Palin Draws Record Crowd of 22,000; Protestors Assault Her Caravan, Police

Here’s the news you won’t hear on MSNBC et al. Local Colorado station KREX has the story, with video:
With just 15 days to go until Election Day, there was a record breaking crowd at Suplizio. According to Mesa County Republicans the rally drew 22,000 people making it the biggest in Grand Junction’s history. The speech was only about 15 minutes, but it touched on a variety of issues from energy independence to the economy.
Redstate.com adds wry perspective in “And Sarah Palin Breaks Another Record“:
22,000 people attended a rally in little Grand Junction, Colorado. It’s kind of like an Obama rally except that Sarah gets no media support; Sarah is only the vice presidential candidate; Sarah supporters actually have jobs and families; and Sarah supporters are not zombies. Of course, the MSM will ignore her tremendous support on Main Street, while democratic operatives tremble in their Birkenstock sandals.
I’m not even sure if Peggy Noonan is going to sell 22,000 copies of her new book. …
Read the rest of the hilarious put-down of Peggy Noonan’s “media whore routine.” Ouch. Back to the main attraction. Sarah was a huge hit! Then this happened:
A group called “Red Pill” instigated this all-out melee with police in Grand Junction, Colorado, as Gov. Palin’s motorcade drove by. For those like me who don’t know — no, I’ve never seen “Matrix” and have no plans to since I’m not into movies like that — I looked up “Red Pill.” I couldn’t find the group’s Web site, but read Wikipedia’s entry:
The term redpill was popularized in science fiction culture via the 1999 movie The Matrix. The movie relies on the premise that an artificial reality that is advanced enough will be indistuingishable from reality, and thus reality is relative and both existent and non-existent at the same time. In the movie, a Redpill is the term used to describe a human who has been freed from the Matrix, a fictional computer-generated world set in 1999. Bluepill refers to a human still connected to the Matrix. [...]
According to Morpheus, leaving the Matrix can be traumatic particularly to those who have lived in it for too long. As a rule, crews only offer the red pill to those younger than 18. [GOOD! They can't vote!] After that, the risk of denial and psychotic episodes from the reality of separation is much higher. [Clearly so!]
Here’s CNN’s description of the ugly episode:
[...]
Eight to 10 protesters broke away from a larger group of demonstrators and darted into the street in front of Palin’s car just after the first police motorcycles in her motorcade had passed, said Acting Chief Troy Smith of the Grand Junction Police Department.
Wearing bandanas and with their faces covered, the protesters blocked the path and held up a large banner. Officers stopped their motorcycles, grabbed the protesters and dragged several out of the path of the oncoming motorcade.
At least two demonstrators were tackled and forced to the ground before being pulled away. One officer fell backwards into the path of an approaching vehicle but he was able to get out of the way in time.
[...]
Smith said officers saved the protesters from injury because “the motorcade likely would not have stopped” for them. He said “we don’t know what their intentions were” in trying to block Palin’s motorcade.
Investigators in Grand Junction are reviewing videotapes to try to identify suspects in an “active criminal investigation,” Smith said. The Secret Service is not involved in the investigation, he said.
The protesters were members of a group called “Red Pill,” Smith said.
A Web site that carried an announcement of the group’s planned protest urged supporters to show Palin “that we as a community say no to war, no to corporate cronyism, and no to four more years of Bush-style leadership.” It encouraged people to bring “drums, noise makers, and your strength.”
I wish CNN had reported that the protestors were shouting at the motorcade. I can’t hear what they’re saying.
Meanwhile, Sarah and John soldier on. They’re attracting huge, enthused crowds while the Obamedia is already anointing “The One.”
Just who has the true grasp on reality this month?
The “Red Pills” or the true-blue American people?
You know those people. You likely are one. You, who don’t fall for false promises and NO record of achievement except winning elections, not to mention an actual record of dismal failures at the few enterprises he undertook, except making money off writing about himself.
