BREAKING: Obama Land Deal with Rezko and Mutual Bank Subject of New Court Complaint

gma_rezko_obama080110_ms-1.jpg

No Quarter introduced readers to the Mutual Bank in Chicago after a Chicago Sun-Times columnist mentioned how a certain financial institution in Chicago would become the subject of a federal probe to be conducted by Fitzgerald’s prosecutors in relation to the conviction of Antoin “Tony” Rezko. Although I cautioned I did not have conclusive evidence when I argued Mutual Bank is most probably the financial institution in question, it now appears I may have been correct.

For according to a Washington Times exclusive printed today, a Real Estate and Commercial Credit Analyst of Mutual Bank has assumed whistleblower status and filed complaint against his former employer.

The subject of his complaint is the Mutual Bank and its potentially fraudulent reappraisal of the lot on which Obama’s home sits.

Obama, we recall, was only able to purchase the mansion he could not afford in June 2005 as a result of Rita Rezko’s ability to secure a mortgage for the lot on which the home sits from Mutual Bank.

And yes, Obama is involved in this complaint, for his decision to purchase a 10 foot strip of the lot on which his home sits from Rita Rezko in January 2006 was, according to the complaint, the reason why these potentially fraudulent reappraisals of the Rita Rezko lot were drafted.

I quote the Washington Times:

In a complaint filed Thursday in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Kenneth J. Connor said that his reappraisal of Rita Rezko’s property was replaced with a higher one and that he was fired when he questioned the document.

Mr. Connor, a real estate and commercial credit analyst at the Mutual Bank Corp. in Chicago, also noted in the complaint that the bank received a grand jury subpoena in October 2006 requiring it to produce information concerning Mrs. Rezko’s purchase, including the bank’s files on the property.

Mutual Bank, Rita Rezko’s account and the mortgage Rita Rezko received from Mutual for the lot on which Obama’s home sits were the subjects of a grand jury subpoena in 2006. I recommend you read my essay on Rita Rezko, the Obama land deal and Mutual Bank for an explication of why the mortgage she received from Chicago machine banker “Uncle” Amrish Mahajan of Mutual would have raised the eyebrows of federal prosecutors.

The Washington Post continues:

The complaint also said that the grand jury wanted information on Mrs. Rezko’s checking account and loan file and that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) had audited the Rezko file – although Mr. Connor’s lower reappraisal had been replaced with a higher amount.

“Connor’s internal whistle-blowing activity at Mutual Bank implicates Mutual Bank and the potentially guilty officers thereof to prosecution under federal and Illinois statutes,” said the complaint, filed by attorney Glenn R. Gaffney.

The complaint said Mutual Bank officials could be guilty of making false statements, willfully overvaluing property, bank fraud, witness retaliation, willful violation of a lawful subpoena, FDIC violations, and state banking regulations…

According to the complaint, Mr. Connor reviewed the appraisal of the Rezko property by another firm, Adams Appraisal, which had set the value at $625,000. Mr. Connor’s complaint said that he told his bosses in a report that the property had been overvalued by at least $125,000 and that a “reasonable and fair evaluation” should have been no greater than $500,000.

Why would Mutual Bank desire to inflate the value of the Rezko property on which the Obama home sits? Why would Mutual Bank risk obstructing justice? A paragraph in the Washington Times exclusive answers these questions. I quote them again:

The complaint said the Rezko loan was approved by Mutual Bank President and CEO Amrish Mahajan and others so that Mrs. Rezko could buy a 9,090-square-foot vacant parcel of real estate. It said that in January 2006, Mrs. Rezko and Mr. Obama, along with his wife Michelle, signed an agreement to sell a 10-foot strip of the property to the Obamas. At that point, according to the complaint, Mr. Connor’s firm asked him to conduct the reappraisal.

Connor, in other words, was fired for noting that the value of the property had been inflated.

For if Mutual adhered to Connor’s appraisal, Rita Rezko would have received less money from Obama for the ten foot strip of land next to his home he purchased from the convicted slum landlord’s wife.

And Mahajan, the CEO of Mutual, had an interest in ensuring Rezko would receive more money from Obama, for Mahajan is deeply imbricated in the Chicago machine that used Obama to funnel government revenue into the privatization of public housing scheme from which Obama’s friends profited.

Now wonder why Mutual removed Connor’s appraisal from the Rita Rezko file.

Mahajan, the Mutual Bank, Rita Rezko and the Obama land deal are now the subjects of a complaint filed with the Circuit Court of Cook County, and Obama’s financial dealings with the Mutual Bank and with Rita and Antoin “Tony” Rezko are the subjects of news articles that explore Chicago corruption and questionable real estate transactions.

I guess the deal really was “boneheaded.”

No Quarter asked readers to focus on the land deal and on Mutual when the Chicago Sun-Times mentioned that a financial institution is the subject of federal prosecutors’ interest, for Obama’s decision to purchase land from Rita Rezko catalyzed all the press on his questionable land deal with convicted slumlord Antoin “Tony” Rezko.

Now we know that transaction was the subject of a federal subpoena in 2006, and now we know a complaint has been filed against Mutual for intimidating employees and attempting to increase the value of the Obama lot most probably in order to ensure Rita Rezko would receive enough money to repay the $500,000 loan she received from Mahajan and the Mutual Bank even though she only earns $35,000 per annum at her government job.

Much more is to be learned about this land deal. But now that it is the subject of a complaint and a federal subpoena filed in 2006, I imagine we will learn that Obama chose Rezko to tour the mansion and purchase the lot on which it sits in order to ensure that he could later repay Rezko for the land he could not afford.

Why else did Mahajan, one of Rezko’s bankers who also sat on the Chicago Plan Commission of Daley with Valerie Jarrett and Allison Davis, manipulate the value on the lot when Obama was ready to repay the Rezkos for the favor?

Must money always be kept within a small network of corrupt Chicago machine cogs?

I imagine we will read more about Obama and his financial dealings with Rita Rezko and Amrish Mahajan’s Mutual Bank before votes are cast in November. It was a “boneheaded” deal indeed, Senator Obama.

Poll finds Americans reject redistribution of wealth as suggested by Barack Hussein Obama

PRINCETON, NJ — When given a choice about how government should address the numerous economic difficulties facing today’s consumer, Americans overwhelmingly — by 84% to 13% — prefer that the government focus on improving overall economic conditions and the jobs situation in the United States as opposed to taking steps to distribute wealth more evenly among Americans.

Pissed off and Pissed on American’s are the hardest working American’s. Now having vetted Joe the Plumber Obama will go after Kenneth J. Connor the loan processor. This would be a hoot to watch if the consequences wern’t so important.

I think the MSM has figured out a couple things: Obama can’t seal the deal and there is way too much corruption attached to Obama. If they don’t start vetting Obama now they are going to take the fall when it does hit.

Everyone Abord: Wright, Ayers, Rezko, Pflager, ACORN, Dodd, Frank, Pelosi, Reid..Joe the Plumber, Ken the loan officer…

To be hnest, I don’t see what’s so “breaking” about this “report”.

On another note, the few times I watch tv on cnn, the anchor heavily laden in makeup, is interviewing someone about ACORN. She continually leads the guest on with her questioning, suggesting it’s not that big of a deal for people to lie on the voter registration forms because, you know, it’s really not voter fraud because they haven’t actually voted yet! Unbelieveable

This gives the person being interviewed the perfect opening to decry the ACORN investigation as politically motivated since the authorities (whoever they may be) have known abut ACORN’s unsavory illegal activities for months.

So it’s perfectly ok what ACORN is doing because a.) the “authorities” have been aware for months and b.) it’s not so bad because these liars who filled out the forms have not actually trid to vte 77 times – yet.

Hmmm. And this is not anti-American? What say ye Jimmy Carter?

  • No Obama for me

I too agree that Ken the loan officer will be hunted down like an animal by the Obama thugs and they will do what they have to Joe the Plumber HOWEVER he can take his cue from Joe, and just say NO DEAL.
Joe may have the plumbers union or whomever after him but he is the winner here and better still we

It all mounts against Obama, doesn’t it?

However, none of this is getting across to America because the MSM is pathetic.

I’ve even had it with Fox. They seem intent on using this election to prove their “Fair and Balanced” campaign, by failing time and time again to set the record straight.

I just saw one presenter, I don’t recall her name (pretty woman with long dark hair) interviewing some demented Obama spokeswoman about his tax plan. She sounded like she had some good points to make to the Obamabot, for instance that many middle income families in America will be hit hard by unemployment caused by Obama raising taxes on businesses, but she just let herself get talked over by this stuck record who kept repeating the Obama mantra that “98% of small businesses make less than $250,000 a year.”

And then she just said “OK, thanks” and that was the end of the interview.

But why won’t any of these idiots point out something obvious? That it’s not the NUMBER of businesses that make less than $250,000 that is important. It’s how big those businesses are and how many people they employ. To the Obama campaign, a mom and pop store on Main St is weighted the same way that Wal-Mart is, even though one employs thousands more than the other.

Let’s talk relevance – that only 50-60% of Americans are employed by the kind of small businesses that make up 98% of the total NUMBER of businesses. The rest are employed by big businesses, some of which employ tens of thousands. To raise their taxes WILL cause unemployment and WILL affect more than the 2% that Obama’s campaign suggests.

Fox news has been LAME at calling Obamabots out on their manic bullshit. They just let them talk and talk and talk and repeat the same crap again and again and then wrap up the interview letting them get the last word. What the hell is wrong with them?

  • lisa in va

Too late in my book. After this election I want investigations into the press and resignations…not just of the bobbleheads, but up the chain of command. Full accountability into their gross dereliction of duty…nothing less.

I’d like to see all the details on that split, have you ever seen a parcel split twice in such a short period of time? You could see this was a crooked deal from the start, maybe Obama thought everything would be good in Daleyville, that they could cover this little bit of Corruption. Obama is REALLY STUPID, he knew Rezko had the FEDS looking at him when he did the dael with Rezko, guess he couldn’t stand the pressure from Michelle, she needed a better house, she deserved much more. This is the Smoking Gun that will take Obama down, this shows that Rita Rezko overpaid for the vacant lot by at least $125,000. She paid more so Obama could pay less for his House. This House and Lot were always one parcel for at laest 80 years. Obama couldn’t afford the whole package so they got the owner to make a split of the parcel, chopping off a 60 ft lot for Rezko to buy. Both the House and Lot closed on the same day because the owner would only sell them together, that is how he bought it.

Statement On Obama Campaign’s Letter To Justice Department On Voter Fraud

ARLINGTON, VA — Today, McCain-Palin 2008 Spokesman Ben Porritt issued the following statement in response to the Obama campaign’s letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey:

“After a week of shifting stories and clumsy corrections regarding Barack Obama’s connections to ACORN, the Obama campaign resorted to their now-customary heavy handed tactic of attempting to criminalize political discourse. Today’s outrageous letter to Attorney General Mukasey and Special Prosecutor Dannehy at the Justice Department asking for a special prosecutor to investigate Senator McCain and Governor Palin’s public statements about ACORN’s record of fraudulent voter registrations (including in this week’s Presidential debate) is absurd. It is a typical time-worn Washington attempt to criminalize political differences. For someone who promises ‘change,’ it is certainly only more of the same.

“The letter’s request that the Department of Justice investigate ‘recent partisan Republican activities throughout the country’ is almost a parody of the Obama campaign’s attempt to intimidate their political opponents. In case Sen. Obama’s lawyer did not notice, we are in the midst of a political campaign, not a coronation, and the alleged criminal activity he calls ‘recent partisan Republican activities’ are what the rest of us call campaign speeches and debates. All of this is unfortunately reminiscent of the Obama campaign’s recent creation of a ‘truth squad’ of Missouri prosecutors and sheriffs to ‘target’ people who criticize Sen. Obama. Rest assured that, despite these threats, the McCain-Palin campaign will continue to address the serious issue of voter registration fraud by ACORN and other partisan groups, and compliance by states with the Help America Vote Act’s requirement of matching new voter registrations with state data bases to prevent voter fraud.”

    Truthteller,

The Chicago Tribune printed a story about Obama’s house on November 1, 2006. I found it in the on line archives earlier this year. I was not able to find it today, but someone else with more time to look may be able to find it.

I always had the feeling that Obama wanted the house and could not afford both so he approached Rezko who he knew would help him buy it. It’s like approaching your grandparents to get the toy you want and your parents say they can’t afford.

“I always had the feeling that Obama wanted the house and could not afford both so he approached Rezko who he knew would help him buy it. It’s like approaching your grandparents to get the toy you want and your parents say they can’t afford.”

It’s actually worse than that because anytime a politician (Obama) owes a favor, that is just bad news… This is a stinky – and has always been a stinky – deal. And, we as we are now learning, reeks of corruption.

I just saw a posting on the API web site

The Michelle Obama story to be updated tomorrow the 19th of October

Posted by africanpress on October 18, 2008

We would like to inform all our readers that update on Michelle Obama story will be released tomorrow.

We have understood the importance that the American people put into electing the right candidate for the Presidency.

It is important that the tapes be released and all can judge for themselves what Mrs Obama meant and why it has come at the near-end of electioneering. The fact that the mainstream American media has been reluctant to reveal what they know about Obama is very unfortunate.

The American mainstream media seems to be interested in excitement and we all know that the only excitement at present is for some to say they witnessed history of some kind – the election of a black man to govern the only powerful nation in the world.

All the readers should exercise patience. We in API promise that you will get to know the truth when the recordings are finally released.

Is the poo poo about to hit the fan. I SURE HOPE SO!!!

  • fif

No it won’t. He’ll lie his way out of this like he does everything else, and the media will cover it up and make excuses for him. We’ve seen it over and over again. People are not getting real information, and so many of them are drunk on Kool Aid, they will not believe facts.

  • brio

Sorry, but I don’t share your optimism about any of this bringing Obama down before the election. I work at a university in Arizona (McCain’s home state), the director of my department is an ardent Obama supporter. She has a PhD and can’t tell me anything that Obama has accomplished legislatively. None of this will dissuade her.

She actually told me that Obama was the only senator who stood up and voted against the Iraqi war. When I told her that Obama wasn’t even in the senate when the war started, she didn’t believe me. I told her to count how many years the war had been going on and how many years Obama had been in the senate. She said she would look it up and prove I was wrong. She’s never gotten back to me on that point.

She also quickly changes the subject when I tell her that Palin has more experience than Obama. I can see that she doesn’t like Palin’s POV, but that doesn’t dismiss Palin’s experience as mayor and governor–no matter how short in time.

When dealing with people like this, nothing will change their minds. Remember, she has a PhD and she isn’t the only one in our dept. who won’t stand for any negative views of Obama.

Now I don’t believe Palin has any foreign policy experience–McCain brings that to the ticket. But Obama doesn’t have any foreign policy experience either–that’s why he picked Biden. A trip through Europe and elsewhere after he was the nominee doesn’t cut it. Palin could do the same.

The clincher for me: when I asked her how she felt about Obama’s stand on FISA, she didn’t care. I said that no democrat should ever agree to spying on Americans. Her argument? If the Republicans can do it, why shouldn’t Democrats? It’s a lost cause.

According to obama the sellers were desperate to sell that’s why he got a great deal on the house. Why would rezko pay the asking price for lot next door if the sellers were so desperate? Does not make sense.

Has anyone found an original listing on-line for the property and the lot. I would love to see what the asking price for each. Was there ever a listing for that lot next door that asked for $627,000 which is the price rezko paid for it.

My theory still: rezko over paid for the lot so obama could under pay for the house. The sellers wanted as close to 2.5 million as they could get. What the hell do they care if somebody offered one dollar for the house and 5 million dollars for the lot. That’s an extreme example but it makes my point. The sellers didn’t give a damn that the obamas underpaid for the house because rezko made it up by over paying for the lot.

  • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

We will see. If they have a recording that can be verified, then it will be interesting to see the reaction.

Somewhere I read that the previous owners knew her through the U. of Chicago. And I suspect that a social climber would know the beautiful old historic houses well; this reminds me very much of some in Denver that I yearned for. So, I am a little more skeptical than you. I think she may have managed to get on the board in the aim of finding such a house, because she had wanted one as she grew up.

  • Arabella Trefoil

Yeah. I loved the program (Hannity?) where a female reporter showed where Obama lived and then walked up to Ayers’ house and knocked on his door. She was wearing pumps, which made the whole thing funnier. She pointed to Farrakhan’s house, but didn’t walk up to it.

They are doing it for party unity, nothing else, you see Bill Clinton being interviewed on TV, he is BEGGING us Hillary supporters to vote for McCain, isn’t it obvious, they HAVE To support Obama, otherwise they will be kicked out of the party. When Bill was talking to Greta about Reverend Wright the look on his face was PRICELESS, but I Do agree with you, as a fellow hillary clinton supporter I am disgusted at how now she has to be Obama’s bitch, that is NOT the woman I voted for, the woman I voted for would say “Hey, this guy isn’t electable, don’t vote for him” but instead she bends down and kisses his ass, I know that if Hillary ran again in 2012 I wouldn’t vote for her, I would vote for Sarah, Sarah doesn’t take crap from no one, she wouldn’t support someone who openly called her husband a racist and dissed her every chance they got. That is the difference between Sarah and Hillary, yes Hillary is a seasoned politician, but Sarah has something that Hillary does NOT have and that is GUTS

  • fif

You are entitled to your opinion, but to say Hillary doesn’t have “guts” after what we witnessed in the primaries–how tirelessly she fought, working 20 hour days for months in the face of fierce opposition from every corner is ridiculous. She has more strength than most people, and has endured this adversity for years, and is still making great legislative strides that benefit average Americans in the Senate. That is her focus and her passion. I do not, in any way, support her campaigning for BO, but she gave her word she would do it and she has. She is human, and we do not know the whole story. Bill said he would reveal all after January, and it will be interesting to see what really happened behind the scenes. Politics is an ugly, ugly business. I don’t pretend to understand how anyone can swim in that cesspool. Sarah hasn’t been on the national stage long enough to see how she will respond. Time will tell.

gallops new voter model turn out shows tightening:

Gallup Daily: Obama Maintains LeadAmong registered voters, Obama now leads 50% to 42%

Gallup’s expanded likely voter model, based on respondents’ answers to questions about current interest in the election and intention to vote, shows a 50% to 46% race, which is a more narrow lead for Obama among this group than in previous days. If turnout in this year’s election follows traditional patterns by which the voting electorate skews towards those who usually vote as well as those who are interested in this year’s election, the race shows Obama leading at 49% to 47%, where it has been among this group for three days.

lots of big old beautiful home are purchased with the help of historical tax credits. it would mean that when they renovated, they’d have strict historical guidelines in which to follow. if they didn’t there are financial penalties. otherwise, if they retained the historical integrity they could have received a great deal of financial support from the city and state.

by not applying tells me, and environmental and historical professional, that they had no intention of retaining it as an historical artifact so to speak.

  • Elliott

I do not think it was. The city records did not show it was until after the purchase. The lot was the original garden to an 100+ year old house and very important in its value.

  • Kal

No, that new cast iron fence Rezko had installed and paid for to mark the new lot line after Rita sold BO the 10 foot strip is perfectly consistent with the rest of the fencing, and I doubt they ever planned to do anything nonheritage re the rest of the vacant lot — indeed, I believe that the plan was (and probably still is, just delayed until after BO wins POTUS) for BO to buy the rest of the lot, as a whole or in more bits (but planning authority? even in Chicago?!), and to pay as little for it as someone could be pressured into valuing it for in light of the bursting of the real estate bubble.

And don’t forget that both Rezko and BO knew, by virtue of BO being on the Chicago olympic planning board, that there were confidential negotiations going on with the city and then with the olympic committee to sell the Chicago olympic plan by having it in a minority neighborhood for race/development reasons. And now with this house smack in that neighborhood, that no-doubt handy confidential information was put to good use, because the value of real estate in that immediate area is going to skyrocket. I don’t think BO ever does anything by halves, judging by the details of his similarly crooked rise in politics.

Well said. Hillary gave everything she had in the primaries, and she nearly pulled it off despite the despicable antics of Dean, Pelosi et al. If she is to remain a credible force within the Democratic party, she and Bill had no choice but to campaign for the fraud. Knowing Obama’s tactics as we do, I have little doubt that she has been threatened and bullied along the way – personally, I can live with her doing what she has to do to survive within her own treacherous party. I derive some comfort from the fact that she will remain within the Senate and that she may be in a position to rally support and exert a moderating influence if McCain doesn’t prevail and we wake up in Obamanation. Hillary remains focused on what she does best – fight for the best outcome for America and ordinary citizens.

You would need to see the actual land survey and registration documents before you could be sure of that. Things were not always so stringent in the past. If you go back into therealbarackobama.com archives re rezkowatch, you will find this information already collected.

I live in Chicago and have often wondered at the value of that side lot (after the sale of the 10ft strip to the Obamas).

Look at the photo in this article. I wonder why the land is valued so high because I don’t think one could build a large house on the remaining lot. I wish I knew how to find both the width of the Rezko property and zoning laws for what size building could be built there.

    I hear you.
It took a while for me to realize that there is a BIG difference between

    Education and intelligence.

There are many people with advanced degrees that cant think themselves out of a box and there are many “Joe The Plumbers” who may not have attended college however they possess great intelligence.

  • jbjd

No; the U.S. Supreme Court (judicial branch) merely defined that under HAVA, the Help America Vote Act passed by Congress (legislative branch) and signed by the President (executive branch), individuals like the RNC lack standing to bring a legal action to compel state compliance.

Some months ago, I looked for evidence of the actual date the land was sub-divided but did not find this. Can you provide a link?

  • d2d

i read this awhile ago but it is located in an area that if Chicago wins their bid to host the Olympics, don’t recall the year, it may be condemned and razed to accommodate the building of a new stadium of some sort. lots of money could be made, eh?

keep trying to post this earlier comment but having network issues.

Kal, you nailed it as far as I’m concerned. It’s all about the Olympics being held at some future date in Chicago.

The Soetoro’s never had any intention of keeping and preserving that home for historical purposes. Nope. It’s all about the money they could make on the sale of the home IF Chicago was awarded the Olympic games.

  • SJ

Does it really matter what is uncovered about Obama now? The American public seems to be in a state of denial no matter what they are told they come back with an answer that its either wrong, someone does not like Obama because he is black and a heap of nonsense.

I am just going to sit back and watch the show, we are drowning in talk about the economy over and over as if this is the only issue in this election while Russia is feeding Venezuela with military power into the Caribbean, Chavez is going to become the military might of that region with all that natural gas and oil.

Russia is making a bid for the arctic, and Iran and Korea is working on their nuclear might, while Israel is having to protect its boarder and keep on guard daily, we also have another nut staging his own million man march this weekend in Iraq, yet all we talk about is the economy.

I can list a number of other things that seems to have been pushed aside to ensure the focus is on the economy which some feel is a winning point for Obama, well these other issue are of great importance and ones which Obama if he becomes President cannot deal with, so once again out country will be at risk and may well find us going into another war.

You can provide the facts to her, that BO was not a member of the U.S. Senate at the time of the use of force resolution. This will dislodge the smug-certainty-of-her-position block. As for comparing or contrasting Governor Palin’s experience with BO’s… too subjective to sway a disciple.

I have found that, when trying to get a disciple to hear me, what works best is to mention an indisputable fact I know the MSM had withheld. Here are just two examples: 1) the document BO posted on his web site is not a birth certificate but a certification of live birth; and 2) BO and Bill Ayers both attend Columbia in NY at the same time.

Of course, your colleague could be like my colleague who, when I mentioned BO might not be constitutionally eligible for POTUS, replied, ‘But I don’t care about that, I care about…’

Well, then she might ought to really consider a good old-fashioned distancing move after the election is over.

The Democrats are on the wrong side this year of several key issues, energy being the biggest.

So we’ll see. I know this. I always read her opinion pieces. They are often quite cogent, and I gain knowledge.

That’s a nice change from the usual Washington drivel from the likes of Barney Franks, Lewis, and that nitwit, Pelosi.

  • jbjd

He admitted to the Chicago Tribune in 2006 that he overpaid the Rezko’s for the lot; he said it was “only fair.” And the press ate it up. They did not even snicker at his stupidity. And now their editorial board has endorsed him for President.

The fact that most colleges are full of professors who worship Marx should tell you everything.

It’s quite possible to become academically successful by simply learning the correct things to say by rote. It does not matter if those things are logically flawed or woefully naive – all that matters is that you know enough to ingratiate yourself within the world of academia, which is full of people who have also learned the “correct” things by rote.

If you read enough of the right academic books, you pick up the lingo, the word flow and enough of the basic line of reasoning to sound like an academic yourself. It doesn’t mean that you have an objective sense of value judgment or the life experience required to come to logical conclusions with a proper consideration of everything in the right context. Such a trait is called “wisdom” and is not a requirement of academic success.

The thing about Marxist professors is that they exist in an insular bubble in which their views are rarely challenged – and if they are (for instance if a student raises their hand), they have the power to silence all dissent.

Yet when confronted with the opposing view outside of their academic bubble, they quickly become agitated and often aggressive and angry when they realize that their arguments are easily refuted. The less education their refuter has, the angrier they become.

My father (a mechanic) once told me about a student party he went to in the 70′s which was full of Marxists. He was a fan of Ayn Rand and knew enough about economics and philosophy to make a fool of these uppity kids with a “proper education.” He humiliated them to such an extent that they took him outside and beat him up. My father’s been a fierce critic of the socialist left and academia ever since.

How about Obama purchased the home 1,650,000 the same price the seller paid for this home in 2000 this is impossible in the hottest real estate market in the country at time. (the historic district in Chicago saw no increase in value in 5 years no way) you can confirm this on http://www.zillow.com

The lot was increased to appease the seller asking price which is a gift to Obama which is illegal

  • wry

The lot was zoned to be sold separately, but the sellers wanted to sell both together. The Obamas could not afford both. The tricky thing occurred when the Rezkos sold a ten foot swath back to Barky, making the remaining parcel decidedly less desirable, AND greatly improving the value of Barkys lot.

  • wry

    It has a whine cellar.

  • wry

Please my fellow PUMAS. Lets let the dust settle then reexamine our feelings toward Hillary Clinton. She showed tremendous strength in this campaign. It kills me that she is working for Barky but we don’t know the whole story. Barky is edging ahead of McCain in Ohio and Pa because of Hillary and Bill and the tanking economy…no other reason.
As rich as the Clintons w\are, I wish they’d have told Barky to go to Hell. Bill would’ve still gotten speaking gigs, and John McCain would’ve given Hillary the UN job or an Ambassadorship or something.
    Oh, now I’m dreaming…
But please, lets refrain from criticizing Hillary. She’s the one who brought most of us together here.

  • mimi

    bemused,

Thank you for saving me the trouble. MO want this house for a long time. That’s why they’re in this predicament.

  • ritamary

Elliot, you are correct. This lot was the side yard of the house. Michelle Obama was on the Chicago commission that supervised historic architecture preservation at the time they purchased the house. They needed permission from the commission to separate the side yard from the house.

Why doesn’t anyone pay any attention to Michelle Obama’s political connections? I remember how Hillary Clinton’s past was raked over with a fine tooth comb when she was First Lady, and Teresa Heinz Kerry was also subject to the same treatment. The media told us how much we were going to dislike Mrs. Kerry. I actually like her much more than I like her husband.

  • mimi

What I hate is the hypocrisy. After belaboring the 7 houses of McCain, this just plain looks bad.

If people are all fed up with Republicans for the reason that they are out of touch and privileged, how do the 0bamas justify this in such a very public way?

It’s worse than tacky. It’s them thumbing their noses in our faces.

Well not my face. I know they’re slimy, lying hypocrites.

This is who the 0bamas are. They are self-centered, self-serving, cheaters who care nothing about anyone except themselves. 0bama is getting back at white America by striving for the highest office of the land so he can lord over everyone. And not just white people, he wants to lord over AAs and everyone else. He thinks he’s better than everyone.

These people do not give to charity, do no charity work and you have NEVER heard either of them make one charitable, caring, compassionate remark. Neither 0bama has even visited or spent time with our disabled Iraqi vets.

What has depressed me more than anything is the commentary that 0bama’s candidacy has made on modern American society. We are living among the shallow. The blind are now leading the stupid.

I will NEVER forgive or forget what the Democratic Party has foisted on us. The days of me voting straight down are over!

    Truthteller,
Great story and concise follow-up. It has been my pleasure the last couple of days to know that RezkoWatch (now Therealbarackobama) was interested in this side of the story from the very, very start.
I have been prattling on about the damned appraiser since this house scam first became public after Rezko’s arrest. RezkoWatch actually listened to me. Now we get to see this unfold some more.
Now it is too late for the appraiser because he was slow to sing. First guy to hit the high note gets to walk and in this case, its the guy upstairs of the appraiser who was given the order to grease this one up and slip it through. He knew it was kited and also knew that its 3 to 5 for Each Count!
If you do the thing and its part of an ongoing criminal collaboration, it wins the big prize called RICO!
    Whoohoo!

  • Mar

The area that would go to make up the Olympic village would be the site of the recently closed Michael Reese Hospital which is north of the Hyde Park neighborhood in which this house is located.

I do think that the house reflects the pretensions of the Obamas.

  • ConcernedCitizenX

How strange. Please tell me if someone else has figured out this quite interesting possibility (and one which I think may be close to the truth): The land deal went down like this — the same owner sells Obama a lot for $300K less than asking price on the same day that Rita Rezko buys an adjacent lot for full price at $625K, which according to the whistle-blower who did the original appraisal is $125K over the actual full value of the property. It seems quite apparent to me that this was a backdoor way of giving Obama a BRIBE. Rezko made an arrangement with the seller to give Obama a 300K break on one property by agreeing to buy the other property for $125K more than it’s actual value. If you consider the high values of the properties involved, and consider that a normal buyer of each property would have negotiated a purchase price LOWER than the asking price, but not as much lower as Barack got, then what you see is that Rezko PAID BACK the owner of the properties for giving Obama a break on his lot by OVERPAYING for the other lot. So Rezko used a clever device to, in essence, give Obama an approximately $300K BRIBE in the form of an artificially cheap house. That’s why both deals went down on the same day, otherwise how could the seller be sure Rezko would make good on the arrangement? Make sense to anyone? Has anyone else noticed this?

What is it going to take for the media to stop protecting this man. They are afraid to stop him because if he doesn’t win the networks are afraid of what may happen to their stations and networks. The only one who will come out of this ok is FOX.
The Obots seem to be going a little nuts again.

  • Alice Paul

If Obama goes to the White House his time there will be worse than what Nixon did to this country. Far worse, and yes heads need to roll in the media for not telling the truth to the American public. There is more truth in Saturday morning cartoons than in our so called “news”

  • Vidsweet

Thanks for posting this Developing News! (Hehe, pun intended).

Think Obama had an inkling of this lawsuit? Probably, because timing is everything in politics, and now I know why Powell was rolled out this weekend. The HillBuzzers were right–Obama does have a pattern of either trying to blunt oncoming bad revelations, or to counter really great McCain momentum.

Haha, I really don’t know why people still insisted on voting for him. One shading thing is questionable, but common, eventually one’s got to lose credibility when there’s so many shady associations. Teflon Man indeed! Dangerous for America. Homeowners, why does Obama pretend to care about your plight–do you have high connections that gets you shady land deals too? Har har har. Classic, yes, subpoena Obama. An arrest is too much to ask for, but the poster above was right–maybe all the cult members (media) will jump off a cliff, AS LEMMINGS DO.

  • jimbob

Yeah so where is it? Where’s the indictment from Patrick Fitzgerald, Democrat US attorney in Chicago? You people at noquarter were perty much sayin’ it was guaranteed. So where is it? The Obots are gettin’ out the vote early here in Florida, so even if the Obamessiah is indicted before the election, it will be too late: he’s going to be the first President-elect in US history to be indicted. But what the hell does he care? He can fire Fitzgerald and pardon himself. So there you have it: AMERICA ENDED FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES IN OCTOBER 2008 BECAUSE A DEMOCRAT WOULDN’T SERVE JUSTICE ON ANOTHER DEMOCRAT. There’s your headline. It’s a wrap. I’m outta here.

Mutual Bank CEO Amrish Mahajan is connected with corrupt Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Read this about Mahajan and his wife giving Mrs. Blagojevich real estate deals:

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/services/newspaper/printedition/friday/chi-patti-feds07dec07,0,1600720.story?page=2

Here’s an earlier version of the story:

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-0610270192oct27,0,6744388.story

The two banks Obama and Blagojevich are close with, Mahajan’s Mutual Bank and Giannoulias’ Broadway Bank, are utterly corrupt and have been for years. Obama backed Giannoulias for Illinois Treasurer despite his mob connections.

Obama used Mutual Bank because it was known for making deals for politicians.
