment, I am assuming that by expressing her desire to shoot Sarah Palin, she accepts full responsibility if some psychopath actually acts on their own parallel instincts.

  • Mary

Good article. Sara Palin has been trashed by the media, especially the “progressive” Bill Maher the moron resident sexist and, of course, Letterman whose disgusting “joke” merited and did get an apology for Palin (remember her young daughter being raped by a basebal player?)

Remember what the MSNBC’s Jake said that got him reprimanded?  He said on air that Hillary was “pimping Chelsea…..”!! Hillary’s family, like them or not, did not deserve this media bashing nor the RACE-CARD playing of the Obama Campaign.

However, I do take issue with the comment that “with the exception of Obama and HIllary Clinton’s families….”

Lest we forget the most vilified, trashed and slandered candidate in history was HILLARY Clinton.  Her media-bashing is documented by Howard Kurtz’ “Media and Misogyny” May 26, 2008 segment with Carol Costello and a Bush spokeswoman.

What Hillary went through, you wouldn’t want your worst enemy to suffer! This is part of history and cannot be denied by Left or Right!  That uber moron Chris MATTHEWS of MSNBC and that other puny hysterical mouthpiece KEITH OlBERMANN, advocated even violence against her…”take her in the back of the shed”…to stop her run.

After Hillary’s unprecedented media-bashing came Sarah Palin’s disgusting slandering by both media and left wingers.

It’s time that we stopped raising the rhetoric to misogynist levels.

Remember that the words scribbled by psychopathic killer Loughner in Arizona found in his drawer were:

    “GIFFORD….KILL THE BITCH”…

Time to stop the MISOGYNY and heated rhetoric of both Right and Left and return to civility.  After all, we must ensure Michele Obama’s once again “proud to be an American, eh?!!

As a long time Democrat I am very disappointed in how the Democrats, especially the top Democrats are and have been handling themselves.  They have been like egotistical winners and now they are acting like Very sore losers.

I know a lot of this crazy rhetoric has been going on for a long time from both sides, but the Democrats have been pushing the envelope since 2008 on it.  The Democrats have been making and are making Mountains out of words, and incidents that don’t  even exist.

In looking back at the 2010 elections one can see that the voters saw  into many aspects of the Democratic ploys and did not approve.  I truly feel that the  voters  will also see into this crazy rhetoric that is now being passed around and it will backfire on them in 2012.

Im waiting to hear about the tone of the speech tonight by Obama in Arizona. (Sorry I just cant stand to listen to Obama anymore).

Hopefully Obama will not use it as a political soapbox to demean futher our free speech laws and those who are not happy with the current administration..

Hopefully it is a healing peaceful speech to help bring the affected parties, Arizona and the nation together.

America is a country of many cultural, political, religous and other types of diversities.  There have been many times that during tragedies like this our nation would pull together helping each other mend. What Happened?

Can we not all work together as Americans to keep our country the best it can be.  Can we not all get along peacefully? .

I was wondering when you were going to come up for some fresh air, PO’butt. You smell like the south end of a northbound horse, by the way.

Uh, you forgot PO’butt, Abigail, though if you’ve read one troll’s comments, you’ve read them all.

You mean today? yea well I was busy working and I don’t watch the MSM anymore….

  • Prime Obot

Right, I’m not rational. Poor irrational me. Well, yes, I did listen to Palin’s video. I can’t say I particularly disagreed with most of what she said — there’s no question that many commentators were over the top in their blaming overheated political rhetoric for acts of insane violence — but I found her pinched, angry, defensive, self-pitying and ultimately not much of a leader. Kind of a classless statement, actually, and she is getting terrible reviews from the press now (which often fawns over her).

The Half-Governor is in trouble, folks, if you are still seriously considering her presidential material. This week has been disastrous for her chances of winning the Republican nomination. Which is too bad, actually, for us Obama fans. Now we might have to face someone who actually has a chance of winning. ;)

  • Prime Obot

I missed you too, Ferd. And I like your horse line.

  • an observer

I would join in this discussion but I am tooo busy trying to find someone that went to school with Obama at Columbia. Will get back with you as soon as I do.

  • Prime Obot

Man, lemme tell you, there has been quite a lot of politicizing of this tragedy on both sides of the aisle. Including the Half-Governor’s video today, which was explicitly timed to try and steal Obama’s thunder, and written to cast herself, as usual, as the beleaguered defender of the conservative base’s honor (i.e., to appeal to Republican primary voters, who love it when politicians tell them it’s okay to listen to hate speech on Fox News). She and her advisors miscalculated, though. Her video today hurt her politically, and badly.

But you know, we aren’t just talking about violent rhetoric. Here’s an abbreviated list of actual incidents of right-wing violence (or attempted violence) in just the past few years. There is no such list on the left; not even close. Half-Governor Palin is only one of a number of influential voices whose calls of “treason,” “Second Amendment remedies,” and “Don’t retreat, reload” could possibly have influenced some of these people. It’s all very vague and amorphous and at most, what you can say is that people like Palin, Beck and Limbaugh help encourage an atmosphere of anger and hatred that can influence a madman toward violence.

The one thing we can say for sure is that the list is real. I’ll have to post it separately.

  • Prime Obot

Well, there’s plenty of delusion to go around (I personally love Beck’s statement on his radio show that government officials might come take away children who weren’t vaccinated) but I will admit that you are largely correct that my characterization of the Half-Governor’s swing district map was unfair and inaccurate. I was writing quickly and sloppily and I apologize.

Unfortunately we have to endure them and their fawning fleet here in Santa Fe.

  • Gleep

Do you have kids? Have you dealt with public schools lately? I do and I have and what Beck said isn’t so far fetched anymore.  I was late getting my daughter her booster for varicella and I kept getting very nasty correspondence from the school nurse. And yes, she threatened to report me to Child Services…for a varicella booster. So bite me wormdung.
