“Joe the Plumber” Smears Originated from Ohio State Officials

[If you heard Truthteller's radio show tonight, you know about this hideous assault on Joe The Plumber. Why this isn't a national scandal, and the lead story on ALL media outlets, is beyond me. Also: I'm popping up here to add that, since we're changing servers again, this post may disappear and reemerge, but your comments may go "poof" at some point. Please don't be alarmed. Within 48 hours of Joe the Plumber merely asking Senator Barack Obama a question in his Ohio neighborhood, Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher’s government-held records were accessed by three different agencies: The Office of Ohio Attorney General, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency, and the Toledo Police Department.

McCain spokesman Paul Lindsay points out that “It’s outrageous to see how quickly Barack Obama’s allies would abuse government power in an attempt to smear a private citizen who dared to ask a legitimate question.”

Obama’s campaign is quoted as saying the charge is simply a sign of desperation by the McCain campaign.

State officials deny the attorney general’s office itself was involved but do acknowledge that an investigation into the three potentially “criminal” invasions of privacy was underway. No suspects were yet identified.

Thirteen campaign workers for Barack Obama yesterday yanked their voter registrations and ballots in Ohio after being warned by a prosecutor that temporary residents can’t vote in the battleground state.
A dozen staffers – including Obama Ohio spokeswoman Olivia Alair and James Cadogan, who recently joined Team Obama – signed a form letter asking the Franklin County elections board to pull their names from the rolls.
The letter – a copy of which was obtained by palestra.net, a Fox News affiliate – came a day after prosecutor Ron O’Brien publicly urged out-of-state campaign workers for both Obama and John McCain to “examine your conscience” before the elections board beings begins opening absentee ballots today.
Earlier in the week, O’Brien spoke with lawyers for both camps and urged them to make sure their staffs met permanent-residency rules, or face possible felony charges.
Also pulling his ballot yesterday was Hofstra University grad Jake Smith, an Obama volunteer who had voted in Knox County, Ohio.
On Thursday, O’Brien cut a deal with 13 out-of-staters, including four from New York, who tossed out their already-cast ballots and admitted they didn’t meet residency requirements.

It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why.

The McCain campaign claims to know who did it.

It was so obvious that there was an intense smear campaign underway immediately after Joe the Plummer was used in the debate. Of course agency’s were used. It’s the Obama teams trademark. We could go down the list of people who have been smeared that spoke up against Obama, starting with Hillary. They do research and even if they can’t find anything, they simply make it up. COLUMBUS, Ohio – An Ohio man has been charged with making a death threat against the state’s top elections official.
The State Highway Patrol says Dana McArtor was charged Friday with intimidation in a telephoned threat to the office of Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner (BROO’-nur).
Brunner spokesman Jeff Ortega says the call last Friday threatened to kill the secretary of state. Her office says it has been inundated with threats during a busy season of voter lawsuits and alleged registration irregularities.
The 51-year-old Columbus man remains jailed. He is to be arraigned Saturday.
A message was left at a phone listing for the address on his court record. The record didn’t indicate whether he had an attorney.

If you ask me the Obama campaign’s obsession with calling everything the McCain campaign says “an act of desperation” is an act of desperation in itself.

For the last couple of weeks they’ve known that, despite highly biased polls giving Obama varying leads, the race is a lot tighter.

With only days to go, they know that there’s nothing else that is going to give them a mega-boost to guarantee a landslide win. They’ve already had the one and only boost they were going to get – the economic collapse. They knew that the public largely blames Republicans for the crisis and that their pals in the MSM were never going to promote the truth, that Democrats are actually more responsible.

But since then, McCain and Palin have done everything they can to hammer home the truth. They’ve made inroads in convincing the public that Obama’s tax plan spells disaster. They’ve highlighted the difference between their plan and Obama’s, which is that theirs is about strengthening the economy by creating the best conditions for job creations….and thanks to Joe the Plumber, the public has begun to wise up to the fact that Obama’s plan is about spreading existing wealth around while making it harder for big business to create new jobs.

They’ve seen McCain cut into Obama’s lead and it terrifies them. Their only hope has been to try and keep the nation’s focus on the economy and to keep chanting things like “failed policies of the last 8 years” and “McCain wants tax cuts for the rich” over and over again.

But they didn’t figure on Joe Biden making his biggest gaffe of all – warning the nation that since Obama was inexperienced, he would be “tested” by our enemies. This immediately reminded the public about the issue of national defense and McCain’s superiority.

They hoped that they could freeze time at the exact moment that the economy tanked, and carry that boost through to election day. It hasn’t worked out like that, so they know their only hope is to endlessly promote the illusion that they’re safely on top and McCain is “desperate.” It’s all about convincing voters not to bother with McCain but to join the “winning team” instead. So every time McCain attacks them on something legitimate they say it’s a “sign of desperation.”

The only trouble is, in doing so they expose their own nervousness and desperation. They’re so worried about their tenuous, fragile lead that they don’t even want to get into the debate any more. All they can do is attack McCain for being “negative” and accuse his supporters of “hatred” and call everyone “desperate.” It’s pathetic.

I think Mac or the GOP might run with this and do a major ad blitz about what The Precious and his supporters will do to their opponents if he wins – Joe was only a warning shot across the bow. Confirmed: MSM Holds Video Of Barack Obama Attending Jew-Bash & Toasting a Former PLO Operative… Refuse to Release the Video!

Introduction: The LA Times is holding a video that shows Barack Obama celebrating with a group of Palestinians who are openly hostile towards Israel. Barack Obama even gives a toast to a former PLO operative at this celebration. If the American public saw this side of Barack Obama he would never be elected president.
But, the media refuses to release this video.

LA Times writer Peter Wallsten wrote about Barack Obama’s close association with former Palestinian operative Rashid Khalidi back in April.
Wallsten discussed a dinner held back in 2003 in honor of Khalidi, a critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights.
Barack Obama has denied his close association with Khalidi, too.

According to Wallsten the evening not surprisingly turned into a classic Jew-bash:

“During the dinner a young Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, “then you will never see a day of peace.”

One speaker likened “Zionist settlers on the West Bank” to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been “blinded by ideology.”
Barack Obama also praised the former PLO operative during the event.
And, Obama confessed that his family often shared dinner with the Khalidis:

His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been “consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases… It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid’s dinner table,” but around “this entire world.”

…The event was videotaped, and a copy of the tape was obtained by The Times.
Khalidi and the Obamas were great friends in Chicago and often shared meals together.
By the way, Khalidi was also best friends with Bill Ayers.

On Wednesday I talked with Peter Wallsten from the Los Angeles Times about the article on Obama and Khalidi:

Wallston was one of the few mainstream media reporters to report on this radical Obama associate.

Wallston said that the article was written after he watched video taken at the Khalidi going away party. When I asked him about the video he said that as far as he was concerned he was through with the story.

I asked him if he was planning on releasing this video of Obama toasting the radical Khalidi at this Jew-bash. He told me he was not releasing the video. He also would not comment on his source for the video. Wallston also said he did not know if Khalidi’s good friend Bill Ayers was at the event or not.

So, there you have it.

The LA Times has video of Obama toasting a former PLO operative at a Jew-bash but will not release the video.

This is outrageous.

Obviously, this video would do great damage to Obama who struggles with Jewish voters due to his circle of close anti-Semitic friends.
Maybe this is the reason it is not being released?

Not only does Barack Obama’s church of 20 years support Hamas and Hezbollah but Barack Obama also has a longtime close friendship and financial association with suspected former PLO operative and Israel hater Rashid Khalidi.
Earlier this month Sean Hannity dared to report on Barack and Michelle Obama’s radical associate and friend, Rashid Khalidi:

Barack Obama funnelled thousands of dollars of cash to Rashidi’s anti-Israel Foundation through his work on the Woods Fund.

(There were also testimonials from then-state Senator Barack Obama and the mayor of Chicago.)
It’s hard to imagine that the LA Times would hold onto a video of Sarah Palin praising an anti-Semitic radical and former PLO operative…

I hope so! I had to take many courses in statistics to get the whole story of polls and their interpretation. It easily takes a year or more of time and testing to come up with a really good poll or psychological assessment, which is what a poll is. Consider the reliability of the SAT vs. Zogby. Day to day political polls at best can’t come closer to accurate than +/- 3 points. That’s why a 6 point spread is not meaningful by itself, and can reverse in 24 hours.

I was mortified, personally, that this competition for dollars got started in the primary. I didn’t think that young people should be digging so deeply into their pockets for a politician, who might…then turn around and not deliver.

We all have been through campaigns. We all know the game. Next comes the speech, “Well, the economy is obviously so bad, that I’ll have to postpone those tax cuts.”

The moderators of the debates tried valiantly to bring some honest discussion about this into the campaign. Obama clearly decided….stick to the BS.

Now, these young people have spent about what they will pay in taxes next year on electing him? That just seemed wrong. My favorite comments to hate from the Hillary campaign came when she had a good on-line month, and her manager said, “And these were people on fixed-incomes sending her money!” I thought right then, “Shut up, you dope. That’s nothing to brag about.”

I don’t like this new “free-for-all” system, may the biggest campaign money raiser win.

It over-persuaded the SD’s, in my opinion.
