Much Ado About Nothing…

The Obama news media was all a’twitter over the cost of Governor Palin’s hair styling and make-up today, the obvious follow-on to their critique of her wardrobe that was preceded by pictures of her ankles and high-heels. I’m sure this all makes great fodder for their reporting but even as a guy, I find this unremarkable on many points. But then again, the Obama media are as determined to avoid any serious reporting as they are to determed to avoid any credible reference into reality.

  • My haircut costs me only $8-15 but even the simplest trim for my wife is around $50; and the rest of the costs can total in the hundreds. My old attitude is simply let the hair hang natural, looks better, but go figure, women spend a lot…
  • Next, the cost for this consultant includes travel and per diem expenses as they are along with the campaign. That is not cheap. Even if she donated all of her time, this would still add up and it is simply unrealistic that they find someone at each location, else depend on local media outlet’s makeup folks.

  • And same with the clothes. I can wear the same shirt and pants day-after-day; even buying several of the same to rotate with laundry and absolutely no one notices. BUT, if a woman were to show up twice in a row wearing the same outfit, it’d be scandalous. Different standards.
  • I really think this is all much ado about nothing. Those complaining haven’t thought it through, simply looking for a quick headline.
  • And talking about headlines, what about the extra costs for those Greek columns in Denver? Or, the nearly million dollars for ACORN voter fraud?

SusanUnPC comments a bit sarcastically that “All she needs is a bit of eye shadow and mascara, a bit of contouring (for the cameras), and some fucking lipstick and rouge! Jesus! She could do that herself! She’s gorgeous without makeup, I bet. Maybe she should appear for the next two days with NO makeup!”

Yeah, Susan, I’ll try that one with my wife next time we’re heading out for the evening. I bet that’d be received well.

  • Just_Saying

Double standards for women and for men.

With the Obama team, double standards for Obama and for anyone else. Such a big to-do over clothing, yet still no explanation for all the BO mysteries —
birth certificate, school records, missing years, etc., etc., etc.

If only the mainstream media wasn’t in the tank and reported everything to the general public, and if we had a fair election. If only…

  • http://www1.pacific.edu/~h-cai/home/indx.html Jennifer

Hey guys, I’ve compiled a list of issues based on McCain’s latest stump speeches to hit Obama on in the last few days before the election. I put the list on my college web page:

    http://www1.pacific.edu/~h-cai/home/indx.html

Print it out, forward it to your friends, do everything you can to spread it before November 4th. We need every vote we can get.

  • timeforarealitycheck

The scandal is that noone looke at what Sen. Obama, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden or his wife spent to compare or contrast.

Barack Obama spent about 150million dollars in 2 weeks.

Oh, and he took a PERSONAL trip using CAMPAIGN PLANE and CAMPAIGN FUNDS.

How can anyone believe anything the media says anymore. They are irrelevant.

  • Murray

THANK YOU, THANK YOU MR. WEAVER.
Why on earth is there no word uttered about the astronomical amount it must cost to make Michelle look good.
She jets around, got a makeover for the convention, and the kids looked FABULOU$$$$$$$$$.

  • fif

Can you believe we are even discussing this? I heard today (because I boycott it) that the NY Times had a piece on the FRONT PAGE about Palin’s wardrobe. This man has a string of extremely radical associations, questionable fundraising accountability, Biden’s gaffes, constant lying about his own and his opponent’s positions and records, and we have days and days of coverage re: Palin’s wardrobe and grooming habits? The NY Times?! If it weren’t so completely surreal and dangerous, it would be laughable.

  • FembotsForObama

I can’t believe that we are even discussing Sarah’s cosmetic/wardrobe expenses. Liberals should be just as outraged. Remember John Edwards’ $400 haircuts? How much money was spent on Hillary’s redos? I’m sure Barack’s suits aren’t cheap, and Biden obviously has had to spend thousands on Botox (which he’d need to update every 4-6 months) and teeth whitening.

Is this seriously what this election has brought us to?

  • fif

LOL! Fembots, we were posting the same thing at the same time. Yes, it IS utterly ridiculous. And their anger abou the “associations” argument is that it is just a “distraction” from more important issues. Puhleaaze.

  • wodiej

I think they are doing two things. One, distract from the real issue of Biden’s statement about an international crisis and Obama’s about spreading the wealth. And they are trying diminish Palin’s importance by trying to get people to focus on her clothes and looks thus distracting them from her qualifications.

  • KxT

The MSM is more concern about the cost of Sarah Palin LCothing. I wonder what was the cost of Bill Ayers and his terrorists buddies damange to the Pentagon, infrastructure and human life.

And next they can investigate Obama huge website money laundering fradulent donations.

  • ritamary

How much did Biden’s hair plugs cost? Just asking…

  • http://www1.pacific.edu/~h-cai/home/indx.html Jennifer

Ooops, can a MOD DELETE MY POST, the link was incorrect and doesn’t work. Sorry. I will get the correct link up soon.

  • http://home.comcast.net/~vincep312 VinceP1974

The whole fucking world is on fire and these morons are focused on her clothes.

I was there was a parallel universe where I can watch them all get beheaded by Islamists with rusty bottle caps.

  • ritamary

While we are talking about money, why won’t Barack and Michelle talk about why they needed Tony Rezko’s help to buy their mansion in Kenwood? Why didn’t they just buy a cheaper house that they could afford without taking help from a guy everyone knew was being investigated by the feds and now is a convicted felon?

  • Marilyn

Hillary Clinton’s pantsuits cost $6000 each according to what I heard on the radio today. I’m surprised MSM didn’t make a big issue about that during the primaries.

Well, I think George Clooney should be concerned about Michelle’s big appetite! I noticed the “downstream” media didn’t say a peep about her $457 afternoon “snack” of lobster canapes, 2 lobsters, Iranian cavier and bottle of wine or whatever it was. That would have fed a hundred Durfar refugees for days!

We’d SAVE money if Cindy McCain became first lady – she’ doesn’t look like she eats at all – MO will eat us out of the white house!

  • workingclass artist

Murray…you should check out that link I posted too…chuckle…

  • morganjane

I am sure the RNC wouldn’t let her go to a super cuts anyway?! If they did or let her dress how her income allows the media would say “look, here is our proof that she is small potatoes”. This is all silly b/c we all know in the professional world you must dress the part. My sister pays way more for clothes than I do but it is not because she makes alot more money… it is because she has to look the part for her job, plus must have her clothes hold up to travel, and dry cleaning services. My husband has to look great at work too and you can’t buy a variety of nice clothes that will last very long at walmart.
Hillary actually did wear the same thing twice. I saw her in Lexington KY and Louisville Ky the next day… I think it was the same brown pantsuit but with a different necklace. Hillary rewore the pantsuits and I am sure Palin does wear things more than once. Besides Hillary got so much slack for everything about her looks. The RNC was trying to avoid it (that’s smart). Bottom line, What would you wear to an interview for VP to the POTUS?

  • workingclass artist

I’ll bet they weren’t really Maine Lobsters either…chuckle…But she was charged the Maine Price….Kinda like chargin Greek Temple Prices for Styrofoam…Hotwire and Glue…lol…Real Artistry there…

  • morganjane

    very funny!

  • Mark

The birth certificate issue will be taken care of soon. That’s why he’s in HI. Idiots.

  • cackicoo

i think all this is rather silly anyway. i wear what ever i want dont you? i wear the same damn thing everyday. i wash and wear to lexington and wash and wear to shop in louisville at krogers every freaking day…i am so sick of this crap….the only thing i dont wear is upholstery fabric like michelle…and i really could not give a hooey what she wears either…i know obama wants us to hurry up and vote cause our car might break down or our washer might break and my clothes might not get clean.might fall down and sprain my ankle..maybe get a sinus attack….but, i have to wait til the nov 4 to vote and i am wondering if be thinkin somthing might be brewing that might make people change their minds

  • Connie

Aha!!!! Why does it take so long to take care of that? Strange …..

OK, this hubbub about Gov. Palin’s wardrobe and whatnot has gone from p*ssing me off to being utterly ridiculous to p*ssing me off again.

If this sort of thing is so damnned important enough to warrant media coverage why aren’t there headlines about Obama’s, Biden’s and McCain’s personal expenses?

And if the media wants to talk about campaign money, fine. I want to hear LOTS more about how Barack Oblowme is getting his money and how he’s spending it.

I’d like to give the collective MSM a big fat kick in the teeth right now!

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

Blog looks like it is six hours old.

OT: if you missed Berg on Savage there is a audio of the interview to listen to. I am no fan of Savage and have my doubts about Berg but at least he is trying to do something to uncover the truth. And Savage is heard nationwide being third behind only Hannity and Limbaugh.

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

Berg is 18 minutes into the recording.

  • jj1980

    Galt,
Seems that the Blog got taken off-line. Am I going NUTS?? Just a Lurker but this is weird.

  • vee

I have to say that even if they are spending that kind of money on clothes and stylists, it is worth it. Every time I see a picture of Palin, she looks fantastic.

  • jj1980

Seems that Sarah is getting to them. Being down to earth is something that MSM and DC LOST.

  • bayareavoter

That the msm deem this even worth mentioning while the world economy is tanking; fraudulent votes are showing up in OH; the Dems want to take away our 401ks (crickets about this one); questionable fund raising…it just makes me sick. Do you remember anyone talking about the cost of Barky’s Greek columns?

Watching Sarah Palin I just know that if she had 20 months like Barky she’d be the better candidate.

Did you receive the horrible hit piece from NOW about her and McCain? With Halloween costume ideas? This year is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I’m embarrassed I was a blind Democrat all these yrs.

  • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

Well I was having one of those moments where you know how it feels to be the last living person on Earth and you spoiled it!

Yeah its been very quiet here. Very odd. Maybe the blog is under attack by hackers of the Oborg collective?

Is your name Snodgrass? You would have to be a classic sci-fi movie fan to get what I mean. ;)

  • Steve_in_KC

A bunch of posts just disappeared. I mean whole articles and their comments. Looks like something crashed and an archive was put up.

  • http://obamacrimes.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

Sounds like the most plausible explanation but there is also a lack of much current activity. I’ve been monitoring the blog for maybe 2-3 hours and only maybe a dozen new comments up. Maybe the back-up server if one is being used is hosted in a second locale with less bandwidth? Something is up for certain.

  • Steve_in_KC

I just watched this vid from a link in a topic that is no longer here, for whatever reason.

    http://www.wftv.com/video/17790025/index.html

This Florida TV reporter is hammering Biden! And of course, he’s lying his ass off. Pretty entertaining watching her face him down with tough questions. He appears to be in shock!

  • jj1980

Sorry not Snodgrass, do not recall the film, but I do like Sci-fic, seems all this vitriol shows that there is no intelligent life here. Hope someone will beam me up? Weird have Marxists to the left of me and Globlists to the right. What happened to the centrists??

  • http://obamacrimes.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

    Plenty of centrists here usually.

Snodgrass was the name given to a store manikin by Carleton Heston in the film The Omega Man.

If you don’t recall, Heston thought he was the only (non diseased by germ warfare) normal human being left on Earth. The diseased ones would only come out at night like vampires as they were allergic to sunlight. Snodgrass was Heston’s only “friend.”

Well anyway, I named you Snodgrass because I was feeling like Heston for a while here, like wicked all alone!

Plenty of non-vitriolic centrists here usually mixed in with vitriolic trolls.

Snodgrass was a manikin so-named by Carleton Heston in the classic flick “The Omega Man.”

Heston was kind of the last normal human being on Earth and needed a “friend.”

  • jj1980

I know, found this as a cross post from NewsBusters a while back. People here seem better except for the trolls. Never wanted to give any party the whole enchilada. Tried to take the best from either party, now it seems that both parties have been sold out to the big money, Marxists to the left of me and Globlists to the right paraphrasing an old song.
How is the popcorn concession going?

  • tugz

That story was false — the Post retracted it, MO wasn’t even there at the time.

  • tugz

I absolutely agree. To be taken seriously, your outfit must cost at least the income of an average American for a year.

Those Wal-Mart dresses wear out incredibly quickly, too. Heck, one campaign stop and a speech, and they’d be fraying out with holes everywhere.

    Gah. I’m flabbergasted…

  • tugz

    I am, too.

Maybe that’s what people clicking the front page ad (retire Hillary’s debt) are actually paying for?

  • Brendy

Whenever anybody criticizes Obama, ever notice how his Obama and/or his handlers say “Americans want to hear about the ISSUES; how they’re going to pay their mortages, put gass in their cars, they don’t care to hear about who he associated with in the past, or what MEchelle said..blah, blah.”? O.K. America – so NOW let’s talk about the ISSUES that Americans want to hear about – how come McCain/Palin, their handlers come out and SAY THIS -the VERY SAME THING the Obummer people do! The Obama jerks get a PASS ON EVERYTHING!!!

  • Brendy

‘how come McCain/Palin, their handlers DON’T come out and say this’…

  • No Obama for me

Matthew is referring to “Twitter” in his article.

    I caution everyone here

  • No Obama for me

    Vince,

Good thing you are not posting on “Twitter”

They edit your posts to say something really terrible about Big “O” and then call the secret service. That is if you are not an Obama supporter.

All of this crap is just way too scary. How did we ever get to this place here in America’
Caution to everyone ” Be cautious about posting on Twitter, the site operator is an Obama supporter, big time and they will slime you if you are against him and then alert the SS. It happened to someone I know.

  • AnninCA

Amazing how there’s absolutely no fear of printing sexist crapola about Palin.

  • C.S.

Ohhh…what a Scarlet O’Hara moment! I didn’t know the Obamas were so hard up; perhaps they should cut down on lobster and carviar and have the campaign buy her a new dress.

I remember reading some where that Michelle gets her clothes from some “designer” in Chicago.(For the past few years, (hmmm should of saved it to buy their own house including paying for the side yard that the Rezko’s bought) I can’t imagine them getting more business from poeple dieing to wear the sofa material dresses Michelle looks so lovely in.
