The Blame Game

That’s pretty much what Joe Biden did on The Ellen Show recently. Essentially, he AND Ellen laid the blame for all of the negative campaigning squarely on John McCain, as if Obama was running the most positive, loving campaign ever.

Hell, Obama ran a very negative campaign against HILLARY (remember those “Harry and Louise” ads? NAFTA ads?). The issue seems to be “robo-calls” connecting Obama to – wait for it – AYERS!!! How DARE the McCain campaign say something that is TRUE about Obama’s history??

Yet, both Biden and Degeneres act as if JOHN MCCAIN, and McCain alone, has changed his entire character. Mr. Hope-y Change-y Unicorn is spreading sweetness and light wherever he goes, apparently, and John McCain has completely morphed into Darth Vader or something. Take a look:

Yeah, okay. I guess he didn’t hear Obama claim that supporters at a Palin rally yelled, “Kill him!”, a claim debunked by none other than the Secret Service. I don’t know about you, but with Obama’s problems with “truthiness,” I’ll take the Secret Service’s word over Obama. I guess Biden hasn’t watched any of Obama’s ads. Or seen the tee shirts worn by the Obama supporters, beginning with the “Bros Before Hos” and escalating to the vulgar Sarah Palin tee shirts. Or his supporters who call a 12 year old girl a racist for wearing a Palin tee shirt. Or the man who had his 2006 Lexus LS 430 scratched with “KKK” on it, and American flag burned on it, and some other damage done to it (just so you know, this model, new, cost close to $70,000. That’s a mighty expensive piece of property to “vandalize.”). Oh, what prompted this attack? The man had the audacity to have a McCain/Palin sticker on it. How DARE he?!? Apparently, that is what the thugs who trashed his car seemed to think, anyway.

Oh wait – here is one that is McCain specific! Yes – one of McCain’s offices, right here in South Cackalacki, was defaced in York County with the claim that “Republican means Slavery.” Well, hell, Biden himself has engaged in race baiting as a manipulative ploy.

But McCain has changed? Are we to infer, then, that Obama has always been an arrogant misogynist and liar whose supporters can act anyway they see fit without fear of repercussion? So it would seem, anyway.

Oh, but it gets better. Here is the second part of the interview:

Did you notice the glaring omission here by Biden when Degeneres asked about Proposition 8? When he said he would vote against it and all of that? Well, here’s a little reminder:

Despite appearances to the contrary, OBAMA DOES NOT SUPPORT SAME SEX MARRIAGE! It was disingenuous at best to frame it the way BOTH of them did. Degeneres asked about an initiative on which Biden would NOT be voting, so he could say whatever he damn well PLEASED, but did NOT ask him where the Obama Camp stands on same sex marriage. I expected better from Degeneres, at least, because she certainly DID ask John McCain about it.

Anyway – this whole thing of painting McCain as being incredibly negative for looking into Obama’s history, and denying the 18 months worth of negative campaigning from the Obama camp, is absurd. I know some of it is just plain politics, but some – a LOT – is how it is reported (or not) in the MSM. Even when reports come out proving Obama is more negative in his campaigning, the MSM turn it around on McCain, and talk CONSTANTLY about his “anger” problem. Wow. So this is the new spin, just to keep you updated – McCain has totally changed his entire character, and Obama is merely trying to do what is best for the country. Got it? You must ignore all facts and evidence to the contrary, and simply accept that Obama will bring a kinder, gentler Administration to the White House. Yeah, right. A little “truthiness” wouldn’t hurt right about now from the Obama camp – oh, wait – that’s right. Joe Biden DID actually speak a little ‘truthiness,” much to The One’s dismay – claiming that Obama will be tested, and tested early by international factions. Oh, goody – that’s JUST what the country needs in the midst of economic hardship – “testing.” Well, thanks, Joe, for finally telling the truth about SOMETHING in this campaign. I reckon there’s a first time for everything! I take that back – you also acknowledged that Hillary Clinton would be a better VP than you, and was definitely qualified to be President, unlike your running mate, so there was that – have to give credit where credit is due! Ahem. Now, if you will only start telling the truth about your race-baiting, and character assassination of John McCain, we’ll be in business…

NPR has been doing the same kind of thing – yesterday they kept running a canned report on how McCain’s campaign was so dishonest and then they followed up with a piece suggesting how pure and on the money Obama’s campaign was. This “objective” news source cannot even fathom the depth of their own bias! Or can they?

  • benny

This is sad. I always liked Biden. Hes like ones favourite crazy eccentric uncle. But this is getting ridiculous. He wants to be V.P, whatever the cost. He is unsteady (something obama accuses mccain of).

  • WestPalm2008

What I cannot believe is that there are still Obama supporters who run around talking about how Obama is going to “heal” the country, end the “division” and bring us all together.

They are all DELUSIONAL. This country is now AS or MORE divided than it was in 2004, and it is ALL because of Obama and the media furstrating the hell out of his detractors by failing to investigate, and aiding in the SMEARING of anyone who does not support the Big 0.

HILLARY was supposed to be the “divisive” one, and Obamabots do not understand that a full 50% of the country DOES NOT SUPPORT HIM…. a large percentage of THAT DOES NOT RESPECT HIM and/or think he’s dangerous and slick.

Yeah, Obama’s going to heal the world my @ss.

Ellen, get with the damn program. Obamabots, Plastic Jesus is only YOUR savior, not mine, not America’s. Deal with it.

(Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania ” 10/21/08) – Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. This makes me vey sad indeed. John McCain, by compariosn, has run such an honorable campaign. There is so much real dirt out there about Obama — and this man is thoroughly unqualified to boot. There is so much that McCain requested NOT be used.

I mean both sides use attack ads, but Obama has been proven to be FAR more guilty of this than McCain. I really feel like I am living in an alternate universe. Obama is one of the mose divisive, secretive and dishonest politicians to come down the pike in a long time and this saint act of his got tired a long time ago.

The fact that Ellen is willing to play this game makes me sick. She was a huge Hillary supporter and knows damned good and well what happened out there this year. And if she doesn’t, she needs a good does of wake up and smell the coffee, too.

Biden should be ashamed of himself. Period.

  • lark

One thing is the blame game and another the blame game that Obama is playing. Using his technique or deriding and mocking (which he accuses McCain of doing) first and then contrasting by misrepresenting his position, Obama is insinuating that McCain is unfair to minorities and the poor and wants to reward the rich. The insinuation Obama is driving into his crowds and listeners is that McCain is purposely race baiting and committed to sinking the poor in despair.

The results of that is that he is intentionally provoking the crowds of listeners to respond to his misrepresentations of McCain’s position by using intimidation and also violence as a last resort to counter punch if McCain wins the election.

So blame game is one thing but blame game with a drive towards acting frustrations out on others is another. And like I said in the previous thread he will then use McCain’s words to justify their Obots resort to violence and physical attacks against others.

So Obama goes beyond the blame game. His ‘chaos’ creation strategy has as ultimate goal to ensue riots if he is not elected. At least that’s how I see it.

  • Leisa

    I agree Ani,

The truth that McCain states in his attack ads are called lies… the dishonesty of the press astounds me.

I was shocked by my local, in the tank for Obama, paper today… on the front page review of both candidates they said that Obama would govern more like Bush! The rest of the article tries to make that a good thing, but hey, glimmers of truth are popping up.

“attempt to associate Barack Obama with terrorism”

    - well, he is associated with terrorists.

    This is a fact.

It’s not a smear if it’s the truth.

And it’s amazing how Obama’s campaign is beyond negative, but for some reason, many people don’t see it. They act like he is so honorable and he isn’t.

Also, correct me if I’m wrong:

During the VP debate, I could have sworn Biden said that the Obama/Biden campaign doesn’t support gay marriage?

These celebrities support Obama non-stop, but if I was a celebrity, I would be concerned. He wants to redistribute their wealth, he supports FISA and most celebrities value their privacy.

  • Leisa

So Obama goes beyond the blame game. His ‘chaos’ creation strategy has as ultimate goal to ensue riots if he is not elected. At least that’s how I see it.

That must be a genetic trait…

  • JoseyJ

Obama and his surrogates have consistently engaged in pulling the Race Card and Outrage Card.
Any little teenie weenie Truth-telling about Obama is met with tons of FAUX OUTRAGE!
Obamabots are the new Bushies – only worse.

  • Thinker

Obamabots do not understand that a full 50% of the country DOES NOT SUPPORT HIM

    - This is very true.

This is what many Obama supporters don’t seem to understand.

The whole country does NOT support Obama.

But they are duped into believing otherwise as a result of biased polls and a biased media.

That zombie link was an eye-opener.

  • lark

The problem with celebrities is that they gain when the spot light shines on them, either negatively or positively. Either way they get publicized and by effect they get more work.

Celebrities gain from the Democratic party platform if that platform works one way or the other. It doesn’t matter. And economic give away and incentives always work to increase sales of entertainment products. Always.

Celebrities and the Democratic agenda synchronizes to perfection.

  • Indyvoter

There’s never been a presidential candidate in my lifetime that scares me like this one.

It’s as if the media outlets (except Fox) are frozen and can’t question the first AA candidate from a major party. They give him a pass on everything – experience, background, patriotism, education, associates, citizenship issues.

It’s sad, it’s weak, it’s defeatist. They deserve no respect.

We can only pray that McCain somehow pulls this out. The media wimps are spineless, worthless chumps.

  • tillthen

Ellen is turning me into a homophobe…and I’m gay.

  • Tony

It’s always reported in the media that the Republicans are more negative and nasty. To me, it seems that both sides can get equally nasty, especially when they are down.

However if Republicans are truly nastier this election I think it’s because the media hasn’t done its job looking into Obama’s background. And this election, it seems that the media has ‘fact checked’ McCain with unprecidented Zeal. (many of these fact checks are really just degrees of opinion)

But I still don’t see it. I don’t think McCain has been nasty enough. He has several easy lines of attack that he refuses to touch, i.e. Wright.

  • csuzeq

That is what Narcissists do. Deny and distract. Turn it around on you.

  • McHope

    LOL

I guess slandering Joe the Plumber and Obama’s and Biden’s mocking of him to the sound of derisive laughter is an example of the unity ticket at it’s best, right?
Somehow the Ellens and Tina Feys of the world are deluding themselves when they see this man ridicule Americans, but honestly believe he won’t do it to them.
He makes no effort and has shown no capacity to defend any American interest, person, or value.

  • csuzeq

Yep. Don’t question the one. I call him the don’t ask, don’t tell candidate. don’t ask him a question, he’s not about to tell you the truth anyway.

If we are not permitted to question him now and no one is willing to hold him accountable for his actions now, what would happen if he were POTUS? Of course, the same thing. I think we’ve already had that in GW. I think I’ll pass on someone getting a free pass the next 8 years, but thanks for the offer!

I”m still trying to figure out how obama hanging out with people like aryes is a non issue. these people have lost their minds. People want us to take a risk on a person that repeatedly show he has poor judgement and to place him in a judgement position? And if we point out that bad judgement you are being mean spirited. Look honestly i don’t care about Ayers or Wright, or even Farrakhan. but i do worry about is barack eating dinner with running his mouth to people who have ties to hamos and other terrorist. Why? Cause when barack was cutting fat those people were sizing him up. The only reason all of these foreign leaders want him as president is either one or two things 1. he’s a part of it. or 2 when he was running his mouth they sized him up and have passed on the information to their friends. that’s why he has poor judgement. does this moron not know that ever time you talk, you tell people something about yourself.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

I agree, Ani, as Larry’s piece above this one demonstrates. McCain has NOT engaged in the kind of politics he easily could have used, like the infamous “Whitey” tape. He has said that Rev. Wright was off-limits, and has stuck to that (though since John Lewis called McCain and all of his supporters a pack of racists, his camp may reconsider). And what has he gotten for it? The charge that he is more negative than Obama, and has a bad temper. Wow. Astonishing.

And heck yeah, Ellen should know better. But HOW MANY people, GLBT and women, are supporting Obama despite his lack of support for them with his homophobic associates, and flat out misogyny? Boggles the mind.

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=tristkiss trist

I just want to add this is what ticked me off about Powell’s endorsement, he can back anyone he wants to, but to listen to him, you’d think that McCain was this monster and Obama a heavenly saint who has never so much as hurt a fly in his entire life. And was just a victim of McCain and Palin’s vicious assaults…Poor baby.

I thought Powell was more or less a fair-minded person. And maybe he was BEFORE Obama came along.

Any respect I had left for him is gone now.

  • IndieDogg

WARNING: If you don’t want to watch this, don’t. But, it’s very Straight Talk from a very well informed AA McCain/Palin backer. If I were an Obama supporter (yes, we know you’re over there, hiding behind that Bush — oh, wait, I meant to use lower case ‘b’ there — or did I), I definitely wouldn’t watch it because you’re getting called out and you might spill your kool-aid into your caviar:

This is on Sugar ‘n Spice (thank goodness for both, in life and on the web):

The guy who does these videos is awesome and debunks the lie the MSM is putting out there that 95% of AAs are voting for Obama.

  • JozefAL

I think you’ve hit on Obama’s REAL reason for choosing Biden: Obama needed a NEW “crazy uncle” since he dumped “Uncle” Jeremiah several months ago.

  • hedy

I don’t need to watch the tape because Biden should think back at all the things that he said about Obama when he was running against him. Instead of asking if he was for same sex marraige she should have asked if he was the one who said that Obama was not ready to be President.

  • fif

Biden is a good running mate for Obama, because he, too, is a bold-faced liar. What are the stats for how much Obama has spent on negative ads vs. McCain? It’s grossly disproportionate. This has to come out in clear stats. I’m tired of this hypocrisy.

  • lisa in va

Any rioting that happens, irregardless of the outcome of the election, is the sole responsibility of the media. By not fairly and accurately reporting what is going on, they have led obomites to believe that anyone against Obama is racist and anyone supporting McCain is racist and evil.

I just watched part of this tape with Ellen and she is completely dillusional.

We really need a national boycot week of the media-television and online news sources. Even if only half of America participates, it will be enough to get the attention of advertisers.

And frankly, advertisers should start their own boycott of the media. Follow the money. The media would not have the power it does if their anchors and directors and reporters weren’t getting paid.

  • PhxNickD

What do you expect from her? It will be interesting to see what percentage of G&L voters will cast a ballot for McCain this year. In 2004, 26% of the community voted for Bush.

  • IndayHill

Biden is a hypocrite just like his boss, Obama.Didn’t he say during the primary that his opponent, Obama, is not fitted to be POTUS ? It will be a job-training for Obama, which is a sign of weakness. And now, he is “licking” the footsteps of Obama, for choosing him his VP, & everyword he said turned rosy.I lost my respect to Biden.
Birds of the same feather, flock together.

This accusation has been used repeatedly by Obama, even though the independent sources prove that he, in fact, has run a completely negative campaign.

It’s because he’s an AA guy.

    They are “picking on him.”
