Much Ado About Nothing…

The Obama news media was all a’twitter over the cost of Governor Palin’s hair styling and make-up today, the obvious follow-on to their critique of her wardrobe that was preceded by pictures of her ankles and high-heels. I’m sure this all makes great fodder for their reporting but even as a guy, I find this unremarkable on many points. But then again, the Obama media are as determined to avoid any serious reporting as they are to determed to avoid any credible reference into reality.
- My haircut costs me only $8-15 but even the simplest trim for my wife is around $50; and the rest of the costs can total in the hundreds. My old attitude is simply let the hair hang natural, looks better, but go figure, women spend a lot…
- Next, the cost for this consultant includes travel and per diem expenses as they are along with the campaign. That is not cheap. Even if she donated all of her time, this would still add up and it is simply unrealistic that they find someone at each location, else depend on local media outlet’s makeup folks.
- And same with the clothes. I can wear the same shirt and pants day-after-day; even buying several of the same to rotate with laundry and absolutely no one notices. BUT, if a woman were to show up twice in a row wearing the same outfit, it’d be scandalous. Different standards.
- I really think this is all much ado about nothing. Those complaining haven’t thought it through, simply looking for a quick headline.
- And talking about headlines, what about the extra costs for those Greek columns in Denver? Or, the nearly million dollars for ACORN voter fraud?
SusanUnPC comments a bit sarcastically that “All she needs is a bit of eye shadow and mascara, a bit of contouring (for the cameras), and some fucking lipstick and rouge! Jesus! She could do that herself! She’s gorgeous without makeup, I bet. Maybe she should appear for the next two days with NO makeup!”
Yeah, Susan, I’ll try that one with my wife next time we’re heading out for the evening. I bet that’d be received well.
