“Our Country Deserves Better” * Open Thread

I happened to see this stirring, positive television ad this morning on Fox News and, for once, didn’t fast-forward through the commercials! I jotted down the URL for the group, “OurCountryDeservesBetter.com. Check out their campaign bus:

Report: Government Computers Used to Get Information on ‘Joe the Plumber’

The Dispatch reported that information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.

        ……………..

My dear lord, how far have things gone, when the government targets its citizens. When did it become a crime to ask a question of a presidential candidate? :-(

        • lisa in va

And the police state has begun.

      • SusanUnPC

Oh mama mia! Can someone collate all this info and e-mail to me? susanunpc at gmail dot com

I’ll share it with the writers on our little private list, and one of us will get this written!

        • POdVet

I think it would be worth the extra time when doing the article, if you can find out the prison terms they could face for the flagrant abuse of power.

While you’re at it, Susan… get to the bottom of who in the McCain campaign pushed the Ashley Todd race hoax to the media.

          • Stray

It was probably one from the obambi came. It smells like something they would do….

              oops meant camp.

      • McPalin

We can’t allow that to happen – we cannot allow the beacon of freedom and liberty to be turned over to this man.

        • AnninCA

I believe we just need to vote and express ourselves honestly.

          Truly.

          That’s enough.

          • bemused

It would be nice to do that, wouldn’t it? But it seems it isn’t happening. So just “believe” doesn’t cut it right now, “believe” is = “hopey dopey” in this election and something stronger is needed to make sure we can vote.

            • imustprotest

I agree. Obama’s people are proven cheaters. Just voting isn’t enough.

Palin is showing 50% say Yes and 48% say No…..I guess more are saying she is qualified…must be bothering the Obama minions!

      • tek

Oh my good god, PBS has gone completely nuts. The Democrats have become the thing they hate.

I’m going to the NOW site to ask David Brauncochio why he doesn’t put up a poll to ask Americans if they think Obama is qualified to be president.

        What a crock of s**t.

I’ve seen it quite a few times in usually solid blue WA state, too. It’s my favorite campaign ad.

OT, I was playing Bunco last night (where we never speak politics) and a couple women were talking about how long they’ve been married. One woman brought up that Barack and Michelle have been married 16 years, just like her daughter, and the daughter piped in “I don’t care, he’s still not qualified!” I had to add “I totally agree.” It was a nice bonding moment for the two of us.

Attorney General Nancy Rodgers,, it was her office…Is she a democrat supporting Obama. Hope she loses her law license

      • Leisa

This seems to be yet another example of the “end justifying the means” of many Obama supporters in this election. Why does he inspire unethical behavior?

    • Clara Barton

This is going way too far. If this happened, I hope there are criminal charges.

    • C.S.

Isaac Baker, Obama’s Ohio spokesman, denounced Lindsay’s statement as charges of desperation from a campaign running out of time. “Invasions of privacy should not be tolerated. If these records were accessed inappropriately, it had nothing to do with our campaign and should be investigated fully,” he said.

But I didn’t hear that Joe’s name wasn’t Joe and that he didn’t have a plumber’s license from Senator McCain’s campaign. That came from the Soertoro/Obama Campaign and was spread by mainstream media, like CNN and MSNBC, and we all know that finding Soertoro/Obama’s real birth certificate is beyond their investigating capabilities.

Logic tells us that if McCain planned to sneak into private files and found something negative against Joe, he wouldn’t have mentioned him so often in his speeches; so who else would have any desire to smear Joe except the man Joe dared to question?

      • AnninCA

I presume the person leaked info to the media.

  • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com/ Grail Guardian

Very nice ad, but at this stage of the game I doubt anything this docile will affect anyone. There aren’t any really truly “Undecideds” left, just leaners. To be effective, anything from here on out needs to pack a serious punch.

    • Clara Barton

Grail, I agree that only a real gut-puncher could break through the current fervor for “change”. This is a great ad and should have been done as a bio-ad much earlier. With so many early voters (have you seen those lines of Barky’s peeps in South Florida?) I fear that any legitimate revelation will be too late. I’m feeling pessimistic in the last couple of days.

      • Shiloh

Pessimistic is exactly how they want you to feel. But there is no reason for it.

        • Clara Barton

Thanks for that, Shiloh! I’ll buck up.

Also, did anyone hear that in Fairfax County, VA military absentee votes are not being counted because of a Virginia law/technicality?
The Fairfax Co. registrar is a Dem of course and has been instrumental in ensuring that felons could vote but will not push the law on these military ballots.

Shiloh, your unfailing optimism is much needed in these closing days. I really appreciate it.

        • lisa in va

Agreed. I’m confident of a McCain landslide. Why? Have you seen the AOL straw poll over the last few weeks? Only one vote per IP address & last week alone was over 210,000 votes. So you have the largest poll sample than any other poll & very little chance of padding the numbers. O’blahblah only won 4 or 5 states. Even if you give him the close states, McCain still has enough for a win.

Like someone else said, the love affair with Obama will end once the polls open. Most people have common sense and won’t take a chance on an unknown (better the devil you know philosophy).

I’ve been feeling pretty good for the last 3 weeks. Then again, I have the tv off most the time & refuse to read anything politics related on the computer unless is it here or a few other select sites.

          • Undercover Black

You’re right, lisa. It’s gonna be a McCain landslide, no question about it!

Here are the latest nation polls, which only serve to prove the point that all of America’s professional pollsters are WRONG!…

            Zogby: OBAMA +9

            Rasmussen: OBAMA +8

            Hotline/FD: OBAMA +7

Yesss… McCain has Obama right where he wants him!!

The pollsters are wrong UMB. You’ll see.

        • helen

          I agree.
There is a quiet wave of voters out there that will never vote for backtrack.
The “toyko rose’s and Axis sally’s and lord haha’s” of the media have made it polically incorrect to speak out against an unqualified candidate in this election.
The quiet wave will sweep the qualified candidates into office on Nov 4.

Talking about possible revelations, Sean Hannity announced (last night) that his show Sunday night will be VERY INFORMATIVE and Obama WILL NOT LIKE IT.
Hannity has had several shows highlighting Obama’s radical associations and ties to ACORN, etc.

        • Obamanation

Newsflash. Nothing Hannity does is liked by Obama, because all he does is crap on Obama. It’ll probably be another show with a fraud like Andy Martin on it or that Uncle Tom, Pastor Manning.

        • Liz B

          I love Sean Hannity.
It has been so refreshing to see the Counterpart to Commentators like Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Campbell Brown, Barbara Walters…one man has had the courage to report tough news about Obama.
He is an Irish Catholic, married, father. A family man. He is tough, and he isn’t intimidated by Obama and his minions, he will not fall in line with the Obama Camp’s rules for journalists on what is pc and what is not. (yeah, they had instruction at the Journalist’s Convention last October onways to spin),
If you have not tuned in yet to watch Hannity’s America on Sunday nights, then you are missing out on the man who was the sole exposer of Rev. Jeremiah Wright. He was the only one who would investigate it and bring it to light. We can also thank him for Jill Stanek and BAIPA exposure, the Odinga investigation, etc.
If Sean says BO won’t like his upcoming show, then I can promise you we PUMAs will…Undercover, you won’t, but there will be LOTS of alternative on air programming to fuel your need for apparent 24/7 Obama Love from the MSM. I suggest you watch the others.

    • John Smith

Some polls have the undecided as high as 12%. I don’t see how this is possible. My guess would be that they don’t want to vote republican but can’t get them self to commit to Obama. So at the end they will vote for the guy they know and that is McCain.

      • AnninCA

There’s bad news today on Politico. The campaign pretty much conceded that it will lose NM and Iowa.

They also admitted they are in trouble in CO and Nevada.

If Obama takes those Western states, I don’t see how John can win, frankly, if something doesn’t break.

        • PhxNickD

          There

          • AnninCA

Well, the article is by one of the writers there who pretty much consistently writes negatively about McCain’s campaign.

What’s stupid is that it’s one of those “everyone is pointing fingers at why the campaign isn’t working” articles.

Personally, I don’t think McCain did or is doing a darn thing wrong. It’s the economy.

One of my Catholic walking buddies is voting Obama, because she says, (and she has a point) McCain I like. Palin I like. But if we elect another Republican, he’ll be installing Republicans into the administration. And that is unacceptable.

I thought the abortion issue would keep her voting McCain.

There is still room for hope. Palin, in my opinion, is doing a magnificent job of not only rallying the base but also pulling in a share of the undecideds.

But the wind is blowing Obama’s way.

            • pkat

Then the Catholic Church should deny her holy communion for supporting Obama, just like they did against Kerry and his supporters.

              • AnninCA

                *BLINK*

            • Tuppence 411

Sunday, November 2, 2008 will decide this election. Many people, especially the MSM, fail to realize the impact. It’s too late in the game to be picked up by the pollsters. What happens in churches all around this country on that Sunday is values take center stage. Values, not candidates taking points or personalities. Not the voters self-interests. Values. The last word many voters hear before casting their votes on Tuesday is not a speech or an ad, but a SERMON.

In regards to CO, I have a very hard believing James Dobson and Focus on the Family which is based in CO are giving up that state for blue without a major battle.

            • Liz B

send her to the Catholic websites, that will set her straight. They are quite clear about the five Non Negotiables for Catholic’s who vote. Catholics are supposed to value Life above any other issue, if your friend will not honor that tenet, then friend might want to find another Religion…seriously.

For folks interested in Barky’s BC issue I found an interesting article over at America’sright…I’ll post the links. Jeff compares the issues in the case…
    http://www.dailyjot.com/news_391.html
this article discusses the legal argument about standing and apparently a the law stands voters do not have standing to know or vet…only parties…sheeesh!

    • workingclass artist

here are the other links to the articles on Berg v Obama…
      http://www.americasright.com/2008/10/two-articles-two-sides-of-berg-v-obama.html
      http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/obama_birth_certificate/2008/10/24/143882.html
I think Jeff’s summary is a good one. He’s able to break it down to make it digestible…

    • jbjd

Not to be technical but… This absence of standing only applies to lawsuits initiated by voters asking the court to declare a candidate is ineligible to be POTUS. Otherwise, voters can challenge a candidate’s inclusion in their states’ general election ballots due to ineligibility. Some states require such challenges must first be filed with the Secretary of State. If after exhausting administrative procedures voters are still dissatisfied with the results, they may petition the courts for redress. But the laws enacted in some states allow voters in those states to file such challenges directly with the court.

And voters can petition the court to compel state officials charged with examining a candidate’s eligibility to do their jobs, through an action called mandamus.

      • workingclass artist

        Hmmmm…Well suits have been filed in 8 states I think…so far…

        • jbjd

Just to clarify… Following the laws enacted in the states, voters in some states may ‘challenge’ a candidate’s eligibility to be on the ballot in their state by petitioning the S of S, the state official usually required by law to oversee elections. Administrative procedures acts explain how this is done. If the S of S rules against the challenge, the challenger may go to court, arguing the state official failed to appropriately follow the process to reach her conclusion. However, some states allow voters to take their challenges directly to state courts. In that case, the voter is asking the state court to issue a ruling ordering the S of S to remove the candidate from the state ballot, due to ineligibility to be on the ballot. If the voter is unhappy with the court’s decision, she may appeal to a higher court, arguing the lower court made an error of fact or law in reaching its decision. (You cannot appeal on the basis, you do not like the decision.)

On the other hand, Attorney Berg filed a petition with the federal court as an individual citizen, asking for a declaration that BO is ineligible to be POTUS. He argued that BO’s ineligibility deprived him of the right to choose another candidate.

        • d2d

and a Mandamus suit has been filed in Virginia

    • C.S.

I’m not so sure of that argument because no law that is not Constitutional can be enforced. And we have a whole court system dedicated to overturning any law in direct conflict with the Constitution.

Amendment I of the Bill of Rights explicitly gives any citizen the right to “petition the Government for a redress of grievances and if an unqualified presidential candidate who refuses of offer proof of eligibility is NOT considered a “grievance” against the People, what is?

It is an inalienable right, and the Judicial Branch of the government is charged with enforcing that Right and all of these court cases were filed with the State and the Federal Courts and therefore must be adjudicated.

Also, political parties have no Constitutional authority to nominate candidates and were not even a part of the original process and therefore are subject to the same laws as any exclusive “club.” NO candidate has to go through the Republican or Democratic party to be nominated.

    • Laura

      The lawsuit has been dismissed.
      http://www.americasright.com/

  • Shiloh

I’ve been reading this one report that the Berg case was dismissed and find it fishy. Why would one little paper in Philadelphia have this and no-one else? Plus, they are quoting the judge as using terms like “frivolous” and ‘unworthy of discussion.” Cmon, what judge will say things like that?

    • workingclass artist

Shiloh can you post a link to the article…I hadn’t read that. Martin’s case from what i read hasn’t been dismissed but scheduled for a hearing on Nov. 7…only the emergency petition on the 22nd.
      It can get confusing…

      • Shiloh

Very fishy. Why doesn’t the article include a lkink to the ruling? Why can nothing else be found anywhere online?

        http://www.philly.com/dailynews/local/20081025_Judge_rejects_Montco_lawyer_s_bid_to_have_Obama_removed_from_ballot.html

        • PKJAYNE

Shiloh I read this earlier this morning.

I liked this added little bit.

Further, a birth announcement in the Aug. 13, 1961, Honolulu Advertiser listed Obama’s birth there on Aug. 4. *

          Seems strange.

          • Shiloh

That’s a comment by the supposed writer. The more I think about it the more I think this is a hoax. Why does no-one else have it? The Phila Inquirer doesn’t, NYT doesn’t, Drudge doesn’t. And for a judge to say things like that would be enough to have his ruling thrown out. Not worthy of discussion? If that’s the case why has it taken over two months to rule?

            • workingclass artist

Yeah…also no time listed for the report or the ruling…Hmmmm…We shall see…

        • PewL

So is this one not true? This clip shows Obama must step down, because he’s not a US citizen.

          http://xeniagazette.1upmonitor.com/main.asp?SectionID=17&SubSectionID=452&ArticleID=161386&TM=85035

    • C.S.

Soretoro/Obama and the DNC asked the judge to throw out the case earlier and the judge did not, so it is unlikely that he would waste 2 months of judicial time on a case he planned to rule as “frivolous” and “unworthy of discussion”.

    • debbie

Lawsuits are dismissed all the time for being frivolous. It means that the purported evidence is obviously flimsy. That is the case in a suit that cites anonymous postings on web sites as proof.

  • georgiapeach

I think that John McCain has seriously misused Sarah Palin. She gave her first policy speech yesterday. I’ve been seeing ads here in Georgia with both Obama and McCain increasing, but I saw one featuring Sarah Palin for the first time yesterday. If they had been running ads featuring her all along, it would have helped to dispel the media narrative. I understand why they kept her away from interviews for a while, but running her in ads would have been a safe way to keep her in the public eye in a more positive way.

John, this story hit home for me, since I am one of those that this article is talking about. But, it would be nice for someone to tell Wallace (yeah the male chavx)on Fox that the Polls that he keeps smiling about are based on 800 people for Obama. Everyday he makes it a point to say Obama is ahead of Mccain 8 points and when you look at the survey he is referring to it is Msnbc’s buddies pollster. Everybody knows how Wallace feels about women being in power, gosh, it is so obvious. I hand it to Sean H- a real man and a real patriot and a real american who believes in women advancement.

I’d like to apply but am afraid of repurcussions! Can’t trust anyone nowadays. Even my response to this post could lead to Obamabots using government computers against me, but I’m taking a chance to stand up here at NQ after being inspired by Sarah’s ad. I don’t even think Hillary bucked her own party, except maybe to campaign longer than they wanted her to.

And I agree JM should have been way bolder than he has. He’s run his campaign like Hillary – based on fear of repudiation by big media and fear of being accused of racism, not fully understanding that it doesn’t matter, they’re going to call you racist no matter what, so he should fight like he means to win – gloves off!

      But it’s probably too late.

Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience is incompatible with freedom. No free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue; and by a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles.

It cannot be emphasized to strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ! For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.

The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able may have a gun.

So in other words the only way to kill the cancer is remember Patrick Henry’s famous words.

PatriotParty thinks it is time for our own 10 million person march to Washington. It is our duty as citizens of these United States to unseat our representatives who are in violation or their oaths to uphold the constitution, to protect and defend it, and to DO NO HARM. People they are doing harm, and it is time to take back OUR HOUSE from them.

I said something on here that was wrong and I would like to correct it:

I said Obama was going to be on FOX so he couldn’t be on O’Riley, He in not going to be on FOX Cable channel. It is the regular FOX channel along with NBC and CBS. So Bill could have him on but I watched his show last night and from an e-mail he read from a viewer I didn’t get the feeling he would do that. But you never know what Bill will do.

    Sorry for the bad information.

    • POdVet

I believe they could do an interview, but if they try to give McCain the same amount of time as Obama is paying for on the networks. The Obama campaign would undoubtedly file a complaint with the FEC that it was a gift to the McCain campaign. The ones wanting the “fairness doctrine” do not want any fairness involved if it does not benefit the Obamessiah!

I have been reading several comments like Grail Guardian’s “To be effective, anything from here on out needs to pack a serious punch.” and I have thought all during the Clinton campaign that we should be fighting fire with fire.

Every time Senator Clinton was accused of something by Soertoro/Obama she found herself playing defense; one thing Governor Palin won’t do. But the other day I learned that my spouse had three co-workers (who are leaning McCain) who were unaware that there was even one suit filed over Soertoro/Obama’s qualifications. These are educated people with busy lives who don’t buy the propaganda about “hope” and “change” but didn’t realize there were so many lawsuits against his candidacy in so many different states.

So would an in-your-face “intervention” like the Obama supporters are constantly doing at McCain rallies, chanting “show us your birth certificate, Barry” pack enough of a punch because the media blackout has kept most voters who don’t visit blogs like NQ unaware that there are legal issues with his even running for office that have not been resolved.

We know the press (except for blogs) won’t touch this story even thought it would be groundbreaking for the reporter/journalist who actually did it. Again, I question why not even one Woodward/Bernstein would try.

    • John Smith

I bet you people who don’t watch the media will most likely vote for McCain. They don’t know anything about Obama. So they will not vote for him.

      • Shiloh

That reminds me of Larry’s recent article that said 122 million people voted in 2004, but only about 30 million watch the msm news.

    • jbjd

…and it would be so easy to discredit him on this account, but not for the reason you think. Several month ago, BO conceded that voters question his eligibility for POTUS, by posting that “Certification of Live Birth.” And he has been served with Notice several lawsuits have been filed questioning his status as natural born citizen, at least one of these suits – the Berg suit – he has fought to dismiss. Yet, despite this unequivocal evidence voters lack faith in his eligibility, this man who wants to become their leader has chosen not to allay their concerns by producing the documentation that could prove his eligibility.

And, even if he releases a ‘birth certificate’ now, how will he explain that, for the past several months, he has been passing off that “Certification of Live Birth” as a “Birth Certificate”?

    • wodiej

I had lunch w someone I used to work with. Intelligent, christian, family person, responsible, works hard. She didn’t know about Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers or ANY of BO’s stance on the issues. She still said she didn’t feel comfortable voting for him but got wide eyed when I told her about his radical associations. She said she doesn’t pay attention to the news.

By the way, I have found statements on other blogs that OReilley did offer McCain 30 minutes on his show opposite Obamas 30 min thing. I can’t imagine that McCain would turn it down.

    • baby-puppy

I listened to O’Liley on XM yesterday and he said he was still “undecided”. He said he’s angry with McCain for not addressing the illegal immigration problem in Arizona to his liking. He also said McCain holds a grudge against him for a tough interview they did some years back.

Couple that with the soft soft touchy feely interview he performed with BO and you know why I’m not surprised he’s a big BO fan. I mean he defends him all the time on his radio show. He hates other Dems like Pelosi and Franks, but not BO.

      • 30yrdem-not any more

  • lightacandle

Although I have voted for Democrats all my adult life, I am not voting for Barack Obama — because I do not vote for pathological liars.

Obama has lied — repeatedly — about (for example) his relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers and ACORN.

Obama said he is “for” universal healthcare — but he has worked against universal healthcare. Obama said he would rid Washington politics of the influence of lobbyists, but he retains CORPORATE LOBBYISTS and CORPORATE CEOs on his campaign staff and presumably they will follow Obama into the White House where they will craft legislation favorable to their CORPORATIONS — just as the vile Dick Cheney did with his energy buddies.

Obama broke his promises about the FISA act and regarding public funding of his campaign in the general election, among other issues.

If you know where Obama stands on off-shore drilling or NAFTA, send me a telegram.

He said he would unite the country but has divided Americans with his vile tactics.

Obama says he would protect a woman’s right to choose but when he had the opportunity to do just that in the Illinois senate, Obama ducked and voted “present” on three major “choice” bills.

No, I do not vote for promise-breakers and pathological liars.

  • Papoose

Lightacandle, not only has he divided our Country he has divided our communities, our workplaces and our households.

No, this is real it was dismissed. The judge says:

      • oowawa

This ruling makes me sick with disgust.

        • http://www.dawnellesplace.com Dawnelle Leona del Puma

          ditto

ok here is some positive or logical opinion for the Mc/Palin camp

I’m no expert but I’ve been watching a LOT of all channels and reading here and various other places and from what I’ve gathered only about 12 percent of the people that claim they plan to vote have done so already and that of THOSE it is pretty much split even with Obama having the slight edge right? (or so I’m reading)

MY logic leads me to assume that if you are a BAMBI fan or OBOT or REPUBLICAN HATER you are SO JAZZED by now you are in line or willing to wait in line for hours EARLY just to release your anger or show your JOY of candidate!

          make sense?

the others – the people who have voted for 50 yrs – the reliable voters that left MUST be MOSTLY for McCain/Palin otherwise they would have already sent in their absentee or been one of those seen everywhere on TV

they say it’s only about 11 or 12 percent of the voters!!

          80 plus left to vote

to me this means the radicals have voted
the kids have voted (those that are planning on it)
the hippies have mailed in their ballots (in oregon) lol
and the rest will fall on the side of republicans and indies mostly for Mack

          just my logic

i can’t see obots being able to sit and wait until nov 4

          • Elizabeth

Assuming also bumper stickers and yard signs are a valid measure of enthusiasm…I live in a county in Indiana that has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, close to 10%.

Why have I seen less than a handful, and just as many for McCain/Palin? If there is anyone that should be hyped by change it should be here, RIGHT ??!

            • http://www.dawnellesplace.com Dawnelle Leona del Puma

I see very few Obama bumperstickers and even less yard signs.

I’ve also started seeing more Mc/Palin road signs alongside of local politicians signs along the roads not on personal property and so far none are stolen and the few I’ve seen for Obama have been half as large and far and few between

very odd I thought I would see more

I’m jealous. She had only one rally in CA, and that was too far for me.

I remember that Obama isn’t really pushing yard signs or even bumper sticker stuff.

                Maybe he anticipated the tension?

Anyway, this is not a good year for the usual campaign junk. There are always stories of yard signs being stolen, but this year, it carries a kind of racist overtone that, frankly, isn’t good.

I repeat the adage: Yard signs are mostly to annoy your neighbors. *haha

                • Elizabeth

According to this dispatch from Obama headquarter Waynesboro VA, he the campaign is actively discouraging yard signs.

Reportedly as no substitute for person-to-person contact, but maybe they really want to play their cards close, not set(tip) too many people off and pray that helps him to emerge as the stealth candidate.

Wall to wall TV advertising sort of negates the value of underexposure, though, unless “flaunt your wealth” is the new spin.

                  http://augustafreepress.com/2008/09/24/waynesboro-the-post-reports-on-lack-of-obama-signs-in-river-city/

                    hippies live in communes (hehe)

and the kids don’t yet OWN a YARD

so why would Bambi promote yard signs

                    indeed

                    • imustprotest

Obama makes them pay for the yard signs.

                  • AnninCA

That’s pretty clear to me, anyway.

Obama was told in PA that he was overflooding the airways, and that would work against him.

                    He fired that PR firm.

His method is airway blasting, I call it.

No traditional signs, bumper stickers, etc.

So that’s not a cue for reading the public. He’s not even pushing that stuff.

He is buying it through TV.

He’s burning through money like mad.

I frankly think it’s irresponsible, it’s a sign that he’s not fiscally responsible, and I reject it.

I think he’s continuing a losing strategy for this country.

I vote McCain because I think the Republican party is in such disarray, that they will actually regroup along smarter lines.

I think the DNC has drunk its own kool-aid, and they will continue to the propoganda strategy until we are truly, truly broke.

But I don’t think either party offers a solution.

I think we’re headed into a major depression, and those who know how to make potatoes into a great meal survive.

Those who are into shopping for a lifestyle will not.

I’m not so sure I disapprove, frankly.

I’m pretty much disgusted with the incredible consumerism I’ve seen grow over the past 20 years.

I can’t see how normal people can stand this nonsense.

          • RJ

Hey Dawnelle it does appear we have the same logic. Great point about early voting! Also, let’s not forget in the majority of the dem primaries, many of the late deciders broke for Hillary…someone familiar who has been around for a long time.

Obama is a fraud……this is in response.

I have never hidden my dislike for this strain of anti-Obama efforts.

I agree totally…..he is a liar. But I don’t really have to seek out some odd notion that he’s lying about his birth to confirm that. I saw in the primaries with the race card incident with Bill C., where he was caught red-handed pushing the race card meme. Later it was in Ohio where he got caught on NAFTA while trying, absurdly, to make it Hillary’s people who *winked* with Canadian officials.

Then we have his past record to go on.

But mostly, I saw the FISA vote. Direct contradiction.

I saw the lie about campaign finance reform. Direct contradiction.

I have more than enough evidence to know that Obama is nothing more than a lying politician. I am not voting for him or, now, for many down-ticket Democrats, because I am one voter who has had it with this type of politics.

    I’m done.

I also am not about to jump aboard the “Kenya” express.

    Never have. Never will.

So I annoy people alot here who are into this fringe stuff.

And I take the heat, too, btw.

I’m called a troll regularly. I am insulted regularly.

But I say, proudly, that is because it’s far-right thinking. And I’m just not far-right. It’s the same bashing as the far-left did. And I’m not far-left.

Moderates, like Sarah Palin this year, are just open season.

It isn’t something that bothers me, btw. This is such a scary, scary time for all of us. It brings out the worst.

I agree with all the more positive pundits. Bet on America.

    We will get through this.

What I and many here see as “your problem” is that as far as you’re concerned, the only accurate and intelligent viewpoint is your own.
You are the only one who knows how hard to press the pedal on anti-Obama sentiment and anyone who is more hard-core and willing to investigate any avenues to find something on a man they KNOW will kill our country is simply an idiot reactionary.
What you are, Ann, is a person who can only support this effort if complies completely with your world view.
Sorry to disappoint you but the only ones on the planet who see down that narrow little tube are you and your goldfish.

    • Seattle Moss

      Annin
After reading your recent posts I have concluded that you look at the world in shades of gray. You think everything will work out just fine.

I’m here to tell you that kind of thinking may have worked in the nineties but now we are facing a world that’s black and white in the choices we make. Obama’s side lives in a pre 911 world and fails to see the developing threats of Iran, Russia and Venezuela against American interests.
This is a time for America to remain firm in our resolve or lose it all.
Obama represents defeat for America..That is why he is the candidate of the left.
Is there a wonder that everyone that hates us wishes for Obama to win. What they are really saying is that they wish for America’s defeat.
I have lived in socialist countries..

I fail to see how it is “smearing” BO to ask for his proof of citizenship. If he has it, why doesn’t he show it? Why won’t he show his college or medical records? All of these as a whole make it look like he is hiding something. When we apply for a job we are scrutinized more than Obama has been for the highest job possible. Something is just not right with that. If he was born in the US, than apparently there is something revealing about all of his records or something that could be revealed with access to them that he does not want us to know. Again, if he is about hope and change we can believe in, THEN HE NEEDS TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

I guess if you can cross our borders illegally, litter, damage property, get a job without a legal proof of citizenship, birth certificate or social security number, not pay the fair share of taxes, collect public assistance, get free education for your children and no one speak English, I can see why BO is the Dem nominee.

    • AnninCA

There are times when only the classic motivational speeches will suffice.
    FDR’s “Fear Itself” speech…
    Reagan’s “Tear Down this Wall”…

and this, the greatest of them all…

I love you my friends, Never Give Up!

Where is Jerome Corsi? Has anyone heard from him?

    • Chicago Joe

I read somewhere that he was heading to Hawaii.

    • Chicago Joe

I heard he was on his way to Hawaii.

Is anyone else starting to getting really discouraged? The new polls out today show that Obama has opened his biggest lead ever and Reuters is reporting that McCain’s points are just not sticking.

    I’m feeling so frustrated!

    • Andrew

I’m starting to get so discouraged. What is going on? Don’t people see what a phony Obama is? I guess not. They are more interested in his race. Sad.

    • Elizabeth

What new ones are those ? If Obama is surging and these respondents are so likely to vote, why haven’t they done so ? Polling of early voters is showing a fairly even turnout for both candidates (at least if you believe exit polls).

  • MONTY

Our country DOES deserve better, and thankfully we start heading on that path in 10 days with an Obama victory.

For your viewing pleasure, a list of the many (though certainly not all) issues your hero McCain flip flops on:

    Torture
    Special Interests
    Campaign Finance Laws
    Jerry Falwell
    Iraq
    Abortion
    Bush’s tax cuts
    Ethanol
    Gay Marriage
    Confederate Flag
    Gun control
    Moqtada al Sadr
    Housing Relief
    The Press and Hillary
    The Estate Tax
    Wiretaps
    Immigration Reform
    Offshore drilling
    Hurricane Katrina investigations
    Guantanamo
    Social Security Privatization
    Minimum Wage

    Yeah, that’s country first.

  • Ted Kennedy’s Swim Coach

    This is a great ad.
I will donate to this PAC so they can get the TRUTH out.

Does anyone have a list of likeminded PACs that we can donate to or volunteer?

  • Andrew

I’m scared. It looks like America is going to throw my future away over bitterness and race.

  • Lindsy

I also think it’s clear that the GOP has never had any October surprises. And if they are waiting until the last 72 hours it will be too far late.

MSM will never report anything negative about Obama and now that the Berg judge has said there is nothing the courts can do it is in the hands of Congress. The DEMOCRATIC congress who will protect their hand selected candidate.

I just pray that our country lasts 2 more years so we can overthrow the Dem majority and get some Repubs in there to stop the liberal bleeding.

Otherwise, it isn’t going to be pretty at all.

HANG IN THERE! We’ve still got trolls coming – we must be doing a lot right!
Ssomedays when it feels like it’s all going wrong, I can’t give up. I would never be able to live with myself if I voted for the guy who is in today’s papers in the “loving photo with Grandma” photo. Only it’s from 1979…same old phony. Another rock lifted, and guess who crawled out?

Wow.. I must say it’s so sexist to support Palin just because shes a woman, and more-so out of spite over Hillary.

It’s unfortunate that seemingly intelligent women would buy into McSame and this caricature of everything Hillary stood for.

    Obama/Biden 2008

    • McCain is my type of Drug

      sexist – do u have a set of T I T S ???

woman should support a woman – like the blacks supporting black – that is the truth !

what arrogance ! who gives a CHIT about Hillary at this point – she is not in the race !

      She is/was a sell out.

It is our GIVEN right to vote the way we want – not just party line!!!

Isn’t it “Us” Reagan/Clinton democrats McCain and BHO wants/needs!

How important are we !!!! Tell that to the RBC !

      • my people

better to have the ceiling broken by anyone, than no-one at all…

doesn’t the fact that McCain is already stifling her, and that he calls his wife Cindy a ‘trollop’, bother you at all?

this reeks of the same mysoginy, IMHO, that every woman has been fighting against.

electing a puppet VP wont help

Okey….James or is it Donna? Or better yet, a known surrogate of Obama. Your time will come when Clarence Thomas will give your man the axe. Did you think Clarence could forget that nasty remark from “Obama’s” concerning him? That he is not fit to be in the black robe? The Berg’s lawsuit is headed that way, child. And you guys will soon be in prison for faking his birth certificate and deceiving our nation. The grand Supreme Court -yes the Conservative Supreme Court will be your man’s downfall. Even if he wins- he will be dismantle.

  • Soldier of Christ

Sarah Palin- Please get on the Oreally show at the same time the messiah is hugging up the network. Please! Give Oreally the ratings- Please! The Orator will try to convince many of them . It is predicted! Listen to the man who held your hand and said you were like “the woman who was called Esther” at one of your rallies. Listen to this, Sarah! Get on the show! Don’t listen to your campaign idiots that are holding you back. Bill will give you good questions! Save our Nation!

My TV bill is out of control. In my house we have 3 TVs, each with cable tv service. We get about 65 channels, but no HD programming. My husband really wants HD for his sports. Baseball season is coming and he is anxious to get it. For what I consider limited service I pay $200 a month . Does that seem way too high? What is a better idea if I wanted HD??
